There's a whole bunch of things I gotta say Abt act 3 that I don't have time to, but my god the SYMBOLISM, so I'm just gonna do the couple of obvious ones that stuck out to me.

Spoiler warning ofc.

In ep7 when jayce was in the pit, he broke his leg and used the design for viktors leg brace (which he knew well enough to recreate, the two likely worked on it together in the past which I love) and then painstakingly climbs out. He's in the undercity at the time.

The whole sequence, due to him wearing the leg brace, is very unsubtly a parallel to Viktors journey of metaphorically crawling his way up out of Zaun and into Piltover. Which is to be assumed as his backstory before meeting Jayce, and was probably still something he felt like he was doing his whole life.

(Also hallucinating both Mel and Viktor in the same place is very bisexual behavior Jayce. and adds to the parallels between Mel and Viktor, they're both mages that go through physical transformation this season, and whole bunch of other scene parallels)

In ep 9, during their little gay transcendence scene he basically tells Viktor he's perfect, that he admired everything about him and that his leg and his illness were never flaws etc. Last season also ended with Silco telling Jinx she's perfect.

Which I think its neat we got that happening at the end of both seasons, in a show where identity is so important, (and toward two of the main physically and mentally disabled characters specifically). Personally I loved Jayce including Viktors leg as being a part of him and therefore something he loved as well, that he never needed to feel ashamed about

Again in ep 9 at the end, when Vi is holding Jinx and Warwick over the ledge. This kinda parallels s1 act 1. (With the obvious first scene of teen and tween Vi and powder on the roof in piltover, where Powder falls but Vi is there to pull her back up)

Vi wanting to save Vander, Jinx trying to save Vi when that goes wrong. Now Jinx is hanging there with the literal weight of her dead family weighing her down, as Vi holds onto her trying to pull her up, despite the baggage being to heavy but being unable to let go. Vander so well representing the guilt and trauma she carries with her.

In the end she knows she'll pull Vi down with her too, so she forces her to let go. By stealing the hex crystal, which is what started this whole mess, but is such a jinx moment of quick thinking.

God I bawled at the end there I kept thinking they've gotta have another scene that shows maybe she didn't die, or Ekko came to save her again, but no.

I'd go into more detail cause there's just SO much about this season but I've gotta go and I'm sure someone else will cover everything. The show was just phenomenal.

Such a great sequence - where Eun Ha got punched out by another little girl for touching her pretty doll and that girl's bitch mother refuses to apologize because this is the road to thievery etc etc and Ji Won gets angrier and angrier. And then HS shows up and I love the bitch mom being a little lost at how aggressively nice he is (he literally comes in and apologizes in the same breath.) And then:

Yes, he makes his beloved daughter to apologize to the girl who punched her and does not demand apology at all. You see the teacher melt and feel sooooo bad. And then there is this little argument between JW and HS - and it's so telling, she is coming from the position of just world and how you need to stand up for yourself openly and she's never had to be the weaker or dissemble to survive - she acts like a sane person with a happy life.

Meanwhile, HS with his background is all about how it looks.

That is something that has never been true in HS' life.

But also yeah, he's accepted he doesn't understand people on an emotional level but he knows what makes them react so...it's all the study.

Their view of the problem is different, isn't it? He's trying to protect Eun Ha from being labeled a troublemaker (because he knows how that can explode) and she's trying to protect Eun Ha's sense of justice (something he's never had but she believes in.)

And then the whole "I see she's mad, I really MUST make sure she's not mad" - he's so desperately attuned. And he doesn't stop until he sees she's not mad any more.

This scene with Eun Ha is one of my faves. Because he's taken her to eat egg tarts, her fave, and she's mad.

His explanation!!!! This sums up his life - he's been abused his whole life as the son of a serial killer and treated so nicely when he changed his identity as son of a hospital director (I mean, later in the ep, that dude tries to justify attempting to murder him back when even tho they were roommates and he was nothing but nice but the dude wanted his cash, by saying oh he must have been an evil killer.)

The way he got revenge for her by stealing that girl's doll that the fight was over and throwing it out.

And he buys her more egg tarts.

He fights for her in his own dysfunctional way, the way nobody ever did for him.

THE JURI EPISODE (My utena fansub ep 7)

This is my favourite episode of the whole show. My phone background has been the shot of the falling sword ever since I first saw it. I love everything about it, so I really wanted to be sure I did it justice in the translation!

ただもし彼女が本当に世界を革命する力があるというなら私がこの手で奪ってやるさ。

But if Utena truly possesses the Power to Revolutionise the World, I’ll steal it from them.

