So what really bothers me about this season was how they reducer every single character to their most basic cliches, when in previous seasons they were so much more than that. Hear me out:

Luther was made into this happy-go-lucky, dumb himbo, when in reality, he's a guy who takes stuff seriously, who does his best to take care of everyone, and has emotional depth. They took that away from him. He's smart, even if they try to make it out like he isn't. They reduced him to just endless positivity and a pretty body (and even that they turned into a joke, giving him an ape body again and ignoring all his trauma related to that).

Diego was reduced to this useless, bitter, suburban dad, who thinks he's owed more than he has. In reality, he was so excited to be a dad. He's a good detective, he's empathetic, he has this sensitivity that he tries to hide but shines when he talks to others. More than anything, he's a provider, he thrives when he has someone to protect, to care for.

Allison has always been a badass, and a good mom. They made that shine, but she was so much more than that. She was complex, and endlessly optimistic, fighting for what was right. She was a good sister, and they made her bitter about that too.

Klaus was reduced to just humor, and not even well done. His little adventures used to mean something for him, and to the plot. They just made him a whore and did nothing for him. The only good thing I will say was that they took his addiction seriously for once. Still, he was useless to the plot, when once he was the key they were all missing.

Five. Oh my fucking God. They did him the most dirty. He would come off as aloof and uncaring, but underneath it, we all understood he loved his family more than anything, that he did everything in his power to protect them. They reduced him to that facade, they made him cold and selfish, willing to hurt his sibling just for his own personal gain.

With Ben, they spent the entire past season making him into this guy who was really rubbish at being the bad guy, who wanted a real family deep down. They reduced him to this asshole who spent the entire season swearing up and down that the umbrellas where not his family.

With Viktor, they tried to make him this cool, confident, independent (apparently womanizer?) dude who gave zero shits about his family. WHEN ALL HE EVER WANTED WAS HIS SIBLINGS' RESPECT. HE WANTED TO BE PART OF THE TEAM. And then they proceeded to make him work??? With his abusive dad???? Who suddenly cared???? And he ignored the rest of his siblings until the last possible minute.

Lila was always the cool, independent, secure woman, who didn't really need a man. They spent two seasons assuring us that she could be on her own just fine, but Diego completed her. He was the perfect person for her, bc he could give her what she craved, a family, people she could rely on. Instead on continuing that, finding a way to balance her family and a job (or something) to let her be something more than just a bored suburban mom, they made her into this insecure woman in her marriage, who just tosses it all aside for FIVE. Who is so incompatible with her that is not even funny.

YanAlpha!Klaus M. Mates the Last Omega

Klaus meets an Omega while searching for wolves to make Hybrids. She’s the first Omega he has seen in Hundreds of years and he knows he has to have her…even if it takes some intense patience on his part

It started out as a Headcanon but it didn’t end that way so I’m not sure what to call it at this point

~Klaus met you after finding out he needed Elena's blood to change his Hybrids

•The Hybrid had gone off by himself, leaving his sister behind, to find a new pack of werewolves and since he already knew where to look it didn't take long

•Klaus had walked right into the camp, startling the wolves who saw him before looking to their Alpha as the Hybrid knew they would.

•'I am Dane, Alpha of this pack and I'm sorry to say we don't allow outsiders in this camp, you may find the Shadow Moon pack to be more welcoming, they're about 12 miles southeast.  Leave this pack, now.'  The Alpha demanded and though he really wanted to laugh, he contained it, noting how so many of the wolves were shifting to a certain area as if protecting one specific tent. The tent being away from all of the others and clearly the largest one in the camp making Klaus extra curious though he would deal with the insolent Alpha first.

'That's good to know for later, thank you.  What is this pack called if I might ask?' He inquired, wondering if he should come up with a name for his own pack now, though that thought quickly fled his mind. Naming his pack would be inconsequential, he would just call it his Army.

'This is the Lycan Blood pack, and it is time for you to go, I am the Alpha of this pack.  You have no business here.'

'Oh, but that's where you're wrong.  I do have business here.  My name is Klaus, perhaps you've heard of me?' Everyone became noticeably stiff, once again shifting between him and the far tent.

'You're the hybrid.'

'Oh, you have heard of me.  Wonderful!' He grinned and suddenly the girl who had named him turned to the Alpha.

'Take care of her quickly.' He was officially intrigued when the Alpha took off to the tent and 4 of the wolves lunged at him at once.  It was far too easy to dispatch them, feeding them his blood and knocking the rest of the pack and the humans unconscious before following the Alpha to the tent.

'Please no?!  I haven't done anything wrong Alpha!'

'I know but I can't let him have you, you need to understand!  I have to do this!' Klaus peeked his head into the tent, seeing the Alpha with a dagger in hand, pinning another wolf to the ground, knees on her arms to keep her still as she still tried to kick him, tears streaming down her face.  The hybrid grabbed him by the back of the neck and hauled him off of her, quickly shoving a bloody wrist into the Alpha-soon to be Betas-mouth and snapped his neck.

•He had changed your Alpha that was trying to kill you before realizing what you were and the smell that filled his senses was like nothing he had ever experienced, made even stronger by the fact that he is in your tent that holds your nest (something he had only ever heard of before), he was obsessed with it immediately.  He knew as an Omega it would be hard for you to resist obeying an Alpha now that yours was gone and he knew he could take advantage of that as he watched you crawl away from him and up into the colorful, very well padded nest

•'Don't be afraid sweet girl, I won't harm you.' You looked up at him, tears in your eyes that Klaus wanted to wipe away but he wouldn't push you so far as to enter your nest this quickly, before looking down at your old Alphas dead body.  'I've given him a gift, he's a Hybrid now, never again bound to the moon.  You're a smart girl, you know that stronger Alphas will take over other packs, that's all this is, he's not your Alpha anymore sweet girl, I am, and I intend to protect you.' As he moved forward you suddenly hissed, swinging your claws out at him making him jump back to see he had nearly entered your nest and while the Original Hybrid felt he should be welcomed into the sweet smelling snuggly bed he also had heard how protective Omegas were of their nests and knew that if he bided his time you would be dragging him in before long, therefore he controlled himself...for now.

~He knew it would take time to get you to trust him and view him as your Alpha but he was willing to wait for you

•He eventually got you to relax enough to sleep, snuggled up in your nest and drifting off, allowing him to take care of the rest of the wolves, turning them and feeding them the Doppelgänger blood before getting rid of the humans and packing up everything his new pack would need to keep.  He woke you a few hours later and helped you begrudgingly pack up your nest and load it into his car to transport you to the next pack he had been told about

•He kept you safe in his house upon returning to Mystic Falls a few days later, having given you the master bedroom to set your nest in and that's where you stayed.  He would sit with you for hours, the first 2 days just consisted of him staring at you before he finally got you to talk to him which he counted as a win, quiet as you were.  He knew you eventually would, an Omega needs other wolves more than any Beta or Alpha does, they don't function well alone and he was going to make you completely dependent on him as your Alpha…no matter what he had to do

•'Eat my sweet girl, your Alpha made it especially for you.' He always referred to himself like this, knowing it would make you associate him with the head of your pack, as he hadn't changed you into a Hybrid yet, wanting you to be dependent on him first.

