Astarion’s relationship with you was strange from the very beginning.

During the tiefling party, he decided to strike. Offer himself to you and lead you down a path for his own safety. He was convinced you’d give yourself to him, he saw how you looked at him. Your eyes said more than any other part of you could.

So, why the bloody hell did you reject him? He managed to conceal his frustration and go on with his night. Perhaps you wanted a piece of Lae’zel, or Gale—it didn’t matter. There was still hope you’d come back.

And come back you did. After the party, you came to his tent with sweet bread. For yourself, of course. You promised not to give him any after he expressed distaste.

Thus, began his relationship with you. Rather than sleep with him, or another member of your camp, you wanted to sit and…spend time together. Talk once the rest were fast asleep, laugh about the little dents throughout your journey together.

He never experienced anything like it. People would come to him, take and take and take. Never was he given something so small, yet so meaningful.

Despite being a vampire, he experienced many firsts with you.

Eventually he offered himself again, teasing that he’d broken your barriers by now. Even then, you said no. And he didn’t understand.

“Well…well, why not?” He felt exasperated.

You stared at him, a little concerned with his response. Maybe you should’ve came clean earlier, but it wasn’t an easy topic.

“I’m not interested,” you stated, processing how to explain without feeling embarrassed. “I’m interested in you, Astarion. I want you, but not in that way. I’ve never wanted anyone in that way.”

For a moment you believed he’d call it quits. It was casual but it’d still hurt. You hadn’t known each other long, but you cared for him.

He didn’t leave. Instead, you only grew closer.

After your interaction with Araj Oblodra, more than a confession happened that night. Astarion took you to the outskirts of camp and opened himself completely. You had already done so, shouldn’t he do the same? But it wasn’t to be even. He found himself longing to tell you the truth, to free himself from the deceit. To express what you made bubble up inside of him.

When you hugged him, it was difficult to let go.

Later in the night you returned to camp and to his tent. As the moon shone, you held each other throughout. It became your new normal, sticking by his side and his by yours.

It was a comfort, existing with you. No pressure of sex, but still a need to keep you happy. And you were happy, either from a deep kiss or a quick peck.

Through some walks, when you were behind the rest, you’d hold hands. You’d share what sweets you found in hopes of finding a taste he’d enjoy. He’d gift you pieces of jewelry he found on bodies and polish them for hours.

Those simple pleasures only strengthened after Cazador’s defeat. When Astarion took you to his grave, he crushed the Szarr ring beneath his boot and spent the rest of the night holding you. As he looked to the stars, your eyes stayed on him.

answered here but i have another... i think dinah's stance on motherhood is a lot different than a lot of people say it is. listen!!! i dont want her to be forced into a mother role either. and i love when female characters say they dont want kids so i like to think that dinah doesnt want to be a mother. but it seems unfair to me when people insist that dinah would Never be a mother and anyone who implies it is wrong. shes not the arrowfamily mother but.. shes not exactly NOT the arrowfamily mother. i see people point to longbow hunters where she says she doesnt want kids, but i think the important context of that is WHY she says she doesnt want kids. she says that she doesnt want to bring a baby into their life when both her and ollie are distracted with being heroes and wouldnt be able to raise a child since their lives are too dangerous, and they would leave the kid alone if they died ("id love to make babies with you. but i wont make orphans") which is such a good moment and i really love it!!

but some people point to this conversation and say "this is why shes not a mother to mia!!" like???? in what way does that apply to mia. mia is already a hero so shes not being neglected by their hero life and no one has to give it up either. not to mention later in ga88 (by the same writer) dinah decides that she does actually want kids (which is a whole other can of worms that i wont get into bc i dont like it) so its not even really fair to say that she Doesnt want to be a mother. people take a few panels from this conversation out of context and act like its the end all be all of dinah's stance on kids

i personally dont believe that shes a mother to mia or roy, but also she is somewhat in the mom role in both of their lives. and a lot of people insist that shes not a mother to them and get mad at people who say she is when really. she kind of is. you can interpret it however you'd like but i dont think either interpretation is wrong

answered here but ive got more. in general the concept of disregarding canon is so annoying to get into bc there are so many sides to it and sometimes if someone accepts one thing as canon that another person doesnt accept it turns into an argument about whats More Canon. not to mention so much of the argument is from people who have never read a comic besides wfa and they say "dc stands for disregard canon :3 i can do whatever i want!" but they dont even know what the canon is that theyre disregarding and just take a completely flanderized version of the character to heart and act like their interpretations are just as important as people who actually care about the character in the comics. on the other hand there are characters like talia where people will take "canon" to heart and say "well she did this in a comic so its canon that shes a bad person" and wont listen when you say that the "canon" where she did that was racist so thats not the kind of interpretation that you should be sticking to

