I don't really have a hard-set design for any of the QSMP characters in mind because I'll see all kinds of cool fanart that look totally different and just go "Yeah that's them!" because the designs are all flexible to me.
...This does, however, make it very hard to translate their designs into custom Figmas because I can't decide on a single look.

Better?
In the ongoing saga of figuring out my child's healthcare needs we stopped his daily asthma medication. After an August 3-4 weeks of a terrible asthma flare up which ended up with a does of steroids' we decided to try a maintenance med. I had been very reluctant because the side effects can be hyperactivity/aggression. More hyperactivity is the last thing my child needs. His behavior had been pretty out of control during his August asthma flare up. We notified the school nurse about the med update - who had encouraged me to try out the med. I thought I told the teacher but maybe did not.
Anyone it seemed to be working really well. He was not coughing in October for the first time in years. We hadn't noticed any behavior changes. However, he was not sleeping well. Which is very abnormal for him. This had started during the summer asthma flare up - so assumed it was that. It makes sense you won't sleep well if you are coughing constantly and generally feel shitty.
The school had not reported any behavior changes to us. I ask regularly - while trying not to be too annoying. She noted he has good days and bad days hyperactivity wise. Which is the norm.
Then the neuro psych office sent someone by to do an in class assessment. Apparently his behavior was really terrible. He had a really terrible in office assessment the day before. I'm assuming it was a hold over from that. Also the teacher told us "someone" told him the neuro was there to assess him. The whole point of sending a different nuero was so he would not know they were monitoring him. He does not like being assessed. The teacher also tells the neuro pscyh his behavior has gotten worse and worse over the last month. She thought it was because the class had added two other high energy boys. Which is entirely possible. He def matches other kids energy. Or it could be because of the meds!! If the teacher had discussed with us I would have 100% considered that. I was on the look out for bad behavior. I am so annoyed the teacher did not tell us. The Director of the school apologized. The teacher said she is always "transparent" with the Neuropsychs. As if, we didn't want her to be transparent. We expected her to be transparent with us first! I had seen her the day before the in class assessment. She mentioned how he is really nice to the younger kids. Then said he has good and bad days. She mentioned he had been putting things in his mouth. I said I'd send in chewy necklace. None of this screams "behavior has gotten worse and worse."
Anyway we can't risk more hyperactivity. Talked with his doctor and took him off the same day. He fell asleep immediately that night. He's been back to sleeping really well every night since. Seems calmer to me. His teacher says he has been better over the past week. But the biggest difference is he has almost 100% stopped stuttering. Since August his occasional stutter that only came out when he was tired was happening all of the time. Since Friday I've heard it twice.
Now the question is was the medicine really changing his behavior? Or was the medicine causing sleep interruptions and that was causing the behavior changes? I suspect the stutter is because his brains moves faster than his mouth. The internet tells me its a common ADHD (and autism) thing. The problem is exacerbated when his body is especially out of wack/tired.
Of course, within 24 hours of stopping I can tell the cough was coming. It's not bad, yet. Just a few coughs here and there. It actually has not been cold outside here so will see what comes. Luckily, his asthma is entirely of the cough variant. His oxygen levels are always fine. Sometimes a little wheezing but nothing serious. No asthma "attacks."
There are various other asthma meds we could try but now I'm even more terrified to try anything. The poor kid's body is constantly fighting against him. It also does not bode well for trying ADHD meds. I feel like his body is always going to pick up the worse outcomes. Considering taking FMLA over the summer to try out some meds. If they make him more hyperactive/aggressive with us it's fine. It ill If he does it at school it can get him labeled.
I'm def not going to give him a full steriods dose again unless its a real medical emergency. His behavior was out of control for a week after that.
The two other high energy boys were moved to a different class. Not sure why, obviously not my business. Someone mentioned they are going to add another teacher to his class. I'm going to follow-up to see if that is true. I'm reminding myself that teachers are very busy. My kid is one of 12 kids. Its probably not fun to report bad behavior to parents and some people are better at it than others.
Going to his school tmrw for the Halloween parade. Looking forward to it.

Hey there! First off I want to say I *adore* your art, you absolutely 1000% perfectly tap into the vibe and style of late 90's/early 00's 3D models in a way literally no one else does. I think about your art of your fake games' glitches (especially the forum post!!! it's. *perfect.*) all the time :)
And I've noticed how you're always very insightful and kind whenever you answer asks, so thank you for that!
If it's not too intrusive to ask, I was wondering how you went about finding a doctor to get your autism diagnosis? I've been pretty sure for a few years now that I'm on the spectrum, but I've never had a clue how to actually get tested/diagnosed. Especially since I'm an adult female too, and I've heard a ton about how autism is really overlooked/underdiagnosed for people like us.
But seeing that you were able to find someone who avoided all the common pitfalls and was able to actually help you made me want to reach out. I had been wanting to ask you this for a while (as you can probably tell based on what the question was haha) but I was too anxious to actually do it (still am, a bit ><). Again, feel free to ignore this part if it's too personal or you don't want to answer it for any reason!
It feels awkward to end an ask with that, so I'll bookend it with something I think you'll like: have you ever heard of trsrockin.com? It's an old fansite I used to visit religiously as a kid that talked about early Pokemon and Super Mario games and collectibles from them, as well as oddities like glitches from the aforementioned games, forgotten weird one-off SNES games, documenting fake/trick fanmade "cheats" for games, and bootleg merchandise.
It's one of if not the first public place (afaik) that MissingNo. and pals were discovered/talked about, and a little community came together to try and figure out why the glitch happened and what all the effects and variants of it were. Even you've been to trsrockin before and none of this is new info, I thought it would at least be a nice trip down memory lane :)
It's an old site that has since been taken down, and for some reason archive.org can't properly archive the full site/all its links. But luckily someone created a complete mirror of it! You can find it here: http://catfish.it.cx/trsrockin/trsrockin.com/index.html
AHH THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! ;__; you're too kind... i know i haven't posted too much of my 3d work recently, but trust me, i have a LOT more of those faux-retro aesthetics in store with the game i've been working on... >=) i'm always so so happy to see other people appreciate janky ol' 3d graphics, LMFAO
also!! i've definitely heard of trsrockin eheehee... i was a bit too young to use it when it was in its prime (and also more of a bulbapedia enthusiast), but i've perused some archived pages before! old internet forums & fansites are just the best thing in the world...
ANYWAY: regarding your question! Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm the best person to give advice about this, because I feel like I kind of got my diagnosis by chance... Essentially: I started seeing a new therapist; she suggested I might be on the spectrum, I said, "Yeah maybe IDK"; I got a referral to an evaluator—and then an incredibly expensive diagnosis after a few months of waiting and testing.
My case differs in that I didn't really suspect being on the spectrum myself. Which seems a bit silly, considering I now realize I am... observably autistic. In abundance. But it was genuinely hard to puzzle out, what with all my other problems (particularly, severe misophonia, which can be REALLY hard to differentiate from general sensory sensitivity.) So about specifically seeking out a diagnosis, I unfortunately can't give a good answer. But I'm willing to talk about the rest, on the off-chance it ends up helpful! (Under the cut at least.)
I don't like to be too open about my Issues™ online—but I got a whole lot of them, and they used to be a lot worse than they are now, so I was stuck in that perpetual "adolescent with treatment-resistant depression" purgatory for, like... my entire adolescence! Because no one knew what the hell was wrong with me. I'm barely in adulthood now, but I'm extremely thankful to be broken out of that. Both the 'treatment-resistant depression' diagnoses AND the adolescence. Being told with authority that I, indeed, have an untreated case of mega-autism—and not an irreparably broken brain whose electrical activities zap SSRIs straight out of existence—is definitely relieving. And now I can confidently say shit like 'mega-autism', so like, wins all around.
About getting a diagnosis in general: in my case, I kind of needed one, because it would be not be feasible for me to go to school/work/exist without accommodations of some kind. (The evaluation I had was, in part, just to get a psychological report of any kind, since I desperately needed supporting documentation to request accommodations anywhere.) Otherwise, I'm honestly not sure if I'd bother?
On one hand, an official diagnosis is an incredibly affirming thing to have—especially if you didn't even suspect it before; things start making a lot of sense afterwards, LOL—but on the other hand, it is a tedious and kind of humiliating process. And possibly expensive.
And then, like you mentioned, there's the problem of some doctors being biased or plainly godawful at their job/poorly designed systems ruining everything for everyone. It's probably for incompetency on those ends that a diagnosis managed to elude me for nineteen years straight. (Vividly recalling the time my school had a counselor give me an impromptu autism evaluation, in which she concluded that I "didn't seem to have autism, but would probably get along really well with autistic people." WHATEVER THAT MEANT.) But! It's not impossible to get someone who knows what they're doing! I'd love to say otherwise, but I really did just stumble into a decent doctor... There's a lot of luck involved, and man. I did not get good RNG at first. (← I'M SORRY FOR BEING A GAMER.)
I went into the evaluation doubting I had it, and heavily doubting that I'd be diagnosed, but like... Hold on let me reach across your desk and slide you the answers to the autism test. The trick is to not even try to be normal, I think. Intermittently talk about CRT monitors, and how you like learning ciphers, and Pokemon glitches—or whatever else you're into. But those specifically worked for me! "Don't mask", is what I'm saying. (Really though, I think if you're answering everything to the best of your ability, properly administered tests done by a doctor who doesn't suck should be able to diagnosis you. If they don't, then the problem is something systemic, and far beyond anything I could reasonably give advice about...)
ANYWAY! (x2) I'm honestly not sure if any of this is particularly helpful, but if you decide to pursue it, I wish you luck with getting your diagnosis!! It's definitely a bit of a hellish thing to do—but dammit, if it's worth it to you, then it's definitely worth doing.

Corey and Oats in…
Corey’s Mutation Problem.
--------------------------
Corey was a covid microbe who tried his very best to be nice to others but it was difficult for him because of many benefactors, whenever he was in crowds…his ‘covid sense’ would go berserk and he’d go on a spree where he’d take over other people’s bodies, and he also had a phobia of high places…his fear of heights often caused him to panic. Of course his major problem was his problem with mutations, even though he could control his mutations at will sometimes he sometimes did lose control whenever there was a new variant and he’d mutate.
Corey always described these as being scary for him to undergo and he would have nightmares about this, but luckily Oats was there to comfort him. He was in the bedroom one afternoon, in his house in Nile Road, and he was shivering a little.
“Aaaw..what’s wrong, Corey?”
The covid microbe turned to Oats and groaned…’I have that weird feeling again, a feeling that i’m going to mutate.’ ‘There there, it’s okay.’ ‘I don’t feel so good.’ ‘I’m here for you, Corey.’ ‘A-a-choo!’ Corey sneezed, and as he did he turned a deeper shade of red as his eyes glowed.
“It’s alright Corey, we can get through this.”
He sobbed and as he did, several disconcerting crunching noises were heard as he began to grow larger in height, in addition to this his nails sharpened, resembling claws as his spikes also sharpened a little, he broke down in tears as lesions formed on parts of his body in a manner that was best described as akin to a Cronenbergian body horror movie as he groaned in agony. ‘Help me, Oatsie, help me!’ Corey cried. Oats reached over to hug his friend but he was poked by one of Corey’s spikes. ‘I’m trying but you poked me.’ ‘Sorry.’
The covid microbe didn’t know what to do, he knew that if he worried any further the mutation would get worse, and that’s when he saw a pair of horns grow out of the otp of his head, his brow took on the appearance of being akin to a Buffyverse vampire brow as his teeth sharpened, he cried out for help as his voice deepened to sound a little bit demonic.
He cried as Oats patted him on the back, only to attack him as if he was possessed and to snap out of it. ‘I am sorry that I did this to you, I don’t know what’s gotten into me, my mutations usually aren’t like this.’
Oats patted his friend and gave him a hug, Corey sighed..thinking that if his mutation got any worse he could be a hazard to anyone who tries to comfort him, so he jumped out the window and ran away from home. Which made Oats sad, but Oats knew what to do as he used an item in the bedbox to form a magical passageway which lead to the direction his microbe friend was running off to.
Corey ran through the North Shore city, running around through Milford, running into the Milford Mall and wreaking havoc, luckily Oats was able to catch up to his friend. Corey raced through the Milford mall and then out of it, racing out of the parking lot and over to Glenfield and into that area’s mall, Oats caught up to him just as he saw Corey looking in one of the windows. ‘Corey, are you okay?’ ‘Don’t look at me Oatsie, i’m a monster.’ ‘ ‘No you’re not, you are my friend and I love you a lot.’ ‘You h--heart me?’ ‘Yes, I really really love you.’
“That warms my heart to hear that.”
“It does?”
“Yes…I heart you too, Oatsie.”
Corey’s eyes brightened as he hugged Oats, this time his spikes didn’t prick the dress wearing equine. ‘You are my best friend and I love you, we can get through this.’ ‘Thank you, thank you for helping me.’ He felt a warming sensation in his heart as he slowly turned back into his normal self.
“That was horrifying.”
‘I hate my mutations, but unfortunately they have a tendency to happen and I cannot do anything about them.’ ‘There there, it’s okay..come on, i’ll help you to feel better.’ Oats reached out for Corey’s hand as the duo ran home.
When they arrived home in Nile Road, Oats put on his nurse outfit and took care of him, he gave him some fruit tea and some frooze balls as well as one of his freshly baked cookies, which made Corey very happy. ‘Thank you for helping me back there.’ ‘No problem. I know how hard it must be to have to deal with those and I want you to know, i’m here for you.’ Corey smiled a little bit, as he hugged his friend.
It didn’t take long for him to get better as the duo played hospital and looked over the other microbes and Corey felt better about his mutations, Alcina looked over at him and kissed him, she was glad he turned out okay. They had some afternoon tea, and a couple of hours later they had dinner.
“Feeling better now, Corey?”
“Yes…indeed I am.”
After dinner they played some games, listened to their favorite songs and had fun. When it was time for them to get ready for sleepytime fun, they put on their night-clothes, brushed their teeth and said goodnight to Mariah and Ysa who were the helpers on sleepover duty for the night.
They got into bed, snuggled up and had sweet dreams of playing together, in their dreams Corey and Oats worked at a hospital looking after the other microbes. It just goes to show that friendship really is the greatest form of medicine in the whole world.
Thus with that they had a nice night with the classical music station on, snuggling up and having sweet dreams. But that is not all. Even though this adventure has ended, stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned for ‘Corey and Oats’s Galactic Journey’, a few new holiday specials, ‘Cinnamon: Princess of the Flowery Forest’ and ‘Return to Weta Workshop’..

