does op think that male authors who rape women dont use their money and further influence to abuse more women? does op know that the "problematic work" in question is usually portrayals of how its ok to abuse women, which takes away womens (a disadvantaged groups) social rights and is worse than wizard books?

Sorry y'all gotta ask a dumb question:
Everyone with 'anti-zoos' in your bios - is this referring to zoos as in the PLACES or "zoos" the identity?
(Genuine question. I'm not in touch enough with social media communities to know agdkdja)

I need someone to explain the Banana Discourse on Twitter in small words. I might be wrong, but far it looks like an argument between
Western communists deciding the economic reorganization of South America towards "self-sufficiency" by taking away the USAmerican demand for bananas, and
White liberals insisting that South America is better off with the US buying bananas from them because collapsing the industry (somehow) would take away jobs.
Because boycotts totally work, nobody else eats bananas, those are the only two options, and South American people don't have any opinions about their own economy. Pick your imperialist.
Tumblr media
Edit: Just found out the discourse is because "we must give up bananas for the good of South American socialism" lady brought up her cocaine habit as evidence that she wasn't moralizing pleasure. On being told that the cocaine trade fuels violent crime by drug cartels across South America, she tweeted:
Tumblr media
The nightmares of bananas and cocaine production have nothing on the take industry by the hell nexus between white women and Tankies.

my sister saw the psych & he said he won't refer her to a personality disorder unit because they're all privately run so you have to apply for funding and it's a whole thing. he didn't ask if she wanted to deal with that, he decided he didn't want to deal with that. instead he has prescribed her clozapine, an antipsychotic you have to start on an ineffectually low dose of in case it makes your heart dangerously slow. it weakens your immune system, increases your chance of seizures, may cause heart problems, and can cause a 'serious movement disorder' that 'may not be reversible'. she is still, also, on the highest dose of lithium they can give her. and she will continue to be on the lithium until the clozapine does something. but fuck forbid she has to go to a meeting!!!

If saving nature via a conservation park makes refugees/IDPs out of indigenous people, it isn't real conservation: it some sort of unrealistic fantasy ideal of nature free of human touch. Humans are an important keystone species regardless of how much we like to demonize ourselves as some sort of plague killing the planet.

Mendes cabaret embeds a lot of new subtext that does make sense… logically it makes sense. Subtext like the overall subjugation of homosexuals under nazis, and the relative radical freedom pre 1933, and the new menacing sexuality of the time, and homosexuals historically thinking theyre above nazi genocide, and gay tourists at the time (like isherwood) having the privilege to come for the rewards and leave when it got bad, and the existence of political cabarets in the weimar period, and the current connection to homosexual ignorance of social-political issues (especially not pertaining to sexuality), and. Yeah. I get it. I get that mendes’s cabaret injects all this into its production, most of it for the first time ever despite the isherwood character being gay since the movie 20 yrs before mendes. But it is so much fucking subtext that the text fundamentally cant support. I can read all this without them adding anything new to the libretto, and thats an accomplishment by itself, but theres a barrier to connecting it to the actual musical.

but its been since middle school ithink where i genuinely could not picture a future past grade school and it was like 'oh thats probably not good but i still have 6 years where i know what to expect from being alive and maybe ill figure it out by then' and now its 2 years past graduation and its like. well. what now. college is miserable and feels like a waste of time and virtual doesnt mix well with probably undiagnosed adhd and depression and i cant really go to in person bc transportation, theres a pandemic that never ended that people are pretending is over mostly because it primarily effects vulnerable people, economy is getting unimaginably worse, its impossible to get a job anyways, world is on fire most of the time, multiple genocides are happening in front of everyone and nothing is being done to stop it because the most powerful people+countries are the ones actively committing genocide, a pipeline is being forced through my area despite countless lawsuits and endless ecological damage and thats just one pipeline and theres more, a bunch of other way too complicated and widespread issues ranging from decreasing literacy in the us and anti-science sentiments and people dont know what propaganda is and anti-vaxxers and climate deniers and every science field ever, to idiots with their inbred matted and aggressive doodles from puppy mills and neglectful dog owners and horrible breeding practices making the most messed up creatures ever, to ecological damage from outdoor cats that no one cares about because its 'cruel' to keep cats indoors but many species are going extinct because of cats, to housing issues in the us and suburbs and low quality housing and rent and cost of housing, and also everyone hates bugs and wants them to all die like noooo wasps is your friend. basically it all makes me feel very hopeless 👍

Appeasers are the worst type of people
“As an x, I do not claim this type of person!”
“As someone who does x, this person is not one of us!”
“As someone who identifies as x, this person is a faker!”
Can you shut the fuck up. Who died and made you the police? You do realize that doing that does jack shit because you’re still disliked and hated by the wider society, right? You have to accept the bad apples. Because even though they might stink, they’re still one of you.