but other than that. i think the nature of comics is that you have to accept that two conflicting interpretations are both canon. people will get into fights about who's right and who's wrong when really it just depends on what youre looking at. and sometimes writers will abide by whats currently canon and people will get mad at them for not taking the canon that they personally agree with. im once again going to talk about robin jason bc there are so many different portrayals of jason's time as robin that its hard to settle on one because they all oppose each other. if you go back to the 80s comics he was mostly just happy and silly and having a good time as robin. but in current comics whenever you see him as a robin they show his angry moments & the starlin characterization. and neither is exactly wrong?? and dgmw it bothers me when writers make jason mean and angry and whatever when he was robin, but its still canon. its hard to say its out of character when there are many comics in the last 40 years that support the fact that he was actually an angry kid. just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean its not canon. and you dont have to abide by canon in your own interpretation!!! but if other people are abiding by a different canon theyre not doing anything wrong

Can you explain why you think Ocelot likes Kaz? I was always under the impression that they fought like cat and dog (sorry I couldn't resist).

this took a while to answer because i wanted to go back through some of the mgsv tapes with ocelot and kaz but. mainly, what you thought is entirely untrue. whatever antagonism exists in their relationship, it feels like the fandom has blown WAYYY out of proportion.

the ONLY point of contention i can think of off the top of my head is kaz being jealous of ocelot for knowing bb longer. in the tape where kaz is talking to zero about where bb is during his coma, zero mentions an agent who has known bb 10 years longer than kaz has, and kaz SCOFFS, like he cant believe someone would know bb better than him. but also, this tape is set almost immediately after ground zeroes, so who knows how his feelings might have changed over the years.

the only time ocelot seems to get genuinely angry at kaz is when hes accusing quiet of. well. anything he accuses her of. kaz tends to do so without any evidence, and he doesnt trust her (for justified reasons), but he also blames her for a lot of things. ocelot is the only person on mother base willing to defend her. and he never yells, he just logically rebukes and kaz is the one who fights back.

any time ocelot speaks about kaz without him present, he really only praises him. he obviously is impressed at what he and bb accomplished in founding MSF.

thats just what i can remember. going for evidence now, grabbed some of the tapes that have ocelot AND kaz in them:

Bionic arm tape Ocelot: "I couldn't get [a bionic arm] for you at the time, but y'know, now…" ocelot offers to get bionics for kaz, he wants to make kaz's life easier. kaz refuses i think out of a self-punishing sentiment, not out of resentment or denial of ocelot's help. that because all of his men died, hes not allowed to have it. and he gets heated and angry about it, nearly yelling. but then he apologizes, realizing he wasnt actually angry at ocelot, just venting.

Yellow cake and the Shinkolobe Mine tapes ocelot and kaz theorizing about why the shinkolobwe mine was reopened/being mined for uranium. the conversation honestly sounds like they could be on a lunch break just chilling.

The Children Escape tapes in [2] they disagree over who should interrogate eli. ocelot doesnt think kaz can responsibly question the kids, so he steps up to do it instead. kaz dismisses him and his expertise at interrogation because he thinks ocelot will enjoy it too much. ocelot is definitely offended, and they do argue here, but i think this is because of the topic at hand and not indicative of their other conversations.

Huey's Interrogation Tapes i think their good(ish) cop bad cop routine with huey is very funny. theyre working together to get as much information out of him as possible. and it works.

overall i think they actually work really well together. after all, they spent the time bb and v were unconscious recreating MSF from scratch. also, i think kaz trusts ocelot to some extent, going as far as to put his life on the line to distract from the hospital attack. he depended upon ocelot to get bb (venom. but. you know.) out of the hospital and to afghanistan in time to rescue him.

at the very least, they are working toward the same goals (during mgsv) and have no ideological reason to hate one another. when they DO work together, it gets results.

i cant imagine you can work with someone for years doing all that and still not have any positive association with them. kaz definitely is the type to hold a grudge, but if anything, i think thats a personal one. and im not even certain on whether or not he does hold anything against ocelot once they start working together (during mgsv at least. after the game. well. anything goes.)