andrew!peter x loki-variant!reader | fluff
summary: you're a loki variant who's sucked into the multiverse mess. you meet the famous Peter Parker, as well as two more Peter Parkers, one more annoying than the other. | FEM!READER NO WAY HOME SPOILERS! : Labcoat Peter is andrew!Peter btw.
Tumblr media
Waking up in a pile of sand described your entire life in less than ten words.
One second, you were arguing with Mobius and now here you are, surrounded by trashcans and dirt. Luckily, you still had your knives, which were your only source of comfort. Last week, Sylvie had given you a wide range of choices of weapons to choose from, but you stuck to your daggers. You didn't have the time or patience to figure out machine guns and crossbows.
Besides, the only secret one needs to know about knives was something you had already memorized years ago — the sharper the edge, the cleaner the cut.
You stood up, groaning from the mild pain which was now climbing up your spine. Before you could figure out your next step, a familiar voice spoke from behind.
"Y/N?"
You let out a sigh of relief.
In foreign lands, who wouldn't be happy to see someone friendly? Peter Parker got under your skin most of the time, but he's one of the only few Avengers you didn't hate. You also immediately connected the dots — if there's Peter, you were on Midgard, a place you have been to a lot of times because of Loki.
"What's going on? Didn't you like, die last year?"
"No, that was Loki," you corrected, loosening the grip on your knife.
"No, I'm pretty you both died."
"Gods never really die," you said mysteriously, not wanting to explain how Loki stole the Tesseract and weaseled his way out of this mess. Your words had the intended effect on him, whose mouth fell open like a baby who's been shown card tricks for the first time.
"But how am I here?" you wondered, shivering against the cold. "I was literally winning the argument against Mobius and now I'm in this dump of a planet, no offense."
"None taken. Er, listen I might know something about that."
You groaned. "What did you do now? Are we in another world catastrophe?"
"It's more of an intergalactic problem," he said, pointing to the door behind him, something you haven't noticed before.
Turns out, you were currently standing in the dumpster behind some sort of unused laboratory. Or that's what you assumed by the hazard pictogram on the metal anyway.
Hesitating, you followed the boy inside. He muttered under his breath about something or the other, but you were too distracted to make out the words.
"There are some new faces by the way," he said, sounding exhausted.
Finally stepping into the light, you saw that it indeed was a laboratory, but it definitely wasn't empty. Ned and MJ were people you instantly recognized, but there were two more men — one in a labcoat and another in casual attire.
"Y/N!" MJ smiled, which made you soften inside. It wasn't everyday that someone was happy to see you. "Peter, c'mon did the multiverse thing bring her here too?"
"I think so?" he said, scratching the back of his head. "Uh, meet Y/N everyone."
The one you assumed to be the oldest just gave you a sympathetic smile, as if he could see how confused and worried you were inside. Nice guy, you decided.
The Labcoat looked up from whatever solution he was brewing, web-shooters pointing straight at you already. Not so nice.
"She's friendly, we know her," Peter said quickly, the one who was still standing next to you. You remained unaffected by Labcoat's hostility and decided to clear some things up.
"Wait, wait they're your variants?" you were excited. It wasn't every day you met others of your kind.
"Kind of?"
His hesitation made you raise an eyebrow. "And I'm here because someone tampered with the multiverse?"
"Possibly," he nodded grimly.
"That someone being you?"
"It wasn't his fault!" Labcoat Peter said sharply, though he did lower his hands.
"Charmed to meet you too," you said, tilting your head to one side. "What are you people trying to do anyway?"
"There are monsters we need to cure—" the youngest Peter's voice was cut off by Labcoat.
"Don't tell her the plan, she looks suspicious." He almost sounded like a protective brother, which you found interesting.
You did a quick scan of his face. Kind eyes, but tired ones. He's been pushing himself for the last many years, you could see that. Why he had marked you as untrustworthy was yet to be known, but it wasn't the most unusual thing to happen that day.
"I'm literally the nicest person ever," you shrugged, sitting down on an empty chair.
"Is that why you have a knife?"
"Three knives," you corrected. "Plus one switchblade."
"Okay, we're not fighting when we have things to do," the oldest Peter said, gesturing to all the different books before him. "And you look cold, do you want a blanket or something? I can look around—"
"I'm fine," you interrupted. "I'd rather have a ticket out of this place and you mortals clearly need my help."
You were about to take a bottle of acetone, but webs knocked it out of your hands. Unsurprised, you glared at Labcoat. It was clear that you wouldn't get anything done if he's still being like this.
"I don't care who you think you are," you said angrily, standing up. "But you should think twice before getting on the bad side of a witch and a god."
"You're a god?" Just for a second, he looked genuinely surprised. It definitely caught him off guard. You smiled.
"God is just a title, witch is what you should watch out for," you said, snapping your fingers.
The bottle instantly flew out of his reach and came back to your waiting fingers. That little show did render him speechless, making you oddly proud inside.
"Right so, uh, now that's done, here's our plan," the youngest Peter said, spreading a chart over the table.
------
Their idea was well thought out, which also mean it was very boring.
You almost drifted off to sleep while Peter was lecturing on how to make the cures. Being a Loki and convincing others that you wanted to be helpful was no small feat, especially when there seemed to be someone who wanted to see you fail.
But as much as Labcoat Peter was annoying, he was also the one who did his part first, meaning your target of the plan should be him.
Of course you had a plan, you're a Loki. You were not exactly concerned with the well-being of Midgard. Interested? Yes. Not so much worried. You had more pressing issues, none of which could be addressed if you're stuck here.
"Hello," you said smoothly, sliding your seat next to him. Labcoat looked up, suddenly wary.
"I won't do it," he said plainly.
"I didn't say anything—"
"You're obviously in need of something. Why else would you stick around on Earth?" he asked, as though it was clear as the water in front of him.
"Peter's my friend."
"Acquaintances is a better word. If expect me to believe you care about him, then you must think I'm not the smartest."
You frowned. It might have been your fault to underestimate him but that didn't mean you were going to give up. You decided to take a different approach. Heroes were always easily persuadable.
"Fine," you sighed, folding your hands. "I do wanna go back. Is that so bad?"
"If you care about going back more than fixing this, that makes you dangerous," he recited off, taking a solution even though you knew it was ready.
"You're stupid if you think I need a reason to be dangerous," you smiled, leaning your head against your hand and looking up at him. Your playfulness only made him seem more tired.
"Alright then," he said, giving in. "If you're so powerful, what do you want? Why can't you just spin and vanish to wherever you wanna go in a puff of green smoke?"
"Because I don't know where the TVA is," you replied, a little impatiently. "I need a temp pad to go back and it's not something I can make in two seconds."
"And you think I'll make it?" He sounded so amused that you knew he won't agree to it so easily.
You thought for a bit before speaking. "TVA is ruining my life. All Lokis' lives actually. You're a variant of a Peter Parker. You don't know what it's like for us.
You get to be a hero in every universe. What would you do if you spend your whole life running and came to realize that the dumb choices you did weren't your fault but some idiots calling themselves the Time-Keepers?"
"What?"
"You got to be good. I didn't have a choice," you said sharply. "I'd rather go back to my own universe and see my mom, my cat, and my plant — gods, did anyone even water the plant? And you know how long it's been since I've had the pancakes made by my brother?"
"Where are you going with this?" He interrupted, angrily meeting your eyes.
"You can go back home," you whispered, showing just a crack of vulnerability. Just enough that he visibly softened. "I can't. Not ever. The least I can do is burn down TVA and any gods who think they can take away free will. I just need the temp pad and I swear I'll go my own way."
"I haven't even heard of temp pad before! You can't expect me to make it!" he said defensively.
"You're smart and I'll help," you said, your voice suddenly excited. "Please?"
He sighed, making you properly smile. Heroes were always easily persuadable, especially if you made them think they were saving you.
------
"Where were you?" MJ asked, seeing you walk back into the laboratory half an hour later.
"Had to take care of something," you winked, then threw a glass rod to Labcoat. He caught it easily, not even looking up from what he was working on.
"This is too short," he said, then instantly added, "nevermind, I'll take care of it."
"What are you guys working on?" the youngest Peter asked, removing his glass goggles. "I thought you finished the cures."
"I did, this is just something for Y/N- AHA!" Labcoat Peter jumped up, and you almost expected him to start tap dancing. "Finally!"
"Is it done?" you asked, alarmed. "Already?"
"I think so, I've done all you told me, and now the chip's properly installed." He showed the small rectangle device, making you almost scream with joy yourself. Just as you were about to reach for it, he raised it over his head.
You groaned. "What now?"
"You are not walking off into the sunset while the rest of us needs help," he said, pointing to the laboratory. "You know magic. If anything goes wrong, it's good to have a god for backup."
"I thought I was suspicious."
"No, you're just annoying. I promise I'll give you the temp pad after this mess is over."
"Or I can just kill—" you stopped when you saw the youngest Peter was staring. No matter how grown-up he may be, he still looked like a wound puppy, or more specifically, like a kid whose parents are always fighting. You also remembered how he just lost his aunt.
"Fine," you muttered bitterly.
"Great!" MJ clapped her hands. "Do we start looking for the monsters now? Are all loose ends tied up nice and tight?"
"Actually, there's still Mr. Strange," the youngest Peter said, frowning. "I did trap him in the mirror dimension but I'm pretty sure he can't stay there for long."
"Don't worry about that, I took care of it," you said quickly.
"You did?" the oldest Peter asked, astonished.
"Why did you think I disappeared a while ago? I knew Stephen was the only one no one thought of so I kinda went ahead and did my own thing. Closed the portals for 24 hours. You're welcome."
"I thought you were out to get glass rods," Ned said, confused.
"I just picked it up from the trashcans on my way back." You shrugged. Everyone still looked surprised. "Seriously? Me helping without any strings attached is such a new concept?"
"It is, but we'll take about that later," Labcoat Peter said shrewdly. "And are we sure that the sorcerer Strange is such a liability? What if we need him?"
"Pfft, we won't," youngest Peter said, waving it off.
------
ONE HOUR LATER
"Uh, I think we need Mr. Strange!" he yelled, looking at the sky.
You followed his lead, then immediately wished you hadn't. There seemed to be purple clouds, which wouldn't be alarming if there weren't thousands of silhouettes adorned among them, as if the stars are transforming into millions of people.
You gulped, knowing most of them were probably unfriendly.
"We need to stop this messed up spell now," you yelled, eyes trained on the approaching madness.
"CALL BACK STRANGE!" Labcoat Peter yelled. "Open the portals and bring him back!"
"How the hell do I do that— he's going to be there for 24 hours!"
"Do you want the temp pad or not?"
You bit down your lips, something you did whenever you had to make a choice between what was good for you versus what was good for everyone else.
"Give me the temp pad first," you demanded, holding out your hand.
"No, I'm not stupid," he said, stepping closer.
Cursing, you closed your eyes, trying to think of any incantation which would work, something to break the protective charm you had placed over the mirror dimension. If you somehow did that, Stephen could easily find his own way back.
You decided on a simple reversible spell, one that wasn't too complicated to do or remember. Clapping your hands together, you drew upon the power from any source you could — the air, the earth, the smell of apple trees a mile away — anything and everything you could connect with.
"Now," you whispered, lowering yourself and touching the ground with your hand.
Green smoke peaked out of the pebbles, then a glass-shattering sound echoed through the plane, one that was so strong that everyone stopped what they were doing and stared. You tried to help, but all it seemed to do was bring a ringing to everyone's ears.
"What the hell happened?" an unfamiliar voice said, making you turn in shock. A man in a long red cape was looking upon your small group with exasperated eyes.
"Mr. Strange!" the youngest Peter yelled, running forwards to hug him.
Stephen frowned at this gesture of affection and you would have laughed, but you had more pressing issues at hand. You turned to your Peter.
"Give me the temp pad, Labcoat," you said sharply, pointing at his hand.
"Labcoat? That's worse than Webhead," he scoffed, though he did seem entertained. Too entertained actually.
"I did what you asked!" you snapped. "Now hand it over."
"I said I'll give it to you after you're done with the fight," he said, holding the device close to his heart. "And you're going back to your home, not TVA. Go back to your family and land of pancakes."
"No," you gritted your teeth, angry and exhausted after the spell you just did.
You pounced, trying to get it off his annoyingly sticky fingers. He clawed at it with force, and the two of you were literally wrestling over a device while the universe was falling apart. Not your best moment.
"Let it go," you warned. "I'm saying this one last time, let it go."
"No!" he yelled.
"Then we're doing this my way," you whispered triumphantly, then pressed the button on its screen, the one that had the coordinates of where you needed to be.
Then all turned to dust.
-----
Pure darkness greeted you when you opened your eyes. You stood up, lighting the nearest lantern with magic, and saw that you were in a cellar of some kind.
"Where the hell am I?" Labcoat Peter yelled, jumping up from the floor at the sudden light.
"Welcome to TVA!" you said smugly. "I told you to let go."
"Huh," he stood up, looking around. "TVA's smaller than I imagined."
"Well, we're obviously in some kind of basement, I just need to find a way out." You squinted your eyes. "Wait, why are you not freaking out?"
"Hm?" He turned to you with a smile he had clearly lost trying to fight. "Oh, that's because we're in Tessa's cafe. In the cellar actually."
"What?"
"See," he pointed to the boxes in the corner, the ones that had a large 'T' printed on their sides. "I recognize the logo."
You were only more confused. "You've been to TVA before?"
He laughed, a full booming laugh that made you want to strangle him. "We're not in TVA, Your Highness."
A god doesn't usually go speechless, but that's sort of what happened with you. Saying "no" repeatedly under your breath, you went to the door, trying to force it open.
"The temp pad didn't work?" you yelled all the while you were pulling at the handle. "Why the fuck didn't it work?"
"Because I don't know how to make a fudging temp pad!" he said, still amused. "I'm smart, but not enough to literally make a portal through universes. I made a random gadget so you would stick around and help us."
"You did what?"
"I don't know how we're back at my universe though. My best bet is Stephen took care of it and fixed the spell. See, I knew he'd be useful!"
You were fuming.
No really, you could feel the anger coursing through your veins, burning everything from the inside out.
"I'm. Stuck. In. Your. Fucking. Universe?"
"With me!" he added joyfully. "Now I know it won't be as good as your pancakes but Tessa's has some excellent coffee. C'mon, it's my treat."
He used his webs to pull the door open, then casually walked past you, oblivious to your glares.
You followed him reluctantly because there wasn't much you could do. After the entire mess in Midgard, coffee didn't sound so bad. You could always just kill him later.

Truth will set you free
I love how this show mirrors Loki's development in the movies while also going more in depth of why and how it happened.
Loki has always been his own biggest enemy. We see it in the memory of Sif. He remembers how he shrugged it off when it really happened but it was one of the thousand papercuts that turned him into the spiteful asshole who tried to kill his brother. His way of getting the attention he wanted was to annoy people because negative attention is still attention. But what he really craved was their love and respect and this was a clear way to never get it.
Of course, in Asgard, the skills that were really appreciated were the warrior ones. The kind Loki was never that good with and his brother possessed in abundance. So he found a different way to get people to pay attention to him. Even if they hated him for it. He told himself he doesn't care. That it doesn't matter because he is smarter than them anyway. But of course it did. It always matters.
And he wasn't the only asshole. The whole first Thor film was about Thor learning how to be less of a one. They both became their own versions of a bully. Thor was callous one who just never paid attention to others or considered their point of view. He just chased his own fun without thinking of consequences. And Loki was the one who acted out by tormenting others just so they would notice him.
And it all boiled over when Loki learnt he wasn't even an Asgardian. All the feelings of not fitting in and all the rejections added up. He over reacted because that was always his go to and became exactly what he thought they thought of him. A villain.
It's not an accident he became a better person when he finally believed that Odin and especially Thor cared. Even when he would finally expect the expected and anticipate his betrayals Thor still wanted him. This belief that he can be a good person and a hero is what made him become one. This is the Loki who saved Asgard as people by destroying the place. He saved the day and made sure Hela was defeated. Because he finally believed his brother believed in him.
And then he was a hero again when he saved Thor from Thanos. And it ultimately saved half the Universe. One of biggest lies TVA told him was that he was destined to lose. It helped that they forced him to cut the crap and forced him to face the lies he told himself but it's also important that he rebuilt himself. They didn't do it to him. He saw what he could be in Sylvie - someone who didn't even have the home and family he had and still manage to almost destroy TVA all by herself. And he believed in her.
We saw once again what the power of such belief can do. Because when he believed in Sylvie he was also believing in himself and it was powerful enough that it created a nexus even in a total apocalypse. Helping others achieve greatness is a more glorious purpose than any Loki has ever proclaimed to have.
All this talk about destiny and the 'sacred timeline" has always been bullshit. It's the choices one makes that decide if they are more good of more bad. Sylvie was the big bad - the Variant that got away and killed countless agents - but really she was always the hero. She just needed someone to see it. Even her powers of mind control with the creepy feeling they always bring are the ones that help set people free not imprison them. They give them back their lives.
It's always about how you use your skills that decide if it's right or wrong and the Universe uses Lokis to bring back the free will. The ones who insert unpredictability. The demigods who have the smarts, the skills and the conviction to destroy the chains that bind it.
Too bad that Loki didn't manage to tell Sylvie he figured out how they can do it together. He understood it because Mobius told him they can create new timeline together. And he knows they can defeat the TVA that way because Mobius believed in him and believed him when he said he could do it. It was always Mobius plan and he got it in the end.
MCU has always been about families and familiar love and relationships more than any romantic notion. I try to stay away from shipping wars but I'm pretty sure neither Mobius nor Sylvie are romantic interest. They are a stand ins for Odin and Thor - a father figure (or mentor) and a sibling. And the way he loses one and then dies in front of the other mirrors the movies nicely too.
Luckily, Loki was right Lokis don't really die. At least not from glowy sticks. So Sylvie can get her information from Ravonna and escape with B-15. and he can get his from other Lokis and pick Mobius(es) on his way back. And then they can bring back the multiverse.

