Hey Lovelies, things got a little cut off cause my son decided to be awake all darn night so I didn't get to finish til this morning I know there's some stuff that wasn't included but I'll try to make sure it's in there tonight! <3
== Rhys Darby ==
Rhys and Dan are back on the mics doing more podcasts! There's a crossover podcast happening too!
Source: The Cryptid Factor Instagram
Also, new Cryptid Factor short Tiktok! If you've got Tiktok, please go over to The Cryptid Factor Tiktok page and send them some love! If you don't have tiktok, here's that video for you below:

== Taika Waititi ==
Pretty sure this picture has been out for a long while but it was recently reposted by Stephen Langdan on his Instagram so I thought I'd share it because it's a great photo of Taika.

In case you're unfamliar with what "Upfront" is (I certaintly was): "In TV advertising, the Upfront is the decades-old practice of buying and selling TV advertising time months in advance. Traditionally, these deals have taken place in the spring of each year, involving ad spots that would air in the coming television broadcast year." - Src: SimulMedia So yesterday Max was pushing for people to buy ads with them and as you can imagine, OFMD Twitter was not having it. I'm just including a few screenshots. Thank you to @neverleftpod and @singletureen on twitter for the polite menacing and capture of the WBD stocks not getting any better.
= June 3: Dont Stream On Max =
Adopt Our Crew is announcing June 3rd "An Excellent Day" to be another great day to push #DontStreamOnMax! (Just so happens to be that's the day that Stede plundered the infamous plant!) Thanks for continuing to fight the good fight @adoptourcrew!

**More Under the Cut**
= Petition =
Hey all, we are getting surprisingly close to 89K on the petition... I know there are some newer folks to the fandom that have joined recently, would any of you be kind enough to sign it? I realize we're not sure how much it's helping at this point, but 89K would be a nice round number in case it does help David and the cast somehow :) Petition Link
== Fan Spotlight ==
= Cast Cards =
@melvisik I'm always impressed how you can track down all these cast members! I'm going to include your note since I realize it's less easy with Nancy Lantis below as it was a quick shot: "Tonight is a wealthy woman from the party boat, doomed for daring to insult the future husband of the Gentleman Pirate. I think she's the one giving Ed that devilish grin when Gabriel calls him 'Fascinating' and helps him to his feet"

== Because The Night FanZine ==
The new NSFW Gentlebeard Zine "Because the Night" opened preorders today! They'll be open until June 15th, and you can learn more on their post below!
== Mermay ==
More Mermay! We're half way through the month! I would love to bring some other artists in too, I've been trying to reach out on socials to see if anyone would like their submissions included but haven't heard back a whole lot-- if you're interested please shoot me a dm!

== Love Notes ==
Can I just say I love being weird? What is "normal" anyway? Normal can be weirdness, normal can be social norms, normal is based entirely on who's perspective you're talking about.
I have been "weird" my whole life and I love being weird! All it means is we're different than what people originally expected, and you know what?
That's fucking awesome!
It makes us unique and it's so nice to be a member of a community of other weirdos (said affectionately, I actually think it's a compliment).
Your weirdness is amazing, and I adore every inch of you for it!
Shine on weirdos! You got today and you're gonna kick it's ass!

okay i’m obsessed with legend of zelda at the moment, i’m late and trying to finish up the first game so i can start the new one so here’s some headcanons because all i can think about is hawks atm
s/o that is obsessed with video games headcanons:
hawks:
hawks was not allowed to play video games when he was young
so he never played video games, considering his focus as an adult was on his career he never had any time for hobbies, it wasn’t even a thing that crossed his mind
but then there’s you
hawks starts dating you and once you hit the comfortable with each other period he realizes how much you really love video games
it starts with late night hang outs at your apartment and you ask if it’s okay if you play the game you’ve been playing
of course he’s okay if he can sit on your couch and hold you while you play, it’s not like he’s that interested in tv, he just wants to be with you
it’s confusing at first, your in the middle of whatever game has your interest at the moment
he asks a lot of questions but it makes you happy he’s actually interested
you’re very patient in your explanation
whatever you miss you’re sure to add onto as you encounter it in the story
he’s surprised at how interested he gets in the story
he wouldn’t think games were that interesting much less watching someone else play it
he’s not a back seat gamer, at least not an annoying one
when he does make comments or suggestions their funny or actually helpful
you’re always surprised when he suggests the right solution on the first try, makes you wonder if he’s the one that should be playing
when the two of you are more serious, like living together and all of that, he is the first to suggest a new game
oh, the sequel to the game you love is coming out?
he didn’t just preorder it he preordered the new console with exclusive theming
you always protest and say what you have is fine but he insists you get the best and newest
you realize this is his way of participating and providing so you don’t fight back after you understand
it makes him happy to spoil you and you won’t take that away from him even if you think it’s a bit unnecessary
the time you spend playing your game while hawks cuddles you and watches becomes sacred
he’s fully invested in every storyline
he gets sad when you do main story missions when he’s gone but he understands that he is often busy with work
you make it a point to only do pointless side missions and exploring while he’s not at home
and you always give him full details on what he misses
“i found this secret spot” “oh earlier i got this great loot”
at first he thinks it’s such a great coincidence that he always is there for the important stuff but then he realizes what your doing
it makes his heart flutter, how considerate you are even in the smallest things
you try to get him into multiplayer games since he insists that he doesn’t have time to play the big story games you love
and you do it so well that he’s more than happy to watch then to play them himself
friday night mario kart becomes a thing, you definitely go easy on him so he doesn’t feel bad but it’s hard trying to pretend in front of him
the two of you play stardew valley together from time to time and he loves the simplicity of it and working together
he hates when you go to the mines alone even though they stress him out
anyways hawks is the most supportive boyfriend/husband when it comes to video games
he will buy you every game you want and play whatever co-op you suggest and watch whatever game your playing and be fully invested

Good Omens fan since 2011 here! First of all just wanna say that you're one of my fav GO artists ever and your fanart of The Sacred and The Profane is still so important to me actually <3
Anyway, I'm a book fan through and through and when they first announced the TV Show I have to admit I was a bit hesitant but overall have made peace to the fact that it won't be 1:1. No adaption ever does but as long as the core stays there I'm good with it.
And while there are some parts I'm not a big fan of (The Dove being one but also how Crowley ask Aziraphale to ran away with him. I just can never see him asking that like he's the first one asking Aziraphale to work with him in stopping the Armageddon. And he's deep down is an optimist. So I can never see him asking Aziraphale to ran away regardless how desperate he is. Like on one hand I was like 'oh that's sweet' in shipping glasses but at the same time it's a 'he would not say that' moment to me 😔) but otherwise it was a good fun!
When S2 was announced, it took me off guard bc like. Do we *really* need this? I don't see why we need a S2?? I think biggest part is bc I've made peace over how we'd never getting a sequel. I'm at peace that those can just be explored in fan sphere 637382992 ways. I never see the necessity of needing a S2 or even S3. And while a part of me still a bit curious on what S2 is like, the response from the book fans I trust hasn't been .... good. So I think I'll sit this one out for now and maybe revisit it at some point in the future lol.
Silver lining I guess is the graphic novel! I'm really excited about that!! Curious how the book will translate as a comic :)
Anyway, sorry if this isn't really structured but I guess I just wanna say I've been enjoying reading your replies and asks from other folks as well! But also the one ask about GO could be the next SPN experience killed me point blank <3
Omg hi!! Wow, you've been in the fandom longer than I have...and THANK YOU for your kind words!! 🥺
And yes to all you said. S1 wasn't perfect, but I find myself overlooking the imperfections because overall it was a pretty faithful and good adaptation. And totally agree on the "run away" thing -- we bring up the dove a lot but that is honestly another "he would not say that" moment as you said. I was just talking with my friend about how book!Crowley is an optimist -- see how after he was sure that Aziraphale had disincorporated and the bookshop is aflame, Crowley still decided to drive down to the airfield to help the humans with nothing to lose or gain for him anymore, simply because he loves Earth too.
I talked about it briefly in a previous ask but I too was very sure that we wouldn't get season 2, because Neil Gaiman wouldn't ditch his dear dead friend to write more Good Omens on his own, right?......until he did. And like you said, we don't need a S2. The book fandom has been around for 30 years and still going strong. I guess the party that needed S2 the most is Amazon, and it just all comes down to money in the end.
I preordered the graphic novel and I'm curious how they'll adapt the book too! Season 2 has hurt me a little too much that I feel hesitant to say I look forward to any adaptations now......😂 but I am still curious about it! Again, thank you for your kind words! I think Good Omens is looking to be the next SuperWhoLock all by itself.

