The warm buzz of conversation flowed through Rossi’s house, accompanied by the scent of delicious food and the soft glow of the evening lights. Jack, always a bright presence in a crowd, had already charmed most of the team with his stories and excitement about school and superheroes. Hotch, standing off to the side, kept a quiet eye on the interactions, a small but genuine smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he watched his son animatedly talk to Morgan and Garcia about the latest Captain America comic he had read.
The evening had been pleasant so far, though Hotch found his gaze drifting toward the door every so often. His phone buzzed softly in his pocket, a simple message lighting up the screen: On my way. He exhaled slightly, anticipation and something more soothing filling his chest.
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang, and Rossi moved to answer it. When the door opened, the team’s conversation slowed just a bit as you stepped in, your presence immediately shifting the atmosphere. Dressed in casual yet slightly elegant attire, you entered the room with the natural confidence that came from your position, but there was something different in your eyes tonight - something more peaceful, than the drill sergeant the team had previously met.
“Ah, there she is!” Rossi grinned, giving you a warm hug as you stepped into the entryway. “Fashionably late as always, Colonel.”
You chuckled lightly. “Traffic,” you offered as a quick excuse, but your gaze was already scanning the room.
Hotch's eyes met yours from across the room, and the subtle exchange between you didn’t go unnoticed. Though the rest of the team had seen the way you and Hotch interacted at work - professional, with a deep, unspoken respect - this felt different. A deeper connection lingered in the air as Hotch's features softened in a way they rarely did at work. The lines of stress seemed to ease from his face at the mere sight of you.
Jack, noticing your arrival, immediately broke away from his conversation with Morgan and Garcia and ran toward you with all the enthusiasm a young boy his age could muster. “Colonel!” he called, his small arms outstretched.
Your face lit up with warmth as you crouched down, catching Jack in an embrace. “Hey, Jack,” you greeted him softly, ruffling his hair affectionately. “Have you been keeping everyone entertained?”
“Yeah! Uncle Dave made this huge lasagna, and I helped him!” Jack’s excitement was contagious, and you couldn't help but smile.
“Well, then I definitely can’t wait to try it,” you replied, standing up while still holding onto Jack’s hand.
Hotch made his way over to you. “Glad you could make it,” he said, his voice low but filled with a warmth that he reserved for very few people. The subtle anticipation he’d been carrying earlier of the team meeting the real you, seemed to dissipate in your presence.
You smiled up at him, your thumb brushing over Jack’s hand as you held it. “Wouldn’t miss it,” you said, and though your words were casual, the look you shared with him was anything but.
The team, though still engaged in various conversations, couldn’t help but notice the subtle shift between you and Hotch. Morgan arched an eyebrow at Garcia, who gave a knowing smile. Reid’s head tilted slightly in curiosity, but it was JJ who spoke first, her voice quiet enough so the rest of the group wouldn’t hear.
“They’re…different with each other outside of work, aren’t they?”
Emily nodded slightly. “It’s like they’re letting their guard down.”
The team continued to observe, not wanting to intrude but also fascinated by the softer, almost domestic side of their boss. Jack, meanwhile, had tugged you over to sit next to Hotch on the couch, and the three of you created a picturesque image of quiet intimacy. Jack had settled between you and his father, resting his head on your shoulder while Hotch’s hand brushed briefly against yours.
The evening continued, filled with laughter and funny stories. But for Hotch, the highlight had already arrived the moment you’d walked through the door.

I like to imagine that when Timmy first called Wanda mom, it'd been a heat of the moment thing. Like he's super excited about something, whether it's a good grade or a project he's been working on. He's practically vibrating, and instead of going to his actual mom he goes to tell Wanda about it. And of course she listens, smiling softly at his enthusiasm and how contagious it is. And she praises him, proud that he's succeeded at something he's been working hard on. And Timmy he just beams his buck toothed smile and without even thinking says-
"Thanks mom!"
As soon as the words leave his mouth Wanda just freezes, stunned. Pink eyes wide and her heart racing and squeezed so tight with so many emotions. And Timmy bless him, he's oblivious seemingly not realizing what he'd said. But Wanda does, and she doesn't bring it up. Because it's taken Timmy time to open up like that and she doesn't want to ruin his moment by bringing it up. But God it haunts her in the best way.
After that Wanda's constantly thinking about it. Timmy's voice echoing over and over again, calling her mom. Before she can stop herself she's imagining Timmy calling her that all the time. Of her godson calling Cosmo dad, of the three of them being like that instead of the professional relationship they're supposed to have. And Wanda she knows she's not supposed to get attached but she can't help it, with every new thing she learns about Timmy Turner, the more she grows fond of him. Her heart develops that parental warmth that continues to grow stronger and fiercer with each moment. She looks at this boy and thinks about how wonderful he is and how kind he is beneath his usual indifference. And Wanda she'll look at Cosmo and see that same love and affection she feels for Timmy written all over his face. Knowing that just like her, her husband is just as taken with this mischievous little boy as well. But she desperately tries to keep her feelings to herself, because she knows that she and Cosmo can't stay with Timmy forever. Until one day she's forced to accept that she and Cosmo love this child to bits and pieces.
They're at Fairy World when it clicks. She's talking to Blonda about her newest charge. Cosmo's with her, adding things here and there that she's missed about Timmy. And suddenly without thinking about it Wanda says-
"Timmy's a good son, Cosmo and I are incredibly lucky to have him."
And it's suddenly very quiet. Cosmo goes still next to her, green eyes watching her with a stunned and understanding look as it's officially confirmed that she's in the same boat as him. Blonda just stares at Wanda baffled. And Wanda she's just.....unable to really care about what she said and how strange it is to say because it's the truth. She loves Timmy like he's her own son and she's tired of trying to act like she doesn't. And later when her and Cosmo are back at home in their fishbowl castle they talk. And come to accept that they adore this boy more than they should and they don't care. Because he's their brave, sweet son and not even the Fairy Council could change it.

now playing: Don't Tell My Mom
< track 3 || track 5 >
Tumblr media
》 Alexia Putellas x Reader (past), María León x Reader (platonic), Leah Williamson x Reader (platonic)
》 words count: +1.5k
》 what you don't know won't hurt you, oh / Mama, I'll lie, just for you
As soon as your phone lights up with a Facetime call, you know.
No warning message, no text just to make sure you’re free to talk. A cold Facetime request from María, one of your best friends but definitely someone who means trouble if calling like that.
Launching yourself on your sofa unceremoniously, you accept the call and your fate as Mapi’s grin appears on your broken screen. How can she be so smug even miles away goes beyond you.
“Who died?”
Not the most warm way to start a conversation.
“Hola a ti también, nena” (Hello to you too)
“You look awful”
She looks amazing, she’s practically glowing and you’re happy for her.
Also, you’re happy for yourself too. It’s a relief this is not the scolding call you’ve been waiting for quite some time. It’s coming, you can feel it, but Ingrid enters the frame and you immediately know this is good news.
“Tienes que ser buena conmigo” (You should be nicer to me)
Mapi really isn’t the type to tiptoe around something so you don’t get why she didn’t start this conversation by screaming the news. Or making the journey and knocking on your door directly.
You let her be, she probably wants to enjoy it.
“Why should I? I moved to another country just to avoid it”
“Nena”, she pauses and her smile dims for a moment.
She knows English better than she lets everyone believe, so she gets the quip - or your attempt to joke about it. You’re not sure if it’s because of what you said or something else entirely, the two of you have yet to talk about the reason why you’re single and in another country.
Your transfer was eventful, to say at least. The faded blonde didn’t handle it very well, having taken you under her wing when you first moved from a mid-table club in your home country to Barcelona Femení - after a couple of years on a loan in different leagues too.
María’s the one who welcomed you in the locker room with rapid words and contagious enthusiasm. She kept talking with you in Spanish, even if you needed an entire year to be able to hold a simple conversation in your third language, but she’s someone you relied on since the very beginning.
María’s also the first one to realise something was growing between you and Alexia, the first - and the loudest - to cheer when you mindlessly kissed in front of the team mid night out, the first one to give you both a shovel talk.
Sometimes it’s way too easy to forget how many people you can hurt with a decision that’s just your own to make.
You feel the need to take the conversation back on track.
“When is the wedding?”
“¿Quién te lo dijo?!” (Who told you?!)
“Your stupid face”, thankfully the Spaniard gets her brightness back at your words, “And I can see that huge rock even from here!”
Ingrid is matching a beaming smile, moving her hand closer to the camera and you can’t hold back your own joy. They truly deserve the devotion and support they share with one another. If you have to be happy for someone else’s love, you’re glad it’s for them.
And that ring is impressive.
The memory of a beautiful ring hidden in a shoe box in the back of a closet makes you shiver. Is it still there or she got rid of it as first thing after dropping you off at the airport? Does Mapi know about it?
“Show off, that’s worth my value”
“Tonterías!, no eres tan buena” (Bullshit, you’re not even that good!)
“You are, she’s just too proud to admit it”, at Ingrid’s first words you immediately remember why lately she’s the one you like the most of the two.
“Haz la maleta y no quiero excusas, volverás aquí” (Pack you beg and no excuses, you’re coming back here)
Mapi’s witty remark is not missed, she saw you growing up and developing your very own unhealthy coping mechanism. Maybe you have a tendency to avoid confrontation, what about that? She goes for any adrenalin rush activity available when in denial so she’s not in the position to judge.
You shift uncomfortably under their gazes, sitting upright but hitting the back of the sofa with your head.
You may be in a different country and there may be a screen between you and the pair, but María is still like a big sister to you and the other girl is basically the only reason you’re still sane and survived throughout your friendship with the Spaniard.
However, you can’t let them know how broken you are, not when you regret nothing that led to this.
“Why not Norway?”, worth a shot.
“We’re basically going to celebrate in any corner of the world, I don’t think you can miss this”
“Then I can be anywhere else, Ingrid”
“Mapi’s family is gonna be here”, and you’re her family too it’s what she’s too considerate to say aloud but you all hear anyway.
“I don’t think is a good idea, no one want me there”
“That’s not true”
“Nena, por favor!”
The silence is deafening, when you find the gut to look at your friends it’s easy to remember the love, the support, and respect that bond your relationships.
A transfer to another country, all the attempts to hide from the consequences of your own choices, the hearts broken. None of those things are really able to cut those kinds of connections.
“I’m happy for you two”, you say with the biggest and most sincere smile in a while.
Mapi accepts your decision to keep the conversation light, focusing on this happy and long awaited news.
She’s glowing and you really are happy for her, for them. The desire to celebrate their love, to be there when they will share such pure joy with all the people they care about, sweeps away your fears of being confronted by the human form of the consequences of your own choices.
When the call ends, the usual weight you feel between your ribs doesn’t make your breathing heavier and the familiar bitter taste of guilt doesn’t pervade your mouth.
You book a ticket to Barcelona before it all comes back to you.
~
“Mapi and Ingrid are getting married”
“It’s a plague!”
Leah is unlacing her boots, the two of you the last ones in the changing room after an additional training session the blonde insisted you needed.
You’re playing in a slightly different position here, but you feel like those extra hours are more for her sake than your own, scared that you will find a way to avoid your new teammates if not involved in any possible activity.
You indulge her, you’re used to demanding and perfectionist captains after all.
“I have to go back to Barcelona”
“I bet, she’s gonna drag you there personally otherwise”
“María is not that―”
“I’m talking about Engen”, she smirks and she is right, Ingrid is way more effective in her convincing methods.
Still sitting on the bench in your training gear, you let her understand you’re not ready to leave yet. Not the room nor the conversation.
“What’s the problem, trotter?”
She managed to give you the worst nickname possible, making fun both of your way to run on the pitch and the fact you spent the past ten years in five different countries - it’s probably also a quip about the circumstances that bring you here but you give her the benefit of the doubt.
“No problem at all, I’m happy for them”
“They’re really cute”
“They are”, you miss them.
You miss the familiar embrace and the easy banter you share with María, you miss the warm support and the nights out with Ingrid, you miss the silence and the comforting methods Keira always found to take your homesickness away, you miss the funny and the cheerful attitude you wrap yourself around with Jana, Claudia and Ona. You miss them all.
You miss Alexia.
You miss how she always finds time to walk her dog out, doesn’t matter the weather or her busy schedule. You miss the subtle way she turns the radio’ volume up when a song she knows you like is on, and the not-so-subtle way she pretends to hate them all just to sing with you on the first chorus. You miss her body fitting perfectly all over your life, when moving in your house like it’s built around her, or when she’s ideally positioned on the pitch to receive your pass, or even when her hands find yours despite everything and everywhere you are.
You miss Alexia but you don’t deserve to grieve something you killed yourself.
“Do you need a pep talk from Kim?”
“Don’t you dare!”
Last time Leah called on your team captain to put up with your somber mood, you ended on the bench for two games yet sent her a nice bouquet as an apology - and as a thanks for the help.
“Look, you can’t hide from her forever”
“I can definitely try”
The smile she directs to you is both amused and bushed.
“I just don’t think our closest friend’s wedding is the best occasion to meet her for the first time after… well, after everything”, you admit while repeatedly hitting the changing room’s wall with the back of your head.
“Maybe not, maybe we will have to face them in the next Champion League’s draw”
She jinxed it.

Note
The batfam as teacher comment section in report card.
Dick: Mr. Grayson brings a contagious energy to the class and his enthusiasm is well-appreciated. However, he tends to channel that energy very physically and while that may benefit his learning, it's a disruption to other students. This is a frequently recurring issue that I would like to discuss with a parent or guardian.
Translation – Is this kid ADHD because he won't sit the FUCK down
Jason: Mr. Todd has displayed remarkable attention to detail and a love of literature that I can only attribute to positive reinforcement at home, and he's always a pleasure to have in class. As much as I appreciate seeing him apply his lessons outside of school hours, I believe there are more productive avenues of discussing Shakespearean playwriting with his peers than what he has been reportedly doing.
Translation – Stop biting your thumb at people
Tim: Mr. Drake continues to exceed expectations in his schoolwork, but his attendance and participation may become a detriment to his overall grades if unaddressed. I have caught him sleeping in class on multiple occasions but he has yet to provide me a reason why he is so tired. Additionally, last month one of our monitors caught him loitering in the bathroom with a note that I did not recall writing.
Translation – Get some sleep and also you can't make your own hall passes
Damian: I have had the privilege of teaching the Wayne family through my decades at this institution and I believe that Damian takes after his father the most in more ways than expected. His grades are stellar and he is well-organized, but I'm noticing familiar and concerning traits in his attitude and social interactions. I am requesting a meeting with his parent to understand the full context so I can devise a plan for out how to best support him.
Translation – Forget falling, the apple is still on the damn tree
Duke: Mr. Thomas has been a pleasure to have in my chemistry lab and is always willing to help classmates who are struggling. However, after last week's minor combustion reaction mishap, I think it would be worthwhile to review the lab safety packet that all students received at the beginning of the year.
Translation – How did you set water on fire
Cullen: Mr. Row displays a passion for transformative literature and demonstrates a clear understanding of modern media culture that has helped him synthesize a lot of our complex readings. However, I'm concerned about his laptop being a distraction, especially with numerous incidences of him looking at non-academic material.
Translation – Quit reading fanfics in class
Stephanie: You should be pleased to know that Miss Brown consistently keeps the well-being of her peers in mind. This semester, she launched a meal initiative for students whose needs could not be met by the school cafeteria. While we value her good intentions, she has been causing hallway obstructions and there are some regulatory concerns that we need to discuss.
Translation – She sold pancakes in the halls without a permit
Cassandra: Although Miss Cain is relatively quiet in class, she continues to blow me away with her breadth of knowledge not just on class materials, but also interpersonal details. While this is a good skill to cultivate, we ask that she dial it back especially with our faculty. Additionally, please remember that the teacher's lounge is a staff-only space and students should remain in the common areas.
Translation – She knows too much
Barbara: Miss Gordon is easily one of the best AP Computer Science students I've seen in my twenty years of teaching. She even went above and beyond the scope of our class to apply what we've learned to a greater school context. While that is deserving of credit, I'd also like to remind her that, in the future, certain ideas should be subjected to careful consideration before actions are taken.
Translation – She hacked the lunch menu to make every day French Fry Friday
Harper: Miss Row has a remarkable aptitude for the engineering process that exceeds beyond what students her age can typically grasp, and she is very inventive in her own right. That being said, I would appreciate it if she followed our lesson plans more closely and reviewed our guidelines for woodshop safety so everyone can continue to have a positive experience.
Translation – She made a working crossbow out of popsicle sticks
Carrie: Miss Kelley is a bright student who brings positive energy that is very much needed, especially in morning classes. However, she's been falling behind with several missing assignments at this point, and her explanations for why she cannot finish her work don't seem to be sufficient.
Translation – "Killer Croc ate my homework" Yeah and I'm Batman
Kate: Miss Kane seems to be very eager to move forward to the next stage of her life, as evidenced by her Career Day presentation. While I believe young people should be free to explore their passions, I also think that Kate would benefit from some workshops outlining more feasible options.
Translation – "Get bitches" isn't a career goal
Alfred: Mr. Pennyworth is easily one of the best students this institution has seen, both in his academic record and extracurricular activities. He recently expressed interest in the sharpshooting team, which I will not discourage him from, seeing how highly accurate he is. As of this year, I will be retiring as the coach for the team, but I wish him all the best.
Translation – I'm not about to get on his bad side
Selina: Miss Kyle's resourcefulness continues to astound me. Earlier in the semester, she forgot her locker combination and quickly improvised a mechanism to safely unlock it using only the materials around her. The speed and accuracy with which she did that will surely benefit her in the future.
Translation – Did... did she just pick a lock with another lock?
Bruce: No further comments.

