The fact that 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz had no real tragic backstory and is a much more successful villain tells me that Doofenshmirtz's backstories aren't the cause of his evil, they're an inhibition on his evil.

His suffering taught him humility and empathy and perseverance that 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz never had. And that ultimately made him a better person, and thus a worse villain.

the fact that it's common knowledge at owca that one of their agents was killed and eaten and the way the boss just constantly cracks jokes about it is kinda...

You know what I appreciate? In the scene where 2nd-dimension Doof forces Perry to reveal himself by attacking the boys, our Doof’s immediate reaction is anger. Perry being there or not, the idea of hurting children is a complete no. It’s such a subtle thing, but I think it really shows what makes the two Doofenshmirtzes different. It kind of sticks out to me both for later in the movie and even later in the show when Doof realizes he’s actually good—physically hurting children is a line he would never cross.

Concept: Doof goes back to being evil in the phineas and ferb revival bc OWCA was going to lay off Perry or dock his pay OR assign him to a new nemesis far away. Doof doesn’t want perry to lose his job or have to leave Danville so he goes back to being evil to keep him there.

AND I KNOW perry is paid to keep doof in line after he turns good in MML but maybe by the time we get to the reboot doof has chilled out and doesn’t need to be supervised any longer. Plus this would not be the first time OWCA tries to relocate perry.

I think something that strikes a chord within the Doof stan community when it came to Dadenshmirtz and Vanessa is that....shes loved. She's so so so so SO loved.

She's not spoiled. Her parents aren't perfect. Charlene can't take her seriously and her dad's clearly got issues but like. Heinz comes to all her games. Charlene isn't scared to show her she still cares about Heinz a lot, and doesn't let her back talk him. Heinz teaches her how to drive and remembers every single birthday request (even if he doesn't let her have some; eg cars and tattoos) and they hug each other and Vanessa kisses his cheeks and they tell each other i love you. Neither of them NEVER let Vanessa forget how important she is, and how LOVED she is, NO MATTER WHAT.

(and while Heinz's perception of Norm is a bit screwed up, he still tries to raise him somewhat right. He takes him to parties and encourages him to socialize and reads him bedtime stories.)

That really fucks me up sometimes. These are healthy dynamics you don't even often see in families where parents are still together. Doof and Charlene are friends who love their daughter very very much and it means so much to me

phineas and ferb is genuinely so funny. my taste as an 8 year old was impeccable

there’s a scene in excaliferb of malifeshmirtz (doof) walking down a spiral staircase, and he tells a story that is completely nonsensical because whenever he goes behind the stairs his voice gets muffled. the first two times it’s a funny gag, but the third time he mumbles behind the staircase and exits saying “and that’s what i said because i had a gag on my mouth” and that is genuinely the funniest shit oh my god

Sufficed to say, Eggman needs to stop being let into libraries if he's going to awaken the first eldritch abomination he sees.

What if the next one he ends up awakening brings an armada of space zealots hellbent on activating a super weapon that wipes out all life in the galaxy? (Note to self, don't tell Eggman about Halo...)
