I don't really believe in separating the art from the artist, but I remember how much it hurt when I found out Rowling was an absolutely shit person and so I do worry about the Gaiman fans out there who are in pain because of the article that was dropped today. I hope this helps.

My own take on all of this Neil Gaiman shit because apparently everyone is having an opinion. For context, I’m a woman.
1. I mourn for the victims first and foremost. Everything they must have gone through and dealt with before, during, and after SA. I’m sure there was a number of people who didn’t believe them, but I am happy that their stories are finally getting told.
2. I looked into going to the college Neil Gaiman teaches/taught(?) at because he taught there. Of course it wasn’t my only draw, but it was a pretty big one. I watched and read good omens, and for a long time it was my favorite book. I also read a lot of his other popular books, some bought and some borrowed. I loved all the mythology and sometimes it didn’t click with me but a lot did. That is to say, I was in it. Even more so than I was in Harry Potter because at least with Harry Potter it was one contained story. For me it was all these books that were only connected by who wrote them.
3. After reading the article today, I thought to myself “is there anyway that I will ever people to trust someone in a position of power ever again?” I saw @pseudowho say today:
“To work out whether or not a man actually respects womens' fundamental human rights, all you have to do is give him power and opportunity, and wait.”
And that really stuck to me.
4. It is okay to be sad that you can no longer read his work without feeling terrible, or you can no longer enjoy it at all because of that terrible feeling. It’s also okay to be mad at people who are still going to have the books on their shelves. Everyone is going to “process” in different ways.
5. Today, I packed up all my Neil Gaiman books except Good Omens and put them in my closet. I crossed out his name on the spine of Good Omens. That is not to say that he didn’t write it, but it was my own way of saying “you don’t own this anymore. You may have had the idea, but we made it into what it is.” Because very truthfully, my favorite part of good omens is its community which he had nothing to do with.
6. Fuck you Neil Gaiman. I hope you are watching the formidable kingdom you thought you had built crumble into the ground as I write this.
A book recommendation, to close: When the Angels Left the Old Country by Sacha Lamb. It is pretty obviously influenced by Good Omens, but I liked this book more than GO.

Instead of throwing away your Neil Gaiman-related books, box sets, statues, comics, etc. how would fandom feel about banding together to auction them off for charity with all the profits going to RAINN?
I do not have the spoons to run a charity auction because dealing with fulfillment and listening fees is currently beyond my reach.
But what I do have is a lot of very rare very cool stuff that--rather than putting it in a box or throwing it in the bin--could find a new home instead, and do some good for a good cause.
So fans of Good Omens, Dead Boy Detectives, Stardust, Coraline, Sandman, American Gods, and other assorted related fandoms, whatcha think?
ETA: when I say I have a lot of stuff I mean I have a lot of stuff. everything in that box came off a single shelf, and I haven't even gotten to the other shelves yet. there's art by Dave McKean, Jill Thompson, Mark Buckingham, Charles Vess, and so many more. Lots and lots.

Here's a tip kids:
Neil stepping back or making concessions to try to keep any of his shows afloat isn't him being a good person or taking responsibility. It's him taking a knee to prevent everything he's invested time and money into, everything he's been expecting a MASSIVE return on, from going belly up.
Neil will never be a good person. He is an abuser and a manipulator. He's sixty years old and has been demonstrating this pattern of behavior his whole professional life, alongside an obvious awareness that it's wrong or at least socially unacceptable.
Do not give him the benefit of the doubt, do not give him credit where it's due. Because he deserves neither of those things. He deserves to die in infamy while his works slowly fall out of circulation and are forgotten.
Your shows may die, and that's unfortunate, but you will find other shows and other communities if you look for them. I promise you're spoiled for choice.

Instagram knows to advertise Masterclass to me whenever I'm mindlessly swiping through the stories. So multiple times a day I'm minding my business and Neil Gaiman shows up in the advert being like "Let me give you some advice." It's delightful, because I'd actually really want Mr Gaiman to give me advice, but the masterclass online lecture thing costs money that I should be saving. But multiple times a day for weeks now, he pops up on my feed, everyday wanting to give me advice. Very consistently. Never giving up on his mission to give me advice.

