That TERF from yesterday still has a chokehold on me bc her "Link is a cisgender butch lesbian and everyone in Hyrule just thinks she's a guy" HC has got to be the most ironic "babe you're so close" ass headcanon I've ever heard.

So Link is a butch lesbian who is misgendered by everyone in Hyrule (including Zelda for some reason, if we are to take this as canon like OP suggests), to point where she's literally been labelled as the legendary swordsMAN and even the Gerudo can't tell she's a woman until she puts on more traditionally feminine attire. Link doesn't even put particular effort into appearing masculine, but everyone in Hyrule still just can't fathom her being a woman, because her presentation is not "feminine enough" to be considered one.

HMMMMMM gee golly gosh I wonder... I do wonder if another group of vulnerable individuals might empathise with Link's plight here?... gee whizz 😳

soo funny how my idea of 2p canada and france's relationship changed over time. in an old ask i was like "matthieu was his son 😔he loved him more than anything..."

And this is why I don’t prescribe to “anti” as a fandom label: it means absolutely nothing except “bad fandom person” to people whose entire self-worth is tied up in whether or not their opinions are “valid” to mainstream fandom. I’m an “anti” for saying that a canon villain is a villain, but you’re not an “anti” despite hating the villain’s canon personality and rewriting their actions and key motivations. And now that you’ve labeled me an “anti,” you can accuse me of egregious behavior that I’ve never committed, because again, you have now defined “anti” as a “bad fandom person.”

The “anti” tag was started as a concession to fans who didn’t want to see or engage in critical critique of their favorite media, so respectful critical fans took it elsewhere. Now that it’s being applied to “you speak about the canon bad things done by a canon antagonist,” it has lost all meaning. Put it up on the high shelf with the other words that non-reading ass bitches have ruined, cause there’s no meaning in using it anymore.

I take issue with the DA2 approval system idea that you’re more likely to stick with someone that you have strong positive or strong negative feelings for. Like the fact that Fenris stands against you for siding with the mages if he’s in the middle of the approval bar. In my experience, it’s the people who you have both strong positive AND negative feelings about who live most prominently in your brain forever.