THREE’S A CROWD ┊ TODOROKI SHOUTO

As he grows older Shouto sometimes regrets picking his given name for heroics.
Call it adolescent laziness, but when he was a teenager it felt like rebellion; carelessly giving away that part of himself just to hear how different it sounded in other people's mouths. If repeated enough he thought the tragic lacquer might chip away piece by piece until his name was anew and no longer an echo of his fathers voice.
But now his bones ache and his work follows him absolutely everywhere. The hours he spends at the agency and at home bleed together, diluted into a single muddied memory. Officially adopting the moniker ‘Icyhot’ has never been so tempting. It would be nice to actually have skin to shed.
These instances of regret are infrequent, though. It may be jarring to have strangers call out to him so casually but he counts it as adequate payoff for his name making a home in your mouth. Who knew a sound could feel like an embrace?
“Shouto!”
When it’s you, hearing his name can only be a good thing. Usually.
He’s helpless to the small smile pulling at his lips as your contagious enthusiasm filters into the otherwise dim room like sunlight. You appear in the doorway to his office, remaining half hidden behind the frame, arms held behind your back and wearing an excited grin of your own.
Having you on the PR team has done wonders for his image, apparently. Employees loved throwing around puns about his cold demeanor being ‘thawed’. Shouto was never intentionally aloof, but he was perceived that way all the same.
When you don’t immediately flounce into his office to bother him he grows suspicious. “What is it?”
Shifting your weight between each foot restlessly, his eyes fall to the soft bottom lip caught between your teeth. You inhale deeply as if bracing for impact before stepping forward, bringing your arms out from behind your back.
And now cradled against your front is… him?
The plushie is atrocious. Two large desolate eyes stare back at him from beneath a bi-coloured felt fringe. Not only is it wearing a tiny version of the UA uniform, there is a pair of pointed cat ears on top of its head—one white and one red. Atleast the scar is on the correct side.
Amidst his judgment you have closed the distance, standing in front of his desk, squeezing the thing tight to your stomach. Shouto swallows down his immediate displeasure and feels ridiculous for it.
Voice tempered, he prompts, “A plush toy?”
Your shoulders relax, thumb rubbing back and forth over the soft fabric in slow, idle motions, “Yes—well, he’s actually a knock off. Technically I shouldn’t have bought it, but I couldn’t resist!”
“It’s ugly”.
“Don’t say that! Just look at him,” brought to your face, squashed up against your cheek, the toy seems to mock him. You laugh warmly, “Isn’t he cute? His head is so big”.
Shouto quickly delegates his attention to the report on his computer screen and begins to highlight random words to distract from the urge to pout. There’s a twisted petulance bubbling in his chest, at odds with the pitter patter of his heart. Ugly as it was, the plush still had his likeness, and you’d called it cute.
“What exactly did you buy it for?”
You shy away from the question slightly with a sudden air of embarrassment, gaze flickering toward his tall office windows to avoid his eyes.
“Well I…” there’s the quiet clearing of your throat, and then stronger, “I thought he would be a fun mascot for the agency. Your supporters would love seeing him in the background of your posts. It might be fun!”
Shouto was no stranger to social media. While he preferred to leave it up to your team and his manager it was a good occasional cure for boredom. Though the concept of having fans is still somewhat foreign to him, his supporters are amusing and vocal in their love; your suggestion is innocent compared to some of the things they’ve sent him. But he can’t disagree—they would have a field day.
There is a pregnant pause before he speaks and it sets you on edge. A pout to your lips, fingers guided to the small UA tie around his counterpart's neck, fiddling with the knot. You’re still avoiding his gaze, giving ample opportunity for him to glare at the toy, who only stares back with empty eyes.
“If Abe-san gives it the okay then I don’t see any harm in it,” he says. Your disposition sparks back to life, hiding your pleased smile behind the oversized head. Football shaped, he thinks blithely. He wants to kick it across Tokyo. And then he wants you to cradle his face instead.
“Thank you Shouto,” you murmur. Unable to see your mouth, the smile is still bright in your eyes. Steeped in honey-thick affection, Shouto resigns himself to fate. Saying no to you was never his strong suit.
He can only hope it’ll be a passing fad.
Those hopes are immediately quashed the following morning. His personal phone pings with a group chat notification on his way to work. Kaminari has sent a link to a twitter poll, along with a series of laughing emojis. Listed are various cat related versions of his name, each battling for the most votes.
Todoneko. Todopurrki. Shoucat? He huffs a quiet laugh. Nekoroki and Catoroki seemed neck and neck, barely a few percentages apart.
Notifications continue to flood in at the top of his screen. He ignores them in favour of clicking onto the profile. Sitting smug in the account’s picture is the plush of him. The image is a close up, taken from below, a purposefully unflattering angle to show the feline ears on it’s head.
It’s clear the page is new. Created today, if he had to guess. The bio reads: ‘employee of the month at Frostfire Agency’ and not much else. There is only one post— a picture taken today in a very familiar place.

[IMAGE ID: Pro Hero Dynamight angrily baring his teeth at the camera, skin flushed pink and hair pressed damp to his forehead. The Todoroki plush stands precariously on one of many benches in the agency gym behind him, a trademarked red and blue Shouto sweatband stretched over it’s head, school blazer discarded by the weights].

Shouto snorts and presses the like button. A cute burst of confetti flits around the heart symbol as he imagines you surreptitiously trying to set up the thing behind a volatile pre-workout Bakugo without being chased out of the gym.
He decides against replying. Abe-san has yet to tell him about it and he’d rather not incur his managers wrath so early in the day.
The agency is abuzz upon his arrival. Not outwardly, though. A hushed cacophony of tittering and whispers. The sidekicks greet him as usual as he walks through the main control room towards his office, poorly feigning normalcy. It’s as though the entire agency has gathered; an acting audience to whatever stunt awaits him.
Shouto refuses the urge to bristle. Memories of not quite grasping the interactions around him in those earlier years can sometimes unearth feelings of defensiveness. They mean well. Most people do.
Finding the source of their collective amusement comes sooner rather than later. You haven’t noticed him yet, the roles now reversed. Shouto stands in the doorway, having stepped back to silently watch you work while your guard is down. You’re crouched by his office chair, tongue tucked into the corner of your mouth in concentration, adjusting something currently obstructed from view by his desk.
Shouto never truly learned his own personal touch—he always fell back on tradition. Those habits are reflected around you. The space hadn’t changed much since his predecessor retired; not until you came along. You have the uncanny ability to imbue life wherever you go. Now there were fresh flowers to be replaced every other week. What was once a display case for awards to collect dust in now held digital picture frames. Things nobody would think twice about. There’s even a napkin folded into the shape of a swan that he stole from a gala the night he won the Hero Trailblazer award.
“This is supposed to be your home away from home,” you told him. “You work hard, Shouto! Harder than anyone I know. Allow yourself a little comfort. This place is too…?”
And then you had made a broad, vague gesture with your hands, struggling to find the words, hoping he would fill in the blanks. That was the first time you made Shouto laugh, and the initial push that tipped his heart over the crest, starting an inexorable roll into the unknown. He has yet to find out if you’d be waiting at the bottom.
Your satisfied hum breaks the delicate quiet. The sound makes him smile. Trinkets aside, a room was brighter with you in it.
Lifting his hand, his knuckles rap gently against his open door. You startle, reflexively ducking forward to hide, then peering over the top of his desk. Your eyes meet and he lifts a brow.
“What are you doing?”
Four strides, maybe three. That is all the distance between you and him. Shouto wants to reach down and kiss away that false wide eyed innocence. Part of him wondered if you were aware of it—the profound cord you struck within him. Your fingers always seemed to find it.
“Nothing,” you rise to your feet with phone in hand, you brush off the non existent dirt from your knees and straighten the creases in your shirt. Noticing his deadpan stare, you breathlessly insist, “I wasn’t doing anything weird—this is for work!”
Shouto ducks his chin as he snorts, outgrown bangs slipping forward from behind his ears over his eyes; at an awkward length that never seems to do as he tells it to. “I’m not sure that’s entirely…” he moves to the centre of the room, voice losing strength when he sees his chair. “…True”
Todoroki Shouto doesn’t pout.
“See?” you cross your arms over your chest, looking gratified with his hesitance. “Catoroki is work related. I took a photo for his next post”.
The ugly plush toy is sitting in his seat. Gone is the sweatband and the UA uniform. In the short time between last night and now, you’ve managed to find a doll sized version of his hero costume. You’ve sat it upright on a small cushion facing his computer and placed a pen and an empty pad of paper in it’s lap to make it look as though it is working.
Upon closer inspection, he realises that you’ve even thought to include tiny versions of the first aid equipment hung on his belt.
“Catoroki?” he repeats.
Nodding, you bend to pat it between the ears. “That or ‘Nekoroki’. We aren’t sure which name will win yet. Did you see the poll?”
“My phone hasn’t stopped vibrating since I got here,” Shouto answers, stuck on the gentle stroke of your hand to Catoroki’s grotesque head.
“Oh shit, sorry. Should’ve called before I posted it. I forgot you don’t read your emails in the morning,” you puff up your cheeks apologetically. It’s sweet when you’re sheepish. The pull is a little too strong and he finds himself on the other side of his desk, close enough to poke the swell. Air pushes through puckered lips as it deflates.
“Doesn’t matter,” unable to resist, he subtly activates his ice, breathing a chill into the air, coaxing you into his warm touch for a minute longer than is appropriate. “You were right though. People seemed to like it”.
“Do you?”
“Hm?”
Shouto frowns when you turn away to pick the plush up from his chair. The beady eyes laugh at him from the comfortable spot on your chest. You hold it to him as if it were a baby, asking with playful cadence, “Do you like him?”
Like him?
His nose wrinkles. You don’t seem to appreciate that Shouto is a restrained person. If he weren’t, that plush would have been acquainted with the Earth’s atmosphere the very first time you kissed its ugly velveteen hair.
What is he supposed to say here—‘I don’t like him. Apparently I’m jealous of a stuffed toy’?
He drags his discontentment from Catoroki back to your face and feels his heart seize. The corners of your mouth are slightly downturned, plush bottom lip held between teeth, laughter gleaming in your eyes. Your expression is indelibly fond.
Your finger pokes at his chest, firm and accusing. It restarts his heart, which only seems to quicken. “I knew it”.
Playing dumb is a skill Shouto has refined since early adolescence—
He blinks and intones monotonously, “Knew what?”
—but this is you; who sees through every facade and hears every note. You know him better than most, more than you realise. With you he feels gossamer thin, light like a hollow marrowed bird. It’s equal parts frightening and comforting.
So when you grin at him and say, “You’re jealous of Catoroki, aren’t you?” the panic dwindles into gentle sea foam hemming his ribs.
Heat crawls up his neck and into his cheeks, the innate prickling of his quirk rising to the surface as his emotions swell. “No,” he lies, unconvincingly. It’s about the principle of it.
“Ah,” you walk your fingers up his sternum with a disappointed hum. “That’s too bad then”.
You have never touched him this casually before, with such intent. The air around you distorts. Shouto exhales a breath of steam and spine tingling laughter spills from your lips. Drawn to the sound, his movement pushes you back against his desk, and you lean on the edge with your legs parted to allow him closer. His eyes are wide, he’s sure. Caught between awe and disbelief, his hand resting on your hip like a bird on a wire, ready to flee if need.
“Shouto. Please,” you murmur, and it feels incipient. It feels like you’re at the bottom of a steep drop waiting to catch him. Your nose bumps his cheek, nuzzling at the old scar tissue there, breathing in each other in a moment of eager suspension.
He swallows. “Was that a ‘hurry up, please’ or a ‘go away, please’?”
A warm breath of laughter ghosts his lips. And for all his dithering, you are the one to kiss him. Cautious at first. He can taste your toothpaste, and it reminds him that the day has barely started. He presses firmer. Closer. Smooths over your waist as your fingers thread into the hair at his nape, enamoured by how soft you feel. Shouto shivers, dissolves like spun sugar, parting the seam of his lips to gently lick into your mouth, kept tethered by the too-corporeal cotton lump lodged between your bodies.
“I lied,” he rasps desperately as you pull away all too soon, like he hoped admitting it would bring you back. You meet his eyes, pupils dilating in the yawning sunlight as it stretches across his office. “I was jealous”.
“Yeah, I know,” you kiss his lips again, once, with some finality; it’s all teeth, both of you unable to keep from smiling.
“You were obvious”.

