I found out that two critics ended up disagreeing with the two posts I made last night regarding Vivziepop making Saint Peter gay in Hazbin Hotel. I since then ended up blocking them because I want to avoid the toxic side of the anti/critic community. I also edited out their usernames for privacy sake. If you know who they are, please don't argue with them.

I would like to point out in the last post from last night that I did criticize Vivziepop for whitewashing Peter due to the fact that the Bible took place in the Middle East. I'm also fully aware of the fact Viv wrote Peter to be a stereotype of gay men like her other gay male characters.

There's currently a debate as to whether the people from the Bible (including Jesus) were actually real or not, but I could care less. I'll say this again like I did in my posts from last night. Media making fun of Christians and Christianity isn't a new thing. It's clear Vivziepop is making fun of Christianity by making people from the Bible like Adam to be written as evil people. She also appropriated Voodoo by using Voodoo symbols in her work (as Voodoo is a closed practice).

I want to point out that Christians aren't an oppressed group of people. They have murdered anyone who refuses to convert to Christianity (The Crusades, the Spanish Inquistion, and the witch trials that happened all over Europe prior to the one that happened in Salem) and stolen traditions from Pagans and label Pagainsm as "demonic" and "evil". The issues happening in the United States (the country I live in) where Queer and Trans people and women are slowing are being stripped away of their rights are being caused by Christians. The whole thing of antisemitic conspiracy theories that were being spread during the height of the pandemic were created and back by Christians. There are more things I could list that Christians have done to anyone they're prejudiced against, but I don't want to derail this post.

To end this post, I don't care if there are other critics that disagree with me. I don't care if other critics and antis end up blocking me, make posts to block me, or make call-out posts. I'm not telling people to burn down churches or assault any Christian that comes their way. If you saw my posts and got upset (Christian or not) about what I have to say about Christians and Christianity (as a former member of the church), I would recommend to look into the atrocities Christians have done in the name of Christianity throughout the centuries, as well as listen to voices of those who have experience abuse within the church.

I’m about to save you thousands of dollars in therapy by teaching you what I learned paying thousands of dollars for therapy:

It may sound woo woo but it’s an important skill capitalism and hyper individualism have robbed us of as human beings.

Learn to process your emotions. It will improve your mental health and quality of life. Emotions serve a biological purpose, they aren’t just things that happen for no reason.

1. Pause and notice you’re having a big feeling or reaching for a distraction to maybe avoid a feeling. Notice what triggered the feeling or need for a distraction without judgement. Just note that it’s there. Don’t label it as good or bad.

2. Find it in your body. Where do you feel it? Your chest? Your head? Your stomach? Does it feel like a weight everywhere? Does it feel like you’re vibrating? Does it feel like you’re numb all over?

3. Name the feeling. Look up an emotion chart if you need to. Find the feeling that resonates the most with what you’re feeling. Is it disappointment? Heartbreak? Anxiety? Anger? Humiliation?

4. Validate the feeling. Sometimes feelings misfire or are disproportionately big, but they’re still valid. You don’t have to justify what you’re feeling, it’s just valid. Tell yourself “yeah it makes sense that you feel that right now.” Or something as simple as “I hear you.” For example: If I get really big feelings of humiliation when I lose at a game of chess, the feeling may not be necessary, but it is valid and makes sense if I grew up with parents who berated me every time I did something wrong. So I could say “Yeah I understand why we are feeling that way given how we were treated growing up. That’s valid.”

5. Do something with your body that’s not a mental distraction from the feeling. Something where you can still think. Go on a walk. Do something with your hands like art or crochet or baking. Journal. Clean a room. Figure out what works best for you.

6. Repeat, it takes practice but is a skill you can learn :)

The nazis that you see in movies are as much a historical fantasy as vikings with horned helmets and samurai cutting people in half.

The nazis were not some vague evil that wanted to hurt people for the sake of hurting them. They had specific goals which furthered a far right agenda, and they wanted to do harm to very specific groups, (largely slavs, jews, Romani, queer people, communists/leftists, and disabled people.)

The nazis didn't use soldiers in creepy gas masks as their main imagery that they sold to the german people, they used blond haired blue eyed families. Nor did they stand up on podiums saying that would wage an endless and brutal war, they gave speeches about protecting white Christian society from degenerates just like how conservatives do today.

Nazis weren't atheists or pagans. They were deeply Christian and Christianity was part of their ideology just like it is for modern conservatives. They spoke at lengths about defending their Christian nation from godless leftism. The ones who hated the catholic church hated it for protestant reasons. Nazi occultism was fringe within the party and never expected to become mainstream, and those occultists were still Christian, none of them ever claimed to be Satanists or Asatru.

Nazis were also not queer or disabled. They killed those groups, before they had a chance to kill almost anyone else actually. Despite the amount of disabled nazis or queer/queer coded nazis you'll see in movies and on TV, in reality they were very cishet and very able bodied. There was one high ranking nazi early on who was gay and the other nazis killed him for that. Saying the nazis were gay or disabled makes about as much sense as saying they were Jewish.

The nazis weren't mentally ill. As previously mentioned they hated disabled people, and this unquestionably included anyone neurodivergent. When the surviving nazi war criminals were given psychological tests after the war, they were shown to be some of the most neurotypical people out there.

The nazis weren't socialists. Full stop. They hated socialists. They got elected on hating socialists. They killed socialists. Hating all forms of lefitsm was a big part of their ideology, and especially a big part of how they sold themselves.

The nazis were not the supervillians you see on screen, not because they didn't do horrible things in real life, they most certainly did, but because they weren't that vague apolitical evil that exists for white American action heros to fight. They did horrible things because they had a right wing authoritarian political ideology, an ideology that is fundamentally the same as what most of the modern right wing believes.

Christmas Movie, but it's from the perspective of Jesus Christ, who sneaks back to Earth, and is immediately confused why everyone is celebrating his birthday in December.

He wanders into a Megachurch on accident, thinking it was a mini mall, and hears an evangelist (who lives in a mansion) taking the Lord's name in Vain to guilt donations out of people. Then he gets arrested for rushing the stage and beating that guy with a whip.

A significant chunk of the movie is just his elaborate escape from prison, wherein he starts a riot upon learning how cruelly the prisoners are treated by a blasphemous carceral system.

The movie ends with him using God Magic on the president of the US, and being formally declared the Anti Christ by the Catholic Church

Hot take, but making Saint Peter gay isn't the worst thing Vivziepop has done. She probably might do it to other people from the Bible, too (if she wanted to). Christianity and Christians being mocked in media isn't a new thing. Family Guy literally had multiple episodes with Jesus in it, and there was one where he wanted to lose his virginity to Lois, and Peter had no issue with it until sometime towards the end of that same episode. Even South Park had some episodes mocking Christianity and had episodes with Jesus with it.

My only issue with Vivziepop adding people from the Bible is how extremely whitewashed they are. The Bible literally takes place in the Middle East, so they should be of a darker skin tone. No one from the Bible was white except for the people who killed Jesus (who were Romans since that area where the Bible happened was under the rule of the Roman Empire).

It would be funny as fuck if she got Jesus into Hazbin Hotel and made him Polyamorous and Pan and have him brag about how much sex he has (since Jesus loves everyone lmao). I'm going to continue to be critical about Viv and her work, but I can't wait for Christians (fans, antis, critics, and non-watchers) to have a complete shit fest if she continues to make other Bibical figures and Jesus Queer.