Hey there, I saw you wanted obey me themes story ideas. How about a date with beelzebub where the Mc and him hike up to a plateau area then have a picnic and stargaze. Then beel flys them home I order to avoid missing curfew. Make it very fluffy and full of love!
A picnic date with Beel!
(Thank you for the idea! I thought this was an absolutely adorable concept 😊 enjoy!)
“So, what do you say?”
The voice of the tall demon hit your ears as you looked up from your desk.
“A picnic?”
Beelzebub nodded.
You smile, standing from your chair. “I’d love to.”
That’s what Beel had asked the other day. Naturally he asked in advance, given he would need time to get things ready and he wanted to make sure you were down before he even started.
You’d heard from Belphegor that Beel was up all night—poor Belphie—specifically to make sure everything would be perfect, even going so far as to ask Barbatos for help on cooking.
As you got yourself ready to go, you grabbed a pair of hiking boots that Asmodeus had bought, so naturally they were very cute in style. A pair of stretchy jeans for ease of movement, and a warm sweater given the cold temperatures for this time of year. A sweater would be enough, it was still early autumn after all.
.. maybe a scarf, just for good measure.
With that all well and good, you took a small bag with a water bottle, mostly because Beelzebub had mentioned a hike prior to eating. You also made sure your D.D.D. was in your bag, put on silent.
With everything together, you walked out into the main hall to see Beelzebub. His hair looked a little nicer than usual, and he wore a similar pair of hiking boots to your own. You couldn’t help but wonder if Asmodeus helped him get ready.
Beel glanced over and waved. “Ready?”
“Yep.” You said with a grin.
Beelzebub made sure to let Lucifer know that you two were leaving—we don’t need him worrying when you weren’t present for dinner—and with that, you were off.
He took you on a small walk down a shopping street, pointing out some of his favorite restaurants in the area, even suggesting you stop at one for a quick bite.
“Aren’t we going to eat later?” You asked.
“Yea.. but this place has really good dessert.”
You laughed softly, grabbing his hand and entwining your fingers together. “We can have some after, okay?”
Beel glanced away, though you saw the red on his cheeks. “Kay..”
The shopping street was decorated in lights from shop to shop across the street, all of different colors in different areas, and the many aromas that hit your nose made your mouth water. The scent of fried foods, grilled foods, and baked goods too. You.. really should have brought a snack for the walk.
“.. Okay.” You said, glancing to another shop nearby. “Maybe.. We can have a little something.”
Beelzebub perked up, suddenly dragging you over to none other than Madam Scream’s.
You found his eagerness as he ordered really, really cute.
Of course, you also had to make sure he didn’t order an entire meal. Knowing Beel, he’d order the whole restaurant if he isn’t stopped.
With a bit of haggling with him the two of you were able to settle on a box of macarons. There were only five, and you couldn’t help but wonder if you should just give him the extra or cut it in half.
As you and Beel sat on a bench nearby to snack, he held up a macaron to your mouth.
“Take a bite.” He said.
With a raised brow, you took a small bite. Before you pulled away, Beel leaned in close.
He sunk his teeth into the other half, grinning like an idiot as he did.
Your face suddenly felt really warm.
He bit off half of the macaron in practically one bite, sitting up and watching as other people passed by.
“Dork..” You mumbled as you playfully punched his arm.
With the snack done, Beelzebub took your hand and led you down the rest of the street, almost not giving you a chance to throw away the trash.
A hop, skip, and a jump later the two of you approached a large mountain, standing right at the entrance to a hiking trail.
“It’s not as long as it looks.” Beelzebub said, noticing your wide eyes as you stared up at the huge formation. “.. Besides, we’re not going all the way to the top anyway.” He shuffled. “Another day, maybe. I don’t think I could walk all that way without eating something.”
You laughed. “Don’t eat the trees, please.”
Beel looked away, though a smile tugged at his lips.
He took your hand once more, giving your palm a quick squeeze before you started down the trail. Even though there weren’t too many people around, Beelzebub made sure you stayed very close to him. He even wrapped an arm around you at one point, and with his huge stature his arm almost wrapped around you entirely. That did make it a little hard to walk, but you didn’t mind.
The further down you went, the quieter it became. Most of the sounds you heard came from the forest around the trail. An animal, or maybe the wind dashing through the trees.
One would think this would be terrifying, but for whatever reason you didn’t feel any fear or stress. In fact, you found it quite beautiful.
As you walked, your eyes glanced at the large pine trees surrounding you, the flowers and foliage lining the untouched areas of the ground.
A few small bugs would appear every now and then, and you even spotted one somewhat resembling a ladybug.
To think, even a place where demons roamed could be beautiful like this… then again, demons weren’t so bad. At least, not the ones you knew.
“Oh!” You exclaimed, quickly pulling out your phone.
Beelzebub glanced over, looking around for a moment before settling back on you as he realized no one else was around.
You quickly snapped a photo of the sunset through the trees, overlooking the devildom. From here, you could see the academy as well as the castle, and the whole surrounding area. The mix of colors that the sky made during sunset and the visible light shining through the trees made for a breathtaking view.
Even Beel had stopped for a moment to take it in.
“Isn’t it great?” You said, taking the chance to lean on the demon. He didn’t seem to notice, but his arm slipped under yours, snaking around your waist. You leaned more on him, and he made sure to keep you upright.
Beelzebub glanced down.
“.. we’re almost there, you know.” He said.
You nodded, looking up at him. “You’re starving, aren’t you?” You can’t help but laugh as he nodded.
Beelzebub keeps his head turned for a moment. He then turns to face you.
His cheeks had gone red.
“Beel?”
He closed his eyes, leaning in very close.
The soft press of his lips sent a jolt through your entire body, His arm, still around your waist, tightens just a bit as he makes sure you’re right up against him.
He was so.. Warm. You didn’t know how else to react. Your once open eyes had closed, and now you stood there in silence as Beelzebub just wouldn’t let go.
For a moment you even felt his tongue brush against your lips, but he stopped right there and pulled his mouth away.
He wrapped his other arm around you, holding you for a moment.
With a small smile, you buried your face into him.
Unfortunately, he did have to let go of you.
Beelzebub let out a small huff, taking your hand for the fiftieth time as he led you down a smaller, less traveled down path.
He pushed a few tree branches out of the way, letting you take the first step onto a plateau, the edge of a portion of the mountain.
From here you could see even more of the devildom.
The sun had almost set by now, leaving only moonlight and stars to illuminate. Luckily, being right on the edge, the trees didn’t block that light. Even so, Beelzebub walked up to a blanket with a picnic basket that had been set out already.
He reached into one side of the basket and pulled out a few candles, setting them in holders placed around the blanket.
Wow.
Watching as he lit the candles, though he had to do one more than once, a warm feeling rose in your chest.
You walked over, taking a seat on the blanket and watching Beelzebub light the last candle.
He put a hand on his hip, looking up at you.
“Well..” He said. He took the spot next to you, crossing his legs and glancing at you once before opening the basket. He reached in and pulled out a handful of small sandwiches, and while they weren’t the prettiest food you’ve ever seen they still looked great.
He then pulled out a pack of strawberries, some kind of potato salad looking dish (with some definite differences to the human world variant), some bottled lemonade, and a small cake decorated with fruits.
He glanced down, looking a bit worried.
“I know it’s not all super fancy.. I tried to make it all nice, but I’m not really the greatest cook.” Beelzebub said, putting his hands in his lap.
“Barbatos had to show me how to do some of this stuff. He made the cake, actually. I had trouble keeping myself out of the fruit so he locked me out of the kitchen while he made it.” He sighed. “.. I’m sorry it isn’t the best.”
He wasn’t at all sure if you’d like this. In fact, he guessed you wouldn’t.
But you.. You had stars in your eyes.
He made this all himself. Well, with help, but he still put in a lot of work.
“Beel..” You say softly, suddenly tackling him onto his back.
Sat atop him, you leaned down and kissed Beelzebub.
He made a small sound, staring at you.
“You don’t hate it?” He asked.
“Beel, all of this just for me?” You said, laughing. “Wh- even the sandwiches.. They’re shaped like hearts. You..”
He blushed, looking off toward the city.
“You dumb dumb.. I love it.”
Beelzebub almost didn’t believe you for a moment. But as he watched you take a bit of a sandwich and smile at him, he felt comforted.
You moved back to the spot you were sitting, munching happily on your sandwich and soon, Beel got himself back up too.
He grabbed two sandwiches, scarfing one down pretty fast. Though, he tried to go slower on the second.
You gave him one extra, as you wanted to save room for the cake, and you knew he would have plenty regardless of what he ate.
Were they super pretty looking? No. But you were lying if you said they didn’t taste great.
“Mm.” You mumbled, looking to Beelzebub with a smile.
With a hum, you climbed into his lap and grabbed a strawberry, eating happily while Beel just stared.
“Hm.” Beel muttered, using a fork to grab a bite of cake. He held the fork up to your mouth, letting you take the very first bite.
“Mmm!” You hummed, deciding to grab the fork from his hands to take another bite. Instead of eating more, Beel just watched.
He wrapped his arms around your waist, pressing his face into the curve of your neck and shoulder and staying there.
“Beel.” You said, ruffling his orange hair. “You should eat some cake too. I can’t eat it all myself.”
“Mm..”
You watch, taking a hefty chunk onto the fork to hold up for the demon.
He lifted his head a little, before almost biting the fork in half as he took his bite.
“Careful- don’t eat the silver!” You laughed.
Beelzebub smiled, closing his eyes as he held onto you.
This little charade of you feeding him and him feeding you went on until the cake had been reduced to crumbs.
You, to be honest, were stuffed. Three sandwiches, god knows how many strawberries, potato salad, and at least two whole slices of cake were plenty to keep you happy.
Surprisingly, Beelzebub seemed satisfied too. Was it the food, or the fact he’d been cuddling you in his lap this whole time?
Whatever the answer, you didn’t mind.
You felt content, so much so your eyes felt heavy.
With a soft exhale, you sunk into Beelzebub’s arms and fell asleep.
… well, that didn’t last so long.
You felt a warm breath on your ears, and a low voice called to you.
“MC… MC!”
Opening your eyes slowly, you glanced up at Beel.
“Hmm…?”
“I didn’t wanna wake you up..” He let out a grumble. “We gotta get home. Lucifer will kill us.”
For a second you didn’t quite understand. Why would Lucifer…?
“Oh shit.” You looked at your phone.
The curfew that the eldest brother had set was fast approaching.
You stood up, just a little too quick for someone that just woke up, but you kept your balance as you helped Beel pack up what needed to be, and ready a bag of trash.
He put out the candles and grabbed the holders, before looking around.
He clicked his tongue. “Okay..”
All of a sudden, Beelzebub wrapped an arm around you and practically picked you up.
“You.. maybe wanna hold onto me. And the basket.” He said.
That’s when you noticed, his horns were out.
“Beel?” You mumbled.
“This is the fastest way home. Otherwise we’ll be late.”
“Beel, wait a sec- I’ve never actually been in the air like thi- whoa!!”
As your feet finally touched solid ground again you could feel the adrenaline still pumping through your body.
Beel leaned over, huffing and puffing as he tried to catch his breath.
“Go.. go on in.. I’ll be there in a minute..” He mumbled.
With a nod, you hurried in only to see Lucifer standing at the top of the stairwell.
He looked down at you, arms crossed, though surprisingly his expression wasn’t incredibly pissed.
“Welcome back.” Lucifer said.
Beelzebub walked in, looking up at Lucifer.
“We’re home.. On time.” He said.
Lucifer smiled softly.
“I trust you two didn’t get up to any trouble.”
“Nope!” You said, grinning pretty widely.

Venus Ambassador - 1
Loki x gender neutral reader
Loki tv spoilers
Prologue
You could feel your frustration build as you read through a court hearing where the judge and the defendant just kept going in circles, repeating themselves over and over and you were sick of it.
With a groan, you tossed it back on to the desk and leaned back in your chair, massaging your temples to try and soothe your growing headache.
‘I wasn’t made for all this legal shit,’ you thought, frustrated and annoyed. ‘Couldn’t they have, I don’t know, spiced it up a bit for me at least? All I’m asking for is maybe some more information on these different worlds and species. It’d be good to know what the heck a Daijiq is, not about how “x did this and altered the timeline so we gotta dust ‘em” and all that boring bullshit. They’re just having me read the court transcripts and write documents about how my dimension works. Not to mention making me watch that Hanna-Barbera-esque cartoon and then quizzing me on it.’
With another groan of mental pain you slouched back forward.
“You know what? Maybe I just need a (tea/coffee) break. Yeah, that sounds nice.”
You stand up from your chair and stretch, groaning as your bones and muscles protest at moving after being idle for so long. Thankfully, you were able to easily convince the TVA to provide you with a (tea/coffee) maker, which now sat and a small table in the corner of the room. You purposely placed it in the corner furthest away from your desk so that you’d be forced to get up and stretch your legs every so often, lest your muscles waste away into nothingness.
As your beverage was brewing, two knocks rapped at your office door. Before you could respond, they let themselves in. They held up a manilla folder and gave you a nod.
“New variant case.”
“Thanks.”
They placed the folder on your desk and promptly left. It seems neither you nor the TVA were still quite used to each other’s presence, despite you being here for a month already. You couldn’t really blame them. Afterall, your dimension’s inner workings completely went against their own and their ideals.
With a sigh, ‘more paperwork. Great,’ you head back to your desk with your piping hot drink. Not wanting to pick up that dreadfully boring court transcript you were reading, you decided you might as well take a look at the new file.
You take a sip of your drink as you open the file and gasp, accidentally letting in too much of the almost-boiling drink. You immediately start coughing and sputtering, and your tongue is definitely burned. After your coughing fit subsides, you rub your eyes and look at the file again in disbelief. You had only learned that this was the TVA in the Marvel Cinematic Universe last week; you weren’t expecting one of the characters to be here as a variant so soon!
Loki.
Drink forgotten on the desk, you grab the file and rush out of the room. You couldn’t let your anxiety take over now, not when you had the chance to meet the Loki. If we were talking about problematic favorites, then they were number one on the list. ‘I mean, they’re a villain and they’re hot. What was I supposed to do? Not simp over them?’ You knew Loki would be here eventually, having seen the trailers for the tv show, but when you arrived here, you had no idea what point of the timeline you were at. The show hadn’t aired yet, so you have no idea what’s to come. That thought makes you both nervous and excited.
It doesn’t take you long to reach the circulation desk. You hand the file to the person sitting there, and a bit out of breath you ask, “that variant… where are they?”
They give you a strange look before looking through their own files. “It looks like they are currently with Agent Mobius in Time Theater A, floor 2WE.”
“Thank you,” you hurriedly grab the file and speed-walk to the elevator. You’re not about to risk running through halls filled with armed TVA that could vaporize you with a single tap from their zappy sticks, especially since it seemed many of them didn’t quite like you. Luckily, there’s an elevator close by and you get there quickly, waiting for it to come to your floor after hitting the button. As soon as you confirm the elevator is empty after the doors open, you rush in and hit the button labelled ‘2WE.’ Now stuck with nothing to do but wait, your mind finally has a chance to catch you up on all the anxiety you forgot about—all those doubts that started to build up, wondering if this was a good idea. You start to pace around the small space as nerves get the better of you, nearly jumping out of your skin when the elevator dings and the doors slide open. There’re people rushing about, like always, and you do your best to squeeze past them to Time Theater A.
You slip through the theater doors as quickly as possible, letting out a quick sigh of relief as soon as you’re out of the crowd. You look up, and there he is, sitting on the steps to your left, face in hands and tesseract beside him.
He looks so… lost.
“Um, are you okay?” You asked without thinking, immediately berating yourself in your head. ‘Stupid! Of course, he’s not okay! They just got kidnapped by the TVA and now look at them! He looks so… despaired? Unsure? Like everything he thought he knew was a lie? Again?!’
He glances up at you, slightly lifting his head out of his hands and raises an eyebrow.
You stand there awkwardly for a couple seconds, not quite sure what to do. ‘They seem like a tea person; I should’ve brought tea… wait, shit, I don’t have a thermos. There’s no way I could bring some tea all the way down here without spilling it all over myself and—okay, you know what. Fuck it,’ you leave all caution to the wind and walk over to him, sitting on the steps to his left.
“…that was a stupid question, wasn’t it?” you said, letting out a single self-deprecating huff of laughter. A moment of silence passed between the two of you. You take a deep breath. “It’s okay to feel things, you know. It’s also okay to let others see that you feel things. I know that it’s hard, but sometimes it’s easier with a stranger. So, if you want to, you can…vent? Fuck, sorry, I can’t think of the other word for it, and you don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with—actually, you know what, forget it, just forget I said anything at all and now I’m rambling and making a fool of myself—okay, deep breaths.”
You felt absolutely mortified. He you were, tiny insignificant mortal you, trying to comfort a literal deity who you may or may not simp for and making a complete fool of yourself. This time, it’s your turn to bury your face in your hands. You want to scream in frustration at yourself, but there’s no way you’d do that in front of them. You peek at them between your fingers to see that he’s looking at you with confusion written on his face.
“Heheh… sorry about that. I tend to ramble a lot… especially when I don’t know what to do,” you take another deep breath and turn to look at them. “But where are my manners. I’m (y/n), nice to meet you—"
“Loki,” Agent Mobius cuts you off as he enters the room, wielding the phaser stick.
‘This… this is not a good situation right now, is it?’
Hey. I know some people (like myself) like to be added to the taglist so… if you wanna… lemme know and I’ll slap your name on it. Ok. So. I’m going to try to update this weekly as the episodes air. Maybe biweekly if I need to cut some chapters in half because they’re long and I wanna post what I’ve finished so far. But maybe, just maybe, as we get further into the series, I’ll drop some little omakes here and there, small fluffy interactions…

