SFKJGAFKGH i’ve had such… tumultuous feelings about izuku since picking up the series 😭 he’s such a crybaby, he’s so beyond cringe-fail it causes actual, physical harm to me, and he’s such a LOSER that it makes me want to SCREAM!!!!! on the other hand…… he’s a crashout and a loser… so….. nothing better than dick from a loser boy who’s got something to prove idkidkidkidk it’s like… i want him… but i don’t… but i feel like i have to have him at least once just to shut him the fuck UP oh my god. like he’s cute, he’s weird, he’s annoyingly persistent, he’s strong, he’s…. i have to squeeze him until his head pops off. i do. i’ve gotta be so strange about him bc there is nothing normal to say 

anyway back to what you asked me, he is so difficult to get rid of as is, so i agree. his will is so strong it’s hard to escape just the thought of him, let alone physically escape him once he’s set his mind to something… he’s… yeah he’s something… honestly, even without any yan tendencies it’s hard to get rid of him 😭

izuku does and doesn’t seem like the home-wrecking type? he seems insatiably jealous at any given moment of the day, whether you’re dating him or not. the only reason this stays relatively hidden is because he’s always teeming with anxiety anyway, so it’s easier to blame his shaking leg and jitters on that, rather than saying he’s been plotting ways to get rid of the person that’s too close to you. however, he also seems like he wants you to come to realization that whoever you’re seeing isn’t good enough for you on your own—he doesn’t mind helping with that, making a slick comment about your date here and there but i would say he’s not a cheater. he won’t ever kiss you or anything while you’re dating someone else, but if he’s gonna be your point of solace whenever your bitch boyfriend does something wrong, then he’s gonna make his opinion known; and if this person really does just suck, he’s probably gonna kick him six ways to sunday, too. there’s something about him that screams he wants to save you, so cheating isn’t the way to do it… and he always wants you to pick him, to come to him.... he’s not a homewrecker but he’s not completely innocent either idk i’m always torn when it comes to him maybe that’s just proof i need to spend more time analyzing him before i open my mouth to speak 

katsuki just doesn’t really… care… LOLL. he’s very… righteous? so if you’re dating somebody else, he won’t really stand in the way of it bc he absolutely will not be to blame for your relationship crashing and burning (he thinks that’s gonna happen all on its own anyway), nor would he want that to be the way to start your relationship with him… but he still doesn’t… care about your boyfriend LOL like he really doesn’t give a fuck, not even in a mean way, just in a… he doesn’t have the time to capacity to get to know or care about this dude. he’s also not going to give way for this guy to take over any space katsuki has already carved out in your life. it’s still going to be katsuki driving you to your doctor’s appointments, and listening to you bitch about the price of concert tickets, and sitting in your hospital room when you get tossed sideways by a villain. if your boyfriend doesn’t like that, then that sucks for him, but katsuki sure as hell isn’t going to pull back just because there’s some new guy in your life. he knows his place in your life is solid, he can’t say the same for anybody else, so there’s really no reason to worry. he and that man are not in competition and katsuki is way too cocky to ever think that they could be 

idk about shoto…………………… his jealousy can get pretty ugly solely because he doesn’t quite know how to deal with it, but on the other hand, idk if i see him acting up about it either. if you, or any of his friends, asked him point blank if he likes your boyfriend, he’d honestly, just blink, and say “no. not really,” and carry on with whatever he’s doing, but he’s not gonna haze the guy either… if your boyfriend is bad to you, that’s another story...

holy crow man. i binged the second season of LC in one night (bad decision dont do that i now need to go back and watch it again cause its all sludgy in my brain) and that twist ending hit me like a truck.

after watching the first season as it came out and being super hyped for the second, only to fall off watching it cause i did not care too much for the structure + it was at a really busy time in my life... well i wasnt sure what to expect, but it sucked me in.