'Thank you...it's good.' You mumbled, reaching for your drink and touching his hand, the skin contact sending a feeling of warmth shooting up your body and making you needy.  Omegas are naturally needy and cuddly with their Alphas and your wolf has been quickly searching for a new Alpha to follow and you knew Klaus knew that.  It's why he isolated you and never left you alone but it was finally too much as you felt your wolf in the back of your head purring, your Alpha finally touching her after leaving her needy for days. 

Klaus watched your eyes glaze over and he knew your wolf was at the forefront of your mind, exactly what he was waiting for.  Klaus had only ever heard rumors about Omegas and since meeting you he did all the research he could, even compelling your old Alpha to tell him everything about you and how you behaved so he was prepared for whatever you needed.  'Alpha...'. you whined and he smiled, taking your hand and caressing the back of it with his thumb.

'Alphas here, Omega.  It's okay.  You're safe here, Alpha will protect you.' You whined again, dropping the plate of food and crawling forward, out of your nest and into his lap, nuzzling under his chin.  'Well, aren't you a snuggly thing.  My sweet girl, Alphas here.' Klaus was delighted by your attitude, wrapping his arms around you before picking up your plate.  'Eat Omega, your Alpha needs to make sure you're taken care of, don't I?' He fed her a bite of her pasta, digging his face into her neck as he heard her moan before the purr erupted from her throat.  The sound ran a chill down his spine straight to his cock, which was instantly hard pressed against her ass on his lap.

'Alpha?' She wondered and he nipped at her flesh.

'Never touched me.' She choked and he tilted his head, confused.  'Said 'Mega's get in your head and make it cloudy...he only-only needed me to build the pack-Alpha please?' She pulled at his hand and while he knew he wasn't hurting her or even really cutting off her airway he eased his grip until his hand just touched her skin.

Klaus knew that Betas were more inclined to join a pack with an Omega, Omegas providing a feeling of safety which is what all wolves searching for a pack are in need of, of course he used her to help build his pack but not mating her?  Klaus had been curious about that but now he understood.  Many Alphas hundreds of years ago believed Omegas had the ability to control their Alphas because, as she had just demonstrated, their scent and touch can make their Alpha feel foggy but they feel it too, it enhances the experience of mating.  However, he knew that many Alphas some 5-600 years ago killed Omegas to keep them from "controlling their minds and stealing their packs".  While Klaus knew it to be a crazy superstition, it had seemingly worked out for him since the idiot "Alpha" hadn't touched his Omega.

'Alpha won't do that to you sweet girl, I will always give you what you need.' Klaus rocked his hips upwards against hers and his Omega practically wailed in need, his hard length pressing up against her through his jeans, though her pajama shorts that covered very little of her didn't do much to offer her protection with whatever kind of panties she had on.  His hands settled on her waist and she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, face digging into his neck as she panted needily as he continued rocking up into her.  'There you go Omega, just feel me, such a good girl.' 'Nest Alpha, snuggle.' She all but demanded and he smiled, finding her adorable.  Klaus lifted her up and moved her to her nest, settling her down inside of it and handing her one of the stuffed creatures inside of it.  'Alpha, come.  Need you-'

'Not now Omega, Alpha has things to do.  I'll come and check on you in a bit, okay?' She shook her head quickly.

'No, want you in my nest!  Come!' Now she was demanding and he growled low in his chest making her squirm.

'Watch your tone Omega.  I will be back.' As he went to leave she caught his torn shirt and tugged at it, not meeting his eyes letting him know exactly what she wants which caused a smile to grow on his face and he pulled the tattered shirt off so that she could keep his scent in her nest before grabbing a clean shirt and leaving her to her inevitable nap.

•It's not like Klaus didn't want to be in her nest, he wanted it more than Anything!  But he knew that the second he crawled in he wouldn't be crawling out.  He needed to control himself and being surrounded by his Omegas nest, encased in her scent, wouldn't allow him to think of anything but mounting her and before that happened he needed her to be well and truly desperate for him.  He needed her to choose him when she goes into her heat.

~He kept on like that for a while, holding her and giving her bits and pieces of pleasure, but never more than that

•Klaus did feel a bit bad for it, he was truly falling in love with this sweet creature and she just wanted him to love on her the way her instincts insisted on but he wouldn't.  When he had come back later that night her nest was completely different, she had disassembled it and remade it in a different way, clearly thinking that her Alpha hadn't been satisfied with it and that's why he wouldn't enter it.  It looked incredibly comfortable and Klaus wanted more than anything to crawl in and never come out again, out of the nest or out of his Omega, but he couldn't. Not yet.

•He tried his best to keep her from thinking that he didn't like it but over the next few days as he could smell her getting closer to her heat she changed the nest 5 more times in hopes that he would like it. 3 days after he got her off for the first time, she finally hit her heat and he could smell it instantly

•The entire pack could smell it honestly, and all of them were quite stiff and unsure that day, watching Klaus as if waiting for him to snap. He didn't let her sit alone for long, not willing to leave her in pain when he could relieve it, but there was one more thing that needed done

•Klaus had planned to allow one of his Betas up the stairs to scare his mate a bit and make her all the more dependent on him but it seems the Beta he intended to use had beaten him to it when he thought his Alpha was distracted. He heard the Beta creeping to the door to his Omegas room slowly and quietly before Klaus turned to Mindy, one of his strongest Betas, and had her clear everyone out of the house for the night. He moved up the stairs behind his stupid Hybrid and he could see how desperate this wolf was for his Omega. He allowed the boy to enter his Omegas room without any complaint from him and he could see that the idiot boy was clearly excited. All of his Hybrids had been whispering since he brought his Omega back here, about what he's really going to do with her since any normal Alpha would have marked her by now. Some of them say he's just using her to his own ends like their old Alpha, some are saying he's going to kill her to keep her from having a hold on him, and some seem to believe that he just needs to keep her but that he's going to let one of his pack members have her since he doesn't want her...to Klaus, that was the stupidest conclusion they had come up with. But here this idiot Beta was, walking into his Omegas room as if he belonged there without a second thought. He cannot allow his pack to be full of men who would try and touch his Omega...he also can't have Betas in his pack that are this fucking stupid! Yes, it's true that he was going to have this Beta scare his Omega a bit like this anyway, but Klaus actually had hope that the Beta would be smart enough not to fall for it...apparently not. Klaus had known exactly which one of his Hybrids would be dumb enough to try something and there was nothing that could save him now…

•Klaus stood by the door, listening carefully as he heard his girl groan before smelling the air and whimpering as she realized the person who walked in was not her Alpha.

'Get out.' Y/n mumbled, writhing against the blankets uncomfortably. Klaus knew she was uncomfortable and scared now that this idiot was in her room and he desperately wanted to comfort her, however he knew that “saving her” would benefit him in the end. He was however quite happy with the fact that she only wanted him, rejecting this other wolf. Even after Klaus hadn’t given her what she wanted all this time, she still would only accept her Alpha. Klaus was fully confident that she was as in love with him as he was with her.

'It's okay Omega...I won't hurt you.' Klaus heard her let out a loud, angry hiss and he was actually impressed by his girl. As overwhelmed by her heat as she is, she is pushing through the brain fog to continue rejecting this idiot Beta. 'Alpha isn't here, he's not coming...but I'm here. I'll take care of you, Angel. I'll make you feel so good you won't even think about him again.' Klaus actually finds himself shocked at how stupid this Beta is, he knew he was an idiot and he had been meaning to get rid of him for a while, but if he's really this stupid he wants him away from his Omega now-Plans be damned!