BIG MOMENT! This is the first time one of the student council uses they/them for Utena. You may notice that the Japanese is 彼女, often translated as “she”. So why am I translating it as “they”?

In the fountain scene, Juri draws a parallel between Utena and Shiori. She begins to frame all of Utena’s behaviour through a lens of heterosexual lust/love, which makes her completely flip out as it makes her feel more alone than ever because (I believe) she saw a kindred spirit in Utena’s gender non-conformity, and sees that cameraderie dry up because of the phantasm of heterosexuality.

After the duel, Juri has rediscovered hope in herself and in the world. I believe part of this is because she realises she was wrong about Utena. Their duel is essentially over whether Utena is deserving of the ring, which, to Juri, is a question of whether Utena is really driven by heterosexual love. Through her loss she is forced to admit that she was wrong, that Utena is not motivated by heterosexual love for the prince, and there was and still is a cameraderie there. Using “they” is an admission that she was wrong, and an indication that she understands Utena a little more. It’s in direct contrast to the fountain scene when she calls Utena “a little girl”.

That’s my interpretation anyway. Anya’s interpretation is that Juri is distancing herself from Utena in this scene; that Juri has realised that “miracles are real, just not for me”. In this interpretation, “they” also makes sense — by gendering Utena as nonbinary, Juri reaffirms her position as the only girl in the duel system. She is attempting to process the idea that Utena is special by distancing them from womanhood (and therefore she, a woman, is doomed to live without miracles).

“Sure sure, there’s lots of narrative justification for it,” I hear you say, “but it’s simply not in the original japanese script!”

Well, actually, there’s justification for this too. 1. Utena’s use of 僕 (boku) is untranslatable — we lose that gendered meaning in translation. It needs to be added back in somewhere, and this is the place. It’s not a perfect compensation (boku is self-identifying while “they” is an external identification) but based on the narrative elements I’ve mentioned above, I think it’s acceptable. 2. Japanese rarely uses third person pronouns, and doesn’t have a gender neutral one. I think Juri uses it here because she doesn’t want to say Utena’s name (still a bit sore from the loss?) so I don’t see the gendering here as being important to keep in the translation.

Like I said above, for Juri, this duel is about whether or not Utena is driven by heterosexual love. 自惚れる is usually translated as “to be conceited” but here, Juri is saying that she’ll allow Utena to keep pining for her lost prince with the alternative being that she will shatter Utena’s dreams. With that in mind I thought it better to phrase it in a way that extends and makes clear Juri’s resentment of Utena.

This was the hardest line in the whole episode. I went through several iterations:

Believe in a miracle, and your feelings will be returned.

If you believe in a miracle, he’ll love you back.

Just believe in miracles, and your love will be returned.

Miracles can happen. Your true love will love you back.

The phrase 思いは届く literally means “your thoughts will reach their destination”. In practice it means something like “your feelings will be understood and reciprocated”, and it was hard to find an English phrase that had a similar meaning while still sounding good as a repeatable quote. Anya’s keen eye for natural and polished dialogue really helped here, as they were able to pick the best sounding combination of first- and second-halves of the line. We ended up with

Believe in miracles, and your love will be returned.

im finally rewatching ep 3 and i remembered that i meant to make a post abt how captain christ is sus as hell. as in this whole scheme he's got going with kant to me feels less like a legitimate (or as close to legit as it can be given the circumstances) investigation into a string of high profile murders and more like some kind of personal vendetta he has, maybe even w lilly specifically. and i have no basis for that other than how odd christ's reaction was when kant told him fadel and bison have different dads. idk the vibes are just off. there's something not right abt him. the whole situation stinks.

speaking of lilly tho i don't believe for one minute she's got her sons out there ridding the streets of bad men in some act of vigilante justice. bison literally calls it out in the first scene, saying that he'd seen their next target helping poor kids on the news or whatever. and yeah ok bad men often do good deeds, and ofc lilly uses that to try to belittle bison by saying that he's always been easily fooled by appearances. which is a little on the nose given the whole kant thing, but i think that actually the point was that she's referring to herself. as in she's the one doing the fooling this whole time w her conditional kindness and her weaponised warmth. helping poor kids while doing bad things behind the scenes. yknow. a common modus operandi in these circles i'm sure.

