So I just want to go back to Naruto Gaiden once again and how it tells us the way adult Sakura interacts with other women, specifically women with some sort of connection to Sasuke.
INO
Although in Naruto Gaiden we're not given a single panel where Sakura talks negatively about any women, chapter 10 of Naruto Gaiden gives us the clearest example of how off-screen she definitely does talk negatively about some women.
Ino is greeting Sasuke after years of not seeing him, we have no idea how many years had passed since the two interacted but considering that Naruto is the only person that sees him often & Sasuke didn't return to Konoha for Naruto's wedding, they've probably haven't seen each other since Sasuke left the village to go on his atonement journey, so about 12 years.
Yet the moment Sarada sees and hears Ino she is wary of her. In the next panel we see her with her arms up looking uneasy and distressed with the words BLOCK (in other translations it says STEP IN) above her, indicating she's either signaling Ino to stop talking to Sasuke or blocking Ino from physically approaching Sasuke. Ino is of course dumbfounded by this and Sakura is behind them laughing nervously in embarrassment.
This indicates to us that Sakura has talked about Ino in a negative light to Sarada. We know that Ino had a crush on Sasuke when they were 12 that she eventually grew out of and Sakura must know this because Ino is now married to another man who is also the father of her own child and yet Sakura still sees her as a threat to her relationship with Sasuke to the point Sarada herself sees Ino as a threat to her family.
KARIN
We're not shown a single interaction between Sakura and Karin but we're given enough information to know that Sakura's thoughts on Karin are somewhat complicated.
So first things first.
Kishimoto has never written about the circumstances that brought Sasuke and Sakura together. What we know is 1. Sasuke rejected Sakura after she suggested to go with him on his atonement journey. 2. Sasuke didn't return to Konoha for Naruto's wedding (which was written in a very shady way). 3. Sakura went after Sasuke after Naruto's wedding (which was also written in a shady way). 4. They traveled together alongside team Taka during Sakura's pregancy. 5. After Sakura gave birth to Sarada she went back to Konoha to raise the child all by herself and Sasuke had no intention in being present in Sarada's life (had Sarada not chased Naruto and Naruto not taken Sarada to Sasuke, who knows when Sasuke and Sarada would've met).
Keep in mind Sasuke never cared about Sakura before Sarada. In Naruto, Sasuke pretty much says he doesn't care if Sakura lives or dies, and in Naruto Gaiden, Sasuke still doesn't care about Sakura after Sarada is born as we see how he looks less than amused when he sees Sakura after years of no contact and how he keeps denying her any sort of affection (they've never kissed).
So it's safe to assume Sasuke still didn't care about Sakura while she was pregnant with Sarada (yikes) which lead us to believe it was Karin who took care of Sakura during her pregnancy.
Karin reveals to us, the readers, very important information:
Karin delivered Sarada.
Sakura gave birth at one of team Taka's hideouts.
Karin gifted Sarada the pair of glasses she wears.
Those glasses are Karin's and the ones she had within reach considering Team Taka doesn't hangout around kids (in chapter 8 we see small Sarada wear glasses too big for her).
Karin is fond of Sarada, she calls her "Sarada-chan" and has also kept her in her mind long enough to know that Sarada has grown out of the pair of glasses she gifted her as a baby (chapter 10).
Karin even preserved Sakura's umbilical cord that Sakura didn't take with her.
Basically, Karin likes the child. Some people interpret this information as proof that Sarada might be an experiment that Karin was involved in, but that's not what this post is discussing so let's digress.
How does Sakura feel about Karin?
Unlike she did with Ino, Sakura doesn't talk shit about Karin, instead she simply doesn't acknowledge her at all. This obviously leads to a messy situation: Sakura took a picture of teenage Sasuke with team Taka (but not her umbilical cord lol) and plastered her own picture over Karin's face.
What is particularly funny is that had Sakura just had that picture of team Taka framed normally and Sarada eventually asked about the woman with glasses she could've just said "Oh! that's Karin she's the medic-nin that delivered you when you were born :) she also gifted you the glasses you wear. I wonder what she's up to now?" perfectly normal response that would've answered some of her daughter's doubts and calmed her insecurites. But no, Sakura had to be very secretive about it because God forbid there are other women in Sasuke's life.
When Sakura is told that Sarada found the picture of Taka and ran away to find her dad this is her reaction.
