coming home drunk after a long and eventful night out with your girlfriends to osamu miya, who already has your bed ready with a glass of water on your nightstand. as he hears you fiddling with your keys outside the front door, he hops up from the sofa where he was watching tv and waiting for you to finally arrive home. you stumble through the door in your drowsy state and he quickly leans down to assist you in taking off your heels so you don’t trip over your own feet.
“welcome back hon’,” he greets you softly. he places his hand on the small of your back and guides you to the bathroom, where he already has a fresh pair of your favorite pajamas ready and laid out on the counter. he lifts you up and sits you down on the edge of the smooth granite top, getting micellar water and a cotton pad to take your makeup off. what was once a beautifully put together look now dawns your face with runny mascara and caking foundation, but he still finds you stunning nonetheless.
“did ya have fun?” he questions as he begins gently removing all of the gunk off your face.
you close your eyes and let him work his magic. by now, he’s remembered your skincare routine, and always makes sure to lay out your bottles before you return home so he can get you ready for bed as quickly as possible. maybe it’s just extra relaxing in your drunken state, but it feels like he does it better than you. “yeah, i had lots of fun! we danced a ton, and i got tons of compliments on my outfit from my friends!” you respond happily, but your voice lacks articulation and has an underlying hint of grogginess from your exhaustion, making it a bit hard for him to understand your words.
he smiles amusedly, a barely audible chuckle escaping his lips. “that’s good, ya do look gorgeous.”
he finishes wiping off your makeup with the micellar water, placing the bottle on the counter and discarding the cotton pad in the trash. he moves on to washing your face thoroughly with face wash before moisturizing your skin.
“i can take care of myself. you must be tired having to stay up for me,” you comment.
he shakes his head, voice soft but firm, “i wanted to make sure ya got home safely. plus, yer clearly too worn out to properly take off yer makeup. i doubt ya would’ve done it yourself. and ya should never go to bed with it on, ya know?”
“i know, i know.”
he gives you a nod, satisfied with your answer. he lifts you up and back onto the ground, “turn around for me hon’.”
you comply, and he slowly unzips your dress, letting it fall to the floor. you step out of it, and he helps you put on your pajamas.
“feelin’ better now? a lil’ more refreshed at least, i hope.”
“yeah, i feel much better.” his lips tug into a small smile at your words. he grabs the brush on the counter, holding it up, “come sit. i’ll brush yer hair.”
osamu guides you to the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed and patting the space in between his legs. you sit on his lap, staring tiredly at the wall ahead as he begins to soothingly run the brush through your hair. the way he ever so gently runs the bristles through your locks is calming. even simples acts of domesticity like these show how much affection and love he has for you, and the way he takes care of you on any and every day conveys more than any words can.
“all done,” he murmurs quietly as he finishes, placing the brush down on the sheets beside him. he runs his fingers gently through your brushed hair for a minute, a comfortable silence falling through the room.
you let out a tired yawn, and then he’s reminded of the task at hand, “let’s get ya to bed now. ya need all the rest you can get.” and with that, he pats your back to tell you to stand up, guiding you to your side of the bed. he helps you to crawl under the covers, tucking you in and making sure you’re comfortable. he tenderly hands you the glass of water he had prepared, making sure you’re holding it steadily before letting go. “take these. and drink all the water. it’ll help ya with yer hangover in the morning,” he instructs, picking up two painkillers and handing them to you.
you pop them in your mouth, downing the glass of water with them. he takes the empty glass from you and sets it back down on the table. then, he smooths out the blanket and presses a quick kiss to your forehead, his voice a low whisper, “goodnight sweetheart. sleep well, m’kay?”
you nod incoherently, clearly drained. he walks around to the other side of the bed and joins you under the sheets as you drift off to sleep.

hello hello! hope your well^^
For the mini holiday event,
[Octavinelle, 2, Comedy]
Is that OK? If your inbox is flooded w requests, feel free to skip mine, though!
it's completely fine! i'm having so much fun with this event so don't worry about it!
Kitchen Nightmare || Floyd Leech
For the Holiday Event! || Theme: Cooking/Baking together ; Genre: Comedy
Tumblr media
You should’ve known better than to trust Floyd in a kitchen.
“Floyd, what are you doing?”
Floyd’s standing at the stove, humming an off-key tune with the most ominous grin you’ve ever seen. His sleeves are rolled up, there’s an entire octopus dangling from his hands, and the pot on the stove is bubbling ominously like a witch’s cauldron.
“Cookin’,” he chirps, completely unbothered. “What’s it look like, Shrimpy?”
“It looks like you’re summoning a sea monster.”
“Even better! We’re havin’ octopus stew!”
You freeze. “Floyd, Azul's an octo-mer”
“Yup! That’s why it’s extra funny.”
Before you can question that logic, the door creaks open, and in walks Azul. He takes one look at Floyd’s wild grin, the bubbling pot, and the suspiciously large octopus carcass being stuffed into it headfirst. The sound of Floyd’s cackling fills the room like background music to a horror movie.
Azul pauses mid-step. “...I’ll come back later.”
He turns and backs away so quickly, it’s like you just caught him fleeing a crime scene.
“Azul, wait! HELP ME!” you yell, but he’s already gone.
Floyd snorts, clearly pleased. “Heh, Boss is such a scaredy fish. S’not like it’s his cousin.”
You gape at him. “Is it your cousin?!”
“Nah,” he says cheerfully. “But wouldn’t that make it more exciting?”
“Floyd, that’s disturbing.”
He doesn’t answer, just stirs the pot like the unhinged chef he is, muttering things like, “Nice and tender~” and “This’ll be so good it’ll knock your fins off.”
Your survival instincts kick in. “You know what? I think I’ll stick to sandwiches.”
“Nuh-uh, Shrimpy!”
You don’t even have time to blink before Floyd’s behind you, one arm wrapped around your waist, the other waving a spoonful of ominous-looking stew in front of your face like it’s some sort of prize.
“Come on, just one bite~”
“Floyd, I will scream.”
“Oh~ Then I’ll just make you louder.” He’s grinning way too much for your liking, and you’re pretty sure he’s not letting go until you try the stew.
“Fine! FINE!” You swat at the spoon, grabbing it from him with an overly dramatic sigh. “But if I die, I’m haunting you.”
He lets you go with a triumphant hum, leaning way too close as you hesitantly bring the spoon to your mouth. You close your eyes, fully prepared for disaster.
And then—
It’s
 good.
You freeze mid-chew. Your brain can’t even process it properly. “Wait a minute.”
Floyd beams. “Told ya it’d knock your fins off!”
“Floyd, what the hell—this is actually delicious.”
“Right?!”
You stare at the stew like it’s personally betrayed you. “No. No way. There’s no reason it should taste this good when it looks like that.”
Floyd’s grinning so wide you’re worried his face might split in two. “Guess I’m just a natural-born chef, huh?”
You glance at him, then back at the spoon, and then back at him again, spiraling into some sort of crisis. “I don’t understand. This is unfair. I was ready to mock you for life.”
“Guess you’ll have to praise me instead,” Floyd sing-songs, rocking back and forth on his heels. “C’mon, admit it, Shrimpy! I’m amazin’!”
You sigh, dramatically collapsing against the counter. “I hate that you’re good at this. I’m so conflicted.”
Floyd cackles, shoving another spoonful toward you like a proud toddler. “Here, eat more! I made enough to feed, like, the whole ocean.”
“I’ll eat it, but I refuse to compliment you further,” you grumble, accepting the bite begrudgingly.
Floyd’s grin only widens as he watches you eat. “You’re so fun to mess with, Shrimpy~”
And for once, you can’t even argue with him.

