HAHA! If Serkis lived with Gollum!

I think that's pretty accurate of Gollum living with just about anybody.

Sméagol would be different! The difference, really, is that Sméagol is eager to please and willing to learn, while Gollum is not.

At least, depending on who he's living with. Living with Sam would be a disaster, because Sam is cruel to him.

But if it were Frodo... very different story.

Naturally, Sméagol would be messy, he's not used to living in a home. And he might steal things, as a compulsive collector, or steal food if he felt Frodo planned to withhold it (He wouldn't think of it as stealing, though).

But I think Frodo would be a very understanding house mate, and help to teach Sméagol what is and isn't okay to do. When it comes to food, I imagine Frodo would offer it before Sméagol even had the thought that Frodo would withhold it. Frodo knows the creature is starved and withholding food would be cruel.

And Sméagol is not very argumentative where Frodo is concerned.

I think he'd make a fine house-mate, as long as the other was nice to him. He'd bring gifts as thanks for kindness and to solidify bond -- Dead animals, colorful rocks, shiny bones!

I've been having a difficult time with IWTV fan-casting, except for Gillian Anderson as Gabrielle, but I stumbled upon 2 ideas for Magnus:

Brad Dourif and Andy Serkis. Pretty much because both of them can play weird/creepy dudes really well. Like, picture that scene between Wormtongue and Eowyn but it's Magnus creeping on Lestat.

As for Andy Serkis, well, if you need someone to wear a gimp suit colored in dots for some motion-capture, that is his highly specific niche.

So, there's my fan-cast for IWTV season 3. Actors I'd love to see in unspecified roles include: Doug Jones, Alan Cumming, Joey Batey, and Madeleine Hyland. For Reasons.

My dissertation is due in two days and I am just oh so painfully aware that if Venom and Eddie canonically get together in Venom 3 then my entire point about them being covert gay representation will be obsolete. Worth it if I get to see them make out tho

This photo has so much depth to me! Like on the back of what Andy Serkis started and revolutionized for the Planet of the Apes movies is the NEW FACE of the Planet of the Apes Franchise, Owen Teague. 🥺

From watching his interviews he talks about being so immersed with the entire process of becoming an ape and even going on set everyday to train, practice, or be needed for motion capture! The dedication this guy has for his role as Noa deserves so much recognition. Him carrying the new franchise just sits right with me.

Interview with the director Kenjiro Okada. I saved the video for posterity’s sake. So it is easier to archive once this arc is done. But the link for YouTube is available.

“When it comes to Kuroshitsuji, I think the original work has been well-written. Since it’s a work that's based on the original work, I'm most concerned about whether or not it deviates from the nuances of the original work. I am careful about it so that it doesn't end up being a little inferior to the original version.”

“I think the handmade animation is a little more like a photograph than a normal anime, with a lot of things being presented in front of the viewer, and the sound of the (materials).” ( They did some location scouting and took photographs of the buildings, etc.)

“We actually use those photos as layouts, I incorporate the way the actual shots are cut into.. so for example, how do you use blur in this way ?

“I always try to live my life with a certain aesthetic that I think is beautiful, and I always keep that in mind when creating anime.”

Gollum chews his nails.

Why would SméaGollum bite his nails?

1.) Anxiety/stress. It's a repetitive action that helps one to release pent up energy.

2.) Addiction. "Habit-forming drugs (The One Ring) disrupt modulation of neurons linked to flexible behavior. Repetitive movements such as nail-biting and pacing are very often seen in humans and animals under the influence of habit-forming drugs (The One Ring)."

3.) Lack of nutrients. It's not really talked about but I think it should be obvious that those who are starving and/or lacking certain vitamins/minerals would be more prone to biting their nails, in a desperate attempt to get what it is they're lacking.