She knows she fucked up. Also, it's very bizarre behaviour to act like this towards the woman who basically looked after you during your pregnancy and who has your child's best interests at heart. Even as an adult Sakura is still a male-centered woman. She cares about having a man before anything else hence her behaviour. Any woman that she feels threatens her status as Sasuke's wife is an enemy to her, she either talks shit about them, ignores their existence or in some twisted way tries to take their place.
Although I personally believe Sakura does care about and loves Sarada, I also believe Sakura sees Sarada as an extension of Sasuke thus as an extension of her status as Sasuke's wife. Sarada is the only proof Sakura has that she and Sasuke are together because that man could not care less about her, so in a twisted way Sakura doesn't want Sarada near other women in the way she doesn't want Sasuke near other women and she also wants Sarada to mistrust other women in the way she mistruts other women.
This insecurity not only reflects poorly on Sakura but also showcases how fragile Sakura and Sasuke's marriage is if Sakura and Sarada have to be up in arms everytime a woman approaches Sasuke.
What Naruto Gaiden shows us is that Sakura is an emotionally stunted, immature, selfish, male-obsessed woman who in order to feed her self-delusions has no issues of hurting her daughter along the way. Just sad.
Now I wonder how she feels about the fact that it was Naruto who brought Sarada and Sasuke together and who was able to pacify a dismayed Sarada. Always Naruto and never her.

kinda funny how fugaku calls itachi a kind child, and then 5 minutes later, itachi tortures his 7 year old brother.
fugaku: itachi, you truly are a kind child. take care of sasuke...
itachi: don't worry father, i will.
also itachi: tortures sasuke twice, manipulates and abandons him, and literally ruins his life.

thoughts on sasusaku + sarada and their...family
Will start this out by stating that this is a combination of observation and analysis so take it with a grain of salt.
(If you like sasusaku/ss, this ain't for you so please do yourself a favor and scroll away.)
naruhina + boruto version.
This is definitely the most fucked up thing to ever come in fruition in the sequel and they weren't even justified in Gaiden. LMAO.
Diving into this family's issue at hand, it's pretty much about Sasuke being an absent father and being away from his family for more than a decade--not to mention that Sasuke is able to freaking report to the Hokage but not even pay a visit to his family.
Gaiden was pretty much good at covering the topic already but let's break down how dysfunctional it is:
The lack of evidence signified about Sasuke and Sakura being married. We see pictures of Sakura and Sarada at important moments of her life but not a single wedding photo. Sarada pretty much asking Sakura if she's really Sasuke's wife is valid because she won't doubt from the beginning if there was telltale evidence supporting that information. There isn't.
The "family" photo. Sasuke was roughly seventeen in that photo, not to mention it's next to Sakura who is in her 30s at that point. Isn't it strange? No updated photo since they got married? What's fucked up is that she had to cover up the rest of Taka behind that photo. That raised more questions, specifically, Sarada asking who those people are and who is the one wearing glasses like she does.
And, yeah. The glasses thing. It was a simple yes or no question. Sakura saying that she doesn't know is inane because they had spent time as Team 7 in the past, not to mention the sporadic moment they see each other (Orochimaru's hideout, that bridge where she tried to kill him but failed), and during the war. I don't know where she's looking but Sasuke hasn't worn glasses at all and if she can't answer that simple question, that says more about her. Anyway, that fed the idea that she doesn't know a single thing about her husband at all and Sarada notices this. Naruto who was able to say information about Sasuke unprompted, pretty much what Sarada needed to hear--yeah, I know. Shocker.
Sasuke's first meeting with Sarada. I've seen enough takes about him being an absent father. I'm not disagreeing with that. However, I present another perspective: Sasuke doesn't even know what his daughter looks like even though it's been shown that he was in Konoha at the time that Naruto is already Hokage (which would mean Sarada would be around seven or eight years old) and Sakura is in that same room, too. You're telling me that she couldn't have at least fucking introduce Sarada and Sasuke to each other? It's easy to shift the blame to the absent father because he simply isn't there but when Sakura, who knows the mission and with uncertainties on its duration, couldn't have made the initiative to simply give the kid an assurance that yeah, this is your dad, he exists and to Sasuke, she's Sarada and she's seven and she wears glasses. If making them meet is too much, at least a fucking photo would suffice it. But no. Nothing of the sort coming from Sakura. Why? Because she's okay with Sasuke being absent. She doesn't see any issue with it.