My third novel, SECOND CHANCES IN NEW PORT STEPHEN, is out Dec 5! Thought I'd tell you about it now.
If you're already familiar with My Brand (trans and nonbinary contemporary romance) you'll dig this one! It's not in the same series as Chef's Kiss and Chef's Choice, so no need to read my previous stuff if you haven't gotten around to it, but in my head all these stories exist in the same universe.
I'm really, really fond of this book. I'm fond of all my book children, but this is the first book I've written where I felt like I was working WITH these characters instead of controlling them. Nick (the hot single dad) and Eli (the failed comedian who returns home) are my co-workers, not my kids, if that makes any sense. I used to think every story ever told could be put into one of two categories: 1) a stranger comes to town or 2) our hero journeys to an unknown land. This book is neither and I think I've grown as a writer because of it. It's also my first book that switches POV (third person) because, for this story, it was important to me to give both these guys equal weight in telling their side. There's a lot happening here: home, family, getting older, reckoning with your past. But at its core it's about two very silly dudes who still love each other after all this time.
Anyway, here's what the back of the books says!
Synopsis:
Eli Ward hasn’t been back to his suffocating hometown of New Port Stephen, Florida, in ages. Post-transition and sober, he’s a completely different person from the one who left years ago. But when a scandal threatens his career as a TV writer and comedian, he has no choice but to return home for the holidays. He can only hope he’ll survive his boisterous, loving, but often misguided family and hide the fact that his dream of comedy success has become a nightmare.
Just when he thinks this trip couldn’t get any worse, Eli bumps into his high school ex, Nick Wu, who’s somehow hotter than ever. Divorced and in his forties, Nick’s world revolves around his father, his daughter, and his job. But even a busy life can’t keep him from being intrigued by the reappearance of Eli.
Against the backdrop of one weird Floridian Christmas, the two must decide whether to leave the past in the past…or move on together.
You can preorder here. I hope you will! Thanks, and I love you.

tell us about your cd collection!!! :3 which are your favs?? which were the ones you fought tooth and nail to get??
OH BOY Koi beloved I don't think you know what you're getting yourself into but if you insist I will oblige 👹👹
OK so the CD collection started in 2021 when Maisie Peters released her debut album YSUFT and I wanted some merch, but it only came in bundles, so I ended up acquiring 2 CDs of the album that way. About half a year later, I went into Half Price Books (a second hand book/record store) and hit the jackpot with 4 Taylor Swift CDs! I was just getting fully into Taylor's music and I thought it would be fun to try and collect CDs from her other albums!
Now at this point I have 6 CDs and no way to play them, they're just on display, so that Christmas my parents got me a CD player and that honestly just fueled my fixation lol. I went from "1 CD from each album" to "the standard edition, deluxe edition, and rerecorded edition of each album" (Taylor Swift). I also figured I might as well collect CDs of other albums I like as well, which is how I can to aquire SOUR, GUTS, emails I can't send, and a random classical music CD i bought from a lady I took a masterclass with (Zoya Shuhatovich).
When Maisie released her sophomore album, naturally I bought the standard CD + 2 of the collectors editions CDs. However, one of the collectors CDs came in wrong (there were 3 editions and they sent the wrong one) and I couldn't buy the one I wanted bc it was sold out. I tried like 3 times from a different website but I got THE SAME WRONG ONE EACH TIME and recently she released a 1 year anniversary merch drop and now the CD is sold out on that website too (but I'm kind of convinced it was sold out to begin with and mislabelled). So to answer your second question that would be my answer. Another answer would be Tortured Poets Department! I was in line when she first announced it and snagged a Manuscript Collector's Edition haha. I snagged the other collector's editions too but this was by far the hardest one I was in line for like an HOUR.
With Taylor's most recent albums, she's been doing like 4+ variations of each album and I am crazy and buy most of the variations so I have 5 Midnights variations, the 4 deluxe versions of 1989 TV (I didn't buy the Target ones) and the 4 collectors editions of Tortured Poets Department (also didn't buy the Target ones). I try to limit myself by only having 1 CD per cover art lol
During this year's Record Store Day, Maisie released a deluxe vinyl and of course I wanted it SO BAD so I went and I ended up also buying the Olivia Rodrigo/Noah Kahan RSD vinyl, a standard emails I can't send vinyl, and The Tortured Poets Department Bolter edition vinyl. I also already had a vinyl of Maisie's sophomore album bc that cover didn't have a CD version but I did not intend to end up with so many 😭 I wanted the Sabrina RSD Feather vinyl but they were sold out in my whole city :( I regret not asking about a Chappell one since it was before she got huge after those festivals and I might've had a chance 😔
But anyway, now I have 6 vinyls and no vinyl player, so I buy one for 20 bucks at a flea market (it works) and now I also have an Espresso vinyl, I preordered a Please Please Please vinyl, and also preordered 2 picture disks of Short n' Sweet (the standard picture disk and the Spotify exclusive one)
My fav CDs are my signed Maisie one (she wished me a happy birthday), my YSUFT CD (bc it was my first), and then probably emails I can't send (bc I just like the album lol). My fav vinyls are my two Maisie ones, one bc it was my first RSD buy and the other bc it's signed. They're both also really pretty.
The price of each CD has varied, I've bought some off eBay for less than 10 bucks and some for more than 20. I'm currently looking into an emails I can't send fwd Japan exclusive CD that's about $30 and I'm sooo close to buying it but I kinda don't have a job rn and I preordered a lot of Sabrina records sjxnjsjdns
Unfortunately, I was stupid during the Midnight release, and when she released signed versions I didn't buy one "because I already bought that version and it wasn't my favorite" and I cannot tell you how much I beat myself up for it bc now it's literally impossible to get a signed Taylor CD. I also missed the sale for signed Sabrina CDs by like 10 minutes and they were all sold out. I didn't buy a signed YSUFT CD bc I wasn't used to online shopping and was scared to, but I did get the signed TGW CD and she wished me a happy birthday teehee
I have a bunch of other signed merch (mostly Maisie) in form of posters, art cards, and T-shirts lol but that's a separate post
So yeah! That's my CD collection :) I will reblog this with a picture of what it looks like currently! (Or a video if that's what I find instead)
#this got really long#i wonder if i shouldve put the vinyl part in a different post#this took me a ridiculously long time to write if there are typos im not going back to fix them akxjmsnxnsms#yoo hoo!#miyamigo : dear-koi#cutie patooties 🫶✨

i’m trying to finish one last book before my year-end book post goes up so i’m gonna talk about games and tv first. not too many of either to talk about this year tbh but i apparently still have so many words.
no movies post bc i don’t log my films anywhere and i simply cannot remember what i watched. maybe i should make 2024 the year of using letterboxed. not enough to talk about with new music either. 2024 can also be the year of getting back into music.
games: i actually haven’t played much ffxiv this year. well in the first half i sorta did but i have barely touched it since like. august. except to keep my houses from getting demolished. i did finally finish myths of the realm last week, since they wrote that entire storyline for me specifically. i need the minion so bad yoship help.
in march capcom gave me a birthday prezzie with the release of the resident evil 4 remake which i’d had preordered since last year (the only games i’ll preorder and pay full price for are resis and ffxiv expansions). i don’t need to explain this to you. it’s incredibly good, the best of the extremely good remakes so far i think. i haven’t played the dlc yet but i’m excited to think there is more of this game i still have to play. btw ashley defense squad. i’ll brook no ashley slander in my house.
i can’t remember exactly when but i think it was some time in the summer that i finally, finally finished breath of the wild! i’m so behind the curve on this one, but i did at least get to start tears of the kingdom in the same year as everyone else. umm, i have to admit i remain ambivalent to this approach to zelda. i have to challenge myself to figure out how much of that is because iT’s DiFfErEnT but genuinely i think the things i dislike about it, i would still dislike even if i had nothing to compare it against. i really wish i thought it was the best zelda ever like so many do but i guess i just struggle to find a flow state with either of them which is why it’s taking me so fucking long to finish them lmao. still obviously extremely good and beautiful! like still head and shoulders above most games, easily, a good time overall!! (wish nintendo wasn’t the way that it is.)
i should mention that one day in july i fucked around in catlateral damage while streaming for bella. this is a very basic game, literally you are just a cat’s paw knocking things over, but man when you just need a brain-free giggle? it did its job.
also in july i played the sequel to oxenfree, which is a game that i love. this game didn’t click with me quite as much, i haven’t revisited it since i finished it, but there are probably also other reasons i shan’t get into that aren’t the game’s fault. idk i feel a bit unqualified to give a final verdict without playing it to completion but i guess the fact that i’ve had it for months and not bothered to do that yet is a kind of verdict in itself since with oxenfree i went straight back in till i got that final ending and platinum trophy.
for basically all of autumn i of course played baldur’s gate 3. i’m very sad that my extreme anhedonia has hit before i could play the new epilogue. i tried to load up one of my finished games but i ran into a problem because the only way to back up your saves is in the cloud so you can’t shuffle files around or make copies, only overwrite, and don’t get me STARTED again or i’ll start spitting i’m so SICK of PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT AAAAAHH. anyway it’s a pretty good game. i won’t be surprised or mad if neil wins the bafta but it really really should be samantha please if there’s justice in this world.
tv: season 3 of only murders in the building. umm, idk. it’s not a revolutionary show but it’s comforting, it doesn’t feel stale yet, and there’s just a lot of talent at work here. just fun to watch.
i watched almost all of neon genesis evangelion but couldn’t finish it because i decided to have an (unrelated) emotional breakdown instead. i’ll finish it eventually if for no other reason than i owe it to phil. shinji is baby.
finally got to the first season of our flag means death. just a delight. i love fun pirate adventures and i love the queers. unfortunately watched it right before the second season released and haven’t gotten to that yet.
did watch the second season of good omens though. i think they made the right choice to scale it back because honestly once you’ve averted the apocalypse trying to outdo yourself becomes a fool’s errand. also, jon hamm’s butt what who said that.
that’s it i think. as i said no season 2 of ofmd, not even the new flanagan yet which i had really been looking forward to for a long time. i dunno ya girl is struggling to find any pleasure in life atm.
#thought this post was gonna be short#but then remembered like two more games#and i watched way more tv than i thought#wish i could tell you about the movies but i really cannot. remember.

