when you and dean first started going out, you knew that he was always traveling and never really stayed in one spot for too long, which was more than fine with you; you were too busy working and taking care of your niece for a proper relationship, anyway.

so, whenever the man came back to kansas and you managed to get a babysitter, the two of you would get tangled up in your bedsheets for a night. until things started changing.

what started as dean calling you up when he was back in town slowly turned into him texting you when he was gone, asking you how you were doing and telling you he couldn't wait to see you, coming over as soon as he was back in kansas.

what started as dean coming straight to your place and almost immediately taking you to bed slowly turned into pots and pans clanging in the kitchen as he cooked you dinner while you simply watched him with a glass of wine on your hand, the man telling you all about whatever monster him and his brother had been hunting while he made you his so-called specialty.

what started as dean leaving before you had even woken up slowly turned into waking up to his snores, spending lazy mornings tangled in each other's arms while the two of you talked about everything and nothing in hushed voices, exchanging small, nearly feather-light kisses.

he started bringing you postcards from all the places they'd travel to, the back of them filled with chicken scratches about what they were hunting, and although he always gave them to you in person, he made sure to write your name on the lines meant for your address with what was dean's attempt at cursive, the shoe box under your bed soon filled with postcards from different places.

neither of you called it what it was; when sam queried dean about where he'd disappear off to the moment they got back from their cases he'd mumble something about 'going to see someone', and when your friends wondered who was the guy picking you up from your girls' night in the black impala you'd just shrug and grin before making your way outside, straight into the arms of the man leaning against the car.

"i'm gonna have to cancel tonight." you said into your phone, using your shoulder to hold it up to your ear as you used your hands to decorate a bunch of cupcakes.

"what? aw, come on." dean's voice rang out, "i got popcorn and sour patch kids, and you finally agreed to watch terminator with me. are you bailing on me because of that? because if you really want to, we can watch one of your chick-flicks. again."

you let out a small laugh and rolled your eyes, a small smile now lingering on your lips, "it's not that. my sitter has a fever and had to cancel. so instead of our planned explicit date night i'm gonna be playing board games with aurora."

"ah, damn." dean sighed on the other line, "i really wanted to see you, sammy and i are probably gonna be back on the road tomorrow, we found some vamps up in duluth."

"i'm sorry." you say with your lips turned down in a slight frown, "let's take a raincheck, 'kay? i should go get rory, i finished decorating our cupcakes."

"oh? what cupcakes did you make?"

"red velvet. they're her favorite."

dean let out a small chuckle before humming, "hey, i was thinking... if it's not a girls-only night... maybe i could join you."

"really?" you raised your brows, "you wanna spend the evening playing monopoly with me and my niece rather than, i don't know, go to some bar and spend the evening with some hot chick?"

"i mean, you do have cupcakes. and board games are no fun with just two people."

you hummed, your lips pursed as you thought about his suggestion for a moment, before swallowing, "yeah. you can join."

after that evening, it seemed like things changed all over again.

dean no longer texted to ask you how you were, or to tell you how much he wanted to see you. he no longer cooked for you while you got to relax. you no longer woke up next to him. you didn't receive postcards addressed to you.

instead, he'd call you, checking in on you and aurora, saying how much he couldn't wait to see both of you again. he cooked for you while you were busy coloring with your niece. by the time you woke up, led zeppelin was blasting in the kitchen and the entire house smelled of pancakes, and when you got up, you'd see aurora dancing clumsily while dean was making pancakes. and the postcards were no longer addressed to you, but to you and aurora, and instead of ending up hidden under your bed, they were displayed on the fridge, until you no longer had enough magnets.

you were laid on dean's chest, your fingers drawing slight patterns on his skin, until his own hand came to stop you, bringing your hand to his warm lips, pressing a kiss on it.

"what are you thinking about?" he asked against your skin, and you looked up at him, wondering if you should tell dean what you were really thinking about or just brush him off. but the look in his eyes was reassuring, almost pleading you to tell him what was on your mind.

you took a deep breath before locking eyes with him, chewing on your lower lip, slightly anxious about what he was going to think.

"i don't think i can live without you."

dean's eyes widened slightly in surprise, before he let out a soft chuckle, the feeling of his breath on your hand causing shivers to run down your spine. he let go of your hand and moved his hand to your cheek, and you almost automatically brought your face closer to his.

"that's good, sweetheart, because i don't think i can live without you, either."

Damn, we're back at the greenhouse!

It looks like it kinda sets the timeline a bit, because I kinda presumed the Greenhouse was abandoned after that big endgame battle/all the mutants deciding if they wanted to go to Krakoa in the White Hot Room dimension or not. That is, unless a bunch of them decided to stay there regardless? We'll probably find out.

Also, I'm wondering who the body is, because Sabretooth was dismembered back on Krakoa.

Worst case scenario (and I cannot emphasize enough HOW MUCH I DON'T WANT THAT): It's Aurora.

Not only would that be cliche, I would despise it more than I could ever articulate. It would probably lead to a dramatic, angst-filled rescue mission where Aki has to retrieve her soul because it was captured by Mephisto or something.

And I promise you, if that worst case scenario comes true, I'm gonna relentlessly bitch about it for the foreseeable future.

Aurora has been through enough. I swear, she's already underused as it is and lord knows she doesn't have enough quiet moments. She needs a soft 'n tender reunion with her man.

Fun 'n spicy option (also cliche though): It's a random mutant and this page is just before the dramatic almost-fight, where Aurora is still around (either protecting something or investigating on her own) and she instinctively pins Akihiro to the ground before realizing it was him.

*cue sweet reunion a la that-recent-Storm-issue-style*

We'll see I guess. It seems like we're also still in the exposition-heavy series set-up phase -- which I can't say I hate too much because Akihiro hasn't had an ongoing in like 10+ years, so new readers (and even some longtime Wolverine fans) don't really have a grasp on who Akihiro is yet. So I understand the reasoning for the backstory summary.

Anyways, The excitement still hasn't worn off yet, lol. I'm still very curious to see where this series leads.