'Alpha is gonna kill you for this.' She warned, and though it only came out a quiet mumble Klaus found himself smiling at how strongly he'd made his Omega believe in him.

'He doesn't care about you. All this time he could have mated you but he didn't, he doesn't want to Omega.' Klaus noted the Betas footsteps, not willing to let him actually get close enough to touch his Omega or to enter her nest. 'We've all been talking about it since he locked you up here...what's so wrong with that Omega that an Alpha doesn't want to mate her?' She whimpered sadly, the noise yanking on Klaus' heartstrings. 'Dane always said you were too needy, too desperate for this nest and for his attention. Personally I think he had the right idea, minus the not fucking you bit.'

'If you touch my nest I'll claw your eyes out!' She threatened but he snorted.

'You think you're stronger than me? Especially now? No Omega, now you're gonna put the claws away and do as you're told or I'm gonna do what Dane did when you misbehaved and I'm gonna take this nest away from you.' Klaus found himself shocked by that, Y/n hadn't told him of her old Alpha taking away her nest…maybe she hadn’t wanted to risk giving him the idea? That is one of the worst things that can be done, something the Hybrid would never even consider doing to his Omega and this idiot was threatening to do it during her heat! If Klaus hadn't already killed Dane several days ago (having been overly possessive after touching his Omega the first time), he would be killing him now…though now he wishes he’d made the idiot suffer a bit more.

'Get away from me!' As Klaus now heard the fear in his Omegas voice, he finally stepped into the room, rumbling a loud growl from his chest and startling the Beta who jumped back from the nest. 'Alpha! Please make him stop?! Please?!' His girl pleaded and Klaus felt his wolf howling in the back of his mind as he was overcome by the smell of his Omegas heat.

'What do you think you're doing in here?' Klaus asked, as calmly as he could which startled the Beta more.

'You aren't mating her, and if you're not going to, someone should.' The boy explained, trying to keep up his cocky attitude but being unable to keep the waver out of his voice as he grew more nervous.

'So you thought you would sneak in here while I was out, like a rat, and assault my Omega while she's in heat...if you truly think any Omega anywhere deserves that kind of treatment...then the world is damn lucky that you're not an Alpha.'

'I'd make a better Alpha than you! You leave her here alone every day to suffer-'

'Suffer?! She has everything she could ever need, she has her own room that no one else can enter and force her to smell other wolves, she has a nest full of everything she could want and I continue adding to it every day! You had met Klaus in a night of drinking gone wrong. After working your menial 9-5 having your boss yell at you in front of your coworkers then having a stressful presentation, there was nothing else you needed more than to drink the day away. There you met Klaus, he was funny and charming. The two of you got sucked into a drinking competition due to his comment "You look like a lightweight." The rest of the night was a blur between you dancing on tables and hopping from bar to bar. It was only after you both woke up the next day in the park looking like zombies you decided that fun night was meant to be.

A few months later you became really good friends and hung out often. After finding out about his drug habit and Dave, you two decided that distracting him with fun times would be a better solution than cold turkey. It became routine for you to go to the Hargreeves estate after work with a sweet treat, maybe cookies, ice cream, or a movie night. Some nights Klaus would even go to your place just needing a safe space. He said your apartment felt like what a real home should be like.

You don't know when this happened, maybe slowly, or maybe one day you just noticed something. But Five, Klaus's older younger brother was...hot. You knew about Five's little... situation and honestly, it was the best of both worlds. You liked older men who could take care of you and he was easy on the eyes. He was taller than you and had green eyes that bore into you when he talked. His voice could be soft and smooth almost a whisper in your ear. Other times it was an insult thrown at his sibling or a sly comment that you could feel lit a fire in your gut.

This would be a thing you kept to yourself though, not like Five would notice you.

He did notice you. The minute you walked through the academy doors with Klaus slinging off your arm, laughter ringing through his ear. You were pretty. Your smile caught his eye first. Sure the eyes are the windows to the soul but the smile is the mirror of the heart. He didn't know why you would spend all your time with Klaus but he noticed a lack in his brother's desire to be high. Not wanting to entertain whatever fantasy his time travel fried brain might cook up, Five avoided you at all costs. At the academy, you would only then catch glimpses of him, a flash of blue, or a blurred jacket swiftly moving by. You were just too good for him, and you deserve a normal man who could give you a normal life without all the baggage.

It wasn’t until that afternoon where you and Klaus were lying in the foyer trying to find what movie to watch when he turned to you and asked “So what do you like about ole Fivey anyways?”

You snapped your head so fast towards him. “What gave you the impression that I liked him?”

Klaus flipped to his stomach, kicked his feet in the air, and with a sly look replied “Oh come on I see the way you look at him when you think no one is looking. I’m your best friend just tell me.” He pouted in your direction, the kind of pout that said "I'm not going to give up on this."

Five was about to retreat to his room after grabbing coffee from the kitchen when he overheard you and Klaus.

“Uh, he’s hot, smart, a bit cocky and arrogant but in a sexy way. I don’t know Klaus what do you want me to say?” Um, who the fuck were you talking about. You never mentioned another man before or posted anything on your social media ( not like he was checking). Anyman definitely wouldn't like your friendship with Klaus.

“Doesn’t help I love an older man. They always have a mature take-charge mentality. It turns me on." Klaus gave you a sly look that said "Oh ! Naughty" but you continued,

"Anyways, I see the way Five cares for you guys in his own way. He loves you more than he lets on. Family men are also attractive, it shows the way they'll treat you.”

A bit embarrassed that he was angry at the guy, the guy being himself, Five chuckled to himself. You were so confident and beautiful yet, thought that much of someone like him? Mentally old enough to be your dad? He did feel an ego boost when you called him hot.

Five felt like if he stayed any longer you would be able to hear his heart pounding and call him out for eavesdropping. He turned to blink into his bedroom opening up his laptop that Viktor so kindly helped him figure out how to use. Fingers typed into the search bar closest flower shop near me and Italian fine dining. ( disclaimed : I didn't reread/ edit year I probably will tomorrow morning, i just wanted to get this out)

I finished Umbrella Academy last night. The further I got into the season the messier the writing seemed to get. I've seen a few things pointed out already: like Lila totally wore bracelets before, why did Luther go chimp again, Five said Lila wasn't his type etc.. Here's a list I was compiling while I watched of things that didn't sit right or made no goddamn sense. It is by no means exhaustive (meaning that it's definitely not every issue, but definitely exhausting to write).

The whole reason Ben was killed was because he touched Jennifer. But Luther and Victor both touch "The Cleanse" during the department store scene. Luther gets stuck, but all it takes is Victor & Lila to get them out. Victor is pushed away by Ben just before he's shot. Were they both also infected and it didn't have time to stick? Or did the writers truly forget this was a plot point partway into the finale?

Quinn came in on the second meeting with Klaus's client Loretta saying "that was fast". They didn't call for him. They didn't give any indication they were done or that he should interrupt. So for all he knows, he should be walking in on them having sex. So is this poor writing in that they put in a statement that makes zero sense? Or poor writing in that they were watching Klaus "work" with surveillance camera and they just never explained that? (Which for the record that's even more screwed up.)

Speaking of which, did we just forget that Klaus has real issues with consent of his body (see season 2) and locked in small spaces with the dead (see season 1)? Or do the writers just not care and played it for laughs?