it's my 1 year anniversary of this account. i figured we'd celebrate it together with the story that started it all <3
Tumblr media
“jihae!” you shouted as you stepped quickly down the stairs, sighing as your daughter already reached the bottom way before you. the smaller girl’s uniform was neatly pressed, and her hair was adorned with two small barrettes on the sides.
the five year old made a sharp left down the nearby hallway while her giggles echoed off the walls along with the sounds of her small feet. “yu jihae!” you repeated, following the girl with more speed with a pair of black shoes in one hand and a can of hairspray in the other.
however, right when you turned the corner and looked down the hallway you saw your daughter hiding behind your wife who had half her body through the front door.
“where are your shoes?” jimin chuckled as she gently picked up jihae in her arms, brushing a few strands of her midnight hair back into place. the younger girl buried her face into her mother’s neck, ignoring the head shake of disapproval from you as you approached the two.
“she’s so stubborn,” you mumbled as jimin leaned over to quickly kiss your cheek.
“well, she learned it from you.” the former idol whispered with a smirk before gently nudging her daughter with her shoulder. “isn’t that right, sweetheart?”
jihae peeked out from her hiding spot and grinned mischievously, making you playfully roll your eyes. there was no doubt in your mind that this was your daughter. jimin chuckled, setting jihae down as she grabbed the black shoes from your hand.
“come on, jihae, let's get these shoes on so we can go,” the raven haired woman said, kneeling down to help her daughter with the task. jihae giggled, clearly enjoying the attention from both her parents. as jimin fastened the tiny shoes, you couldn't help but admire the scene with a soft smile.
you had seen jimin in many different roles. girlfriend, trainee, idol, leader, model, and even as a wife. but to see yu jimin as a mother was definitely your favorite role.
once jihae's shoes were secured, jimin stood up, holding out her hand for jihae to take. “alright, my little princess, are you ready for a good day?” jimin asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. jihae nodded vigorously, her enthusiasm contagious as she skipped to the car with her mother in tow.
the former idol shot you a small smile before following jihae towards the door. as you settled into the car, jimin handed your daughter a small, heart-shaped box.
“for you, my little valentine,” she said, watching as the small girl’s eyes widened in delight as she opened it to find a small necklace with a heart pendant. your daughter’s squeal in excitement brought a smile to both of your faces as you watched jimin pull out of the driveway.
“do you like it?” jimin asked as she glanced in the rearview mirror quickly, both hands on the wheel. jihae nodded rapidly in response before your wife added another comment.
“your mama will put it on for you.”
you playfully glared at jimin for a moment, already knowing that jimin knows very well what happens when you try to put anything on your young daughter.
jimin chuckled, catching your playful glare. “oh, come on, it's just a necklace,” she teased, glancing at you with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
the car ride to jihae's school was filled with jimin and jihae’s daily “i spy” game. occasionally, you participated. but you only ever did when jihae said so, because those were the rules according to your daughter herself.
the joyous atmosphere was infectious, and by the time you reached the school, everyone was in high spirits. you gently fastened the necklace around the small girl’s neck before giving her forehead a small kiss. as your daughter excitedly hopped out of the car, jimin leaned over to give her a quick kiss. “have a great day, my little valentine,” she cooed, making jihae giggle before running off to join her friends.
once jihae disappeared into the crowd of her peers, jimin turned to you with a sly smirk. “now, time for your gift,” she whispered as she gently interlaced her fingers with yours.
you raised an eyebrow with a teasing smile. “was last night not my gift?” you teased, watching your wife’s face flush with a small shade of red as she smiled and started driving.
“very dirty of you, darling.” she chuckled before shaking her head lightly. “but no, you have more than one gift.”
her mysterious smile only deepened as she navigated through the city streets, her thumb gently tracing circles on the back of your hand. the anticipation grew with each passing minute, and as you continued, a subtle realization began to dawn on you.
the familiar sights of the cityscape, the turns, and twists in the road—it all started to make sense.
your heart skipped a beat as you began to connect the dots, and you couldn't help but shoot your lover a curious glance.
“are you taking us to our tree?” you asked, an excited grin spreading across your face as you gently shook your intertwined hands. the other woman’s eyes widened for a moment, and then she hummed in feigned thought.
“oh, is that where we’re going?” she mused with a smirk as she parked the car into a nearby side street.
you chuckled, recognizing the playful tone in jimin's response. “yu jimin, you know exactly where we're going,” you teased, your eyes filled with a mixture of excitement and affection.
she gave you a knowing look, her midnight hues sparkling with mischief. “well, it's our special place, isn't it?” she replied, stepping out of the car and motioning for you to follow.
the morning air was cool, and the soft glow of the morning sun set a romantic ambiance around you both. hand in hand, you walked up the path toward the familiar oak tree, noticing its branches adorned with delicate lights that reflected in jimin's eyes.
but as you got closer, you noticed there were photos attached to a small string and hanging off each of the branches. they were all of you two over the years. you spotted your wedding photos, the photos of you soaked in the ocean from the proposal, and even the day jihae was born and you two were holding her.
there was a blanket spread beneath the tree, surrounded by rose petals that danced in the gentle breeze.
“i wanted to spend today here,” she confessed, pulling you into a tender embrace. “underneath this tree, where we first realized what we meant to each other.” jimin gently rested her chin atop your head while the other hands rubbed circles on your waist.
“we haven’t been here in forever,” you whispered, earning a nod of agreement from your wife. her fingers traced patterns on your back as she spoke.
“i know. but i wanted to remind us of where it all started, and to see how far we’ve come.”
as you both settled onto the blanket surrounded by the pictures of your journey, the ambiance became even more enchanting. the sun rising in the distance, and the muffled sounds of seoul waking up for the day added a nostalgic touch to the atmosphere.
“do you remember this day?” jimin asked, pointing at a picture from your first valentine’s day together. it was a photo ningning had taken of the two of you. the shaky image (due to ning’s laughing) captured the deep red shade of your lover’s face as you kissed her cheek as she held the small bouquet of flowers in between the two of you.
you smiled, your heart swelling with love. "of course, how could i forget?" jimin leaned in, capturing your lips in a gentle kiss. “you just stood there and stuttered for a few seconds–”
jimin groaned before silencing you with another quick kiss that lasted a little longer than the first. she chuckled against your lips, the sound vibrating with affection.
“let's not relive my embarrassing moments,” she teased, pulling back with a playful glint in her eyes. “but i was a nervous wreck because i wanted everything to be perfect for our first valentine's day together.” she reasoned as she brushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
you both shared a small smile, the memories of that day vivid in your minds. “and look at you now,” you murmured, gazing into the same midnight eyes from your trainee days. “with a family and everything.”
as you soaked in the moment, jimin reached into her back pocket, revealing a white envelope. “i have one more surprise for you,” she whispered, her eyes dancing with excitement. curiosity flickered in your gaze as she handed it to you. opening it, you found a folded piece of paper with a lot of writing on it. it looked like something out of a lawyer’s office, but your vision focused on one highlighted sentence at the bottom.
property owners – yu jimin & yu y/n
“what is this for?” you whispered with confusion, looking up at your wife who only gave you the brightest smile.
“we own our spot now. officially.”
your eyes widened as the significance of the words sank in. you looked back down at the paper, scanning the details and realizing the gravity of the gift. a wave of emotion swept over you, and you felt your heart swell with love and gratitude.
“we own it?” you repeated, your voice filled with a mix of surprise and pure joy. the other woman nodded, her eyes reflecting the love she felt for both you and the place that held the echoes of your shared history.
“it's ours, officially. i did the months of paperwork and everything.” she confirmed, warmth in her smile as she brought your free hand to her lips for a kiss.
“i wanted to make sure our special place remained ours, a part of our story that we can pass down to jihae and beyond. it's a promise, to keep our love and the memories we've created under this oak tree.”
tears of happiness welled up in your eyes as you pulled your wife into a tight embrace. the significance of the gesture, and the permanence it added to your story, was overwhelming.
“thank you, baby,” you whispered, your voice choked with emotion. she held you close, brushing away a tear with her thumb. “no need to thank me, sunshine. it's our forever spot now.”
a comfortable silence passed as the two of you stayed like that, holding each other close and enjoying the ambience of your spot. the wind rustling the orange leaves, the muffled sounds of the city below, and the sound of each other’s heartbeats against your chests.
“i want to bring jihae here after school so she can put her initials under ours.”
jimin broke the silence with a small whisper as she kissed the side of your cheek. a warm smile graced your lips at jimin's words. the idea of jihae leaving her mark under yours and jimin's initials felt like the perfect continuation of your love story.
“that sounds wonderful,” you replied, your heart swelling with the idea of creating more memories, this time with your daughter. as the sun rose higher in the sky, your wife leaned back slightly, her eyes locked with yours.
“i’m so glad i have you,” she murmured, her thumb gently caressing your cheek. “and we can spend every valentine’s day together. forever.”
the sincerity in her gaze touched your soul, and you felt a surge of gratitude for the life you'd built together. “you make every valentine’s day special, baby.” you whispered, staring directly into her midnight hues.
“i love you, my valentine.” she whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. you could only cup her face and lean in to kiss her lips, but pausing just before your mouth could meet hers.
“you’re my forever valentine, yu jimin.”
and all jimin could do was smile, and kiss you harder than the first time she ever did.

you and jimin met as trainees before she debuted, and you two never felt more in love. however, once she breaks up with you before her debut, you completely leave SM entertainment under the notion of needing a fresh start. you eventually debuted a few years later in le sserafim, where you met huh yunjin and have slowly started developing feelings for the idol. much to karina's dismay, she hates to see you have moved on, but deep in your own heart, you still can't help but feel as if maybe she has forgotten about you.

Common Interests
Gale x gn Tav / Reader
Fandom: Baldur’s Gate 3
Rating: T
Word count: 1.3 k
CW: Dyslexia, vague mentions of past trauma
Summary: Your crush is well-read and you want to be close to him by picking up a book. It would be a good strategy if reading wasn't so hard.
Or
Dyslexic gn Tav/Reader wants to impress Gale
A/N: inspired by this post
You were so concentrated on the task at hand that you didn’t notice the footsteps behind. You had found a nice secluded spot a bit away from the camp and settled on a fallen tree to continue your reading as you had done for the past few days.
“What are you doing?”
The question carried a smile, but you jerked, and the book slipped out of your hands. Gale snatched it out of the air, and you grasped at nothing.
“Hmm … an interesting read you have here. I would recommend following up with Sara Ibb’s take on the topic. They give a more balanced view.”
You felt your face burn and prayed to the gods that Gale was too distracted by your choice of book (you had found it in the cellar of an abandoned house) to notice.
He rattled on about the nuances of using weave grass in potions, and you could not help but let the corners of your mouth creep upwards. Gale’s enthusiasm made your insides feel all warm and soft.
“Oh, I totally lost you in the barrage of words. I …” Gale laughed nervously. “How did you like the book?”
“It was good.” you said a bit too quickly.
His eyes narrowed slightly, and he looked at you suddenly intrigued, as if you were a puzzle to be solved.
“Come, my friend, what did you really think?”
You panicked. What would be an acceptable thing to say? Your heart beat faster, and you were stuck between wanting to flee and not being able to so without making a bad impression.
The seconds dragged on, but no words left your mouth. Gale watched your silent struggle for another heartbeat before sitting down next to you and waited.
"It’s hard to read." you said finally. Gale’s brows furrowed and you stammered an explanation. "I can understand it, I can read, but it’s so difficult to read.
"Why?" Gale asked softly. The ball of anxiety and embarrassment was melted away by his warm presence. You had been so caught up in your own head that you had forgotten how save Gale made you feel, like you could tell him everything.
"I’m not sure how to explain it." you paused to think. "It’s like the letters come in and out of focus, like they move around on the page if I don’t give it all my attention."
Gale nodded slowly in the corner of your eye, but you couldn’t look at him. You had never told anyone about this and if you were honest, your school days and the embarrassment that was your inadequate reading skills were still hanging in the back of your mind.
"I hope you don’t think me rude, but why are you reading that if it’s hard for you? I remember you saying you are not big on books."
Now he had hit the target, the big question.
"Which is understandable for someone with your condition."
"My condition?"
"Dyslexia, from the sound of it."
"Is it fatal?"
Gale laughed, and his eyes sparkled with amusement.
"No, and it’s not contagious either." He smiled at you, the sweetest thing you had seen in a while.
"As far as we know, it stems from individual difference in how the brain works and has nothing to do with intelligence or lack thereof. People with it have problems reading or writing, in various degrees of severely. It’s pretty common, but before when reading was a skill not many were allowed to learn, we didn’t notice that about 1 in 10 people has problems with it. You should have seen Val, their writing was atrocious but a very fine wizard indeed." He smiled wistfully. "You have nothing to worry about."
You looked at the book in your hands in a new light. Since your school days, you had struggled, but now at least you had a name for the trouble you had.
"Thank you, Gale."
Your eyes met, and your heart skipped a beat. He looked stunning just sitting next to you, and a warm wave of affection rolled over you. You opened your mouth to say something when Gale leaned over. For a moment, you thought he would kiss you, but he reached out and took the book.
"Do you want me to read it to you? Or maybe something else? I have a collection at my tent." He gave you a bright smile while you still recovered.
Snap out of it, you told yourself, you’re acting like a love sick puppy.
"Choose whatever sounds interesting."
"You want to read to me?" you said when your brain had caught up.
"Yes, I do enjoy the sound of my own voice, and you seek knowledge."
Gale was someone who talked a lot, but you would be lying if you said you did not like that about him. It was his openness that drew you in, in the first place.
He studied your face and added: "That’s very attractive."
A twig snapped behind you and both, you and Gale jumped.
"There you are!" Karlach appeared with a leaf in her hair that was sizzling.
"Food is almost ready, let’s get back before we eat everything without you."
Shadowheart was not a chef cook by any means, but she and Wyll had a good tag team on the hearth. You ate with gusto, and forgot all about your conversation with Gale.
After dinner, he came over and said:
"My offer still stands. If you'd like, you can come over at any time."
"Now?"
"Sure, come." He held out his hand to help you stand up from the log you were sitting on, and you took it.
Gale had not been lying about the collection he had.
"You carry all this in your bag?!"
"Not technically, I have this pocket dimension…"
"Wizard stuff."
He laughed.
"Yes, Wizard stuff."
You found a book that sounded interesting and handed it to him.
"Ah, yes, I could have known this one would pique your interest."
Gale sat down on his bedroll, and you sat next to him.
"Strap in, you will love this. Such a good read."
————————-
When you opened your eyes, you panicked, not knowing where you were and why you felt so warm. This was not your tent, and you lay under a blanked with a warm body pressed to you, an arm holding you in place. The memory of last night came back to you. Gale reading to you, and you were slowly shifting from a sitting position to lying down on his bedroll. At some point, you must have drifted off to a dreamless sleep, the first one since your infection.
Gale stirred, nuzzling your neck sleepily before freezing.
"Oh, I’m sorry." he said and began to pull back, but you caught his hand as it retreated.
"Don’t." You pull his hand back into the position it was, you tight in his arm and his body pressed against your back. "It’s nice. Let’s stay a bit longer."
He said your name, and you looked over your shoulder. His hair was in disarray, but it made him even more endearing, not less.
"Why did you start reading books?"
He had asked the question that you had not answered the day before, and it seemed he already knew the answer.
"There is this person I like, they are really smart, and I wanted to be closer to them. To him."
Gale shifted until you were on your back, facing him. You noticed the little wrinkles the pillow had made on his face but also the fullness of his lips. His eyes studied your face and got caught by your lips.
You reached out and ran your fingers from his temple down the side of his face through his soft beard. Your hand on his chin, you nudged him to lean in, and he followed your request.

What I think your Hazbin Hotel fav says about you
Pt. I ; Charlie, Vaggie, Alastor, Lucifer, Angel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: these are entirely my opinions based on what each of the characters have meant for me. i’m a psych major and like doing lil analysis of things so it’s for funsis nothing else XD and i’m writing these with adult personalities in mind ! just fyi
it’s kinda long, fair warning, lots of text.