Fate and Phantasms Far Side #3: Kohaku
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we have another bonus episode for you! We’re building Kohaku, the ever-energetic maid who comes packing with probably helpful medicine and the occasional robot. As usual for far sides, everything below this point come directly from Magical-Biche on Reddit!
Check out Kohaku’s build breakdown below, or her character sheet over here!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey, it’s me, the guy who builds Tsukihime builds! Since the remake got announced uhh… already a month ago, I figured it’d be perfect time to free some time in my heavy schedule for a Tsukihime waifu once in a while. For the return of this highly anticipated series, we’ll take a look at a character which has plenty of tricks up her sleeves: Kohaku. A fan favorite for several reasons, she was quite easy to build due to how weirdly some of her core mechanics are already featured in Dungeons & Dragons. I’m mostly using her Melty Blood skill set for the build, but as soon as I can introduce skills we know from the Visual Novels. Needless to say, the whole build is a huge spoiler for what Kohaku does throughout the games, and you may not want to read it if you didn’t finish Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya.
Race and Background
Kohaku is a variant human. She technically has a bit of psychic powers, but they are passive and absolutely nothing any race can give comes close to it, so we’re going human here. The variant allows us to get + 1 in constitution and +1 in intelligence, and the chef feat, giving us another +1 in constitution, and the ability to cook delicious meals with or without suspicious substances, which adds a layer of healing and temporary hit points on our already impressive healing abilities. It gives us our first of many tool proficiencies, the cooking utensils. We also get a proficiency in insight, which helps us determine whether people are worth teasing/throwing into a bottomless trap.
Next, we are going to be an Izzet engineer. Those folk, who come directly from Ravnica, fit our mad scientist personality perfectly. Being an Izzet engineer gives us access to the Urban Infrastructure ability, which helps building more complex traps (and find them, if we ever feel like being nice to our group), and proficiencies in Arcana and Investigation, two extremely useful intelligence skills. We also get our second tool proficiency. We’re taking carpenter’s tools, to create the most intricate traps there are. Bottomless pits won’t build themselves from the ground up. We also get one set of artisan’s tools of our choice, so we’ll take Alchemist supplies, since they’re the costliest of the bunch and extremely useful. Don’t worry, we’re getting the proficiency in a little bit. Finally, we get the pretty unique feature of having access to more spells: Izzet guild spells. The notable ones (the ones we don’t normally get from our class) are Chaos bolt, Create or destroy water, Unseen servant (level 1 spells), and Call lightning, and Otiluke’s resilient sphere (third level spells). Since it is a Ravnica background, the DM might ban the expanded spell list, but none of these spells are necessary to our build, anyway.
Ability Scores
We are a genius, and a bit of a melee combatant. We’re pumping everything in intelligence. Next, we need high constitution and dexterity, which will also serve to multiclass into rogue. We are pretty average when it comes to wisdom and charisma (I do admit we are pretty cute, though). We’re dumping strength, even though it means we won’t be able to fight well with our broom, but it’s a necessary sacrifice. Our hidden katana (read: dagger) will work just as well.
Class Levels
Artificer 1: We are a crafty inventor. Being an artificer only makes sense to us. The first level of artificer gives us proficiency with constitution saving throws, great to keep our concentration on spells and avoiding nasty poison effect, and intelligence saving throws: we’re the one who make fools of others, and not the other way around! We can also choose two new proficiencies, and we’re taking medicine, since we’re actually a pretty skilled doctor, and sleight of hand, as we will need to tinker complex traps and unlock a few locks from time to time.
We also get proficiencies with light and medium armors, but we’re only ever going to use light armor. Kohaku doesn’t really wear armor, but she could be wearing several thick layers of kimono, which can probably stop a blade in a pinch. We’re also proficient with shields, and Kohaku definitely never wears a shield throughout the Tsukihime timeline, so we won’t be using them.  We’re also proficient with simple weapons, and those are the only weapons we’re having access to, so we have to do with them. We’ll be mainly using the dagger as our “secret blade”, and our quarterstaff as a substitute for our broom. Finally, we’re proficient with thieves’ tools, useful for disarming traps that may or may not have been installed by us, tinker’s tools, our bread-and-butter for repairing all sort of stuff, from traps to weapons, and alchemist supplies, to further our healing capabilities, and it blends well with our medicine proficiency.
We finally get to our core features. First level of artificer gives us Magical tinkering, which lets us do pretty nice things. We can basically sleep on prestidigitation, light, message, and minor illusion thanks to this feature. It doesn’t do as much as each of these individual spells, but it does it differently, and it’s still great to have so much utility here. We also get our Spellcasting. We’re a half caster with druid/cleric like spell preparation. We can prepare a number of spells equal to our intelligence modifier + half our artificer level (rounded down), and we can choose those spells from our spell list each time we finish a long rest. Our spellcasting ability is of course intelligence, and we use our alchemist’s supplies as a spellcasting focus, because of our subclass we don’t have yet.
We start with two artificer cantrips, and we’re taking Booming blade, to emulate bombs, and controlling people movement fits our character well: people will think twice before moving in our direction. Next, we take Acid splash, a pretty weak damaging cantrip, but it’s another kind of bomb we can add to our arsenal. It can also touch two targets at once, which mitigate the low damage of the spell. It is also a saving throw, so it will always be useful anyway.
Since we have access to every artificer spell, plus the potential Izzet spells, there won’t be a definitive spell list here. It is recommended to get Tasha’s caustic brew, Snare, Cure wounds, Grease and Alarm, as they fit our game plan very well.
Artificer 2: Our next artificer level is more complex than it seems. We get our infusions, 4 of them. We’re taking the Replicate magic item, to have ourselves a bag of holding to hold all our stuff, the Enhanced defense, that we’re infusing to our armor to help with defense, the Homunculus servant, so we can have our very own Not-exactly-a-mech-Hisui once we get enough money, and Mind sharpener, which will help maintaining concentration on though fight. So far, we can only use 2 of these infusions at the time, so we’ll focus on the replicate magic item and enhanced defense for now.
Artificer 3: We get our speciality! We are now an Alchemist. We gain proficiency with Glassblower’s tools, as we already have a proficiency with the alchemist supplies, and those tools can be used to create vials to hold our various mixtures. We get an expanded spell list, again, which gives us interesting spells like Melf’s acid arrow, Healing word, Ray of sickness, Gaseous form and Mass healing word. Flaming sphere is not bad, but it doesn’t really fit our concept as a whole. We also get our Experimental elixir, which is one random potion every long rest. All the effects are helpful, even though some are more than others. We also get the Right tool for the job, which lets us create artisan tools, which is neat.
Rogue 1: Of course, we’re going rogue. We’re a sneaky trickster, after all, and we’re pretty skilled at it. Our first rogue level gives us the famous Thieves cant, which we will quickly forget. More interesting, we get a skill proficiency, and we’re taking Deception. It’s less useful than persuasion, but we need to lie more than we need to persuade. We also get Expertise in 2 skills of our choice, which will be Deception and Medicine, two of our most important skills. With expertise in medicine, we mitigate our low wisdom, and we’re able to pretty much always stabilize our fallen allies, especially when we get past level 5. What’s more, we get the rogue’s main feature, the Sneak attack! Sneak attack can be used with booming blade for pretty huge damage, in the right conditions, and it’s getting even better starting next level.
Rogue 2: Speaking of next level, here it is. The second rogue level gives us cunning action, and we now always have some use for our bonus action. We can hit with booming blade + Sneak attack, then retreat. We can add some movement to our turn, and we can try to hide in the shadows, not that we’re particularly good at it.
Rogue 3: We get our second archetype. We’re now both an alchemist and a Mastermind, which gives us yet another round of proficiencies: Disguise kit, Forgery kit and a Gaming set. Those three are not the most useful tools we have access to, but they can always be used creatively. We can also Mimic speech, but that’s not exactly a meta redefining feature. More importantly, we are also a Master of tactics, giving us yet another use for our bonus action in the form of Help. We can help our ranged allies to hit close-ish targets with that feature, too.
Artificer 4: Our first ability score increase comes at level 7, and luckily, we’re not too dependent on feats. We’re simply increasing our intelligence by 2 and call it a day.
Artificer 5: This level is very interesting, because we get a neat little feature that tremendously increases our distance damage. We are now an Alchemical savant, and provided that we use our alchemist supplies as a spellcasting focus, we can add our intelligence modifier to the damage rolls of any fire, necrotic, poison and acid damage, and to every one of our healing rolls. Sadly, this doesn’t buff our melee damage, but we can’t have everything. Also, the ability is weirdly worded: as it is written in the book, it looks like you must use your spellcasting focus to cast the spell for the damage and healing to be buffed. However, if it does work like that, we'd have a total of 5 spells of level 0-3 that are affected by the feature, so I’d say it works with every one of your spells that is cast with intelligence.
We also get our new level 2 spells. The ones that are interesting for our build are Enlarge/reduce, Heat metal, protection from poison, pyrotechnics, rope trick, Spider climb and Web. The first is based on one of our actual feats of enlarging our mistress, one time. Heat metal is an overall tricky and useful spell to have. Protection from poison is useful to protect our allies from friendly fire, and the last 4 spells are all great traps and terrain manipulation, which is what we want to do.
Artificer 6: This level is more straightforward, as it only really adds the Tool expertise feature, which allows us to double our proficiency bonus on all tools we’re proficient with. That is, a LOT of tools. We also get new infusions, and we’re getting the Spell refueling ring, a great tool to mitigate our too few spell slots per day, and Resistant armor, which is situational but very useful. We can also have 3 infusions active at the time, which is the maximum number of attunement we can have anyway. We can also now create two experimental elixirs per long rest, hurray!
Artificer 7: The seventh artificer level gives us Flashes of genius, which is a great tool to help the party. It can also be used to mitigate our own AOE damage on them, proving the party that we’re not here to kill them, we swear!
Artificer 8: Artificer 8 gets us a simple ability score increase, which we gladly take to increase our already high intelligence to new levels. We increase it by 2 points, to reach a total of 20.
Artificer 9: Our final level in artificer grants us a final subclass feature, the Restorative reagents. It makes it that our experimental elixir gives 2d6 + 5 temporary hit points to whoever drinks it. Also, we can now cast lesser restoration 5 times per long rest without having the spell prepared, which is a great way to remove harmful status ailments from allies for pretty much free.
We also gain our level 3 spells. The interesting spells from the list are Haste, which emulates the drugs you use on your poor party members,  Catnap, to represent the sleeping medicine you give them,  Protection from energy, for the same reason as protection from poison a bit earlier, and finally, the trappiest spell of them all, the one that really let us do crazy shenanigans,  Glyph of warding. This amazing spell is a literal modular trap which does pretty nice damage, doesn’t require concentration and it’s just so flexible. This is the only obligatory spell on the list.
Rogue 4: The fourth rogue level gives us our third ability score increase, and we’re getting a bit tankier and stabbier now. We increase our dexterity score by 2, this time, putting us at a nice 16.
Rogue 5: Fifth level rogues get uncanny dodge, a very powerful tool for survival. Nothing much to say, it’s great! (Editor’s note: might as well just say it anyway- use your reaction to take half damage from an attack- very useful!)
Rogue 6: We get 2 brand new expertises, which will be in Arcana, for being even better at understanding the mechanics behind the spells we use, and Sleight of hand, so we’re also a lot better at setting non-magical traps and disarming them.
Rogue 7: Now that we can mitigate damage with uncanny dodge, it’s time to get better at saving throws and get Evasion. Another extremely good ability we’ll never use too much. (EN: dex saves cause half damage on failure, 0 damage on success!)
Rogue 8: Our next ability score, and we’re getting yet another 2 points in dexterity, so we now have a more than decent armor class and solid melee attacks.
Rogue 9: Rogue’s ninth level gives us our second subclass ability, and we are now an Insightful manipulator. We can now assess our current target’s strength, but at this point, we’ve probably fought most of the bestiary and know everything there is to know about most threats. It can still be used against bosses, but it’s not exactly great since we’re not that good at sneaking.
Rogue 10: Our tenth level in the rogue class gives us yet another ability score increase. We are actually a pretty crafty person, and poison is just another tool in our arsenal. We get the Poisoner feat, which lets us ignore resistance to poison damage and craft poison for our weapons. At that point, we should be filthy rich and can certainly afford the cost to do so and poison basically every single one of our strikes. With Booming Blade, sneak attack and the poison damage, our damage output is actually pretty crazy.
Rogue 11: Our final level gives us a very, very nice little boost: thanks to Reliable Talent, we basically can’t score under 16 + ability modifier, or 22 + ability modifier with expertise, for skills and tools we are proficient with. We now have a passive Arcana of 27, Sleight of hand of 26 (whatever a passive sleight of hand score means), Deception and Medicine of 22, a passive investigation and insight of 21 and passive abilities with our numerous tools that are just as high (since you can use most tools with most abilities, the scores won’t be listed here, obviously). We can now pretty much recognize spells on sight, pickpocket on the go, lie as we breathe and treat injuries in a few moments, among other things.
Pros: We’re a tool monkey, and we use all of them like a pro when we reach level 20. We can craft a bunch of crazy stuff with all that. We’re also quite bulky, with decent hit dice and the rogue survivability, plus our artificer infusions. We are also good at dealing big bursts of damage thanks to booming blade, sneak attack and poisoner. What’s more, we’re quite good at healing and dispensing temporary hit points.
Cons: If we can’t trigger our sneak attack, our booming blade damage is not exactly huge. We don’t have many spells slots, and we quite like to use them. Also, we’re good at dealing damage, healing and controlling the battlefield, but we’re obviously not great at any of these things.

-looks at date of the last post on this blog- OOF IT’S BEEN OVER A YEAR this blog was always going to be a “post whenever” kind of blog but oops lol it’s a bit wild that the last thing I posted about was working on In Your Orbit, because I probably haven’t worked on it since that post jskfdhskj I switch projects a lot to avoid burnout anyway, but I’ve still been lacking focus in other areas too, unfortunately. I’ve been plugging away at Starglass Zodiac as best I can, but how monstrous that project is has worn on me a bit. Though that’s pretty normal considering where I am and the time of year. October-December is always hectic for me, and lately I’ve been using what’s left of my willpower and motivation to make holiday gifts for people, which has been draining in itself. Artists don’t sleep in December lmao I did a bit of a retrospective/update post thing back in July for Starglass’s 6th anniversary that talked about how slow the progress on that series feels right now, but... eh. That seems to be the thing I’ve been saying since forever so I guess not much has changed, but I am proud of the work I have completed thus far, at least. It is my biggest project to date too, so I guess that’s also to be expected That said, I’ve switched from that one for the time being, as a particularly long-standing depressive episode has got me in a weird mood. Luckily it’s not too bad with the intrusive thoughts this time, but I still find my mind returning to a different place this week. Or more specifically, a different story project. It’s called Demon Exchange, and you can read this post from 2019 if you wanna know more about it, but it’s basically the perfect embodiment of my current mindset, so perhaps that’s why it popped back into my head again. The two mains are basically two sides of my psyche that have to co-exist in the same brain so there’s that lmao I find it interesting that that particular story seems to come into much sharper focus when I’m depressed, but not every time for some reason. While I knew from the start that the themes present in it are related to that and the general absurdity and bad luck of my own life as well, but I honestly can’t remember the last time I thought about this series at length, outside of drawing Eva’s pet bat Kiki, I guess. I have no idea how far I’ll get with actually working on it, but I’ll do what I can while I’m thinking about it. I did a bit of tweaking to Eva’s design and did a sketch of her full demon form, so that’s something! It’s the odd duck among my WIPs for a variety of reasons, but the art style is the most noticeable one as this is currently the only thing I do that’s solely in greyscale with no plans for a colour variant. Normally I’m known for using absurd amounts of saturated colours instead, though I do really love doing B/W stuff too, the contrast hits so nicely and differently than in colour. Ah well, I get to play with pencil texture shading again so huzzah!