So we're down 4 episodes, but we're going to introduce 2 love triangles no one asked for (Sy, Jean, and Gene and Diego, Lila, Five)? Cool, that seems like a smart use of time.

After all the trouble Five has gone through, he's suddenly cool with changing the original timeline? Like no notes, no calculations - just down to mess things up by letting Ben live? Who are you Five? (The only calculations we saw from Five this season were a notebook he found another Five wrote - blasphemy.)

So Five is just going to conveniently find a notebook with a way out and we're never going to explain that?

Lila and Five spend 6 1/2 years searching for a way home, but Five's sad Lila picked Diego and he immediately stumbles into a Deli straight off an exit with all the Fives? And somehow that's not something he or Lila ever found?

Do the writers know how being buried alive works? Because first Klaus opened the coffin easily and then managed to accidentally fall in it and get it so stuck he couldn't get it open again. Incredibly implausible. But then wouldn't he run out of air eventually? Seems like he should have in the half a day he was in there. And I can't imagine the lighter would have been good for that situation (I'm not an expert, but any gas release, does it use air, etc.)

So Lila's family is cool with them missing for days? Claire too? I saw little to no attempt to check in, until it was convenient for the plot for Claire to say Klaus upset her when Allison calls. And multiple days seem to pass, but other than Klaus in his coffin and Ben in the hotel, there's no explanation where they slept, or that they really should be in contact with their families. And at least 2 nights pass for Ben (fight at the barn, hotel).

Ben kind of just turns into OG timeline! Ben around Jennifer. There's no explanation for his change in personality, even just that he was lonely without his family. But other than some vague "I can't stop thinking of her" there's no explanation of why they're so connected and Ben had a personality re-write. It gives us "magic made us fall in love" vibes.

I'm fully convinced that the elevator fight with Luther is a call back to CA:WS but TUA did not have either the money or the motivation to choreograph and film the fight scene, so they just waved their hands and said "close enough".

So we're just not going to explain how Five, who ostensibly is physically about 19 per canon, joined the CIA? And on top of that Five, arguably the sharpest, most paranoid character who took down the Commission in a single day in season 1, never checked into his boss or got suspicious about the CIA?

It's a 13 hour drive, but Klaus just magically got back to town on his own after ditching his family and it's never addressed? We've neither seen him drive and he doesn't seem to have a job to pay for a ride home, so I'm at a loss here. Admittedly, I'm not entirely clear how Allison got back to confront Klaus, unless she rode with Diego and Luther before their CIA trip? Though they also seems to have walked back from the CIA so I'm not sure how they got there either?

Okay, so I'll admit that Ben wouldn't necessarily know Reginald shot him. And I'm guessing Reginald wiped their memories quickly. And Ben's bullet would is less obvious in the back of the head. But you're telling me in the 15-ish years of hanging out together as each others' primary companion (12 in original timeline, 3 in the 60s), Klaus never made a dig about Ben's death? Ben never said something and Klaus repeated that weird statement from Reginald? Neither of them said anything weird about it the other one questioned? I swear that's why Klaus was written a whole separate plot with being kidnapped, so he specifically wasn't around for that scene to question or react to it. Also I'm pissed that it's very likely Klaus never knew how Ben died before he also died.

So after multiple episodes of (completely awful) jokes about Diego getting fat, you're going to actually make the character shirtless for no reason and him look exactly as he did before. I just...really?

Claire makes a comment when Allison first returns like "Why are you saving someone whose immortal?" Like what? First, okay let's assume Claire heard this about Klaus at some point (weird, but not impossible). Allison has been back for 5 minutes from the mission where Klaus got his powers back. Klaus didn't tell her. Allison didn't tell her on the phone call we saw or when she walked in. There is exactly zero reason Claire should have this information again.

Claire and Allison interrogate Quinn and all he tells them is pet cemetery. I'm concerned they don't know it's a dog or the dog's name, but I let it slide. Maybe they'll look for freshly dug holes. They're looking and they hear a dog bark to get them closer and they're like "OMG Thunderbolt". Like they're relieved they found the correct dog's grave when they have not actually been told that name before.

I'm not even going to unpack the mess that is Lila and Five here. Going to have to be a separate post.

(I will add that I'm not contesting the ending being on 8/8/24 when it should be 2025/2026 because if they've reset the timeline, the ending can really be whenever they feel like it. So I guess 1 point in the writers favor to the dozen and a half points I listed against them.)

Episode One: The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want

-Luther is a...stripper? Didn't Reggie make everyone be super smart? He went to the moon for gods sake.

-Why did Lila just do a complete one-eighty? Like, literally in the middle of a mission just, let's go look around this weird subway station? That was really just, out of left field.

-Five is really calm for a dude who ended up back in the apocalypse.

-Who is Sy? Clearly not Jennifer's dad?

summary: thousand year old vampires vs the bots messaging you on your phone… who will win?

a/n: i wrote this soooo long ago, then forgot about it! like, wrote it when all of tumblr was being attacked by bots, before things finally settled down. also, this is cheesy af ;)

“Don’t ‘hey’ me,” you mutter at the new notification on your screen.

“I didn’t say anything.”

“Oh, not you, you’re fine.”

“Wait,” Kol sits up, “who then?”

“Oh just another stupid porn bot on tumblr.”

“A what?” At your comment, Elijah looks over to you, too. 

“Oh, right. New to the twenty-first century. Um, just a person - er, not a person, a robot - messaging me for… messaging me.” You try to explain. You had almost said, ‘messaging me for sex,’ but stopped yourself immediately. 

“Messaging for what?”

Fuck. “Um…”

Elijah then asks, “did you say a robot is messaging you?”

You focus on the elder brother’s question first, “yeah. It’s actually quite common in the last couple decades. Lots of customer service people are robots, people trying to scam others can use robots, either for identity theft or whatever else… I’m not good at explaining it, but yeah.”

“So what does your robot want?”

You grimace, “it’s certainly not my robot, it’s just messaging me. But the tumblr bots all are looking for, like, sexual engagement. They message everyone because they don’t know anything about the people they are messaging, but they want bored, horny people to click on their bio links and buy their… porn.”

“You need to tell it to go away.” Kol’s jaw is tense. 

“Yeah, I’m about to block it.”

“No, you need to tell it to stop.”

“I don’t want to actually interact with them because then they’ll keep coming back. They’re like seagulls, Kol. They don’t actually understand the words I’m saying. They see engagement in any way and take it as a win.”

“Well you need to tell someone. You’re mine and they need to know that.”

“Calm down, brother.”

You put a hand on Kol’s knee. “It’s okay, they’re not gonna have me in any way. We report them to staff and block them; it’s the easiest and most effective way to deal with them. And I’m saying ‘we’ as everyone on the app who deals with them.”

“Can you stop using the app, then?”

“Oh, sweetheart… One, no. I’ll still be blogging when I’m six feet under. Two, they’re everywhere, and there’s really no escaping them.”

Elijah steps in again, “trust her, Kol, she knows what she’s doing. Y/N’s a smart girl.”

You send him a smile, then turn to your boyfriend, “I love you, Kol. Only you. I never have and never will engage with the stupid bots, okay? No one’s taking me from you.” 

He finally seems to relax after this. “I still hate them.”

“Everyone does, baby.”