Yes, I do (BSD x Reader) 2/2
🌾 Characters in this chapter: Dazai (Mafia), Ango, Ranpo and Yosano.
🌾 Spoils: knowing the background of Dazai, Ango and Yosano is more than recommended to be able to read their parts.
Ango's part is rather long, for which I clearly got carried away...
This was a request from someone else on AO3, who wanted me to add a second part to the existing one on the characters' marriages with the reader. I hope I have fulfilled my part of the bargain properly, and I wish you an excellent read! ^^
Tumblr media
Dazai (Mafia)
- If there is one thing he could never have foreseen, despite all his talents, it was his own wedding.
- Of all the people who nearly spit out their drinks when they heard the news, the most surprised was Dazai himself. But he could not resist the idea of living with you for the rest of his life, so... Ta-da, a wedding!
- Even though he had mountains of money at the time, he really only needed three people for this very special day (not counting the one who is marrying you, otherwise it is going to be complicated): Ango, Oda, and of course... You. The star of the show, the person who gave him a new perspective on life.
- And the person who gave him the strength to continue fighting against his existence that was so unkind to him, until he met you.
- He also taunted Chuuya for many weeks, telling him that, of course, animals were not invited to his wedding...
- And Chuuya would simply reply that he did not necessarily want to see such a thing (and that he was not an animal, for God's sake!!). But our Chuchu cannot ignore the fact that, deep down inside, somewhere, jealousy is showing its face at hearing that this idiot Dazai is getting married...
- Nor can he deny that he feels an immense wave of pity and compassion towards you.
~
Ango
- With his mania for doing things in the right order, it was hardly surprising that, a few years after you had become a couple, you ended up getting married.
- For him, marriage has a very important and symbolic meaning: it is the consecration of your life as a couple, the irrefutable proof that you want to continue living together.
- So, when he proposed to you, he was in the grip of immeasurable anguish... But when you said yes, he could have sworn he heard angels singing.
- If he is still in the Mafia, his wedding is obviously taking place with his two closest friends, as well as your friends and family, in simple intimacy.
- If he is gone back to work for the government, it is your relatives and his colleagues, especially his boss, who are obviously invited.
- Without knowing whether or not he will come, Ango has also sent an invitation to Dazai, his heart full of hope but also of remorse for the past, which will not leave him alone even for such an event.
- During the ceremony, you notice that Ango is sometimes slightly distracted, with a glint of sadness in his eyes... At first, you do not really understand why; is he regretting all this?
- But when you look at him a little more closely, you can deduce that he seems to be looking for someone among the crowd of guests... He soon returns to the present moment, however, and enjoys it as much as he can; without, it seems, having succeeded in finding the person he is looking for.
- It is only when you are dancing that your now-husband's gaze settles on something, before he widens his eyes, followed by a gentle smile and a relieved expression.
- And, as you spin in time with the music, and find yourself face to face with that person Ango had been staring at just seconds before... You cannot help but smile in turn, as you discover a brown-haired young man, covered in bandages and dressed in a black and white suit, leaning against a wall with a glass in his hand, standing in the background.
- His head is bowed, masking his eyes; but you can still make out the slight smile he is wearing, reminiscent of Ango's a few moments earlier.
- A smile that is in no way inferior to the one he gives you as the music ends, followed almost immediately by a tender kiss he places on your lips, thanking you with all his being for choosing to share his life and his future.
~
Ranpo
- A wedding? Honestly, he does not really see the point: you do not need that to show you love each other, do you?
- So, obviously, the idea will not come from him, but from you. He is not against it, far from it! If it pleases you, then he will gladly play along.
- But his opinion on marriage changes dramatically when he realizes something crucial.
- It is simply a golden opportunity, giving him a ready-made, unstoppable excuse to eat sweets at will. And Ranpo has no intention of skimping on quantity, or he would not be called Ranpo.
- In fact, a good quarter of your wedding budget was spent on cakes and sweets.
- The wedding itself went off extremely well; prepared largely by you and your colleagues (notably Kunikida, for better or worse...), but also by Ranpo, who help you with enthusiasm.
- The only downside, at the end of the evening: Ranpo is slumped over in a chair, moaning in pain... Alcohol? No, far from it...! It is simply the beginnings of the aftermath of eating too much, which can only mean one thing: great wedding night ahead!
~
Yosano
- Everything is going wonderfully well, in a serene and happy atmosphere, full of laughter and joy.
- Not to mention, of course, the moment when Yosano almost rips the head off a certain young man covered in bandages, who had the extremely good (bad) idea of coming to the wedding intoxicated with hallucinogenic mushrooms.
- Despite this little incident, everything goes on as if in a dream... A feeling all the more exacerbated when the cake is brought in.
- At that moment, Yosano cannot hold back an expression of intense surprise; the cake is indeed covered with magnificent and detailed butterflies made of sugar, a true work of art for anyone with even the slightest appreciation of beautiful things.
- She did not order the cake, so she is not responsible for this... When she turns her head towards you, still speechless, the smile you give her says it all: you know her past, the importance of the butterfly that permanently adorns her hair, what her ability looks like...
- In a word, you know how crucial butterflies are in her life. And to see that you have moved heaven and earth to find someone capable of creating these magnificent sugar butterflies, to see that you have willingly incorporated an extra part of her, that she did not even remember possessing, into this true symbol of marriage...
- Finally, her last barriers were overcome, and she threw herself into your arms, thanking you in a low voice... And shedding a few tears, too, well hidden in the hollow of your shoulder.
- She never thought it possible... But you have managed to make this very special day, for both of you, even more perfect and unforgettable than it already was.

Writing Traumatic Backstories
Hello,it's me again! Sorry for dissappearing, I wanted a short little break from Tumblr. Obviously, I should have clearly communicated that fact instead of just going cold turkey!
From @differentnighttale : "How do I write characters who deal with severe trauma and pain with sensitivity and understanding"
Obviously with our topic today, there is going to be mentions of traumatic events and such. I won't go into any graphic or specific details but I just wanted to make it clear with a trigger warning
Since this lovely asker is specifically asking about sensitivity, I won't be addressing other related concerns about writing trauma but just focusing on this clear sensitivity! GET READY CAUSE THIS IS LONG!
Step One: Specificity Is Everything
You need to understand that various different traumatic instances will have their own different reactions based around various different incidents depending on what exactly happened and how many times it happened.
In general, the more times something happened, the more likely it would be leave an imprint. Obviously this is an oversimplification for the sake of an explanation :)
For abuse situations and other person vs person situations:
Consider the relationship your character has with this abuser! Is it obsessive? Neglectful? Don't just say it was a bad relationship! Describe to yourself what behavior and attitude specifically made this an unhealthy situation.
Did the abuser use any repetitive imagery? Did they use a specific tool most often? Did the abuse center on something specific? This can help guide you towards what can "trigger" this character!
What are the long-term affects this abusive situation have on this character? Did it make them question and distrust their self-worth, their safety, their identity, their body, their stability? Anything?
Was this abuser always bad? I don't mean in the "good person gone bad" route! I mean "is this character always abusive"? Most abusers aren't horrible 24/7 and can have their better sweeter moments. This often leaves their victims confused since the victims know more then anyone that this person wasn't just plain evil.
For natural disasters and accidents:
Where is the blame? Is it nature herself? Themself for not being careful enough? A real legitimate person who genuinely caused this accident? An imaginary individual that had no relationship?
What is the specific fear that this situation ignites? Is it this crushing feeling of isolation as they were suffering with no expectation of help? Is it the realization that life is out of their control which keeps them awake at night? Is it the chaos of that day? The fear of regret? The fear of death?
Answering these questions can often illuminate different ways to approach a character's traumatic backstory in unique and interesting ways. It also highlights potential coping mechanisms for your character.
Step Two: What Exactly Is Trauma's Effect On The Brain?
Remember: The following analogy is an oversimplified explanation of trauma. Afterward, the science explain-y part will come in :)
Imagine that the brain is an archive system. It gathers memories and puts away those memories under certain files. Then, the traumatic event(s) happen. Suddenly, the brain is unable to properly understand this. This causes the boss prefrontal cortex turns off. Now, the assistant is forced to take over. This assistant doesn't know what to do so they just do what they always do! Unfortunately, this fails to pacify the threat. And now the brain is mixing up all of the trauma's documents in an effort to just shove it into a filing cabinet. It doesn't work. Now everything new that arrives in needs to try and work through the trauma documents which are taking up the place!
SCIENCE PART!
During traumatic events, the "fear circuity" is activated. This causes the prefrontal cortex or the "decision-maker" to function less effectively. This causes a person goes into auto-pilot mode where they follow social habits.
This is why a person in a traumatic situation will sometimes engage in polite behavior with their abuser in an effort to "save face" as they typically do in social situations!
These events often physically mpact the brain! Specifically, in relation to learning and survival!
Advice In Order To Avoid Common Tropes:
Trauma is a highly complicated subject that is highly individualized and messy. But here are some "no fly" lists which often lead to traumatized characters appearing inauthentic and real traumatized people insulted.
Don't solve trauma in one conversation or one event. Working through trauma is ultimately about "moving on" in the sense of constantly moving forward but not leaving the trauma behind.
Don't romanticize certain coping mechanism. Oftentimes, media will have a hypersexual girl who learned to be hypersexual for trauma reasons. But this character doesn't exist so we can understand them. They exist for sexual appeal and tragedy brownie points.
Only include traumatic events if you can handle exploring them. If you aren't willing to deal with the implications of a certain backstory or serious mid-story event, don't write it in there.
Don't make it entirely resolved by the end. Recovery isn't about learning to "get rid" of the affect trauma has on someone. It's about working with those issues so you can learn to not drown in your issues.
Don't make the journey linear. Have your character relapse into bad unhealthy behavior. Make them have to struggle to relearn the same lessons again and again. It'll make the journey far more interesting and realistic.
Don't make bad coping mechanism black and white. Bad coping mechanisms were necessary once upon a time. They are good tools that have lived past their usefulness but they aren't illogical or evil.
Don't excuse bad behavior. Traumatic backstories offer an explanation of a character's behaviors but it doesn't make a character's actions okay.
They aren't just traumatic backstory. Oftentimes, they only thing we ever learn about a character is their deep issues and facade. But real traumatized people aren't just defined by the bad things that happen to them. They had dreams, goals, and friends that aren't pure tragedy.
They are people. While people are definitely defined by their trauma, don't make them think only of their trauma. People with sad backstories aren't more special then people who don't. They have stupidly weird behaviors, they have hobbies that aren't related to their issues. Don't make them think of just the bad stuff.