i still definitely have some beef with the writing and structure (the recontextualization of previous scenes is only cool the first 5 times, and only when it doesnt feel like you cut away super deceptively, and its also cooler when you dont use upwards of 20 seconds of the exact same footage we already saw)

BUT THEY ALSO GAVE ME EVERYTHING I WANTED!!!!!!! QIAO LING & CHENG XIAOSHI SIBLINGS REAL!!!!!!! TIME LOOP THEORY REAL!!!!!! more sick fight scenes??? the main trio acting like they actually like each other more than once per episode (not that the stuff in season 1 isn't good, we're just getting the pay off here), through a game of memory telephone Qiao Ling has now seen images of her brother (!!) dying, so thats exciting and i hope the next sequential episodes (cause my understanding is that the bridon arc is a prequel) show her grappling with the horror of that and also i would love to have her and Lu Guang talk abt it and then not tell Cheng Xiaoshi bc they need to be closer friends.

anyway i think without the twist ending and the QL & CXS stuff we got i probably would have gone "well, that was a let down compared to season 1 but oh well, hopefully the bridon arc is good" and promptly moved on with my life, but these clowns actually have a stranglehold on me right now.

Thinking about an AU where Ritsu is the one who ends up being Reigen's student instead. Say he's there when Mob sees the sign, dissuades him from going in because "it's probably a scam anyway!" But then of course, little envious Ritsu ends up coming back the next day, unable to help himself at the chance, the possibility that someone could help him develop psychic powers like his brother. He figures Reigen out almost immediately, of course, because he demands to be shown Reigen's power. But Ritsu is desperate, and Reigen has always had a kind way with words, and soon enough Ritsu and Reigen are going ghosts adventures! Leaving Mob behind :') Even more alone than before :'))

And as S&S fills up with things of ACTUAL spiritual significance, like artifacts and purified salt and herbs at Ritsu's obsessive insistence as he tries to find an in to psychic powers and Reigen tries to encourage him without encouraging him, Ritsu and Reigen get closer. Ritsu is more surly than Mob, less inherently trusting and more emotional, more easily annoyed—but he has no reason to hate Reigen in this verse. Reigen has never even met Mob, much less used his powers for his own gain. Reigen grows incredibly fond of this desperate boy, good at everything but the one thing he wants to be good at, and tries to lead him away from those feelings of jealousy and inadequacy. In turn, Ritsu himself is healthier. A little easier going, though still almost perpetually bristling with temper 😮‍💨

He and Mob are closer as a result! He becomes Mob's only friend, more open with his own thoughts and feelings and, thanks to Reigen, far less afraid of him. Mob is more emotionally stunted than ever, and though he has some tentative acquaintances in the Telepathy club, he's still mostly alone and isolated. All of Reigen's helpful advice on dealing with his autism (identified by how Ritsu speaks about his Shige-nii and the behaviors he says he exhibits) is relayed through Ritsu, who comes to understand Mob a little more because of it.

But—oh, didn't I mention? This is a soulmate AU :)

Ritsu has two marks; one for Mob, and one for Reigen. Mob never develops a mark for Ritsu, but he expects that, obviously. Reigen also doesn't develop a mark for Ritsu, but given their age difference, Ritsu also expects that. He's a smart boy, and he knows that not all soulmarks are reciprocated. It's fine. They don't need to be. Ritsu has mostly made peace with his lot in life.

That is, before Mob and Reigen finally meet in person. And instantly develop matching soulmarks.

...Ritsu's psychic awakening is only slightly better than his brother's.

King's Quest Fan Remakes

After talking about them a bit recently, I felt compelled to play through the old KQ fan remakes (1-3 from AGDI and 3 from IA), and I wanted to share my more in depth thoughts for anyone interested in these love letters to the original games.