“What are you three talking about?” Klaus barges into the living room. 

“Y/N just introduced us to something called a porn bot, have you heard of them?” Elijah turns to the hybrid. 

“Oh, those shucks are all over the place, can’t bloody stand them! Caroline says you block them and move on!”

He’s gone immediately after, and you turn back to Kol. “See? They even harass your brother.”

A chuckle passes his lips as he thinks of that situation. “Okay. Thank you for explaining it. I was debating if I needed to send the person a death threat, or smash your phone with a hammer.”

“Neither of those things, baby. I am completely yours, and you don’t have to worry a thing.”

Some thoughts about s1 ep8/9: Harold Jenkins/Leonard Peabody is such a good villain, possibly/factually the best in the series, but do you ever wonder how that original timeline went? When they were together minus Five, Leonard's manipulation worked exactly like he planned it to, give or take the apocalypse. Maybe Allison did die in that timeline, because Five didn't give them his name from the Commission, and they got to the cabin late. (Strike that bit! @big-ball-o-twine reminded me that Five found her body, ofc.) Leonard had more time to isolate Viktor and managed to get ahold of a black market glass eye to boot.

If he hadn't panicked, he wouldn't have been so desperate and reveal his hand, and maybe talked Viktor into storming the Academy with him in tow. Luther ripped out his eye(why?? theories please), Viktor (on Leonard's side) still freaks out and ends the world(??). Same result but a darker end for sure. I'd be curious of Leonard's body was in the academy ruins somewhere, but you'd think Five would have found it and made that connection sooner.

The dude really played it smart for a psychopath, up until he lets it out that the murdered someone for Viktor, so it's not hard to see how that would have played out. Really lucked out stealing Reggie's journal so he could study it and perfectly manipulate Viktor by teaching him what he already read about his powers.

The realistic way he's played and how terrifyingly familiar he seems (compared to most of the outlandish villains of the show) are what really make that first season work. It may not be as FUN as the others, but hey, it makes it so interesting to think about.

I could write a lot more about Leonard, but he's a creep and I don't know how much interest there is in that. But you have to admit, he's rightfully scary.

Other things:

Five trying out the glass eye on Leonard's body and saying it had "finally found its rightful home" then immediately removing it is comedy gold. What are you going to do with it now, my guy? Aside from save it until Klaus calls you an apocalypse-addict and break it against the wall for dramatic effect. (Anyone else take 20 rewatches to remember he smashed the eye in that scene?? Just me? Okay fine.)

Another seriously underrated moment is Diego's over-the-top takedown of Hazel to avenge Patch. It's so well choreographed, and there's no pulled punches, and it's so great juxtaposed with Five's heartfelt conversation with Hazel that follows. Truly a highlight, I love every choice that was made.

Five really shone in episode 9. Enough words have been written about his parting with Dolores, but what a great end to an amazing episode. (Right after that flash of Grace making pancakes for a struggling Diego, and Klaus trying to help Ben manifest, my heart.) If that department store threw her away stg.

What do you think Klaus think Five's ideal type is?

Klaus and Five are my absolute favorite dynamic, in case you hadn't noticed :)

So, here's my take. Klaus has a fandom reputation as being the out-to-lunch weirdo and screw-up (I am guilty of doing this as well). And he is...but they all are, so that's not really fair. Klaus is actually very observant of his surroundings, as well as people. It's just that he usually doesn't bother telling anybody anything of note because historically no one listens to him anyway, and after a lifetime of being ignored or laughed at, he has learned to keep most things to himself. But I would say he is the one that has actually paid closer attention to Five since he returned than any of them have.

He is the only one that acknowledges how lonely Five must have been during his time in the Apocalypse (well, Luther kind of does too I guess). He's the only one that actually listens to Five most of the time and wants to spend time with him, whereas everyone else either brushes Five off or blames him for everything ("You're a good brother"😭😭) . He notices that Five is wearing aftershave! 😂

Knowing all of that, I believe Klaus would have a really good grasp on the kind of person Five should be with. He'd be a good wing-man if they were out at a bar. I could see some very cute but dumb-looking girl wandering over to try and talk to Five, but Klaus spies her first and gets in between them, blocking her path. He looks her up and down, judging her, then starts firing questions off like some sort of sphynx with riddles that must be answered correctly before anyone can get by.

"Quick, what is the capital of Zimbabwe?"

She looks blankly up at him. "What?"

"What is the square root of 6,789 rounded to the nearest 100th?"

She stands there, blinking vacantly. "What?"

Klaus waves her off with a dismissive hand. "Shoo...get out of here. You aren't fit to breathe the same air as my brother."

He would know that Five needs someone extremely smart and nurturing, but feisty and sexual at the same time.

Five walks up to Klaus, looking confused and frowning. "The weirdest thing just happened to me. I overheard this woman say she was a pediatric oncologist that volunteers at homeless shelters, but when she walked up to the bar she threatened to kick me in the balls if I didn't get out of her way, then she smacked me on the ass."

Klaus looks excitedly around the bar. "Well don't let her get away, Fivey! Go after her!"

"What are you talking about?"

"That's your dream woman, dummy! I can hear wedding bells already! Go on...go get her, you sexy freak, you!"

Klaus turns Five around by the shoulders and shoves him in the general direction of the woman, while Five just ambles away, completely dumbfounded, but also not arguing. Klaus watches with a smile on his face as he orders another drink and silently congratulates himself on his superb match-making skills.

I feel like I could write a whole long, hilarious scenario of Klaus playing matchmaker for Five, but I'll stop since this is getting too long already. But to sum it up, Klaus would know best out of everyone who would be a good match for Five. Maybe even more than Five would! A smart, sweet, but sexy and strong lady that could hold her own against his ex-assassin brother. And probably someone he'd get along with himself, because Klaus is also a bit selfish and he wouldn't want to hang out with anyone he wasn't also compatible with. 😂

ghost x soap (cw for (legal) age gap)

He takes another look at the kid, now that he’s not planning on throwing him off the property. He’s got a bit of bulk, probably just recently started working out, and there’s a cocky energy coming off of him. Ghost would bet this is far from the first time he’s robbed someone with this little ruse, probably thinks he’s the smartest burglar in town. Too bad he chose the wrong man to try and trick this time.

Ghost straightens from the doorway, rolling back his shoulders and standing tall. The kid isn’t short by any means, but compared to Simon he’s practically little. Odds are he’s still got some growing to do, but for now Simon gets to enjoy the way he can loom over the teenager.

“No one ever taught you to respect your elders, boy?”

Oh, the kid doesn’t like that one. If he were a dog, his hackles would be fully raised, but he’s left settling for curling his lip back in a snarl. “You think just cause you’re old I have to respect you?”

“I think you’ll respect me because you’re on my property. That and I don’t think you’ll like what happens if you keep the attitude up.”

The kid flushes, either from rage or the innuendo. “Who the fuck do you think you are? You think just because we’re out here alone you can say whatever you want to me?”

“Of course not. We’re out here all alone, which means I can do whatever I want to you. And I will, if you don’t get off my property.”

The kid looks him up and down, then visibly steels himself. Ghost bites back a smirk. He’s not used to being underestimated, but he finds he doesn’t mind when it means getting to see the kid play at being his equal.

“What do you think you’ll do if I don’t go?”

Oh, Ghost can’t wait to beat the attitude out of the little brat.

