okay but one thing about fitzsimmons that is finally clicking for me is and that might be the reason they are my favorite ship ever is that they don't get boring in the slightest once they actually get together. like maybe it's just me, but sometimes the buildup to certain characters getting together is more fun for me to read/watch then their actual relationship (especially if it isn't developed well, but that's a whole other conversation). with fitzsimmons, it comes at the extent of a loooooot of angst and collateral damage and curses and the bloody cosmos etc but some of their most interesting storylines happen post-s3 (which is when they actually get together). like they are a couple for over half of that show but at the same time i'm spending the entirety of the show questioning whether they will get their happy ending after all, so i'm never bored in the slightest

The rest of the team immediately realizing she’s the ex-wife? Fantastic

And then like… Skye, after 4 episodes of just “Director Coulson” FINALLY gets that father-daughter hug after realizing that her biological father is a monster? SPECTACULAR

it’s incredibly hilarious to me that fitzsimmons have that dramatic situationship break up scene where fitz says he’s going to work with mack because he can’t work with her anymore, and then literally ten minutes later they’re finishing each others sentences again