Scooby Doo Idea
Okay. The Gang were friends in high school, and while they all (with one notable exception. Stay tuned.) went to different colleges, they stayed in touch. They had had sort of an amateur investigative service running back in school, so when they all got out of their respective post-high-school obligations and realized that they all had no immediate plans (and privately, each of them realized that they all had emotional damage that made them reluctant to just go do adult life), they decided to take their investigative skills on the road, mostly as an excuse to semi-drop-out of society. Hey, it’s 1970. These things happen. But then, wherever they go they keep bumping into things that really do need solving. (“But where did they get the money for the van?” Daphne. “But all the food they have to buy--” Daphne. “But most people probably don’t pay them once their mystery gets solved--” Daphne. Daphne hasn’t even come into her inheritance proper yet, but her trust fund alone could buy Switzerland for cash.) Again, we are not trying to make this take on the series “modern” or “interesting” by having the characters constantly be at each other’s throats. They genuinely care about each other (and because this is me, will have settled into a full-on polycule before the series is over). It’s just that they all have,  from various sources, considerable emotional damage that they need to do their best to work through. (But we’re gonna do our best not to let them be defined by their damage. They still have [variants on] the personalities we know and love from the old cartoons.)
Norville “Shaggy” Rogers: As high school came to a close, he wasn’t really sure what he wanted to major in at college...and then Uncle Sam called, and he never got a chance to decide, because it was 1966 and the war was hungry. After three years of Hell, he got shot in the shoulder just badly enough to qualify for a discharge home, where he spent the next year failing to shake it off. Luckily for him, he’s blessed with a fairly supportive, understanding family, but still, he’s been through things no teenager should have to, and he’s been left with scars far deeper than the one in his left shoulder. (Note to self: get as accurate a picture as possible of actual PTSD symptoms. Yes, he has nightmares, and yes, there may be the occasional flashback, but we need more than just those two cliché things. Let’s see, what do I already know? Well, he gets protective of people he cares about, he’s generally kind of nervous and jumpy [as is the standard for this character, but now with more of a concrete reason], his huge appetite may partially be a reaction to memories of starving in the jungle; now that food is plentiful, he eats, because he can’t entirely convince his subconscious that it’s going to stay plentiful. And for all his cowardice, when things get bad, I mean really bad, he slips into a sort of...detached competence. A fugue-like, hyper-focused calm in which he knows exactly what to do, and will put all his energy into seeing it done.) However, as I said, none of these people are entirely defined by their damage. When he’s calm, or at least comparatively calm (which sometimes comes with the help of pot) there shines through a caring, empathetic, gentle man with a surprisingly deep wisdom and a laid-back sense of humor. Also, in addition to his voracious appetite, he’s an excellent cook, and putting his energy into cooking is one of the things that can help calm him down after his symptoms get bad, and generally be a thing in his life that helps him heal. In addition to this, during his Year Of Failed Recovery, his uncle, who had a similarly hard time recovering after World War Two, suggested that he get a dog, advice which Shaggy took, which brings us to…
Scoobert “Scooby” Doo: What you need to understand about Scooby in this version is...he’s a dog. He’s very intelligent...for a dog. He’s very helpful in dangerous situations...for a dog. He’s surprisingly good at communicating with humans...for a dog. But he doesn’t talk, and he is not supernatural in any other way. He’s a dog. Nevertheless, he serves an important role in the group, not least of which is as Shaggy’s (though he’s never officially called this, as I believe the phenomenon was not a recognized as a medical phenomenon in 1970) emotional support dog. Like most dogs, he’s good at sensing what mood his people are in, and Shaggy is his people (and so are the others, eventually), so even though the actual training that emotional support animals get today didn’t exist for him to get, he can tell when Shaggy is in a particularly upset mood, and offer comfort. In addition, having an animal to care for gave Shaggy one more means of grounding. Plus, it doesn’t matter how well-planned your criminal scheme is, or how dedicated you are to it, if a big fuckoff Great Dane comes charging at you full-tilt, you’re gonna move. Most of his usual cowardice is probably gone in this version; in fact, if he feels that his people are in danger, he will not hesitate to square up and fight.
Frederick “Fred” “Freddie” Herman Jones: His father wanted a strong son; an athlete; the golden All-American boy...and he got it, by Hell or high water. Genuine interest in his son as a person? Willingness to support unconventional hobbies? Any affection given without Fred “earning” it by living up to one of the many standards of “manliness”? Naaaaaaaahhhh. Which was a problem, because Fred showed early on that he had little natural inclination towards what his father wanted him to be. His interests lay in painting, a particular breed of fashion, and mechanical things (and not the car kind.) Well, Papa Jones didn’t want any egghead or sissy for a son, and his efforts to “correct the problem” were, by most estimations, excessive. The man had a fast and furious temper. (And Mom died when Fred was very young, far too soon to do anything to counteract Dad’s influence) So Tiny Freddie learned to lie and suppress and play his part, and he played it so well that it couldn’t help become genuinely part of who he was (and, because children are children no matter what their parents are like, the praise he got when he finally lived up to his father’s standards warmed his little heart in a way he couldn’t control, even as he hated how much he had to hide), but through it all, he kept up his true self in secret,  as much as he could, scheming and planning and hoping for the day when he could leave home and leave his father’s ideals behind. And he got into college (he got his father to accept an engineering major with only minimal cold disdain by pointing out all the possible connections to construction) and started trying to shed all of his father’s influence...only to find that he couldn’t, entirely. If you ask him point-blank, he will say that he knows his father was wrong and he’s not ashamed of his true self or his true interests, but getting out from under a lifetime of abuse is never that easy. After 18 years of being glared at and derided and shouted at and hit every time he did something “Poindextery” or “girly” or “weak”, the inner voice that does the same is something he has to face down and banish almost constantly. And as I said, some of the All-American Boy affect has just become part of who he is. His healthiest self, when he can find it, is the best of both worlds, with the gregarity and leadership skills of the Golden Boy combined with true embrace of the artist and inventor he is.
Velma Dace Dinkley: Her home life during childhood was just fine. The trouble came when those pesky peers showed up. She was short, and serious, and academic, and plain, and wore big thick glasses, and so she did not get along easily with the other children. She took things seriously, so when they teased, she took that very seriously, and lashed out, which only ostracized her more. Eventually, she buried the rage the only way she could: under layer upon layer of academia, forced apathy, and prickly snark. But underneath that, she was lonely. She didn’t feel lovable, or wanted, and she was frustrated by her inability to fix whatever it was that was wrong with her. Not that she was willing to admit any of this to herself, except in the dark and still of her bedroom at midnight. Who knows just how isolated she might have become if she hadn’t fallen in with the Gang during high school. As it is, she’s cynical, has a hard time dealing with or admitting to her own emotions, and is extremely distrustful of overt kindness or friendliness (the Gang get a pass on this because she knows them well, but if a stranger starts being noticeably nice to her, out come the quills.) She is, however, scary-smart. Smart enough to get PhDs in English and History in the time it took Fred and Daphne to get their Bachelors. And sometimes, when she’s around friends and feels safe, that clever, biting wit can be used for good, instead of to push people away “before they have a chance to hurt her”.
Daphne Anne Blake: What you have to understand is that the Blake family is rich. Wildly rich. Unimaginably rich. No, richer than you’re picturing. No, double that amount. No, on second thought, square it. The other thing you have to understand is that they have been this rich for slightly longer than America has existed as a political entity. So growing up a Blake certainly comes with privileges that most children can only dream of, but it also has its drawbacks, chief among which is that you will never, for one second, be allowed to forget that you are A Blake. And such was Daphne’s childhood. Grace, deportment, beauty, all the skills of a lady, perfection. Never a hair out of place, never a stain on that dress, never a sour note, never an uncouth word or gesture, don’t frown, dear, it wrinkles your forehead, but don’t laugh to hard, it puts lines around your mouth, and don’t you dare fall off that horse. After high school, she went on to Harvard for a B.A. in Psychology, because it’s important for even girls to be properly educated. And it’s all left her a scant hop skip and a jump away from being a nervous wreck. She needs everyone to like her all the time, she needs to look perfect, she needs to be perfect. But at least on some level, she doesn’t want to need to be perfect. She wanted to be able to relax, wanted to let her hair down, wanted to find an identity outside of being A Blake. Lucky for her, she’s the youngest of a large co-ed brood, and her parents suddenly decided that it was chic to have a child who was being slightly rebellious. So as long as she doesn’t get her name in the papers in a negative way, or overspend her allocated trust fund (which would be an impressive feat), they’re perfectly happy to titter at parties about how their youngest daughter is off roaming the country with her strange little friends. As to her quest to find herself outside of her family, it has and hasn’t succeeded. She’s mostly managed to reject generational snobbery and extend her gracious manners to one and all, but sometimes without thinking about it (or sometimes on purpose when they need it for a case) she slips into The Manner Born. And it’s been a long hard process puzzling out how much of the infinite lessons she can keep and use for good, and which she must discard. (For example, she’s certainly in no hurry to abandon her taste for the finer things in life, and if you’re going to make a life out of chasing down criminals, there are worse things than being a trained fencer.) No matter what she does, she’s always going to be a lady. She just hopes to become a true gentlewoman, rather than the paradoxical people-pleasing snob her parents were raising. Her biggest progress has come in the form of letting go of any residual feelings of superiority, and becoming less and less afraid to have and state her own thoughts and opinions, no matter who does and doesn’t agree with them. She’s working on that. Slowly.
Relationships
So, like I said, the endgame here is a full-on, everybody x everybody else poly situation. But even though they (eventually) think of themselves as a foursome, with no one pairing getting any precedence but rather the four of them being a group, it is true that within that group, there are six pairs, and each individual pair is strong enough that (if I may be morbid) if any two of them died, the remaining two would stay together. So here is a summary of each of the pairs.
Fred/Daphne: Ah, the classic pair. It’s a cliché, perhaps, but they really do have plenty to bond over. They both struggle with the weight of parental expectations, they both have a flair for personal style, and heaven knows they look good together. They spend a lot of time talking to each other and helping each other with the problems that come from their parents’ respective demands, but they also have a lot of fun enjoying together the more “preppy” things that Shaggy and Velma don’t like so much.
Shaggy/Velma: The other cliché, mostly a result of pairing the spares. However, it has its legitimate reasons to exist as well. Their senses of humor complement each other; Shaggy’s more overt clowning works well with Velma’s snark. As the two more “alternative” members of the gang, they also make sense as a couple in public. Shaggy’s earnestness, empathy and sillieness can help get past Velma’s shell, and her no-nonsense practicality can often help to calm his nerves.
Daphne/Velma: The third most popular pairing (or possibly even the second, however much I might want to kid myself about the ubiquity of my childhood OTP). On some level, Velma may be put off by (and might also envy) Daphne’s beauty and grace, but she can’t help but also be drawn to it, and be constantly delighted to find the intelligence underneath. Daphne, for her part, loves Velma for her intelligence, and is amazed by her forthrightness and assertiveness. In addition, Daphne has decided that Velma’s low estimation of her own desirability is unacceptable, and has taken it upon herself to shower her with all the attention she should have been getting all these years. She’s been put on enough pedestals of her own to know how to construct one for someone else, and has thrown herself wholeheartedly into singing “Dulcinea” under Velma’s metaphorical window. Velma’s reaction to this is...complex (which is to say, she would like to just let herself enjoy it, but can’t entirely shut off her reflexive cynicism).
Fred/Shaggy: They don’t always talk very much, but that’s okay. They enjoy the quiet. Shaggy appreciates having a leader-type around, and Fred takes comfort in Shaggy’s utterly accepting nature.
Fred/Velma: In some ways, they can get competitive, but it’s never vitriolic. It’s just that she’s never been one to hide her light under a bushel, and Fred’s reaction to how impressed he is with her is to want to impress her by trying to match up to her, and she respects him enough to not talk down to him or slow up so he can catch up, and so it spirals. She shows more and more skill at investigating and figuring out who the culprit is; he refines his plans and traps more and more. That’s why it so often seems ambiguous whether Fred or Velma is the leader; they’re sparring over the title.
Daphne/Shaggy: Well, he can’t help but be a little awed that such an obvious princess is into a guy like him. And he’s so unlike the boys shes used to that she can’t get enough of him. Their differences only make them stronger. And with her Psychology degree, she may be the one most equipped to actually help him with his symptoms. No, she’s not a therapist, but at least she knows the technical terms for what’s happening, and may have a list of possible treatments. And she revels in how few expectations he has.
@scoobydooservicedog You’re getting tagged because part of this relates to what you do (and because you seem cool and I kinda want to know what you think)

Shiverwood Facilities
(This is a WIP, will probably be updated fairly frequently!)
PREFACE
This blog is a headcanon blog- it is not run as canon, and everything said is my own personal headcanons. The goal of this blog is just to explore the Pokemon world and the lore in ways that canon does not, I don’t claim anything I say to be canon or superior to anybody else’s headcanons.
This blog ignores game mechanics, as they don’t apply to the more realistic approach I’m taking here. I’m operating more under a blend of manga and anime mechanics. Storylines in the games may be acknowledged, but game mechanics (level up system, IVs and EVs, etc) are not canon to this blog.
A note from the person who runs this blog: I am by no means a medical expert, or an expert in real life animals. This is all for fun, and is just my fun way of having a blog for a self-indulgent Pokemon OC. Do not take anything I see here as real-life medical or animal handling advice- I am not a professional in any way.
(I also want to note- I was inspired by the Professor Peach blog to start my own, so shoutout to them for giving me the idea!!)

What do we do?
Shiverwood Facilities itself is dedicated both to Pokemon research and Pokemon care. Our work is primarily based on Pokemon behaviour rather than on any specific Pokemon type, with our primary work being researching into a broad spectrum of Pokemon behaviours, and the care of Pokemon sent to us for care or rehabilitation. We also act as an in-between for Pokemon that need more intensive rehabilitation we can’t offer and we can often take in Pokemon that need to be removed from situations, but who don’t have someone to take them in quite yet.
On the research side of things, I (Professor Laurel) am in charge of most aspects of it. My research is centralized on Pokemon variants, the environmental causes, and the behavioural aspects. I’m also a behaviouralist myself, with a background in that sort of research, so I’m a bit of an encyclopedia on Pokemon behaviour and the habits of various species. I’m most familiar with Dragon, Grass, and Bug type Pokemon, but I can help with pretty much any typing.
Our site is equipped to deal with Pokemon that need care or minimal rehabilitation- anything more intensive we offer to just hold onto the Pokemon in question until someone more qualified can come and pick them up. Pokemon care here covers mental wellbeing and physical health- we have several behaviouralists onsite, including myself, who can get to the root of the problem and help a Pokemon emotionally, as well as trained medical staff who can deal with anything physical, be it injuries or something chronic. Our medical facilities are equivalent to a Pokemon Centre, and we often take in injured wild Pokemon for short stays before releasing them, but we’ll also help out trainers who pass by, or anyone who needs to bring in their Pokemon for a longer stay, free of charge. Any Pokemon left with us, whether found after being abandoned or being surrendered from bad situations, will most likely be rehomed, if not taken in by someone on staff.
We offer tours of the facility, as well as tours of the local habitat. These are both guided either by myself or another staff member with a capable team, just in case. Public areas are clearly marked with signs, same with warning signs for any areas that might be dangerous, and areas closed to the public. We also host a couple of events every season that serve to raise awareness of our work, Pokemon care, Pokemon wellbeing, etc for the public.

Who are you sending your questions to?
Professor Arthur Laurel! That’s me- you can call me Arthur if you want, I’m not big on formalities. I’ve talked about myself already, but I’m the person who will be receiving and answering all of your questions.
I have a smaller team of Pokemon from my trainer days, and all three of them are my trusted partners and some of my very best friends.
Cloudhopper - My Dragonite. She’s been with me the longest and is my partner, gifted to me as a starter as a Dratini when I was going to set out on my Gym Challenge. She’s also a certified service Pokemon, as well as a flying Ride Pokemon. Known for being very protective, usually the one to get me out of trouble, but also very sweet and loving. She does have a wicked sense of humour, though, watch out for if she feels mischievous.
Honeybite - My Appletun. He’s larger than the average Appletun, standing at over 3 feet tall, and known for being the sweetest cuddles there ever was. He’s been with me nearly as long as Cloudhopper. Honeybite’s famous for his cuddles, but don’t underestimate him for his sweet face, he’s quite the little powerhouse when he wants to be, but luckily for us he chooses peace.
Sweetbug - My Vespiquen. She was the last addition to my team, but it’s still been a good decade of having her by my side. She’s a mother hen type between myself and her Combee hive, with a fierce protective streak that has us keeping her hive closed to the public. She often offers honey as a gift to those she cares about, so you can always tell someone’s having a good day when they’ve got a little jar of honey that they didn’t get from me.
—————
Where are we and how can you find us?
Shiverwood is a bit of an exaggeration for a name- we’re located just north of Ballonlea, near the mountains surrounding Wyndon. We’re just north of being hot and humid, and just south of being freezing, so we have some cooler weather for most of the year, although summers can get quite hot. There are designated paths through the thick forest outside of Ballonlea that lead to us, so finding your way isn’t too difficult, but for those who don’t want to travel on foot we can also be reached through Corviknight Taxi and easily spotted from the sky on a flying service Pokemon. We don’t have any water access, the only body of water being a nearby lake, as well as no train access. Walking/riding or flight are the only ways to reach us.
We’re in this area on the standard Galar map.