Would you consider the Xmen to be neglectful. I asked because the krakoan era has made me reevaluate how I see the Xmen, and nowadays I can't help but see them in a negative light.

I think definitely up to a point, although to be perfectly honest I don't think this is an X-Men thing so much as a general superhero team. The Avengers were massively neglectful and failed hugely in the ways they treated Hank Pym, Wanda Maximoff, and Carol, and there are massive injustices with the ways in which Monica was treated, etc etc. Alpha Flight, who I've been reading a bunch of, also fail massively with Aurora, and Heather and arguably Purple Girl. Even the Fantastic Four have many issues where their members go unsupported, have their issues not taken seriously, etc etc.

So I think up to a point a lot of it is down to the fact that it's more dramatic for an audience to have a character uncared for and feeling broken and be allowed to indulge in their worst behaviour and their worst impulses. The problem, of course, is that you can really only do that plotline a couple of times before it does read as a character or team as being horrific friends who mistreat the people around them. Janet, as an example; I am massively sympathetic to Janet in the context of Yellowjacket. I think she was young, she was scared, and she was in a position where actually trying to have a conversation with her teammates about her husband's clearly declining mental health would have likely resulted in him being institutionalised. She was caught in a horrible position where he is unstable, clearly so, and a danger to both himself and other people, but she can't reach out to anyone because the last time she did they stuck him in an electric chair. But Janet in the buildup to Avengers Disassembled? All that sympathy leaves me. Because Janet at that point should know better. She should know far better than to ignore the warning signs of someone clearly mentally unstable, because it has resulted in tragedy before, which she has a direct and very personal experience in. And the vibe there is that Janet simply is a neglectful person, and a bad friend to the people around her who would rather prioritise keeping a fun party atmosphere than look after the people around her.

She's just one example, but my point is that I think a lot of superhero teams end up being neglectful to their members simply by proxy of the soap opera elements of the genre that have defined it for ages. But I also do think it's fair enough to also want more calling out of this behaviour, which never really happens, and extended periods of resentment are rare unless they're villians. Carol, very understandably told the Avengers to take a hike for what they let happen to her, but that resentment and fury isn't there anymore. Hank only ever got angry at the Avengers in any way when Ultron was puppettering his corpse around, so that barely counts, Jeanne Marie was allowed to briefly divorce herself from her brother, but no mentions of his abrasive, misogynistic and ableist behaviour is found in any contemporary comics, and I can't recall any time Wanda was allowed to be furious at the Avengers for what they allowed to happen to her because of their neglect and mistreatment.

Anyway. Yes, I do think the X-Men are certainly neglectful to many of their teammates, but for me, this is also just a general part of the cape comic genre as a whole, so I don't necessarily blame them for it as a specifically X-Men issue, however there are certainly characters like Kwannon and Hank and Warren and whoever else who I think do deserve a bit of righteous fury, because I think it makes for interesting team drama and is often nice for an audience to see.

WE HAVE ROBOT ANIMALS!!! FLORA AND FAUNA!! WE SEE MORE THAN JUST CITIES WE SEE LANDSCAPES AND GEOGRAPHIC FEATURES AND A BLEND OF CIVILIZATION AND WILD SPACES AND A PROPER ALIEN PLANET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANIMALS!!!!!

like don't get me wrong the cities themselves rock and are gorgeous, but we only ever see like... just a bunch of grey metal and blocky greebled buildings and rust. Cyberverse was probably my favorite properly alien planet as a whole instead of just a really big sci fi city named Cybertron and i'm so excited to see what they do with it in One, ESPECIALLY with how it seems to be heavily technoorganic and hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Quintessonsssssssssssss eeeheheheheh give me the SQUIDS

actually for that matter the aesthetics?? this is such a fascinating artistic direction that i'm really appreciating like the vaporwave sunsets, the fractal moving mountains and aurora horizon, those busy neon city scenes and the upside down underground towers and... whoof it's all so incredible?? and it manages to be visually stunning WITHOUT just being a bunch of, yknow, greebled nonsense. it looks designed, it looks like it has Culture and Life and Intent behind it instead of being a mess of vaguely robotic detail slapped on. i keep wondering what the significance of the tower on the poster will be. the train things are fascinating. the little hints and implications of society and oh how interesting that could be expanded on. the mecha themselves too are like, halfway in between uncanny valley and stylized tin soldier toys for me in a way that took a bit of getting used to but i'm appreciating more and more how it's visibly and joyfully animated instead of trying (and failing) to be 'live action' like the Lion King

the SCALE. THE SCALE!!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW RARE IT IS WE GET SO MANY NAMED KNOWN CHARACTERS PACKED INTO SCENES LIKE THIS. tf canons usually have core casts of characters both for storytelling and budget reasons and yet here we've got so many shown off in just the trailer, it makes it feel like a real populated planet instead of a handful of robots and some set dressing like Aligned feels like to me.

i've got some insane questions like why does D-16 already have a Decepticon brand on him??? why is Alpha Trion alone and sad and did he rip those tcogs out of the corpses of other primes to give to them and why is he some kinda mossy gorgonopsid unicorn?? why is Sentinel getting tentacled and will we see him be ripped limb from limb (positive)?? what are Vehicons here and how do they differ from regular bots and what is their purpose???

the only real issue i have is Hasbro being predictable and shoving Bee in when someone else would really better fit this movie as he's typically not meant to be in this time period/role but eh. disappointed but not surprised and willing to let go and laugh at him being comic relief anyway. there's literally not enough information on anything else for me to say if i don't like it or not yet bc i have no idea how they're gonna execute it, but what is there has me eager and hopeful it'll be good

i guess the biggest thing is. it looks fun. it looks FUN!!! the world looks fun, the characters look like they're having fun, it just seems like a movie that wants me to ENJOY it!! i'm ready for a fun movie in a franchise i love!!