anyways my original point is that she tries to make out bison is naive and silly for even asking but at the same time the reasoning she offers them for why that guy has to die is vague as fuck. 'he's the man behind corruptions, drugs, human trafficking, and so much more'??? she might as well have said he steals food straight out of the mouths of the kids he claims to be helping too seeing as tho we're just saying shit. like girl cmon. you're an entrepreneur. i know you've trained those boys not to question you at all but lets try a little bit harder queen <3

i also do think lilly had smth to do w whatever happened to fadel's ex and that that might be why he lied to her when she asked if bison is seeing someone. at least partially. if he knows what she's capable of in that sense then he'd want to keep that shit under wraps, not for kant's sake but for bison's. i've said it before but bison's ignorance only exists bc fadel has worked his ass off to keep it that way. i feel like fadel knows, or at least suspects, that lilly isn't the woman she wants them to believe she is. but ofc fadel isn't gonna tell bison that. ignorance is bliss, and even if it wasn't that's their mother. her and bison clearly have a (relatively) warm relationship. fadel wouldn't want to ruin that with the truth.

also i don't trust style's dad either. why include a character in the intro that is seemingly so unimportant? what the fuck is up with the whole 'boonterm' thing? style's dad is obviously at LEAST mechanic running in these 'bad guy' circles considering style had to drop off the secretary's car to her. which like. idk what kinda bougie ass mechanics rich ppl be having but having your car dropped off to you - by the mechanic's son no less - at some random host bar instead of having to go pick it up seems like special treatment. like maybe it's not just a simple mechanic/customer relationship yk

and u know what as i'm typing this i'm thinking about the spiderweb motif that occurs in the show, first in kant's tattoo and then with keen in the intro (and he has spiderweb tattoos too i think?) and how everyone speculated they may be exes and maybe they are. but like. i also think it's more than that. like i just think that in this show there are a lot of people caught in a lot of webs who haven't yet realised they're the fly, not the spider. yknow.

Ling Miaomiao, drama consumer extraordinaire spends her whole day off reading a brand new book by her favorite fantasy author only for it to turn out to be a rank, idiotic, mediocre romance!! The betrayal!!

Miaomiao now somewhat bemused to find herself in aforementioned mediocre romance as the no-good, no-brain, vicious secondary female lead, trapped by a System into playing out that role.

Omg hi!! It’s this actress!! Off the top of my head, she showed up last year in A Journey to Love as the empress and in TTEOTM as the SFL. Her character, the mirror demon, gets immediately defeated, but she also apparently has an official character poster. Possibilities: she’s relevant again later (who’s this master she mentions?); they wanted to show off this sick-ass character design (who can blame them); they were marketing to her fans (most likely option).

Meet our secondary leads! This moment is a good example of showing the audience how Fuyi and Mu Yao were the original novel’s leads.

After TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES, our male lead finally shows up in style via guitar riff accompanied song, blasting in as a fireball, single-handedly beating our little mirror demon.

Miaomiao and Mu Sheng… do not hit it off. He’s insanely protective of his sister and is (justifiably) suspicious that Lin Yu (the character Miaomiao has entered) has bad intentions. But they do have pretty intense chemistry! Mu Sheng is sneaky, crafty, petty, often quite mean, and the baby brother of all time. He also operates on a slightly different moral system than either Fuyi or Mu Yao. The scene before this one, he is about to kill the mirror demon despite Fuyi’s directives because she hurt Mu Yao, until he gets distracted looking after Mu Yao because the mirror demon hurt her. 🤷 Essentially, at this point his motivations can be boiled down to “A-jie?? Is a-jie okay??? If you hurt a-jie, die!! If you fail to pay proper attention to a-jie, die!!! If you steal my a-jie’s attention, DIEEEEEEEE!!!!!”

After defeating the mirror demon, Miaomiao meets her character’s dad, who by complete coincidence is played by the same actor as HER dad, who is dead. THAT’S RIGHT, BABY!! DADDY ISSUES WILL LITERALLY FOLLOW YOU WHEREVER YOU GO!!!

New Marshall Pics! (Season 11, Ep. 04)

Yet another new episode aired in Canada today, so I've got some new pics to show off!

The first segment - "Pups Save Helga and the Humsquatch"

I was curious about this one at first, as I quite like Helga and I don't mind the Humsquatch. Sadly, it became yet another instance in which the pups were barely seen until the mission, which by default, is something I never like to see. Otherwise, the mission part itself wasn't memorable, so there's not much to say there. If anything, I'm glad they called Marshall in as backup later, but we only got to see him for like five seconds. Not a great segment. Moving on~

The second segment - "Pups Save the Missing Bone-Stone"

Sweetie's in this one, who just-so-happened to be in town for reasons. I guess she heard about the bone stone and wanted to steal it? She does help out at one point, but it ends about how you'd expect, including a certain copter pup suddenly showing up near the end to help resolve the mission. Zuma popped up too, albeit very briefly. The whole thing was "meh" to me. If anything, it was cool seeing Spy Chase in this one, which gives me some hope we'll see EMT Marshall at some point, too.

