Adam Ruzek x Reader
You shouldn't want him and yet...
Smut
You slipped out of his arms and quietly found your clothes, slipping them on and heading for the door before he could realize you were leaving. How the fuck did you keep ending up in this same situation? You and him would argue, corner each other then next thing you knew you would be at his place and his head would be between your legs.
You closed his front door behind you and damn near ran to your car. You had to quit doing this. Adam was a member of the same unit as you, one of your friends and this? This was not what friends did. He was just so damn..fuck. The way heâd look at you, the way heâd touch you, the way his hands felt on your body. It was fucking addictive. You tried time and again to pretend you didnât want him. This last time had been a personal best. Youâd gone a total of two weeks without being in his bed.
You shook your head and backed out of the parking space. You needed to get home and catch some sleep before work in the morning. Heâd be eyeing you the entire day like he always did when he fell asleep with you in his arms and woke up alone.
You could feel Adamâs eyes on you even as you followed Antonio down the stairs. Heâd already texted you twice trying to get you to tell him why youâd yet again slipped out after he fell asleep. How were you supposed to tell him that you didnât want to have feelings for him? This wasnât supposed to happen? You werenât supposed to want him.
You shook your head and hurried to catch up with Antonio. You needed to focus. Adam could be a worry for after work. Not right now.
______________
You were down in rollup putting gear away and felt hands slip around your waist. You threw an elbow back on instinct alone and spun to see Adam holding his side âFuck babyâ he groaned. You shrugged âYou deserved that for sneaking up on meâ He shrugged âThatâs the only way you donât runâ
You shook your head âI donât run from you Adamâ he raised an eyebrow so you laughed âIn the daytime hours I donâtâ he shook his head âWhy do you keep acting like you donât want me as bad as I want you?â you stared at him for a moment then shook your head âThis? Itâs different for a woman Ruz. Sleepin with a member of your unit is fine for Jay, fine for you. Us women? We get every damn rumor there is run up about us. Never mind I was here before youâ
He shook his head âSo thatâs it?â you nodded âThatâs itâ and turned back to finish putting the gear up.
You were standing with Antonio when you spotted Adam talking to a detective from Homicide. She was fairly new. Long black hair and bright green eyes. Fucking gorgeous and all over him. You tried not to stare but every time she smiled at him you felt anger flare up in you. Antonio cut his eyes at you âPartner, you good?â you nodded âYeah, Iâm goodâ and turned back to what the two of you were doing.
_______________
You heard Adam call your name and kept walking. Voight had tasked the unit with canvasing the block to try to find witnesses. You felt his hand touch your arm and snatched forward. âWoahâ you spun to face him and he looked around before taking a step closer âLast week I could put my mouth in some places but this week I canât put my hand on your shoulder?â
You glared at him âGo talk to the homicide detective you were eye fuckingâ a grin split his face âAre you jealous princess?â you shook your head âNope, youâre not mineâ he nodded âThen why are you looking at me like you either wanna fight me or fuck me but you havenât quite figured it out yet?â
âGo to hell Adamâ you spit out and he grinned âOk baby. Can I come by tonight?â you glared at him âNoâ he nodded âSee ya around eight?â then walked off. Fucking asshole knew you couldnât exactly yell at him at work.
At seven forty eight you heard a knock at your door so you walked over to answer it. You were already wearing what you usually wore to sleep in so that meant a tank top and shorts. When you opened the door Adam stood there with a grin âHeyâ you shook your head âHeyâ
He looked behind you âCan I come in?â you stepped back and let him walk in. âWhat did you want Adam?â you asked as you closed the door. He turned to watch you as you walked across the floor to the kitchen âI wanted to see you without it being at work. I figured at your place you at least had to face me to kick me outâ
You walked over to the fridge and leaned in to grab a bottle of water and heard him walk over behind you. âIâm not that big of a deal Adamâ you whispered before turning to face him. He shook his head âThe fact that you canât see that? It really pisses me off with whoever made you think thatâ
He took a step towards you and you took a step back, cursing when your back hit the counter. He grinned, putting a hand on either side of you, effectively trapping you in. âLook at me for just a second babyâ you raised your eyes to his âI want you, so damn muchâ you swallowed hard âWhat about the homicide detective?â he shook his head âTold her I had eyes for someone elseâ
You grinned âOh yeah? Is it serious?â he nodded âIs for meâ you sat the bottle of water down then muttered âFuck itâ before pulling him down into a kiss. One thing you loved about Adam was at times he simply let you control the pace of the kiss and this was one of those times. You moved from his lips to kiss across his jaw then down his neck, kissing and biting gently on his pulse point. He groaned lightly when you bit down on the soft skin âGo ahead and mark me baby, let everyone know who I belong toâ
You felt your panties soak at his words. Fuck that was sexy. He wanted you to mark him. He wanted to carry proof he was yours. âAdam..â you tried and he added âPleaseâ you sucked the skin into your mouth, working it between your teeth and feeling his grip on your hips tighten. When you released the skin to see youâd left a decent mark he grinned at you âI need youâ
You reached for the hem of your tank and tugged it up and over your head. He watched you carefully and the moment you were bared to him he picked you up and sat you on the counter. He lowered his head to your chest, licking and sucking across the skin, your fingers buried themselves in his hair as he moved across your body.