Dewdrop: That’s a rogue right there. Although there is a real argument to be made for fighter, I’m going with rogue. He’s got that kind of sass, you know? He’s also INCREDIBLY good at the things he’s proficient in (expertise anyone?) and has a massive chip on his shoulder. I’ve yet to meet a rogue that doesn’t have a chip on their shoulder.

Rain: Hard choice, but ima go with warlock. You think I’m joking, “ooh band about Satan has a warlock, who would have guessed,” but I think it would fit HELLA well with his whole deal. Despite stumbling in the beginning, dude has very good stage presence, although in a bit understated in comparison to the other highly charismatic ghouls, just like how Charisma being a Warlock’s main ability takes on a different form in comparison to other charisma casters. Also… Pact of the Fathomless? Tentacles? Writes itself, really.

Phantom/Aeon: It took some figuring out but I think Sorcerer fits best. Think about it, despite being shaky in his stage dynamic with the rest of the ghouls when he first started, he had such big stage presence right out of the gate with all his cool guitar tricks! That to me reads as someone who has such innate charisma that he’s able to keep up even when out of his depth. That to me reads like someone whose magic has always been a part of them and whose abilities stem from their willingness to fake it till you make it. He for SURE is a Sorcerer.

Aether: Oh come on. Anyone who knows about d&d knows Aether would be a cleric. That’s not even fair at that point. Twilight Cleric too, purely for the vibes of it. The whole point of rhythm guitar is to be the backbone on which the lead guitar’s melody can shine and the bass’s riff can keep pace! Support is what the cleric is all about! Also healing. Just. Cleric. Next question.

Cirrus: Fighter! Fighter! Fighter! Fuck yeah she’s a fighter, and she is having SO much fun! She is a woman that can kick your ass, make it look easy, and make you thank her for it. Her and Lus’s keys are such a key part of what keeps things running smoothly and you ALWAYS need at least one martial class person in your party if you want to make it. You just know she’s the one people go to to open the stuck lids when Aether isn’t around. You love to see it.

Cumulus: Tough call, but something in me says Paladin? She is SUCH a strong presence in the backing vocals, something non-charisma feels like a disservice. Not a bard though, she doesn’t actually show off that much on stage. And yeah, outside of the actual stage performances, she strikes me as the kind of person to have a strong moral code that she adheres to. She could definitely get herself a Paladin Oath through sheer force of will if she wanted.

Aurora: Okay this one was INCREDIBLY hard cause I don’t actually know that much about her. With that in mind, based purely on vibes? I honestly am feeling Wizard. She seems to exude a lot of excitement and eagerness which, to me, translates really well into curiosity. She is so incredibly interested in everything the surface world has to offer and that includes how magic functions differently from how it does in the Pit. It might take her some tries, but once she gets the basics she would be a MENACE of a spell caster. Maybe Bladesinger so she can learn cool spells and swing a sword at people simultaneously?

Sunshine: This might be a bit of a weird call but to me, Sunshine is a monk. Like, in shows she’ll sometimes be super high energy and sometimes go full unflappable, intimidating ghoul. It’s like step of the wind vs patient defense to me. Also, I think just very generally she has some great speed if you let her. That woman has a “can’t stop won’t stop” attitude, and isn’t that just the monk in a nutshell?

Swiss: Bard. I don’t even think I need to explain it but I’m gonna anyways. I mean, the multiple instrument proficiencies, being one of the main back-up singers, fuck man, that dude RULES his tiny stage of shame with an iron fist and every time he’s let off of it all hell breaks loose. Also, the Jack of All Trades feature is very in-line with how we as a fandom interpret his abilities as a multi-ghoul. He is literally good at everything! Bards are just like that! HE is just like that!

Mountain: Could you imagine if I just picked something like Barbarian? Could you imagine if I said Mountain “Forest Cryptid” Ghoul was a Ranger? Druid. Full stop.

Hello!! I'm Mod H! I've never done a daily account before, but really wanted to try it out especially since momokarun is my main hyperfixation right now—and of course I had to drag my partner K into it ˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶ !

I love making all kinds of fan content, and have been known to make fanart, write fic, make edits, and even real life crafts such as scrapbook pages based on my favorite things! Some other things that I enjoy include music analysis/music theory, vocaloid (esp. vflower), and psychology. I'm currently working on a double major in music/psychology. Some of my favorite musicians include AURORA, Niru Kajitsu, Gregory + the Hawk, Gorillaz, and all kinds of other stuff!

Hey hey!! Mod K here!! :3 We’ve been running this account for a few weeks now and I’m excited to finally sort of introduce myself a little bit!! I can’t say exactly when this all started but these goobers have taken up nearly all the space in my brain as of late, so getting to run this page with my lovely partner and share your daily dose of the sillies has been really fun!! And I can’t wait to continue!! Especially the more we read about them/watch whenever the show picks back up!

As far as I go, I’m just your typical average everyday guy ;3 Honestly, it’s kind of funny. When I was younger I used to be super into gravity falls and such, and by proxy became a bit obsessed with the occult and have acquired a bunch of books like Okarun has about these kinds of things. I think it’s safe to say I’ve had a pretty keen interest of the paranormal for quite a while now, and it keeps coming back around full circle with my interests!

Some other things about me… I’m currently graduated with a degree in animation. I adore the production aspect of all things animation and character design, the depths of character design. I’m a super big fan of things like Project Sekai, Genshin, (obviously Dandadan) I used to be a pretty avid cosplayer but I haven’t in a little while due to being busy in my personal life but I might pick it up again. The desire to cosplay these goobers is strong as ever. Oh, and I’m a huge fan of mod H (💕💕💕) my very lovely lovely partner :3

(un) helpful guide to the idol oc verse (its a lot?)

chat, its a lot to go over, thus this post. Ive been drawing them a lot lately and I kinda wanted them to get their own formal intro since I plan on posting that art too. So, here's a guide/intro on the idol oc verse

basics before I start:

I've been making kpop idol ocs for a while now. my oldest ones going all the way back to 2019, beating out some of my other ocs (1e (2021) and Asharact saga (2020))

tbh I didn't really know that kpop ocs were like a normal thing until like last year tbh. there are so many cool ones out there its crazy

I tend to just call them idol ocs, BUT they are in fact kpop idol ocs

I have A LOT. I got four separate companies, which tend to have multiple artists under them. So basically, a lot of oc ground to cover here

they all live in the same universe and can interact with each other and stuff! basically fun and silly idol interactions

a lot of them vibe, but some of them have kinda cool lore yk

anyways, let's get started!

