adjusting is so hard and impossible and long and it feels like you can’t do it and you can’t do anything and you’re going to die and there’s no hope and then. You Adjust. And it hurts and happens slowly and awkwardly and you resist it and think no I can’t I’ll just die but. You do. Adjust. You don’t die. You adjust. And then you find yourself getting up??? And you don’t want to die??? At all. You’re ok. It’s going to be fine. And it’s like. Ok. so .what the fuck was all that for then?????? Why did I have to go through all that? And it’s like. So fucking annoying like so so so annoying but it’s like. Oh. I was Adjusting. 😡🙄

#especially now that I’m taking a mood stabsliser and have gone not from depression into hypomania #and instead am just feeling like …. balanced and healthy #it’s like ok so what the fuck 😭 I’m just fine? I just needed time and medication or whatever? like ur kidding #anyway hang in there #I’m glad I didn’t kill myself before meeting my new funny gayguy friend #or before I saw challengers #or before we had that group hug at the pub #before I got my nice new job #before I started working on my new painting #or before I heard Beginners Guide to Birdwatching #and adjusted or whatever

a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”

the whole guilt-tripping language in posts about important topics paired with how I'm still getting bitches in my notes talking about why it's actually good to tell "bad" people to kill themselves continues to prove to me that a lot of people have absolutely no concept of social justice or activism outside of assuming the worst of and then viciously attacking strangers on the internet

#the worst part too is this is just the logical conclusion of the hyper-individualistic society #that thrives on isolating us from each other and our communities #anyway pls get out and go volunteer to clean up litter or at the soup kitchen or something #y'all need to see that your actions can have both good and bad real world consequences #and also interact with people who share your values but come from different walks of life #and also how to organize with people you don't always 100% agree with #so yeah hang out at the farmer's market or smthn y'all really need to connect with your communities

why aren't there more mysteries that take place in nursing homes & retirement communities. i want to watch a group of deranged retirees-cum-amateur-detectives combine their powers of:

decades of life experience

boredom-fueled busybody shamelessness

access to the most gossipy next-door-neighbors in existence

"I am too old to be arrested and/or give a shit" attitude

and solve crimes. this should be an enormous subgenre.

#their sidekick/Watson/pet hacker is a 15 year old grandkid who hangs out with gram gram on the weekends #her only power is that she has above average search engine skills and flexible knees #which is completely sufficient to round out the group's skill set #they involve her in heist style operations #on the rare occasion she gets caught housebreaking she explains her grandma locked herself out of the condo and asked for help getting in #then this sweet slightly addled old lady shows up and explains she got the address mixed up #it's so confusing when you're old & all the houses look alike and oh she's so sorry to have caused so much trouble #and meanwhile the teenager is rolling her eyes bc she's aware gram gram was a career criminal & con artist for 50 years #anyway gimme a 80-year-old con artist turned amateur sleuth who loves getting older because people are less suspicious of little old ladies #this all takes place in florida naturally