The Great Wave - Chapter 7 Review
‌SPOILERS FOR THE CHAPTER‌
Warning(s): unhinged behavior, fat shaming, unnecessary use of foul language, osamodas slander
This chapter made the stupid decision to edge me.
We come back to Yugo having an episode from the poison he just drank and he is going through it hard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My guy is coughing up blood, eyes are turning red, body is shaking like a mad man, screaming in agony, and his wakfu antlers are even going crazy

Tumblr media
To top it all off, he’s now having a series of igniting explosions because of the dofus residing in him. Like you can’t make this shit up, my guy is literally creating explosions from the inside out. Look at the damages.
Tumblr media
(damn, amalia is carrying this whole banquet. look at her saving these ppl what a queen ✹)
Which clown decided it was a good idea to poison a demigod in charge of six dofus and expect nothing abnormal or deadly to happen?????
Oh yeah, the blue-skinned cows.
I don’t care what anyone says. The osamodas family was in charge of the poison attempt, I don’t care if it was that Sadida woman’s idea since it’s obvious she’d know more about poisoning. The osamodas are at fault, the osamodas king told Aurora that they should wait and let them enjoy this last happy occasion. He also told Aurora that they knew about the marriage but weren’t invited?? Come on, they’re clearly at fault here!! They’re the ones who told the Sadida servant to do something about it and she improvised! But what these two bozos didn’t know, was how it would backfire on them. This is stupid to think about because they KNEW Yugo wasn’t a normal person. Poisoning Yugo is like trying to poison a deadly cobra. Or in this case, A FUCKING DEMIGOD. Either way, you’re gonna get jumped.
Like, OF COURSE Yugo’s gonna have a freakout and fuck shit up when his body had been messed with a deadly substance.
OF COURSE, he’s gonna hurt a lot of people around him if he’s around anyone.
OF COURSE, he won’t fucking die cuz of his divinity status.
OF COURSE, he’ll start ruining the kingdom these two fucking dumbasses want for no reason.
You can’t make this shit up.
These two are so bad at being villains, they don’t even know what the fuck they’re doing to people they don’t bother knowing more about. They don’t even know who their target is.
After understanding what kind of poison Yugo drank, which was the belladone, we now know why Amalia knew what was in the cup. She probably recognized the smell of it.
Tumblr media
Amalia: “Adamaï
The belladone is the worst of poisons
”
According to how she describes it, this poison is so deadly that it kills the person or animal who drinks it in under ten seconds. The victim first drinks it and then foams at the mouth before collapsing and dying.
We’ve seen the same thing happen in another era of the World of Twelve and that was back in the Cire Momore backstory which was an event around the Dofus era.
The daughter of a queen tried poisoning her for all the suffering she’s endured and had the help of a painter to do it.
Tumblr media
Gustave (painter): “I found the berries at the exact place you indicated.”
Princess: “Perfect. Do not forget to carefully wash your hands. The belladone is highly toxic.”
Based on this passage alone, we’ve learned that the belladone are purple berries that are so toxic, that they can even damage you if you don’t properly wash your hands after you pick them.
After that, during the banquet, the princess secretly poured the poison into her mother’s wine. But just before she could drink it, her dog suddenly jumped at her, causing her to drop the wine, which made the pet drink it from the ground instead.
Tumblr media
The results were exactly what you expected to happen.
Once the dog drank it, he foamed at the mouth and collapsed, immediately dying from the drink.
So when we compare this instance to what happened to Yugo, we can see a huge difference.
Unlike what happened to the dog (or any mortal), Yugo is still standing but is terribly shaking, coughing blood, and having an episode. His body is trying to get the poison out of his system by coughing but his body is still alive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only thing Yugo can say while in this situation is “It hurts”. My guy is in severe pain but he’s still breathing, I don’t think anyone in the history of the krosmoz has ever taken the poison like this, let alone a divinity of all people.
Tumblr media
Yugo: “Sor
ry. The
pain.”
Bro even has the time to say sorry while kneeling on the ground and holding his stomach. He’s literally at death’s door, grasping for life, his body trying and struggling to reject the poison, and he still finds the time to apologize for something that wasn’t even his fault.
What a chad.
Tumblr media
Amalia: “Yugo
He should already be
”
Adamaï: “My brother isn’t like everyone! He possesses the six primordial eliatrope dofus, if he manages to take hold of himself, then he can take it
”
Even Amalia is shocked that Yugo is still breathing. But AdamaĂŻ over here is telling her that he WILL survive this if he can perfectly control it with the eliatrope dofus.
And we all know how that ended up for him the last time he used them

So AdamaĂŻ flies in and takes Yugo away from the banquet before he actually hurts somebody.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adamaï: “Yugo, you have to focus. Or else you’ll destroy your kingdom or end up killing someone!”
But bro is not listening cuz the second AdamaĂŻ pulls him up, dude just overcharged himself before exploding AGAIN.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
JUST LOOK AT THE DAMAGE!! THAT LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE A CRATER!! You can even see how perfect the circle looks from this shot.
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the moment you’ve all been waiting for.
AMALIA FUCKING GROWING SOME BALLS AND JUMPING ON THE OSAMODAS.
Nah cuz this scene was what we needed! THIS was the moment we wanted to see ever since that blue-skinned woman started breathing in front of our screens!!
As soon as Yugo caused another explosion, this was it for the stupid clown ‘royal’ family. They signed their death sentences and Amalia is fed up with their bullshit.
Cuz trying to make her marry one of their relatives, being disrespected by them while her brother did nothing, getting told to leave her home and kingdom, being told that she should be replaced, sure she could manage all that.
She can take it. But seeing her husband being poisoned like that on the same day that a wedding was supposed to happen AND having the osamodas randomly being there to witness it, was the last straw before she finally fucking snaps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She had just lost her whole family in a short period, she wasn’t going to lose her husband to some clowns.
(Also what the fuck were they thinking of poisoning her husband when she had already lost so much?? Did they really think this whole thing wasn’t going to backfire on them??? What a bunch of amateurs.)
Tumblr media
And look at them just standing there looking đŸ˜źđŸ˜±đŸ˜±đŸ˜±đŸ˜§đŸ˜ź LIKE OF COURSE SHE WAS GONNA KILL Y’ALL, YOU BOTH LOOK LIKE THE ODD ONES OUT HERE ‌‌
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They even looked caught off guard when they saw Yugo causing explosions.
You got Aurora over here with her dumb ugly bat pet looking all shocked, covering her mouth as if she was surprised to find out her dad’s shenanigans wouldn’t work. And then you got animal king over here realizing he fucked up.
And right when they get confronted for their repetitive bullshit, they see literal death looking back at them with the most bloodthirsty eyes they had ever seen before.
Amalia’s so pretty in this shot ready to rip them apart đŸ„°đŸ„°
Tumblr media
Like yes queen, cut them to pieces, we’re about to have a barbecue đŸ€€đŸ€€
As soon as they get caught red-handed, that’s when they suddenly turn soft and act like victims.
Tumblr media
Fatty: “Stay back my daughter, this girl has lost her mind.”
“StAy bAcK mY DAUghTEr, ThIs gIrL hAs-“
Shut yo dumbass up little boy you knew something like this would’ve happened stop playing with me.
He’s over here acting like a random passerby when a second ago he told Aurora that they should wait a little more for something to happen.
So when he gets cornered by the very same girl who he had disrespected and ignored in Season 4 and wanted to be replaced so his useless trophy daughter can take the throne, now she’s suddenly “lost her mind”???
Fuck you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amalia: “YOU MONSTERS! I WAS READY TO CONFIDE YOU MY KINGDOM!”
Fatty: “I don’t know what you’re imagining, girl, but
”
That useless fat fuck KEEPS PLAYING THE CARD VICTIM EVEN WHEN SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BLAME HIM.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME????
WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM?!!?
She has EVERY RIGHT and he’s over here HEARING HER say that she was ready to give him the kingdom but this fatso is too high up his own ass to hear her cuz he’s still delusional and telling her he didn’t do shit. Even when she was this close to giving it to him, this guy was not budging from the victim card.
If I could spit at anyone in my life, it’d be him. What a sad excuse of a man. I bet my own kidney Chibi can take him in a fight.
This is literally my favourite panel of this WHOLE volume so far.
Tumblr media
Amalia: “You poisoned my husband.”
I love it so much â€ïžâ€đŸ”„â€ïžâ€đŸ”„â€ïžâ€đŸ”„â€ïžâ€đŸ”„â€ïžâ€đŸ”„â€ïžâ€đŸ”„â€ïžâ€đŸ”„
LIKE YES FUCKING KILL THEM RIP THEM APART THEY’RE JUST STANDING THERE LIKE PROCESSED MEAT READY TO BE CUT‌‌‌‌
DO IT ‌‌‌‌‌
I just love how the more Amalia becomes enraged, the more her speech bubbles tremble and shake, implying that she’s slowly but surely becoming more unhinged and losing it.
Tumblr media

I PRAY that these poor excuses of antagonists DO NOT appear in volume 2. The chapter cover of the tenth chapter only features the Sadida servant who poisoned Yugo and she looks completely calm, almost like Yugo’s explosions and Amalia and Aurora’s fight have calmed down.
SO PLEASE TOT PLEASE DON’T PUT THEM ANYWHERE ELSE ANYMORE.
Seasons 3, and 4, and the great wave’s first volume are already enough. So cut it out. Let me have a day where I don’t get a migraine just thinking about what kind of dumbassery these fake osamodas will do in the next chapter.