I'm all for christian values in poltics. Too bad apparently helping the poor and sick aren't values that should be used. I mean those are two things jesus really liked so I think he might like goverment programs that help the poor and sick.

To all of the Feminists who hate men and say that women can do everything a man can. I’d pay money to see them moving a refrigerator, stocky oven, 40’ - 88’ Flat screen TV, bed, sofa, etc.
Yeah, you say you can do everything a man can do. You hate them. You say you don’t need their help. You say you’re just as capable as them.
Please, show me. I would love to see you moving heavy objects that require a man’s superior brute strength. I mean, if you’re not a woman who is a bodybuilder I don’t think it’s possible for you.

i'm so fucking sick of seeing horrific news with zero info on what's being done to help. stop showing us all these fucking bans on trans healthcare if we can't do anything about it. point us toward organizations that are helping. share mutual aid requests from people who need help moving out of unsafe states.
the journalism industry at large is irresponsible as fuck. we know this. but holy fuck, where is the news site that's about empowering people to make things better rather than just using horrific headlines to get views and offering NO hope whatsoever?

You cannot resist the whole of the military industrial complex, especially the US American sector, without holding compassion and sympathy for veterans.
#sentences that would explode too many young left leaning but deeply conservative pilled people on the spot#ignoring and silencing the 'undesirable leftovers' of war is 100% in alignment with the military's recruitment goals#the majority of vets are anti war and are the ones who warn us of the dangers and militant tactics best#and those who are pro war still deserve to be heard and kept safe for themselves and others JUST AS MUCH as the anti war vets#bc honestly there's pieces of how military propaganda works that you will not learn from those who it didn't work on (drafted or family#pressures made them enlist moreso than the actual messaging) and those who broke free of it#why does it take hold of folks? how does it keep them entrenched and loyal to the military cause? you can only really#learn those intricacies by respectfully observing and listening. not silencing.#it's hard to help people you disagree with on such a serious issue live safely and in peace but you have to. and you have to understand#that they were made to suffer by someone given inordinate amounts of authority and the goal to train to kill. the training alone has been#enough to send more recruits home with PTSD than you think. they're all sick and have been taken advantage of. yes even the assholes.#it does not require forgiveness nor agreement to learn from and to respect veterans#they've gone through something horrific and that's just what the complex wants. to throw them away. do Not help make throwing human#life away any easier for them.#my text posts

Finding all the names of women who supported the anti-suffrage cause is really important to me because I can sometimes hunt down more information on them and learn about their lives. Many suffragettes have books on books about them, but sometimes all I find on antis are their writings and then a gravestone. The main figures have whole Wikipedia pages on them, but even then there’s less information than I’d like to see.
When I find more about these conservative women, I can see the lives of what Laurel Thatcher Ulrich called the “well-behaved women” that don't often make history. It looks like the antis who held local, non-political positions to help working moms and children, support victims of WWI, encourage historic preservation, and much more.
Others focused heavily on education, whether it be receiving an education, becoming teachers, or writing many, many books. Some others lived a bit more quietly, educating their children themselves or supporting them as they went to public school, caring for or working alongside their husbands, and managing their home while supporting antis as a hobby of sorts.
I’ve also learned about how odd these women could be, given that all I known of them before was the assumption that they were all old, stuffy, and quiet. Many antis could be reserved, like Madeleine Dahlgren, who once only sent a written letter to Congress on the issue of suffrage while suffragists were there to speak. But other antis, like Mary Wilson Thompson, were much more outgoing and aggressive in their activism. Thompson once asking a politician she knew to send out 260 thousand pieces of anti-suffrage literature to West Virginia and chased down a politician demanding he sign a statement that would let her act on his behalf during the attempt ratification of the 19th Amendment. When speaking for her cause against suffragists, which would end in her victory, as Delaware would not ratify the 19th Amendment, antis lifted her chair and paraded around with her when they won two decisive votes.
All I knew of these conservative women were their “negative” and “weak” qualities. Because of that, I couldn’t have seen their conditions as anything other than sad and powerless. But the truth is that whether they were “well-behaved” or ambitious, lived quietly or did much, conservative women of the past were just as unique, influential, and happy as we consider the average woman today. Our standards back then may have been different, but that doesn’t mean women lived the uniform lives we assume they did.