He doesn’t let the kid see how much the rudeness is getting to him, intentionally keeping his face flat and unimpressed. “What’s your name, kid?”

That permanent scowl doesn’t shift, even as a flash of confusion crosses his face. “...John.”

Ghost nods. “Alright, Johnny, if you don’t get off my property, I’ll take you over my knee and teach you what your daddy should’ve.”

It’s nearly impossible to keep from grinning when Johnny’s mouth pops open in surprise, the flush creeping further up his neck. “You- you’ll- who do you think- you can’t-”

Ghost reaches out like he might slap Johnny, instead snaps right in front of his nose, sharp and loud. “Spit it out, boy. I don’t feel like listening to a kid learn how to speak all night.”

Johnny’s letting himself get worked up, and not doing a good job of hiding it. His teeth grind and he shifts from foot to foot, like he’d like to try and attack Ghost. He’s apparently smart enough to know how idiotic that would be, and Simon finds he’s almost disappointed.

Season 3 Episode 3!!

Don't be Elmer's guys. That's just mean.

I love how Diego is obviously stressed, flipping his knife, and when Stan makes one noise, he yells, "Stanley! Now is not the time to be doing karate, okay?" Like, he'd yelling but still sounds like he isn't trying to be mean. But then he says that Stan's mom isn't wrong when she says he needs to practice karate. I mean... at least he's trying.

With the way that they're siblings, I'm surprised they don't blow up at each other more. I mean, Allison is constantly blaming Five. I'd scream at her and tell her it isn't my fault, but Five just calmly says he's just the messenger.

I am in-between, however. Viktor says that Five has a good track record of this stuff, and they should listen to him. I mean, sure. If you count getting stuck in one of the apocalypse for 45 years, failing to stop it the first time, causing another one, stopping that one only to head back to their timeline where they don't exist and causing another one. But to be fair, most of it isn't his fault. And in all honesty, I'd probably be Allison, too. Blaming Five and all that. Even if I do hate it.

As much as it was unnecessary, I do actually like the random fight scene between Lila and Five. Grabbing the shampoo and squirting it in her eyes was just smart. I mean, that hurts.

Sorry, but Allison calling Fei a flock of shegulls was actually really funny.

She is dumb however for saying they had Marcus.

It seems all the hargreaves need to do is actually talk to each other. Five and Lila just walked off with both briefcases. Diego knew they had both briefcases. But Allsion and Viktor still think the Sparrows have it.

"Pills, bills, and num nums." Wow, okay. Reggie's life is sad now.

Gotta say, I really love the Five-Lila duo. They're literally just perfect. The best platonic relationship in the show.

Luther being oblivious and missing everything while he was gone is just... well, honestly, it fits for him and this family. I'm glad Diego and Luther are making buddy-buddy, tho.

And poor Stan studying the elevator 😭

Another thing I love is the father son bonding moment with Reggie and Klaus. Reg is just so out of it. Not his normal self because of the pills, but his real self still peaks through, and Klaus is literally just chilling. Talking to him like normal and giving him tips on how not to take pills.

Also, Luther wanting to make Viktor feel loved and throw him a party to welcome him to the brother side is so sweet.

I feel like Klaus is always on side missions. Doing absolutely for the plot but just there for some comedic relief. And then something will happen, like he'll find the kugelblitz in the basement and then everybody already knows, so it doesn't matter. But at least he finally knows.

When the Sparrows show up and both sides of the family face each other, people take pictures. Like that's the best thing they've ever seen. And it probably is, I mean, the superheros they know that protect their city are supposedly meeting with a random group of deranged adults. I hope they showed those photos to as many people as they could before they got kugelblitzed. Just to cause some chaos.

Also, I thought this episode was longer. I desperately want to watch the next episode to watch the interactions with Harlan and Lila saying she'll miss Five, but I'll wait.

The Mikaelsons at Hogwarts: Students and Teachers

Elijah Mikaelson:

Student- He would absolutely be a Ravenclaw but that one Ravenclaw who is smarter than everyone including the teacher and yet never turns in the homework at all (but passes all his OWLs with Outstandings every time). Elijah was also a very talented Quidditch player, enjoying his role as a Keeper and staying on the team all 6 years after his first year watching from the stands and becoming obsessed. He actually went on to play on a professional team for quite some time after school.

Teacher- He would probably teach Ancient Runes and while everyone would hate the class they would love him and appreciate how he actually makes the class enjoyable. He would be best friends with Professor McGonagall 100% and would be one of the toughest graders in the entire school despite being generous with his help

Klaus Mikaelson:

Student- Klaus would be a Slytherin and while he would be cocky about it to everyone, he would actually hate it and believe that he was destined to be everything his father told him he was. However he would eventually let go of that worry as his best friend (who is a Hufflepuff) constantly tells him how smart and good he really is and will stick up for him to everybody that teases him in anyway (despite the fact that she cannot stick up for herself and Klaus has to do it whenever someone makes fun of his sweet, innocent friend). He is a talented student and excels in potions and charms, often Hexing whatever Gryffindor was mean to his sweet Hufflepuff for being friends with “evil wizards”.

Teacher- Klaus would teach Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid and he would be the only one who could reign him in, though he also enjoyed Hagrids love of creatures and helped him learn about them (even gaining the trust of the werewolf pack in the Forbidden Forest as well as being on good terms with the Centaurs). He would also teach an elective Muggle Arts class for students that love to be artistic to have an outlet in a school where such things aren’t considered important, wanting students like he would have been to have somewhere to go and not feel judged for being different.

Kol Mikaelson:

Student- Kol would probably be a Hufflepuff and while he would be the kind of student that coasts along the middle when it comes to grades, he would be friends with almost everyone regardless of their house. He would be incredibly talented with Charms of any sort (including Jinx’s and Hexes) and teach his friends more than their own teachers did on a regular basis. Kol would be one of the most talented wizard in his year by far.

Teacher- As a teacher Kol would definitely be the fun one that every student loves. He would teach Charms class and take it very seriously even while still allowing the students to enjoy themselves. He would be a hard grader but also be the type to help students and offer extra credit to kids that are actually trying their best and just not being the best in Charms. He’s also the kind of teacher who would happily try and help his students to find a class they enjoy and excel in, often signing his kids up for Hagrid and Klaus’ class. Kol was also very prone to creating his own charms which often ended with him visiting Madam Pomfrey at least once a week.