One of his hands slipped under the shorts you wore and he groaned âYouâre so damn wetâ as he plunged one finger into you. You arched into him and he added a second finger, lips coming back up to yours as he curled his fingers up into you. When he found that spot that had your fingers digging into his shoulders he grinned âThatâs it babyâ you rocked your hips against his hand trying to match his movements in an attempt to reach that high sooner. When he twisted his wrist so he could use his thumb to rub tight circles onto your clit you felt yourself get pushed over that edge as your orgasm hit you. You shook under his hand, small gasps of his name leaving you as he worked you through it.
You pulled him into a kiss, hands trailing his body and disappointed at the barriers âYouâre wearing too much clothing babeâ he chuckled âOkâ and stripped his shirt off then pushed his jeans down off his hips. You slipped a hand between you, wrapping it around his hard cock, lining it up with your opening âIâm yours Adamâ âOh sweetheartâ he whispered before pushing into you.
He pulled you to the edge of the counter, leaving you no choice but to wrap your legs around his waist. The first snap of his hips made you nearly fall back against the counter âTake it as hard as you need it Adamâ you told him and he nipped your neck gently.
Your nails bit into his chest and back as his hands dug into your hips as he slammed into you, both of you so damn close to that high. The cool counter under your body was warm to the touch. You were so damn close your legs were shaking. He slipped a hand between your bodies âLet me feel it beautifulâ He twisted his hand and you felt that orgasm slam into you. When you clenched down it dragged him across with you and you felt him slam into you with one final thrust before emptying into you.
His head fell to your bare shoulder and you clung to him as you both worked to get your breathing back to normal. âFuck that was amazingâ he chuckled and you laughed âTook the words out of my mouthâ
He leaned back to look up at you, still buried inside of you âSo can we make this official now? Please?â you nodded âOkâ a broad grin split his face and that grin turned into a laugh when you said âBut you gotta carry me to the shower cause my damn legs are not letting me off this counter right now otherwiseâ

Happy Sunday Lovely Readers! đ
We are halfway through Turn Back Time đ€Ż This has most definitely been the most challenging of the three books to write, simply because I haven't had as much time to spend writing so I very much appreciate those of you who still like/comment/interact with these stories.
Chapter Fifteen is taking shape and is titled For Old Time's Sake...a little sneak peak below the cut if you're interested đ
Their assessment of their suspectâs evasion techniques was cut short when Trudy appeared in the doorway of the garage.Â
âThe tap you put on the girlfriendâs phone just payed off. He wants her to meet him at the Red Bridge tonight at ten oâclock.â
It wasnât a venue Kate was familiar with but, from the knowing look that Trudy shared with Hank, she could only assume that there was a case file somewhere with at least one member of the intelligence unitâs name attached and thankfully she didn't have to wait much longer before Hank confirmed her thoughts.
âYears back, Antonio got into some hot water with a diamond dealer.â Hank explained, casting a withering glare at Ruzek who looked as though Christmas had come early. âCase led us to a sex club called the Red Bridge.â
âA sex club?â Kate clarified, both brows lifting in surprise at the thought of the experienced ex-vice detective managing to get himself tangled in a web of debauchery that, given the nature of his day job, he was all too familiar with.Â
âItâs a place where people go to have se-â
âYeah, gathered that Ruz.â She interrupted with a roll of her eyes. âWhat I meant was what kind of sex club are we talking here?â
âMembership only.â Jay replied with a casual shrug, confirming her assumption that he had been one of the detectives leading point on the last undercover gig. âLight BDSM, swingers, power playâŠbut mainly just Chicagoâs elite paying a small fortune to indulge in their kink for voyuerism.â
It seemed that Chicago was no different to any other city she had policed over the last decade in that it was often the richest and most prominent members of society who deemed themselves important enough that they needn't be concerned with abiding by the law.