Dndads Headcanons, season 2 kiddads and teens (appearance based)

the order of the kiddads from tallest to shortest is: terry jr, sparrow (by like half an inch), lark, grant, nick (but none of them are really all that short)

Lark, sparrow, and nick all have their ears pierced but sparrows holes closed up and he didn't wanna relive the traumatic experience of re-piercing them, while larks have gotten infected so many times he just stopped trying.

Terry dresses like a substitute teacher literally every day of this fucking life.

Sparrow is almost always wearing a bathrobe or a comfy cardigan. He dresses like a mixture of a female therapist and a deranged housewife.

Lark dresses like he's in the walking dead

Nick has a frankly absurd amount of Christmas sweaters and it's VERY obvious which ones are from Glenn.

both lark and sparrow need glasses. sparrow wears his when he needs them, but Lark never wears them because they make him look like henry.

scary was born with blonde hair, but it's gotten darker as she got older. right now, it's a light brown/sandy blonde. when her mom and terry Jr. got engaged, he tried to bond with scary by pointing out that their hair was almost the same color. she dyed it black the next day.

on the topic of hair dye, taylor tried to dye his hair electric blue when he was in middle school and had to buzz it all off cause he destroyed it with bleach. he cried for 2 weeks.

both scary and taylor regularly paint their nails. normal TRIES to paint his nails but then gets annoyed that now they taste gross and ends up picking off all the nail polish before its even finished drying

Scary also secretly stole one of Terry Jr's old band t-shirts for herself cause she thought it was cool. Terry knows she has it but will not say a goddamn word cause he thinks it's so sweet.

Grant has a picture of baby Lincolns face on a t-shirt next to the titanic that says "I survived the titanic and all I got was this stupid baby" given to him by nick that he has never worn because it's mean but it's collecting dust in a closet somewhere in the house. Lincoln found it once but didn't understand it cause he never saw the titanic, so he just didn't say anything.

Some positive storytime amongst all the hatred for otherkin by 'the general population' -

Back when I first admitted to myself I felt like the Loki I was attempting to information to worship Loki (I wanted to be a lokean misinterpreting being deitykin as just a connection) I told my therapist, and told them I think I had delusions of grandeur, as well as feeling like a fox (I got the animal wrong but the animalistic feeling right). And guess what...I thought they were going to say I was mentally ill since I had 'symptoms of DID' to cope with life, never diagnosed but it showed up the same as the criteria and we just stripped all the characters and here I was, thinking I was Loki.

But instead of agreeing with me, they admitted to me theyre an angel and also a mythological animal. They are also not the stereotypical edgy young person.

And I told them 'well I can't be Loki because people are talking to Loki. So how can Loki be in two places at once? I'm delusional'.

They told me to think about when the norse gods were worshipped, and what the priorities were back then. And then asked me if it was the same now. I said no, obviously not. But now I think I finally understand what theyre saying, and honestly?? It's so refreshing to see another otherkin (although they dosent know the word) in thr wild - especially someone who isn't the stereotypical edgy teen-twentysomething haha.

There is hope out there and probably more of us but we're too cautious to tell people unless we know they are also otherkin. So I think...don't think you're completely alone, maybe one of your friends is otherkin and hiding it from you because they're scared you'll reject them. Although there isn't a way to know for SURE there's some signs you can try to pick out.

If they're spiritual, and have an interest in theology and mythology (and perhaps pagans but idk some pagans hate otherkins- godkins specifically I've heard) maybe slowly try bringing up the topic. Not at once just to see their reaction. Maybe "do you know about people who see their souls as animal or nonhuman?" Then slowly go into it if they don't react negatively or with judgement. You can also gauge their open mindedness with other topics.

Also since they're your friend it can be assumed they're like you so they could well secretly be an otherkin as well.

So the literal definition of being objectum is someone who's attracted to inanimate objects, whether that be platonic, romantic, sexual, or somethin else. However, looking at it with only its literal definition doesn't really account for the intricacies that such a label brings.

I just want to point out that while some people see objects as alive (the label for that being POSIC), others dont. Animism is also a similar term for where people percieve inanimate things as having souls. Personally, I dont see my object as alive, but do sometimes use gendered terms to describe them and feel comforted by their presence. People can also be objectum and be attracted to actual people too.