The companies:

As of now, there are four main companies that keep track of: ZC ent, Enlight ent, Aerial ent, and Minstar Music. I tend to just focus on these four and the artists under them. I've come up with other company names before, but it was mainly for lore purposes

ZC Entertainment (zc)

ZC was made by me and my sister back in 2019. We made a bunch of groups under it (Eight Calling, Cherri, X-Cite, Girl Story, Unix, Aurora, Rab), but we (more like she) stopped adding onto ZC a while back, but I kept the groups that I made/managed (X-Cite, Rab, Aurora). They're still apart of this universe and I even kinda added to their story, but no major additions to ZC tho. I mention it in the lore of other idol ocs but that's really it.

X-Cite are my ogs. I made them back in 2019 (possibly 2018), so they like my oldest group. Rab and Aurora were made shortly after

ZC entertainment consists of: Eight Calling, Cherri, X-Cite, Girl Story, Unix, Aurora, Rab

Enlight Entertainment (enl, enlight)

This is my main company and I actively add onto this one. I made it back in 2021 during the peak of my k-band phase/when I made Venus. Thay also have Neverland, which are my main group (thus the main company), and a couple of other artists.

Enlight Entertainment consists of: Venus, Destiny, Haven (Active in Neverland), Neverland, and Miracode

Aerial Entertainment (ael, aerial)

Another company, and they're smaller, only having one group under them, Cosmoz

Minstar Music (mm, mintstar)

Another smaller company, but they have Redawn and RSGO

Neverland (survival show):

The biggest piece of lore of this universe is Neverland (survival show, low-key confusing but I never came up with a better name).

Neverland was a survival show. it first aired in January 2020 and ended in April 2020 (I pretend covid never happened in this universe). It reached 12 episodes and gained millions of viewers.

In episodes 1-3, the show established 140 trainees. Throughout the show, 20 trainees would be eliminated in each episode (ep. 4-7) via viewers (domestic and international) voting in team competition activities. In the 8th episode, the final 60 trainees had to form fixed groups of 5 and compete against each other. The following episode (ep. 9) would eliminate 6 teams, leaving 30 trainees left. Episodes 10 and 11 is the final team round where the final 30 trainees create their teams and showcase their talents for the final voting round, where the final places would be determined. The 12th episode revealed the top 10 trainees who were guaranteed a spot in the group. The final four members would be determined by the judges on the show in the last episode.

This project was a collaboration between many well-known companies. The big thing about the show was that whichever company had the most trainees in the final lineup essentially "won the final group", thus many companies sent many trainees onto the show. The final lineup had 3 trainees from Enlight Entertainment, thus the final bg, their group name revealed to be Neverland (same as the show basically), being managed by them

since it was a big survival show, many bgs/artists would come out of this show. this includes, but not limited to:

Im Youngguk (2021)

Daylee (2021)

Cosmoz (2022)

Outside of Neverland (bg), I also focus on Cosmoz, Redawn, and RSGO. The others were just the names I came up with for lore purposes. trainee-wise, I only focus on the top 30 rather than all 140, cuz yk that's a lot. i do have a full list of all 140 trainee names, but that's really it.

There are also sm fun little nuggets of lore connected to this survival show. A lot of it is the various trainee duos formed while it was being filmed (Sanghyun and Natsuo, Dae and Hyun, Sanghyun and Vyn, Euijeong and Wooshin, Donghun and Hyuk, etc etc). my personal favorite nugget of lore is the Tashi v Woobin fight, which was a physical fight between two trainees who had to get broken up by the others

My mom was a pokemon rescuer and she would adopt them when I was little so my childhood was involved with a lot of pokemon and basically loved pokemon ever since I was a little baby :) Some of the pokemon I had were given to me on my birthdays and some of them I caught in the wild when I was 10 thanks to my dad teaching me (he's a pokemon professor btw). Thanks mom and dad!

But anyways here's my team!

Phoenix the Blaziken ♂️

Move set: Flamethrower, Blaze Kick, Stone edge, Thunder punch

I had Phoenix ever since he was a little pokemon egg. My mom rescued the egg from a forest fire and knew when the egg hatched it wouldn't be able to survive because the eviorment got destroyed and couldn't find it's mother so she brought it home and later hatched into a Torchic. Me and Phoenix are really close and he helped me a lot during the gym challenges. He sometimes acts like a older brother figure to the rest of my team and is really nice, patient and smart!

Siren the Milotic ♀️

Moveset: Hydro Pump, Bubble Beam, Disarming Voice, Aqua Ring

I got Siren from a pokemon breeding center after I got my first gym badge. She's quite shy but loves it when I groom her. She also hates it when she get's dirty but is sweet nonetheless.

Cloudy the Altaria ♂️

Moveset: Mist, Dazzling Gleam, Dragon pulse, Draco Meteor

Cloudy was a present I got from my mom when I was 9 years old. He was a swablu at the time. He's really energetic and loves to play so he's really productive. But sometimes he can be gremlin and loves to bother my other pokemon just for fun.

Aurora the Gardevoir ♀️

Moveset: Prismatic Laser, Energy Ball, Physic, Light Screen

I caught Aurora when she was a Kirlia back when I was on my way to the 3rd gym. I managed to complete the gym in one sweep thanks to her. (She's one tough cookie!). Aurora acts like a older sister to my team so she gets along with them very well. But she doesn't tolerate Cloudy's antics and scolds whenever he does something stupid.