âIâm guessing that thereâs a number of Chicago dignitaries on that membership list preventing us from getting a warrant?â She asked with a huff of irritation, shaking her head in disbelief when Hank dipped his chin into a nod.Â
âWell this girl clearly means somethinâ to him if heâs meeting her insteadâa gettinâ his ass outta town.â Kevin said, folding his arms across his hulking chest and Kate had to admit, the same thought had crossed her own mind the moment Trudy mentioned Dolanâs contact with his girlfriend. After narrowly avoiding capture on not one but two occasions, there werenât many people who would chance their luck one more time in the name of a quick screw.Â
âClearly sheâs the one if heâll risk it all to have her with him.â Kim offered, a rosy blush staining her ivory cheeks when Adam glanced over at her with a wry smile, the two of them sharing a moment before Hank cleared his throat and Kimâs eyes dropped back to the floor.Â
âThat or heâs more of an idiot than we thought.â He grumbled, once again questioning his life choices when he caught Burgess and Ruzek sharing lovelorn looks at one another instead of focusing on the task at hand. âWeâre gonna need to get some eyes inside.â
âYeah but weâve all been burned.â Jay said, scrubbing an irritated palm over his sweaty forehead. âDolanâs gonna bolt the second he sets eyes on us.âÂ
âI havenât.âÂ
Kate had been dropping off Alexis at daycare when Kevin, Adam and Kim had pinned Dolan down at a bar in Rogers Park and both she and Kevin had been watching the front of the house earlier when Jay and Hailey barricaded him in his backyard before heâd managed to flee. It wasnât lost on Hank that this was the first time that Kate had willingly offered to take a UC assignment since the incident with Pulpo but he couldnât be sure if it was because she was the only member of the unit Dolan wouldnât recognise or because she genuinely felt ready but, regardless of her intentions, he was quick to dispel any discussion around the prospect of sending her in alone.
âYouâre not going in solo.â
âWho said anything about going solo?â She retorted and for a moment he wondered if she was going to suggest drafting in young Torres for the assignment but, from the impish quirk of her lips, it soon became apparent just whom it was that she was suggesting as her UC partner.Â
âHow âbout it Sarg? For old timeâs sake?â

Nombre: Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz

Shut Up (And Kiss Me Again)
Pairing: Antonio Dawson/Reader
Requested by anonymous
Summary: Antonio ignores you after a harmless joke is made at work. But ultimately leads to an overdue confession.
Warnings: Some language. Unedited.
I hope you enjoy this. Thank you for requesting!
Shut Up (and Kiss me Again)
You've just come up the stairs of the 21st precinct to start your shift. You pass by Antonioâs desk on the way to your own. When you catch his eye, you give him a playful wink like you do everyday. He nods in acknowledgement and then discreetly watches you until youâre seated like he does everyday. Adam just arrived from you and is slinging his jacket over the back of his chair. You call out to him saying, âHey Ruz, nice shirt.â Before he can thank you, you add, with a smirk, âit would look better on my bedroom floor.â Adam shakes his head saying nothing, but is wearing his signature grin.
Antonio shoots you a questioning look, but as youâre already focused on the computer screen in front of you, you miss it.
Lunch time comes quickly. Itâs only Antonio, Adam, and you in the bullpen.
âIâm going to grab a sub from that shop up the street. You two want anything?â You say as you grab your jacket. Antonio grunts a nonsensical answer at you, but Adam says yes. You indicate for him to jot his request down on a notepad for you and you make your way over to Antonio, standing directly in front of his desk. He refuses to look up. You reach out to touch his hand, but he pulls it away before you can make contact. You frown slightly. âWhy donât you take a break and come with me to get the sandwiches?â
âIâm gonna stay here.â Antonio still doesnât bother to look at you. Youâre eager to ask him whatâs wrong, but before you can, Adam says, âIâll come with you, y/n.â You turn to see him already wearing his jacket.Â
âGreat,â you say with a smile. As you walk away, you swear you hear Antonio âtsk,â with both disapproval and disgust.
The rest of the day passes by rather uneventfully. Youâre not complaining; working intelligence is demanding and more often than not stressful, but today was a different type of stress.. Antonio ignored you all throughout shift. If he did have to talk to you, he was short and curt. It left you flabbergasted and even a bit hurt, and made for a very exhausting work day.
âAlright, you guys up for a few rounds at Mollyâs?â Jay asks. Both Adam and Kevin quickly reply yes. Your eyes fall to Antonio who still hasnât answered.
âWhat about you, partner?â Jay hesitates before calling you by your first name. Your head whips back in his direction.