Too Pink for me- Logan Howlett +18
chapter 05: My soul
Tumblr media
Feeling like you're always at the bottom of the conversation, as distant as a footnote in an educational book that nobody pays attention to—how long can you endure that? And then... how much pain can it cause?
_________________________________________
The view of the facilities alongside Logan could be likened to a ride in some dubious safety vehicle at a small summer fair. A whirlwind of emotions that is difficult to process due to the speed at which you're experiencing them. Yet, Rosellina couldn't consider her encounter with the Canadian a failure, as getting along with him, even marginally, felt like a step forward. At least he had the courtesy to show her the attic, despite clearly not wanting to be there. She could easily accept Ororo's words about their troubled relationship: "Logan is just like that."While that might be true, Rosellina wouldn't have bought into the excuse if those perceptive eyes hadn't seen how differently Logan behaved when that red-haired woman appeared. His rocky phrases softened in her presence, as if he wanted to caress her with his words when he spoke to her. From what Rosellina could observe before feeling intrusive, Logan seemed like a different person. Those eyes showed a man drowning in his own longing.
A couple of knocks on the door snapped the Italian out of her trance. How long had she been lost in her thoughts? She realized she had been sitting at the vanity, brushing her hair repeatedly while drifting through memories. Her eyes sparkled as she turned toward the wooden door, eager to see who her visitor was.
"Come in, Rogue."
She set the brush down on the table before standing up to greet her new friend properly.
"Storm was right; you've got almost x-ray vision!"
Rogue wasted no time in joking as she entered Rosellina's room. The playful smile she wore was infectious, and Rosellina couldn't help but catch that energy.
"I don't know if I'd go that far; I can only see every once in a while. I'm still working on controlling it," Rosellina confessed, feeling a bit embarrassed about not fully mastering her powers.
The occasional involuntary glimpses worried her; she feared she might see something she wasn't supposed to.
"Well, I'll need a demonstration later of what you can do. But..."
"You want to know what happened with Logan."
Rogue let out a small laugh at Rosellina's spot-on interruption, caught red-handed.
"You could say that every student in this school has an honors degree in gossiping; you can't blame us," she replied with feigned defensiveness, not feeling the least bit ashamed of wanting to know more. "Some of them even have doctorates."
Rosellina bit her lip lightly. Where did she get such imagination? She couldn't hold back a small laugh at the thought of such a thing.
"Are the teachers included?" the Italian asked curiously, inviting Rogue to sit with her on the bed.
"Hank is the one with the doctorate in that subject."
Rosellina's eyes widened at the idea that Hank might be the example of what the school expected in a new school year. And she had a feeling she and Logan would be the latest topic in those tabloids.
I honestly didn't expect Hank to top the list.
Rosellina thought as she realized how quickly certain events could become the latest episode of a morning soap opera at this school, hungry for fresh drama.
"So? How did it go?" Rogue leaned in closer to Rosellina, who looked at her hands for a moment.
"He openly said he hates me."
"What?"
There was a long silence as Rogue digested the bombshell Rosellina had just dropped. She knew Logan was gruff and had a bad attitude toward anything unfamiliar; she knew that perfectly well. Still, she thought it was just a matter of getting to know this girl a bit better to soften his fiery barrier, but it only seemed to intensify. She clicked her tongue in frustration at not understanding these emotions, though, admittedly, she found Logan's combative attitude somewhat amusing—it was almost childish. But, of course, beyond what she found funny, she knew that Rosellina probably didn't feel the same way.
"Please forgive him, he's... a difficult person," Rogue apologized on Logan's behalf, looking at her with a sympathetic smile. "But I can assure you that he's—"
"I know."
Rogue was taken aback by Rosellina's firm response, cutting her off before she could finish.
"He's a good man," the Italian said, lifting her gaze with a smile that seemed unshakable.Another silence settled in.
"I've seen it..." she murmured softly, almost to herself. Those memories of Logan looking at Jean confirmed what Rogue was trying to defend. "Even when he didn't seem to want to be there, he guided me. Maybe he was forced to, but, well... it wasn't that bad. Honestly, I don't feel attacked by him. He must have his reasons, right?"
She looked at Rogue, seeking approval for what she was confessing.
Rogue remained silent. She didn't want to justify Logan's behavior, but she didn't want to condemn him outright either. At least, not until she could offer some sort of timeline that might help her to know what to say or do. After a moment of hesitation, she nodded, smiling slightly at Rosellina's kindness, how she continued to see the good in Logan even though she had every reason to return his coldness. Yet, she still seemed to hold out a place for him. In that moment, she felt Rosellina's fingers lightly touch the fabric of her gloves. Rogue, caught up in the fear of past traumas, quickly withdrew her hand.
"I'm sorry," Rosellina hurriedly apologized, guilt washing over her for letting her curiosity get the better of her. "I thought they were just a unique accessory of yours."
Rogue forced herself to calm down as she noticed the frightened look in Rosellina's eyes, seeing the innocence and curiosity there. She looked away for a moment, a sad smile curling her lips.
"You didn't do anything wrong, Rose," she assured her without making eye contact. "It would be nice if it was just like you thought, a cute quirk."
The emerald-eyed woman observed her, realizing she had wandered into sensitive territory.
"Why do you wear them?" she asked. Of course, she was prepared to wait as long as necessary for an answer, and she'd respect it if Rogue didn't want to talk about it. "You don't have to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable, Rogue."
Rogue took a deep breath. Every time she recounted her story, it was like reaffirming the tragic reality her powers carried. She even considered it a curse. Talking about it was an exercise in facing it, trying to live with it over time.
"Every time I touch someone, that person could lose their life."
That confession, laden with pain and sorrow, left Rosellina speechless as she looked at her.
"My powers are based on absorbing the life energy of living beings. In the case of mutants, I take their mutation too. If I touch them briefly, it only lasts for a moment," she explained while staring at her gloved hands as though they were the greatest misfortune she had ever encountered. "But if the contact continues for too long, that person would die, and I'd be left with their powers." She paused for a moment before continuing. "I almost killed Logan once because of it... and I almost killed a boy I liked, just because I wanted something every girl wants—a kiss."
She laughed, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. It made her feel sick to talk about this; the only good things in her life seemed to have been meeting Logan and coming to the mansion.
"I thought that coming here would make me feel better, but sometimes... I just see people with such amazing abilities, who can be close to those they care about, who can touch and feel without fear," she said, as a small tear ran down her cheek.
Rosellina watched her, her heart aching for the deep isolation Rogue was drowning in.
"Don't get me wrong, no one here has ever made me feel bad or like a freak; they've treated me very well, but..." She paused, taking a deep breath to hold back the flood of tears. "That doesn't stop me from feeling alone in this pain, from feeling... like I've been cursed rather than blessed."
Is this what hell looks like among the living?
Those thoughts crossed the Italian's mind.
"People don't need to touch paintings to understand their meaning or appreciate the beauty within them."
Rogue's eyes widened as she looked at Rosellina in surprise. Those words touched something deep inside her.
"The best paintings don't need to prove their interpretation to anyone; that always lies in the eyes of those who view them freely. Beyond the longing within solitude, what people feel towards it, if they truly love and care about it, must go beyond the physical."
Rosellina spoke, her gaze fixed on the floor.
"Those who show true interest will see beyond their desire to touch and will seek joy in what they can see over time, beyond what appears on the surface."
Rosellina lifted her gaze towards her, her eyes showing a rather intense glow.
"Please, don't feel bad for not being able to touch anyone; that will never measure the love people feel for you. Words..." That feeling that her father's letters generated, few words they were, but they filled her heart. "They also have power..." She couldn't feel his warmth, but the way he spoke about her made her feel loved.
"Can touches be irremediably sincere?"
Rogue looked at Rosellina, memories of the situations she had witnessed flooding her mind. Like Logan and Jean, for example—Logan's sincere words always showed what he felt without needing physical contact, while Jean's touches towards Logan seemed to be just that, lacking sincerity, at least in her eyes.
"I don't think that... we need to feel with the body, shouldn't we love the soul, right? Beyond the physical."
Rogue felt herself breaking down while listening to her; she took a deep breath, looking at her. No one had ever sympathized with her about her gift; she always heard that she had to live with it.
"Rosellina, you..." Rogue barely said, because it felt as if Rosellina saw beyond just walking in her shoes. Rogue finally shook her head, looking at her as tears rolled down her face. "I would like to at least..."
Her voice cut off when she felt Rosellina's hands, she lowered her gaze and saw her own hands uncovered. She saw how the Italian's hands held hers, her heart sank yet also filled as if it wanted to burst. Not only was she seeing her bare hands, but she could feel it in a certain way, a kind of warmth, as if Rosellina was trying to replicate the human touch.
How was it possible that she wanted this? She looked into the Italian's eyes, seeing their shine. In that moment, she understood where her ability lay and what she was capable of. Of all the gifts she had known.
"Rosellina..." She barely managed to whisper.
She couldn't remember the last time she saw her bare hands holding someone else's.
"It must be hard... I don't want to see you suffer. It leaves me with a void, let me at least, in our time together, help you see this little illusion..." Rosellina squeezed her hands and looked at her with a small smile.
Rogue remained silent as the tears fell like a waterfall. She looked at Rosellina and then at her hands between hers, that touch, all of it was in her mind, but still, she felt a sensation that gave her life. Rogue closed the distance to give Rosellina a gentle hug.
"Thank you..."
She sobbed against her shoulder before pulling away and drying her tears. She couldn't even stop smiling, laughing awkwardly while still crying.
"You're a good person."
Good person...
Rosellina felt the water running down her cheeks, like rain falling without warning during a completely sunny day. That rain that falls even when the sun is high. Rogue looked surprised at her reaction.
"Rose?"
"I'm glad... to know that." She barely managed to say, her voice trembling as she lowered her head.
Rogue watched her shoulders tremble, her body giving everything not to succumb to the sobs.
"It's... the first time I have a friend. It's the first time I've shared my little routine with someone..." The words came out as tears fell onto her lap. "It's supposed to be normal for everyone... It's... Warm. I like this feeling..."
《Can someone who has lived with nothing from the start, without realizing they needed it, truly long for something?....》
"I've never had anyone, but... I feel like now, I just... want friends." Rosellina looked up at Rogue as tears slipped from her beautiful eyes. "Can we...?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Rosellina felt her heart stop at Rogue's sudden seriousness. "Don't hurt my feelings, weren't we already friends from the beginning?"
Rosellina's eyes widened even more in surprise, her pupils trembling with emotion. Her lips quivered slightly at that question, a question that ironically served as an answer to what she was going to ask. Her heart pounded like furious waves crashing against the rocks. She felt like she could barely breathe as she watched Rogue stand up, wiping her tears. She could hardly move, only watching her.
"You need to have your first night sneaking into the kitchen, trying to avoid the others from catching us."
She nodded with a light laugh before looking at her.
"Huh?... Sneak... for food?" Rosellina barely responded, not understanding. The previous excitement had left her unable to form a complete sentence. "We've... already had dinner."
At her confusion, Rogue smiled even more, shaking her head.
"Ice cream, Rosellina, ice cream. Bobby makes a masterpiece when we sneak in at night. It's your turn to experience the thrill."
The Italian watched as her friend grabbed her wrist and pulled her, making her get up from the bed and head straight for the door. It was late at night, they should have been asleep, but there she was, following Rogue with bare feet, wherever she was leading her on a little late-night adventure to the kitchen.
"But... Rogue!"
The cry was swallowed in her voice, and there were still traces of her earlier tears in the dampness of her cheeks, burning red.
"I'll introduce you to the group, they wanted to meet you, let's hope we don't get caught!"
She cut her off before turning around, speaking in whispers and light giggles, looking at her with a smile.
"Come on, Rosi, you'll have fun."
Rosellina didn't even put in an effort to stop the girl from pulling her along. Eventually, she let out a smile, feeling the tears still trying to come out. She felt that electric energy as they ran down the halls, searching for Rogue's group.
That girl, who had never felt these emotions, was now intoxicated by them. So addictive, like giving color to an old painting forgotten in the attic.
________________________________________________________
If we had grown up in the same place, we surely would have been friends.
I think, one way or another, we were destined to be.
Can you see beyond my soul?
I think I can live beyond touch.
Teach me more, my dear Rosa.
Rogue.