The Neil Gaiman allegations are absolutely horrific and heartbreaking and his recent text addressing the situation is absolutely piss poor.
Let's say he's telling the truth and everything was consensual: That means that he's done his bdsm/sexual activities around his child and led to the kid even referring to the "partner" as slave.
He doesn't even address that in his response despite it being extremely perverted argument against him, that should have been on of the first things he should debunk if the allegations were false. Instead he is trying to argue that he's not a rapist but is still a massive pervert who does shit in front of his child. Jesus Christ what an awful response.
In case it wasn't clear: i don't believe the allegations are lies especially after that response. Its sad as a fan of his work that now one of my favorite stories (Coraline) is now tainted by the truth that Neil Gaiman is a rapist and pervert, and now i don't plan on ever reading his books again despite having many on my to-read list for some time. But this isn't about the fans of his work, but the victims, and to them i wish all the best and that they are able to live their best lives despite the trauma and humiliation this piece of shit inflicted on them.
Just needed to talk about this, peace.

Library tour - Pratchett and Gaiman focused with some honourable mentions
Of course I've constantly had full bookshelves since I was a child, but I'd always wanted a room I could properly call a library. The house my husband and I now live in has 3 bedrooms, so as we're child free we've each taken one of the spare rooms to do with as we wish.
The majority of the furniture you see is thrifted (aside from the bookcases) and it was self decorated with a lot of cut corners-for example I decided instead of proper flooring it would be cheaper just to pull up the carpet and varnish the actual boards.
I spend more time in here than I do in our living room 😁

Gaiman stuff. Sandman alongside some Alan Moore, Preacher, Hellblazer, my signed copy of The Crow and one volume of Sin City. Two copies each of Ocean (one illustrated), and American Gods (original and authors preferred text). And of course one of my copies of Good Omens. Plus you can see the novelisation of Pan's Labyrinth sitting next to Neverwhere. Del Toro is another favourite fantasist of mine.

Pratchett stuff. Complete Discworld of course, and I'm slowly increasing my non Discworld Pratchett collection, my second copy of GO, the Paul Kidby illustrated edition (makes sense to have one living with the Gaiman books and the other with Pratchett). Soul Music and Hogfather are both signed, I met Pterry when I was 14 on the Hogfather signing tour.
The crocheted toy was actually from a pattern for a mimic I made (pattern by Complicated Knots on YouTube), but it's luggage-y enough that I put it with the Discworld books, Rob Wilkins' biography of Pterry, and a Librarian to look after everything, make sure the books don't get rowdy and take care of the L-space. I've had him since I was 18.

Specifically Good Omens stuff: a pair of felt plushies a friend made for me after S1 was released (@diedarlingsuk on Instagram), a pair of drawings I bought from a very talented 15 year old artist at a tiny comic con also after S1, (I'd credit her but I've no idea of her name or if she has an online presence), the script book, the TV companion, and an art book by the wonderful @mistysblueboxstuff, who I'm sure most of the fandom know and love. This contains all her GO art from S1 and S2.

Honourable mention stuff - I put above that I love Del Toro, so I've got to share the Angel of Death from Hellboy 2 as its one of my favourite things in this room. And its an angel, so that's kinda linked.
Made for me by another friend from clay on a doll's body and the wings on wire frames (@sids_workshop on Instagram).
Finally the Complete William Blake illuminated works, a guidebook to a Blake exhibition I went to, and Gustav Dore illustrated copies of Dante, Milton, Coleridge, Tennyson and Poe. I am a huge poetry nerd, and I think many GO fans would find a lot to interest them in some of these, particularly Blake and Milton.

I could go on, there's tons of other stuff I'd like to include but this post is fairly massive already and I wanted to try and stick to my theme.

