I didn't want to explain it until the end tomorrow but I woke up to people blaming other artists for not feeling good during Xmas so annyway : My headcanon for them is that they don't celebrate Xmas. It makes sense to their past (I mean, one of Bruce's biggest trauma is his father beating the shit out of him and his mom during Xmas) but I also wanted the samuce stuff I do each year to be enjoyable for everyone. For people who enjoy Xmas but also for people who don't. Especially for people who don't and who are way too forgotten and blamed over their own pain and loneliness. Sam and Bruce doesn't celebrate Christmas, they spend it alone together. My intend was never to make an happy ending full of Christmas miracles of whatever, as I said previously, it was meant to end with the sad hug at first. But I love them so I wanted to offer them a bit of comfort, this is my Xmas gift to them and to you, a bit of hope in the darkness.

I drew Bruce kissing Sam a few time but I never ever drew Sam kissing Bruce. That's because when I draw them kissing it's often as a joke and call me weird but to me Sam kissing Bruce is too pure to be used as a joke. It's not a mere kiss, because Bruce is the only person who makes Sam feel human. I'm not gonna make a whole thesis of how Bruce is important to Sam's humanity, to understand how human Bruce makes Sam feel I'll have you read this But anyway, in this moment, it's not just about kissing Bruce, it's about Sam sharing his weakness with him, to be his equal. It's about Sam being Sam and not the Leader, for a moment, just to comfort that one person he hates because he can't help it. The Samuce ship is not just about enemies to lovers yaoi, it's about healing. It's about two wrecks who got destroyed by the people they love who are learning to love themself through someone else who accept them as a whole. Because Bruce is the only person who care for "Sam" and not just the Leader, even after everything he did and Sam is the only who allow Bruce to be "the monster" and who allow him to express his rage and anger while seeing more than just "Hulk" in Bruce and respecting him and his own strength. In each others' arms they can be full again without feeling shame or guilt over it.

It was supposed to stop at that hug, no text, Sam had closed eyes, it was cute and all but I thought, for Christmas, I would give you a better Samuce moment that I never drew yet and by better I mean gayer. I had a hard time finding a small dialogue in that hug but I wanted it to be obvious that Sam is not just sad for Bruce but also for himself, feeling hurt and lonely in this moment as well.

But the reason I never draw comics is not only because I'm terrible at it, I'm also a terrible writer so please be indulgent with how cliche this is LOL

Little head up here because I realized a lot of people aren't really aware of what that little star is and I didn't want to add context to something that was originally 3 pages long LOL but it basically is the symbol of Bruce's mother love and care for him that he lost, his abusive father took it and Sam killed his father and I like to think that he somehow got it back then. My boy went as far as punishing Bruce's father by making him live all of Bruce's trauma so y'know. So when one of you said Sam was like "hi Bruce I killed your dad btw" it was pretty much what I wrote but in a less brutal way haha