Confrontation's of One's Views. The Kenix & Yi Ha-neul dialogue. Word count: 1637
"Clearly, you do not understand just what you're getting yourself into." Yi Ha-neul said with more anger to his tone, seemingly done with this conversation as a whole.
Everyone at the corporation have not been doing all that great these last few weeks - even more cases of the Curse breakouts happening across the world, more exploration missions in the Outskirts being assigned to the Order and of course, the increased risk of falling down the path no one would even wish upon their arch nemesis. With the amount of work everyone had to put in, trying their hardest to do their part, it was no surprise that the stress levels across the entire company were higher than usual.
"Oh? So now, I cannot even propose an idea on how to deal with the latest events that have been plaguing everyone's thoughts like a reoccuring nightmare?" Kenix retaliated, not even him wanted this to continue any longer. The situation was dire, nobody had the patience nor the nerves to handle this for any longer.
However, the higher-ups at the corporation seemed to barely care at all for their current state. As long as everyone was doing their job properly, they disregarded the Order's current troubles as if it was all just a speck of dust on one's shoulder. So taking matters into your own hands was the only way to do anything about in an effective way.
"Your proposition is simply absurd. Going out in the Outskirts on your own for the sake of getting the exploration missions done is just a death wish. Do you even hear yourself when you talk?" Yi Ha-neul was becoming even more fed up with this. To him, it felt like he was arguing with a wall. There was no way getting through Kenix's head.
"I wouldn't make the proposition in the first place if I didn't think about it first. As a matter of fact, I believe you are the one who is deaf to your own words." The tension was rising. Neither Ha-neul nor Kenix could put up with this any longer, but Kenix insisted on being allowed to deal with it directly by himself.
And as the highest in position amongst all of the members of the Order, Yi Ha-neul simply could not let him meet certain death out there. After all... Kenix was still the strongest in the entire crew, and by letting him roam free in the Outskirts meant losing an important part of their team. To lose someone important to you.
"Then why won't you let me help you? For fuck's sake, you are simply putting too much danger onto your own shoulders!" Ha-neul exclaimed with more concern rather than his frustration with Kenix.
"Perhaps it is because I am aware of my limits and what I am personally capable of, without needing the supervision of another." Kenix seemed to act more rational between the two in terms of emotion with his signature smile on, but you could ever-so-clearly hear that hint of bitterness in his words that anyone could easily miss.
"You cannot just do this and expect everything to go in your favor, don't you have any comprehension of what you're about to do?!"
"I don't need you to dictate to me what should be next course action, I can take full responsibility over what happens!"
"It is obvious that you won't be able to do it all by yourself, nor should you!" "And why is that?"
"Because you're far too important, Ephai—!"
Both Yi Ha-neul and Kenix stopped dead in their tracks. Oh dear lord, he did not just say that last part out loud, right? Has he really just called him by their name? Despite how long it has been since their death? Despite how long they've been absent for?
A moment of silence, awkward and terrifying silence. This slip-up managed to catch both of them off-guard, but Kenix was the first to recover. And oh boy, was this turning into a nightmare-come-true on Yi Ha-neul's end of the conversation.
Now back with his usual smile, there is that sense of unhingedness and frustration in his facial expression. Even if Kenix is incredibly talented at keeping up a specific act in any situation, there is now something in him. Something that of a small hole, a crack in his usual attitude.
"Oh? Ahaha, don't tell me you truly just called me by their name." With annoyance in his tone, it is now Kenix's turn to be in charge of the flow of this conversation. Slightly giggling at Yi Ha-neul's mistake, he took advantage of this opportunity to bring him down. "Now, what is it that you see in me that got you like this?"
No, this is no longer just a conversation. It is a confrontation of Yi Ha-neul's views. A man who hid many secrets from the rest, a "saint", a devoted warrior; becoming the one who is being interrogated now.
".. It is nothing that should be of importance to you." With a slight crack in his voice, Yi Ha-neul has tried his very best in this exact moment to cover himself up. An attempt to hide away the moment the situation becomes a little too much to handle at once; his immediate defense mechanism.
But it is far too late, Kenix has found his weakness. Ha-neul's one and only weak spot.
"Don't try to lie your way out of this one, o my dear brother. For we are all aware of what you truly think.. Yes, it is indeed fascinating coming from you." A hint of maliciousness and superiority in Kenix's voice. He finally found the opportunity to speak up about this matter, to Yi Ha-neul exactly. And Kenix is not going to waste this chance.
"How long has it been since Ephai has been dead? You say that you have moved on, but I have noticed how you gave me those nervous, frankly even terrified looks since the start." Kenix's expression shifted into something that Ha-neul could only describe as a soul-piercing glare. It didn't register as a condescending look, but it wasn't not that either. "You see that person who has long been gone in me. You see them in everything I do, and it scares you. I could always tell, just by looking at you back."
Now, there was nothing to hide himself in, no neat little box to fit himself into, for Ha-neul has been cornered with no way out of this moment. He had to face these allegations head-on, there was simply no other way. But it is like there is an obstacle in his path.
A feeling that there's something in his throat. It is blocking him and his words from being vocalized; an inability say anything back to Kenix. For he has just been consumed by terror, realizing that if he were to explain himself - he'd have to reveal his own tricks. His own set of cards, full of secrets he swore to never show to any living being. Silence was the only answer Ha-neul could give, but his facial expression may have been a telling point about what he actually had on his mind more than he'd like it to be.
"Aw, and now would you look at that? You are not even able to cover yourself up in this moment." Now, Kenix's feelings about this somehow became more alarmingly clear. How strange, a man who has created such a specific and delicate caricature of an identity has started to crack that act himself. It is a sign, a very obvious indication of how much contempt he holds for Yi Ha-neul's views on him as a person.
Yes, it has been finally revealed that in his eyes, Kenix is not someone else. He is not his younger brother whom he had cared for before, no longer the same person that he had cherished, he is something to be projected onto. The vision of Yi Ha-neul's only true friend being placed upon Kenix's image, nearly completely overriding his already existing identity. And Yi Ha-neul didn't even notice that himself, oh how great.
"Perhaps it is true that you see that person in my actions and mannerisms. But I cannot blame you for that..."
".. No, not at all. I understand why you feel this way, Ha-neul." There had appeared a subtle sense of tenderness in Kenix's words, albeit fake in Ha-neul's eyes. With his eyes closed and his signature grin, like he is the winner of the argument, he intended to come closer. But Yi Ha-neul simply couldn't deal with this for any longer. This confrontation is too much for him to handle, not even mentioning the mental weight of having to unpack and dissect why he had these views in the first place. Ha-neul has fled from responsibility, yet again.
Before he could leave the room and close the door behind him, he was stopped by Kenix's hand on his shoulder. Suppressing every muscle in his body to stop himself from flinching at the gesture, he was met with one final thing Kenix had to say to him.
"But before you go, allow me to ask one last question - for what reason have you made Ephai the one who shan't be spoken of?"
"Was this decision done purely out of spite, because they are the reason you are stuck down here with us all?"
Asshole, that was two questions, and far too sensitive ones at that too. There are just a lot of things Yi Ha-neul would have to reveal, too much actually. Without even sparing Kenix a glance back, he brushed off his hand and left the room. The office was now filled with dead silence, tense and uncomfortable silence.
... Perhaps, Kenix's proposition would be approved next time. When the time is right.