Kujou Tenn - i-Hake! - Part 1: First Episode
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Tenn: Hello everyone. I’m Tenn from TRIGGER.
Tenn: Today we’ve come to the “Seven colours” amusement park for the project “i-HAKE - We’ll Lend Idols’ Hands”
Tenn: Actually I came here pretty often when I was a child. It’s so nostalgic…
Staff: So, you got to come here before! Was there any attraction you liked?
Tenn: I liked overlooking the park from the ferris wheel. The show was also amazing. More than attractions, my goal was to attend that
Tenn: It was a show with circus tricks, but the first time I watched it I was very moved. I used to save my pocket money and came here many times…
Staff: Did you? Then, today’s job probably fits you
Tenn: Really? I can’t wait to find out what I’m supposed to do
Staff: Yeah! Now, let’s introduce the support guests!
Tenn: Fufu...actually, I happened to hear a voice saying excellent before
Iori: You see? I told you, Rokuya san! To not speak with such a loud voice!
Nagi: Oh! I was very lucky to have you with me when I won the preorder war!
Tenn: Take care of me today
Iori: Take care of us. We got caught before the introduction, didn't we?
Nagi: Hi, Kujou shi! You did well in guessing it was me!
Tenn: No, Gaku and Ryuu also attract attention. You’re just the same
Nagi: Fufufu. I’ll acquire some spy skills someday. Anyway, Iori, shall we introduce today’s job?
Iori: Yes. Ready...
Iori&Nagi: We’ll have a part in the renewal of Seven Colours amusement park’s show!
Tenn: In the show…!?
Park staff: Hello everybody. Thank you so much for accepting our request
Tenn: Ah… you’re a park staff member. Nice to meet you, I’m Kujou Tenn from TRIGGER. Take care of me
Park staff: Yes. I’m really happy I could meet you
Tenn: Will we get to appear in the renewal?
Park staff: Actually it’s been decided the venue will be renovated, and the show will be renewed accordingly
Park staff: Just when we were thinking about the opening ceremony we saw Kujou Tenn’s performance on TV, and we thought to ask you to join the show
Park staff: Kujou san, Izumi san, Rokuya san...let’s ignite the show together!
Tenn: Being entrusted to such an important moment is truly an honour. Take care of me
Iori: I also visited this place with my brother when I was a child. Let us help you with that.
Nagi: Your enthusiasm touched my heart. This place’s desire is always to create wonderful things
Nagi: The circus was performed by a dance orchestra at my own home, so I could see it from up close. I hope I can make use of that knowledge.
Park staff: A-at your own home…?
Iori:... Rokuya san, you should understand that there are only a limited number of people you can talk about your royal story to
Tenn: Fufu. Looks like it’s becoming a lively project
Park staff: Well, it’s time to change your clothes!
Shade in and out
Tenn:...well, that’s the outfit
Nagi: You really look good as a circus director, Kujou shi. But I think my outfit is better
Tenn: Thank you. I’ll do my best not to lose
Nagi: Meow! I’m trying to pretend to be a white cat
Tenn:....anyway, don’t you think Izumi san is taking a long time?
Nagi: He was behind me until a few minutes ago….
Nagi: Iori! Come on out, please!
Iori:.........
Nagi: Oh! What happened, Iori? Hiding yourself like that…
Iori: N-no...it’s nothing
Tenn: What about the assertiveness you were showing just a short while ago? Perhaps, you’re ashamed of your cat outfit?
Iori: It’s not like that…!
Nagi: Got it…! You were trying to acquire spy skills before me
Iori: Y-yes. Yes. That’s the reason. Since I’m wearing this dress, I think I’ll act just like a cat
Nagi: That’s wonderfully professional of you, Iori!
Tenn: Fufu, fine. I thought that a black cat really suited you, but you’re identifying as one too
Iori: That sounds obvious to me. I’m not ashamed at all of wearing such a fluffy outfit
Park staff: The outfits look really good on you!
Tenn: White cat, black cat… then I’ve received a whip….
Tenn: Who have I been casted as?
Park staff: You’re an apprentice trainer of wild animals
Park staff: Izumi san, Rokuya san...you’re the trainer’s cat buddies!
Iori: C-cat buddies…?
Nagi: Wow! Just like Cocona's buddy! The magic angel Cocoron!
Tenn: Is this a fantasy set up?
Park staff: Yes! The apprentice trainer Kujou san has a master. By chance, when the cat buddies were playing with the master’s whip, they somewhat became humans.
Park staff: The apprentice is fascinated by the power of the whip and, ignoring his master's warnings, with the strong desire of giving the lonely circus new life, he takes one animal after another and gives them a human appearance. gradually losing control of that power
Park staff: Finally he decides to communicate with his buddies, who wanted to support him. All the animals then switch back to their real form and they make the show a great success and the circus becomes prosperous as well
Tenn: He had the strong desire to make the circus a lively place, but he did it in the wrong way… and then he got help from the cats
Nagi: What a wonderful story! With just your explanations I felt the story overflowing more and more inside me!
Iori: Understood. That’s the background behind this appearance
Tenn: Let’s go for it, mister black cat
Iori: I’ll do my best even without you telling me to
Nagi: In order to impersonate cats, shall we do some meowing training?
Iori: There are more important things to practice!
Iori: Sorry, what are we supposed to do in the show?
Park staff: Dancing and singing, of course! Make everybody excited, please!
Nagi: That’s our speciality!
Tenn: Just...that?
Park staff: Yes! The ceremony is only one month away, we're working on a tight schedule...
Park staff: We’d like to convey the atmosphere of a musical, with singing and dancing
Tenn: ….Understood
Tenn: Sorry, may I ask if it’s possible for us to see the cast members’ practice?
Park staff: Ah...of course! Please, follow me!
Tenn: *runs after*
Iori: Kujou san got really into it, didn't he?
Nagi: The impeccable center of TRIGGER, Kujou shi… It’s invaluable, being able to see this spirit of his up close
Iori: Yes. We also need to take it seriously
Nagi: Of course. Isn’t meowing a serious thing, too?
Iori: Hold your tongue!
Shade in and out
Tenn:...amazing…
Nagi: The instruments they throw into the air, seem to be attracted by their hands. This is just like magic...
Iori: All of them are doing this with a light hand, but every technique must be pretty hard
Park staff: Making you happy is truly a honour
Iori: Also the number of instruments they throw into the air is remarkable. I wonder if they will do that during the show
Tenn: There are also hoops, sticks, diabolos and cigar boxes...
Park staff: You’re very well informed!
Tenn:...so. There’s something I need to talk to you about
Iori: It’s fine with me
Nagi: Let’s do it!
Tenn: Fufu. I haven't said nothing yet
Tenn: Staff, please. Singing and dancing is okay, but we’d like to challenge ourselves with this art too
Park staff: What….! Are you sure!?
Tenn: I don’t want to give only what I’m asked. I want to give more
Tenn: These partners of mine will follow me, I suppose?
Iori: Don’t underestimate us, mr apprentice trainer of wild animals
Nagi: YES! Let’s perform our combination
Tenn: Told you
Park staff: Understood. We’ll get on with it. Take care of us
Tenn: Let’s give something incredible. Take care of me, the two of you
Iori&Nagi: Yes…!

Ranking the books I read in April
aka just ranting about the books I read in april pls ignore me
1. The Space Between Worlds - Micaiah Johnson
I cannot believe this book wasn’t nominated for a Hugo! I like the Hugo list (of the books I’ve read) but cmon. This book is like if you combined the social commentary in The City We Became and the queerness of Harrow the Ninth. Seriously this book had everything I wanted: parallel universes, great character development, social commentary, woc sapphic slow burn, satisfying ending. Also I feel like the title is paying homage to W. E. Dubois which is cool. “Between me and the other world, there is ever an unasked question: How does it feel to be a problem?” Like there is just this very cool idea of talking about other worlds as in literally other universes but also different worlds due to social and racial hierarchies.
2. Plain Bad Heroines - Emily m. Danforth
Horror, Hollywood, boarding school, everyone is gay, the narrator talks directly to the reader and it is hilarious, copious footnotes, have I mentioned how many sapphics there are? It’s hard to keep track. Plus polyamory. I just really loved this book and I felt it all came together in a way that was worth it.
3. Steel Crow Saga - Paul Krueger
This godamn book. I loved this book so much. I was so ready to yell about it on tumblr and tell people to read it. But apparently the author is someone who has harassed a lot of women so...uh...yeah. Nevermind I guess.
I do want to say it is the most accurate depicition of a Sherlock Holmes superfan that I have ever seen in media.
4. The Tiger’s Daughter - K. Arsenault Rivera
What if we went on a long trip on horseback and we were both lesbian warriors...jk unless…
Yeah so I loved this book so much. A lot of it is about navigating familial responsibility, fighting literal and metaphorical demons, fighting the patriarchy, fighting your anger, fighting tigers, etc...and yet I kept thinking to myself “this is the most romantic book I have ever read” and honestly I am gonna stick by that. It also has the “you think me a monster so I will become one” trope which is great. It is set in an Asian-based fantasy world and I did read a goodreads review that said it was as accurate to the countries it draws inspiration from as Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse is to the Russian and Scandinavian cultures it takes from. So that’s not great.
5. Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo
Speaking of! A few months ago I tried to read Shadow and Bone in preparation for the tv show and I could not finish it. The writing was...bad. Anyway I really liked Six of Crows and even though, yeah it’s tropey (I’m looking at you, Helnik backstory), there’s a reason those tropes work. Plus you cannot go wrong with a heist. About halfway through I did realize that there are six mcs and three couples so its kinda just like a giant triple date, which really changed how I read the whole story.
I’m very glad I did read it before seeing the tv show because I was able to be appropriately excited for the Crows and catch the Wylan reference and everything, but I also got to see the Alina stuff without having to read about it.
6. Crooked Kingdom - Leigh Bardugo
I think I somehow liked this even more than Six of Crows, but for narrative simplicity I’ll put it after. I really like it when you put people in an impossible situation and see how they figure it out. Especially if they get out in a clever and reasonably possible way that ties together many different plot threads and has a few good fake-outs. This did all of that, and also developed every character in a way I found satisfying (except [redacted] *cry emoji*).
Kaz pulls a Baru Cormorant with some money stuff and now I wonder if they would be friends.
I read this after watching the show which was good because I knew who Zoya and Genya were but bad because there is a point where Nina is like “here is how shadow and bone ends.” She’s just talking to Mattias and casually spoiling everything for me. So there goes my dreams of living spoiler free until the end of the show.
7. The Miseducation of Cameron Post - Emily m Danforth
My expectations for this book were....very different than it turned out, and I’m glad for it. After reading Plain Bad Heroines I shouldn’t have been surprised at how well written it is. I really appreciated how nuanced it is. It doesn’t spell out its ideas or themes and therefore lets you really sit with them. I would rank it higher but I don’t really enjoy reading about high school.
8. Foundryside - Robert Jackson Bennett
I love a good found family, especially if at the beginning of the book they are on opposing sides. Enemies to friends = best trope! Also it’s sapphic that’s always good. But the best part of this book was the worldbuilding which was so cool.
9. Malice - Heather Walter
Remember what I was saying about “you think me a monster so I will become one”? This book is the definition of that trope. Women becoming unhinged after being treated like shit, we love to see it! Especially if it’s gay. I do have to say, authors who write duologies where the first book ends on a cliffhanger, I see what you’re doing but yes, I will be preordering the next book.
10. Fugitive Telemetry - Martha Wells
I don’t have much to say because Murderbot is so consistently excellent. uh why is it so cathartic when xenophobes disrespect Murderbot and it’s humans step in and shut that shit down. Gets me every single time.
11. Queen of Coins and Whispers - Helen Corcoran
This book was like half romance half politics and unfortunately I did not find the politics that interesting or well written. But the romance was A+. It reminded me of Priory of the Orange Tree a LOT. Though significantly less dragons and I’m taking many points off for that.
12. The First Sister - Linden A. Lewis
I wanted to like this book a little more than I did. There was just maybe too much body horror for me. Interesting characters and world though. There was a location named Cytherea that they mentioned a lot and it was very distracting. I guess I still have tlt brainrot.
13. Shorefall - Robert Jackson Bennett
I think this book was well plotted out but it didn’t quite have my attention like Foundryside did. Also yet another book where a woman’s girlfriend ends up in her head. This time no one had to die so that’s nice. TM and SD take notes!
14. The Deathless Girls - Kiran Milwood Hargrave
Ok I LOVED the Mercies by KMH so I was a little disappointed in this Dracula retelling. It got interesting in the last 50 pages, but unfortunately that is not enough for me.
proud of myself for not reading a single straight book this April
#I just want to rant about the books I'm reading I doubt anyone will read this#I read a lot of good books in april!#six of crows is 2/3 straight#ninej when?!#my rankings