ᯓ፥Charlie ꪆ
Starting off with the MC herself; I can see her being a fav bc you are the sunshine coded individual that likes to do things diplomatically first, handles situations with words first and foremost as well as enthusiasm and optimism. You’ll always see the bright side of things and like to see the good in people.
So probably relate a lot to her.
You have a tendency to put others way above yourself and your own needs, most of the time unconsciously so.
Maybe you’re the mom-friend of the group. You’re the most caring and giving out of your surrounding friends or family.
Which kinda makes me think you may have a mix of daddy and mommy issues.
However sometimes your kindness is taken for weakness and naivety when that couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re not unaware of the world around you, in fact you’re probably someone who understands a little too good, so you choose to give positivity to the sea of negativity.
You’re highly emotionally intelligent, mature and likely find yourself always taking the reign in things. You’re a doer, determined to see everything you put your mind to to completion, lots of initiative in many aspects.
A WORKAHOLIC. Completely unaware of that aspect tho. Or just unintentionally so. Bc you are so determine on projects you give 120% and don’t stop until it’s completed.
You probably find comfort in her character in some ways; either bc you see yourself in her or strive to find a person like her who will see your redeeming qualities when you can’t, and want to help you grow as a person.
You aren’t a strict planner or someone who sticks 100% with a plan but do like to have an outline at least. Even if you have to improv further down the line at least you have an idea of wtf you’re doing.
So you can also roll with being spontaneous, you can easily think of a loose path to follow and roll with it whenever.
You’re very enjoyable company !! Smile and laugh is contagious, it’s impossible to not feel good around you.
ᯓ፥Vaggie ꪆ
You struggle a lot with imposter’s syndrome so let me be the one to tell you; you deserve good things, you belong in good places and with the people you love and love you back.
You’re likely the person everyone turns to for a voice of reason.
You’re very headstrong, you’re the decision maker in whatever circle you run.
Ms./Mr./Mx. Hyper-Independent™️
You’re likely also the mediator. Are you the middle child in your family?
You’re a perfectionist to a fault, and fear failure. Sometimes you need a little reassurance.
However, you’re an exceptional lover. You’re loyal, attentive, your love language might be acts of service and/or words of affirmation.
You greatly value those around you and just want to help them be successful.
Sometimes you’re too strict with yourself, even with others but you mean well.
Despite anything though, you have a pretty firm grasp in your sense of self, you know who you are and what you want in life.
You stand up for yourself, you don’t let anyone push you around; you’re the scary dog privileges.
And even if you sometimes come across as hard around the edges, you’re quite soft on the inside. You still choose to act with kindness even if someone doesn’t deserve it. But you’re good at killing with kindness.
You give me Taurus energy. And despite the bullet-point above you have made grown men cry. You’re kind but you are capable of hurting with your words if you so choose.
ᯓ፥Alastor ꪆ
I’ll just get it out of the way: raging daddy issues
But the kind of daddy issues that come from resentment and anger at a fatherly figure or men that remind you of that fatherly figure.
You neither want fatherly comfort nor find someone that is a good fatherly figure. You don’t need it, you’ve been this long without it so what’s the point ?
Maybe you’re likely even the type of person who comforts others but don’t want/let others comfort you. You don’t need others, others need you.
You value your privacy, very reserved about your personal life. Keeping everything close to the vest do to the load of trust issues you carry.
Definitely into older partners (more specifically older men)
Unless you don’t do dating or physical relationships. In this case you maybe find yourself being the older friend of a group of friends.
You don’t have a parental bone in your body but you have this innate need to make sure others never feel the way you did; alone, helpless. This whether you admit it or not.
Much like our resident Radio Demon you have an appreciation for the entertainment and may take some sadistic pleasure in watching the people you don’t care for fail (especially those who have wrong you in the past).
But if not giving a fuck was an olympic sport you’d be a gold medalist. You are winning the 'idgaf war' every time, bc you don’t need to retaliate immediately when someone does do you wrong either, remaining unbothered knowing that person will do themselves in.
You like to play the long game in some situations, waiting for the right time to make a move.
You don’t have time for bullshit, time costs and yours comes at a high rate. You rather get to the point than run circles. And the biggest pet-peeve is getting lead on in any way just to ultimately waste your time and get nothing out of it.
In most circumstances you don’t do anything without receiving a benefit from it unless it’s the people you truly care about. Everything has a price, a lot of things you do are for self fulfillment (Not in a negative way. You value yourself and know your worth)
You’re also a go-getter. Not waiting around for opportunities to just fall on your lap you go and make your own opportunities and open your own doors.
However one of your biggest flaws is overestimating yourself which ultimately leads you to feel like you failed at something when really you didn’t, you didn’t reach the intended goal even if the outcome was fine. Pride comes before the fall, for sure (And you’re trying to work on it. Kinda).
But you do have an issue with feeling like you’re absolutely invincible no matter what.
You have your own skeletons in the closet. Things you don’t like looking back on, decisions you regret to this day bc they shaped more of your life than you intended. But here you are persevering in one piece. If maybe a little jaded to the world around you, but in one piece. Good job.
ᯓ፥Lucifer ꪆ
You and Alastor fans are two sides of the same coin but with marked differences.
Daddy issues here too, but the ones who actually want a good fatherly figure. One you often find from a mentor or someone to give you affection and/or guidance.
You’re less likely to seek these out in romantic relationships as really what you want is to heal your inner child.
You heard More Than Anything, cried bc it’s a beautiful song than cried harder wondering why couldn’t someone love you like that.
More than anything (ba-dum-tsss) you crave to be protected, you can do it yourself, you have been. But you’re tired. You want someone else to do it for a changed, see you for who you are and love you unconditionally.
I have the feeling you’re the oldest child of a broken home that had to be a 3rd parent at a young age to your even younger siblings and it hurt like a bitch having to leave them once you were able to get out of your parent’s house. But you couldn’t stay there a second longer.
It’s also likely in your upbringing you were seen as the black sheep of the family, whatever the reason may have been. That’s something that still hurts to this day even through the no-contact you’ve likely established.
You have a lot of love to give but often don’t know how to express it or measure it. In the sense that you love too hard or too little, but you care so much. You really do.
And this is why you probably have a lot of people coming to your for a shoulder to cry on, because what you will do is protect the ones you care about the way you wish someone did you in your worse times. This is where your over abundance of love comes the most handy.
BUT behind all of this there’s also a high spirit that can be the life of any party. You have a unique magnetism and easy going personality despite anything that makes people gravitate towards you.
ᯓ፥Angel ꪆ
You have likely been through some awful shit (I’m sorry you had to go through that, me too 🫂) and that has shaped you a lot as a person today.
Probably came out of those experiences a hyper sexual that has to constantly advocate for those of us who don’t cope the same ways others do.
Angel is like a breath of fresh air because for once you get to see a representative whose bad experiences aren’t romanticized or glamorized.
The level at which you relate to him when he yelled “It’s not an act! It’s who I need to be!” was spiritual and it left you a little broken bc you likely use your persona as a shield bc if you don’t laugh you’ll cry
You don’t like letting your past define you but the line between who you are and who’s the persona built for the public keeps thinning more and more.
The trust issues you carry are so deep sometimes you accidentally push people you care about and who care about you away.
Because you do care, so much but it’s hard to let people in not knowing who’s truly going to treat you well.
Sometimes the only was you let in are the ones who go above and beyond to climb the tall thick walls you’ve put around yourself.
But life has made you strong, resilient. You know how to defend yourself and you take no shit from anyone.
You either want Angel’s rambunctious confidence or you have it and know how to work it. (work it 💅)
Don’t forget you’re more than what you can offer people. There’s genuine value in you as the person you are, not for what you can offer.

Tenderness and Warmth
Fandom : Black Clover / Pairing : You x Julius / Genre : (imo its mild but it depends on the person) smut and fluff, lighthearted / Other : if you prefer reading it on ao3 it's also there
Summary : After a long day of mutual pinning, You and Julius can finally secretly let it loose once night has fallen and most of his duties are over. Each night brings about a new compliment on his part followed by another shower of physical affection.
-------------------------------------------------
“Your hair is so long!”
Julius sat by your side. One of his favorite things to do after a long day of work and some intimate lovemaking was to compliment you. Each night, he managed to shine light upon a different feature of yourself, which made the feelings you felt for him bloom even more. He never ran out of ideas and most importantly never pointed out the same perfection twice in one night. During the day, he would compliment your overall beauty or say that your current attire suited you well, but at night – as you laid bare before him – he would never resort to such superficial claims.
“They are soft and fair. You must take good care of them,” he said, stroking the waist long hairs.
“Don’t even get me started on my haircare routine,” you said with a smile.
“Do share!” Julius said eagerly. The secret was good genes and in fact you didn’t do anything special but use shampoo and conditioner. Afraid of disappointing Julius, you put a finger to your lips, indicating they were sealed and he gave you a pout.
“They are too beautiful for you to let them be everyday.” Julius began.
You stared down at the slightly disheveled hairs who shielded your nipples from being shown. You never bothered to style them let alone worry about how they looked.
“Braids would enhance their beauty!” he finished, before taking a part and making a poor attempt at putting together a braid. You scoffed at his struggle and gently put your hands on his to part them. You took back the part of your hair which Julius was holding and showed him the motions.
“I see! So that’s how it’s done! How fascinating!” he beamed. Whenever he shocastes his – childish – enthusiasm, you couldn’t help but be reminded of a golden retriever wagging its tail. Julius Novachrone, the Wizard King with a hobby of sneaking off of work to discover new magic was now showing eagerness at the idea of learning how to do a braid, all while wearing nothing but his underwear. Who would have thought? You handed him the braid you started and his excitement and contagious smile spread to you. He treated the hair with so much unfamiliarity, the braid wound up loose and undid itself.
“Oh,” he frowned.
“Do it again,” you encouraged him.
He did it once more and this time, tied it with a ribbon he fetched, seemingly satisfied with himself. A waist length braid now descended from the right side of your neck and down to the bedsheets.
“I knew it!” Braids do enhance the overall look of your hair.” he said.
You stroked it, as ideas of hairstyles raced through your mind. You made a mental note to call upon your maid in order to help you out the next morning. The thought of Julius’ reaction made you bite your lips who threatened to let escape a snort.
“Do you not like it?”
You snapped back to reality and shook your head fervently. “No that’s not it. I love it.” Julius’ heart sunken face made you cup his cheeks, “I’m honored you made it for me. It’s not everyday someone gets to have their hair braided by the Wizard King.” You gave him a sneer, and he scoffed, amused by your words. “Do you believe me now?”
“Under normal circumstances yes, but I am not here as the Wizard King,” he added with a playful look in his eyes.
“Do you not believe me Julius?” you stroked his cheeks. “I love it, I love everything you do for me, to me. I love you.” You saw his face flush, as you gave his lips a light peck.
“I believe you now,” he wrapped his hands around your waist, “and I too, love you very much.”
He returned the peck tenfold. Pressing his lips against yours with fervent motions, only parting to allow you both some air, before leaning back in again. It was already past midnight, and you knew there was no stopping him until he was sure that you were satisfied. The usual round two involved some lighter, delicate intimacy after the longing and mutual pining from a long day of work unfolded as soon as you both reached the bedroom. You slid a hand from his cheek to grab his neck, and the other down to his chest. With great motions, you guided the kiss until you moved to your desired position. As you sat on his lap, allowing one hand to run rampant on his upper body – grazing, scratching, clutching and sinking your nails into his well-built muscles – feeling his hard finger grip the fat of the back of your lower body. To his brief dismay, you parted from the kiss to instead direct your lips to the surface of his neck, both of your hands now resting upon his chest. Julius buried his face on the top of your head, and the sensation of his raspy breath sent a turmoil of butterflies in your stomach.
“I don’t recall telling you how good they smell,” he said in a whispering voice. You smiled in his neck and grazed your nose upon it’s outline.
“No, but I do appreciate the compliment. You couldn’t have picked a better moment to mention it,” you teased.
He brought his hands to your face, lifting it up and pushing back your hair with his fingertips, your cheeks now in his palms. He stared down at you with a forced serious expression that hinted at amusement. “Are you saying I should have kept quiet about it?” he said.
You gave him a patronizing mock of a smile, “you tell me. As a citizen of the Clover Kingdom, I would never dare tell Julius Novachrono what he can and can’t do.”
“You’re such a tease!” he exclaimed. He gave you a loud peck on the forehead, which caused you to chuckle, before he went and closed the distance between his lips and yours.
He moved you down to your back, effortlessly removing his underwear while he was at it. His lips found your collarbone, showering it with kisses, as your hands ruffled his blond hair and ran through his back. A groan of pleasure escaped you – his fingers had found your vulva and were manipulating it with dexterity and experience. The familiar sensation sent quivers up your abdomen, as your cunt responded in pleasure, wetting his finger with warm liquids.
“Julius,” you whimpered. Each moan brought about an increase  of movements on his part – one finger playing with your clitoris in clockwise motions whilst the remaining fingers went in and out of yourself, occasionally caressing it’s outer region.
“Say my name once more,” he said. You did as you were told, moaning in between each syllable, as you knew he liked. Clasping your legs around his body, you grabbed his head and directed it towards yourself.
“Kisses,” you demanded. A rain of pecks descended upon your face’s feature before your lips – the final stop – were rewarded. He slumped on you – making sure his full body weight didn’t hinder you – and took your hands, intertwining his fingers in yours. His body heat mingled with yours, whilst you faintly moved yours rhythmically under his. Julius let go of your left hand for a moment, before reuniting both hands back. You felt the inside of your already loosened cunt welcome him back inside for the second time of the night. Your thighs and stomach ebbed with thrill upon the familiar yet still enjoyable thrusting movements of Julius, as he matched his rhythm to yours. You could feel your eyes – tightly shut – roll to the back of your head, as his hips moved his cock slowly inside you. Julius’ lips parted with yours and found your left ears. He breasted deeply in and out from both nose and mouth, surrendering himself to your moans.,  before he bit the edge of your ear and nimbled it. This was it. You felt your body reach its climax as you gripped his hands tighter. He gave you a peck on the temple before sliding his cock out, and descending down on you to swallow the now done exploding orgasm. He didn’t waste this opportunity to lick your clitoris and let his tongue add pleasure to your sweet spots – cursing you to grip his hair tight and your toe to curl on the bed sheets. He stopped only when he heard your moans to raspy breathings. He smiled, as you released him, parting your arms to allow him to nestle in them.
“You devil,” you teased. “Eating me out right after I come. You should do it more often.”
He chuckled, “I am no devil, but I can certainly do the latter again tomorrow.” He positioned himself on his elbows to look at you, “But didn’t you say earlier that you are in no place to tell me what I can and can’t do?” He stared at you, with his lips curled in a smile and his eyes sneering.
“Julius! Do not bring sex conversations outside of sex.”
“Oh but we are very much still in bed and not done,” he said, and gave you another round of kisses, combined with laughing. You had to beg him to stop otherwise neither of you would get some sleep and god forbids the Wizard King of ever being tired.
The next day, you woke up to an empty bed as usual – no traces of Julius being there last night were left, as being in a public relationship would prove to be a weakness for him. You called upon your maid and tasked her with braiding your hair, prior to going on about your day, already anticipating the tension and discreet kisses from the interactions you would get with Julius, as Marx’s personal aid.

Hehe i think you arleady know me cause i am litteraly the queen of spam anyways PLEASE can you do a uzugiyuu thing when like Tengen (and maybe his wives) got jealous cause his so called husband Giyuu is too close with Shinobu or smth like that (dont mind my grammar i am french) anyways that's all i love you and your post very much btw💗💗
Tumblr media
keep spamming me i love it and i love you too <3 tysm
Giyuu wasn’t quite sure how or when he’d been proclaimed Tengen’s husband, but he honestly didn’t mind. Especially since the four Uzui’s had a tendency to keep him company whenever or wherever he was, without a care in the world. Their enthusiasm was contagious and Giyuu was all for it, as long as they weren’t barging into his house again. But as much as he appreciated their constant patience with him and how much they claimed to love him, there was definitely cons to this relationship they’d established. One being Tengen’s something something jealousy and the arguments that erupted constantly between him and Shinobu. Somehow, Tengen had decided that Shinobu was ‘hogging’ Giyuu and had taken it into his own hands to warn Shinobu to ‘back off.’ Or something.
Giyuu found himself stuck in between the two—which was very disorienting because of Tengen and Shinobu’s height differences so that it felt like the words were ping ponging around him. He was getting dizzy at all the shouting and snapping. He didn’t even understand Tengen’s logic when he said that Giyuu was his—mostly because Shinobu had no interest in dating Giyuu and that was apparent, even to Sanemi. There was something about being tugged from Tengen’s arms to being pulled by Shinobu to being snatched back by Tengen that didn’t quite sit right with Giyuu. But when he voiced the opinion, Tengen spoke over him and Shinobu told him—Giyuu—to shut up. Which was all well and all, so he was yanked around like an idiot until Tengen settled the argument by carrying Giyuu away.
Eventually, Giyuu found himself hoisted over Tengen’s shoulder and marched to the Uzui household. At least, he thought, Tengen’s wives were quite to intervene and have him put down. So while they coddled him and Hinatsuru had a word with Tengen about all this manhandling, Giyuu walked the rest of the way to the Estate, accompanied by Makio and Suma. They questioned him, knowing how Tengen probably had been earlier. Giyuu figured they must be quite used to this by now.
He assured them that Shinobu had also played a part in it so his disheveled state mustn’t be blamed purely on Tengen. Nevertheless, they hustled him inside and took down his ponytail to assist in brushing his hair out and dusting him off. He supposed it wasn’t all too bad, then. What with Hinatsuru and Tengen joining them soon after. Hours later, Giyuu found himself bundled up in a futon with the four Uzui’s, the women in the pile all fast asleep. Tengen was wide awake, as was Giyuu, mostly because he was aware of missions he had to attend to in a bit and refused to let himself sleep. He took the chance to assure Tengen that he, in fact, did not see Shinobu in any romantic light. And that she was more of a friend to him, or a sister. Tengen agreed, though he didn’t bother apologizing for earlier. Which was the end of that.
Except it really wasn’t because the next day, when going over to the Butterfly Estate for a check up—his original plans yesterday before Tengen crashed the party—he found Shinobu and Tengen bickering. Sensing immediately that it was about the thing from the day before, he took a safer route and went to a sympathetic Aoi for his check up instead.