Apollo the Absol ♂️

Moveset: Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Ice Beam, Swords Dance

Apollo was another pokemon I got from mom as a present on my 11th birthday. I always gushed about having an absol because I thought they were so cool. I didn't know what to name him so my dad recommended the name Apollo. Apollo also helped me a lot on my gym challenges so I'm really grateful for that. I knew that Absol's dislike fighting so I only used him if my other pokemon had fainted and he was the only one left and mostly use him for contests. Apollo is a bit more reclusive than Siren but still he's nice!

Angel the Sylveon ♀️

Moveset: Fairy Wind, Attract, Swift, Moon Blast

Last but not least Angel! I got Angel when she was an eevee. Poor thing was bullied by a bunch of mightyena so I drove the pack away with Phoenix and Aurora. I guess I got my 'helping pokemon' genes from my mom. Since then she started to follow me everywhere and I didn't wanted to leave the cute thing alone so I decided to catch her! Since then I have been taking of her with proper care, love and attention and then she evolved into sylveon and gotten much stronger. Like her name suggests she is a huge sweetheart and loves to be productive❤

Oh, wow. The first ask. Thank you for taking an interest. Anyway, let's see. Frankly, with some of those characters I'm still working things out. But I also don't want to leave them out. So, some of those little tidbits I'm coming up with right now on the spot.

Étoile (SkSw): He actually has a slightly crooked nose, due to it being repeatedly broken on his adventure. (going splat on the ground, Octoroks, boulder throwing Bokos, Boulder dropping birds...)

Echo (OoT, MM): Has a barely noticeable lisp. It used to be a lot stronger though. Moth Malon and Oracle have made a lot of lighthearted fun of him.

Casco (TP): Ironically, he has a dog-hair allergy. It took him forever to figure that out.

Malba (ALbW, TFH): Does not like children. Still gets assigned babysitter duty the most out of all of them.

Fae (LoZ, AoL): Illiterate. He was raised by fairies.

Aihe (WW, PH): When he's grown up, he actually becomes the closest thing to a ship's doctor, Tetra's crew has. He was originally supposed to become a navigator. But Tetra didn't like him doodling on the maps all the time.

Hybris (HW): Completely and absolutely tone deaf.

Revenant (BotW): After defeating Calamity G, he just wanted to give Rana some good experiences. So one of the first things they did together, was attending a certain wedding.

Fangi (Pre SkSw): Keeps a single link of the chains he had been tied up with in prison. It's some kind of morbid "good luck" charm. No one understands why.

Gabha (MC): Has a lot more scars from his work as blacksmith than his adventure. As grumpy and condescending as Ezlo might have been at times, he was still a very good babysitter. (also I think I'm gonna retcon him being small. Him actually being tall and buff would be a fun contrast to the whole shrinking thing)

And I know that wasn't really asked, but might as well.

Zeldas

Soleil (SkSw): With Fi gone, Skipper won't lift a single finger for Étoile anymore. So now he's part of Sol's arsenal instead. (he just can't say no to a pretty lady.)

Aurora (AoL): Can't remember all that much of her coma dreams. Only some key moments and vague impressions. And a bunch of irrational fears that don't make sense to her, and that she didn't have before.

Tetra (WW, PH): She has the most high pitched and quiet, downright dainty, sneeze you can possibly imagine. She hates it.

Rana (BotW): Her first encounter with a Lynel was neither on purpose, nor did it go well.

Cailleach (MC): Zeffa has taken a strong liking to her. As soon as she steps out of the castle, you can be sure that bird is there. And if she finds herself unable to return on her own, Zeffa is always there to help. Even though she'll never understand how that tiny bird is able to carry her.

Zori (LoZ): When Ganon captured her, she did not just sit around, waiting for a hero to show up. She repeatedly broke out and wrought hell on Ganon and his minions. And she has the scars to show for it. That wall of fire you find her behind at the end of the game? That was a last ditch effort to just keep her in place for once.

Okay I was thinking about how the other charathers that Arent the great Seven would react to the NRC students in the house of mouse AU. Like i can Imagine Azul asking Ariel if She wants ti make a deal with him and Ariel Is like "lol no", or the First year see Cruella de vil at One of the tables and they are like "She look so much like Crewel that She's giving us PTSD" or kalim and Aladdin becoming buddies :D.

Well, let me put in some headcannons then:

Word goes around that some of the Great Disney villains come to visit Yuu and everyone gets jealous.

So now whenever Yuu goes to work they always get asked to have them visit their world.

So, Yuu just says, “Meh ok, you guys can visit me whenever just ask one of the Great Seven or go through the mirror in my dressing room-“

And suddenly Yuu gets someone they met from the House of Mouse ever other day. It’s literal chaos and Yuu doesn’t know if they should feel exasperated or flattered.

Anyways, here’s some interactions between the dorms and some Disney Characters:

Heartslybul: Obviously when Alice comes to visit, she comments on how Heartslybul reminds her of the Queen of Hearts’ garden. When Yuu mentions that they paint the roses red, Alice sarcastically asks, “Does the dorm leader behead people who don’t paint the roses?” “...Well, he’s more lenient now but...” “...You’re serious?”

Ace and Alice get along swimmingly, basically quick quips and a lot of teasing. Yuu regrets introducing them to each other because they know the two are going to get into some sort of trouble. Deuce also gets along with Alice, though he can get lost in Alice’s rambles in imagination.

I think Alice would get along with Trey and Cater. I mean, they both give big brother vibes (Trey more than Cater). Trey would give Alice some tarts and Alice is like, “....He’s cool.”

Cater is going to take a bunch of pictures, and Alice is very curious about the device he’s holding (I don’t think phones or the internet existed during Alice’s time so...). Cater ends up teaching Alice about the internet and phones.

Riddle...ohhh noo. Once Alice broke one of the 810 rules and Riddle lightly scolded her for it. Alice thinks most of the rules are ridiculous and while Riddle has toned down on being strict, he’ll quickly get annoyed with Alice questioning the rules. There’s rules for a reason! The dorm was founded on these rules!!

Savannaclaw: It’s Simba, obviously. He’s curious to see the dorm after his...nefarious uncle. It’s much more nicer than he expected, though he’s a little off put by the dorm’s...rowdiness.

