I finished NeedleMinderLair’s FF7 Remake cross stitch pattern! It’s about 50k stitches, and I had a great time working on it! :D

A sine wave transformation bookmark, made for @badstitched's charity bookmark project: each variable in the top equation is color-coded to the aspect of the graph that it would affect.

Larger versions of the letter and frog I drew for the Fan Joy July thank you collab. As someone who's recently been getting back into creating for fun by diving headfirst into the Legend of Zelda and Linked Universe scenes, it's been nothing short of inspiring to see so many fans come together and support each others' works this past month. The event @kikker-oma started has introduced me to so many amazing stories and artworks, and encouraged me to share more of my own. Thank you all so much for existing and sharing your creativity with the world, and here's to whatever comes next.

A few years ago, a professor acquaintance asked me to design this pattern for her to stitch and put in her office so I thought I'd finally make it myself. The pattern is free here and there's also a blank version if you wanted to use different flags or flags representing a different issue entirely.

I had mixed feelings stitching this right now, since where is a truly safe space other than the tiny one we might be able to curate for ourselves, if we're lucky. But we can never underestimate how someone seeing their flag, especially a less used one, in an office or public setting, can be a huge comfort. There's also this apt quote from Welcome to Night Vale:

“Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not. We never are. But that’s not the right question. The question is are we living a life that is worth the harm?”

I'm not sure how accessible Flickr is for folks anymore, so I'm also putting the pattern under the cut here and some notes about colors.

These are all DMC colors. Keep in mind that dye lots shift over time and please go by what you hold in your hand (maybe you've got a really old or really new skein of one of these) vs what I've said or what you see in the finished image picture (550 as the main darker purple shows up very purple in person but on my laptop monitor it is SO dark, so don't discount a choice based on your screen). Stitching again I might use 312 for the blue in the bisexual flag instead of 517, though realistically it likely makes little difference.

And yes, not every flag can be put here. There are only so many letters and I really wanted the umbrella rainbow flag to be dominant. I tested how it would look with the progress pride flag, but it didn't look great on the letters and would be redundant. You could always use the blank pattern file to change that and free up another letter for a flag I couldn't include.

If you're altering the pattern keep in mind some flags won't work well with certain letters. For example, the demisexual or demiromantic flags should be stitched on an E or F.

Monstrous Agonies patch :)

I’ve been a fan of Monstrous Agonies (over at @monstrousproductions) for several months now, and wanted to make a patch of the logo. This fantasy podcast is told in the form of the advice segment of the only dedicated UK radio station for the liminal community, and it’s packed full with queer allegories and heartfelt characters (also puns. There are so many puns it’s great).

This is probably the most embroidery I’ve done for a patch (I think at least 6 hours? I split it over two days). I used denim as a backing so the fabric wouldn’t pucker or bunch, and the green material is folded under itself and attached to the main fabric with invisible stitch. I sketched on the pattern before sewing it as well. It’s currently about 4” by 4” (about 10cm by 10cm), which wound up being a pretty good size for all the itty bitty details.

okay so I just got back from the Drawfee live-show (incredible I had such a good time🩵🩵🩵🩵 probably gonna be talking about it for a while)

and I wanted to post pics of my Todd (From Mario) shirt that I made last week because everyone was so nice and seemed to like it :D

this was the shirt straight off the embroidery hoop before I realized that Todd's hat looks a little like a penits and had to fix it lol

finally finished tracing out the skirt embroidery!

there was a lot of adjusting i had to do to this to make it symmetrical and also just... make sense (seriously look at the original skirt for a few seconds and you'll start seeing all the places where its.... weird) but im super happy with my results! im planning on using this (or at least elements of it) on the rest of the costume to tie the thing together!

in the end, i couldnt get the lower flower to come out in a way i liked that also felt cohesive with the rest of the design, so i left it off, but i think its just as good without! you can see my first attempt at it in one of the templates below the cut though, if youre interested!

this was fun! idk if anyone other than me will find use in this, but it was worth it anyway,i learnt a lot about using the path tool in the process of making this & already have some future plans for the things i picked up on.