†  dating : bokuto.
Tumblr media
❥ scenario: what it's like to date bokuto ❥ no triggers; not rated. ❥ i don't have any beta readers - you get what you get. ❥ requested!
❥ sorry for being late, anon.
let me just begin this by saying.. it would definitely be an experience.
❥ he is very well knowing for his endless energy and enthusiasm. depending on who he's around, it can be considered just a bit too much. whether it's something he's passionate about or volleyball, sometimes even the simplest of activities can spark him to go at it full force. there's no lack of excitement when he's with you, date or not, it's going to be an experience. he's absolutely the type to drag you out for spontaneous dates or surprising you with things just to make you smile.
❥ one thing that you need to be prepared for is the fact that bokuto deals with major highs and major lows. you would, of course, need to learn how to deal with things like this - not in a bad way, but it's an important factor about him. being in a good mood, he's unstoppable, honestly. he's so cheerful and energetic, ready to take on the world and make sure you're laughing and smiling the entire time. however, he's going to need someone to be that way for him; he's going to need reassurance and support. he would deeply appreciate and adore someone who's able to understand him and his moods. someone that won't simply avoid him when he's not in the best of moods.
❥ on the other hand, he's probably the most affectionate person around. physically and emotionally. he's going to be attached to you one way or the other, holding your hand, hugging you by the side or just leaning against you while you're reading or watching something. he's considerably loyal and when he's decided someone is worth it, he's never going to let go, he's in entirely. he's going to remind you constantly that he adores you, how perfect you are to him, etc etc.
❥ like some of the others, bokuto has a childlike manner to him on a normal basis - it's something that's easy to be seen but it doesn't mean he's incapable of serious moments. it's definitely never a boring experience when he's around. it's not uncommon to build blanket forts or having friendly competitions at the arcade and honestly, it's not something that's bad. he easily keeps the light spirit alive - he's a great match for someone who needs to heal their inner child. he has his serious moments but he has a playful nature to him that can be contagious. very carefree and joyal.
❥ he is your biggest fan. he's a very encouraging person, never wanting to see anyone he cares about give up on something they're passionate about. he considers it his job to cheer you up and take care of you, never wanting to see you down in the dumps or upset over something for too long. he cares deeply about your success and will do everything in his power to make sure you achieve all of your goals and never give up.
❥ just as he is on the court - bokuto is a loyal, dependable partner. communication, trust and teamwork at the key to a strong bond and he values these things. he's there to hold you up just as much as you're there to hold him up. he would very much need to be in a relationship built o mutual ground but also not a strict 50/50 rule. i feel like bokuto leans on the 50/50 most of the time, but picking up the percentage when the other can't or is struggling. he's your 50, 80, 20, etc. as long as there is communication.
all in all - dating bokuto would be super fun. very much golden retriever vibes but.. not the toxic kind. he's there for you and needs you to be there for him. he will do everything he can to make you feel loved and appreciated at all times. make sure to do the same for him.

Library crush.
Seokmin x reader
Synopsis: In which his favourite book is actually a person.
Warnings:fluff, min being a goof ball(as usual), mentions of some authors(should that be a warning??),and yeah, that's it.
A/n: the synopsis sucks yo I'm sorry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seokmin wasn't a bookworm by any stretch of the imagination. Words on paper held about as much allure as a soggy napkin.
Perhaps it was the flickering image of a vintage library in a movie he watched recently or maybe a subconscious yearning for a different kind of escape. Whatever the reason, he found himself, standing awkwardly infront of the city library.
Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the doors, the hushed reverence of the place instantly washing over him. The scent of aged paper and leather mingled in the air, creating an atmosphere of quiet knowledge.
Rows upon rows of books lined the walls, their spines whispering untold stories. Seokmin, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information, felt a flicker of panic.
"Excuse me." a soft voice broke through his anxiety. A young figure stood behind a mahogany counter, your smile warm and welcoming. Your name tag read "...." "Can I help you find something?"
Seokmin, caught off guard, fumbled for an answer. He couldn't very well admit he was a book-reading novice venturing into uncharted territory. So, he did what any self-respecting charlatan would do – he lied.
"Ah, yes," he cleared his throat, feigning confidence. "I'm looking for something… philosophical. Maybe something by...Camus?"
Your eyes widened in surprise. "Camus? Excellent choice! Have you read 'The Stranger'?"
Seokmin, whose knowledge of Camus extended to a vague recognition of the name, mumbled something about "meaning to" while internally panicking.
But you, oblivious to his charade, launched into a passionate explanation of existentialism and the absurdity of life. Seokmin, surprisingly, found himself captivated by your enthusiasm.
As you expertly guided him towards a shelf overflowing with philosophical texts, He couldn't help but steal glances at you.Your eyes sparkled with genuine love for literature, and your smile radiated a contagious warmth.
He ended up leaving the library with a book on existentialism (one you had highly recommended), a head full of borrowed knowledge, and a heart inexplicably lighter.
The following day, Seokmin found himself drawn back to the library. He couldn't admit it, not even to himself, the lure wasn't the philosophical treasure clutched awkwardly in his hand but it was you. It was the prospect of seeing you again, of getting lost in the world of ideas reflected in your bright eyes.
His charade continued, his fabricated bookish interests intertwined with genuine curiosity sparked by your recommendations. He learned about dystopian novels, explored the fantastical worlds of fantasy epics, and even dabbled in poetry (all the while hoping you wouldn't ask him to recite any).
Days turned into weeks, and the library became Seokmin's unexpected sanctuary. He still hadn't finished the book on existentialism, but he did discover a love for the quiet company of books and the even more captivating company of you.
However, one day, disaster struck. As he was attempting a particularly dramatic recitation of Kierkegaard (butchering the pronunciation in the process), you appeared beside him, a pile of books in your arms.
"Interesting interpretation of 'The Dread'" You said, a smile playing on your lips.
Seokmin's face flushed crimson, embarrassment filling him."I, uh…" he stammered, the book clutched to his chest like a blanket. "I just, really love… philosophy?"
Your smile widened. "Min," you said, your voice gentle, "you do realize the book you're holding is actually a cookbook, right?"
Seokmin's face flushed. He'd been caught, his charade exposed. Shame burned in his gut, the fear of rejection looming large. He mumbled an apology, expecting you to laugh him out of the library.
But to his surprise, you simply chuckled. "Don't worry about it," you said, your eyes twinkling. "It was actually quite entertaining watching you struggle with existential angst over a quiche recipe."
Relief washed over him, warm and sweet. "You weren't… mad?"
You shook your head. "Not really. I found your enthusiasm… endearing. Even if it was a little misplaced."
A blush crept back up his neck, this time for a different reason. "So, you… you don't mind that I, uh, pretended to be something I'm not?"
"Honestly," You admitted, leaning against the table. "the library can get pretty quiet sometimes. Having someone, even a fake philosopher, to chat with is a nice change."
Seokmin's heart did a happy little jump. Maybe he wasn't Dostoevsky, but at least he wasn't a complete fraud.
"Well," he stammered, a newfound confidence blooming in his chest. "how about we skip the existential dread and move on to something a little lighter? Like, maybe grabbing a coffee sometime? You know, discuss real existential problems, like what kind of roast is truly the best?"
You chuckled, a melody more beautiful than any book he's borrowed. "I'd like that very much, Min. And hey, maybe I can even teach you the difference between a philosophy book and a quiche recipe."

Tumblr media Tumblr media
in which Javier Peña has a not so big strong man crush on the new intern.
tags: kind of fluff, age gap (not mentioned tho), pet names, use of Spanish , kind of forbidden love idk, javier is a slut ( barely mentioned in the story just wanted to put it out there) but also hes down BAD for reader, unprotected p in v sex (dont be silly, wrap your willy), afab reader, oh yeah use of y/n and reader is kind of thiiqueee idk what else so lmk if i missed anything!!!!
Tumblr media
Javier had been standing outside for a while now, his gaze focused on the dry, concrete pavement in front of the Embassy. He took a drag of his marlboro cigarette and exhaled after a few moments, silently watching as the cloud of smoke wafted away.
The DEA Agent took a glance up at the night sky and the flickering streetlamps that had been due for maintenance years ago. The sound of footsteps snapped him out of his daze, and he then turned his head.
"buenas noches, señor peña!"
it was y/n, the newly arrived intern: a bubbly girl that was way too excited when anyone mentioned criminals, with a smile that made even the sun want to take a closer look.
“buenas noches, querida.” The Texan rasped, his eyes taking note of her outfit. god, what a dress.
"long day, huh?" she asks before reaching her hand out and offering Javier a cup filled to the brim with warm coffee. "i know it's late, but coffee is always good." she smiles intently.
He smiled back, nodding his head in thanks, before accepting the coffee cup in his hands. "thank you, and yes, very long day indeed. this fucking heat isn't helping at all." Javier chuckles as he takes a long sip from the cup.
"i was gonna finish my coffee then head home, my feet are killing me..." she groans. "Also, this dress is horrible...forgot to wear some nylons under it, and now my thighs feel like you could fry something on them."
Javier raised an eyebrow, and looked down at her thighs, his curiosity piqued. smiling in the corner of his mouth, y/n's eyes met his. He then looked down once again for a moment, before chuckling ever so slightly.
"Does that matter when you look so good, hermosa?"
y/n lets out a soft giggle, cheeks turning a pale shade of red, before she slaps his shoulder playfully. "you say that to everyone, señor Peña"
Javier chuckled, his deep voice rumbling softly as he took another sip of the coffee. "Only to those who deserve it," he replied with a mischievous glint in his eyes. y/n's blush deepened, and she couldn't help but smile at his response. "Well, I'm flattered..."
As they stood there under the flickering streetlamp, sharing a moment of casual banter amidst the night's shadows, Javier couldn't deny that the unexpected company of the bubbly intern had lightened the weight of the long, tiring day.
He appreciated her energy and enthusiasm, which contrasted the often grim and serious nature of his work.
it's what made him more excited to come to work for the past few months. and buy new clothes...and cologne. Javier will never admit it was for her, though.
"Listen," Javier began, taking a more serious tone, "I know you're new here, and this job can be tougher than it looks. But I've got a good feeling about you, y/n. You've got that spark, and that's something we could use around here."
y/n's s eyes widened in surprise and gratitude. "Thank you, señor Peña. I really appreciate that. I promise to give it my all." she nods. " all though...a certain someone who i will not name told me to never ever trust your praises as they're just means to get into someone's pants.." y/n laughed.
"you're too smart for that, muñeca."
Javier smirked, amused by her response. "Well, I can't say I haven't heard those rumors about me before," he admitted, taking another thoughtful drag of his cigarette. "But, let me assure you, my compliments are genuine when they need to be."
y/n's smile was contagious, and she couldn't help but chuckle. "I'll take your word for it."
As they continued to chat and sip their coffee, the night air began to cool, providing some much-needed relief from the scorching heat. Their camaraderie, lighthearted yet sincere, made the hours they spent at the embassy more bearable.
it's been a while since Javier last felt this way with someone. He hated to admit it, but it was true.
Javier couldn't help but reflect on how long it had been since he'd experienced a genuine connection like this. The life of a DEA agent often led to solitude and secrecy, and trust was a rare and treasured commodity in his line of work.
With y/n, though, he sensed a different kind of trust budding. It wasn't just about the job; it was about the shared moments, the laughter.
Javier found himself appreciating the small, subtle details about y/n. The way her hair fell onto her shoulders, as if it were a cascade of silk, had a certain charm that was hard to ignore. He couldn't help but notice how her rosy cheeks seemed to light up every time he complimented her, and it warmed his heart to see her smile so genuinely.
And in that quiet corner of the world, under the watchful gaze of the night sky and the flickering streetlamps, Javier couldn't deny the fact that he enjoyed these stolen moments with y/n.
godㅡㅡ he doesn't know if he wants to fuck her or rip his heart out, cover it in glitter and give it to her, for fuck's sake.
his thoughts are stopped dead in their tracks as y/n's voice fills his ears again. "i should head home now... what about you? still got work or are you ready to head home? maybe we can walk together!"
"still have some work, querida, but..." he trails off "are you really in a hurry to get home?"
y/n hesitated for a moment, torn between her desire to spend more time with Javier and the exhaustion of a long day. "Well, I'd love to stay, but I have an early morning tomorrow, and I should get some rest."
Javier nodded in understanding, taking a final drag from his cigarette before extinguishing it on the pavement. "I understand, hermosa. You go ahead and get some rest. Don't want you falling asleep during those early meetings."
"so...you're not gonna walk me home?" she sounds kind of disappointed.
shit. she's so cute. someone slap this man. He's supposed to be an untouchable god that every woman wants. yet here he is, almost drooling over y/n.
Javier's expression softened at her disappointment, and he couldn't help but chuckle at her pouting. "Alright, alright, I suppose I can spare a few more minutes. It's not every day I get to walk a beautiful young lady home," he said with a wink.
y/n's face lit up, and she grinned. "You really know how to make a girl's night, señor."
walking together through the dimly lit streets, Javier couldn't deny the way he felt toward y/n. She was indeed beautiful, and her playful banter made him forget about the weight of his responsibilities, if only for a little while.
as they made their way to y/n's house, the wind hummed through the trees, soft creaks from some nearby swings in a park swirling alongside it. the night seemed to embrace them
it was beautiful. she was beautiful. fucking hell man, come on, get it together.
"we almost there, muñeca? you live pretty far away. how do you manage?"
"I've got things that motivate me to manage it."
"things?"
"yeah...stuff, you know? like work...people."
She laughed, and they continued walking together, their conversation ranging from the challenges of their work to the mundane details of their lives. The more they talked, the more Javier found himself drawn to her spirit and charm ㅡㅡ if that possible.
As they finally reached her doorstep, y/n turned to face him, a hint of reluctance in her eyes. "Well...we're here." she reaches for the doorknob before hastily turning back to face Javier. "do you want to maybe...come inside and ㅡㅡ maybe talk?"
was he really asking him this? impossible. this is a dream. that's how all of his dreams start. and they end with her under him.
"Iㅡ" he hesitatingly tries to reply "it's fine if you dont wanna! don't even know why i asked you, it's weird, sorryㅡ"
"No, querida, wait. I do." he sighs "I do want to come inside. That's the problem."
y/n's eyes widened with surprise at his response, her cheeks flushing with a mix of nervousness and excitement. She stammered, "Oh, uh... can't believe it.. Well, come on in, then!" Her hand shook slightly as she opened the door and gestured for him to follow.
Javier couldn't believe his luck. This unexpected turn of events left him both exhilarated and cautiousㅡㅡ if his boss finds out about this they're both better off as dead. As they stepped into her cozy living room, the air seemed charged with a palpable tension, a delicate balance between temptation and anticipation.
They settled on her couch, sitting close but not too close. y/n nervously played with a strand of her hair, her gaze occasionally meeting his, their eyes locking in a silent, electric exchange.
"y/n, I need to be honest," Javier finally spoke, his voice lower and more intense. "I'm not used to this kind of situation. I'm usually a lot more careful. 's why I try to only get with people who, you know..." he trails off, motioning his hands in the air.
y/n nodded, understanding the weight of their profession and the risks involved when it comes to, well, being amorous. "I get it. It's just... I don't know. There's something about you that's... I feel so silly saying this, god."
Javier leaned in closer, his gaze unwavering. "Tell me, y/n"
Their faces drew nearer, the magnetic pull between them impossible to ignore. It was a gamble, a moment of vulnerability neither of them were used to, but they were both willing to see where this unexpected night would lead.
She swallowed hard, the tension between them growing. "I really like you, and i know you probably find me stupid and a klutz and also I'm young, so what do I knowㅡ"
"Woah, querida. Slow down."
Javier placed a finger gently on y/n's lips, silencing her thoughts. "First of all, you're not stupid or a klutz, and age has nothing to do with how you feel, hermosa. And, believe me, you're not alone in those feelings."
y/n's eyes searched his for a sign, a confirmation that he felt the same way. She couldn't help but feel her heart racing in anticipation.
With a soft, reassuring smile, Javier continued, "I've been doing this job for a long time, and I've met a lot of people. But there's something about you.." he looks down at her lips "can I?"
"y-esㅡ"
Their lips found each other in a passionate kiss, igniting a fire between them that felt deeper and more genuine than anything they had experienced before. Javier's hands roamed up y/n's body, pulling her closer to him as the kiss became increasingly intense.
When they finally pulled away, they were left panting, their eyes locked in an electrifying gaze. "fuck, querida," Javier whispered, his voice husky with desire. "do you know how long I've waited for this?"
y/n's breathless response came in a soft, sultry whisper, "not as long as I have.."
javier's lips crash onto y/n's neck, sucking small spots, the skin blooming red as they hastily start to undress each other.
"gonna let me take care of you, muñeca?"
"pleaseㅡ"
fuck, she sounds so desperate.
"i know, hermosa. Mira, djame cuidarte esta noche."
Javier's fingers dance onto her skin, trailing up to where her bra clasp was. in one swift motion he relieves y/n, letting her breasts fall down into one of his palms.
inching closer, he starts to trace kisses down her neck to her cleavage, nipping slightly at the sensitive skin between her chest. " so beautiful. "
his mustache lightly tickling her as he prepped small kisses all over her, javier pushes y/n onto her back and pulls her hips closer to his by her ankles, drawing a soft whine from the latter. "patience, muñeca. can you wait just a little more for me, huh?"
"y-yesㅡ"
"good girl."
he finally pulls off her panties, tossing them to the side as he spreads y/n's cunt wide open with two of his fingers, analyzing the way it glistened in the dimly lit room. "so pretty. my pretty girl." y/n moans in response.
placing his palm behind her knee, he lift up her legs as to press light pecks onto her plush thighs, his thumb now tracing down to her pulsing clit. javier starts to slowly swirl his finger, still kissing y/n's thigh. "I'm gonna stretch out that pretty pussy, querida, it'll be all you think about."
tracing her entrace with his index, he plunges his finger deep into her, causing y/n to arch her back onto the mattress of the couch. this was it. he was where all of his fantasies led him to. now that he had her, he'll never let go.
cunningly, javier moved his finger into y/n's pussy, squelching sounds and her moans lapping off the walls and into his ears like melodies. "that's right. want you to come on my fingers, hermosa."
it didn't take long for y/n to finally give him what he asked for, coming just from javier's fingers, her body writhing as soft whines dripped from her lips.
"Do you want to continue, querida?" he asks, caressing ar her hips. "please, javier..." and when she pleaded his name in such a way, it sent a jolt up his spine, causing his cock to twitch into his boxers.
"i got you." he smiles, eyes tracing every curve of y/n's body. he takes off his briefs, letting his shaft spring free, small pearls of precum already gathered at the tip. y/n's eyes opened out more as she saw the sheer monster that was about to enter inside of her. "it's fine, querida. it won't bite, hm?" javier hums.
taking his length into his fist, javier pumps it a few times before he aligns it with y/n's entrance that trickled with slick. he teases her clit with the tip of it then goes in, making y/n to claw at his back.
"shh, muñeca. it's okay..." Javier starts to move slowly, gently holding y/n's waist as he lets her adjust to him. sla few strokes after he feels her wrap her legs around him, urging him deeper. "harder, please.." she pleads, the sweetest sounds escaping her plump and swollen lips.
"fuck.." Javier groans, almost coming right then with the way she stared up at him through her lashes wet with tears. "fuck, sweet girlㅡ" he starts to pump inside of her, harder and deeper, roughly hitting that one spot continously.
y/n moans, her head empty, vision blurry, and mouth agape. she was a mess, the prettiest mess he'd ever seen. all because... thanks to him.
the man moves back and forth harshly, feeling himself so close as y/n's valvet walls wrapped perfectly around his cock. "shitㅡ you were made for my cock, muñeca. my pretty, pretty girl." he moans, pressing his head between her breasts, nails digging bruises into y/n's hips.
a few moments later, y/n is completely blank, incoherent babbles skipping from her mouth as Javier fucks deep into her. "you gonna come, hermosa?" y/n nods rapidly "go aheadㅡ fuck! go ahead, come on this cock, show me how good you are to me."
that's all she needed.
she comes once again, nimbly wrapping around javier like a vine, her walls squeezing him so tight it makes his release warm, white ropes inside of her immediately.
they both pant, as they come down from their high. realization sets in as they meet each other's gaze.
"thank god you're only an intern, querida. I'm strictly forbidden to fuck employees." Javier chuckles. "oh, shut up, jerk." y/n huffs, smiling as she presses yet another kiss onto his lips.