Note
hello, apologies if you have talked about this before, but how do i stop letting my worry/anxiety for my immediate female family members and friends consume me? i am pretty insecure when it comes to my own safety, and sometimes even get mental breakdowns while on commute (even if nothing particularly alarming has happened) simply because i cannot stand the sight of men around me. i have been like this since i was a kid (like 3 years old), always worrying about my mother and my sister, sometimes even more than myself, but of course it has only gotten worse as i grew up and started becoming more aware of the world around me. i am still in my teens so i can guess it gets worse from here. the intensity tends to wane and wax but lingers all the same. the catch is that while on a logical level, i can see clearly how hypocritical women are when it comes complaining about abusive men but still latching onto them like moths to a flame (my mother has done this too), but on an emotional level, i can't help but gaf. doesn't help that my sister shares my views and doesn't want anything to do with men either, so i feel for her even more. how does one cope in a situation like this
Hello, I do not think I have spoken about handling the prospect of danger before and, to be completely upfront with you, there is no one easy answer to this because your worry concerns people other than yourself and we cannot always convince them to take the same precautions we would take ourselves to ensure our own peace of mind. While I would have a much easier time addressing your concerns in regards to your personal safety alone, my question is, why do you think your anxiety is as extreme as it is? My immediate guess is that you subconsciously feel that you would not be able to effectively cope with the consequences of losing a relative — be it severe grief or the loss of financial aid from your family — and, in that case, the solution would be to work on being able to handle that.
This is a personal anecdote, but I used to experience anxiety as a teenager myself, much of which, among other things, had to do with my physical safety; I felt horribly insecure about my interests as well and would often deny myself the things and activities I considered pleasurable. Frankly, I could see this paranoia persisting well into my adulthood if I had not discovered the concept of cause and effect, and learning to understand that events do not occur at random and that one is relatively safe in the world if they are not abusive themselves will forever be my ultimate guidance for anyone with a concern for their safety, even though I will never advocate for fully lowering one's guard and always try to supply people with additional advice in case it feels insubstantial.
Speaking of insecurity, it was dreadful to be going through it alongside quite severe anxiety, and, because I had too much concern for what people thought of me and was too self-hating to properly engage in my hobbies to make myself feel better, I found myself slowly adopting an 'if I am going to die, I might as well do it' attitude to lessen at least one of those things for myself. This mindset is something I keep turning to to this day whenever I feel existential dread creeping up on me while still having things to try out and enjoy, and I find that the universe will put me in distressing situations or even instill paranoia to further prompt me to make the most out of my life — which could, also, very well be the case for yourself... My advice for you is to use your anxiety to propel yourself forward in terms of hobbies, interests and personal expression because, if you do feel like extreme danger is imminent, at least you will have gotten to be fully yourself.

Secrecy and Deception Chapter 31
Fighting Abroad (Wattpad | Ao3)
Table of Contents | Prev | Next
Event: U.S. Marines sent to the Dominican Republic to “fight Communism”
Location: Miami, State of Florida, United States of America
Date: April 28, 1965
“Florida, you can’t do this!” Puerto Rico protested in a rare use of English when the two of them were alone. Florida gritted his teeth, shaking his head. Why didn’t he get it? Why was Puerto Rico protesting this so much?
“I’m doing it to protect our family, you know that,” Florida reasoned, trying to keep his voice calm and steady.
“By violating Dominicana’s rights?” Puerto Rico asked, his voice angry.
“There’s a civil war. I’m going to help,” Florida said, turning to look at Puerto Rico, “I don’t want to lose anyone else.”
“This isn’t a war that would kill her, you know that. You’re only getting involved because the government thinks Fidel Castro is behind it, and since you couldn’t invade Cuba, you want to invade Dominicana,” Puerto Rico argued. Florida shook his head.
Why didn’t his brother get it? Puerto Rico was older. He should understand. Communism was a sickness, a plague that their brother Cuba had already fallen ill to, a corrupting disease that stole their brother away from them.
Florida didn’t want it to take anyone else away from them. Why wouldn’t Puerto Rico see that?
Didn’t he care?
“I want to protect her,” Florida said. He might be long since estranged from the Spanish side of his family and never properly met this countryhuman of the Dominican Republic, but Puerto Rico and Cuba both loved her and thought highly of her due to her brief stint returning to being a Spanish colony.
Puerto Rico wouldn’t fight. Florida knew this, so Florida had resolved to fight for him. He wished
he wished his brother would see that instead of throwing this fit over everything.
“You can’t protect anyone by returning to gunboat diplomacy. They’ll just see you as a bully, and that’ll just push more people to the USSR’s side. They will want protection from you, and he’ll provide it,” Puerto Rico said. Florida shook his head.
“You’re wrong,” Florida said, even though a small part of him knew that Puerto Rico wasn’t entirely wrong.
But they would see the good eventually. They would learn that it was aid. Besides, Florida was going to help end a civil war, and he knew how awful those were. Dominican Republic would be grateful that the war would come to an end.
“Am I?” Puerto Rico asked before he shook his head. “Aye, mi hermano, ÂżquiĂ©n eres tĂș ahora?”
At Puerto Rico’s sentence, Florida began to feel his blood boil, anger rising up within him. How dare Puerto Rico assume he was someone new, someone colder and less forgiving because he wanted to help their family?
Florida’s hands clenched into fists.
“I am someone who clearly cares more about our family than you!” Florida declared, marching forward and jabbing a finger into Puerto Rico’s chest. Puerto Rico’s eyes widened, and he took a step back as Florida continued to rant.
“I care about Cuba, about Dominican Republic, about our family, because I haven't ever forgotten what we went through together, and I know that you all deserve what support I can give. And when Cuba was with us, talking to us, it was nice, and we were los tres hermanos, and it made us all happy, and we felt young again, and now Cuba
” Florida’s voice broke, “And now Cuba’s on the USSR’s side, and we might never
things might never be the same again. And maybe I don’t know Dominicana, but you hold her in high regard, you care about her, so I want to do something to help her, to protect her, since you won’t. I don’t want you to lose someone else. So why are you making me the villain?”
“Florida,” Puerto Rico began, his voice soft, some strange emotion on his face, “This isn’t the way to do that.”
Florida’s hands became fists again. Puerto Rico still didn’t understand? He still didn’t care?
Did he ever care about Dominican Republic? About Cuba?
Or had Florida just misinterpreted things again?
“You don’t care about them, do you?” Florida asked, trying to force down his tears as he turned away, not wanting to see any expression on Puerto Rico’s face.
“Florida, I—”
But Florida quickly left the room, not wanting to hear whatever argument Puerto Rico had.

Event: US expands involvement in Vietnam
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States of America
Date: July 28, 1965
District of Columbia shouldn't have been surprised by the announcement. It was obvious that with the new power granted to President Johnson after the Gulf of Tonkin incident that the conflict with Vietnam would only grow.
But this? Oh, this made her worried.
The draft call being increased from 17,000 a month to 35,000 a month was sure to cause anger among their people. District of Columbia knew that because most of her siblings and her father were not eager to fight in the Vietnam War (although her father hadn’t fought at all since his injury in Okinawa, so consumed by politics).
President Johnson justified it by saying that they needed to intimidate the communists into submission, but sending more and more men to die in Vietnam didn’t seem like a good way to go about it.
They
District of Columbia knew that it wasn’t a good idea.
She had been told to remain silent about that. The men—the things—District of Columbia shook her head, trying to keep her thoughts away from those memories. Thinking about it never helped her. It just made her anxious and worried, and that wasn’t something she needed right now.
She wanted to support South Vietnam. Of course, she did, but
people grew tired of war eventually. Especially in a war they didn’t choose to fight in.
District of Columbia’s thoughts turned back to the draft. Would she and her eligible siblings be called to fight? Would they be a part of the draft as well?
District of Columbia didn’t know. Things had changed so much in a few short years. She didn’t want to think about what the future held.
She didn’t want to think about all the ways things could go wrong.
Because right now? It was hard to think of things that would go right.