Communication. This is a controversial take and I will keep it simple. If Naruto and Sasuke can communicate and contact each other, what's stopping Sakura from reaching out to Sasuke? Isn't she his wife? She could literally write her own letter and send it alongside Naruto's but no efforts had been made on that. This is the benefit of the doubt but if Sakura at least reached out, then it's up to Sasuke to either intentionally ignore that or respond to her. My point here is initiative--it has been shown time and time again that she can do that, we've seen instances of it in the prequel. Did she stop because she finally got what she wants and is content with whatever crumbs she could hold on to?
Sarada's birth. The sketchiest of them all. Some people wrote excellent analysis on this so please do check them out. My two cents on this is Orochimaru discussing cloning to Naruto and pretty much piquing Sarada's curiosity about the concept (which later on led to DNA testing as courtesy of Suigetsu). Sasuke pretty much reacted this way:
Usually, ellipsis in media is used when the character is pondering/thinking about something. It also represents speechlessness or a pause. Now tell me, if Sarada's birth isn't sketchy and was in some sort of way, normal, why did Sasuke casted that wayward side glance? The entirety of Gaiden as well as this page was meant to make the readers question Sarada's conception. For a backstory, Kishimoto sure left more questions than answers.
Everything is unconventional like Sakura not keeping the umbilical cord and Karin has it instead, no records at Konoha Hospital when Sakura works there and can coordinate with the proper department/s to handle paperworks, traveling while pregnant (ma'am you are a medic-nin, make it make sense), etc. I will leave this as it is, again, it has been discussed extensively by various blogs here.
In conclusion, even in adulthood, Naruto and Sasuke knows each other best. They become expert parents (at least) around each other's kids. In a fucked up way, I think it's a silent cry for help aka look I'm good with your kid and we could've been good parents together but we were forced into these marriages.
Sasusaku ended up canon but it still doesn't change the fact that Sakura knows little to nothing about Sasuke to the point that Sarada picked up on that and even threw it at her face. At the end of the day, Naruto remained as the one and only that knows Sasuke's heart best.

One thing that annoys me about boruto is that naruto ended with the confirmation that Sasuke was *right* but that his *methods* weren't the best way to achieve what he wants
Naruto agrees that shinobi society needs to be massively overhauled, he just thinks it can be achieved without mass death or at the cost of Sasuke. Youre not supposed to end Naruto believing that Konoha's system was correct.
You're supposed to leave the manga *knowing that Sasuke's beliefs were correct, it was his methods which weren't the best path forward*
Naruto wants to take the pacifist path of talking and communication, but he doesn't fundamentally disagree with Sasuke.
But then we get to boruto and what do we have? The same system except the villages get along now. Great. So different. Also for some reason Sasuke is willing to die for the sake of Konoha.
You're supposed to end Naruto knowing that sasuke was correct about shinobi society and hoping that Naruto will bring about change even if sasuke doesn't stay (his """redemption""" tour which was unneeded because he was the fucking victim) but boruto shows us a society where nothing has changed
#pro sasuke uchiha#shinobi society#konoha#naruto#boruto#anti boruto#i guess#ive gotta be honest i read through boruto up until sasuke lost the rinnegan all in the past week#unlike with naruto i had no prior experience with boruto#with naruto i watched it as a kid like i remember watching it i remember watching the finale#so reading it over last week was more sending me down memory lane than anything#but boruto? i went in knowing nothing#and i was... not pleased ive gotta be honest#the only good part of boruto was Kawaki#and not even his karma or that shit. his arc with ptsd and learning to integrate into naruto's family was what was interesting#so the best thing about the only good boruto character wasnt how he contributed to the plot#but instead his mini arc that covers only about 5-10 chapters#also sasuke's design is nice#i like how it is reminiscent of itachi#its like hes honoring his family even though he no longer wears their crest

I wonder if all the stories Itachi learned about the Uchiha were like this. Stories of abuse of power and fratricidal fights. I wonder where he learned them, if by any chance he was fed this biased tales from the enemies of the Uchiha, who were the ones in charge of the education system of the village, probably the ones that controlled information and the ones with the power to rewrite history in the way they pleased.
I always thought he was intentionally lying when he claimed Madara murdered Izuna to take his eyes, but after remembering the Izanami/Izanagi tale, I am considering the possibility that maybe he actually believed that. Maybe he really thought he came from a dynasty of power thirsty bastards capable of killing their own flesh and blood for dominance. I wonder if he ever got a chance to get the other version of the story from his own clan, the family he felt so isolated from. Or even, if more people in the clan actually believed the same.
