Angry & Irritated Sentences, Vol. 27
(Angry and irritated sentences from various sources. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"This is just you projecting your own intimacy issues on everybody else!"
"Do be quiet for a minute and listen!"
"Sometimes when you know something, it's better to keep it to yourself."
"What are you trying to do? Cause more trouble?"
"Stop giving orders. On you, they sound so silly."
"Touchy, aren't you?"
"Do you have a plan, or are we just improvising here?"
"Are you going to talk me to death, buddy? Is that the plan?"
"You always have to push it, don't you?"
"For God sake! Could you be a human being for 30 seconds?"
"Are you forgetting you tried to kill me?"
"I'll let you know when I start having fun."
"You seem to have forgotten who's in charge here."
"I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions!"
"If once is a mistake and twice is unfortunate, what does that make this?"
"In case you haven't noticed, we are having a little bit of a crisis here!"
"You're out of control!"
"I do understand. Don't talk to me like I'm a monkey."
"You don't have to be afraid that I'll break into pieces!"
"Do you have any idea how many people are trying to kill us right now?"
"You're going to have to learn to calm down!"
"I hate deceit!"
"I don't care about your views! What do you think this is? Question time?"
"Do you think I don't see through your pitiful subterfuge?"
"I'm not quite as stupid as I look."
"Now, I'm not a complaining sort of chap as a rule, but I must say that in the future, you might want to be a little more careful!"
"Damn your hypocrisy!"
"You dismiss me at your peril."
"I'm not speaking to you right now."
"You are such a brat!"
"This is a slippery slope. You have no idea how far down you can go, and you're not taking me with you."
"I know you think you're helping, but you're doing more harm than good."
"I've done a lot of things for you in the past, but this? No way."

Palestinian men should not have to repeatedly hold up pictures of their family struggling through a genocide, for us to care about them. Fundraisers conducted by/for Palestinian men, should not have to repeatedly refer to their mothers, sisters, wives and children, to make us realize their humanity, their vulnerability. Enough. Isn't it enough after so many months? Hadn't it always been enough?

When I say “school should be disability accessible”, I don’t just mean we need handicap rails and EAs. Kids should be able to miss a day without failing out of school. You shouldn’t be dismissed from clubs because your attendance record is “spotty” (true story). I once missed an entire week of school because of a terrible, unending migraine. I was expected to keep up with my studies despite the blinding pain that came with working on my computer. When I heard my teachers say that you couldn’t miss exams, I asked what I would have to do to be excused from them. Their response? “Either get a doctor’s note an hour before the exam or death of an immediate family member.”
I cannot express how rigid this expectation was. First of all, with my condition, I wouldn’t have enough warning about my sickness to go to the doctor and request a note. For many people, this is exceptionally difficult, especially with the current shortage of medical professionals. Next, it ignores the fact that my schedule may not line with theirs because of my medical needs. Once, I had to visit a hospital a province away (which I was on the waiting list of for over a year) on the same day as an exam. I begged my mother not to take me because I was so nervous that I would be marked as an automatic fail. I was lucky enough to make it work, but that’s only because of my spectacular support system consisting of family members and wonderful doctors.
Disabilities aren’t always about needing a bus that can accommodate wheelchairs. It’s already difficult enough for many of us to maintain school attendance without the harsh punishments involved for skipping a day. We need to be able to miss school without being punished. Only than can you claim that the school is “accessible”

'wah wah everywhere is falling to the right wing the whole world is doomed' literally like 6 months ago we were talking about how there was a trend in countries getting rid of their right wing governments. poland at the end of last year, france voted in a unified centre left/left alliance, even the UK finally got rid of the tories after 15 years (right wing splitting be damned, it still happened). outside of europe, bangladesh removed a dictator in like 2 seconds, india may have reelected their Evil Guy but on a DISTINCTLY reduced majority, theres been queer rights successes in thailand, with gay marriage set to be legal by 2025, and thereve been positive court cases on it in japan. and this is just stuff i vaguely remember hearing about. im sure theres more if you care to look for anything aside from more reasons to make yourself miserable
the US has a distinct effect on everyone, so this won't be fun for anyone (least of all its population. sorry guys), and there ARE a lot of people sliding into right wing extremism, but presenting this like its an unchallenged worldwide phenomenon is inaccurate, its damagingly bleak, and all it does is encourage despair and apathy. you DO have political power, and you shouldnt forget that just because of bad election results and the media's desperation to make you lose hope

I have finally finished season 2 of Arcane and can now enjoy your art without fear!!! They should be happy together 🥺
I take it "they" means zaundads because that is what I've been drawing the most BUT, lets be honest, applies to like 98% of the characters in the show.
They should've been a big happy familyyyy

Not to sound like a person who actually cares about children, but it's so alarming that there's this tendency and trend of not telling kids about their medical conditions that are in their charts.
I'm finding out as an adult that they (though it's not documented who) diagnosed me with a life-long, chronic condition without telling me when I was a teenager. I found out recently when I got curious about my medical charts, and otherwise, I would not have known what's wrong with me. I've been left with more questions than answers, and I feel like a private investigator investigating my own damn health and life.
Is this medical malpractice? Yes. However, I think it also speaks to a broader point of how children are seen to not be entitled to their own lives in any capacity, to the point where they are (intentionally or not) made ignorant about things that are or will affect them.