New Chalco Yong and Ikora Rey Lore!! Major Hidden and Vanguard Update!!
Okay, so, this lore entry doesn’t really spoil anything for this season (tho it does take place after the beginning of this season), so you can read it, with one minor spoiler of Chalco tracking someone (but they don’t say who). The lore entry is on the “Mirror Imago” smg. And boy oh boy, are Chalco Yong fans eating good this season! Here is the lore entry, so you can read it if you want:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The big reveal! Zavala is asking Ikora to take on more responsibilities from the Vanguard, which will mean Ikora has to step back from the Hidden. And which of her many Hidden does she choose to become the leader? Chalco Yong. Out of anyone, this makes the most sense. Chalco has clearly been in the Hidden for centuries and she is one of Ikora’s most trusted members. Chalco usually is involved in the background with major events (she followed Crow on the shore during Season of the Hunt, she was looking into Nefeles Stronghold which turned out to be Neomuna, she was looking into the resurrection ritual the hive were doing after the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon, she helped research what could cure Mithrax of Nezarec’s curse long before episode: Revenant, etc). Chalco and Ikora Chalco and Ikora are also really good friends, and they are very open about being honest with each other and things that are happening. They are possibly in a queerplatonic relationship (maybe more. Chalco/Ikora/Eris have a very “It’s complicated” sort of relationship). I think Eris is also a major choice for this, but I don’t think Eris would want the role (and she is too important in her understanding of the Hive to be tied up being the hidden leader).
The other major detail that is super interesting is Zavala stepping back a bit. Like, in this lore entry, he isn’t stepping down from being Commander/Titan Vanguard, but I feel like he is getting ready to do so. At least giving up the position of Commander to Ikora most likely. I can’t see this happening for years, but perhaps Bungie will expedite this a bit, so we see this happen within the game (like how I didn’t think Bungie would make Crow Hunter Vanguard so soon, even though it was obvious they were going in that direction with his story.) I think the bigger question is who would be Titan Vanguard if Zavala stepped down? None of the titans who we see with character models really seem like they’d fill it. Osiris and Saint have helped a few times with the Vanguard when Ikora and Zavala haven't been able to, but I can't see Saint coming back permanently. Sloane is partially Taken now, and we know that isn’t getting any better. Shaxx is busy with Crucible. Saladin is now on Caiatl’s council. Maybe Bungie will just have Zavala step down from Commander and give it to Ikora, but he stays Titan Vanguard.
So, those are the important lore implications from this entry. I can’t wait to see where they go with this! Also, one minor thing, I think Bungie will eventually give Chalco a proper character model and put her in the game. It might be like Micah-10, where she only appears in her armor, and we don’t really see all of her. And I think with all the lore we have gotten for Chalco and now even making her the Hidden leader, I think Bungie will do a Hidden themed update/expansion and Chalco Yong will be properly introduced to everyone besides us lore nerds.
But now it's time for me to gush over my favorite ship (Ikora Rey and Chalco Yong)! I just love Ikora and Chalco’s dynamic, even if we have gotten so little of it. Chalco coming back, a muddy mess from her mission, undoing some of her clothes and just sitting down next to her partner. Also, Chalco being a complete drama queen saying she's gonna quit the hidden and never talk to Ikora again and Ikora calling her out! Like no, Chalco cannot stay away from Ikora Rey and they both very much know that. I also wonder how long ago Chalco was rezzed, and how long she has been friends with Ikora. Chalco had the line “Damn, Ikora, first you give up fieldwork, then you pass on the curse to me?” She’s clearly being playful with it, but I wonder if they worked together in the past (like, before the creation of the Hidden/Ikora being made vanguard). All the lore we have gotten of these two is in the present day; we haven't seen them in the past together. And yeah, I do wish we would get more of that. Personally, I headcanon that Wei Ning, Eriana, Eris, Chalco, and Ikora were all on the same fireteam, and were friends for centuries (we at least know Ikora has worked with Wei Ning because they were fighting together during a particular fight against an Ahamkara during the Great Hunt). I just want Bungie to give us more lore about Chalco and Ikora. Also, also, Chalco saying, “I’ll make you proud, boss” and Ikora responding with, “You already do
boss.” Like, omg, just let them kiss already, Bungie!

Marriage Counseling: When Should You Consider It?
People often have a misconception that marriages are a test or a trial but it’s not so, a marital life is the starting point of a new chapter and a new life. Two individuals join hands for a future with one another. Pre-marriage counselling is advised to build a strong foundation for a marriage. Consulting an expert counsellor will make them understand each other and their expectations, values, and concerns much better. When problems emerge in the middle of a marriage, counselling guides a couple to find solutions to their problems. Let’s now analyze when and why one should see marriage counselling.
1. The premarital counselling to get to know each other
Marriage life has to start well. Before getting into it, counselling makes things work between couples, particularly when talking about goals, financial issues, and planning families as well as whatever concern the partners might have in their mind. One of the partners might wish for a work life, and the other, for a family life. Visiting a counsellor and attending counselling balances and enables building a shared future. If you’re looking for expert advice, the best family counselling in Kerala offers guidance tailored to each couple’s needs, ensuring they are better prepared for their journey together.
2. Less intimacy and Less communication
During the middle of the marriage, it’s nowadays common to see couples having less intimacy and communication. It can be due to several reasons: few might be busy with their hectic work life, some lost interest in marriage, while some always look to have a life as they had before marriage. This is where seeing a counsellor is when couples have stopped communicating properly.
Such scenarios lead to misunderstandings, arguments, or silence which create an emotional gap between them. Couples may argue about small things, such as household chores or spending habits, that later turn into bigger issues.
This is where the best online psychologist Malayalam can help. Online sessions allow couples to reconnect and learn how to improve communication without leaving their comfort zones. They can freely communicate without any language barriers and even express clearly what they feel within.
3. No more place for trust
Trust is what forms the backbone of any marriage. Once that trust is broken, sometimes being sorry doesn’t work. The trust might be broken due to lying, cheating, or not delivering on promises, it can add stress and dissatisfaction to both. For instance, a mate might be wounded if another mate keeps financial secrets or spends extra time at the workplace instead of with family. A counsellor helps to build a safe and open environment between the couple, as the people can say what is on their mind regarding the situation, it helps to understand people better and to forgive each other so that the bond may be restored.
4. After Marriage
Marriage involves new responsibilities that are not easy to cope with. Mostly, the issues are with the in-laws, finances, or doing chores around the house. There could be disagreement about family expectations and financial planning.
All these above challenges can be faced by a couple with counselling. Moreover today Instagram plays a worried role in building issues among couples. They never realise that behind every reel there is a real behind the scenes which they never think of and believe what’s seen on the screen and expect their life to flow the same way. Here is where The best individual counselling in Kerala will support the person in handling his or her stress or emotions that might be affecting the relationship.
5. When Life Appears to Be Shifting
The occurrence of big events, for example, the birth of a child, changing location, or financial crises, is very stressful to the marriage. A couple anticipating the birth of a child will worry about their time and responsibilities. And later when they receive the child’s the argument changes and surrounds the kid. The problem now becomes more related to the growth of the child and even some mates confess that their partner finds less intimacy after their delivery. Counselling enables such couples to prepare for and change together.
Conclusion
When things seem getting tougher when you are stepping into a new chapter of your life or when you are struggling through your marriage life always keep in mind that not all marriages are made in heaven some do break in between but it’s ok to be so. A counsellor is someone who can help you to find where and what went wrong. Sometimes it may be a small misunderstanding that leads to a huge fight but expert guidance can help you sort it out.
So never hesitate to visit a counsellor it’s always good to visit and attend counselling sessions as they keep your bond stronger and thicker!