Part 9

@multishipper-trash
I switched to calling him Shoyo since everyone except Kageyama calls him that but I’ll probably go back to Hinata in a different part (also bc Natsu is technically a Hinata so)
•
“A letter!!” Natsu announced from the door, her feet slapping against the wood of the stairs as she made her way to Shoyo’s room. “Nii-chan!!
“Coming!”
Natsu bounced on her heels impateintly, listening to the rustle of Shoyo’s sheets. Shoyo yelped and then began hissing something she couldn’t quite make out, and then after a few minutes of relative quiet, Tobio and Shoyo shouted at each other before Tobio stormed out, barging past her without patting her head like usual. Natsu wondered if he had a fever, since his face was the color of steamed crab.
Huh, so did Shoyo. Maybe they were both sick?
“Nii-chan.” She proffered the letter, shifting her weight.
Shoyo shook his head, his flush lightening enough that it only stained his cheeks. “Thanks, Natsu,” he said, smiling as he ruffled her hair. She grinned up at him and turned on her heel, padding over to the kitchen to rattle off what she learned in school the day prior to their mom.
The letter Shoyo held was from the “Kenma” that had made a contract with him the month before, with a simple wax seal of a cat with headphones on. The envelope was crisp and pristine, although the penmanship of the address lines was constantly fluctuating between beautiful and scribbly.
Shoyo glanced around, making sure Kageyama wasn’t nearby, then retreated into his bedroom, ignoring the tangle of sheets that had collapsed to the floor during the earlier...incident... and instead settling into his desk.
‘Hello, Shoyo.
There’s more funding in the envelope inside the one you pulled this out from. Have fun with it, I guess.
I was wondering if you want to meet up with me at some point. I’ll leave my contact stuff at the bottom of this letter... Leave the scary guy you who follows you around at home please. I don’t want to get murdered.
Anyway. We can discuss the details for the date meet and greet when we meet up over text, if you want to actually do that.
Kenma.
XXX-XXX-XXXX’
Shoyo found the wad of bills and decided that he’d make sure ‘Kenma’ would let him pay for food and stuff for when they met up, guilt gnawing at him for taking charity. It wasn’t like he wasn’t giving anything for it, but he didn’t actually feel any difference in his mana supply—not that he could even actually tell that there was mana in him. Maybe the contracts just weren’t taking as much as he thought they would be? —Like everyone taking five yen when he has a billion yen: pretty much negligible. (—Thank you Tsukishima for using that word. Hinata just hoped he wouldn’t use it to describe his test score increases relative to his grade again.)
Shoyo snagged his phone off the nightstand (pointedly ignoring Kageyama’s beside it), tossing himself onto his mattress and kicking his feet as he sent a greeting.
•
Kuroo had himself draped over Kenma’s bed, scrolling idly through messages Lev sent to their groupchat and rolling his eyes. He glanced over at the partial-blonde, who was so close to the TV, Kuroo wondered if he’d eventually pass through the screen and actually enter the game.
Beside his head, Kenma’s phone flashed and pinged, and he’d never seen Kenma move so fast. The game was paused and Kenma was lain beside Kuroo in an instant, his eyes flicking across the screen with overwhelming intensity.
“Did a preorder drop or something?”
Kenma completely ignored him. Kuroo tried to quell his urge to annoy his best friend with dramatics.
The shorter spent five minutes reading whatever message he had received, probably rereading it multiple times if Kuroo were to go off the fact that Kenma hadn’t scrolled.
Finally, after an agonizing period of tense silence, Kenma’s thumbs got to work, typing and retyping words. Kenma mouthed the sentences and scrunched his nose periodically, probably noticing syntax errors.
It was a little bizarre, since Kenma didn’t usually care about what he wrote or how he wrote it. Kuroo once had to read the words “skin $100 said no moth,” with his own eyes, and the message still sometimes haunts him. (Kenma meant to type, “My mother said no to buying the $100 skin,” but didn’t correct himself afterward.)
“Do I add a ‘please’ when saying where to meet me or is that desperate?”
“Do you actually want my opinion or are you talking to yourself?”
Kuroo sighed as Kenma continued his pondering, muttering about lines from a few otome games. Kuroo leaned over and scanned the message, as neither of them had ever been particular about privacy, biting his lip to keep from laughing.
“Hey,” Kenma snapped, falling out of his deliberations. He rolled over and away, which led to him slipping to the floor.
Kuroo burst into cackles, only catching his breath after Kenma tossed a remote at his head. “W... Who’s got ya all riled u-up?” he tried to inquire, panting.
“None of your business.”
“Is ‘Shoyo’ a special friend I should know about?” Kuroo waggled his eyes, dodging an amiibo that sailed through the air and left a noticeable dent in Kenma’s wall.
“N-No.”
It was quite clear that Kuroo did not believe him one bit, his Hyena-like laughter rippling through the air. “You’re lying—your ears are red! Your blushing so hard!”
“Shut up!” Kenma hid under the covers at the foot of the bed, trying to look back at his phone. Kuroo, deciding that he was fine with dying there, poked at Kenma’s head, seeking amusement from teasing the half-blonde.
“Huh?” Kenma was stock-still, not even moving when Kuroo prodded at him. “Kenma, you okay? Are you dead?” The blankets were raised, Kuroo peering upside-down at his friend.
Dead seemed like an understatement—after all, at least then you would see the life draining out of the body. No, Kenma appeared as though his soul was sucked out with a vacuum and his body sat empty while his spirit struggled against the vacuum bag.
Kuroo snatched Kenma’s phone out of his hands, his friend not twitching or reacting at all. The only indication that Kenma was still existent was the slow paling of his skin.
“What’s got you so.... Oh. Well... Yep, that’ll do it.”
The last line of his message, which he probably was intending to delete—or at least rewrite—simply read, ‘I look forward to our date.’
•
“He won’t think that you wanted it to be a date if I come,” Kuroo explained as he shoved Kenma toward the cafe, still quite sympathetic of his poor friend’s pain. Kenma had his hood pulled up and kinda seemed tempted to drift into traffic, so Kuroo just kept a better hold of his shoulders as he drove him forward.
“Maybe he’ll take pity on me and stab me with a teaspoon.”
“Maybe you’ll be less morbid, how about that?”
“We both know that’s very unlikely.” Kenma managed to open the door before Kuroo flattened him against it.
“True,” he sighed. “So, you see him?”
Kenma glanced around, fingertips rubbing against his nails within his pockets as he sought out Shoyo.
After a moment of peering around, he spotted sunrise eyes and a mane of flame, as well as the scent of full, unfettered magic wafting through the air.
“There,” Kenma breathed as Kuroo straightened, eyes fixating on the summoner. Kuroo whistled to himself.
“I’m counting myself lucky that you’re not territorial.”
Kenma squinted at his best friend, though he let his withering glare fall exasperatedly. “I’m getting there.”
Kuroo’s smile grew with mischief. “Too late.” His tongue slipped across his upper lip.
Across the cafe, Shoyo shivered, glancing around and catching their predatory gazes. Unlike prey, his eyes didn’t waver, and their excitement only grew.