if I've learned anything from grad school it's to check your sources, and this has proven invaluable in the dozens of instances when I've had an MBA-type try to tell me something about finances or leadership. Case in point:
Tumblr media
Firefox serves me clickbaity articles through Pocket, which is fine because I like Firefox. But sometimes an article makes me curious. I'm pretty anal about my finances, and I wondered if this article was, as I suspected, total horseshit, or could potentially benefit me and help me get my spending under control. So let's check the article in question.
It mostly seems like common sense. "...track expenses and income for at least a month before setting a budget...How much money do I have or earn? How much do I want to save?" Basic shit like that. But then I get to this section:
Tumblr media
This sounds fucking made up to me. And thankfully, they've provided a source to their claim that "research has repeatedly shown" that writing things down changes behavior. First mistake. What research is this?
Tumblr media
Forbes, naturally, my #1 source for absolute dogshit fart-sniffing financial schlock. Forbes is the type of website that guy from high school who constantly posts on linkedin trawls daily for little articles like this that make him feel better about refusing to pay for a decent package for his employees' healthcare (I'm from the United States, a barbaric, conflict-ridden country in the throes of civil unrest, so obsessed with violence that its warlords prioritize weapons over universal medical coverage. I digress). Forbes constantly posts shit like this, and I constantly spend my time at leadership seminars debunking poor consultants who get paid to read these claims credulously. Look at this highlighted text. Does it make sense to you that simply writing your financial goals down would result in a 10x increase in your income? Because if it does, let me make you an offer on this sick ass bridge.
Thankfully, Forbes also makes the mistake of citing their sources. Let's check to see where this hyperlink goes:
Tumblr media
SidSavara. I've never heard of this site, but the About section tells me that Sid is "a technology leader who empowers teams to grow into their best selves. He is a life-long learner enjoys developing software, leading teams in delivering mission critical projects, playing guitar and watching football and basketball."
That doesn't mean anything. What are his LinkedIn credentials? With the caveat that anyone can lie on Linkedin, Mr. Savara appears to be a Software Engineer. Which is fine! I'm glad software engineers exist! But Sid's got nothing in his professional history which suggests he knows shit about finance. So I'm already pretty skeptical of his website, which is increasingly looking like a personal fart-huffing blog.
The article itself repeats the credulous claim made in the Forbes story earlier, but this time, provides no link for the 3% story. Mr. Savara is smarter than his colleages at Forbes, it's much wiser to just make shit up.
HOWEVER. I am not the first person to have followed this rabbit hole. Because at the very top of this article, there is a disclaimer.
Tumblr media
Uh oh!
Sid's been called out before, and in the follow up to this article, he reveals the truth.
Tumblr media
You can guess where this is going.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So to go back to the VERY beginning of this post, both Pocket/Good Housekeeping and Forbes failed to do even the most basic of research, taking the wild claim that writing down your budget may increase your income by 10x on good faith and the word of a(n admittedly honest about his shortcomings) software engineer.
Why did I spend 30 minutes to make a tumblr post about this? Mostly to show off how smart I am, but also to remind folks of just how flimsy any claim on the internet can be. Click those links, follow those sources, and when the sources stop linking, ask why.

Angry & Irritated Sentences, Vol. 28
(Angry and irritated sentences from various sources. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"I don't even understand you half the time."
"And that is exactly what bad ethics and zero impulse control will get you!"
"We stay out of other people's business out here, if you catch my drift."
"I have no intention of running around like a rat in a maze until we're dead! I'm going back!"
"Were you spying on me?"
"What exactly is your point?"
"You think I'm dumb, don't you?"
"You'll do as you're told."
"Why do you insist on provoking him?"
"What is wrong with men today?"
"You blew up my plane!"
"Do you feel better after slapping me?"
"Are you bringing home strays now?"
"You do your job and I'll do mine."
"Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence?"
"You like reminding me of my past, don't you?"
"I don't know which I feel most: relief or anger."
"It's all an act with you, isn't it?"
"Oh. You're moody again."
"I must warn you that my patience is not inexhaustible."
"You must admit you have a talent for attracting trouble!"
"Is small talk a way you deal with your anxiety?"
"You're about as subtle as a train wreck!"
"With respect, I am capable of retaining more than one thought in my mind at the same time."
"This isn't a toy! You could have gotten hurt!"
"Do you want congratulations? Some praise? Well, you better get it somewhere else because I'm just about done with your bullshit."
"There's no way I can convince you that you're wrong, is there?"
"Pull yourself together! There's no reason to be frightened!"
"Don't ever defy me again."
"They think you're behaving foolishly. I must say, I agree."
"I can't talk to you right now!"
"I find you amusing up until a point, but you've passed that."
"How can you be so cold?"
"You're on thin ice!"
"You have an obtuse manner which some people find ingratiating. I do not. Do you follow me?"
"Every time you start becoming acceptable, you start making trouble again!"

we need to stop equating lack of independence with lack of maturity. people that live with their parents or have a caregiver or don't work or need more support than others aren't inherently immature. there's lots of reasons why people would be in this situation, even outside of disability (plenty of cultures out there expect people to live with their parents past what we consider the beginning of adulthood), and regardless of the reason we deserve support and community through what is already likely to be an isolating experience. don't make it worse for us

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!!
Even if most people are just joking, it bothers me when other people actually think it's all due to a failed relationship when the problem is actually bigger than that. Vi getting to this point isn't because she broke up with Caitlyn. She has bigger, more difficult things going on than just a failed relationship. Adding to that the most painful factor for Vi is when she fights Jinx, which is one of the factors that really affects her. She went from being protective of her sister to "hurting" her sister.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Losing Caitlyn was the last straw, as they say"
Caitlyn was the one who got Vi out of prison, She got her out of the worst place Vi had ever been in. And Caitlyn was the last person Vi could trust and now she's gone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean you can see she wasn't that miserable when she was in prison because she said herself, "The only thing that kept me going, was the thought of getting back to you." Now her sister is gone and Caitlyn is gone, the only two people left in her life. It's only natural that she would come to this point after literally losing everything.
Vi now has no hope no purpose and no one left after all the people she's lost along the way. It's really hard for Vi.