birthday surprise (dad!matty x reader fluff)
another matty35 fic!! a sweet little moment about you and your girls surprising their dad on his birthday, on the other side of the world from home. enjoy! <3
Tumblr media
“here we are, 345. dyl, you take the keycard for your mum, yeah?” adam hands the card for the room to your eldest, then peels your middle child from his leg, ruffling her curls. “and remember, you need to be extra loud to wake your dad up. feel free to film it, also.”
you snort, readjusting the baby in your arms. “you think i'll be able to wrangle these three and matty and get the camera out at the same time?”
“good point. still, i expect to hear all about it later!”
“of course. thanks again for helping with this, mate,” you give your friend a hug. “right, you lot, hugs to uncle adam before we go inside.”
adam crouches so dylan and elena can cuddle him, then stands to boop phoebe's tiny nose. “see you all at dinner. have fun!”
“we will!” dylan calls after him. grabbing the handle of her suitcase, she turns to look at you expectantly. “can we go in now, mummy?”
the eagerness is practically radiating off her and elena - actually, even phoebe, barely a year old, seems keen to get inside to see her dad. then again, her two big sisters did spend the entire flight from london to LA explaining that matty was away for work and it was about to be his birthday and the reason you were all on the plane was so you could go and surprise him at work “and also to go to the beach”. while she might be too little to fully understand what they're saying - especially given that both of your elder daughters inherited the matty trait of rambling at the speed of light - their enthusiasm was definitely contagious; despite your lethargy from trying to get three under-eights through an airport and onto a plane in peace, your own excitement about seeing matty for the first time in two months was heightened listening to them yap.
you nod, smiling at your girls. “open the door, dyl, sweetheart. remember to be really quiet when we're going in, yeah? we don't want to wake daddy up before we're ready, do we?”
“no,” elena shakes her head, wild curls flying everywhere. she's the one most like her dad, in personality and looks, with a big toothy smile and a frequent disdain for rules or convention. “and we need to put all our things away first, too.”
well, sometimes she's very like you. “exactly, lena. help your sister with the door, would you?”
little faces set in determination, dylan and elena push the heavy door open as quietly as possible; you shift phoebe into one arm and hold it with the other while they grab their suitcases, then swap the baby to your other arm while you grab your own. once you're in the little entryway, dylan sensibly grabs the handle so she can close the door with minimal noise, turning to you with a grin. “we did it.”
“we did. well done, munchkins,” you high-five dylan and elena, and kiss phoebe's fluffy little head before looking around the hotel room - although, suite would be a more accurate word to describe it. you knew management were booking some sort of family room for matty in preparation for the birthday surprise, but you didn't quite expect something so elaborate. “wow, this is nice.”
“it's so big!” elena pokes her head round the nearest door to you, left ajar, and returns absolutely beaming. “that's daddy's room.”
dylan gasps and tiptoes to stick her own head in, and you follow, excitement buzzing through your body. at the sight of matty, fast asleep with his curls askew and the covers bunched around his waist, you sigh happily; even after all these years together, you're not used to being away from him, and the sight of him within touching distance after almost nine weeks of nothing but facetimes and texts and phone calls honestly brings a lump to your throat.
you can't keep looking at him forever, though, as easy as it would be for you to do - you and your daughters are on a mission, after all. “right. lena, could you open the door on the left, please? the one across from dad's?”
she obliges. “bathroom - oh!” she gasps. “the shower has a bench in it!”
“really?” you peer in, jaw dropping in complete bewilderment - the room's bigger than the master bedroom in the old flat. “shi- shocked. i'm shocked. anyway,” you nudge her out of the doorway. “moving on. next room?”
dylan's already on it. “another bedroom, mum. two beds.”
“that's you two's, then. come on, we'll put our stuff in here for now.”
it's a lovely room, sun-dappled and spacious. you giggle as elena cannonballs onto one of the beds, while dylan immediately goes to the window to look out onto los angeles; phoebe coos happily as you lay her on the other bed, kicking her tiny legs in the air with reckless abandon. she giggles when you lean down to blow a raspberry on her tummy, your favourite sound in the world, and cuddles into you when you take her into your arms again. “alright, my girls, i think it's time,” you start, and the two older girls come skidding over. “who's got dad's birthday card?”
“me,” elena runs to her carry-on, pulling out the card the three of them made for matty and carrying it over as if it was made of glass.
“and the present?”
“here,” dylan holds up a gift bag.
you nod. “good. you ready?”
they both nod enthusiastically, little bobbleheads with cheesy grins. you grin in return, turning to phoebe. “are you ready, baba?”
adorably, she grins back just as cheesily as her sisters; you take that as a “yes”, although you carefully sniff her to make sure she doesn't need changed. with an approving nod, you stand up, smiling. “alright. let's go and see daddy. quietly.”
you've barely got the words out before dylan and elena are tiptoeing as quickly as they can out of the room, graceless impersonations of the demi-pointe running they do at ballet class. turning to phoebe, you sigh. “nice of them to wait for us, isn't it, pheebs?”
she giggles again, a flash of matty genes amidst a face that looks mostly like yours. even though you've been married to him for years and loved him even longer, the fact you have three kids with matty is a little bit mind-boggling to you. in all those years you spent pining for him, the thought of a family was far-fetched even in your wildest dreams - thinking about your girls, half you and half him, flesh and blood with hearts of gold and incredible brains and the biggest smiles you've ever seen… it's honestly a little overwhelming, in the best possible way; a perfect epilogue to a love story that took a few more pages to kick in than it should've.
“mama,” phoebe coos, distracting you, beaming when you coo praise in response. yeah, she only knows two words, but she learned them scarily fast compared to her sisters - again, you reckon it's down to their and matty's respective constant yapping. “dada?”
“yes, sweet girl, we'll go and see him now,” you hoist her further into your grasp, kissing her chubby cheek before following your other sweet girls. they’re waiting outside matty’s door, looking between it and you like they’re watching wimbledon, practically vibrating with excitement. the sight makes you smile. “ok, girls, game plan time. i say we all sit on the empty side of the bed, and when i give the signal, we shout ‘surprise!’. classic, simple, effective. yeah?”
“good idea, mum,” dylan nods. “now?”
you grin. “yeah.”
she bolts into the room, ducking round the half-open door without touching it, elena at her heels. you can’t really stop yourself from running, either, although the door hinders you slightly more given that you’re holding phoebe. and, you know, you’re not five or seven. by the time you and the baby get in, the girls have already carefully climbed onto the bed, staring lovingly down at matty not unlike the way they stared at phoebe when she first came home from the hospital.
the thought makes you giggle, which in turn makes elena turn round to scowl at you. “mummy! shhhh!”
“sorry. here, dyl, take… thanks,” you pass phoebe to her biggest sister while you climb onto the bed, too; dylan carefully sits the baby down beside her, the resemblance between them especially evident in the way they’re smiling. you can’t blame them - you might be biased, but you do think your husband is a very cute sleeper, pretty lips slightly parted and eyelashes brushing his cheek.
a cute sleeper, beginning to wake up already. dylan and elena are coiled springs, ready to shout-shock their dad into full consciousness - their faces aren’t visible where you sit, but you know that they’re grinning. you are, too. so is phoebe, most likely.
two months apart. far too long.
matty’s arms stretch the exact same way dylan’s do when she first wakes up (and you do your best to keep your thoughts about them to a PG rating). you’ve been privy to his wakeup routine countless times since you were eighteen, and, still, your heart flutters at the way he yawns and rolls onto his side, lips set into a sleepy faint smile, blinking his eyes open. but, before you can even open your mouth to signal “now!”, those eyes widen fully; accompanied by a “christ!”, matty jumps (well, jerks) backward in surprise, and, in the process, completely falls out of the bed.
all four of the rest of you crawl to the edge of the bed, reactions varying to the echoing thud of your husband’s arse hitting the hardwood floor. dylan and elena are beside themselves with laughter, clutching each other in complete hysterics, while you lean over in shock, tentatively asking “baby, you alright?”. but it’s phoebe’s reaction that matty actually responds to, pulling himself back up when he hears her concerned wail of “dada!” and sees her lip trembling, a sign of imminent tears - he climbs onto the mattress and shuffles towards the centre, scooping her up into a cuddle and pressing gentle kisses to her little head. “oh, my sweet baby. daddy’s alright, munchkin, really, but i appreciate the concern,” he scowls at the older two. “at least one of my daughters cares about me.”
“sorry, dad,” dylan moves to snuggle into him, elena copying the action on the other side. “we do care. but that was a little bit funny.”
he smiles, leaning down as best he can to kiss their curls in turn. “yeah, i s’pose it was. and i’ve missed making you all laugh, even if that time was unintentional. missed you, all of you, my girls!”
elena looks up at her dad adoringly. “missed you too. a lot. so has dyl, and pheebs. and mummy.”
“yeah,” matty looks at you properly for the first time; his eyes look like home, warm and loving and familiar, and it still does funny things to your stomach. “hi, darling. you kept this quiet, didn’t you?”
“wanted to surprise you, baby,” you move to kiss him, as passionately as you can with three kids around; despite the restraint from both of you, you’re lightheaded when you break apart. “happy birthday.”
“thanks, my darlings,” matty blushes, amid a chorus of felicitations from your daughters. he sniffles and hugs the baby tighter, tears welling in those pretty eyes. “this is really special, having you all out here with me today. god, you’ve no idea how much i’ve missed you.”
“yeah, we do,” you laugh softly, leaning around phoebe to gently wipe the tears from his eyes with your thumbs; he kisses your palm as a thank-you. “we took a twelve-hour flight across the atlantic because we didn’t want to be away from you any longer! thank god management agreed to it, by the way. reckon i’d have gone insane if i had to wait for tour to end before i got to be with you again. and yes,” you notice matty opening his mouth to speak. “we’re here until hometime.”
“oh, thank god,” matty’s eyes close in bliss. “i miss home.”
“funny you should say that, actually,” you wave to get dylan’s attention, nodding towards the gift bag. “take a look at your birthday present.”
“and card,” elena chips in.
“and card, of course,” you settle the baby against your own chest, smiling as matty tugs the girls into a cuddle after he reads the card from them; it turns to a full-on giggle when he opens the gift bag. “so, verdict?”
matty cheers, pulling out the box of pg tips teabags and packet of chocolate digestives. “you always know just what i need,” he wraps an arm around you, kissing your head.
“yeah, which is why there’s also a new turntable waiting for you at home, too. we were gonna buy a record to go with it, but,” you look up at your husband quizzically. “we thought it might be nice to go shopping for one here, together?”
he kisses you sweetly. “i love that idea. to be honest, i’d be happy doing anything with my girls. shall we go record shopping today?”
“matty, babe, it’s your birthday. you decide!”
“alright. record shopping it is,” he grins, increasing the volume of his voice as he continues. “but first… i’m thinking we should order room service.”
elena’s face lights up. “can we get pancakes? please? with nutella? and strawberries?”
matty gestures towards the entryway. “menu’s out there, munchkins. go and have a look, see what you want,” he smiles after elena and dylan as they tear out of the room. “can’t believe you managed to get those adorable riots on a transatlantic flight by yourself. and you, baba!” he coos to phoebe, who babbles excitedly in response. her dad laughs, kissing her head before kissing you. “seriously, i’m in awe of you. have been for decades at this point already, but… i’m so impressed that you pulled this off. and so grateful. and so in love with you, forever and always.”
“i love you so, so much. always will,” you kiss matty’s lips, then nose, then all over his face, until he’s giggling a lot like the baby wriggling happily on your chest. “happy birthday again, baby.”