Racing Ahead

When Tech is more than willing to race to save you and Cid from the claws of Cid’s old acquaintance, how do you feel when he steals something for good luck.

warnings: scenes used from Ep 4 of TBB S2, mutual pining and tooth rotting fluff. Reader is gender neutral. Not proofread.

All of Tech’s hard work shattered before his eyes and even though you personally found TAY-0 to be one of the most arrogant and irritating droids alive, it was harrowing seeing him get blasted by a racer. Just before the race to get Cid back was about to begin, too.

“Tough luck, looks like a forfeit.” Millegi snidely comments, a smirk on his face. You look up at the Dowutin, eyes glaring daggers which you now came to realise was a fateful decision as that smirk grows wider.

“You know, I like things to be even too. So double the money… and double the crew.” His hand reaches down, clasping over your shoulder and brings you harshly into his chest with your back.

“Let them go.” Tech speaks with sense of overpowering protectiveness, hand placed on his holster ready to shoot if need be.

“Uh, this wasn’t part of the deal!” You squirm in his grasp only to be pushed back towards the other of his little cronies where they kept you more securely from running off.

“That’s hustlin for you. Cid should have taught you all about that.” He guffaws but that’s when something in Tech had snapped.

“I’ll be the racer.”

Your eyes widened and your squirming quickly subsided as you shook your head at him. “Tech, no. It’s far too dangerous.” You couldn’t believe what he was saying.

“This is something I have to do. There is not a choice in this.” He didn’t even look at you as he spoke, eyes glaring at the men in front of him with venom in his eyes. Seeing you being manhandled like that shot a course of panic and determination through his veins and if he had to race one hundred times to get you back, he would.

Eyes widening in a mix of horror and shock, you keep protesting although there is not really any alternative option. But, Tech’s face showed the greatest determination he had ever displayed and it was all in favor of you. Well, and Cid.

Although you shouldn’t feel grateful, Millegi kindly told you that you could say your ‘goodbyes’ as he put it and allowed you to spend five minutes with Tech before the race was to begin.

When you could finally see him, he’s by the speeder he had fixed up, over analyzing every small detail. Even Omega and Wrecker had to sit back and watch, chewing their fingernails to subdue their hanging anxiety.

“Tech, what are you doing? This is madness! You don’t even know how to race.” You join his side, his eyes briefly meeting yours before looking back at the layout of the track on his datapad.

“I have surveyed the whole layout and I think the favors are in my court.” He says as a matter of fact but there’s still nerves in both of your stomachs.

“You could die.” You point out, replaying the scenes of the previous two races in your head after seeing what happened to those contestants.

Tech drops his datapad and switches for a spanner, making a small alteration on the speeder and practically ignores your statement.

He knew the risks to this sport but he could not sit back and do nothing. He had no time to fix TAY-0 so this was the only solution. He freezes however, feeling something place on his forearm and he looks to see your hand. “Tech.”

He sighs a little and looks over to you. “We should have never agreed to come do this mission for Cid. It had too many risks that I had not calculated before coming.”

“We didn’t know this would happen.”

“That may be so, but look at what predicament it has got you in.” His voice is stern but of course laced with concern.

“Millegi said he wasn’t going to kill me,” you recite back to a small conversation you had with your capturer before he allowed you to come see Tech, “Cid however…”

“To be fair, I care less about Cid in comparison to you. Too often she has left us in dangerous situations and it isn’t the first time we have had to rescue her.” Tech is pacing now, rambling and talking with his hands. “Death or not, I refuse to let you be taken.”

A tannoy announcement blares, indicating that there’s two minutes to go and that Racers should make their way to the starting line. The two of you look at one another, hearts racing.

You felt a strong connection to Tech, always have done since you first step foot in the Marauder. You were one of the few who would listen to his ramblings and never get bored and of course, he noticed this. At first he thought nothing of it but when you started to callback to previous things he had said, his heart began to swell in awe. His feelings began to fester until they finally bloomed and he was rather smitten with you. Which was why he did not hesitate to come to your aid.

If Tech was going to lose or possibly die in the next ten minutes, he knew he could not live these final moments in regret. Although he is confident and favors himself a 89.45% chance of winning if his plan goes correctly, there is something that could boost his confidence.

He throws his tools and datapad to the side on the workbench, grabs his helmet before he quickly crosses over to you like a man on a mission.