#There is clearly bullshit in this tale#each user can only cast izanagi twice and at the cost of total blindness#so how come the “endless reworkings” it does not make sense#I don't know if this is pro or anti Itachi#pro Uchiha#anti Konoha#I don't like Madara#but he got so much undeserved hate from his own family and village#so unfair

I finally… I finally got my first bit of revenge for Itachi… it's like the disgrace of the Uchiha clan is being cleansed. Like I'm separating the Uchiha clan from the rotten ninja world. You might even say it's what Konoha always wanted. You always repudiated the Uchiha clan, so now we will disappear from your memories just like you always wanted. When I kill everyone in Konoha! By severing the bond, we will be purified! That will be the true revival of the Uchiha clan!

I see my Twitter filled with the posts related to 'Uchiha family' and see something is amiss. Sarada and Sakura don't make the 'Uchiha family.' Not to me, at least. The only Uchiha family I care about and comes to my mind is with Sauske, Itachi, Mikoto, and Fugaku. With all their imperfections, they're the Uchiha family that matters and counts. Everything else is artificial.

I've seen some Narusasu blogs make the argument that Sakura seems to believe that the forehead poke is a a good/romantic thing.
However upon re-reading Naruto Gaiden I've got to disagree with that notion. Sakura is very much aware of the true meaning behind the forehead poke.
On chapter 8 of Naruto Gaiden we see small Sarada starts asking questions regarding Sasuke's whereabouts
Me and other blogs have already pointed out how Sasuke's mission started years after Sarada was born and Naruto was already Hokage, but since Sarada has no recollection of him being present during her childhood it becomes clear Sasuke had no intention in being a present father and playing house with Sakura from the very beginning.
So going back to Sarada and Sakura's conversation over Sasuke; Sakura, as we see, becomes overwhelmed with Sarada's interrogation and isn't honest with her. She pretends the reason why Sasuke hasn't been present in Sarada's life is because of this dangerous, grueling, important mission. However we already know that Sasuke went on a mission much later and before that he still didn't care about Sarada. On top of that, when Sarada asks about showcases of affection between her parents Sakura once again is unable to say the truth and instead deflects.
Here's where some might make the argument that Sakura believes a poke in the forehead is better than a kiss from Sasuke she's never actually received. That's not what's happening though.
Sakura is deflecting, changing the topic and making Sarada a false promise. She's promising Sarada they'll talk about Sasuke later and she will explain her marriage to him and the truth of his whereabouts. But as we know that never happens hence why Sarada escapes to find her father herself. Sakura acknowledges this years later.
This is exactly how Itachi used the forehead poke on Sasuke and how Sasuke used it on Sakura that one time. Make a false promise you have no intention in fulfilling and say "maybe next time". It's almost like a cycle of neglect.
Itachi promised to spend time with Sasuke but he never did to the point Sasuke grew to detest the poke and when they reunite for the last time and Itachi apologizes for what he did he doesn't poke Sasuke's forehead anymore, he unites their foreheads instead as there are no more false promises to make nor lies to tell.
When Sasuke used the poke on Sakura it's after Sakura suggested to go with him on his atonement journey, Sasuke rejects her telling her it has nothing to do with her then pokes her forehead and says "maybe next time" but as we know that next time never happened as Sakura herself had to chase Sasuke after Naruto got married to Hinata because Sasuke never came back to the village. So this time it was Sakura's turn to make a false promise to her child telling her "next time" they'll be able to talk about her dad but that conversation never happened.
When the mission is over and Sasuke goes back to Konoha for one night & the next morning he's about to leave Konoha again we see him poke Sarada's forehead after he sees her get sad over him leaving again.
He promises Sarada just like Sakura did to her, just like he did to Sakura and just like Itachi did to him a "next time" that will never come. In the manga Boruto we would see Sarada state her father prefers to spend time with Boruto over her so you already know how it goes; Sarada wanted a present father and her father only gave her the false promise he would be but he never was.
After receiving the poke Sarada turns to look at her mom and what's Sakura's reaction? another one of her famous fake smiles. Why? because she knows the implications here and there's nothing she can do about it. This is the marriage she chose and fought for.
Also, funny how unimpressed Sasuke looks at Sakura.
Now, some Sasusaku shippers make the argument that since Sakura and child Sasuke blushed when getting poked then that must mean the poke is a positive thing.