As the week went by, another invitation from your friend, urging you to attend the grand masquerade ball that was about to happen in your city came. While the idea of such an event seemed both enticing and cumbersome, you couldn't shake off the feeling that it was a bit too antiquated for your taste. The thought of wearing a dress, adorning a mask, and dancing the night away felt like something that wasn't particularly aligned with you, especially on a weekend.
Nonetheless, it became increasingly difficult to decline your friend's insistence to join. You pondered over the idea, contemplating whether you could bring yourself to attend such a traditional event as the internal struggle continued and you weighed the pros and cons of going to this masquerade ball. After all, it was just for one night.
And now, here you were, standing before the grand doors of the old classic European building, wearing a borrowed dress from your friend. At least, the dress was a stunning masterpiece, its crimson hue setting you apart in the crowd even before you stepped inside. The off-the-shoulder style exuded both elegance and a touch of allure, while the voluminous skirt added an air of grandeur to your ensemble. The velvet material felt luxurious against your skin, the fitted bodice showcased your figure in a way that made you feel beautiful.
"Please, it's just one night," your friend said.
"I know it's just one night, but I still can't understand why you were so insistent on this," you replied.
"It's finally a big event in the city, and waiting until next year is just too long for me," she explained. "I promise I won't ask you for anything for the next... week." She broke into a giggle, trying to sweeten the deal.
"Alright," you sighed, giving in.
Her face lit up with a huge smile, and she practically bolted towards you, squeezing you in a tight hug that bordered on suffocating. You managed a small smile as you looked at her, reminding yourself that at the very least, her happiness was worth the discomfort of attending the event.
"Thank you for coming with me. You're simply the best," she exclaimed, releasing her hold on you.
"I wouldn't say the best, but I think we can manage to have some fun," you replied.
"Well, the important thing is that we're here together!" she said with enthusiasm.
"Yeah..." you replied, your enthusiasm not quite matching hers.
Adjusting the mask in your face, you took a deep breath, before your friend grasped your hand and guided you towards the entrance of the old building. The grandeur of the structure was undeniable – its vintage architecture; richly decorated walls and shimmering ornaments, with the soft glow of chandeliers spilled out from the entrance.
As you stepped in the ballroom, you were immediately greeted by the sounds of music that filled the air. The ballroom itself was a sight to behold, with couples twirling gracefully on the dance floor and guests mingling throughout the space.
Your friend's grip on your hand tightened as she led you further into the ballroom. "Isn't it amazing?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.
You couldn't help but smile in response. "It's certainly something."
Your friend's excitement was contagious; you were well aware of how much she loved attending such events. While you were enjoying yourself to some extent, it wasn't exactly your first choice for a weekend activity. But, it was fine, you decided to have a great night with your friend no matter what.
"I think we should get something to drink, what do you think?" she inquired.
"I think is a great idea to start the night," you replied, offering her a warm smile.
She led you towards the bar, where the two of you found a cozy spot on the balcony, overlooking the grand ballroom below. The soft glow of the chandeliers illuminated the dance floor, casting a magical ambiance over the scene. Placing your drink orders, you leaned against the balcony railing, your eyes drifting over the lively crowd below. The hum of conversations and the strains of music created a nostalgic and vibrant atmosphere. It wasn't long before the bartender returned with your drinks, and you reached out to take your glass, feeling the cool condensation against your fingers.
"Cheers," your friend said, raising her glass.
"Cheers," you echoed, clinking your glass against hers before taking a sip of the refreshing drink.
As you sipped on your drink and looked out at the crowd, your gaze came to rest on a figure who stood out from the rest. He exuded an air aristocratic and sophisticated, his presence commanding attention without any effort with his graceful posture and controlled movements. His attire was impeccable. The classic cuts of his dark elegant clothing, with the high collar that hugged his neck added a touch of drama to his ensemble. The cape draped over his shoulders lent him a slightly theatrical, gothic aura, setting him apart from the others.
His mask, a half-face creation, concealed part of his features while revealing one of his eyes. The uncovered eye allowed you a glimpse of his age, he was certainly older than you. Still, your curiosity piqued, and you found your eyes inexplicably drawn to him. You observed from a distance, taking in the subtle gestures, the occasional smiles, and the way he interacted with those around him.
Your friend nudged you, breaking your reverie. "See someone interesting?"
You glanced at her and then back at the figure. "Not at all, I was just looking around and got distracted."
You averted your eyes from him, focusing on the drink you held in your hand, taking a sip through the straw. Despite your attempt to divert your attention, your gaze sliding over to him from the corner of your eye. To your surprise, he had his eyes fixed on you now and it felt as if he were studying every nuance of your being. The way his eyes roamed over you, from head to toe, sent a shiver down your spine. As his eye locked with yours, you quickly averted your gaze to the drink on your hand. You took another sip of your drink, feeling the cool liquid glide down your throat, trying to ignore the fluttery sensation in your stomach.
His unwavering gaze was captivating, and the intensity with which he studied you seemed to tighten that grip on your stomach even more. You fought the urge to bite your lower lip, reminding yourself to maintain composure.
"It appears you've attracted an admirer," your friend playfully remarked, a hint of mischief dancing in her eyes.
"Really? Who?" you feigned innocence, as if unaware of the person she was referring to.
"That man over there, he can't seem to take his eyes off you."
A nervous chuckle escaped your lips as you attempted to downplay the significance of the situation. "Oh, come on. It's a busy event, people are naturally scanning the surroundings."
Your friend's nod was accompanied by a suspicious expression on her face, and you responded with a gentle yet nervous smile, hoping to convey your innocence. She returned the smile, seemingly convinced. Feeling relieved, you finished your drink, grateful that she seemed to have bought your explanation. As the two of you moved away from the bar, you couldn't shake the feeling that his eyes were still fixed on you, a sensation that accompanied you as you walked towards a table.
As you settled into your chair, a sense of relief washed over you, and you let out a contented sigh. Just as your friend was about to join you, a woman appeared by her side, extending her hand in a friendly gesture.
"Care to dance?" the woman asked.
Your friend's cheeks immediately flushed with a deep shade of red, the color almost matching the crimson of your dress. Your friend hesitated for a moment, clearly caught off guard by the unexpected invitation. She looked at you, seeking some kind of reassurance.
"Go for it," you whispered, giving her a playful nudge.
With a nervous laugh, your friend accepted the woman's hand, allowing herself to be led to the dance floor.
Left alone at the table, you took the opportunity to observe the room once more. Your gaze inevitably found its way to the mysterious man. This time, however, he wasn't alone. He was engaged in a conversation with a woman, prompting you to consider that he might didn't come alone to the ball.
As you watched them, you couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. It seemed that your friend were wrong; he wasn't looking at you, you didn't caught his attention. Perhaps he was simply enjoying the night, socializing with other guests, and his occasional glances were purely coincidental.
Lost in your thoughts, you almost didn't notice when someone approached your table. Startled, you looked up to find a man standing there.
"May I join you?" he asked, his voice smooth and deep.
You blinked in surprise before nodding politely. "Of course."
He pulled out the chair opposite you and sat down, his lips curving into a charming smile. "I couldn't help but notice you from across the room."
Heat rushed to your cheeks, and you lowered your gaze slightly. "Oh? Really?"
"Yes," he nodded. "By the way, I'm Benjamin," he introduced himself, extending a gloved hand towards you.
"Nice to meet you, Benjamin," you replied, shaking his hand gently.
Little did you know that from the moment Benjamin approached your table, the mysterious man had discreetly glanced your way again. His gaze lingered on you, his expression pensive and contemplative. The woman he had been conversing with seemed to fade into the background as his attention became solely focused on you and the conversation you were having with the man across from you.
"Did you come alone?" he inquired.
"No, actually, I'm here with a friend of mine. She's dancing at the moment," you explained with a chuckle.
"Well, that's good, because I've been hoping to ask if you'd like to dance," he replied, his hand extended toward you.
Before you could respond to his invitation, the man who had been observing you, approached your table but ultimately chose a different table, settling into a seat where he could continue to watch you from afar. You sighed in disappointment glancing in the direction of him. You turned your attention back to the man before you, grabbing his extended hand.
"I would love to dance, but I'm definitely not a good dancer," you admitted with a sheepish smile, allowing him to guide you onto the dance floor.
He chuckled softly. "Not a problem at all."
You and Benjamin stepped onto the dance floor, but, a shiver ran down your spine as you couldn't shake the feeling of his intense gaze fixed upon your back, leaving a sense of unease settled over you, as if you were being closely observed from afar.
As the music swelled around you, he took your hand and placed the other on your waist, his touch firm but gentle as he led you through the steps of the dance. You couldn't help but steal occasional glances at the man who had shifted his position. He still had his eyes fixed on you, but now, there was a hint of annoyance on his gaze. His annoyed look seemed to follow your every move, and you couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind.
The music changed to a slower, more intimate melody, and Benjamin pulled you a little closer, causing you to look at him. As you moved to the rhythm of the music, your attention was involuntarily drawn back to the mysterious man, whose fingers now clutched the fabric covering the top of the table with a visible tightness. His expression seemed to have shifted from mere curiosity to something more intense, his focus solely on you and your interaction with Benjamin.
"Do you know him?" Benjamin inquired, tracing the direction of your stare.
"Who?" You replied, redirecting your gaze back to Benjamin.
"The man you've been looking at."
You shook your head. "No, I've never seen him before."
Benjamin let out a soft laugh. "It seemed like you two knew each other, given the way you two have been exchanging glances."
Before you could respond, the music came to an end, and Benjamin guided you back to your table. Expressing your gratitude for the dance, your attention was momentarily diverted. However, your curiosity pulled you to steal another glance at the enigmatic man. Why was he so captivated by you? What was the purpose behind this peculiar staring exchange? And, perhaps more importantly, why were you playing this staring game?
Just as you were contemplating these thoughts, your friend reappeared at the table. You swiftly shifted your focus to her, a warm smile gracing your lips.
"So, how was your dance?" you asked, trying to sound casual.
She beamed, still catching her breath. "It was amazing! She's a great dancer. And she's actually really sweet too."
"That's great to hear!" you exclaimed.
"Now, what about yours? I definitely caught you out on the dance floor."
You hesitated for a moment, glancing briefly at the mysterious man. "It was... quite an experience."
You refocused your attention on your friend, yet the enigmatic man's actions lingered in your thoughts. His behavior was growing more peculiar by the moment – from his intense stares to what felt like a deliberate following of your movements around the ballroom. Why he hadn't taken the straightforward route of initiating a conversation left you intrigued and frustrated. As you sighed softly, the notion that your fascination might not be reciprocated by him crossed your mind, introducing a touch of uncertainty to the situation.
"What was that?" she inquired, catching onto your sigh.
"Oh, it's nothing," you replied, offering a small smile. "I suppose I'm just feeling a bit tiren from all the dancing, or maybe I've been overthinking things."
"I've got an idea that might lighten your mood," she began. "How about we grab another drink?"
Her suggestion drew a chuckle from you, and you nodded appreciatively. "Another drink does sound like a good plan."
With that, the two of you made your way back to the bar, where you placed your orders and leaned against the counter. The music of the event filled the air around you as you waited for your drinks. Lost in the ambiance of the ball, you found yourself watching people on the dance floor. The clinking of glasses and the sound of liquid being poured drew your attention back to the bar. You reached out to claim your drink, and then the two of you returned to your table.
"Oh!" your friend exclaimed. "I forgot to ask for a straw. Do you need one?"
"No, I'm fine," you replied with a slight shake of your head.
She rose from her seat and headed back to the bar. Suddenly, the man rose from his seat, adjusting his clothing, and began making his way towards you. Your heart raced, anticipation building. However, he came to a halt as your friend made her way back to the table, his uncertainty palpable as he seemed to grapple with the decision of whether to approach your table or remain where he was.
"Is there something on your mind?" your friend asked, noticing your distracted demeanor.
You sighed, taking a sip of your drink. "It's just... that man over there," you said, nodding subtly in his direction.
"Which man?" She looked around, scanning the crowd.
You leaned in, speaking softly. "The one behind you at that table, the one who's been staring at me."
She followed your gaze and let out a laugh. "Oh, you mean the spooky, mysterious type? He's been looking at you all night."
You rolled your eyes playfully. "It's not exactly flattering, it's kind of unnerving."
"Well, if he's been staring like that, maybe he's just too shy to come over and talk," she suggested.
"Shy or not, he's definitely making me uncomfortable," you admitted.
“He’s definitely intrigued by you,” she teased.
You rolled your eyes playfully. “Or maybe he’s just wondering why I keep looking in his direction.”
She chuckled. "Well, a little conversation never hurt anyone, right? Why don't you go over there and find out what's his problem?"
"If he's interested in talking, he can make the first move."
With a hint of annoyance, you crossed your arms and cast a pointed glare in his direction. However, he stood there, seemingly undeterred. Letting out an exasperated huff, you doubted he could hear your frustration, yet the intensity of his unbroken stare conveyed that the silent exchange might finally be reaching its conclusion. The man redirected his path, and you seized the moment to take another sip of your drink.
"You know what?" your friend interjected, her gaze fixed on the dance floor. "I think we should hit the dance floor again, I really want to dance again."
"Dance again? We just finished one, and I—"
Before you could finish your sentence, your friend grabbed your arm and pulled you up from your seat. You nearly stumbled and had to steady yourself by holding onto her shoulder. Both of you shared a laugh at the unexpected moment, and then she led you towards the dance floor where two lines were forming, with people on one side and another ones on the other, waiting for the next song to start so they could dance together. Your eyes traced the row of people in front of you, and at the farthest end stood he. For some reason, you found yourself yearning to be the one standing before him.
Your gaze shifted to the random partner who awaited you. With a small smile, you exchanged a brief, anticipatory glance. As the melody of the song swelled, your partner stepped forward, and you mirrored their movement with a graceful bow. They reached you, their hand found yours with a gentle grasp. Their other hand found its place on your waist, and together, you two began to move in sync with the rhythm of the music.
With each spin, perfectly synchronized to the music's rhythm, your partner changes seamlessly, whisking you away in a series of enchanting twirls.
The dance continued and the sensation of his gaze tracing your every movement intensified. With each twirl, you found yourself turning your head to catch his eyes, only to discover them unwaveringly focused on you. Twirl after twirl, his stare remained locked onto you, drawing closer with every rotation. Yet, just as you expected to find him in the next instant, he vanished from your line of sight.
Frantically scanning the surroundings, your eyes darted in every direction until the music reached its crescendo – and there he materialized, stepping in as your final dance partner just as you completed your last spin.
"Mi hai chiesto di venire e eccomi qui," the man said with a grin on his lips.
You looked at him in confusion, not understanding his words. However, before you could inquire further, he pulled you into a close embrace as a new song started. His gloved hands reached for your lower back and for your hand, holding you closed to him, almost pressing your bodies together.
The atmosphere shifts, and it's as if the world fades away, leaving only you and him on the dance floor. His strong yet gentle guidance leads you in a seamless dance, your steps effortlessly synchronized with the haunting melody. His gaze remained unwavering, focused solely on you, and his grip remained firm as he held you close. Despite the masked half of his face that concealed his eye, you found yourself unable to divert your gaze from his captivating green eyes.
He led you in perfect harmony with the music, twirling you and then drawing you in closely as the song played on. The finesse of his lead was such that you felt as if you were dissolving into his embrace. Your grip on his shoulder tightened, and you surrendered to the sensation, closing your eyes, letting him to steer you through the dance.
You surrendered to the comfort of his embrace, allowing your back to gently curve against his arm. Your neck arched back, baring its elegant curve, fully immersed in the moment as though you were ensnared in a spell within his arms. All you desired was to be completely enveloped in his presence, feeling his unwavering support in this instant, as if he would hold you regardless of anything else.
With the final note echoing in the air, you felt him guiding you toward the open space of the dance floor, his hold resolute. As you slowly opened your eyes, you met his gaze, his figure hovering above yours, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
With a practiced motion, he brought you back closer, his grasp secure around your lower back. Taking a deep breath, you tried to shake off the enchantment that had taken hold. Your head gave a subtle, almost instinctive, shake as if to break the spell that had woven itself around you. His hand found yours, and he delicately raised it to his lips, planting a soft kiss on your skin.
As the new melody filled the air, his hand gently found its way to your face. Anticipating another dance, you readied yourself, but instead, with a delicate motion, he shifted your hair, unveiling the vulnerable nape of your neck. Inclining toward you, he bestowed a lingering kiss upon your skin. The sensation of his pointed nose and the softness of his lips, accentuated by a mustache gracing the top of his upper lip, brushed against you, creating an impression of savoring your very essence.
"May I have a moment of your time, carissima?" he inquired, his voice a soft whisper close to your ear.
"Y-Yes," you managed to stammer in response.
He wasted no time in guiding you off the dance floor, leading you toward a discreet exit of the saloon. With confident steps, he ushered you to an empty balcony at the rear of the weathered building. The music's distant melodies faded into the background, leaving just the two of you in a secluded haven.