But he’s impressed with the Magishift practices they have when Yuu showed them.

He likes Jack, right off the bat. Jack has this sense of justice that he can relate to. I think they would get along pretty well. Oh, and probably how strong and buff Jack is.

Simba is wary of Ruggie, due to him being a hyena beastmen. He has...bad memories of hyenas. His wariness is correct, since Ruggie has tried to swindle Simba and Yuu to do some of his work. Does the relationship get better? Only if Yuu makes them hang out with each other haha.

Leona reminds Simba of Scar...to a certain degree. Lazy, cunning, and has this look where it seems like he could be planning something nefarious...

Ok, maybe not that bad, but Simba is weary of Leona. He kind of expected a character similar to Scar since this is the dorm based on him but...still. It’s really odd. It’s kind of rocky, but if Cheka comes over to visit, well...it could get better.

I mean, Leona does find Cheka annoying and calls him a brat but...Simba can tell there’s no malicious desire towards Cheka, which raises Leona’s “evil people don’t interact” list. That doesn’t mean Leona’s in the clear, but he’s ok.

Octavinelle: Surprise, surprise, it’s Ariel! She comes over, human legs and all. (Don’t worry! She got them from the nicer sorcerers). She wanted to visit Yuu and see how great NRC was! They had fun, and then they went to Mostro Lounge.

Ariel is terrified of the Tweels. They give her this...off putting feeling and they’re very intimidating. She does not trust them at all. She does like how they get up close and how they speak as if she’s some poor soul waiting to be taken advantage over.

That’s also why she does not trust Azul at all. He reminds Ariel of Ursula - especially when he tries making a contract with her. Uh-uh, no way. Never again.

This leads to Ariel dubbing NRC a dangerous place for Yuu to stay at. Why doesn’t Yuu come live with her and her family back at her world? Surely it’s much more safer than here! Why, Melody already sees Yuu as a big sibling so why not just stay at the castle permanently?

Ursula fumes at the thought of her enemy trying to take Yuu away and become their parent. That’s her role, dammit!

Scarabia: Kalim invites Aladdin, actually. It’s the most funniest scenario. Yuu mentioned to Kalim about the street rat that wooed the princess and Kalim says, “:00 WE SHOULD INVITE HIM!!” Jamil sighs and facepalms.

It’s actually going great! Aladdin is kind of shocked at the big party that Kalim threw, but it was a great welcome. He’s shook that Kalim apparently trusted Aladdin enough to show him the treasury room. “It’s open for all of the dorm to use! I don’t need much of it!”

Wasn’t NRC rumored to be a villain’s school??? What is this ball of sunshine doing here???

Actually, the Scarabia duo are good in his eyes. Sure, a little rough around the edges with Kalim being a bit too naive and Jamil being more of a watching snake, but they’re better than what he expected. Aladdin gets along with them pretty well!

And then they go on a carpet ride when Kalim introduces Aladdin to his magic flying carpet.

Yuu and Jamil scream at the two of them to get down as they fly across the night sky.

Pomfiore: oh no. Oh no no no. Snow White visiting Pomfiore is like...Neige visiting.

Vil is cold to Snow White, and she knows why. She’s seen the images that Yuu had of this “Neige Leblanc”. He certainly reminds her of her younger days. Which is why she completely understands why Vil is so standoffish of her.

What she doesn’t expect is Rook singing her praises and also kind of...watching her. It’s low key creepy but Yuu says it’s normal and since he doesn’t mean any harm Snow White lets it slide. They do have a good conversation though. Snow White learns to understand Rook’s...eccentric hobbies.

Epel and Snow White go together like apples and oranges. They go pretty well together, but they have contrasting differences. They could be passed of as siblings with their cute looks, as much as Epel hates to admit it. Though I’d like to think they have this “Soft big sister with a gremlin of a little brother” dynamic. Or “Big sister that is harmless but has a badass little bother” dynamic. Just...a cool sibling dynamic, basically.

Ignihyde: Hercules comes by when he hears that a dorm was based off of Hades. He had to see what it was like. He expected the doom and gloom, but he didn’t expect all the technology.

He and Ortho go along swimmingly. I mean, he’s pretty chill around the more upbeat and cheery dorm member, at least. (Seriously, the others were such buzzkills). He also gets a good impression on Idia when Ortho affectionately talks about his big brother! Wow, so the kids here do have a heart! Unlike Hades-

Ok, so as much as Ortho talks so highly of Idia, Hercules does not see how Ortho does. I mean, Idia is a complete shut in and gloomy recluse! Why do you stick around him?! It isn’t until he speaks his mind about that comment does Ortho turn into a crazy murder machine. (“How DARE you speak of that about my brother!!”) Yuu has to save Hercules and the entire dorm before Ortho blows up the school.

So now Hercules sees how inseparable the two are and how much they care for each other, which yeah, that’s pretty cool. (Is also low key jealous, how come his half brothers weren’t like that?)

Diasomnia: Aurora visits with Maleficent. Both do not share ill will after their stories are completed. They actually do make amends. So Maleficent invited Aurora to see her grandson, and Aurora politely accepts.

They have tea with Malleus, and it is a very pleasant conversation. Aurora gets along well with Malleus, even suggesting maybe she should invite him and Maleficent to her kingdom one day. (Maybe when she gives birth to a beautiful baby. Maleficent liked that)

Lilia is also a fun one to be around! Aurora was so surprised by his scare that she had laughed. Ah, what a funny fae! Why, she hadn’t laughed this hard since...well, never. She likes Lilia and will come by if she needs a good laugh.

Poor Sebek though....he acts all uptight around Aurora because she’s a Queen and also aquatinted with Maleficent...he must be respectful to her at all costs! It takes a long time for Sebek to at least act a little casual around her. Maleficent says it’ll take some time, though Aurora isn’t sure if that time will come on her lifetime...but for the meantime, she is still happy to be around Sebek’s presence and have pleasant conversations with him.