A really great update from Vera at Council of Geeks. Really excellent points about each of the productions currently attached to NG. I very much agree with all her thoughts around the Good Omens finale, and glad she is able to voice those opinions so well and clearly.
One thing I hadn’t known was Douglas McKinnon was also co-show runner of Anansi Boys and quit around the same time as quitting Good Omens.
That’s incredibly telling. Obviously we still don’t know the reasons, but NG had only specifically addressed McKinnon leaving Good Omens stating it was due to production clashes as a result of the writers strike (at least that’s what I remember seeing him post, after answering an ask that he had received here on Tumblr). I don’t ever recall him saying anything about McKinnon leaving Anansi Boys. I know we could speculate the reasons, and they probably wouldn’t be helpful. But I’m really curious to know if it had anything to do with McKinnon having foreknowledge of the allegations.
I’m also pretty sure that NG had hinted here earlier this year that Anansi Boys would be out really soon, so my assumption is Prime was ready to make a release date announcement, the allegations came out, and they’ve delayed announcing or releasing it until they feel it appropriate to continue. You know, bullshit things that giant corporations like to do, making it seem like they’re taking a stand but really just concerned about their own self interests and bottom line.
Lastly, touching on Sandman S2, I’ve been really torn about whether I’ll watch that one or not. If I did end up watching it, I’ll do it outside the golden binge watching week that Netflix so very much likes to take all their renewal decisions from. Though I will be incredibly pissed off if they decide to renew for a third season, considering their decision to cancel other incredibly great shows after only one season, and with cliffhangers. But at the same time I once again feel sorry for the hundreds of other people who worked hard on it who now lose work because of the actions of one shithead person.
I’ve been really sad and angry this last week, and this is just yet another reminder of how one person who was supposed to be one of us, let us down by being a complete monster. I’m still so angry that he tore away such a safe space for so many people and tainted so many other beloved works because of his actions.

I have known him from dw and am deep into good omens, sandman and dead boy detectives fandom. Everything I know about Norse Mythology is from him and The Graveyard Book resides deep in my heart.
He is not innocent. Even if all that came out is untrue, he is not innocent. Involvement of Boris Johnson's sister is just incredibly suspicious. However, he was in relationships with barely legal women, which goes against everything he "stands" for.
Your first thought should not be about GO S3. The worlds created by him have provided comfort and solace to many people, including myself. So not leaving the fandoms is completely okay. But do remember that there are people with very real feelings and lives involved. Future projects should not be your main concern.
I hope everyone hurt by this is okay.
He was my favourite author. If you want to talk, I am here.

That article about Neil Gaiman… holy mother of god was that one of the most vile evil things I’ve ever read. My heart goes out to his victims and I hope they have strong support. Hell isn’t hot enough for him.
Everyone should read it, especially people who have ever read his books or watched any of his shows, but major trigger warnings for detailed descriptions of rape and his abuse of them. Including incest and grooming because he included his son, a child, in his perversions. It’s insane.
That child shouldn’t be anywhere near him or any child for that matter and please put that kid in therapy immediately.
here are some screenshots, again be aware this is graphic before you read it:

Also Amanda Palmer was clearly complicit in his abuse of those women and has enabled him in it all, including the grooming of their son, she can go to hell too. Sick disgusting people.

As if he wasn’t enough of a goddamn degenerate, he did this shit in front of his little son. He repeatedly violated SP while his son was in the same room, sometimes even in eye and earshot.
HE HAD HIS YOUNG SON REFERRING TO ONE OF HIS VICTIMS AS SLAVE AND DEMANDING SHE CALL HIM MASTER LIKE SHE DOES HIS FATHER. A CHILD, demanding a woman call him MASTER after witnessing his FATHER force her to do it. AND NEIL FOUND THAT AMUSING.
HE MOLESTED THIS SAME VICTIM WHILE THEY WERE SEATED ON THE COUCH WITH HIS C H I L D.
And Scarlett wasn’t even the only woman he had his son be present for. This is a PATTERN.
Absolutely no joke, I personally would have 1000% drowned him like a fucking rabid sewer rat the second he oozed his non-euclidean ass carcass into that bath tub. Then again, I’m 31, quite a bit older than the victim was and no longer prone to freeze/fawn, I DO NOT BLAME HER FOR FREEZING. He is a schlubby, sniveling, sadistic, insecure, impotent little doughboy cuck who lives vicariously through le edgy cool goth self-insert OCs and can only feel like a “real man” by overpowering terrified girls decades younger than him. Pathetic. My heart is shattered for that girl. For all of them.
I’m usually the first to complain that people here use suicide demands way too liberally, but right now I feel so hollowed out and filled with ice water and broken glass after reading Vulture and Rolling Stone that I mean this from the bottom of my soul: Neil Gaiman (YOU TOO AMANDA, YOU WERE HIS PROCURER, HIS VERY OWN GHISLAINE),
