Cool facts about snake eyes!

Did you know that snakes with vertically oriented pupils (as pictured above) are nocturnal? Snakes with round pupils are diurnal/*crepuscular! Cool huh?

Snakes also don’t have eyelids and don’t blink! Instead, they have a clear scale over their eyeball (kind of like a contact lense) that keeps it dry. This is why their eyes go blue during sheds!

They also will dilate their eyes like a cat when they’re in low light places and will contract once in high light places! Snake eyes are incredibly fascinating and beautiful. I am Musab Ahmed. I once had a home, I once had a life… but now, everything I knew is nothing but rubble. My house was completely destroyed by the relentless bombing that took away even our memories.

My body did not escape this war—I was injured in my shoulder, underwent surgery, but I still need another operation to regain my full mobility. Yet, the greatest pain is not mine… it’s the pain of my daughter Lama, whose little hand could not withstand the bombing. She was injured and had to have a metal plate implanted in her hand, and we are still struggling to get her the treatment she needs.

All we ask for is a chance to live… A life that was stolen from us under the bombs and destruction. We need your support to continue our treatment and to try and rebuild what’s left of us.