Rebekah Mikaelson:

Student- Rebekah would be a Ravenclaw like her older brother but she would focus on her studies far more than Elijah did. She would be a good student but would definitely excel more if she wasn’t constantly hanging on whatever Slytherin boyfriend she had that month. Rebekah would always put too much effort into whatever Slytherin boy was interested in her

Teacher- She would teach Herbology, loving her garden that she had been given permission to grow herself in a special clearing in the Forbidden Forest. She became good friends with Professor Snape and often grew unique plants for him to use in his advanced potions or stock his stores with things that were hard to find (as very few witches in the world were as talented in Herbology as Rebekah) or were too expensive. She was a fantastic teacher and very easy on her students, taking the time twice a week to have an advanced class for students who wanted extra credit and to learn harder material

the world was literally ending, him and diego were the only ones to show concern for klaus at all. he went to check on klaus and then found out about the breifcase, which would obviously piss him off because they couldve used it to their advantage to save them. if he failed, klaus was going to die in a few days anyway

a lot of fives actions throughout the series can be explained by the fact that the entire show literally takes place across like 20 very stressful days for him, instead of years like the others. yet, he still makes time to be there for his family

hes obviously not perfect especially his past (murdering people) but i dont think you can spend 40 years isolated in an apoctolyptic wasteland without coming out like. a little bit messed up.

if his actions are not motivated by his love for his family, genuinly, what is he motivated by? thats like, the entire point of his character. hes willing to do anything, literally anything, to get back to his family and save them (and the rest of the world, but that always seemed like a lesser priority to me) from the apocolyspe.

the only time his shows what looks like a lack of concern for his family is when they are going to die either way. im pretty sure he counts victor as too far gone towards the end of s1 but thats because victor will die in a few hours either way, and he has too count his losses to save the rest of his family

if he just wanted to save the world, why involve his family so much? from his point of veiw, they only seem to slow him down. the first thing he does arriving in the 1960s is try to find his family. hes already abandoned 2 timelines for their sake. the first time is out of necessity, but the second time he decides to take his family and leave, instead of fixing the 1960s timeline.

his love for his family is like. the entire crux of his character im afraid. hes kind of a neurotic, unpleasent mess most of the time *but* he loves and will do anything for his family. thats what makes him a compelling character

I want to start by saying, I'm not here to convince you that my interpretation of Five is right or that yours is wrong. The love you have for the character is yours and I'm glad you have it :)

Since you asked, his consistent belittling of his family and dismissal of their opinions and concerns, even if for a good reason, is not a show of love. There are many abusive relationships that have affection in them, but are unhealthy because one person in the relationship believes that whatever they have going on is more important than the other's, or that the other person(s) can't help them because they aren't smart or skilled enough.

Re: Klaus and the briefcase, he doesn't really have a right to be angry with Klaus for destroying the briefcase when he never respected Klaus enough to include him in his plans or share his knowledge with him. Remember, Klaus destroys the briefcase before Five tells them the apocalypse is coming. He has no idea there is an impending doom that time travel would be crucial to helping, <I was wrong here, see comments> nor does he have any reason to believe this briefcase does anything but transport someone into the middle of the Vietnam War.

As I said in my post, I believe Five cares about his family, but his disrespect for them prevents this care from maturing to actual love, at least at this point in the series. He wants to save them the way someone may want to save a pet. He doesn't see them as equals who can contribute to the mission, but as precious things he has to care for. As you mention, from his perspective they only slow him down. If there were people in my life who I saw as nothing but impediments to my goals, I don't think I could in fairness say that I loved them above all else.

I don't think we can accurately say that he will do anything for his family because there are a few things he won't do for them. He won't slow down his Apocalypse mission to listen to and get to know them. He won't be completely open and honest with them about the severity of their situation from the beginning. He won't include them in his plans if he's already deemed them useless. He won't hear their input and make any changes to his plans based on what matters to them.

I will grant you that these things make him a compelling character, but I don't think I've ever argued against that. What I've said is that I don't like him and even while making a conscious effort to have more empathy for him, I still find a lot of his actions to be worthy of critique.

Elijah attempts to spare Davina fail.

He’s being a coward, Marcel had asked him to help Davina by letting his son siphoning some of the access magic overwhelming her and Elijah had taken it instead of going to Sophie, better to focus on Davina than the betrayal he felt from them breaking his word to Celeste.

The idea she could be back. 

He had stayed with Davina after he had first woken from his last daggering, visited her even after his return to his family and he hadn’t looked at her pictures to be distracted by everything else. 

Besides there hadn’t been a reason not to, Davina was being overwhelmed by her magic and his son was able to draw magic into himself, he lived off it, there shouldn’t have been any harm.

It was going normally at first as soon as he had laid a hand on Davina’s wrist the tremors around them had died down.

“It’s working.” Davina sighed in relief as he could feel Marcel echo it, he had smiled, relieved to be able to help, Davina was so achingly young despite her strong personality and stubborn will but there were some things strength of will could not beat.

It wasn’t until some time later after being left alone with her that his smile had fallen as the growing twisting feeling grew until it spiked and he flinched.

He had tried to keep it from her, to not scare Davina but she was close enough to have felt him flinch.

“Elijah? What's wrong?” she asked, still suffering from some of the drawbacks.

“It’s fine.” he told her, gritting his teeth as his voice stuttered another sharp pain of pain coming from his stomach, cramps. 

He bit his cheek at the realisation because there was too much power, too much for a teenage girl and far too much for an unborn child and his son didn’t understand the concept of moderation and was trying to take it all.

“It’s the baby,” she realised, far too smart for the rest of them, really, ”no it’s too much, you're taking too much, it's hurting you both.”

“We’re fine,” he whispered, he had promised her she could be part of his son’s life, Auntie D Marcel had called and she had beamed, like sunlight itself, he meant it. He just had to hold on, they could do this, his son had survived him being dead for the first five months.

“You have to stop.” she said, her smaller hand curling around his.

“Hang on.” he replied, he could feel the magic being taken from her he just had to find a way to cut it from reaching his son, let the magic siphon into him, it wasn’t like it could kill him.

“No, no, no” she pleaded, shaking her head at him, she was too good even at the price of her own life she wouldn’t endanger someone innocent.  “I don't want to hurt him.” she told him firmly.

A wave of pain weakened his grasp Elijah choked suddenly curled forward around his belly, Davina tore her hand from him but it made no difference as Elijah flinched again letting out another groan of pain before his legs trembled and he landed on the floor.

Even no longer touching his child was still drawing on the magic surrounding her, and he realised in a moment of horror he hadn’t the strength to get up and distance himself from her.

“MARCEL!!” Davina screamed as she seemed to realise the same.

He heard Marcel arrive in the doorways within seconds, Niklaus behind him.

“What?” Marcel called in concern looking between them.

“Get him out! Away from me!” she ordered, “It’s hurting the baby and him.” she had barely finished before Klaus was between them and picked him up.

Elijah swore as Klaus laid him down on one of the sofas furthest from Davina, he hated weakness and as much as this child was a gift, he was causing Elijah to fall far too much.

“Elijah? Brother, look at me.” Klaus called softy, Elijah blinked as he noticed he had curled around his stomach, a hand on his cheek forced him to look at his brother.

“What happened?” Niklaus asked again irritatingly softly, he had been little that since he had realised the child was weakening Elijah, as much as Elijah was pleased by this new softer Niklaus for the children, he was unused to have anything of that directed at him.

“My son tried to take all the power.” Elijah explained as he slowly straightened up as the pain had vanished, Klaus reached out to help steady him as he sat up.

“It seems my nephew doesn’t understand limits.” Klaus joked, with almost pride to cover the clear concerns.

“He’s not even born yet and I endanger him by using him.” Elijah couldn’t stop the words from escaping him even as he felt him move under his hand.

“You were trying to help Davina.” Niklaus offered, even though he had clearly thought it a waste of time, “How is he?” 

“Settling.” Elijah sighed.

Thoughts on TO S1/EP1

So, I finally went down the rabbit hole and decided to watch The Originals. Pray for me. 😂

Here are my thoughts:

Magical Baby Plot:

This is literally a forced loophole—thanks, but no thanks. 🙅🏻‍♀️ Klaus being lured back to NOLA with the news that Hayley is pregnant with his magical baby. Is just not the biz. While the baby plot is obviously a significant driving force for the narrative, it seems implausible that Klaus, a vampire for over 1000 years, could father a child. Fuck outta here with that shit.