That's So Mean!
REAL LIFE: SCANDAL COUPLE: TBS X READER RATING: FUNNY
"Hello everyone! I wasn't vlogging today. and now I am because... why not I guess. I think mostly the camera wasn't charged and now it is so I'm just filming" y/n explained sat on her sofa with her laptop
"what are you filming?" Thomas asked beside her clearly playing some sort of video game
"nothing today. I need to do some prep for a video with mila next week" she explained "Incase you weren't looking or just confused where this strange voice came from, Thomas is here"
"Hello" he waved
"You don't live with me.... and yet he's here again"
"No I don't live here, and yet I'm always here"
"You are, I didn't even have food in today"
"Ohh shut up I don't just hang out with you for food"
"sometimes" she laughs "No today your actually here for kinda a good reason" suddenly it flipped showing the tv "He wanted to play pokemon"
"Yes I did"
"fun fact I have a switch. and Thomas doesn't so he comes and plays pokemon somedays" y/n laughs "You have a .... is t a Ps4 you have? or an xbox I can't remember?"
"How can't you remember?"
"I remember you going on about it when they both came out because you couldn't decide if you wanted the ps4 or the new xbox"
"I have a Ps4 y/n"
"Yeah" she laughs "Somebody wanted to play bloodborne"
"Not really, I just didn't want the new xbox when it came down to it"
"Yeah and then like six months later I bought a switch and thomas came over and plaid my switch and immediately went-"
"I should have bought a switch" he finished
"you can still get one there not that expensive now"
"its not the thing that's expensive its the games, anything good is expensive"
"Thats true, the switch games are really expensive I think. for a lot of the gams that are on Wii and on pc there really more expensive on switch" she explained "Benny wasn't bad, I got that for like twenty quid"
"Thats not bad..."
"Umm, the Animal crossing was like fifty because I got it on sale and preorder, but I was happy with that because I wanted a little island with all my friends" she smiled "I don't know how much pokemon was, because I didn't buy it. You bought it for me, for my birthday"
"I did, that's very true."
"And yet your the one who comes over and plays it most of he time"
"Don't you like it?"
"Of course I like it I just like fucking around, like running around the wilds gathering pokemon you're like the only one who does the gym badges and stuff" she smiled "Can we talk through how freaking! overpowered your scorebunny is though"
"he's not that overpowered"
"Thomas he's like level sixty-three... you do not need him that overpowered"
"He's my starter he has to be the best!"
"I genuinely believe you only picked him because he's a bunny."
"He's adorable"
"He is, I like sobble though. sobble was my starter"
"You just felt bad for him because he cries"
"yeah I don't like when he evolves though, he was really adorable as sobble and then he evolves into.. I don't know I can't remember and he just looks like an angsty teen"
"An angsty teen?"
"yeah with like the coloured streak and the 'I don't give a shit old man' stance" she smiled "Like you when you where sixteen"
"Hey!" he complained "You're so mean to me today"
"don't like it get out my house"
"What have you got to film with Mila anyway?"
"I have to film, a childhood make up video. I'm like gathering up tones of the stuff we both used when we where like younger, like the cheer lip balms and like lelly kelly eye shadow"
"Ohh my god. I remember that stuff. remember the lelly kelly stuff because Ava had some"
"Did she?"
"Yes and I remember that like shitty fake baby powered smell that it had"
"Yes! that smell. I never had them though they were always way too expensive. But my friend did and she was just like the most pastel pink human possible"
"it was a weird time... for mainstream make up"
"It was, I thnk its kinda funny because you have what I would say as like a large makeup knollwege. Not like massive but I thnk you probably know more than most thirty-year-old straight men"
"Do I?"
"Yes, due to your occupation. and Ava I think Ava helped" she laughed "Did ava ever do your make up thomas?"
"many times. still does acutely" he laughs "if I go over and its like Christmas or like Halloween especially then she always does my make up for me"
"Awww, You have a way better time with Ava then I do with my sister, but I think that's because you and ava aren't as far apart in age as me and my sister"
"That's probably true."
"Do you have a fun make up memory from that time?"
"I don't know.... I remember Ohh shit yeah. if you can find this I swear to go I will sell you my car" he explained
"what?"
"Back in like school I had a girlfriend... well I say girlfriend it was like the -"
"The like ohh so and so likes you and so and so likes you and then a week later your like in love and going to get married"
"yes! it was like exactly that. I won't say her name but she was... she wasn't that smart"
"Ohh the shade, I think I know who you're talking about based on the time frame"
"no before Issy"
"Ohh! I thought it was issy."
"No I liked her at that age but we were not a thing until much much later"
"Ooooohh so this is a before Issy girl"
"Yes, and she was fairly pretty, but she had this bright purple lipgloss. and Oh my fucking god it was delicious!" He explained "I literally would just make out with her purely to just taste that lipgloss"
"that's really mean" she laughed
"I liked her.... Ish. I liked the lipgloss more then I liked her. we would like hang out and have little dates and that would be all we would do just kiss"
"That's so mean!" she laughs "what did it taste like?"
"Like... the blue raspberry slushies, mixed wth strawberry bubble tape"
"Ooohh.. that does sound nice"
"exactly"
"if there is a girl out there who remembers making out with thomas about that age and had this lipgloss, A what was it called, B hit me up so you can come and punch him for being such a dick"
"I was like fourteen, let me off"
"Fourteen and using girls for there tasty lipgloss. the early warning sings where there"
"for what?"