Being objectum is also more common in autistic people. Object personafication is a common trait seen in autism and other disorders and i can see how that can lead people to being objectum. Though I have never been formally diagnosed with anything, i am probably neurodivergent & maybe that has a part in me identifying as objectum idk!! For me, I started using the objectum label coincidentally around the time I started finally figuring out that i was aroace and not attracted to real people. I realized that the love I feel for my friends is equivalent to the love I feel for my hobbies and interests which was also the same love i felt towards certain objects. I drew this out cuz i think its a lil confusing how im saying it LOL. Theres also a thing called "conceptum" which is the attraction to concepts which I think i actually fall more into, but I just go by objectum because it is more general.

You know how people will swear they have this great relationship with nature? How they feel so so connected to plants and how they love watching the ocean and how they wish they could live outside forever because the forest is a part of their flesh and blood? How they feel more alive feeling the earths fresh air and how nature teaches them things they never even knew about themselves? okay, so, why is this normal to say but once u turn it around into something that’s an object it is insane talk!! I feel like there's this interesting dynamic where its okay to be super attached to nature but kinda weird to be super attached to inanimate things but i think i am rambling & getting off topic!!!

Personally, I dont really have objects that im attracted to in the same way I would be attracted to a human. It is very broad for me. Others though, have certain objects that they really like and thats fine. For me, going by that label just makes me comfortable even if i dont fit into the literal definition. I like computers in general, not just my own personal computer. Objectum for me is just another way to say that my love for inanimate things can be just as great as my love for animate things. Theres just so much complexity and nuance in it that it is hard to describe unless you've experienced it yourself.

As for it being a coping thing, I've heard some people say its a result of not being able to trust people due to past trauma, but i dont believe that's necessarily true for the majority of people and not too good to generalize. Ive grown up surronded by friends and in a loving environment and am able to maintain relationships with living people, but also use the label of objectum because it makes me comfortable.

I can very much see how someone can look at someone saying theyre attracted to objects and just cringe a little bit and thats okay LOL. At this point, I have been exposed to so many concepts -being online so much and surrounded by so many diverse people- that i just dont even pay it mind. But, I know a lot of people have literally never heard of this label before and are just weirded out by it. I think honestly people need to think about the limitless potential a relationship can be when in the hands of such a complex being as a human. At the end of the day though, it doesn't hurt anyone but its also okay to be a lil unsure of it as an outsider. Just be kind to others!!

• they save the corny nicknames for when theyre alone, but publicly will call each other stuff like "shorty" and "carebear" (wilt likes to call larry carebear because he's somehow more caring than anyone hes ever known and is nearly as tall as a bear)

• Wilt scheduled times designated to shit-talking Duchess with eduardo, coco, bloo, mac and frankie (Larry had no idea who Duchess even was but when he met her for the first time he never wanted to punch someone so bad)

• Wilt fish-kisses (looks like a 3) and Larry kisses w tongue

• madame foster now hosts 'pride parties' in june which was inspired by the couple so that residents of the house could feel comfortable while living there (and she got all the tea about them from Frankie)

in terms of disabled characters, do you know about hyakkimaru from dororo? although the main plot is about him curing his disability (ew) i ignored that part. he's really helped me feel more comfortable being disabled & needing my wheelchair full time since he realistically would too. his entire body had to be reconstructed from wood by a prostheticist that took him in. due to a deal that his father made with demons, he allowed them to take his body parts away. hyakki's very cool (^^)b and we look similar so it helped more. i think in some gacha game he even has a modern design, but they didnt give him a wheelchair because theyre cowards i guess. either way, i think hes neat and i wanted to share him with you!

its just very relatable in a lot of ways especially for people who's condition, once found out, were practically abandoned by their families which is all too common at least in my experience idk.. !!.. idk. sorry for rambling!! if you do check out dororo (2019 especially) just be aware that theres a lot of violence/blood and other unsavory topics but it is really beautifully animated & wholesome too.

I think my view on “wanting a cure” is pretty nuanced personally. Like, if you personally want a cure for your disability, illness, etc because of pain, quality of life, fatality rate, etc, that is a completely fine and normal response for anyone to have!

The problem comes when you force that view onto other people, and/or adopt the eugenics ideology of “disabled=bad”, when that isn’t the case.

It’s also completely normal to feel pride and comfort in your disability as well — and to /not/ want a cure. These ideas can coexist at the same time, because humans are very diverse critical thinkers.

Disability is a natural state of humanity! Everyone will be disabled one day, whether that is when you come out of the womb, in your childhood to adulthood, or when you are elderly.

It’s really sad how common it is for disabled peoples families to abandon them when they become disabled, as mine did the same thing. I’m sorry to everyone that can relate. It’s not fair.