—————
What kind of facilities do we have?
MAIN LAB - This is the largest building, it’s the main research facility and where you’ll find me if I’m not cooped up in my lab or out in the field. It also contains a smaller medical facility equipped for minor injuries for both people and Pokemon. Mostly open to the public.
LAUREL’S LAB - Within the Main Lab building. I keep it open to the public for the most part, just know that it’s a mess most of the time, because I believe in organized chaos. My team can be interacted with here if they’re in the mood for it, so if you’ve ever wanted to hug a Dragonite, now’s your chance.
POKEMON CENTER - It’s not an official Pokemon Center, but we call it one because it’s easier. It’s equipped to handle anything from massive medical emergencies to permanent and semi-permanent residents who require more care. Also equipped for human care. We often offer supervised positions to learning medical students so that they can gain experience under the watchful eyes of our doctors. Some of it is open to the public, but the rooms are restricted to trainer and friends and family only, and surgery rooms are completely off limits.
ZEN AREA - This is a combination of a building and a bigger outdoor area. This is where the behaviouralists care for Pokemon’s mental wellbeing- think of it like therapy for Pokemon. The outdoor area is open to the public, but inside the building only the entrance is accessible. This is because inside is where Pokemon who may be volatile or aggressive are cared for, to prevent them from escaping, or harming other patients. We call it the Zen Area because it can be very soothing, patient or not.
CONTAINMENT - Where we hold the Pokemon we’re temporarily holding for someone to come collect. This area is completely closed off to the public due to the usually very aggressive or unpredictable nature of the Pokemon who stay there. This area is meant for temporary stays- it’s a sizeable enough area of the woods right at the base of the mountain, and there’s a pond in there that’s surprisingly deep. This area can handle a wide variety of Pokemon, temporarily, but it can’t handle every single species. In those cases, we relocate them to another facility as quickly as possible.
GREENHOUSES - These are the warmest places in the facility, mostly inhabited by Grass Types, but also home to quite a few Bug Types. Open to the public and plants are available for purchase, with a wide range from leafy greens to berry saplings. The Pokemon here are tamed, and can be adopted. There is one that’s closed off to the public due to the Combee hive in there, but the honey can be bought!
TRAINING FIELD - Most of us are trainers, so we have a standard battlefield set up for battling! It isn’t equipped for Dynamaxing or Gigantamaxing, but that isn’t a worry since we don’t have the means to do so in this area. Trainers are welcome to use the field for practice, and to see if any staff would like to battle with them. I’m usually up for a good battle unless I’m busy (or recovering from something), and it’s great fun to spectate during your breaks!
MIRROR LAKE - Named after the Giant’s Mirror, Mirror Lake hosts numerous Water Types that prefer the colder waters. We have a Lapras who lives there and she’s very friendly, though she’s never been captured and we don’t allow the public to ride on her. She picks and chooses on the staff who she’ll allow to ride on her back and if you try to force it, she throws you into the water. We have other trained ride Pokemon for water rides, and the shallows can be nice to dip your feet in during the hotter summer, though the water never gets above chilly temperatures.
SHIVERWOOD FOREST - Likely named during the colder winter, Shiverwood is the forest we’re built on the edge of. It’s technically still the Glimwood Tangle, but we have stronger wild Pokemon around, as well as some other species you won’t find south of Ballonlea. There are trail tours, but we generally advise not wandering into the dense forest, as it’s very easy to get lost. You’ll often be able to see the wild Sylveon and Umbreon packs, as well as some Deerling and Sawsbuck herds, lots of Impidimps and a few Morgrems and Grimmsnarls, and plenty of Zubats. If you’re lucky, you might spot a Trevenant!
MOUNTAIN TRAILS - We have several mountain trails to hike on if you don’t mind the chillier weather up there. Most of the caves have danger signs posted in front of them and we often have staff posted near them, but several caves are open and free to explore! We have a Gigalith who lives deep in the caves who comes out every once in a while and is a real sight to behold, and higher up the mountain for more experienced climbers, you may get to see a very friendly Froslass. Other than that you can expect to find Geodudes, Gravellers and Golems, more Zubats, Roggenrolas and Boldores, and most common Rock Types. If you’re very lucky in the winter, and if you’re patient and brave enough to climb up to see the Froslass, you might just see an Aurorus if you wait around long enough. She’s very elusive, but breathtaking to see. Just don’t get on the wrong side of any Abomasnow or Beartics you see up there- keep to the trails and don’t go without staff.
—————
You said events?
I did! We host a couple of events every season, raising awareness for our work and for Pokemon in need to the public. The events we host are all free and are open for everyone, and we always put out plenty of notice and signs so everyone knows!
SPRING
Shiverwood Trek - Every year, early in the spring, we put on the annual hike where everyone who shows up early in the morning joins us for a hike through the forest! We do Pokemonspotting throughout, and this is usually the time where you get to interact with a lot of wild Pokemon and see the sights that Shiverwood has to offer. This is also the only event where we go off the trails- since the foliage won’t have fully come in, it’s much easier to get through, so we always explore “new” (we explore before taking random people in for safety reasons) areas. Afterwards, there’s a lunch and then we offer the usual guided tours. I usually lead this one!
Wake-Up Call - A lot of Pokemon come out of hibernation in the spring, and after sleeping for so long, they’re quite hungry! Come on down and make up baskets of food grown here in the Greenhouses, and join us in going through the forest and setting baskets around for anyone who might need it. You’ll often get to see sleepy Pokemon stumbling around, and let me tell you, you haven’t lived till you’ve seen a sleepy Greedent fall asleep eating the basket it found.
SUMMER
Summer Barbecue Bash!! - Just what it says it is! It’s a massive barbecue party we hold from early afternoon to late into the night every summer. We team up with Kabu and other Fire Type experts to bring in Fire Types to help with the cooking, as well as putting on shows of them displaying their talents and powers. It’s a lot of fun, just remember to bring sunscreen!
Scavenger Hunt - This one’s more meant for the younger ones, but we host a big scavenger hunt in the easy forest trails and the easy mountain trails for people to complete! Everybody gets a prize for finishing, but first free to finish get a bigger prize just as a bit of incentive. This usually brings out the families, a lot like the barbecue bash, and is a lot of fun to set up and help out with. Staff get to be wonderfully cryptic and unhelpful (unless it’s with the little ones- we’re a bit more helpful there) and it’s good to get out into the sun for a bit. We hold this one a couple times throughout the summer.
FALL
Fall Forage - As fall comes in, a lot of local plant life starts to wither for the colder weather. Right at the beginning, we lead people around for foraging, and anything they find they can choose to donate to us or take home for free. There’s a lot of Pokemonspotting to be had, a lot of exploring, and at the end of the day we take some of what we’ve found and we make a big community pot of soup! That’s become a tradition for the forage over the years, and it’s probably my favourite part after spending the whole day gathering plants in the chilly weather.
Sawsbuck Sendoff - Every year in the fall, the Sawsbuck and Deerling herds that live in the area migrate towards the mountains for the winter. They come through the area in big herds, and this lasts usually 2 - 3 days. This started off as something unofficial, but the popularity of it led to us advertising it as a sendoff, where we all gather and watch the Sawsbuck and Deerling herds migrate. You can also help clearing their way with us if you want, it’s a volunteer operation and we repay you with food, but you basically just help us clear the way and set up food and water stations, plus you might see some early groups come through! Can’t go up to the herds for safety reasons, but watching them is quite beautiful, and very rewarding to see your hard work pay off when they eat the food you set out for them.
WINTER
Into the Unknown - Named a bit dramatically, because we definitely know where we’re going, but winter’s event is cave exploring! This is the only time of year we open up some of the more restricted caves, and we take people deep into the caves to explore. We check them all out in advance, of course, to ensure safety, but this is the one and only opportunity a year to get into some of these caves and explore deeper into the mountain. This is another one I tend to lead, and it’s great fun, but it’s also got a lot of hands on deck and on standby just in case. A lot of prep goes into this one and honestly, it’s probably my favourite event to host! There’s hidden waterfalls, glittering caves, and this is the only way you’ll see some Pokemon like Noibats, Noiverns, and some elusive Ghost and Dark Types.
Winter Harvest - We do this one a few times throughout the winter. Winter Harvest is when we take what we’ve been growing in the Greenhouses and the public can come help us make food packages that we donate to Pokemon shelters, and to families in need. This one usually has a big turnout and it’s a great environment all around; just people helping each other and drinking hot chocolate. I participate every year, and help with the deliveries along with staff and volunteers.
Besides those, we also host regular adoption events. People can come through anytime to see if they’d like to adopt any of the Pokemon we hold here, though we do have fairs on a regular basis to promote the facility’s adoption services.
You can also find some courses here- we offer them to anybody looking to learn, no age limit (just a minimum; 16), but they can be very helpful when applying for certain lines of work. I also offer referrals and letters of recommendation as a professor, and the staff are also qualified to do the same as medical experts and behaviouralists.

FAQ
Q: What kind of questions can I ask?
A: Anything and everything! I’ll always answer to the best of my ability, be it behaviour, medical, or just you wanting my thoughts on a certain species or concept. I’ll always be sure to be clear when my answers are uncertain, theoretical, or if I just don’t know. But anything you want to ask, ask away!
Q: Can I come to you for medical advice?
A: Within the Pokemon world? Absolutely! If you’re looking for real-life medical advice from the author of this blog, who is an arts student who works part-time retail, you are not going to find anything helpful!
Q: Why is my question taking a while to get answered?
A: I (both myself and Arthur) get very busy! I check this blog whenever I can, but I don’t always answer right away because my answers require time for me to sit down and think it out. I answer every ask I receive (unless it’s really weirdly personal or if there’s clearly something really bad about it- then it’ll be deleted) and I do so as quickly as I can, but I pride myself on quality answers, so it might take me a bit!
Q: Do you hand out starter Pokemon?
A: Not in the way you think! We do adopt Pokemon out, but we’re not like, say Professor Oak. Adopting a Pokemon out here, even to a child, involves a screening process of the adopter (anyone over 18 and if younger than 18, their legal guardian(s)), and a lot of paperwork. We have to make sure everything is going to work out, after all! But we don’t just hand a new trainer a Pokemon, no.
Q: Can I leave my Pokemon there for a short while?
A: Absolutely! We don’t have a designated daycare area, but we will ensure your Pokemon gets the best care and stays in the area best suited to them. Feel free to leave them with us, but we do ask that it not be long, so try to come get them within 10 days unless you give us notice it will be a longer period. While you’re away, your Pokemon will be allowed to roam (with supervision) in any area that best suits it, and I’ll personally assure you that staff are more than happy to keep our Pokemon guests company, haha :)

How to Play as Violet Parr in DnD 5e
Tumblr media
To be fair the Invisible/Force Fields power combo is a surprisingly common trope, so you can also view this as how to plays as the Invisible Woman Susan Storm among other characters with this power set, I was just introduced to Violet first, and I’m a bigger fan of Disney and Pixar than I am of Marvel.
Tumblr media
First up for Race, we’re mostly human but genetically mutated. It’s never made clear how supers came to be, but it seems to just be a genetic mutation, so Violet is a Variant Human. Variant Humans get +1 in two stats of their choice, we’ll choose DEX and INT. Luckily for this build, we only need 2 stats to be as maxed as possible so the rest can be dumped in the trash where they belong. Variant Humans also get to pick up a free feat, and here are your best options: Defensive Duelist - While wielding a finesse weapon, when an enemy makes a melee attack, add your proficiency bonus to your AC. A high AC means stronger forcefields which means fewer attacks are going to hit you. Also, because Abjuration Wizards get Spell Resistance which not only improves spell saving throws but reduces damage taken from spells, this melee-exclusive dodging aid is a fantastic option to further capitalize on her forcefields by reducing the odds of spells working on her and on melee attacks getting past her defenses. The only drawback is that Violet does not canonically use any finesse weapons. However, if your DM is willing to handwave the finesse requirement by letting Violet use a shield for this feat, it could still be in character for her. Fade Away - Okay, this is a Gnome exclusive feat but it works very nicely for her. Immediately upon taking damage, Violet will turn invisible, allowing her to run away or recuperate herself. As Violet’s invisibility is a little harder to incorporate into her build, this is a great way to give her another route to becoming invisible during combat.
Medium Armor Master - Only if you have proficiency with medium armor, you no longer have disadvantage on stealth checks which is great for an invisible girl with a knack for stealth. Your AC increases by an extra +1 when your DEX is 16 or more.
Moderately Armored - You gain proficiency with Medium Armor and Shields if you don’t already have it, and +1 STR or DEX. Not necessary if Violet takes a few levels in Cleric, Fighter, or Paladin.
Shield Master: You can use your shield to push enemies away, add your shield’s AC bonus to DEX saving throws, and Uncanny Dodge becomes Evasion.
Violet isn’t above defying her mother and sneaking on the plane, but then later on, Violet is the one advocating for following their mother’s instructions and doing as they’re told. Thus, I’d label her as Neutral Good. She does what she thinks is right, which isn’t always following the rules, but not always breaking it either.
For background, City Watch has been my standard go-to for super heroes. However, she’s dealing with a secret identity and is technically a criminal since super heroes aren’t currently legal. Secret Identity variant Charlatans get proficiency with Deception so you can bluff to your boyfriend that you’re totally normal and Sleight of Hand so you can sneakily take evidence about criminal activity.
Tumblr media
The Class Weirdo
Let’s get this out of the way first, you are an Abjuration Wizard of at least 14 levels. By 14th Level you get temporary hit points equal to 2x your Wizard level + your INT mod when you cast an Abjuration spell. News flash, Mage Armor and Shield are both Abjuration spells. Literally any time you raise your AC, you’re getting an instant, automatic base 33 temp HP points, and 45 if you go maxed out Wizard. But more importantly, at 14th level, you not only have advantage on resisting spells, but when they do hit you, they deal resisted damage, leaving only melee attackers as a viable threat. Trust me, you want to be a 14th level Abjuration Wizard. However, there are a few other multiclass options to consider.
Cleric     Protection: Your Wisdom score won’t be very high, but then, you’d mostly use your Cleric levels to pick up non-damaging spells like Sanctuary, Shield of Faith, Warding Bond, Spirit Guardians, and Guardian of the Faith. You pretty much get handed the Protection Fighting Style, and Radiant Defense which gives you or an ally radiant armor that, when struck for the first time, deals 2d10+your cleric level radiant damage. Too bad you need to be 14 levels in Wizard, so the absolute highest this can be is 2d10+6 for anywhere from 8 - 26 damage. You also get proficiency with Medium Armor and Shields, which is important.
Fighter     Psychic Warrior: You tap into your inner reservoir of psychic energy. With augmented defenses, you can reduce any damage you or an ally takes by 1d10. You also get mage hand but big woop you already picked that up as a Wizard Cantrip.
Fighting Style Options:     Defense: Increases your AC by +1     Interception: Reduce damage meant for an ally within 5 feet by 1d10, however distance can be discussed with your DM.     Protection: Impose disadvantage on attacks meant for an ally within 5 feet.
Paladin     Redemption: You can punish those who take violent actions against those other than you in radiant damage equal to the damage they just dished out with your Channel Divinity. At 7th Level you can take damage for your allies, but by 7th level, you’re a little out of luck, since that makes 21, and is therefore not viable. Also, Paladin requires CHA to multiclass and Violet is awkward and insecure.
Rogue    Okay, so this one doesn’t offer shield proficiencies, but on the other hand, it does offer Uncanny Dodge, which becomes as good as Evasion with Shield Master. You also get Expertise so you can be unbelievably good at Stealth, Sleight of Hand, Deception, or Investigation. There’s no real recommendation here, as none of the Roguish Archetypes really seem to scream “yo, this is so Vi”, but Rogue is still a useful class to consider for her build. However, I suppose the best is Inquisitive as it lets her detect lies and makes her better at perception and investigation out of combat to find clues so she can solve crime.
Tumblr media
As an Abjuration Wizard, Intelligence is the #1 priority. It’ll provide us with more temporary hit points when we use our Arcane Ward. Dexterity determines our AC. This can be one’s knack for dodging attacks (as was the case with Itachi) or it can be the deciding factor for how hard your defenses are to bypass. Considering a multiple ton robot had to drop its entire body on Violet multiple times to break her shield, I’d argue her shield must be pretty durable, so a high AC is in order. After that, we’ll pick up Constitution. While it’s fair that Violet herself isn’t super tough, her high CON stat could be seen as an extension of her force field powers. After that, the other three can land wherever you want to put them. This is one Fighter who doesn’t care about having a high STR stat, and Violet doesn’t need WIS or CHA outside of multi-classing.

Abjuration Savant: Spend less time and money copying Abjuration spells. Arcane Recovery: Recover 8 or fewer level 5 or lower spells on a short rest. Arcane Ward: Get temp HP equaling 2x Wizard Level + INT Mod on first use, and 2x spell level on subsequent uses until you finish a long rest when you cast an abjuration spell of 1st Level or higher.  Defensive Duelist: Add your Proficiency to your AC against melee attacks. False Identity: You have a legally recognized second identity as a super. Improved Abjuration: Add your proficiency to checks for abjuration spells. Interception Fighting Style: Reduce damage on allies by 1d10+6 within 5 feet. Projected Ward: Your Arcane Ward can shield other creatures within 30 feet. Psychic Armament: Reduce damage of you and others within 30 feet by 1d10 Shield Master: Use your shield to push, add your Shield’s AC to DEX throws. Spell Resistence: Advantage on spell throws and take resisted spell damage. Telekinetic Hand: Cast invisible Mage Hand without components.
Tumblr media
Between your high AC and your Arcane Ward bolstering your Temp HP, once you start getting to higher levels, your actual HP bar will hopefully start to see dwindling instances of being reduced. Pair her with a dedicated healer, and your team should be nice and secure with her around. How do you feel I did building Violet Parr? Would you build her differently? And as always, I take requests.

a while back i did a review of the prison chapter in por and it was totally overblown and whatever but i kinda wanna do that again for (what remains of) radiant dawn so i guess i will
I'll be doing them in batches since this got long. In this post: 3-5 through 3-9
3-5: it's been two years and i forget why we have to defend this castle
this was a pretty alright map. the reinforcements were annoying but that's because I generally don't actually turtle all that much on defend chapters and as a result I was Right There whenever and wherever they showed up. I tried to grab the energy drop off the boss but the dude ran away from Heather the moment I created an opening and I didn’t want to reset so :^/
I moved provoke off of shinon and onto Brom for this and its... probably way too strong? like it wasn't a 100% draw rate but there were several turns in a row where he was the only person being attacked which is. insane. and also super fun lmao. I think it's a shame that the hostility mechanics in fe aren't as well documented; on some level it ruins the magic, but in cases like this where you're actively influencing it i think it'd be useful to know to what degree you're actually influencing it
disarm + steal is also a really neat/fun idea that would be a great way to counteract how i apparently will never have any money for weapons while playing as the greilgallia party crew 😔 (not to be confused with the greilgallia polycule, which disbanded around twenty years earlier) but I can also never get disarm to proc and half the things that i was able to get unequipped were too heavy for Heather to actually steal 😔
all around a decent map to ease myself back into playing rd with. I certainly could have played better, but defend maps tend to be easier and I appreciated that here
3-6: dawn brigade returns and promptly sinks into a swamp
god this map sucked. it's really hard to pick where to start with it but while i get that lore dictates that they need to only be fighting laguz right here it was probably the wrong gameplay decision with everything else that was going on. I think maybe making tigers have ~4 less str across the board would have been a nice start since I kinda needed to either never get hit by them at all or to kill them first.
several chapters later I’m also realizing maybe i should have like. started to use bexp lol
fighting laguz is also really weird in terms of like... because they have boosted stats while transformed so you can either kill them while they're untransformed (which is fairly easy but since they don't attack, you have to kill them during player phase which means one per turn per unit), deal chip damage (or none at all) to burn down their gauge so you can actually kill them, or try to power through their boosted stats and hope you don’t die in the process.
Because I hadn't used bexp and almost all my units were super weak, I mostly had to rely on the eff against beasts knife that you can buy in the bargain shop this chapter and also volug, who had enough def (even with halfshift) to not die in one round. Honorable mentions go to noland (a fitting name for this map), jill (with canto!), and zihark, who were able to help pick off untransformed laguz, and to micaiah, who could deal magic damage and actually damage transformed laguz.
this was also the first dawn brigade map! i know lots of people people dont like their maps after act 1 and while i was trying to go into this one with an open mind... yeah, they totally got shafted by this map design. it's not really their fault but this map sucked hard. I know that they generally did one of each class variant (fire mage, wind mage, etc.) and not have duplicates but I think that the dawn brigade would have benefited from another mage of some kind if only so you could have someone who could deal with all these goddamned cats
also bk shows up but since he's not a bonus unit i didn't want to feed him kills so i didnt really use him. maybe that was a mistake. also why couldn't he like. warp someone that wasn't the furthest away from the action.
3-7: hey so we heard you liked the previous map
Zihark is there? fuck this i'm reverting to a previous save and unrecruiting him
3-6: i forgot to mention that this map was a swamp map and also had darkness
I know I've mentioned that the similar map in fe6 (desert+fog) was actually kinda alright but this one isnt that at all. Playing through it a second time helped because i knew where enemies were spawning, but it was still more annoying than fun.
Swamps commit the cardinal sin of forcing everyone that can't fly (in this case: everyone but jill) to suffer massive terrain penalties. Deserts at least let mages move a little bit further (which admittedly wouldn't help much here since it's only micaiah and laura), but here everyone friend and foe alike (except Jill) moves slowly and it makes gameplay just grind to a halt which is never, ever fun level design.
Also Fiona just. could not move beyond the starting island. she couldn't even wade a little bit into the swamp like i did with ed and leo to attack at range and get laguz to untransform. they let you deploy everyone but it genuinely felt like i wasn't handed the tools to succeed at this map. always a great goal to have when designing a game
I don't know how to improve this map. unrecruiting zihark (by flying him up to the northeast with jill and having him talk to mordy/lethe) wasn't particularly difficult (battle saves make it easy enough to scout out where they were, and it's not like i'd ever feel bad about 'cheating' on this map) but... would a greater field of view actually help? would making it not a swamp actually help? would giving you more allied units that'll throw themselves in the face of danger with no regard for their own lives actually help?
I don't know.
3-7: but for real this time
Back to ikequest!
this map is... literally the same map as the previous one, but with a different map objective. and larger. and backwards. and not at night.
it's still a swamp.
Luckily, it's a survive map, and the vast majority of the enemy force does not have the time to actually reach you if you hide up in the corner.
Which is exactly what i did.
Here's the list of the optional units (ike and ranulf are mandatory, which sucks because i don't like using twinks cat laguz and ike's plot promotion feels miles away) I deployed and why I deployed them
Haar: to fly out and recruit Jill
Gatrie: to be carried by Haar and specifically to bait the single thunder mage in Haar's way (and help Haar clean out that area so Jill can be safely recruited). I gave him corrosion two maps ago and it actually fully disarmed a guy on this map! 🎊
Brom: stand near where the swamp ends and draw the handful of enemies that actually make it all the way there away from ike and ranulf and ulki and jaffar (who are auto-recruits in this chapter).
This map is. so incredibly easy to both beat and complete the (meaningful) optional objectives on. I missed a conversation between Ike and Micaiah (which requires you to travel all the way across the map that i just finished saying takes forever to traverse and do it in 12 turns), but as long as you unrecruit Zihark on the previous map (he's.... right in the middle of the main force so good luck if you don't) you can probably do this map first try with no deaths even if you haven't trained haargatriebrom At All
I think that kinda underscores a problem that intsys had with rd which was... it feels like they didn't really have a lot of time to fine-tune stuff? like you're going from the hardest (or at least most unpleasant) map to the easiest one this side of the tutorial and it just. doesn't feel good? like there's going to be some inherent difficulty in balancing a difficulty curve when you're shifting from party to party but. this was bad. really bad.
Also a side observation but it does actually say who units can talk to in battle prep which is pretty useful thing to have! you need to shift the stat spreadsheet allllll the way over, but it's there!
i promptly forgot about it by the time 3-10 came around and was like "hey i should just. have ike run up to elincia, see if they'll talk, and then reset" though lol
3-8: Less-than-Lethal Lava Land
A fairly standard lava cave map. My only real comment here is that it was kinda nice how they made the spots where you'd take damage fairly obvious while still making them appear as natural parts of the terrain. I think it was the durandal map in 7 but its "if you're on these at the end of the turn you'll take damage" tiles looked super out of place while the armads map on the other hand wasn't super self-evident and i'm glad they improved
3-9: still cant use lucia >:(
Another party shift (this time to Elincia), and there was some good use of ledges in this chapter!
Most of your units couldn't use them but it created alternate paths for the ones that could (Calill and Devdan). Previous maps tended to use them more as holes in your defenses than needed to be plugged, but it created ways to progress (and ways for reinforcements to catch up) that are usually reserved for flying units, except now you're interacting with the map instead of ignoring it completely.
I think I've yet to meet someone who genuinely likes ledges as a map element, though I think this map really drives home that the sole (inherent) problem with them is the accuracy modifications (which, as this map also demonstrates when the stairs near the end become a chokepoint, are actually present with all elevation changes). While the +2 damage dealt while on the high ground is reasonable, +50 and especially -50 to hitrate are insane and completely unnecessary modifiers. They should be half that if you even choose to retain both.
Anyway.
the absolute lack of a (player-controlled) healer in Elincia's party was also........ interesting. Annoying, but interesting. Why must allied clerics choose death?1