He turned to face you, his gaze intense. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as the night breeze rustled through your hair. His hand found yours, his fingers intertwining with yours as he held it gently yet firmly.
"I must admit," he began, his tone smooth yet tinged with a playful glint in his eye, "I've been wanting to talk to you since the moment you walked into the ballroom." He reached out, his fingers brushing a stray strand of hair behind your ear.
"Is that so?" you inquired, arching a brow in disbelief.
He nodded, his lips curving into a half-smile. "Infatti. I had quite a speech planned out, ma ore that we're here, it seems to have escaped my memory."
The confession caught you off guard, a mixture of surprise and curiosity flickering in your eyes. "Really? And why is that?"
He leaned in closer, his voice a velvety whisper. "Perhaps it's your captivating presence or this vestito cremisi of yours. Or maybe it's the simple fact that I haven't been able to take my eyes off you."
You felt a subtle warmth spreading across your cheeks at his candid words, his gaze holding yours with an intensity that made your heart race. "Well, I appreciate your honesty."
A sly smile curved his lips. "Ah, but I haven't just been admiring you from afar, I've been devising ways to approach you, hoping to catch your attention." His grin widened, and he leaned in slightly, his breath brushing against your ear as he whispered, "Perhaps you can help me fill in the gaps, carissima."
You raised an eyebrow playfully, appreciating his direct approach. "Are you asking for assistance in charming me?"
His eyes twinkled with uncertainty. "Is it working?"
You couldn't help but grin, with a playful chuckle on your lips. "Maybe a little."
"Ah, progress," he said, as if celebrating a small victory. "I've been practicing my 'smoldering gaze' for occasions like these, cara."
"Well, I must say, you're doing a fine job." You laughed, charmed by his candid confession.
He leaned a bit too eagerly and accidentally knocked into a nearby potted plant, causing it to wobble precariously until it fall from the top rail. "Eh!" he exclaimed, his eyes widening as he looked down at the broken potted plant on the ground. "It seems I'm not just a master of the 'smoldering gaze,' but also a true artist of goffaggine."
You looked down at the broken potted plant, as his self-deprecating humor made you laugh even harder. "A true renaissance man."
He grinned, scratching his head sheepishly. "A renaissance man that sometimes includes unintentional plant rearrangement, sì?"
"It's all part of your... allure," you chuckled, gesturing with your hands.
He let out a laugh, his eyes sparkling as he met yours. "Eh, sono contento di sentirlo. I must say, though, that breaking potted plants was not part of my grand seduction plan."
"Perhaps it's a new approach," you teased, "capturing hearts through horticultural mishaps."
He pretended to ponder this with an exaggerated expression, then shook his head with mock seriousness. "I might need to reconsider my strategy, sì?."
As he held your gaze, a comfortable silence settled between you, the unspoken words hanging in the air. The soft glow of the moon highlighted his features, and you found yourself captivated by him.
"So," you began, breaking the lighthearted atmosphere, "can I ask your name?"
"Ah, of course, cara!" he responded with enthusiasm. "My name is Copia."
"Copia?" you repeated, tilting your head to the side as you looked at him. "I've never heard a name like that before."
He chuckled softly, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "Well, I like to think I'm as unique as my name."
"It suits you," you replied with a gentle smile.
He bowed slightly in response, his manner almost theatrical. "Grazie, carissima. And may I have the honor of knowing the name that accompanies such a lovely smile?"
You introduced yourself, and a warm smile formed on his lips. As he took another step closer, your heart raced in your chest, the proximity making you feel a kind of excitement and nervousness. The heat rose to your cheeks as you met his gaze, feeling a bit flustered in his presence.
"A name as beautiful as its bearer," he echoed, his voice soft yet filled with a genuine warmth that seemed to envelop you.
His hand, still gently holding yours, radiated a comforting warmth that traveled through your veins, soothing the jitters that had taken residence in your stomach.
"I must admit, cara, meeting you has been the most enchanting part of this evening," he confessed, his voice a velvety murmur.
He got his face close to your neck, and a soft purr escaped your lips as you felt his warm breath against your skin. His lips hovered near your neck, but he hesitated, his intense gaze meeting yours. The vulnerability in his eyes was evident as he pulled back slightly, a hint of flustered surprise crossing his features. The soft sound you had emitted seemed to have caught him off guard.
"Mi... Mi dispiace," he stammered, a touch of uncertainty in his tone. "I didn't mean to... I mean, I got carried away."
You smiled, a reassuring light in your eyes as you reached out, placing your hand gently on his. "It's alright, Copia. It's okay. You can do it."
He looked at you, uncertainty and vulnerability mingling in his expression. "Can I?"
Your smile grew warmer, and you nodded gently. "Yes, you can... you can kiss my neck."
Copia's hesitation was palpable as he stared down at your neck. Sensing the uncertainty that gripped him, you took a subtle step closer, getting onto your tiptoes. Gently cupping his face with one hand, you guided his gaze upward until his eyes met yours, the distance between your faces now mere inches.
"Or... you could kiss me," you added in a whisper that seemed to echo the soft rustle of the night breeze. "If you want to, that is. I mean, it’s entirely up to you — we don’t have to, of course."
Copia's gaze shifted from your eyes to your lips, his desire and vulnerability palpable in the intensity of his stare. His hand found its way to your hips with a gentle, yet possessive touch. His other hand ventured upwards, fingers tracing the delicate curve of your neck. Slowly and tenderly, his fingers brushed against your skin, sending a shiver down your spine, until his hand settled at the back of your neck.
With a soft sigh, you closed your eyes, surrendering to the moment, as the warmth of his breath mingled with yours. The space between you dwindled, and his face drew closer, your heartbeats resonating in rhythm.
But before he could close the remaining distance between you two, the sound of your name being called reached your ears, a distant yet distinct interruption that caused Copia to step back from you. Your eyes fluttered open, the spell of the moment broken as you turned your gaze from him to the direction from which the voice emanated.
"There you are!" your friend's voice called out, accompanied by the soft patter of footsteps approaching.
You turned your attention toward her, leaving the balcony before she could catch you there with Copia. Is not that she couldn't see him, but you knew she would tease you about it later.
"I've been looking everywhere for you!" she exclaimed, concern evident in her eyes.
You chuckled, trying to appear nonchalant. "Sorry for disappearing."
She nudged you playfully. "Oh, come on, spill the beans! What were you up to out here?"
You shrugged, feigning innocence. "Just enjoying the fresh air."
She gave you a knowing look, but thankfully, didn't push further. Instead, she held your hands in a tight grip and gave you a big smile.
"Guess what!" your friend exclaimed, her tone brimming with excitement.
"What?" you responded, intrigued by her enthusiasm.
"Ok, but before I tell you, you have to promise me you won't say a thing about it."
You chuckled, giving her a playful nudge. "Of course I won't. Now tell me, what is it?"
"So," she began, "Freyja – you know, the one who whisked me away to dance as soon as we arrived – well, she asked me if I want to... go with her to another place, and I said yes, so..."
Your eyebrows lifted, your curiosity piqued. "So...? Don't keep me in suspense!"
"So I won't be able to go back with you. Is it okay?" she asked, a hint of concern in her voice.
You smiled reassuringly. "Of course! You have to go with her! This sounds like an amazing chance, and I can find my way back."
Her relief was evident in her expression as she hugged you excitedly. "You're the best! I knew you'd understand!"
She pulled away, a big smile lighting up her lips, before turning back to face the ballroom and waving in your direction. You watched her until she disappeared into the crowd. Taking a deep breath, you turned and walked back to the balcony.
"Copia, I'm so sorry for it," you began, your voice soft as you spoke aloud to the empty balcony. "It was just my friend, and she had some exciting news..."
Your voice trailed off as you arrived at the balcony, only to find that Copia was no longer there. The place where he stood was empty, it was as if he had dissolved into the shadows and you couldn't help but wonder where he had disappeared to.
You reached out, your fingers grazing the cold stone of the balustrade as you looked down. The empty balcony stretched before you, and the only thing there was the broken potted plant on the ground.
With a sigh, you leaned against the balustrade, your gaze fixed on the broken plant. The memory of his warm breath against your skin and the softness of his touch remained imprinted in your mind. The absence of Copia left you feeling a blend of disappointment and a lingering sense of wonder.
You shook your head and decided to return to the ballroom. Stepping away from the balcony, you navigated your way back through the bustling crowd, making your way to the door you had initially used to access the balcony. As you re-entered the ballroom, you scanned the area, your eyes searching for any sign of Copia.
However, it seemed that he had truly vanished. The ballroom buzzed with activity, created a joyful ambience. Yet, amidst the joyous ambiance, you couldn't shake the feeling that he had slipped away into the shadows of the night.
Resigned to the situation, you made your way towards the main entrance. As you reached the main entrance, you stepped out into the cool night air.
Before you could start your journey back home, a familiar voice called out from behind you – it was Benjamin.
"Hey! Wait!" he exclaimed, wavering in your direction. "You got missed, I was looking for you."
Turning around, you greeted him with a smile. "Oh, I left after the last dance to get some fresh air, and now I've decided to head home."
His expression turned concerned. "And you're going alone?"
You nodded. "Yes, my friend left the party with a partner, and here I am."
His concern deepened. "Please, I can't let you go alone at this hour to your home. Wait here, I'll go back inside to grab my coat. If you allow me, I'd like to accompany you."
You hesitated, uncertainty flickering in your eyes. "Ah... I'm not sure, but yes, I guess?"
"Alright, stay right here," he said before quickly making his way back to the main entrance.
You took a deep breath, watching as Benjamin disappeared through the main entrance. The cool night breeze seemed to whisper in your ear, urging you to avert your gaze in another direction. Your eyes turned to the balcony, a place where the evening had taken an unexpected turn with Copia. As you looked up, there he was, looking down at you from the balcony.
Your heart raced, and a mixture of emotions surged within you. Copia's mask was gone, revealing a face that seemed to shine in the moonlight. His eye glistened like a radiant moonbeam, captivating your gaze. You blinked rapidly, almost not believing your eyes, but it was undeniably him. Your lips parted in surprise, and your foot took a small step as if drawn by an invisible force. You were on the verge of calling out to him when the sound of footsteps approached you.
"Hey, I'm back," Benjamin said, walking towards you.
Your attention snapped away from the balcony, and your heart sank at the interruption. Copia's figure had vanished, leaving you with a whirlwind of emotions and questions. You offered Benjamin a smile, trying to push away the thoughts that had suddenly consumed you.
"Thanks for offering to walk me home," you said to Benjamin, masking the wistful note in your voice. "I appreciate it."
"Is my pleasure," he said with a warm smile. "Should we go now?"
You nodded, pushing aside your thoughts. "Yes, let's go."
Walking beside Benjamin, you turned your back to the old building. As you headed towards your home, you couldn't help but steal a glance back at the balcony, half-expecting to catch a glimpse of Copia once more. But he wasn't there anymore, and the only thing that accompanied you was the sound of your footsteps against the pavement, and the gentle company of Benjamin who had offered to walk with you. With a sigh, you refocused your attention on the path ahead, the sound of your footsteps mingling with Benjamin's as he walked beside you.
The walk back to your home was accompanied by an awkward silence that hung between you and Benjamin. Despite the reassurance of having someone to accompany you, the absence of meaningful conversation left a lingering discomfort. You were grateful for the company, yet your mind kept drifting back to Copia.
You couldn't help but wonder why your thoughts were so fixated on a stranger. Why did you feel an unexplainable longing for his presence, even though you barely knew anything about him? The memory of his strong yet gentle touch, the intensity of his gaze, and even his moments of clumsiness replayed in your mind like an unending loop.
But it was the almost-kiss that lingered most vividly in your thoughts. The closeness, the anticipation, and the way time seemed to stand still in that fleeting moment – it had etched itself into your memory.
After a few minutes of walking, you finally arrived at the door of your house. You retrieved your key from your small purse, your fingers gripping it as you turned to face Benjamin.
"Thank you for coming with me, Benjamin," you said, offering him a grateful smile.
He returned your smile, his eyes warm. "Of course, anytime. It was my pleasure to make sure you got home safely."
You nodded, a sense of gratitude and relief washing over you. "Well, have a good night, then."
"Are you not going to invite me to enter?" Benjamin's voice broke through your contemplations.
You turned to face him, a faint smile touching your lips. "Why would I?"
He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Fair point. Maybe another time then."
You nodded, appreciating his understanding. "Definitely. Thank you for walking me home, Benjamin. It means a lot."
"Anytime," he replied with a warm smile. "Have a good night."
"Good night," you echoed, watching as he turned and walked away.
You entered your home, and closed the door behind you with a deep sigh. You slipped off your shoes and made your way to the living room. With a sense of relief, you unzipped your dress, letting it cascade down to the floor. The fabric pooled around your feet, and as you stood there, you allowed yourself a moment of solitude, the quiet of your home enveloping you.
You made your way to your bedroom, reaching for your bra to remove it. The sensation of being free from the constraints of formal attire was like a weight lifting off your shoulders. With a sigh, you unclasped the bra and let it slide off your shoulders, your back arching slightly as you stretched.
You were on the brink of crawling into your bed, ready to let the day's events settle into the background of your mind. Just as you reached your bed, you were startled by the sound of your doorbell echoing through your home. Your footsteps echoed as you made your way towards the door, a robe quickly found its way around you, and you prayed that it wasn't Benjamin again.
"Look, I appreciate what you did for me but now is not the best moment," you said, with a hint of annoyance on your voice.
As you opened the door, your heart racing. Your initial assumption that it might be Benjamin was quickly shattered as your eyes widened in astonishment.
A grin formed on his lips, and his voice was smooth as he spoke, "Oh, mi dispiace, cara. Were you expecting someone else?"
Before you stood Copia. Did he follow you to your house? The thought tumbled through your thoughts, leaving you bewildered and a touch anxious. You couldn't help but wonder if he had walked behind you and Benjamin the entire way. If he did, why? What was his motivation? Your heart raced as you tried to gather your thoughts.
The silence lingered between you for a moment, a thousand questions dancing on the tip of your tongue. As you met his gaze, you noticed he e wasn't wearing his mask by then, allowing you to finally glimpse his complete face. Bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight, his green eye shimmered, but it paled in comparison to the radiance of his white one, a sight unlike anything you had ever seen before.
"I... I didn't expect to see you here," you finally managed to say.
A playful glint sparkled in his eye as he regarded you. "Ah, I suppose I have a knack for surprises, sì?"
"I... um, what brings you here?" you asked, your curiosity getting the better of you.
"I hope I'm not intruding," he said with a half-smile.
"No, you're not intruding," you replied, your curiosity getting the better of you. "But... how did you know where I live?"
Copia's smile widened slightly, and he tilted his head in a manner that seemed almost conspiratorial. "Let's just say I have my ways."
"And by ways, you mean... follow me?" you inquired, raising an eyebrow in playful skepticism.
A playful glint danced in Copia's eyes as he leaned against the doorframe, his demeanor a blend of confidence and charm. "Perhaps not in the most conventional sense, but I wanted to make sure you got home safely, cara."
"Well," you looked around your living room and let out a light chuckle. "I guess I'm... safe?"
Copia's laughter joined yours, a warm and inviting sound that echoed in your ears. "Safe is a relative term, sì?"
As you leaned against the doorframe, crossing your arms, you raised an eyebrow at his cryptic comment. "Is it, now? What do you mean by that?"
He met your gaze with an intensity that sent a shiver down your spine. "Safety can take on many forms, cara. Sometimes, the most dangerous things are the most tempting."
You couldn't deny the underlying tension that had woven itself into the atmosphere. Copia's eyes held a depth that was both alluring and mysterious, and you found yourself drawn further into him.
"Are you implying that I should be cautious around you?" you asked, your voice tinged with a hint of playfulness.
A spark of amusement danced in Copia's eyes as he stepped closer, the distance between you shrinking until it was almost nonexistent. "Beh, cara, I'll leave that for you to decide."
You nodded, your gaze locked onto his eyes. Just as you were about to reply, Copia interjected with a soft chuckle. He gracefully moved away from the doorframe, giving you a gentle smile that held a touch of reassurance.
"I'm just kidding, cara," he said, his voice a velvet caress that seemed to fill the room. "I promise not to bring any kind of danger into your world."
"Yeah, you're a danger only to potted plants after all," you teased him, giggling.
Copia's laughter joined yours, the tension of the moment giving way to a lighthearted exchange. "Eh, sì, my eternal struggle against potted plants," he replied with a mock sigh. "It's a battle I fear I'll never win."
You couldn't help but chuckle, but a soft blush as Copia's hand gently cupped your cheek, his touch both unexpected and intimate. The warmth of his hand against your skin sent a shiver of anticipation down your spine, and you found yourself drawn into his gaze once again.
"I must repeat," Copia began, his gaze turning thoughtful, "it's not every night that I find myself in such charming company."
You felt a warmth spread through you at his words, a genuine smile touching your lips. "Well, it's not every night that a mysterious stranger decides to follow me home and confesses to being a potted plant menace."
Copia's eyes danced with amusement. "Giusto, cara! But, I hope you know that my intention is to ensure your safety."
"I appreciate that," you replied softly. "But I assure you, I'm quite capable of taking care of myself."
"I don't doubt that for a moment," he said, stroking your cheek with his thumb. "I know you can take care of yourself, cara," he removed his hand from your face, taking a step back. "I should be on my way," he said, his voice carrying a note of reluctance. "You are safe here, and it's time for me to leave."
"Thank you for your company and for making sure I'm safe."
Copia's gaze held yours for a lingering moment. "Until we meet again, cara."
With those parting words, he turned and walked toward the door, his presence fading into the night as quickly as he had appeared. As you closed the door behind him, you found yourself leaning against it, your heart racing and your mind swirling. The encounter with Copia had been both exhilarating and surreal, leaving you with more questions than answers.
Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes, allowing the stillness of the moment to wash over you. The memory of his touch, his voice, and his piercing gaze lingered, leaving an indelible imprint on your thoughts. You couldn't help but wonder if you and the mysterious man named Copia would really meet again.