This is a very surface level argument to make that ignores ALL the context surrounding the forehead poke that Kishimoto wrote (usual for SS shippers, that's the extent of their analyses lol).
So why do they all blush? simple, they believed the lies, these were the first times each one of them got the poke and were promised something they would never get.
The blush does not implicate love or any positive connotations. The blush indicates naivety.

I always love movies or anime that depict family drama. When I saw Sasuke’s family, I truly could resonate with him. That’s a standard Asian family.
That’s why I have a soft spot for him. If you love your family so dearly that to lose them all in a blink would destroy someone’s mind. He didn’t become some lunatics but still walked on his path to avenge his family. That’s the achievement itself.
For someone like Sasuke, he literally had no other path. For justice, he needed to kill Itachi because he massacred the whole clan. For family, he needed to kill him for he killed their parents. However, killing this person would assure him to be forever alone.
In Chinese, it called, 義, similar to morality, but it’s much closer to justice. Something in between.
That’s why I couldn’t like Itachi. He was narcissistic. He considered him the solution of this dilemma. Regardless of the outcome, he should let his clan members decide, but he was just smart and wanted to save Konoha from civil wars and his family’s face and his brother?
So…other clan members weren’t important because they weren’t the main clan? (Hinata’s father seemed better right now. He just gave his cousins seals. No life threatening. Just a reminder of who you are.)
Itachi massacred the whole clan, including babies, children, teenagers, and someone’s parents just for saving other people in Konoha. That’s just evil. Every life matters. And a lot of people said he was right.
Are you kidding me?
Yeah, Just get rid of the people he didn’t like for a better outcome for humankind. That’s just wonderful.
After I saw this drawing, I could totally get why Susake had some strong reactions.
Tell me Itachi is right, if you still could.
How could you still think he was sparing their pains? They didn’t need this pain in the first place!!A lot of his clan members didn’t know about the coup. Who gave him the right to decide?
He could just kill the people who were in charge of the coup, but no, for Uchiha was evil, he needed to kill them all. For saving the face, he needed to kill them.
Sound familiar, right? How was it different from old Asian Culture or Indian Culture, which allow the clan members to kill women conducting adultery just to save face?
And a lot of people shipped Uchiha Izumi and Itachi. I just couldn’t imagine. She would rather live, okay? There are a lot of men in the world. No matter how useless she might be, she could still find someone who loved her and she loved back.
The word, Love, could never erase Itachi’s sin. He could claim he loved his brother all along but what he had done during Massacre and after it were torture and nothing else. There were some fan fictions that Sasuke saved him from death or spared him because of learning the truth.
I don’t think that would work. Itachi had forced himself and his brother to the corner and there was absolute no turning back.
Sasuke is someone who has clear ideas in the right and wrong. Despite it’s Konoha’s order, but the person who carried out was his brother. His brother was the one who decided all Uchiha should die for the greater good.
Itachi had done the things that no humankind would allow. I truly pitied him because his life was nothing but a sigh. He had chosen the path to the darkness and only death could bring him peace. He couldn’t afford to think in other ways or he would need to face his mistakes. That’s painful and sad.

Sawada Nana's Breakdown
The Vongola didn’t hesitate to use Nana’s fragile state as a tool to manipulate Yuka into forming a bond with her cousin by marriage. Sawada Nana, a shell of her former self, was caught in a whirlwind of grief and delusions, clinging to the idea of family as her lifeline. They believed that if Yuka connected with Nana, she might feel obligated to stay, to shoulder the burden of keeping the family together and protect and take care of the delusional frail civilian woman. And use Nana (and her clueness and naiveness) against Yuka.
Yuka didn’t pitied her much, the naive trusting woman put strangers in her house, called Tsuna useless, watched and giggled at her son's abuse. And still loving the husband that got Tsuna killed. Said man never visited after Tsuna's death.
Iemitsu haven't visit Nana since Tsuna went 'missing' and just told her to not file missing people reports because he was probally killed.
Nana, for her part, leaned heavily into the role she was given, though whether it was by her own volition or the result of her fragile mental state was unclear. She tried to mother Yuka in the same air-headed, overbearing way that she had clung to the illusion of a perfect family. “You shouldn’t be so disrespectful to darling Iemitsu,” she scolded once, her voice trembling with a mixture of frustration and desperation. “He’s done so much for this family. For you. He loves us.”
