Luke and Leia would not be the same people if they had grown up with their bio parents. If they had grown up with their bio parents, they would've grown up in the suburbs. Luke is like that because he grew up as a gay kid in the middle of nowhere tuning up 20-year-old cars he could then drive around without a proper licence while five different gangs roamed around. Leia is like that because she was raised by people in their forties who were on the radical left. They are not the same.

Anyways, it's confirmed now! Angel was deffo a cannibal: like father like son🫡. Idk if I'll explore any further on this topic - as I don't think it'd be something angel would prefer to delve any further about (which will be shown), however just know that he did eat humans unknowingly before knowingly🤫! The first time he eats a human is the exact moment Alastor decided he'd keep the boy to himself once and for all: a declaration🙂!

Ice was the one to teach Bradley to drive.

They found a quiet parking lot, and he slowly but clearly walked bradley through the functions. (he learnt in a manuel). Ice was a very calm teacher, he knew Bradley needed to be able to figure it out himself, so the older man just sat quietly, giving some guidance when he needed it.

Bradley managed to learn pretty fast because of this and within no time he was driving on the road confidently. Ice trusted bradley to keep them safe, and only really intervened when it was really necessary or Bradley asked for help.

But when Mav tried to drive with him, a few months into having his learners permit, it didn’t go so well. He had trouble letting go and seemed to feel the need to tell Bradley what to do every two seconds and it really irked the teen.

Bradley would be taking a turn, and Mav would point out every detail of what he needed to do, when to indicate, when to slow down (more often than not it was way before he even needed to think of hitting the breaks). There was a lot of grabbing the door, flinching, and mumbled prayers, and because of this Bradley would tend to get into a reckless headspace, and it would just spiral from there. He would get snarky and talk back whenever Maverick would tell him what to do, and both of them would end up in pretty pissy moods by the end of the drive.

After the first few times, Mav gave up driving with Bradley, and left that to Ice. It was decided that they had plenty of other hobbies to could bond over. It was only after Bradley had his p’s for a while that they started driving together again, and Mav still had to forcefully calm himself down.

i really don't know how to feel about fics/aus where it turns out that sj's treatment of lbh is his own fault because he didn't speak up about issues with other disciples, genuinely misbehaved etc and also later (as bingge) lied about how much he actually got punished and in truth it wasn't any more than any other disciple, and that sj didn't know about the fake manual, when all of this is explicitly against canon.

yqy adresses this when sy wakes up, telling sqq to stop being so mean to lbh. in the sj extra, he himself says that lbh should have died a long time ago bleeding from the seven apertures due to the fake manual. sy says that pidw explicitly states that lbh was punished WAAAY more than any other disciple, and in those conditions obviously noone would tell their teacher about being bullied??

idk i understand altering canon for the sake of telling a story but... somehow it feels like a disservice to sj's character to ignore canon and water him down for the sake of making his redemption easier. and villifying lbh, which is what these fics inevitably end up doing, is also messed up - he was around 11 when he joined cqm. that's a CHILD. no matter how you look at it, sqq's "treatment" of lbh is neglect at best, horrible abuse at worst, and in modern times it would put him in jail faster than you could blink. giving him a realistic redemption arc is difficult, if not impossible, but if you truly love him with all his flaws and faults, isn't it worth the effort?

im so glad that we never get a clear picture of sophie’s background in leverage & i hope we never do. however i also really like making up various, often conflicting backstories for her in my head. perhaps they’re all backstories for an alias of hers, ones she laid to rest back in season two.

A quick collection of parenting culture-clashes that happened in Zaun Family between Jayvik and (mostly) Silco based on things that have happened in my family:

All of Silco's kids spent basically until they could walk being carried about by someone nearly constantly unless sleeping so when Viktor and Jayce intentionally put Naph on the ground (on a blanket) he is very confused and the sentence "What the fuck is floor time" is uttered when they try to explain that it's good developmentally for a baby

Silco has done the thing where while Naph is teething he's just dunked his finger in his whisky on the rocks and then run it along Naph's gums (a very common way to help with teething before modern numbing gels were created). Jayce does almost squeak out "did you just give my son alcohol?" at it

Naph when newborn sleeps in a cot with only a thin blanket where he is safe (from SIDS). All of Silco's kids when newborn slept in his and Vander's bed to keep them safe (from people breaking in).

Jayce and Viktor have one of those modern baby harnesses. Silco thinks it's dumb because as far as he's concerned all you need is long piece of fabric. Flip side of this is that Jayce and Viktor probably go for the baby swaddling onesie things while Silco can swaddle in that same piece of fabric.

Jayce and Viktor purchase/invent many things in the lead up to Naph's birth that Silco thinks are a waste of money/time. He ends up being right for about half of them.

This peculiar guy has vexed me

I think it would be funny if Bill and Steve knew each other before Euclydia was destroyed and Bill just had an insane hatred for him for not really any good reason. I've been thinking it would be interesting if Bill took his "strange eye" as a sign that he's different and special, it was his eye that allowed him to see the 3rd dimension after all, and the fact that Steve has the same abnormality attacks that belief which infuriates him. In all honesty, Bill probably used the "he's not like all the other shapes" mentality to cope to some degree.