Powerless- Lauren Roberts
đŸ’›đŸ’›đŸ’›đŸ’›đŸ€(4/5)
This was one of those books where you fall so fervently in love that nothing can stop you turning the page, but every part of you aches because you're closer to finishing it.
I have put off writing this review for so long, because words fail to encapsulate how I felt reading it.
⚔
This was my first taste of 'booktok' and I'm surprised to say it didn't disappoint. It was well-written and perfectly paced, with convincing protagonists and compelling world building. The only area of literary facet that it perhaps lacked, was in that deeper commentary, but as I've said before this isn't necessary or even fitting in every book.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------Discussion---------------------------------
My love for this book is inexplicable. I can't explain why I loved it so much. It hardly followed any of my usual interests and didn't have the commentary of 'In Memoriam,' which is the last book that made me feel like this. I shouldn't have liked it. Yet I craved it.
My only critique of this book was that some side characters felt a little one dimensional. Particularly Blair. She's immediately introduced as a bitch with little explanation why other than her cold demeanour. I think we're meant to dislike her because she is a rival love interest, but this portrayal is just so typical I couldn't hate her for it. She also has some unexplainable vendetta against Paedyn, which presumably is to do with Kai's attentions, but she just failed to be an interesting and believable character. I thought this was quite intriguing because Roberts actually displayed a pretty high level of emotional intelligence regarding the main protagonists. They were multi-faceted and had human motivations and emotional responses in all the appropriate situations that made them really convincing. I think that's why I liked this book so much. The complex to and fro of emotion that some authors can spend decades trying to imitate.
⚔
This was certainly the quickest I read half a thousand pages and immediately bought the next book, however I noticed some of the reviews when I did.
Some wanted greater attention on the resistance and the trials rather than the love story, and I'd agree to an extent. My initial opinion on this book was that it was very 'Hunger Games -esque,' but whereas in the Hunger Games the threat of the Games and the Capitol constantly looms, the Trials felt a lot less intimidating. The rules of the Trials weren't properly established clearly and concisely, whereas in the Hunger Games we always knew only one could survive which made the story incredibly compelling. The Second Trial too, was also a little underwhelming with little happening for the magnitude of the event. I also think Roberts could've benefited in escalating the threat of the Trials by adding more competitors, then also, more characters can be injured, with little consequence to the story, during the Trials and properly highlight the brutality of this system and how dangerous this event actually is. Very quickly the Trials were reduced to all familiar characters, which took away some of the mystery of the event. With a large group of allies there isn't as much danger, and I could tell they weren't going to turn on each other. The impact of the Trials simply simmered out quite quickly. However, the Trials weren't actually a huge part of the novel and I wasn't upset about it. I think it definitely would've elevated the novel if the Trials held a greater impact, but I was reading for the romance and simply the existence of the Trials helped elevate the emotions in that relationship.
⚔
--------------------------------Conclusions--------------------------------
To summarise, I understand the complaints surrounding this book, and I agree it could've been better, but it was already incredibly emotionally in tune, and that was what kept me reading.

(I'm slightly concerned this series is about to become my new personality.)

IT'S FINALLY DONE!! â™ĄïŒŒ(ïżŁâ–œïżŁ)ïŒâ™Ą
I've been working on this lovely template for DAYS, I really love how it turned out!
Before I get into Inu/Kou's relationship, credit to the person who made the original template! It's such a cute template and there are a lot of lovely colors to chose from! I used the transparent version but added a background and shifted some of the colors to fit better! I definitely recommend, but be sure to read the rules if you do use! 💚
Kouko and Inuyasha's relationship can best be described as balance.
They started off essentially indifferent to each other even if they were on the same team, though bickering about small things like bugs and other minor things did still happen, they weren't exactly close for a long time, even if Kouko had a base of respect for Inuyasha fullbred demons never got close to getting from her. For a long time, she was just another member of the team to him, nothing more, nothing less.
Things changed near entirely when after a massive confrontation with Kikyo, Kouko followed Inuyasha out to where he was trying to recuperate, from the event, and instead of beckoning him back to the group, offered him out a bowl of warm soup, and sits to give her condolences to how things played out between the two of them.
That was the first spark of compassion between the two, and it really just went from there. Though they still had funny moments, seeing more of Inuyasha's story and being able to find ways to sympathize and connect with him through talking through grief gave her a new outlook on him, and him somebody who finally recognized and understood just how deeply he was effected by his loss.
Kouko is essentially his opposite, being stoic and mellow, she's incredibly emotionally intelligent, even if she's stubborn in her goal of finding the demon who killed her family and lets herself get caught up in it from time to time to give herself some sort of purpose. She's both passionate and intuitive, though sometimes her past will get the better of her, and she'll hit a rough spot.
These rough spots usually end up in her falling into wondering if continuing her journey is worth it, and during those times, she tends to be a lot more quiet and isolated while she starts having second thoughts.
But during her most recent one after the confrontation with Kikyo, the tables turned, and though he was begrudging, Inuyasha sat down next to her while she was lost in thought fishing, and asked her what was wrong. Once she said she was considering giving up, he had to sit there surprised for a moment, before essentially confidently listing off every reason he could think of that she should keep hunting.
Her reassuring his feelings and him keeping her fire ablaze started their bonding even stronger than before, and though it was slow at first, they bit by bit build up a foundation of understanding and trust.
And then feelings started. And oh my god was it messy. LMAO
Neither were exactly sure where they very first started, though it definitely made things odd for a good while. They had already started looking at eachother in a different light after helping eachother in tough moments, but to suddenly have thoughts of romance come into the equation? It left them floundering for a good month or two.
Kouko hadn't properly had anybody romantically in ages, and clearly Inuyasha was, mentally at least, fresh out of losing Kikyo, plus a couple other factors? It was a clumsy situation.
For a while, they agreed to try and keep it silent and not let it effect them or act on it. But obviously that didn't work forever.
Down the line, now that they are officially together, their bond is intense, and Inuyasha is the fire to Kouko's water. She keeps him grounded and feeling secure, and he keeps her passionate and ready to take on life, they bring out the best in each other, and in general have a mellow, sweet relationship.
She never blames him for still loving Kikyo, she understands that it's still a fresh wound to him, she's not upset or sad over it in the slightest, after all, it's not as if she didn't know the situation beforehand. Just as he won't judge her over her past, she won't judge him over his, the most she'll do is help ease his mind about the whole matter, and assure him that it's normal for him to still feel that way. Any reassurance he needs, she'll give him, and that's a two way street.
That being said, they aren't the most publicly affectionate. The most they're seen doing when around the others is holding hands, and even that's only on occasion, but that doesn't mean they're not close in private. It's fairly often that Kouko will discreetly wave him over to come sleep next to her, and they'll wake up cuddled up (Check the image for spoon placements LMAO) in the morning before going back to venturing like usual.
Someday after all Naraku is defeated, they'll likely settle down, but for now, they're still running around. They'll get there someday LMAO

Breaking Up Without Breaking Down: Advice from Leading Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide
Separation is never simple. It can unravel even the most stable lives, triggering waves of emotion, financial uncertainty, and complex legal decisions. But navigating the end of a relationship doesn’t have to come at the expense of your wellbeing, your rights, or your future. With the guidance of experienced Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide, individuals can move forward with clarity, confidence, and fairness. At Lindbloms Lawyers, we understand that separation is more than a legal event—it’s a deeply personal transition that deserves respect, strategic care, and legal strength.
Understanding What Separation Really Means
Many people don’t realise that separation isn’t just about physically living apart. In the eyes of Australian family law, separation marks a legal turning point that affects finances, parenting arrangements, property rights, and entitlements. Whether you are ending a marriage or a de facto relationship, knowing the legal implications is essential.
Lindbloms Lawyers, as trusted Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide, frequently encounter clients who are unsure where they stand legally. Some couples still live under the same roof, others have separated without any formal agreement—both scenarios can lead to complications if not handled properly. That’s why early legal advice is key. Understanding your rights from day one sets the tone for a more manageable process.
Property, Assets, and the Fine Print
One of the most pressing challenges during separation is the division of property and assets. It’s not always about who paid for what—Australian family law considers a wide range of factors including financial contributions, non-financial support (such as parenting and homemaking), and future needs.
At Lindbloms Lawyers, our team of expert Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide goes beyond surface-level analysis. We carefully assess every asset, from homes and superannuation to businesses and investments. Our aim is to ensure that the final settlement reflects a fair division—not just based on income, but on contribution, effort, and long-term wellbeing.
Tumblr media
Parenting Plans That Prioritise the Child
For parents, separation brings an added layer of emotional and legal responsibility. Decisions around custody, visitation, schooling, and health care must be made with the child’s best interests in mind. Unfortunately, many separations become battles over parenting arrangements, often leaving children caught in the middle.
Lindbloms Lawyers are known for crafting practical and sensitive parenting plans that focus on stability and emotional security. As experienced Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide, we understand how to create court-approved parenting arrangements that minimise conflict while protecting both the child’s needs and the parent’s rights.
Emotional Clarity Begins with Legal Certainty
During separation, emotions run high—anger, grief, betrayal, and fear are common. But letting emotions guide legal decisions can have damaging consequences. That’s why having calm, professional guidance matters.
The role of Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide, especially the team at Lindbloms Lawyers, is to provide a buffer between raw emotion and legal outcomes. We support our clients through mediation, negotiation, and—if necessary—litigation, always with the goal of preserving dignity while securing the best possible results.
The Power of Preparation
Perhaps the most important step anyone can take during a separation is to prepare—legally, financially, and emotionally. Understanding your entitlements, documenting your assets, and knowing your obligations are the foundations of a smooth process.
Lindbloms Lawyers empower their clients by demystifying the process, clearly outlining expectations, and building tailored legal strategies. Our Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide are committed to not only protecting your legal position but also helping you emerge stronger, more informed, and ready for the next chapter.
Why Choose Lindbloms Lawyers
When your world is changing, who you choose to represent you matters. Lindbloms Lawyers is home to some of the most respected Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide, known for their dedication, depth of experience, and genuine care for clients.
We take the time to listen. We explain the law in plain language. We don’t just fight for you—we guide you forward.
Moving On, the Right Way
Separation can feel like the end of something—but with the right legal support, it can also be the beginning of something more stable, healthy, and fair. The path may be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be chaotic. With Lindbloms Lawyers by your side, and the steady expertise of skilled Seperation Lawyers in Adelaide, you can navigate your next steps with strength, clarity, and peace of mind.