You stumble back a little, the very quick close proximity surprising you. “I am not a man who necessarily believes in luck. In fact, strategy and logistics is my forte but I can not risk this enough to not gain any more luck.”

Before you could even ask what it was he had in mind, his hand is on your waist and you’re flushed to his body whilst his lips ascend upon yours. Your eyes are wide in shock, hands coming up but unsure where to place them so they’re left dangling awkwardly in the air as his eyes knit tightly closed, savoring the feeling of your lips against his. You’re pushed into the workbench, all your senses overwhelmed that you can’t even process what is truly happening. When he pulled away, he let out a shaken exhale.

“That should have done the trick. I shall see you at the finish line.” He nods simply before he moves around you and gets ready to race.

You remain rooted to your spot, dazed but your skin burnt with a glorious glow of blush after Tech, the Tech, kissed you. Although he had gone and is out of ear shot, you whispered a small good luck before making your way back to the private lounge.

After countless tight calls, Tech renders victorious. You had to refrain from cheering in front of Millegi who had a face like a slapped Bantha’s backside. But, a deal was a deal and he sets you free with Cid too.

When you saw him on the big screen, watching the audience cheer for him you almost wept in great pride. Sometimes his work is not appreciated by his brothers but seeing him get the praise he deserved made your heart full.

Once back with them you’re hugging Wrecker and Omega closely and happy to be reunited but as you peer over Omega’s shoulder, Tech stands tall with a very shy expression. “I’ll uh- catch up with you guys in a minute.”

Tech steps towards you, relieved to see you unharmed and very much alive. As if there was any doubt. “I told you I would not allow them to take you.”

“I didn’t think you would.” You smile softly, a blush already creeping up your neck and ears just by being close with him again. You wanted to mention the surprising kiss but your heart would simply shatter if you found out it meant nothing. But, when Tech takes another daring move - clearly on a high after his win - he takes your hand in his and brings you close.

“I’ll take it you are wondering as to why I bestowed you with a kiss… and then abruptly left.”

You tilt your head to the side, grinning softly up at him with hopeful eyes. “You mean that ‘good luck’ kiss?”

He gulps but nods his head. “Y-yes. I am not into cliches but just last night I came across a holomovie where a kiss like this was given. Plus, I can not deny that I have been wanting to-.” He stops himself, suddenly becoming very nervous but you manage to coax him out of his nerves by cupping his cheek, thumb tracing over his finely stubbled jaw.

“Wanted to kiss me?” You push on, eyes gleaming with a longing that could be finalized right this very moment.

“Yes, cyare. To kiss you.” He breathes softly, a goofy grin displaying on his features.

“Well,” you step closer to him, voice hushed and he almost melts at the feeling of your warm breath against his face, “don’t let me stop you from doing it again.”

Without a second to even think, he captures your lips against his own and envelopes his arms around your frame. You sigh into his embrace, letting your lips move along his in a gentle dance that is sure to sweep you off your feet. It’s short and sweet but he whispered a promise against your lips that more on the ship will definitely be on the cards.

He won the race and more importantly, he won you. Could his day get any better?

Pete & Nat, the role models

I've been wanting to meta a lil bit about Pete for sooooo long, I have soooo many good things to say about this guy.

And soooo many complaints for Storer, as well, because instead of introducing new and annoying characters like Computer and giving more airtime to Fak's brother, I don't even remember his name... Pete's character should have been better exploited last season. Especially considering that he became a new dad of THE NEW BEGINNING.

That baby reset the timer of the whole story, which we saw on screen a couple of eps later.

This is how Pete was introduced to us:

That magazine was right next to Pete's computer the first time we saw him in S1's Hands (01x02) when Carmy apologized over the phone, for having sent him to UC.

Pete is enough. No low self-esteem issues, no drama, no trauma. He's centered, stable, and most importantly: He's Nat's rock.

He's a casual guy (tennis shoes on the cover symbology), a "report maker" (name of the magazine) even though he's a lawyer. "Report makers" are reliable and organized, even borderline boring sometimes, they are certainly not daredevils, they are anal and collected. That's their profile, Pete's fits it perfectly.

Not all lawyers are "reliable". He is, because he's the report-maker type. IMO Symbolically speaking that magazine stealing the focal point of the frame for a second is probably telling us that about the character.

So, he is "enough." Yet Sugar married him and started a family with him with this flawed mindset that is nothing but her trauma response:

So, my point is that you don't have to be squeaky clean and your mental health does not have to be pristine for a loving relationship you enter into to work out, not necessarily. This does not mean that Carmy doesn't have to do his part of the work to get better for Syd, which he does and is doing:

OR that Syd doesn't have to clean her side of the street too, which she does:

It means that no, you don't necessarily have to be A-OK to allow yourself to love someone and be loved by that person as long as you choose each other and help each other to do the work, that work will be individual and it will be joint and you will always need help and there is no "right time" to start but ironically enough there is such a thing as too late.