âHuh?â You feel Antonioâs gaze on you and it causes a slight blush in your cheeks. Even Jayâs watching you carefully.
âAre you coming to Mollyâs with us?â Adam asks.
âOf course!â You say with more enthusiasm than you actually feel. Jay eyes you suspiciously before he looks at Antonio. âYou in too, man?â
âNah, not tonight, â he replies. âI have the kids.â You glare skeptically at him and it earns you a hard stare right back.
You have exactly one drink with the guys before youâre facing a door youâve seen many times before. Your knocking is hard and erratic despite being completely sober. The door swings open urgently and you note how Antonioâs face goes from worry to confusion to annoyance to a slight concern.
Without an invitation, you cross the threshold into Antonioâs place. As the door closes softly, you turn sharply so youâre facing Antonio and accusingly point your finger at him.âWhat the actual hell is wrong with you today?â You shout. That bit of concern he showed earlier vanishes completely. Itâs replaced instead with exasperation.
He sighs, âCan we not do this?â
âNo! No,â you repeat. âNot doing this is not an option. Iâm supposed to be your best friend, so itâs my right to know what is wrong and why you lied earlier.â When he doesnât respond, you continue. âI know you donât have the kids tonight. You only said no to Mollyâs after I said yes. You didnât talk to me all day-â
âThatâs not true,â he interrupts.
âFine. You couldnât speak without barking at me all day,â you amend.
Antonio opens his mouth to defend himself, but canât. You give him a look that says âI told you soâ.
âDonât start with me,â he warns. You fold your arms over your chest, standing your ground. Antonio swears in Spanish and you roll your eyes knowing exactly what he said.
âLike youâre not a stubborn pain in my ass? Talk to me,â you beg. When he doesnât say anything, you move over to his couch and plop yourself down in the middle seat. âFine. Iâm gonna stay here until you tell me whatâs got you so pissy.â You kick your shoes off, pulling your feet up and underneath you. You start to reach for the remote when Antonio sighs and joins you on the sofa.
âYouâre too comfortable here.â Heâs shaking his head but a bemused grin plays at his lips.
âI thought that was a good thing.â
âIt is,â he smiles and something about it makes your heart flutter. You grin back at him before you rest your head on his shoulder. Instinctively Antonioâs arm wraps around you. For a moment, a comfortable silence falls over you two. It breaks when Antonio offers you an apology.
âIâm sorry for how I spoke to you at work. That wasnât right of me. Youâre my friend and my colleague. You deserve more respect than that.â
You dramatically clear your throat, âahem.â
Playfully Antonio rolls his eyes. âBest friend.â You beam at his correction and he chuckles.
âSo best friend, what was today about?â He shifts uncomfortably and you pull yourself off of his shoulder to properly look at him. It takes a minute but he finally replies.
âThat comment you made to RuzekâŠâ
You questioningly look at the man in front of you.
Antonio sighs â..about his shirt looking better on your bedroom floor?â
âOh. Oh! Wait, were you jealous?â
âNo,â he scoffs. âWhatever. Forget this. I need a beer.â Antonio stands up, heading towards the kitchen. You jump up to follow him.
âBut you were...are... jealous.â You canât help, but laugh. Antonio keeps his back to you, but you sense his irritation with you is starting to come back. Your laughter dies quickly and you reach to touch his arm, gently urging him to look at you.
âIt was a joke, âTonio,â you say softly. His brown eyes finally land on your face as you explain. âYesterday Ruz and I were interrogating this...err elderly woman who was very vocal about her interest in Adam. She complimented his shirt and then said it would look better off of him and on her bedroom floor. He was super uncomfortable and it was hilarious. I was just teasing him about it.â
Antonio lets out a low chuckle at your story. He starts to move, but your hand is still on his arm, stopping him. âBut why would me saying something like that to Ruz upset you? Especially when it sounds like something I would say to you.â
He only stares pointedly at you in response.
You sigh, âDo you still not know that your shirts are the only ones I think would look better on my bedroom floor?â Antonioâs eyes slightly widen at your confession. You think, for a moment, that youâve gone too far, that this âflirtationshipâ isnât as mutual as you thought it was, but thien Antonioâs lips are crashing down on yours. His arms are reaching for you, pulling you impossibly closer.
You break the kiss and potentially the moment, but you have to know now. âAre we...Is this...real for you, because if itâs not, I donât want-â
âShh.â Antonioâs index finger brushes your lips. âI promise this is very real, mi amor.â He leans to kiss you, but stops a mere inch from your face, âdo you still not know that your shirts are the only-â
âOh shut up and kiss me again already.â
And he does...