Aurora and Silver...ok, let me say this: they got along during a sleepover. The Diasomnia gang + Maleficent and Aurora had a sleepover in the dorms to “better know each other”. I also think Aurora would feel sympathy for Silver if the conversation of him tending to fall asleep came up. Heavens knows she still has her sleepy spells even after her curse was broken.

Also- wofhenod I just imagine Aurora and Silver walking in the forest together and a bunch of animals surround them. (Yuu finds them and cries when they actually attracted a bunch of adorable puppies (or whatever animal you find cute). Cute, adorable animals that are so gentle with them that they start to cry due to stress from being at NRC (Silver and Aurora look at Yuu with concern and gently start comforting them)

Winfendien Suddenly I want a twin dynamic with Silver and Aurora. Even a sibling dynamic would be cool. Just two sleepy siblings that won’t hesitate to kick your ass.

(So far not including articles for school, but maybe future editions of this style will) I'm trying to find something to do to catalogue the books I read for if twitter goes down sometime soon, but also to give myself a space to catalogue progress through things that take a while to read, or don't have a real point of being "done."

This manga delights me so so much. I love the art style and the tonal dissonance and all the characters and just... *chef's kiss* mwah. While reading these the other day I kept leaning over to my friend to show him panels I really liked. I'm actually considering tracking down where to read the chapters translated by fans before the official english volume translations come out bc i don't want to WAIT longer than I absolutely have to. But I also have enough to read already

A Restless Truth by Freya Marske

What's up, it's my brand, queer historical romance with fantasy elements! AND this has murder mystery elements too. This could not be more my shit. I don't tend to preorder books because I am... bad at buying books that I want to read? But I did actually preorder an ebook copy of this as a little gift for myself after I read A Marvellous Light, and I found this so delightful that I could not stop my hands moving. This books wins the coveted "made me jump up and down" prize, and the prize of immediately being recommended to a lesbian friend. Also @ Freya Marske's agent, I would have read the ghost threesome, how dare you keep it from me.

A very dear friend recommended this book to me after [redacted] last year and I finally got around to picking up a copy through Libby and starting to read it. It is very weird. But I think I'm enjoying it? And yeah, I can see why Tort recommended this to me in the wake of All That.

See it is big anthology books like this which are the first reason for the 'just plain ongoing' section. Tort also gave/recommended this one to me, if I am remembering correctly, because I am of course a vampire lover, of both the monstrous and scary-sexy variety. (Gosh this is a Tortoise heavy post) Anyway, I've tried reading a bunch of these in one sitting and can't really do it, so what I'll try is to read one short story from this collection per novella or novel that I read, so that I can make continued progress through it. So far I have read the first five stories in it:

This one updates three times a week and I do try to keep up, so to avoid being repetitive I probably won't mention it again unless i feel like there's something i Must say about it. but I feel good about finally having a place to say "hey! I'm reading this right now!"

Okay okay so. I've had a lot of thoughts on how to do this.

Originally, I approached the idea with the same mindset as the Terraria crossover: isekai a bunch of characters onto 4546B and not let them go home until the game is completed.

But a major theme of Subnautica is the isolation; a big group, while it would lend itself well to shenanigans, would undermine that. So I felt that I should tighten the group, then, down to two or three or one. And of course the self-indulgent creature in me immediately gravitated to my favorite trio (Dion, Morris, Gisu) and came up with a lot of shenanigans based on that idea (Gisu trying to bring the fabricator and other tools home to study, Dion having any interaction with the reapers, Morris coloring all of their vehicles the most obnoxious color combinations he can think of, clown car seamoth, etc).

Except,,,, the world of Subnautica and the world of Psychonauts are vastly different. Just throwing characters from one world into another could definitely be fun, but it just didn't feel right???

So the obvious conclusion would be a fusion; Psychonauts characters who grew up in the world of Subnautica, who grew up with the context of Alterra and space travel and everything else going on. This would mean no "post-PN2 Dion is thrown onto a water world and has a Terrible Time", but it would make the most sense, story-wise.

But that opens another problem. What makes Dion all that different from Ryley, then, in this hypothetical AU? Oh, sure, Dion would have a much different temperament, but a Dion who grew up without a lot of the context from Psychonauts that shapes his character, who grew up familiar with Alterra technology and safe enough around water to get a posting on the Aurora—it could be hard to really differentiate him from a stock protagonist.

With all that said, I'm still a self-indulgent little creature at heart, so:

Alterra doesn't accept minors. Not for off-world postings. Not for dangerous jobs or long hours.

At least, they didn't when Dion was younger. Now, though—

A poster advertising a new program for teens on the notice board at the office Dion interns at, Alterra's logo front and center. Dion passes it once, twice, thrice before he caves and looks it up.

(It isn't a scam.)

But it isn't like Dion can go for it. It costs credits to apply, and he has responsibilities here. And the Aquatos are cursed, anyway, when it comes to space travel. Dion's grandparents left the planet, and look what happened to them. His great aunt was never really the same after her return—or so Dion's father has always claimed. Dion wasn't alive for the Valermo Incident—his father was barely even a teen, then, young and small and disbelieving in curses.

But the truth remains that Lucrecia gets worse every year. The truth remains that his father spends just as much time tending to her as he does working; that his mother has to split her time between her job and her children. The truth remains that what they earn isn't enough, even with the weekly shows, and the Aquatos won't be able to afford Lucrecia's medical bills for much longer.

On-world postings pay well enough—

But off-world postings pay so much more. The credits paid for even the most basic off-world posting would cover the medical bills at least.

(Last year, Raz ran off to see the office of his heroes, convinced that going on his own would be cheaper than waiting until their parents had enough saved up for a birthday trip, and somehow got away with it. They'd tracked him down after a week. After a week of Raz somehow being employed, after a week of worry and stress—

If Raz, the snotty little ten year old who always bit off more than he could chew could do it, why couldn't Dion?)

Dion can work his little office job all he wants; it's never going to be enough. He can do everything he can within the hours he's allowed to work, between all his other responsibilities; his wage will never change. Not until he's older. Not until he's eighteen.