One's Rebirth (Chapter 3)
A/N: What's poppin, I'm back since I don't have requests. Anyway, if y'all enjoy this chapter be sure to like and reblog! It really helps my blog grew and would be appreciated!
The excitement filled the air as J'me woke up. His heart pumping with blood and adrenaline started to flow through his veins.
He pulled the covers off and stood up. As soon as he did, he felt soreness throughout his body from yesterday's activities. He slowly fell back onto the bed and let out a sigh.
He stood up again using the bed as support. J'me then went to the bathroom to freshen up and take a shower.
Once he finished taking a shower and freshen up, he changed into his U.A. school uniform. He grabbed his bag and started to head to the door. "Since I'm able to utilize Naruto things I need to make seals to use the Flying Thunder God." He muttered to himself on the way to the door.
The Flying Thunder God also known as Flying Raijin or FTG is a technique in which whoever is able to make special seals can teleport to them whenever they like. The seals were the hardest thing to do because you needed a formula for the teleportation to even work.
"I'll do it when I get home..." He yawned and reached the door only to be interrupted by his mother.
"Bye honey! I hope you have a good day and I love you." She gave his son a kiss on the cheek.
"Bye I love you too mother." He walked out the door and started to head in the direction of the train station.
"Wait today is the hero training isn't...I need them fucking seals!" He muttered to himself while running to the station.
He got there and hopped on the nearest train that was heading in the direction of U.A. He sat down in a seat and let out a small sigh.
He pulled out a couple pieces of paper and began to work on his formula for Flying Raijin. This formula J'me was working on would be completely different than the variant's before his. Not only would this let him teleport, it would also allow reverse teleportation and let him fly out the seals if he wanted too.
The new formula J'me was making would be called Flying Falcon. There were a couple reasons behind this of course. The first reason is that 'Flying' would normally be in front of the name at least that's what he knew. The second reason was because his last name was falcon and wanted to do something special for it and the way you could fly out of it looked like a falcon.
J'me thought about what else he needed before the train ride was over. He realized he needed a weapon to put a couple of the seals on. He didn't have enough time to make a custom weapon he used the one Minato Namikaze did in battle.
The handle was about three inches from his wrist up. The blade was the same length and had an extremely sharp tip. Two side blades stuck at the beginning of the blade. They were straight but were only an inch out and they weren't as sharp.
J'me finished copying the design as soon as the train ride was over. He packed everything as quickly as he could and ran off the train.
Instead of going the normal way he calculated the quickest way to U.A and started running. He needed to get there early and hope that someone from the support class would be there to make his stuff.
He vaulted over rails or anything small that was in his way. Climbing up and over walls as quickly as he could J'me ran as fast as he could and only hoped he had enough endurance.
He got to U.A. in ten minutes flat, luckily for him the doors were open already. There were a couple students arriving, wanting to practice a little before school started, while a few more were inside the building doing other things.
He slowly walked up the stairs one step at a time so he could catch his breath. The future teleporter made his way through the doors and to the tech support room.
He peeked his head into the doorway and saw a girl working on some gadgets. She looked familiar to J'me but he couldn't guess who it was. He slowly stepped into the doorway so his body would be fully visible to the lady. He knocked on the side of the door and started speaking. "Hello! um...I was wondering if you could give me some gadgets, a weapon, and a costume...I know this is a lot to ask you but please..."
The salmon pink haired woman turned around from her work and smiled hugely at J'me. "Of course! I don't care how much it is, I love making gadgets!" She started to walk towards the boy, excited to help him.
As soon as the girl turned around J'me recognized her as Mei Hatsume, a tech support person who was amazingly good at making items to help in battle. Her intelligence was as good if not better than J'me's.
He kneeled down, carefully placed his bag on the floor, and opened it up. It took him a couple seconds but he did find the papers that contained the formula, weapon and costume. He pulled it out and started off with showing Mei the formula. "Basically with this formula it should allow me to teleport...if you can make this and put it on something that won't break that will be amazing."
She took the paper and examined the formula. "Holy shit...this formula is amazing! Not only is it complex and difficult to figure, it can't be copied either! I can make this...how many do you need?"
"I should only need ten for the time being, now for the weapon." He showed her the paper in which was the weapon. "It's nothing really special but if you can make three of these and place a seal on each one that will be perfect."
Mei took the weapons paper and looked over it. "Okay simple enough I'll make the weapons first then the formula sound good?"
"Yeah that's excellent, the costume is also very simple so you should knock the weapon and costume out in ten to fifteen minutes max." He gave her the costume and threw his bag over his shoulders.
After he handed her the paper with the costume, she started to touch him everywhere for measurements. He stood there not really knowing what to do.
Afterwards she looked at the boy and smiled hugely. "You have such a creative mind with all these designs! How come you aren't in this class? Also I have the perfect measurements for your costume!"
"Simple really I want to be a hero so I can protect the ones I love..." He smiled at Mei before returning to his normal facial expression. "Do you think you can have all this done in..." He looked down at his watch for the time. It was 6:15AM and classes started at 8AM. "I don't know an hour and a half?"
She thought about it before giving her answer. "I should be able to, it's a matter of time the formula takes which with the steps you put on the paper it shouldn't take that long."
His eyes widened a little and he bowed, "thank you so much!" He straightened himself and gave Mei a small smile. "I really do appreciate you doing this ma'am." He knew he couldn't just say her name as if they were friends or else that would be weird.
She blushed a bit before speaking. "I-it's not a problem besides I love making gadgets! By the way the name is Mei, Mei Hatsume. What's your name if I may ask?"
"My name is J'me Falcon, it's nice to meet you Mei." He extended his right hand for a handshake and smiled at her.
"It's nice to meet you as well J'me." She shook his hand and afterwards the girl put her hands behind her back. "Well I'll have your stuff ready in an hour and a half max."
J'me put his hands inside his pocket and nodded his head. "Great, thanks again Mei." He started to head out the door before tilting his chin at her. "I'll see you later." He threw up the peace sign and left.
He entered the cafeteria and sat down, he pulled a book out and read till the bell rang. He finished his book just in time.
He stood up, put the book in his bag and walked off to his class. The boy let out a simple sigh as he walked through the door of his classroom. He put his right hand on the back of his neck and messaged it a little.
J'me walked to his seat, placed his bag down and took a seat. He looked out the window and awaited for All Might to enter.
As soon as the bell rang All Might stormed through the room, making a cloud of dust behind him. He was the number one hero of the world, he was a great hero honestly. Some people hated him and some people loved him, you couldn't deny the fact he has helped millions of people.
"Do not fear because I am here!" After he finished speaking he did his infamous superhero pose.
Everyone was surprised to see the number one hero in their classroom. They all had a shocked expression on their faces.
All the students had stayed quiet except for Midoriya. He was the first who spoke up, "All Might what are you doing here?!"
People started to agree with the boy's statement, All might did a little cough to get everyone to become quiet.
"The reason I am here today is because I will be your teacher for hero training." All Might then proceeded to explain the rules of the hero training that we would be doing. "It is mandatory to wear your costume for this!"
After the number one hero said this what looked to be shelves came out of the wall. There were everyone's costumes with their names on the shelf.
J'me knew his wasn't there so he made his way to the door. That was until All Might started to speak again.
"Once you all have your costumes on, meet me at the assigned area!" After he spoke the man ran out of the room at extreme speeds.
J'me left the classroom and headed straight to the support class to get everything he needed.
After arriving to the support class, the boy slowly walked in trying not to disturb Mei. She was currently finishing up the costume design he made to go along with his kunai and teleportation seals. He watched her finish the costume.
Mei walked over her shoulder to see J'me standing there, watching her. The girl's smile formed back on her face, in his eyes, she actually looked kind of cute with that smile. "Hey! Just in time I am done with everything."
A small smile formed on his face before he responded. "Oh really? Well glad I got here in time."
Once she was close enough to J'me, Mei kind of guided him to the table so he could look over everything.
The first thing he examined were the seals to see if she got the formula correct. "This seal was supposed to be difficult enough to where no one could steal from me. Good job, the formula is perfect now I'll be able to teleport to the seals at least."
He grabbed one of the kunai and threw it at the door. Before it got close to the door a blue flash of lightning appeared. J'me was suddenly at the other side of the room, grabbing the seal marked weapon before it hit the door.
Mei eyes widened and she jumped up and down in joy. "Yes! It worked!!"
J'me chuckled a little and walked back over to her, kunai in hand. "Yeah, I'm actually surprised it did. I feared that I might have messed up the formula but I didn't."
She stopped jumping up and down, Mei forgot to show him something she added to his Hokage costume. "Oh yeah! I want to show you something I added to your costume." Mei lifted up the piece of the clothing, it looked exactly like how he requested so J'me was confused about it.
"Um... What exactly am I supposed to be looking at exactly?" He looked at her with a very confused look on her face.
"Well since you're able to fly out the seal if you wanted, I thought you would at least like some wings to go with it. Whenever you are sent flying out, wings will come out of the suit and help you!" She smiled hugely at J'me and placed the outfit back on the table.
His body moved on its own and hugged Mei. This had been the first time in months since J'me hugged anyone. Before he instantly appeared in the world of My Hero Academia, he just kept to himself. He had friends and stuff like that, but he felt bad for even asking for such a simple thing like hugs. "Thank you Mei..." His voice was sincere, he meant it when he said 'thank you'.
Mei was surprised by the hug, not even realizing it she started blushing really hard. The girl was four inches shorter than J'me and her face would be somewhat buried in his chest.
J'me realized what he did and immediately let go. He had a light pink shade on his face after he let go. "I'm so so sorry!!!" He backed away a tiny bit to give Mei some space.
"I-It's fine," she was flustered. Mei didn't expect for some guy she just met to give her a hug all of a sudden. She brushed her hair behind her left ear with her hand. The girl smiled slightly giving J'me the reassurance that it was okay.
He smiled back and let out a sigh of relief. He walked over and picked up his Hokage outfit. He went into the bathroom and put it on, felt as if he was a hero now. The boy then picked up the kuani and paper seals, he placed the kunai's on his ninja belt. J'me placed the seals in his pouch and let out a small sigh. J'me walked back into the room and looked at Mei. "Thank you, again I can't just say how much I'm grateful."
"You're welcome! I will say it as many times as I have to J'me." Her normal smile had returned while he was away.
He gave Mei a slight bow. "My class is starting soon so I better get going. It was nice meeting you Mei!" He walked to the door and waved goodbye.
She waved goodbye, "it was nice meeting you too J'me!" Mei smiled hugely before J'me left completely.
He smiled softly and threw on his kunai down the hallway. Like that J'me disappeared in a flash, a blue lightning strike effect signaling his teleportation.
After J'me left Mei started thinking to herself. "Do I like him...? That's impossible we only just met, how can I have feelings for him..?" She questioned it further and shook her head. She needed to get her mind off of it, so Mei started to work on her gadgets. They did have a thing in common which was building gadgets. Maybe this would lead to a possible relationship in the future.
J'me arrived at the building area where the hero training would take place. He got there at the same time as everyone else.
All Might would proceed to explain the rules. After he finished giving the rules he had an announcement to make. "We have two students transferring into class 1-A their names are Ryan Talley and Kairo Furō."
J'me recognized both of the name's and was in complete shock. Ryan was his friend in the real world, he was a great friend though he beat up J'me alot. Kairo was J'me's friend as well, though that wasn't his real name. Kairo was a name that he used for role-playing, his real name was Cale. J'me thought that he changed it when he got here.
A boy of about 6ft could be seen as he slowly entered the training going. As he entered, an ominous energy entered with him. Ryan would walk up to the front with a large smile rested on his face. He had a strangely muscular build, unlike how J'me remembered him, and he was wearing contacts instead of glasses. As soon as he stood at the front of the class he'd notice someone and laugh a little. "No fucking way.. Is that you J'me?" As he asked this All Might would smack the fuck out of Ryan.
A few seconds after Ryan got bitch slapped, a shorter figure could be seen in training grounds. He'd look out over the area as he walked towards the front and wouldn't notice anything, or anyone. As he paused at the front, he'd hear what Ryan said and laugh as All Might slapped the shit out of him. "Wow Ryan, You're a fucking idiot.." He'd realize his mistake as soon as All Might raised his hand for another slap. Kairo would get bitch slapped into the same wall Ryan was at.
Everyone laughed at the idiots in front of them. All Might made a small cough to get the attention. "It will be hero's vs villains, it will also be a tournament style. Now you all know the rules, Kouda Kouji and Satou Rikidou please head to the building immediately. The two of you will be the villains, while Ashido Mina and Ryan Talley will be the hero's!"
Everyone took their places, All Might inside a different building with the kids. While Kouda & Satou got ready for the hero's. Ashido & Ryan getting ready to capture the villains as well.
Tick, tock, tick tock...time seemed like it was going extremely slow while J'me watched Ryan's fight. He couldn't help but wonder how him and Kairo had gotten into that world with him.
Minutes passed when a winner was finally declared. It was Ryan and Mina who won.
Afterwards the battles were randomized so this was another change in the timeline.
J'me's battle came up rather quickly, him, Asui and Sero made their way to the location. His enemy was Kairo, Todoroki and Tokoyami.
"5...4...3...2...1...GO!" All might screamed as loud as he could. The hero team which was J'me's team, ran inside the building. Only reason this happened was because Kairo yelled out either 'I WANNA BE THE VILLAIN TEAM AND KILL' So All Might made him the villain team.
The battle would be the best one out of them by far. Hardly any flaws in either teams plans, even Momo had a difficult time trying to find flaws. After many times of watching the battle unfold she came up with no flaws in the battle.
J'me and Kairo just smirked at each other. They were both prodigies when it came to plans.
The test ended rather quickly, J'me, Kairo and Ryan started walking back to class.
"J'me you do realize how overpowered your quirk is? It's literally the most powerful thing in here."
"Yes, I do. Look Kairo I'm sorry my quirk is better than both of your quirks. You need two quirks just to keep up to me."
"Bro, you literally couldn't think of a quirk when you came to this world. I bet you probably said 'Uh yeah lemme get a carbon copy of every anime,' headass.”
“Carbon copy? Don’t make me laugh bitch. I am not a carbon copy, if I was then I wouldn’t be able to make my own shit. Besides you are a fucking Todoroki knock off.”
“What do you mean J’me? You are deadass a carbon of EVERY ANIME except My Hero Academia.”
“I’m hearing you aren’t denying the fact that you’re a Todoroki knock off?”
“I ain’t a knock off of that emo bitch, but you aren’t creative at all.”
“No, I can make shit if I wanted.”
“Okay so? Congratulations, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday.”
“Last I checked it's not August 26 or Christmas.”
“No shit dumbass, I like to call it sarcasm. Great name don’t you think?”
“It’s okay I guess, could probably make something better for it.”
“J’me, you are making it really difficult to have a comeback war when you don’t have any.”
“You want a fucking cookie for that?”
“Absolutely, cookies are god tier.”
J’me simply nodded before throwing his kunai behind him slightly. He teleported to it and smacked Kairo upside the head. He laughed since they were both playing around.
Kairo turned around with his eyes widened at J’me. “Bitch…” He laughed a few seconds later and shook his head.
Ryan just chuckled through the entire situation. He decided to speak up, “I have the best quirk…”
J’me and Kairo just looked at Ryan as if he was an idiot
“Or maybe not…”
The three of them just chuckled and made it back to class.
Once class ended J’me said goodbye to both Kairo and Ryan. Afterwards he made his way to the support class. He wanted to catch Mei before she left for the day.
When he walked into the room, Mei was getting her stuff ready to leave.
She spotted J’me and smiled, “hey J’me! What are you doing here?”
Mei’s pink hair made J’me smile whenever he saw it because of how cute it was on her. He admired her since the beginning of My Hero Academia. He was glad to know her in this situation. “I wanted to ask you something. Could...could you possibly give me your phone number?” He asked with a slight blush on his face.
She blushed heavily when the question was asked. Mei slowly walked over to J’me, “o-of course…”
He pulled his phone out and opened it. Once he did, he handed it to Mei so she could put her phone number in.
She did exactly that, while she was entering her number Mei decided to put her contact as ‘Cutie;)’. She handed it back to J’me and smiled.
He looked at the contact name and blushed even more than he already was. “T-thanks Mei...I’ll text you later.”
Mei smirked slightly, seeing J’me blush. “Okay, I guess I’ll talk to you when you text me.” She winked and went to get the rest of her stuff ready.
“Y-yeah…” He smiled and ran out of the room. J’me was glad he was able to get Mei’s number, he was surprised about what she put the contact under.
As he ran out the room, Kirishima saw him and walked over to him. "Hey buddy, I haven't seen you this happy since we met. What happened to make you like this?"
"Oh uh…" J'me turned to look at Kirishima. He quickly put his phone in his pocket before speaking. "I um… so… you see, I got this girl's number and I think she likes me."
Kirishima's eyes widened in excitement. "Woah! Who's the lucky chick? That's amazing bro congrats!"
J'me smiled a bit, "thanks man. I'm afraid I can't tell you yet, but you'll know later on I promise."
He looked a little disappointed but he did understand. "Alright, but I better be the first one to know when you decide to tell someone!"
"For sure Kirishima I gotcha man." He waved goodbye and started walking home.
As he walked home, he spotted someone who looked similar. It was the girl who he didn't recognize when he first came to this world. "Her name was Mari Lin right? Hm...I'll have to talk to her at another time. I hope she's a good person, though something is telling me she is."
He finished his walk shortly after and did what all he had to do at home.

