Do you want to hear about my coffee routine when I was on the psych unit?

They always gave us a full carton (like a carton…a school lunch carton) of 2% milk on our trays. And I hate milk, hate it- so every day I would throw mine out and that made me feel some kind of bad/guilty. So I started asking for their shitty cup of decaf coffee. I’d sit with the stryofoam cup of hot coffee and the carton of milk in front of me for a fair amount of time, way past when my unit mates went back to their rooms or started walking around just to ease the passage of time (I didn’t really talk to anyone anyways, but I would sit among people…though somewhat removed at a table in the corner on one of those god awful plastic chairs filled with sand so no one could throw it in a rage- I had back pains from those monstrosities for a few days after discharge, by the way). I’d sit there and wait for the black coffee to cool enough so I could guzzle half of it, then add a few packets of sweetener, and then dump all the milk in there. The cup was almost overflowing every time, the precious meniscus jiggling at the edges.

But sitting there with my doctored decaf coffee, the tv on in the day room, watching the cars drive past outside- not knowing how or what I would do when I was discharged…You just do what you can to get by and to alleviate some pain and give your poor little, cortisol-bathed brain some dopamine. And you survive, and the pain becomes another memory and part of the reason you are able to remind yourself that you deserve to be here and you can count on yourself to take care of you. Even in little ways.

love that, in the Odyssey, there's one suitor (Leodes) who very specifically didn’t do anything wrong. he didn’t eat too much food, he didn’t harass the staff, he didn’t plot to kill Telemachus. and when Odysseus starts killing suitors, he begs for mercy because he was always respectful and kind and even tried to stop the other suitors from being like that

and I love that Odysseus was like “you were trying to marry my wife tho” and immediately kills him

I loved your drawing(and I love your style in general) with Leia in your recent post! If/when you have time can we see more of her in your style? I get so happy whenever I actually see people mention/talk about her and she’s not just forgotten because we didn’t get to see much of her. 😭

thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

actually you know what, as long as we're here, I think I WILL go ahead and just make some stuff up about what Silver might've inherited from her instead.

not my usual content ik but I just started to rewatch this show with my brother so here's my Trollhunters main 3 designs

I love the theory of JayMelVik. They could be the ultimate power throuple and man Mel would be so good in there. She's already so supportive of her boytoy's weird codependent thing with his lab partner (tbh she's probably like "I didn't realize this was a package deal but I also did not realize that the boytoy Himbo I wanted to politically manipulate is a needy puppy so... sure") Checking in to see how Viktor is doing in the hexcore goo. "He'll come back to us."

It's all there ok! Season2 showed me the wonder that could be Mel going "This is my boyfriend Jayce and this is Jayce's soulmate, Viktor. Jayce and I make out and Viktor and I are frienemies for reasons that don't have anything to do with Jayce and more to do with Viktor's opinions of politicians."

Unfortunately Season 2 also absolutely torpedoed my ability to see Viktor being ok with this. Holy shit this look he shoots between Mel and Jayce when she interrupts them. Holy shit Viktor

This is the angriest he looks in his entire actual villain arc. This is the most murderous he looks. He looks like he just found his man cheating and he's going "actually maybe I will straight up kill his ass" (Viktor she interrupted because you were literally choking him out what is wrong with you)

I think it even goes deeper than just sexual jealousy. I think that codependent nerd labeled her a homewrecker when she made Jayce a councilor and in doing so committed the heinous crime of having Jayce do things outside of the lab more. She took Jayce's attention. She took Jayce's mental energy off the work. The dream. Their dream. At that point banging Jayce was just the sprinkles on top.

But then when I go "I don't think there was as much sexual/romantic jealousy" I remember this. Viktor...my guy...

And it's so one sided. It's so one sided he's so petty with it. Mel is so supportive! she's already viewing them as a pair of brilliant minds! She figured out quick that Jayce comes as a package deal!!

She comes in to ask how he's doing and help support Jayce. she says "he'll come back to us" and worries about what the hexcore is doing to him. and Viktor's stupid little cocoon tries to bite her!! yeah it's likely a reaction to her own latent arcane ability but my take is funnier

He's so petty!! Uncalled for!!! Viktor please you are killing what could be the baddest hottest power triad in Runeterra!