Dion has always looked older than he is—it's something he's always shared with his father. He feels older, too, sometimes, when the extra responsibility of being the eldest settles in his bones. Family friends always comment on what a respectable young man he's becoming, on how mature he is, how old he looks and acts—

The work study program haunts him. Earn credits, keep up with a few classes, go into space—.

The Aquatos are cursed when it comes to space travel. Dion's parents would never give their permission. He should just stay here, stay home, and be a good son.

Dion fills out the forms anyway. Turns in his two weeks at his job. Uses his meager allowance on the application fee, and tells his mother it's a form for higher wages when he asks her to sign her permission (Not technically a lie—it'll pay better than what he has). Dion runs away—(traitor, some part of his mind whispers, the family's supposed to stick together, what are you doing)—and manages to get a posting. It feels unreal. It feels like he's going to get caught immediately. It feels like he might actually be able to do something to help. It feels like a rush and a chilling dread all at once.

His first posting doesn't amount to much—he's a member of the nonessential systems maintenance crew, on his first ship. A glorified janitor. But he works hard, and he sets aside his earnings to send to his family (later, when it's been long enough that they can't stop him). When the ache in his chest flares up and homesickness takes him by the shoulders, he reminds himself that he's doing it all for them. He's earning credits for the family, and they'll have one less mouth to feed in his absence. He's doing it for them.

(Some small part of Dion, the part that marvels at the vastness of the cosmos and the brightness of stars, knows that that's not entirely true. He's doing it for them, for Lucrecia and Mom and Dad and Fraze and Raz and Tala and Queeps, but he's doing this for himself, too.)

Four months pass. The opportunity for a new posting arrives. A transfer to a new ship—the Aurora—and a promotion to nonessential systems maintenance chief. It barely means anything, just a little extra pay for a lot more work.

Dion takes it, and prays his luck continues to hold. Nothing's gone terribly wrong yet, and he hasn't been found out, either. Maybe everything will work out.

(He should have known better. The Aquatos are cursed.)

Anyways can I just say that these questions were just brilliant!! Book 1 is so close to our hearts and Ethan MC dynamic back in the day was priceless. 😂

Just a fair warning this contains a lot of pinching noses and rolling eyes because that's what book 1 Ethan used to do all the time. So now let the fun begin! 🤩

Ethan : I tolerate most of them though.

Meera (chuckles) : I think it'll be Dr. Thorne, Dr. Myles and Dr. Hirata. Atleast these are the ones he complains about the most.

Ethan : Hmm. Fair enough. Bose here obviously hates that back stabbing "friend" whose name I'd rather die than learn. And I think Dr. Emery and Dr. Mirani also falls under this list.

Meera : Full point for the first one, but I think Aurora is a good person overall, she has some issues, which we need to work out. And I don't hate Zaid, I just don't like how he is always in a grumpy melancholic mood.

Ethan : Which is very justified of him given that he has to work with the interns the majority of his work hours.

What is your coworker’s strangest or most endearing quirk?

Meera : Easy, pinching the bridge of his nose and rolling his eyes when annoyed, which is all the time by the way.

Ethan : I think adjusting her glasses when it threatens to slip from her nose and forming her lips in a strange way when concentrating.

Bree : I am sorry doctor could you just explain the last part better.

Ethan (rolls his eyes and tries to do his best impression of Meera's pout)

Meera (chuckles) : That's not how it's done, Ethan. This is how it's done (pouts)

Ethan : Yeah same thing.

Where do you see him in five years (both professionally and in his personal life?)

He thinks he won't practice medicine anymore because he can't solve Naveen's case but I know he won't be able to resist helping people and ofcourse that is what Naveen always wanted. So, professionally, he is doing wonders. Inspiring thousands of hearts, guiding hundreds of young doctors and saving millions of lives. The diagnostic team has becomes globally recognised. He has written another book or two. Maybe won the Lasker Awards.

Personally, I hope he is happy and not lonely. He needs someone by his side. Someone who can tolerate his sarcasm and critisisim. Someone who will put a smile on his face when he wakes up beside her. Maybe he'll have a family, if that someone is really strong-willed. (let's out a dry laugh)

What do you find the most impressive about him?

His passion for what he does. He just lights up and enrapts the entire room when he speaks about medicine. And I just get lost in the sea of passion in his eyes. Also his stubbornness and unwillingness to give up is really impressive.

He ordered about half a dozen books on Medical Law and Ethics for me.

If he asked you out on a date, what would you say?

I don't think so he will. Like the chances are really really thin but trust me if he does I wouldn't dare say no. (colour rises to her cheeks)

But yes that's in a different world. A world in which we don't live. (sighs wistfully)

If she manages to save her lisence she'll be a wonderful doctor. She'll save innumerable lives and be one of the brightest stars in medicine. I am sure she'll secure a spot on the DT and maybe even lead it someday. She'll make me proud. (smiles genuinely)

Personally I hope she'll be with someone who loves her more than anything and that she is with literally anybody else but that scalpel jockey. She'll have a loving caring partner who'll cook her meals when she comes home from a twelve hour shift. She'll have amazing friends especially the ones she has now. They really love her and they didn't think twice before helping her out with Mrs. Martinez's case.

Maybe she'll have a family. A few kids who will also grow up to show a stunning reflection of their mother.

What specifically do you find attractive about her?

Ethan : I can't say attractive but I'll say I like her personality. She has a magnetic one that makes sure to turn heads any time she walks into a room. Also I love that she cares so deeply about people and she is willing to go out of her way to put a smile on these people's face. Like for example Mrs. Martinez.

Bree : So is this "like" or "love"?

Ethan : Did I? Did I just say love? I am so sorry I meant like.

Bree : Could you enlist something physically attractive about her?

Ethan : If I have to. I'd say I love, er... like, like her laughter. It literally brightens the entire room. (blushes)

(sighs) I would feel lucky to go on a date with her, but right now in this situation? It's too complicated. I can't jeopardize her career, so it's a no form me, despite my actual feelings.