Pete & Nat prove that they are doing it together, it's certainly not easy for them, especially for Natalie, but they are succeeding at it.

IT CAN BE DONE. it's not a utopia or even a bad idea. It can work out, sometimes it doesn't sure, but it can.

This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans Ep 6 Thoughts

I'm caught between "I hate everything going down at the restaurant" and "I love everything going on between Methas and JJ"

I'm sorry y'all but I cannot stand Kluer, he's too fucking much for me. Man puts on a sweet and innocent face, meanwhile he's scheming for Plawan to get his heart broken, and he CAN'T EVEN OWN UP TO IT. I've got a personal bias against him tho coz he stares at Plawan way too much and it makes my autistic ass uncomfortable dfgkdfg he reminds me of someone irl who does this to me, and I hate it, so sorry Kluer but it's personal.

Oab did try to tell Khaosuay about him and Plawan, but she refused to hear it, and he tried to be straight with her about rejecting her, and she didn't want to hear it either. Out of all four ppl in this messy love square, he's the only one who's really trying to do right by the people around him (which is not saying much coz the bar is on the GROUND with everyone here looking out for their own interests), but you can't try to make everyone happy in this situation. Also unfortunately for you, Oab, one of these people walked out on you and the other has been lying to you for months

really feels like Khaosuay is just panicked about her dad and projecting all that onto Oab by trying to dig her claws into him and keep the life she had before. Which is really unpleasant, but like, I get where she's coming from. But stop that, girl, please.

I'm also really curious what Kluer told her on the phone, if it was just about her dad or if he was like "your dad is dying and this guy is trying to steal Oab even though he still loves you" like how far does Kluer's manipulation go

Also Kluer trying to kiss a completely wasted and possibly unconscious Plawan is a No Thanks from me LMFAO

Honestly I think their date was a good example of why Plawan gravitates towards harsh, no-nonsense people like JJ and Oab because a "I'm going to only tell you the things you want to hear" person like Kluer is just gonna let him get trashed in public

like JJ was absolutely in the right to tell Plawan to take this chance and move on from Oab because if he is hurting over Oab paying a little attention to Khaosuay right now, he is going to be DEVASTATED when the consequences of his own actions catch up to him.

Anyways okay METHASJJ GOD THE DESPERATION IN METHAS' VOICE WHEN JJ WAS QUITTING... WHEN HE KEPT CALLING HIS NAME... THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WHEN JJ ASKED IF HE HAD ANYTHING OTHER THAN MONEY TO MAKE PEOPLE LIKE HIM.... THIS IS THE KIND OF ANGST I EAT UP FUCK YES BE MISERABLE YOU POOR LITTLE MEOWMEOW

The whole scene at JJ's house had me dying oh my god. From JJ skipping outside to the trash to the way he suddenly had a date with Methas without even KNOWING what happened, like Methas was all, "Okay go get dressed, what are you waiting for?" and JJ was like "??????????"

Methas' lack of social skills is so funny to me... and his petty little jealousy over Plawan's relationship with JJ, like yeah I BET you wish you had friends too.

that preview too GOD I AM READY kfdgdfg i posted the stills for ep 5 on the benzgarfield sideblog last week, but i accidentally put ep 6 in the description at first, and then i corrected it to ep 5, and THEN half the stills didn't show up in the episode at all, so i was like ep 5 AND 6???? and now i find out it's ep 7 thank you TLDHLB staff for this clear and straightforward release of preview stills it has made it very easy for me to label things in an accurate and satisfying manner dgfdsfgsdfg

Thoughts on fixing the last two eps of AAA to make it more sensible/flow better with the stuff they already had in the script.

Spoilers, obviously.

Ep 8, change starts when Billy finishes finding a body to put Tommy in and disappears, leaving a crack in the floor and Agatha saying "boys die". Instead of staying in the trial, it follows him to returning home, his parents worrying about him, him cleaning up, and making the realization that it was all him. Have him rush off to return to Westview, which his parents are more inclined to allow despite his disappearance because he isn't all cut up and bloody. Episode ends, no voice from behind him.

A straight 30min ep.