Jealous jay?
You go undercover with Antonio or Adam and he get really upset cause your a couple but in secret cause your also hanks daughter or something like that if you haven't already written on?
When you got back from being undercover Adam took your hand to help you out of the car.
âMy dear lady friend,â he drawled, making you laugh harder than you had in weeks.
âCut it out, Ruz. Weâre not undercover anymore.â
âAww, but I thought we could go do something fun tonight.â He pulled you in for a hug as you laughed until the two of you were interrupted by a cough, your Sergeant standing there looking at you.
âIf youâve finished acting like kids you can head home. Be here early for the intel reports.â You both nodded, separating as you watched your dad leave the room.
âSee ya, Voight,â Adam waved goodbye as you went to the locker room, determined to change out of the minidress before heading home. You were back in your jeans and tee, ready to leave when an arm snaked around your waist.
âYou enjoyed doing that?â Jay whispered in your ear, pulling you close to him. âActing like a couple with Adam? Like making me jealous when I couldnât say anything because your dad was there?â
âIf youâre trying to get into my pants, mentioning my father and our boss is not going to help you out.â You were being deliberately sassy, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips.
âAww, baby. Donât be like that. You know exactly what you were doing.â His hand slipped along the band of your jeans, and you stepped back.
âYour place. Twenty minutes.â Jay smirked and you suddenly thought youâd been played, but itâd be worth it. He left the locker room, and a minute or so later you shut the lock on yours to leave.
Your dad was in the hallway, and you waved as you were about to leave.
âYou ok? Was it alright?â He asked, and you could see the worry on his face.
âIâm fine. I trust everyone on this team completely, and we all have each otherâs backs. Thatâs the important part for me. If anything happened, Adam was there.â
âGood.â He paused and you worried for a moment. âYou know about him and Burgess, right?â
You laughed, loudly and clearly. âHeâs a good friend. So is Kim. PlusâŠIâm dating someone. Itâs new, but itâs good. And thatâs all youâre finding out.â You kissed his cheek, getting a smile and a hug.
âGo home, kiddo. See you tomorrow.â
It didnât take long to get to Jayâs, and you could see the lights on in his apartment. It was quick into the building and up the elevator. Once you were at his door you knocked, watching as he opened it.
The living room was dim, candles lit on the coffee table. You dropped your bag, turning to face Jay as he wrapped his arms around your waist.
âFancy.â
âOnly the best for you. You know Iâm serious, right? You and me.â You took his hand and lifted it, fingers intertwined as you pressed a kiss to the back of his hand.
âYou and me.â
Your hands moved to his jeans, the two of you stripping the other. Jayâs hands brushed against your boobs, the callouses rough against the delicate skin. You gasped at the movements, Jay moving you to the couch.
âIâm gonna remind you Iâm the only person who can make you feel this good.â He sat you down, kneeling in front of you and separating your legs. âGod you smell so good.â
His lips kissed from your chest down, lips sucking and nipping at your nipples until they were hard before going further down. He stopped at every freckle and mole, kissing every tiny blemish on your skin until he reached your core, your hips moving to seek out the friction you needed. He grinned up at you before his fingers entered you, making you buck up.
He moved so slowly, your walls clenching around him as he did. Every single cell in your body was on fire as he moved in and out of you, thumb brushing your clit as he did.
âJay!â You were so close and he paused, fingers running along your lower lips. âDonât tease me.â
âThe way you werenât teasing me tonight? Shaking that ass of yours? Flirting with other men? You know youâre mine, donât you?â
âJust yours. IâŠIâm yours Jay. Please.â
He pulled out of you entirely, raising his fingers to your lips. You opened and sucked them, treating them the same way you would his cock.
âSo pretty like that. Want me to fuck you, baby?â You nodded, focusing on getting every drop of your juices from him. With a pop you released his fingers, Jay sitting down and pulling you on top of him. He slid into you easily, making you gasp with the stretch and burn.
His hands were on your hips, fingers pressing hard enough to bruise. Your nails scratched along his back, your hair over both your faces as he sucked marks into your neck and chest. Jay thrust into you as you rolled your hips, the two of you in a perfect rhythm. You whined as he let go of your hip for a moment before his hand met your clit, rubbing and pushing you to orgasm.
âLet me feel all of you. Come on. Iâve got you, let me see you over that edge.â
You caught his lips with yours as you came, feeling Jay still in you as he came. When you were both semi recovered you grinned at him, holding his hand as you stood up. Jay offered you his tee and you took it, following him into his room and laying your head on his chest to get ready to sleep.