King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown Remake from AGD Interactive

A lovely update to the original! While clearly the least polished of AGDI's offerings, it's nice to be able to play KQ1 with KQ5-style graphics and voice acting (the original voice of Graham, Josh Mandel, voices him in all four of the games in this post, ftr). There is an option to turn off any chance of softlocking yourself before you even start the game, which is a welcome feature. Puzzle-wise, this one stays the most faithful to the original out of the three from AGDI with a few updates here and there (like that stupid name puzzle! lol). The vocal performances and sound effects can be a bit fuzzy, but I found them enjoyable nonetheless.

Overall a solid fan remake with limited extra bells and whistles!

King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones from AGDI

Easily the most ambitious of the three from AGDI. Pretty much all of the core elements from KQ1 are further polished here - artwork, acting, music, and sound effects. The story and puzzles, however, have been changed enough that the end product is sizably different from the original. In some cases, this is fun and interesting (more lore and character interactions! new and unique puzzles!), but not everyone will enjoy all the changes. I, for example, find the underwater section kind of fun, but the new content around the count... not so much (for reasons I'll avoid due to spoilers, but know they're more mechanical than anything). There's less freedom in when you can do things, the added story making the game far more linear than it originally was. But then I'm sure many would agree that if any KQ game could do with extra content, it'd be 2, so I can't fault them swinging for the fences, even if not every hit was a home run.

All in all, this version of KQ2 doesn't really work if you're simply looking to experience the original game with updated graphics, but it's a fun playthrough nonetheless, and newcomers might enjoy the added lore/story bits. Just be aware that I could probably sum up the original game's story in about two sentences while this one would take far longer. XD

King's Quest III: To Heir is Human Redux from AGDI

If KQ1 wasn't fully polished and KQ2 was a little overworked, then KQ3 is juuuuuust right! (For anyone who knows the game, yes, this is a purposeful pun. XD) The graphics, sounds, music, vocal performances - all are the best yet (though still with some minor hiccups as any fan game is wont to have - the music was sadly cutting out during the climactic sequence for me). It even has a neat little feature where the timer changes color depending on how close you are to being zapped into oblivion that is not only useful but adds a sense of urgency in it's own way (especially if you forgot the item that makes travel a lot easier for like 2 meals I mean what lol). While it does carry over some of the story threads from AGDI's second entry, this game still works well enough on it's own, with the majority of the new content being added in naturally rather than supplanting whole sections of the original. In fact, personally speaking, I think the added content only enhances the game, your encounters with Medusa and the yeti especially getting a nice boost. And the extra lore only helps you feel for the protagonists plight all the more. The ending is a bit drawn out, perhaps, and I may not agree with the order you're supposed to choose the four items in to get the treasure (insert rant here XD), but those are minor nitpicks at best.

This is easily the best of the three, AGDI having perfected their KQ formula at this point. It works as a remake of the original while still adding in a bit of new content that doesn't feel unwelcome. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in giving the King's Quest series a try.

King's Quest III: To Heir is Human Remake from Infamous Adventures

Look. I know that it's not as impressive as AGDI's version. The time limit is laughably long, the spells are impossible to mess up, and some of the clickable areas can be a bit wonky. But I really like this version, ok?? I like the design and voice of Gwydion, I like the storybook quality that the cutscene art has, I like that it feels lonely when it should. And as much as some of the changes in AGDI's version were really nice, I like that it's basically just the original game without extra stuff added in.

This is like AGDI's KQ1 - a really solid remake of a game that gives you the feel of the original but with an updated interface and graphics. It's not as impressive as the one above, but it doesn't have to be. The original KQ3 is an awesome game, so an update of just that can't be bad. It can easily be played as a standalone game, and I will continue recommending this version 'til I die, lol.

does anyone else get that sinking feeling when a friend gets really into something you absolutely adore/have been hyperfixating on, but when you mentioned it, they ignored it (and kinda just ignore you unless and will talk over you to talk to their actual friends to the point where you're not even sure if y'all are friends or just acquaintances) and now they're really liking it and you just. want to gatekeep it bc that interest was (and is!) important to you...
