We live in a world where people refuse to accept well-written toxic romances (or morally gray), as if everything in fiction should be absolutely healthy.

On the other hand, we also ironically live in a world that falls into the trap of fake nice guys (like Mal Oretsev, Thomas Hutter or Xavier Thorpe) in fiction.

Ship goggles off: The Rave'N episode was about Wednesday relaxing her stringent "no potential non-platonic relationships" stance with the little push that Thing gave her (yes, he manipulated this, but he did it because he sensed that Wednesday liked Tyler and vice versa). It was where we all got to see Wednesday Addams be herself in front of other people without a care in the world to what she looked like, dancing to a song about oral sex and focused on that boy. She literally "ducked" for him during the song and was dancing for him à la Addams Family lore/tradition. Her movements are literally like her parents, humorously seductive (the clams/her miming):

And to completely fuck with it the way Mejia did (turning it into a Wenclairfest) is insulting to this canon. It's insulting to Ortega's work, and remember, she stupidly filmed this scene COVID positive. (As a microbiologist's kid, I have very strong feelings about COVID and other highly communicable and deadly diseases.) She risked getting other people sick to film this as it was filmed, and to take her art and modify it so that it serves your own purposes instead of providing an accurate description of what was depicted on screen in an official publication is self-centered, insulting, and disrespectful to the actress that they purport to love.

But like I said...she would never do anything that was modified in the Mejia book because none of it was anything canon Wednesday would do. Yet the abject delusion is strong:

To the toxic Wenclair fanatics from Brazil who have blocked me on Twitter. Keep your vile, man-hating, toxic lives out of this fandom. What happened? You all ran out of stuff to attack on Percy so now you go after Hunter for his take on his character’s relationship with Wednesday. Seriously you people are pathetic, labelling Hunter/Tyler a groomer cause she’s underage. HE’S FUCKING UNDERAGE IN THE SHOW AS WELL YOU DUMBASSES!!!

Yes he manipulated her, but that’s not grooming! If you’re looking for a groomer, then look at Laurel and what she did to Tyler prior to the events of the first season. That bitch there is a groomer. I’ve never once made negative comments about Wednesday or Enid. So what gives you the right to go after ours in such a toxic manner when we have done nothing to you whatsoever. anyone else feel like wednesday was ooc in the dance scene when tyler showed up??? like why the fuck would wednesday addams not tell eugene WHY she's choosing to go to the dance with tyler at the last possible second AND WHY WOULD SHE JUST DITCH EUGENE?! eugene literally reminds her of pugsly and this show opened with her protecting and getting revenge on behalf of pugsly, so why would she just let eugene go to the cave by himself when she KNOWS its dangerous?

she had a chance to pursue her investigation when she asked xavier to the dance (which would allow wednesday to attend the dance through methods accurate to her character), but the moment he dropped the invitation, she decided to ditch the dance (like she had planned to anyways) and fully planned her night of investigation with eugene which seems to me like more fun for wednesday than a dance could ever be.

like i'm sorry, if youre gonna write wednesday ooc just to push a tropey side plot then it just shows how much of her character you dont understand. sure her dance is "iconic" but that doesnt always mean the context is true to the character

in the future ill make a longer post actually breaking down and analysing the entire dance scene