Ep 9

Back with Agatha in the last trial, she opens her locket and pulls out Nicholas's hair and then go to flashback to her pregnant and in the woods. Do the whole flashback through to her using the Ballad they made up to steal power from witches and her realization that Billy made the Road. Opens her eyes back in the trial, sees the dandelion seed which wasn't there before (it wasn't if you go back and rewatch the scene), tear she shed over flashback for water, plants it, it grows, she busts out. Implies that flashback is reminder that she is a survivor, or that the flashback was her unconsciously summoning the seed (dandelions are hard to kill survivors too).

Her whole fight thing with Rio, Billy shows up, gives her power, she hands him over to Rio, blah blah. Now we know what is between them before the fight and the "you love me, why don't you want me" lines hit properly because we just watched what caused their split and it shows that Rio doesn't understand the rift between them, which has been hinted at in prior eps.

They kiss, she falls, becomes mushrooms and flower food, Rio says Billy can go. Billy goes down to basement, sky above clears as Rio leaves. Agatha's ghost appears, do the "I killed them!", "well, technically" discussion there. Agatha drops the whole "you wanna be a witch get used to this feeling (of guilt from killing)" and that is what prompts Billy to start trying to banish her, the "I can't face him" line makes more sense plot wise because she just did the whole flashback. Also it points up that Billy is trying to banish her because he doesn't want to face the deaths either and we and they didn't waste time on getting to and from Eastview and it's all more immediate for the characters and clear to us. Billy accepts her ghost and what he caused, closes the door to the Road with the in memoriam.

The whole "let's go find Tommy" bit and then have him walk out amongst the townspeople (who can't see Agatha's ghost at his side) in his costume they probably vaguely recognize, but have him own it instead of ashamed of it, they get in his car and drive off. Show Agatha's ghost in the passenger seat, mirroring how they started the whole thing when they went looking for others to be in the coven and bringing it full circle.

End with Jen clawing out of the ground and using her power to fly off. Or use it as an end credit since we didn't get one. A full 1hr ep.

With the reorganization of the scenes like this, you don't get lines and acting in one episode that you then need to get ten minutes into the next episode to get the emotional impact of. And, the whole flashback to Nicholas thing makes a lot more sense rather than just being dumped on us abruptly. Also, we don't waste time between action and emotion beats being in Eastview and returning to Westview.

Been going fUCKIBG INSANE in the dm's with @grimfeywizard over the implications of Satan(and all the Sins??) being in Hell before Lucifer and thus the lowly hellborn/imps are actually indigenous to Hell and Lucifer was the one who forced the whole Sinner's are above Hellborn and the circus theme, but that's technically all AU because despite Satan saying that he was there before Luci....in the ep....as a lore drop......Viv corrected on twitter to tell everyone that he was lying about it because she's a good show runner and is good at writing it turns out.

Satan is sexy as fuck. Big dragon daddy voiced by the hottest bass to hit the hellaverse, Patrick Page. It enrages me to no end that Viv gets this INSANE talent, and just wastes it. Hades is playing Satan and its ufigkgnofjofgjtgitb💦

Stolitz is boring. Blitz gets falsely accused of rape, and correctly accused of stealing the grimoire but instead of Stolas coming clean and saying "I wanted to fuck him also I hate y'all" he just calls Blitz dumb and like, takes the fall in a way that doesn't actually accomplish anything. "I'd rather die then live without you" Stolas you know nothing about that man. You know his dick girth size not anything about him as a person, what are you on about.

Also consent king Ozzie, does absolutely fuck all when someone is falsy accused of a rape that he knows didn't happen and can testify against. "Satan is sooo powerful, the other Sins can't even stand against him!!" Yes they can. They can?? They obviously can. Also why are they there if Satan is the Law and does what he wants.

Also making "even Bee thinks Mam is disgusting for eating a lot" feels fatphobic and weird. Just like....unnecessarily mean spirited? Bel is cute slepy shepy, but Leviathan could be better I think.

And with Stella, she was just robbed, Georgina Leahy was robbed. Once again, more implications that Stella was legitimately being neglected and actually doesn't know how to read or function in her society outside of popping out babies. More evil woman evil with no actual interesting backstory or motivation. I saw some leaks/previews or storyboards, or something about the next ep awhile back and it definitely feels like we're setting up for Octavia to be like "I HATE U DAD!! U ALWAYS PUT SEXUAL PARTNERS FIRST AND NEGLECTED ME!!" And then gasp, reveal!! It was Stella who was the bitch!!!! Stella TRICKED Via into thinking Stolas did those things!! Good thing Stolas doesn't have to make amends with his daughter for the child abuse, because it was alllll her fault. I expect this only to get worse. Really sucks because 2 minutes notice was SUCH a high note for me and then....all this happens so like, fuck me for getting excited I guess. Imma go rewatch centaurworld, Helicopter Mother will save me.