Yuka, ever defiant, crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. “Respect is earned, not demanded, Sawada” she shot back, her words cutting through Nana’s delusion like a blade.
Nana’s face crumpled, her breathing quickened, and her hands shook as she gripped the back of a chair. Her voice rose, nearing hysteria. “You don’t understand! Darling Iemitsu has sacrificed so much! You can’t talk about him like that! We are family!”
The room fell silent as Yuka stood her ground, her lips pressed into a thin line. For a moment, she felt a pang of guilt, not for her words but for how easily Nana seemed to shatter. Still, Yuka refused to be pulled into this web of manipulation disguised as concern. She knew the Vongola’s game and wasn’t about to play along, even if Nana was caught in the crossfire.
Nana...keep showing up in her room, with her annoying apathetic cheerfulness and bringing them food and refreshments and attempt to mother Yuka, sometimes seeking physical contact, seeking comfort and wanting to stay and spend time with her 'niece' and talk about cooking together like women, get to know her....its always refused and firmly told to leave. No matter how much the woman sobbed or pounted or cried or looked sadly at Yuka, Touka showed her the door, Akari called her a crazy bitch to her face and Yuka insinted on begin called 'Uchiha-san'.
"Please call me Mama, Yu-chan," Nana would say sweetly, her tone insistent. "We need to be close, like mother and daughter."
Yuka, irritated, would snap back, "I’m not your daughter, Sawada. I don’t need you to be my mother."
Nana treated Yuka as if she were a little girl, calling her 'Yu-chan' even talking about pink dresses and make up as if Yuka’s own style wasn't a pratical black and blue and red clothes more suited for combat.
Yuka refused to eat Nana’s food, and the brown-haired woman keep looking sadly at her, she clearly had some happy delusions.
Her expectations were high, yet completely out of touch with Yuka’s own desires and the world in general. The crazy woman had some delusional vision a happy family and how women should act in said family that made the brown-haired woman cling on her and chase her around any time she saw the girl.
“We should cook together, Yu-chan." Nana would say, cheerful. “It’s important to take care of the boys, you know. They need someone who can cook them a proper meal, just like I do for my darling Iemitsu. Like a family."
They got into daily arguments about Iemitsu, often ending with Nana crying her eyes out about Yuka begin a 'mean child' to her perfect husband just like her useless son. Even if Yuka just tried to leave in spite of Iemitsu's gushing about 'family time', Nana would just pout cutely and tell Yuka she needed to obey her darling husband or just start sobbing at Yuka for not pretending hers is not a broken family.
Given how Sawada Iemitsu acted, he clearly expected she would 'play nice' in the naive woman's presence and entretain her fixations, a 'social trap' of sort to make the pale girl be polite to Iemitsu and even allow him to manipulate her easily. The housewife's naive and airheadness made her snap at her multiple times and often tell her to fuck the hell off and even Akari just started to openly refer her as 'that Sawada bitch'.
Nana looked nearly damn desperate when Iemitsu visited her at the mansion. She clung to every interaction, acting the part of a perfect, doting wife to her missing husband, as though trying to keep her rose-tinted world intact. When he suggested she should “get to know her beloved uncle,” Nana seized on the idea with fervor, turning to her with conviction.
She was determined in making Yuka 'bond' with Iemitsu.
The woman ambushed her one evening with Iemitsu snoring and drunk on the couch and Nana trying to coerce Yuka to serve drinks and cooking her 'uncle' food as 'training' for her future husband.
Iemitsu stationed his men at the dinner room's doors, their presence a silent but unmistakable barrier. The CEDEF boss keep trying to stop Yuka from leaving Namimori, ordering her 'home' and calling her 'little Yu-chan' as if they were family.
Hoshi was not happy. Iemitsu keep changelling the man - violently - and Yuka was five minutes from openning the blond's throat with her sword.
But the requests soon turned into demands. Nana hovered constantly, watching Yuka’s every move as if afraid she would disappear at any moment. If Yuka was out of sight for too long, Nana would spiral into a panic, wandering the house and calling her name with an edge of hysteria. When she found Yuka—whether in the garden, her room, or sneaking off to plan her next adventure—Nana would cling to her like a lifeline, insisting they spend more time together.
“Why my baby won't stay with me?,” Nana would plead, placing her hand on her cheek, holding Yuka’s hand as though letting go would shatter her. “I get so lonely, I want you to take care of me.”