Apples & Cherries {Katsuki Bakugo}
A/N: Please be sure to reblog, comment, review, and like if you enjoy! Feedback is what keeps me motivated! This is pretty self-indulgent and the fact that my island is named Isla Nova makes even more obvious lol but I hope you’ll enjoy regardless. Also I chose to ignore that the Japanese version of the game apparently adds Island to whatever name you put because I really didn’t want to change what I had in mind!
Never a stranger to late nights in the dorms, she wasn’t surprised to see the lights on in the common room or hear the faint digital noise floating into the kitchen where she stood searching the freezer for a popsicle at almost 1am. Once she had the treat in hand she turned to see who was playing what, but even slouched low on the couch, the shouting gave them away.
“How the FUCK am I supposed to catch this shitty fish if it doesn’t fucking SPAWN?” he complained, grey smoke rising in a thin line from beyond her view.
On the screen she could see a bouncing blonde villager with a fishing rod standing halfway down the pier jutting out into the dark water. In the distant corner of the screen she could see an object floating lazily to the left, and her original idea of walking away was overcome with the need to see the prize within.
“There’s a balloon coming in from the right,” she said, apparently startling him as he sat up quickly and whipped around with a crackling palm. Upon seeing her he lowered his hand with a click of his tongue and turned back to the television, his villager running up the large expanse of beach to shoot down the balloon. In his pocket, a single gold nugget was unwrapped.
“Don’t sneak up on people,” he grumbled, slouching down again.
She nibbled on her popsicle, the cherry flavor pleasant on her tongue. “What were you trying to catch just before I came in?”
“Why do you fuckin’ care?” he snapped, his villager gathering shells on the shoreline.
“I play too and I’ve caught all the fish leaving at the end of the month,” she said as she scuffed her slippered foot against the carpet. “Maybe I could help?”
“Don’t need help,” he said bluntly.
Crunching another piece of her popsicle, she stayed quiet for a moment as she watched his villager stalk the beach for fish to catch. At one point her eyes wandered from the screen to the TV stand itself and she nearly choked on her last bite.
“You got the limited-edition console?!” she nearly screamed, coming closer to where he sat on the couch. “I wanted one so bad but I didn’t have the money to preorder!”
Bakugo sighed and set his joycon butterfly to his left, turning to face her once more with a tired expression. “Are you just going to stand here and bother me until I tell you what I’m trying to catch? Because if that’s the case it’s the blue fuckin’ marlin. Now go away.”
“You were yelling about how it wasn’t spawning, right? If you make a shit ton of bait and keep using it off the pier you can force it to spawn.”
Picking up his joycons he silently resumed his search for more fish. Figuring he truly didn’t want her help she sighed and moved to go to the elevators; she had her popsicle and that could be her victory for the night.
“How much is a shit ton?”
She stopped, teeth sunk halfway into the frozen treat. Turning back to him, he was still facing the TV but his head was cocked as if listening for her answer.
“It depends,” she finally said. “It took me about forty to catch a tuna.”
“Forty?!” he said loudly, moving to meet her gaze. “How the hell am I supposed to farm forty fucking clams and craft bait and it could still not be enough? I’ll be up the rest of the damn night!”
“I…” she cleared her throat and tried again, “I could help you. If we both take a side of your island we can get a bunch and then while you use it I can keep digging. But only if you want.”
He was quiet for a moment and she finished her popsicle as he considered her offer. Finally, his eyes determined, he nodded.
“Alright. Bring shit to make extra shovels because you aren’t chopping any of my trees if yours break.”
She nodded eagerly. “Yeah, sure, just tell me your Dodo code!”
Bakugo watched her sprint into the kitchen to get rid of the popsicle stick before returning to stand by the couch, her hesitance to sit next to him obvious. But even more obvious was a greater threat to his mission for the blue marlin.
“Where’s your phone?” he asked casually. When she furrowed her brows and pulled it from within her shirt as he’d expected, he followed with, “If you’ve got your Switch in there too I’ll actually be impressed.”
Her face went red immediately and she pointed behind her weakly. “I-I’ll just uh…”
He ignored her stuttering and started digging up clams, allowing her to trail off and run to the elevator where she let out a frustrated sigh as the doors closed. Why couldn’t she keep it together?
Going into her room she grabbed her Switch, slightly self-conscious of her choice of cherry blossom custom skin but she pushed it down as she started the game. Once it was loaded and her villager had stepped out of the house she ran back to her orchard and gathered six of her native fruit, an additional offering to her explosive classmate.
She boarded the elevator and was able to gather enough materials for three shovels just in time for the soft ding to sound and the doors to open at the first floor. Rushing back to the common room, she found Bakugo still on the couch but shifted to lean against the right armrest. Before she could think too much about their close proximity she took a seat to the far left and entered her airport.
“Got enough materials to make three more shovels,” she said. “And I grabbed some of my native fruit in case you didn’t have any. They’re cherries.”
“I could use ‘em. You got a thing for cherries or something?” he asked, remembering the scent of the popsicle and eyeing the red stain on her lips.
“Oh, uh, yeah. They’re my favorite fruit,” she replied. “You can judge me if you want but I reset my game until I got cherries. Got ‘em third try!”
Bakugo shrugged lightly as his villager went into his airport. “I can’t judge. Did the same thing to get apples.”
“Are they your favorite?”
“No.”
“Oh, then why did you want them?”
“Are you going to ask this many questions all night?” he asked as his game connected to the dorm’s wifi for a code.
She sighed. “I’m just trying to be nice and make pleasant conversation. I’ll shut up now. Sorry.”
He was quiet, glancing at her as the screen displayed the code and she typed it in, and then exited the small lobby to stand at the end of the ramp to wait for her. They both watched her descent and arrival to his island, her villager titled as an Untamed Lass smiling cutely in a green dress and black beret as she also exited the airport and met him on the grass, dropping cherries and standing back so he could pick them up.
“I wanted apples because when I got my quirk, the first thing I ever blew up was an apple. My parents couldn’t decide if they were excited for my quirk manifesting or upset that they had to give me another bath.”
“That’s kinda the coolest,” she giggled. Catching sight of the black flag with an explosion symbol in the corner of the screen she added, “Your flag’s really cool too. Anyway, do you want me to take the left side of your island’s beaches so you can stay near the pier?”
“That’s fine.”
She set off to her assigned beach, a printed shovel in her villager’s hands. Just as she was stepping onto the sand, she gasped at the sight of a certain squirrel sitting on the beach with a sandwich in hand.
“You have Marshal?! I’m so jealous!”
“First one at my campsite.”
“I love that little blonde bastard.”
His eyebrows lifted at the fondness the would-be insult held but didn’t comment on it as she fell silent, the soft music coming from her console almost synched with the tune coming from the dorm TV. Every so often he could make out the sound of her shoveling up a clam and excited notes trilling at the discovery.
The quiet peace continued between them as they crafted bait at two benches set aside from the pier, her dropping the finished product for him to begin using and then dashing away to find more clams to continue her little farming operation. He gathered the offered bait and stood at the end of the pier to drop the little flakes, backing up when the fish’s shadow seemed large enough for the blue marlin.
It was slow going a first, the bait seemingly wasted as a majority of the shadows were too small to even be worth casting out his line. When he did actually see the right size, he wound up with a ridiculous amount of seabass and the odd olive flounder. He was beginning to understand why she said it could take a while as the sixtieth bait gave a tiny silhouette sure to be a seahorse or clownfish.
A frustrated sigh escaped him as she dropped twenty more bait on the beach before setting out for more. He put them into his inventory and resigned himself to the fact that he was going to be on the couch the entire night tossing bait into the water. Taking his place on the pier he dropped the flakes only to see a large shadow appear, his hope returning just a bit as he cast out but deflating when the harsh vibrations of a good catch didn’t begin as it bit. Then, as if catching a seabass wasn’t bad enough, his fishing rod disintegrated in his villager’s hand.
“For fuck’s sake I hate this,” he growled, eyes closed and fingers pressed to his temples when his joycons were cast aside.
“Here.”
He looked to his left and when she nodded toward the TV he saw the small red toolbox in the sand behind him.
“Thanks,” he grunted as his villager picked it up. “For this and the bait, I guess.”
She shrugged. “It’s nothing.”
Bakugo knew it was just a bunch of addicting pixels they’d paid entirely too much money for but he felt like it was something. He was an unpleasant bastard to be around and he’d snapped at her half a dozen times already in just the last thirty minutes but she’d offered to help and actually done it; it definitely wasn’t nothing so he resolved to be more cooperative if only slightly.
Shaking away his thoughts, bait number sixty-two was thrown and he cast his line, perking up at the heavy vibration in his hands. He didn’t want to get his hopes up when it was likely just an oarfish.
‘Yes! I caught a blue marlin! Listen to this fish. It’s got a point.’
“FUCK YEAH!”
She jumped at his shout but her face broke into a wide smile when she caught site of the large fish in his villager’s hands. She was happy he was able to check it off of his list and even happier that she was able to help even if it was only by digging up and crafting bait.
“You got it with plenty of time to spare!”
“It’s in the critterpedia and once I take the bastard to the museum I don’t give a fuck if I ever catch another one again!” he said.
She chuckled. “Well now that you’ve got your marlin I can head back to my island. Do you wanna kick me out or should I go back to the airport?
“Go back to the airport. Grab some apples on your way out.”
It was progress.
“Thanks, Bakugo.”
After that night their relationship changed from classmates to some semblance of friends who sent each other items in Animal Crossing. Bakugo had asked for her Switch code a few days later and added her through there and through the game to be best friends a week after that. Their text thread was created and almost explicitly used for the purpose of exchanging furniture and alerting the other as to when something was happening on their respective islands to interest them.
He had let her know when Redd showed up with all real art and a white rattan armchair which she had searched for since the game was released. She in turn sent him the black imperial bed he’d been praying would fall from a balloon each time he’d shot one down.
It was a good system, and one that allowed them to get closer to one another in real life too through conversations had about the game. Since the first night when she helped him get the blue marlin she had learned of his quirk manifesting to blow up an apple, that he spent extra for expedited shipping for an Apollo amiibo coin from the UK because he loved the eagle villagers the most due to a book on birds he had obsessively read when he was younger (he also wanted Queenie off of his island—“I kicked that bitch out the second I could!”), and his favorite activity was mountain climbing which is what inspired the jagged cliffs and custom made signs to indicate the sport was welcome on GroundZero.
“What’s the story behind your island’s name, if you have one?” she asked over their voice chat one night as they played. He’d gone home for the first half of the weekend while she stayed in the dorms but he was coming to her island to sell fish and get a model from the ridiculous beaver they both hated.
“You first,” he replied after a long minute.
She shrugged even though he couldn’t see her. “I picked Isla Nova because I think space is cool and novae are beautiful. A bright burst and then a slow fade is tragically poetic.”
“Bring the mood down why don’t you.”
“Your turn,” she reminded. When he was quiet for another drawn out moment, she furrowed her brows, ready to ask if he was still there. He finally broke the silence as she opened her mouth to call his name.
“The world watched All Might’s career end in the heart of Kamino that night,” he said softly. “You know the statue they put up? They called it the statue at ground zero and that it would stand as a reminder of the last act the Symbol of Peace had done to protect everyone. To… to protect some punk ass kid trying to be a hero who got himself kidnapped.”
Her heart broke at the subtle crack in his voice. “Bakugo…”
“That statue is gonna be there for the rest of my life as a reminder that I should’ve been stronger. All Might can tell me it wasn’t my fault until the end of time but I can’t stop feeling like it was. So if that statue is there to remind me that I wasn’t strong then, my hero name is gonna be there to remind me why I have to be strong now and exactly what type of hero I need to be.”
She wasn’t sure what she should say, her mind working to process everything she had just heard. It was no secret to those who paid attention that Bakugo had blamed himself for All Might’s retirement and was self-conscious of the fact the League had sought him out for his potential as a villain; he carried a lot of guilt for things outside of his control. And now he had taken one thing he had control over, his hero name, and built it around that guilt to resolve to be better. The name Ground Zero was his beginning as a real hero and he was willing for it to be his end.
“Does anyone else know about your hero name?”
“Not the backstory, no. Aizawa knows it’s what I put down for my provisional license. I told Best Jeanist first and Kirishima knows too, but other than that you’re the only one who knows the reason behind it.”
Her heartbeat sped up. “Thanks for telling me, Bakugo.”
“Whatever. Are you gonna talk to this buck-toothed asshole or what? He’s by the climbing walls.”
Just like that the mood shifted once again and the calmness of the game enveloped them both. Rainy weather was perfect for fishing and getting the most bells possible for their catches at the late hour, their villagers running about in their raincoats with hers a dotted light blue and his solid green. It was a nice escape, and she enjoyed the peace until she was back on her island and their call had ended.
As she was turning her light off to sleep, she returned to their earlier conversation around his island name and ultimately his hero name. It was strange to have a serious conversation with Bakugo and for it to hold as much meaning as it did made her shudder. On the other hand, it made her cheeks flush to think that he trusted her enough to speak about something so important to him. In two months they had gone from classmates who rarely spoke one on one to friends.
She had to sleep before the grin on her face stuck permanently.
It did return the next day when she found out that her island would play host to shooting stars that night and she eagerly texted Bakugo to let him know, well aware he hadn’t had a meteor shower since they started playing together.
All day her excitement had her wound tightly and hyper, her love of both astrology and space being indulged by Celeste and the beautiful event not able to happen soon enough. Once the blonde came home in time for the class to gather for dinner, he was teasing her for her jitters but happily making plans to meet in the common room around ten to play.
When the time came the common room was empty as expected, their classmates taking a night to themselves in their room after spending so much time with one another. Despite the television being free neither of them docked their consoles to play on the bigger screen, instead opting to play handheld and find a classic rock channel to provide background music to the stars.
Bakugo could admit to himself that he enjoyed this. Quiet music drifting through the air and bright stars across the dark blue sky on his screen was peaceful, something he didn’t get to experience often. He knew the girl sitting beside him was also a big reason as to why it was so nice. Strong, pretty, and sweeter than the nerikiri Sato had served after dinner, he was happy to have her next to him.
They sat together in comfortable silence wishing on the stars, each making their own wordless wishes and wondering if the other was truly making a wish and if so, what was it?
In truth, there were multiple wishes they each made. She wished that she continued to improve with her quirk training, for an opportunity at her preferred agency after the impending summer break, for a safe training camp this year. Bakugo wished for the skills to be number one, for the training to pay off and make him stronger, for the opportunity to redeem himself from Kamino. But they also shared one wish too—I wish there could be more between us.
Nearly an hour after they had sat down Bakugo turned to ask if she wanted to split the last few pieces of desert left over only to find her eyes closed and breathing steady, grip on her joycons slack around a darkened screen. Chuckling to himself, he gently took it from her hand and unlocked it. Tilting the screen up to the sky he held it in his lap next to his own and continued wishing on the stars falling across both screens.
By midnight she hadn’t woken up and his eyes were starting to droop. He kicked himself off of her island and saved her game as his villager returned to his own island, saving once he was able to. The noise of him turning off the TV woke her, her face scrunching cutely as she gained her bearings.
“How long was I asleep?” she asked with a yawn.
“’Bout an hour. I kept wishing on your game so you don’t miss out on any fragments tomorrow,” he said.
She smiled tiredly. “You’re my hero. Thank you, Bakugo.”
He didn’t think her calling him a hero should feel as amazing as it did, igniting a fire in his chest and warming him from the inside out. He wanted to be her hero just as much as he wanted to be a hero in general. He wanted to be her hero, but not as Bakugo. He wanted to be her hero as Katsuki, and maybe the way to get to that point was presenting itself.
“You don’t have to thank me, but if you really want to, how about we go to breakfast in the morning?” he suggested quietly, placing his Switch into it’s carrying case.
A grin bloomed across her face and she nodded eagerly, planning to meet him back in the common room at nine the next morning. He agreed easily. If their friendship could start in the common room, maybe a relationship could too if that’s where they met for a first date.
A/N: Please be sure to reblog, comment, review, and like if you enjoy! Feedback is what keeps me motivated! If you’re curious about all of Bakugo’s villagers, I did make a list but couldn’t find where I wanted to mention it so he has: Coach, Shari, Apollo, Bluebear, Lolly, Hugh, Marshal, Blanche, Rod, & Chrissy. “She” (to continue the self-indulgent nature of this lmao) has Lyman, Katt, Nibbles, Flurry, Olaf, Lobo, Filbert, Francine, Julia, and Papi!