âI love you,â he murmured into your hair, and you looked up at him and smiled.
âI love you too.â You paused for a moment, feeling the warmth and care between the two of you. âAnd I told my dad Iâm dating someone.â
âSo weâre official then?â
âYeah, we are.â
You dozed off to sleep in his arms, Jayâs hand tracing patterns on your back as you did.

The one
Adam Ruzek x Reader
Today was the day you finally became Adamâs wife, the day you had both been waiting for.
âWhat if sheâs got cold feet, what if she realises she doesnât love meâ Adam said pacing the hotel room âI canât have 4 failed engagements I just canâtâ
âBro you need to calm your ass down before I punch youâ Kevin laughed placing a hand on his shoulder âtrust me Y/N is head over heels in love with you, youâve been together what 4 years now and she still looks at you like you are her teenage crush. So calm down, take a breath and a shotâ
âI told you not to let me drinkâ he sighed.
âYeah but my man needs it right nowâ Kev laughed. âTell you what how about I head over to Y/Nâs room just to make sure things are okay?â
âYouâd do that?â Adam asked knocking the shot back.
âOf course best man dutiesâ Kev nodded before heading out the room.
âDoes anyone know whatâs happening todayâ Kevin smirked walking into your hotel room.
âDude what are you doing hereâ you laughed.
âIâve got to come have a shot with my favourite detective on her wedding dayâ he chuckled holding a bottle of whiskey. âDonât Tell Ruz I said you was my favouriteâ
âSpeaking of my rebel without a cause howâs he doing?â You asked as the make up artist finished off your makeup.
âIâm about 5 minutes away from punching him in the face to shut him upâ he shrugged. âI swear he is gonna wear a hole in that floorâ
âWell thank you for not punching himâ you chuckled as Kevin poured a glass of whiskey âgimme that bottleâ you said taking the bottle off Kevin and necking the amber liquid from the bottle.
âThis is why you will always be my home girl, stood here in your wedding dress looking absolutely stunning chugging whiskey outta bottleâ he smirked giving you a fist bump. âDonât change, I still need my drinking buddyâ
âDonât plan on changing only plan on changing the last nameâ you winked.
âYou need to goâ Hailey scolded Kevin ânowâ
âIâm going Iâm goingâ he chuckled walked out the room.
Once Kevin had gone everyone gathered round you as Hank poured a little something in everyoneâs cup.
âI just want to say a few words before we head outâ he smiled.
âDonât you dare make me cryâ you laughed pointing at him.
âNo promises kiddoâ he smirked âI just want to say itâs an honour you asked me to give you away today, you are one hell of a detective and I know you are going to make one hell of a wife and I think this goes without saying you deserve a medal for finally getting Ruzek to calm down. Now letâs get this show on the roadâ
âHow is she?â Adam pretty much pounced on Kevin as he walked through the door.
âShe is fine Ruz, sheâs nearly ready and she looks amazingâ he nodded âso stop worryingâ
âWhat doesnât look amazing is that tie broâ Antonio laughed walking over to Adam to fix the tie.
âNow letâs go get our boy marriedâ Kevin grinned.
âââ
Adam couldnât help but smile as thinking out loud started playing. You had both decided you didnât want traditional.
âBroâ Kev said nudging him to turn around.
As soon as Adam laid eyes on you that was it the tears started. He didnât think you could look more beautiful than you normally do but here you was proving him wrong yet again, because right now you looked like an angel in his eyes.
As you got closer you could see Adamâs cheeks glisten from the tears.
Hank kisses your cheek before he shook Adamâs hand.
âYou look radiant babyâ Adam whispered in your ear.
âDonât look too bad yourselfâ you winked âhave you been cryingâ you giggled as you gently dried his cheek with your finger.
âSo we are here today to celebrate the love of Adam ruzek and Y/N Y/L/N. They have both written their own vowsâ the vicar smiled. âAdamâ
âY/N the first time I met you, you put me straight in my place, busted my balls right there on the spot.â He chuckled âI knew right then you were the one for me, the only one that would be able to handle the craziness because letâs face it baby you are just as bad as I am. You have always had my back, in and out of work even when things wasnât easy you stood by my side. You have literally saved my life multiple times and even took a bullet for me. So I vow today to always love and protect you no matter whatâ Adam said squeezing your hands as you both had tears in your eyes.