Nana’s anorexia, insonia and stress made her constantly ill, Touka informed she was having terrible nightmares too since Tsuna went 'missing'. And demaded care, Yuka’s care, maybe because she was a girl? And girls are caretakers? Why Nana wasn't after her husband? The woman keep dropping hints about always wanting a daughter and how she missed her useless lazy Tsu-kun.
Yuka tried to set boundaries, but Nana would brush them aside. If Yuka retreated to her room, Nana would quietly enter late at night to check if she was still there, standing over her as she slept. Once Yuka locked the door and Nana keep trying to break in to watch her sleep every night, going into a hysterical panic attack when the door didn't open.
The situation worsened as Nana’s physical health declined. She became frailer, thinner and often didn't sleep, her once-bright demeanor dimming under the weight of her own grief and delusions. Yet, she refused to acknowledge her limits, insisting on cooking for Iemitsu or cleaning despite trembling hands and labored breaths.
One evening, when Yuka announced she would be leaving for a few days, Nana’s composure crumbled. “You can’t leave, I...!” she looked ready to faint again. “I need you here. Your home is here with me! You are not leaving my sight,” Nana said, trying to sound like a protective mother. Her panic spiraled into a near-physical collapse, clutching her chest and nearly stopped breathing as Yuka stood frozen, caught between guilt and exasperation.
Yuka tried to calm her, but it was clear Nana’s state was far beyond what anyone in the house could handle. Her insistence on mothering, on forcing a bond that wasn’t there, had taken a toll on them both. It was only a matter of time before everything came crashing down.
When Yuka did went to Namimori to solve a few things with her official Guardians, Nana 'surprised' her with the fact she made a room in the Sawada Household for her, all baby pink and princess-like and delicate decorated for a five-years old little girl, Nana cheerful told her that this is her home now and she will never let her leave.
The kunoichi stayed in a hotel nearby, left the town within five days. This resulted in Nana screaming and chasing after Yuka, trying to grab her while sobbing and begging her to stay. She has to be hospitalizated by Touka after her mental breadown.
Another time, where Nana had been confined to bed with IVs in her arms due barely managing to walk to the bedroom without assistence, Yuka visited her briefly, but attempted to leave shortly after.
"Okay, Yu-chan, but if you don’t come back, I am ripping off the IV and going after you." Nana said, trying to sound like lioness protecting her cub.
Yuka paused and raised a eyebrown. "Do it, then." She said flatly. Nana blinked, stunned. "You are not worth saving."
Nana herself put the idea on her head that 'Iemitsu's motherless niece' would be coming to Namimori to take care of her, and for her to care for the girl without a mother.
The crazy woman needed a good slap to the face, Iemitsu did told her its for the best they just went along and keep Nana in the dark and with her delusions...while taking care of her. Yuka though otherwise.
....
Nana’s fragile mental state had been deteriorating for years, but it finally reached a breaking point. Grief, delusions, and her obsession with recreating a picture-perfect family had consumed her entirely. She would wander the household aimlessly, mumbling to herself about happy family dinners and how everything would go back to normal when Iemutsu came home. Looking at Yuka hopefully and obssessed while trying to make her stay in Namimori. Her scoldings and clingness of Yuka grew sharper and more frantic, often veering into incoherent rants about cooking, family, and how perfect Iemitsu had done so much for them all.
One evening, after Yuka once again refused to sit through one of Nana’s forced “family meals,” Nana erupted. Her face flushed, her hands trembled violently, and her voice cracked as she screamed, “Don't talk about Iemitsu like that! Why you are such a difficult child?" She cried.
When Yuka turned to leave, refusing to be dragged into yet another emotional tirade, Nana’s composure completely shattered. She collapsed onto the floor, clutching her head and sobbing uncontrollably, rocking back and forth as her cries echoed through the house.
Sawada Nana was admited to the mental hospital two days later and diagnosticated with depression, anorexia, insonia and delusional insanity.
She didn’t hate Nana—how could she?—but she couldn’t live under the crushing weight of the woman’s delusions any longer. It wasn’t healthy for either of them.
She was one of Tsuna's main shackles, to keep the boy from leaving Namimori and forcing him to play nice to his sperm donor, the emotional abuse and neglect also keep him more broken and tamed.
The frail woman had a mental breakdown and keep screaming and crying about her perfect family and darling Iemitsu all the time, wont stop demanding everyone to give her Tsu-chan back to her