Yan Izuku x quirkless Idol!reader
I'm almost sorry with how hyperspecific this... Also, this is definitely before he gets in to UA!!
Okay so first off, I feel like the thing that would make Izuku notice you, more than any of the thousands of other idols in the country, is the fact that you're quirkless.
He would probably just have the tv on for background noise and you and your group would be on some variety show introducing yourselves, and you would not only mention that you're quirkless but that you look up to All Might.
Bitch if that doesn't make something in him snap idk what will
Plus ur cute lmao
Anyway so Izuku would 100% be enthralled and as the show continues he falls for you more
You're really making his heart skip a beat with the All Might references in your jokes ngl
Like, he's genuinely laughing along bc you confidently told the host "I am here!" just to get smacked upside the head
And holy shit did he really sit through the entire show??? Oops lol
Anyway from now on he's hooked and oh snap your group is having a handshake event nearby next weekend? His ass is THERE
So he'll go to get a chance to meet you (and the other members but who tf are they lmao) and since he's a Fuckin Nerd he probably has a whole conversation planned out
But there's a fatal flaw
The only girl he's ever seen irl ever is his mother
Also you get like 5 seconds to talk to each member but that's not the point
You're the first one that he gets to shake hands with and his mind is instantly broken
Like holy shit you were cute on TV but irl???
Beautiful. Perfect. Legendary.
Izuku, once again being a Fuckin Nerd, prob has some All Might shit on him that you notice and you just get so pumped
You spend your short first meeting geeking out at him and as he's walking away, dumbstruck, he realizes
Uh oh
He's screwed
I mean, you're screwed too but you don't know it yet lmao
Anyway, that obsessiveness that he's got going on for heroes?
Expect that same amount of passion aimed at you. Just you.
This dude goes full on fanboy.
100% the type to preorder multiple copies whenever you guys have a new CD coming out to help boost sales
Probs one of those guys who posts about his purchase online tbh. But like only under a separate account
Goes to every local handshake event
Because he buys so many copies he definitely has multiple handshake tickets.
He uses all of them to loop around the line over and over again, all just to talk to you for just a few more seconds
He will ask you if you remember him at every event, without fail.
Even if you don't, you say you do bc holy hell do fans feel special when you say that lol
Anyway, after each event he'll write down what you wore, how your hair was styled, what your makeup looked like, what you talked about, etc etc.
Will read social media posts from other fans about their conversations/observations with you
One fan will post that they figured out the perfume you were wearing at an event and posts the name and pic of the bottle
Deku's a little freak and will go buy a bottle to hide under his bed so he can sniff it and think of you
Will send you gifts regularly
Reads your blog posts religiously and checks to see if you have any of his gifts in the background of your photos
Saves the pics to his phone if you do
He has an embarrassing amount of your merch under his bed
Including magazines where you maaay have had done a beach shoot
Enough said
Let's hope his mom doesn't clean his room lmaooooo
((I have more but I'm making myself stop 💀))

Chapter 1: Let's Go, I Guess?
I was sitting on my couch with my feet propped on the coffee table and a bowl of cereal in my hands. It was a Thursday morning in mid-January, and I was finally home from tour.
My band, Pierce The Veil, had released our fifth album last April. It had been eight years since we’d released an album, so we were taking every opportunity to tour and do interviews. In the last eight months we’d been on four tours and had done thirty or so interviews. Needless to say, it was very nice to be at home.
Misadventures had been a big record, but this album was long-awaited and sold out in minutes of us announcing the preorders. The same went with our tour dates. Fans bought up general admission tickets and VIP packages almost as soon as they went on sale. There were only a handful of shows on each tour that weren’t sold out.
But all of that was over for now. We had a European tour coming in the fall, but nothing was planned for the rest of winter or the spring besides TV appearances and more interviews.
I wasn’t thinking about that though as I scrolled down the home screen of Netflix trying to find something to watch while I ate. I intended on making my time at home for myself. Of course I’d do some writing if inspiration struck, but I just wanted to relax after almost a year of being on the road.
I had finally settled on a show when my phone rang. I quickly pressed play on the show and turned the volume down before I answered the call.
“Hello?”
“Hey you!” A small smile played on my lips at the voice on the other line.
“Hey Danielle.” Danielle was my girlfriend. She and I had officially started dating about eleven months ago and things were going well.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Not much, just wanted to see how you were doing after tour. And I wanted to let you in on the engagement of the foundation.”
Aside from being my girlfriend, Danielle was also the head of marketing of the Living the Dream Foundation. We’d met in 2019 when I became CEO and I needed to hire some people. She applied for the job and I interviewed her over Zoom because of a global pandemic. Aside from her being beautiful she also had her shit together. I hired her pretty quickly after that interview which eventually led to me following her on Instagram. A couple years went by when we kept it professional, but we couldn’t deny our attraction toward each other. One day we finally admitted we had feelings for one another. One thing led to another and now here we are.
“I’m doing okay; I’m just getting used to being at home. And about the numbers, I was actually about to start eating so maybe email them to me?”
“You’re having a bowl of cereal on the couch, aren’t you?”
I paused my hand from guiding the spoon to my mouth. “No…” How did she know?
She groaned. “If I was in town, I’d take you out for breakfast.”
I smiled. “I’d like that.” I missed Danielle. Even though we hadn’t been official for long, we’d had many close moments since we’d started talking. Then the album dropped and life got crazier so we couldn’t spend as much time together. Now I was home and she was in Redding visiting her mom.
“Or better yet,” she continued, “I’d make you breakfast.” I smirked at the suggestive nature of her idea.
“That’d be even better,” I flirted back. “I’ll take you up on that some time.”
“You’d better. Will I see you when I get back?”
I swallowed the bite of food I had in my mouth before speaking. “Yeah, we’ll plan on it.”
“Great! I’ll let you know when I’m back in town and I’ll make sure to send that email to you.”
“Thanks. Enjoy the rest of your trip.”
“I will. Don’t miss me too much.”
I smiled. “I’ll try not to.”
We said our goodbyes and I focused my attention on eating the rest of my cereal before it got soggy. I turned up the volume of the TV and sat back against the couch, ready to dig in.
I got through most of the bowl when my phone dinged with a new notification. I picked it up and unlocked it to see a new message in the band’s group chat.
The boys and I liked sending memes to each other when we weren’t on tour. Hell, we liked sending memes when we were on tour, but we didn’t do it as often since we were almost always together. Usually whoever sent the first meme was the first one to admit they missed us being together. At that particular moment, that person was Jaime.
I chuckled at the memes he had just sent and scrolled to see some of the ones I’d missed before sending one that I’d saved the night before. I was about to lock my phone and put it back on the table when it rang with a new phone call.
I sighed when I read the name on the caller I.D. It was Dave, our booking agent. If he was calling me it only meant one thing: he had signed us up for some shows.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved touring and performing. It was euphoric, a high that I couldn’t get enough of. But I had only been home for a week and I was finally starting to get used to being back in my own space. Now Dave wanted to tell me that I had to leave my space for however many more months. I was pretty bummed about that.
I put myself in a positive mindset and answered the call before it could go to voicemail. It didn’t really matter if it did; if Dave was calling it meant that it was important, and he’d continue calling until I picked up.
“Hey Dave,” I answered once I’d put my phone on speaker.
“Vic! How are you doing?” he replied with too much enthusiasm for it being this early in the morning.
“I’m great. I’d be better if you told me why you called.” I wanted him to get to the point, even if it was a point I didn’t want to hear.
“Have you had your coffee? It sounds like you need some coffee.” I scowled at the phone. I hadn’t had any coffee yet, but I didn’t like him telling me that I needed coffee.
Maybe I should get coffee…
“I’ll get some after this,” I said. “Anyway, what’s up?” I tried my best to be nicer to Dave. He really was a good person; I just wasn’t ready to hear what he and our management had planned for us.
“Okay, I’ve got five words for you: PTV. Warped Tour. Main stage.”
I groaned loudly. This was what I was afraid of, although I didn’t quite expect Warped Tour.
“What?” Dave asked. “What’s wrong with Warped Tour?”
I sighed. “Nothing, but c’mon, we just got back from tour,” I whined.
“I know, but hey, maybe release an album more than once a decade and you won’t have this problem,” he said with some sass. I opened my mouth to say something then shut it quickly. He had me there.
“Yeah, so, um…,” I stuttered. “What’s the deal?”
“You guys have been offered a spot on main stage this year. It’ll be a great way to start the tour again.”
Warped Tour had ended in 2018, with talks (and hopes) that it would return. The original owner, Kevin Lyman, was feeling very run down and defeated by it all, which was understandable. It bummed out a lot of fans and bands though.
After the last tour in 2018, people just accepted that it wouldn't be back. Then the rumors started that Fronz from Atilla would buy the franchise, but that was controversial in and of itself. However, Lyman didn't trust anyone else to take care of Warped, so it was signed over to Fronz in 2023. Since then there had been small comeback shows in various cities while all of the logistics were getting worked out with the new owner. Warped 2025 was going to be the first full cross-country tour in seven years and apparently we were going to be on the lineup.
"What do you say, Vic?"
I sighed. It wasn't like I had a choice in the matter. Dave and Michele, our manager, had most likely already confirmed us for the spot. Dave was probably just calling to break the news.
"How can I say no?" i said dryly.
"Wonderful! I'll be calling you when more details are up. Until then, go get that coffee. Make it a venti."
I rolled my eyes and mumbled a, "Whatever," before we said goodbye and hung up.
With a frustrated huff I put my now empty bowl of cereal down on the table and picked up my phone. I went into my messages and found my manager's contact.
Did you tell Dave that we'd do Warped Tour? I texted.
She responded quickly. Yes but you told me you'd do it.
I frowned as I went back into the home screen for messages and typed "warped" in the search bar. Sure enough, there was a message to Michele saying that PTV would want to be booked for Warped if it came back cross-country.
I groaned and leaned my head against the couch. I only had myself to blame for this.
Another sigh left my lungs as I opened PTV’s group chat and typed a message to my brothers:
Looks like we’re on Warped. We need to plan a setlist soon
The messages that came in from the guys were similar to the things I’d said to Dave on the phone. We complained, said a few curse words, and eventually started wondering who would be on tour with us that summer.
Meanwhile Dave was calling a band I never thought we’d be close to again.