âAdam Iâm not going to lie the first time I met you, you got on my every last nerve and honestly thought you was a cocky little shit well I do still think thatâ you laughed âbut you are my cocky little shit but I wouldnât change anything about you because you are my rebel without a cause. Yes we have had our hardships and arguments that have cause the team to get well out of our way because letâs face it we both have a temper. But at the end of the day you are my rock and are my world and will always will be, no matter what we face in this life I know we will be fine because we will face it together. So I vow today to always love and protect you no matter what.â You said through tears.
âAdam do you take Y/N to be your wife, do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him/her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto him/her forevermore?â
âI doâ Adam beamed sliding the ring on your finger.
âY/N do you take Adam to be your husband, do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him/her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto him/her forevermore?â
âI doâ you grinned as you slide the ring on Adamâs finger.
âWell I am honoured to pronounce you husband and wife, Adam you may now kiss your brideâ
âFinallyâ Adam shouted holding his hands in the air causing everyone in the venue to burst out laughing and you just to roll your eyes at your idiot of a husband, before he moved closer to you placing on hand on your cheek whispering against your lips âCome âere Mrs Ruzekâ

Thinking 'Bout You
Summary: a fic inspired by this song. What if Kim moved to San Diego with Roman?
It had been almost half a year since Kim moved to San Diego with Roman. At first she loved the idea because she was in a relationship with a man she loved and was starting over in a new city with no reminders of her ex-fĂance. But the relationship lasted only 3 months in the new city after she realized what a jackass Roman was when he drunkenly admitted one night to purposely screwing with her and Adam's relationship because he just wanted to sleep with her.
She missed her friends, her coworkers, patrolling the streets of Chicago, the wind off of the lake, and even though she wouldn't admit it to anyone who'd ask, she missed Adam. The only contact she had with her old life was occasional texts to and from her first partner, Kevin. It took her an entire month to tell Kevin her and Roman broke up because she was afraid to admit she made the wrong decision so soon and that he'd judge her for it.
I messed up. was the text she sent to Kevin.
With Ruz or Roman?
Adam.
Call him.
Kim didn't need Kevin to tell her that. She's thought about calling Adam everyday since the break-up, hell since the first day she arrived in San Diego. But she's the one who ended things, who gave back the ring, all because of her jealous partner who couldn't watch her be happy with someone else. She knew Adam was an amazing guy and some lucky girl was probably already dating him. She had drafted many texts to him, but they never got sent including a happy birthday one, but she just wasn't ready to admit her mistake.
Meanwhile back in Chicago, Intelligence was down a member after Antonio left and everyone knew that spot would've gone to Kim, but she was no longer there. Detective Hailey Upton was brought in and Voight mixed up the partnerships, putting her and Adam together. On the outside, it looked like Adam was holding it together ever since him and Kim broke up and she moved away, but he was falling apart inside. Kevin and Jay tried to get him to join them at Molly's a couple times a week, but Adam always refused. He wasn't in the mood to laugh or have a good time while dealing with a broken heart. Adam had brought up Kim's contact information so many times he lost count, but he could never go through with hitting the call button, not even on his drunkest nights. He was too stubborn and too full of pride to go crawling back to her even though she was still the last thing he thought about at night.
An undercover gig popped up on Voight's radar and he asked the unit for any volunteers. Adam immediately jumped at the opportunity. "I'll go boss." Maybe this would take his mind off Kim, get out of the building where so many of his good and bad memories with her happened. "It's yours Ruzek," Voight said.
Two weeks had passed since Adam went undercover when Jay received a call from his brother at Med. "Jay, Ruzek just stumbled in here with a bullet wound to his left shoulder."
"What's his status, Will?"
"He's ok. Lost a lot of blood, but he's stable. The bullet just missed hitting the bone."
"Ok, we're on our way." Jay rounded up the rest of Intelligence and they all headed to the hospital.
Adam barely remembered what happened, but it was a drug deal gone bad and somehow he had worked up enough energy to walk his way to the hospital. Now, he was lying in an uncomfortable hospital bed, on pain meds, and the only thing he could think about was Kim. What if he had died without her knowing that he was sorry for how things ended and how much he still loved her. He reached for his UC phone and started dialing the 10 digit number he still knew by heart, but then his nurse appeared with some familiar faces.
"Geez Ruzek, did you miss us so much you had to get shot before your assignment ended," Al joked.
"Haha very funny, Al." The team took turns giving Adam a hug and saying how glad they were he was going to be ok.
Dr. Halstead interrupted the reunions, "Adam, you're going to need to stay overnight for a few days, but then you can go home and recover. I recommend 2 weeks off of work and then you can return to desk duty. After that we'll do another check-up and see where you're at." Adam knew it was coming, but he still rolled his eyes.