Anyway, bonus funfact: I completely forgot to watch Ghostfuckers because I hated Apology Tour so bad and just didn't take the time. I only watched this ep for Hades lmao

I can, but it's A LOT. Like the novel is broken up into two parts with 950+ pages total. I'll try to condense it, but if you think the show is a roller coaster, I promise the book is an entire theme park.

What to look forward to past Ep 4:

Aoey dates Great (Gen's brother) to get back at Gen and make Gen jealous, but then spends the whole relationship flirting/seducing Gen

At one point, Aoey's phone breaks so Gen secretly takes the phone to get it fixed bc Aoey can't afford to fix it herself, Gen discovers sexually explicit pictures and videos on the phone

Gen confronts Aoey with what she finds on the phone, but Aoey reveals that her stepfather's the reason she hates being touched and has panic attacks

Aoey's stepfather sexually assaulted her throughout her childhood and teenage years, now he's using the pics/vids of himself assaulting Aoey to blackmail her into letting him continue assaulting her now that she's an adult

Aoey fled to Bangkok not only to get away from her stepfather but Aoey's mom discovered what was going on, accused Aoey of trying to steal her man, then kicked Aoey out leaving her homeless and penniless

Directly after Aoey bares this severe trauma to Gen, Gen is like, "I know exactly what to do" and they end up fucking for the first time (toxic yuri wouldn't be toxic yuri without toxic yuri)

Gen murders the stepfather for what he did to Aoey via an elaborate plan involving her father and uncle (I'm not exaggerating, he dies a horrible violent death thanks to Gen 🙌🏻)

Gen and Aoey have sex A LOT from this point onward in the novel

Gen's father's investigated for both the murder and apparently money laundering??? so her family's gotta flee the country

Gen doesn't wanna flee the country bc she finally admitted her feelings for Aoey, so her and Aoey run off to some middle of nowhere town in Thailand to live together in a shack

But Gen's never worked a day in her life so Aoey works as a day laborer to support them both since Gen's bank account is frozen (due to the money laundering)

Gen feels like she's holding Aoey back so she decides to lie about her feelings for Aoey just to get Aoey back to living her dream of becoming a famous novelist

Gen pulls a Pleng from Affair and writes Aoey a letter in the middle of the night saying she's not gay, she's never been gay, and that she would rather be single and rich than poor and with Aoey, before fleeing the country in the middle of the night

Before leaving, Gen fucks Aoey all night and leaves her handcuffed to the bed while Aoey sleeps, then arranges for Aoey's mom to come to their shack and take Aoey back to Bangkok once Aoey wakes up and reads Gen's letter, despite Aoey telling Gen multiple times that she wants nothing to do with her mom

This is where the time jump happens, but it's only 3 years into the future which doesn't sound like enough time for what's about to go down

Anyway, Aoey becomes a famous novelist, she writes a story based on her and Gen's relationship that gets super popular

She's also engaged to her psychiatrist's brother and scheduled to marry him in like two weeks (conflict of interest whom?)

Gen's living in another country under a fake name where she's a middle-class comic book creator and book cover artist

Gen makes a comic based on her relationship with Aoey from her POV using her fake name, it gets so popular that Aoey gets wind of it and thinks someone's tryna plagiarize her novel

Aoey sends Tod to sus out the author and make them take down their story

But Tod's gay ass thrives on the lesbian drama, he already knows that Gen's the one who wrote the book, so he goes to Gen and convinces her to go back to Bangkok and speak to Aoey and attend Aoey's wedding

Gen goes to Bangkok and has a tension-filled meeting with Aoey and Aoey's fiance, Gen reveals she's the author of the comic AND that she was the one to draw Aoey's book cover, aka the book based on their relationship 👀

Aoey is PISSED with a capital P, but that doesn't stop her from having graphic hate sex with Gen in her hotel room

It's funny bc Gen fucks Aoey silly willy style directly after Aoey's fiance flirts with Gen, says that he doesn't even like Aoey and is only with her out of pity, and tells Gen to "take care of his girl"

Gen heard all that and was like "okay bet" lmao

Aoey's mom is back in the picture and attending the wedding, she knows everything Gen did to help Aoey in the past so she makes a point to thank Gen for her help

Aoey overhears her mom thanking Gen which completely changes Aoey's feelings

Aoey reveals she still loves Gen, Gen reveals she still loves Aoey, Aoey breaks up with her fiance, calls off her wedding, and gets back with Gen

Gen and Aoey end up getting married to each other and living happily ever after