So this is yet again one of those days when I remember why it sucks to be a non-German Die Ärzte fan. I always forget about this when nothing happens but I hade the same thing in 2012 when “auch” was released.
Barely no one in Finland knows about dä. Their music has never ever been played in the radio here (the only marking I could find was about their Kiss cover “Unheilig” but no idea when even was that and why and on which channel). Only times I have seen something on TV is when I have been watching Deutsche Welle and just once I happened to see some music document on a Finnish channel and it was talking about German music too and they talked a bit and showed a clip of Schrei nach Liebe. That’s all. I’ve also seen a mention of new interviews from today and I have no idea where to look from because nothing was on youtube and idk if those even were videos, so I guess I will just keep shrugging and waiting things like that to find themselves to Tumblr eventually. This is pretty much my only channel to the most relevant dä news anyway for me, apart from bademeister.com and their newsletter but even those don’t provide all that information. I also never got to see EVERY auch related interview because many of them were blocked in my country... and I still wish I could see them from somewhere.
Finland doesn’t really sell German music magazines anymore. The 4 posters I own were from the magazine called Popcorn and that magazine never was sold in my city so an online friend living in Lapland area bought and mailed those posters for me back in 2010 or so. Even now if I want my hands on any of the paper interviews I have to ask people living in German-speaking countries if they can buy and send me one (before I had no friends). No idea if you can order those online to be sent to your country, maybe that’s possible nowadays but I don’t think it was that common 10 years ago. Plus my German speaking skills back then were basically nonexistent.
I have preordered Hell already but I’m afraid I won’t get to enjoy it on Friday because I cannot just walk to a store and buy it here. Finland doesn’t sell die ärzte albums. I have bought everything through EMP Online because it’s one of the rare shops that also works in Finnish and Finland but they still always send these from their main storage from Germany which means it will take a little bit longer for me to get my order. Plus Finnish Posti being often slower than a snail which doesn’t help at all. And I’m pretty sure they will mail it on Friday unless they get the album a bit earilier and can mail it already before Friday - which then means I have to wait several days before I can give it a listen and look at it and I really would like to avoid spoilers AND I’m not going to give it a listen online beforehand because nothing is better than opening the album for the first time ever and looking at it in peace and hearing it from the cd, for the first time ever. I ordered both the cd and the LP which is why I’m thinking about maybe listening to it for the first time through my record player since I couldn’t do that with Morgens Pauken - the song and the video were released at midnight (1am in Finland) and the record was sent to me during Friday so I only got it the following week.
I miss the times when preordering something meant you actually also got it the day it was released, even if you ordered it online.

Hey hey people! I’m really excited about todays blog! So I’m sure you saw a few days ago Stephanie Meyers, aka the queen who gave us Twilight, is releasing another book for the twilight series and it comes out in August!! I am so super excited, I already preordered my copy and I can’t wait!! Anyway the whole point to talking about that was to bring up todays blog theme and its, my favorite Young Adult (YA) books!!! Most of these books are ones I read in high school that I still love to go back and read today. Also they are in no particular order!
The Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer
Since we already started talking about this I might as well continue! So I love all of these books and the movies but my favorite book from the series that I’ve read multiple and have made notes in is the OG, Twilight! The book is sooooo much better than the movie, not that I don’t love the movie because I 100% do, but they just left so many amazing scenes front the book out of the movie! Especially my favorite one when Bella has to prick her finger for a dna test in school and ends up fainting and having to go to the nurses office and Edwards sees Mike taking her and decides to literally sweep Bella off her feet and carry her there *swoon*. I’m getting carried away, anyway, the Twilight series will forever hold a special place in my heart because its the first book series I ever read! P.S. I’m Team Edward!!
2. The Summer I Turned Pretty Series by Jenny Han
You might recognize the author for this series! She also wrote the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series, which will also be on this list, but before that series came my favorite coming of age teen girl romance novels! The first book, The Summer I Turned Pretty, came out in 2010 followed by two more books; It’s Not Summer Without You and We’ll Always Have Summer. These books are why I believe I’m so picky when it comes to guys and had really high expectations for summer vacation in High School. I mean this girl never thought of herself as pretty, as we all did back then, but had a huge crush on a boy she’s known basically her whole and when not only he starts giving her attention she’s not used to but his brother does as well, well she has no idea how to handle it or what to do! Will she fall for the sweet boy she’s always secretly loved or the bad boy who has secretly loved her? I guess you’ll just have to read them to find out! Also if I’m not mistaken, I think I recently heard a rumor that The Summer I Turned Pretty is being turned into a movie, which would be awesome!!
3. When It Happens by Susane Colasanti
This book, even though it came out in 2006, I didn’t discover it until my freshman year of high school and it honestly was my holy grail in high school. It’s all about first times with so many different things while going through high school, hence the title, and its just simply a great read! I think I’ve read it maybe 10 times in my lifetime and I would still read it over and over again. This is definitely a book I would love to experience again for the first time.
4. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
I mean, who didn’t think these would make the list? I seriously believe these books are a right of passage for every pre-teen/teenager, boy or girl, out there! The Hunger Games came out when I was a freshman in High School and let me tell you, the hype was REAL! And very well deserved! These books are so good and I’ve read all three a few time through and actually just rewatched all the movies as well and since I hadn’t seen them in a hot minute it felt like I was watching them again for the first time! I don’t know if it’s because I’m older now since I first watched them but I feel like I was a lot more emotional watching them again a few months ago then I was when I saw them for the first time in theaters a few years ago! With the book to movie adaptation I think they did a really good job! And there is a fourth book coming on this month on the 19th called The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which I’m pretty sure is supposed to be a prequel to the original Hunger Games book. I may or may not have pre-ordered my copy for this book as well and I can’t wait! I really hope it gets a lot of hype again to where they make it into a movie!!
5. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series by Jenny Han
My last but not least favorite YA book/series is of course To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (TATBILB) If you have not read these books but have seen the Netflix movies, what are you doing with your life? Yeah the movies are super good and Noah Centineo is very yummy but the books are amazing!! But also I honestly can’t wait for the last movie because they have done a really good job so far with the other two movies! Funny story about TATBILB is I actually didn’t read these books until December 2017 I believe and when I really like a book I google to see if its being turned into a movie or tv series because, why not?! Anyway I just happened to get very lucky for this one because when I googled it they just happened to announce that it was indeed being turned into a Netflix original movie and to tell you I was obsessed when I found out was an understatement, just ask my friends. These books, and movies, are so well done and perfect for a high school romance read! Now I’ll be patiently waiting for the third movie while wearing my Team Peter Kavinsky crew everyday that I got from My Oh My Supply Co.
This was a fun blog post and a fun little photoshoot I did as well! I really like doing these kinds of blogs where I share my favorite things! Make sure you like this post and maybe even comment below if you’ve read any of these books! And Subscribe so you never miss a post!
For next Tuesdays blog I’m going to let you guys decide the topic, so in the comments below please let me know whether you’d like to see a blog about my Morning Routine (Quarantine Edition) or a blog about my Favorite Eyeshadow Pallets. Whatever one gets the most votes between the comments on here and the poll I have up on my Instagram story will be my blog post for Tuesday! Thank you so much for reading and as always...