Klaus:

Will forever be my baby. There's no if's, and's or but's. He's still his little villainous self, and I'm here for it. This will NEVER change.

Elijah:

This man will obviously go through hell and highwater for his brother, but he needs to know when to give up. Elijah searching for his 1000+ year old baby brother will never not be funny to me. He’s the Steve Harrington of the TVDU (fight me on it). We all know that his ass will be daggered in the next episode without fail. He obviously can't seem to comprehend that while Klaus loves his family he also sees them as a weakness, and he would rather put his bro to sleep than lose him to a dumb baby plot twist.

Rebekah:

My girl Beks is currently angry at Klaus and refuses to help Elijah find him, which in all honesty, her ire is well deserved. She's been treated like shit for ages. It was about time she stood up for herself. 👏👏👏

Marcel:

I love that they gave Klaus a long lost adopted son! Now THIS is a plot twist. He was believed to be dead and rotting somewhere, but my man is now the king of NOLA and rules the city with an iron fist who has total control over every supernatural creature within it. He’s shaping up to be my favorite out of all the new characters introduced so far.  He’s also fineeeeee as fuck! 😋

Quarter Witches:

They’re okay so far, but honestly, they could have gotten pretty far if they had just let Klaus and Elijah kill Marcel/Hayley right off the bat. Instead of following a bunch of idiotic rules. It was smart of them to link Sophie and Hayley, though. It gave them leverage with The Originals, which is what they wanted. Still deciding if I like them or not.

Camille:

I’m trying to give her a chance, but it’s a feat let me tell you. I didn’t think she would break out the psychology card so quickly, tbh. I’ll look past it, for now. I can say that she does have a teeny bit of chemistry with Elijah…I really liked their 1st scene together. It looks like they'd be a good match.

Quick question: I thought Camille was still studying to become a psychologist? But, she mentions that she already has a grad degree in this episode. Can someone clear this up for me?

Davina: 

Seems pretty cool. I want to learn more about her and what she can do. Let's see where they take her character. Since we all know that having strong female characters on these shows is not something that the writers really like. 

Overall, given Klaus' brutal and decisive nature, it's surprising that he didn't eliminate all threats immediately to take control of the city. But, I can also see why he wouldn't as he sees the potential the city he once lived in still has. Moreover, I'm a little annoyed at Elijah during this episode. In all honesty, it's Elijah's fault that they ended up in the mess that follows. Elijah sees the baby as a way to redeem Klaus, but it feels unrealistic to force Klaus into a role he’s never desired. Klaus has always craved power, loyalty, and family, but not necessarily a baby. This dream seems more in line with Elijah’s personality, who has always exhibited gentlemanly and family-oriented behavior. Though I still love Elijah, he really irked my nerves in this first episode. I will say that I'm loving the more in-depth look into the complex sibling relationships that we didn’t get enough of on TVD. On another note, I think it would have been a good plot twist to try and lure Klaus to NOLA by using Marcel as a pawn somehow instead of a baby. You can clearly see that he still cares for him in his own twisted way. I hope we get to see more of their dynamic as the show goes on.

Overwatch - probably Tracer. I mean girl knows stuff and can literally pick you up and run like tons of meters in matter of seconds if there would be danger in coming. Or Genji as he probably knows how to survive, but we’d probably kill each other

Maze Runner - Sonya. She’s smart and definetly knows how to survive

Hunger Games - Finnick Odair. My man knows what he’s doing, like sure he isn’t the only one who won the Hunger Games, but in Catching Fire his allies… well would be dead without him, I mean sure Katniss also knows how to survive, but c’mon, she ain’t that experienced as Finnick

Harry Potter - Easy, Hermione Granger. Surely we’d have arguments sometimes, but we’d literally have that dynamic of “one is brain one is strength”

Arcane - Kidna tricky, but I’m going with Vi. I was thinking Caitlyn, but she’s more book-smart than street-smart and you kidna need street smartness in these situations

Divergent - As much as I hate to say it I’m going with Caleb Prior. He’s smart and would just say what would be the best way to survive. Plus he’d work extra hard to get out of there alive ‘cause he wouldn’t last a good day with me there

The 100 - This is kidna also tricky. I’m gonna go with Clarke as she’s a medic and is really smart (at least in the books) and like sure I could choose Lexa or Raven, but Lexa would probably end up killing me and I don’t think that Raven despite being smarter than both Clarke and Lexa… she’s smart with machines…

Detroit Become Human - Easy. Connor RK800 deviat. He’s ready for survival, like fuck empathy etc. If we gotta survive we gotta be smart. So Connor is smart af and skilled af and by him being a deviant and not a machine, he’d be more open to do things that aren’t part of his program.

The Legend of Korra - Yeah normally I’d say Korra, but I’m going with Kuvira on this one. She’s always five bloody steps ahead of others and it’s a desert. And what’s in desert under the sand. Earth. She could literally do anything

Avatar The Last Airbender - Okay I’ve got two options here. Either Katara or Aang. If there would be near some sea or ocean we’re going bon voyage home, but if there wouldn’t be I’d go with Aang ‘cause he literally masters air. Bon voyage guys, we’re flying home

The Arrow - Sara Lance. As much as I’d say Oliver I think he’d make some fucked up decision, but with Sara… we’d survive… mainly thanks to her though…

The Umbrella Academy - If it were only about surviving then it’s easy. Five. Like bon voyage teleport us away from the danger or home and you’re literally an assasin

The Sparrow Academy - Everyone there is an idiot so if I’m gonna die then let me at least die with someone funny like Jayme

The Last of Us 1 - Joel. He knows what he’s doing, he’s not old yet so he doesn’t have so many body barriers

The Last of Us 2 - Now, I know I wouldn’t choose Joel as now he’s older and surely his body wouldn’t be able to take some things like it would when he was younger. So I’m kidna torn between Dina or Ellie. Dina is smart along with Ellie, but probably Dina as she wouldn’t be “first punch then ask” 24/7

Horizon Zero Dawn - Aloy. Easy. As much as it’d be due to being smart better with Sylens one of us would be definetly dead by noon, Aloy is both smart and strong and we’d get along

Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse - Pavitr. Let’s face it, if I’m gonna die let me die with someone funny

Nimona - Uh… Nimona probably as she’d shapeshift into a bloody dragon and we’re flying home or at least getting rid of the danger

Outer Banks - Well… um… Cleo? She’s street-smart af and we need that. Or JJ, but we’d probably end up fucked up as things would go down the hill

Five Nights at Freddy’s - Vanessa. We’d figure something out and I’m sure she knows a thing of two about survival

Afton Family - Michael Afton. We’re both gonna die, but at least it’ll be a bit funny and we’d have some good convos

The Old Guard - Ah um… Andy or Nile. Like… okay Andy as she’s experienced af and she sure knows what to do and we’d definetly not be bored

Willow - Okay, my first thought was Elora, but no. We wouldn’t make it. So Jade is the safest option here I think. She’s smart, brave, rational, quick on her feet and determinated

Percy Jackson serie - Probably Luke Castellan. We all saw what he is like and how smart he is. And now sure the question would be “well why not Annabeth?” ‘Cause Annabeth from the show is straight up a bitch