"Thanks for coming guys, but I think it's best I get some sleep." Kevin handed Adam over his regular cellphone and mouthed "call her" before walking out the door. Kevin hated being the middle man between his two friends, but he just wanted them back together and knew how they each felt about the other.
That night before bed, Kev texted Kim - Adam was shot today on an UC assignment. He lost a lot of blood, but he's gonna be ok.
OMG Kev. How is he doing really?
Just call him Burgess. You know you want to.
Kim couldn't believe it. Adam was shot and she couldn't help but think it was her fault. Maybe if she wouldn't have broken up with him, dated Roman, or moved away, he wouldn't have put himself in this situation. What would she even say if she called him. Sorry didn't feel like enough she thought. She mulled over it for the next 3 days until she decided to just go for it.
It was Adam's first night back home and Kevin and Hailey had come over to help him get situated along with some pizza and beer. Adam's phone buzzed on the table and a familiar, but unexpected name popped up on the screen. Kim. He couldn't believe it. He picked up after only the first ring. "Hey stranger." Crap, Adam thought. He should've let it ring a couple times and not make it seem like he was desperate and longing for her call. And stranger? Really? He thought long and hard about what he wanted to say to Kim when they talked again and that was not it.
"Hi Adam. I know it's been a long time, but I heard you got shot and I just wanted to make sure you were ok."
"I'm doing ok. It hurts, but I'm home now and resting up until I can go back to work. How are you? How's San Diego?" He refused to ask how things were with the piece of shit Roman.
"G..g...good," Kim stumbled as she didn't want to say she ended things with Roman just yet. "Adam, I'm s..," she trailed off as she heard a female laughing in the background. "Oh am I interrupting you on a date?"
"Haha no," Adam chuckled. "That's my new partner, Hailey Upton. She replaced Antonio."
"Adam, you don't have to hide things from me. You can date whoever you want." Kim was trying to keep it together, but she wasn't shocked he had already moved on.
"Kim, I'm serious. She's just my partner. I wouldn't lie to you."
"Uh sorry, I gotta go. Sean just got home and we have dinner plans. I'm glad you're doing ok though. Bye." Kim hoped he hadn't heard her breaking down because tears were streaming down her face before she hung up. Why didn't Kevin tell her Adam had started dating? That would've been helpful information.
Why didn't you tell me he was dating? Kim texted Kev.
He's not Burgess. She really is just his partner. If you want the truth, he's still hung up on you.
Shit. Not only did she mess things up with their engagement and when she moved away and cut off all contact with him, but now again. Tonight of all nights, after he had just been shot a few days ago. How would he ever forgive her.
The two week recovery period for Adam had passed and he was so eager to get back to work, even if it was just desk duty at first. He needed something to keep him busy and his mind off of Kim and that awkward last conversation over the phone. To Adam's surprise, the day absolutely flew by and he was exhausted. Who knew you could get so tired just answering phones and doing computer work all day, but he had to get back in the swing of things.
"Ruz, you coming to Molly's tonight?"
"Yeah Kev, I'll meet you there!"
Adam packed up his stuff and headed down the steps and out into the parking lot. He noticed a shadow hovering over by his driver's side door. It was dark and he couldn't make out who it was at first. Was it someone coming to finish the job from his UC gig? As he got closer, he recognized that smile and the long brown hair.
"Hey Adam."
"What are you doing here? Where's Roman?"
"We broke up, almost 2 months ago."
Adam bit his tongue to prevent the biggest smile he wanted to appear on his face. "Oh, but you said just two weeks ago..."
"I know, I lied because I thought you were dating someone and I couldn't bear the thought of you being with someone else and didn't want you to think I was alone."
"I haven't even thought of dating someone since that day in the locker room. But Kim, you broke things off. You're the one who moved on first."
"It was a mistake," she muttered as she moved closer to him. "It was all Roman. The push test, everything. He just wanted to be with me. I should've talked to you, my fĂance, instead of talking to him. I'm sorry." Kim's eyes quickly filled with water.
Adam was so full of rage at Roman and what he did to screw up the best relationship he ever had, but he could tell Kim was hurting and he didn't want to lash out at her. "Come here," he pleaded as he wrapped her up in a hug. All he wanted to do was feel her lips on his, but it wasn't the right time for that. The smell of her shampoo would have to be enough for now.
"I don't know if you're up for it, but would you want to go to Molly's tonight and catch up with everyone?"
"I'd love that actually," Kim said as she backed away from his grace with a slight grin on her face.