5e Isaac the Time-Traveling Archaeologist build (Skullgirls)
Tumblr media
(Artwork by Lab Zero games)
Skullgirls was the first fighting game I ever really properly got into. With a memorable cast of Roaring 20s-designed characters (Bae-owulf <3) and very solid fighting game mechanics the game is a blast to play for players of all skill levels. Probably the most memorable part about Skullgirls has to be its cast: despite having only 14 playable characters they all feel distinct and have unique personalities which make them memorable. (Granted the exception of Fukkua who was mostly made as a joke.)
But the non-player characters are equally memorable: Lab Zero’s orphaned scientific misfits, Ben’s old police force, the Canopy Kingdom’s democracy... and Stanley! While these characters are expanded a great deal in the mobile release they were still lovable additions to the cast. But the character who stood out the most for me was Isaac. DLC character 29, his theoretical time travel kit was truly unique and I’m really sad that we didn’t get to try Isaac as a fighter (we got Beowulf instead which I can’t complain about, but I could honestly do without Eliza thanks) and only got a mention of Isaac in one of the story modes. (No spoilers.)
Ever since the inclusion of the Archivist subclass in the Artificer UA I had a concept in my mind to recreate Isaac using that subclass. Naturally you can imagine my disappointment when Archivist was not included in Eberron: Rising from the Last War. But thankfully with the release of Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount we get the Echo Knight subclass which was exactly what I was looking for! And with a time travel theme no less? With the ability to create time clones I can finally make Isaac a reality: this was one of the builds I made this Tumblr for and I’m super excited to finally be able to publish it!
GOALS
Infinite Timelines - The core of Isaac’s kit was going to be based on summoning clones to fight for him, which we now have a class for in 5e!
Power Glove - Isaac is a smart cookie with theonite-powered inventions giving him the upper hand.
いち びょう けいか - Isaac is of course a time traveler, so we’re going to need some time traveling powers.
RACE
While never specified I’m pretty sure Isaac is a human, but that being said some variations can be taken for a time traveler... Screw Variant Human though we’re going for Eberron races because I’m a hipster like that! Originally I considered Mark of Passage humans for a one-time time traveler Misty Step but ultimately I decided on Mark of Sentinel as it fits the theme of an all-known time traveler far better. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Wisdom score increases by 1, and you Sentinel’s Intuition allowing you to add a d4 to Insight or Perception checks because of course you’ve been to the future and know the truth about people and where things are already.
You also get Guardian’s Shield letting you cast a Theonite Shield once per Long Rest, and you get the Vigilant Guardian ability which will let you swap places with a nearby ally if they’re going to get hit by a weapon attack: blocking a projectile is a good use of an assist too! You also get a language of your choice along with Common as a human and I’d suggest Giant to talk to your partner, but of course pick whatever you please.
ABILITY SCORES
15; INTELLIGENCE - You need to be a smart cookie to time travel, and we’re going to be using Intelligence for a lot of our features.
14; DEXTERITY - This is primarily because I like even ability scores and we need this to multiclass.
13; WISDOM - Seeing as our Wisdom is increased by our racial traits we may as well get it at a 14, and professor badass would know basic medical procedures as well as the history of the Canopy Kingdom.
12; CONSTITUTION - Extra bulk is always nice when some washed-up wrestler is hitting you with a folding chair, and we also need Constitution for our skills as well.
10; CHARISMA - Isaac has a degree of rough charm: he wears the vest well but that hair isn’t doing him any favors.
8; STRENGTH - We simply don’t need this for the build and your partner handled most of the brute forcing.
BACKGROUND
Isaac is stated in-lore to be an Archaeologist and luckily there’s a background for it in Tomb of Annihilation! You get History proficiency and I’d personally swap the Survival proficiency with Arcana since we can’t get it as easily otherwise. You can also choose between either Cartographer’s Tools or Navigator’s Tools: I opted for the former but honestly either of them work. You also choose one exotic language of your choice and again: pick whatever you think is useful.
Your feature Historical Knowledge lets you use some of your Indiana Jones skills to determine the original purpose of any ruin you enter, who built it, and if any artifacts you find are valuable. Fortune and glory kid.

THE BUILD
LEVEL 1 - FIGHTER 1
Starting off as a Fighter primarily for their saving throws. You get two skills from the Fighter list: I’d recommend Athletics to compensate for your low Strength score but you can honestly choose whatever for your second skill. (I chose Perception personally.)
Fighters get a Fighting Style of their choice and while Unarmed Fighting from the Class Feature Variants UA would make sense for a fighting game character we’ll be getting some time-travel boxing gloves shortly so I’d opt for Defense instead for an increase to AC. (Dueling is also a good choice if you want more offense instead of defense.) You also get Second Wind, letting you sit in the back and regenerate red health equal to 1d10 + your fighter level once per short rest.
I will quickly mention that as a Fighter you get a choice between either Leather Armor or Chain Mail in your starting equipment and I’d recommend taking the Chain Mail. Yes you can’t wear it because of your Strength score so see if you can also grab some Medium armor before you head out but that chainmail is going to serve us well shortly.
LEVEL 2 - ARTIFICER 1
The real starting class of this build is Artificer, and we only really took level 1 in Fighter for proficiency in Strength saves. Regardless Artificers get Magical Tinkering which lets them do some theonite tinkering on non-magical objects: I recommend reading the feature yourself to see what it can do, because you can do it a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier.
Artificers also get access to Spellcasting. You get two cantrips of your choice: Fire Bolt is a simple Quarter-Circle-Forward Punch to shoot a projectile at your enemies, doing 1d10 fire damage and lighting flammable objects on fire. Guidance will let you give a mentorly pat-on-the-back to your Gigan partner, letting them add a d4 to an ability check.
For your leveled spells Artificers are prepared spellcasters, meaning they can swap their spells out on a long rest. Regardless the spells I’d prepare would be Cure Wounds to regenerate some red health and Detect Magic to locate any  theonite reserves in the ruins you’re exploring.
LEVEL 3 - ARTIFICER 2
Second level Artificers can Infuse Items: you know 4 total Infusions and can have two active at a time.
A Bag of Holding will help you carry that chainmail I told you to grab.
Enhanced Defenses will let you block a little more damage when block.
A Rope of Climbing will help you while spelunking, and speaking of spelunking a Wand of Secrets will help you find any hidden rooms or trap doors in the ruins you’re exploring.
But remember that the key to Artificer is picking infusions that your party will find useful! Pick a good assist, or else you’d be better working solo. You can also prepare another spell and Identify will let you further identify anything you find in a ruin... duh.
LEVEL 4 - ARTIFICER 3
3rd level Artificers have The Right Tool for the Job, letting them make a set of artisan’s tools over the course of an hour. But more importantly you get Artificer Speciality and the Armorer Unearthed Arcana subclass is perfect for an inventor with a heavy time gauntlet.
Armorers get Power Armor, or as I call them power fists. You can wear Heavy Armor regardless of its Strength requirement (which is good because your Strength is poo poo garbage) as it merges with your body and can’t be removed against your will.
You can choose between two different models of Power Armor and the Guardian armor will give you a dragon punch! Your fists count as Thunder Gauntlets and do a d8 thunder damage on hit, and causes enemies you hit to have disadvantage on attacks against targets other than you until the start of your next turn. You can also create a Defensive Field as a Bonus Action to get a number of temporary hitpoints equal to your level in Artificer: remember that blocking is as good as attacking!
IF UA ISN’T ALLOWED: This build honestly works fine with Battle Smith instead of Armorer since all we really need is the ability to use Intelligence to attack. We have enough Dexterity for you to wear Medium armor instead of using the Battle Smith’s Heavy Armor. The only reason for the Armorer multiclass is that I wanted punching gauntlets instead of a robot dog.
If you’re going to play Battle Smith instead take a bludgeoning weapon (IE a flail, warhammer, or maul) and flavor them as your punchy gauntlet. A maul does more damage but can’t be used with a shield, so it’s a great option if you want harder hits but less defense.
You can also cast your Artificer spells through the Power Armor, which is neat since Armorers get the Magic Missile and Shield spells innately.
LEVEL 5 - ARTIFICER 4
Taking level 4 in Artificer for an Ability Score Improvement, or rather the Linquist Feat to be able to gather information no matter what part of the world you’re in. Along with a plus one to your Intelligence score you learn three languages of your choice (pick whatever you think will be useful) and can write ciphers. A creature can only decode your messages if you teach them the code or if they succeed an Intelligence check equal to your Intelligence plus your proficiency bonus, so Scythana won’t be reading your research papers.
With the increase to Intelligence and the level up you can prepare two more Artificer spells: Feather Fall is useful to stop you from having a ground-bounce so your opponent can extend their combo, and Farie Fire can open up an enemy for a high hit if they’re blocking low.
LEVEL 6 - ARTIFICER 5
Ah screw it may as well take another level in Armorer to get your Extra Attack already. You can punch twice now in a combo: woo hoo!
You can also cast second level Artificer spells now: Armorers can innately cast Mirror Image and Shatter, and you can prepare second level spells from the Artificer list which I’ll discuss later.
LEVEL 7 - FIGHTER 2
Bouncing back to Fighter now; level 2 Fighters get Action Surge, letting them take one additional action in combat once per short rest. Extend that combo with some time stop! WRYYYYYYYYYYY!
LEVEL 8 - FIGHTER 3
Third level Fighters get to choose their Martial Archetype and woo boys there it is: Echo Knight! Echo Knights can Manifest Echoes of themselves from the future as a bonus action. You can put a single echo down 15 feet away from you which lasts until its destroyed, you dismiss it, you make another echo, or you’re incapacitated and unable to send yourself into the past.
The echo has an AC of 14 plus your proficiency bonus, 1 hit point (don’t worry you won’t feel it if your future self gets hit... which presents some weird paradox problems), and immunity to all conditions. If it has to make a saving throw it uses your saving throw bonus for the roll. It’s the same size as you and occupies a space. On your turn you can make the echo to move up to 30 feet in any direction without using an action but if your echo is more than 30 feet from you at the end of your turn it is destroyed.
You have several things you can do with your echo:
You can swap places with your echo with 15 feet of your movement, regardless of the distance between the two of you. Clearly it’s just you time traveling to where your future self is.
Any attack you make with that action can originate from the echo’s space if you choose to do so.
When a creature that you can see within 5 feet of your echo moves away from it, you can use your reaction to make an opportunity attack against that creature as if you were in the echo’s space.
You can use Unleash Incarnation to make one additional attack from your Echo’s location when you take the attack action, adding up to 3 attacks total. You can use Unleash Incarnation a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier.
LEVEL 9 - FIGHTER 4
Talk about a lot from one level huhn? Well all you’re getting from this level is +2 to your Intelligence with an Ability Score Improvement.
Tumblr media

LEVEL 10 - ARTIFICER 6
May as well grab level 6 in Artificer now for more Infusions! A Radiant Weapon attachment on your gauntlets will let you use them as a flashlight which can blind enemies that hit you! A Repulsion Shield meanwhile will let you push block an enemy that attacks you. Both these items take your reaction yes, and you have Shield for Reactions as well. But remember that these are just suggestions and you’re more than welcome to build other Infusions that will help your party.
You can also prepare a lot more spells now: two total with your levels and your Intelligence, but I will be suggesting 3 since we’ll get one more spell from an Intelligence increase later on and you’re a prepared spellcaster anyways so you can swap out your spells whenever.
Enhance Ability will let you provide an assist outside of combat, aiding your allies with checks and providing them other boosts.
Heat Metal will let you put a DoT on your opponent while you fight: more of Valentine’s thing but it helps!
Magic Weapon will let you punch a little harder, turning your Radiant Fists from a +1 weapon to a +2!
I again need to reiterate that Artificers are prepared spellcasters, so remember to swap out your spells when you need them!
LEVEL 11 - WIZARD 1
Speaking of prepared spellcasters oh god it’s Wizard. Welcome to the first use of Wizard on this blog and don’t worry: we have a lot more Wizards coming after Wildemount, which scares me because I don’t play Wizards. Anyways Wizards get some more spellcasting: Mending will let you repair any chains your partner might break, and Message will let you chat with her privately. Finally Mage Hand will let your future self reach out and grab something for you in the moment. Did I just pick the three cantrips that were right beside each-other on the massive list of Wizard cantrips? Yes, but that doesn’t mean these spells aren’t good.
Sapping Sting is also worth a mention as a Dunamancy-specific cantrip that causes your opponent to trip! Remember: gay tripping is gay.
Speaking of spells you learn two Wizard spells whenever you level up, and can add more spells to your spellbook if you find them on a spell scroll. Regardless Wizards have a big list of spells they can learn so uhhhhh...
Fog Cloud is ideal for a getaway, letting Scythana kick up a cloud of dust to heavily obscure the area.
Tenser’s Floating Disk is perfect for any spelunker, as it lets you create a three foot diameter theonite disk to carry up to 500 pounds of artifacts you discover.
You also get Arcane Recovery, letting you recover a level 1 spell slot on a short rest. More uses of Shield; neato!
LEVEL 12 - WIZARD 2
Ultimately the reason for the Wizard multiclass was to get some more time manipulation powers from the Chronurgy Magic subclass from Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount. That’s right we’re using two Wildemount subclasses; rejoice Critters! Chronurgists have Temporal Awareness, letting them add their Intelligence modifier to their Initiative rolls which is nice because your Dexterity is only a +2, and this will bump Initiative to a +6.
You also get Chronal Shift: when you or a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can use your reaction to force the creature to reroll after you see whether the roll succeeds or fails. You can use this reaction twice per long rest, so don’t meddle with the timeline unless its absolutely neccessary!
You also learn two more 1st level Wizard spells at this level:
You should be able to afford a 50 gp diamond by this point, right? Well Chromatic Orb will let you shoot a more powerful fireball at an enemy for 3d8 damage... or an ice ball. Or an acid ball!
Gift of Alacrity is a Chronurgy-specific spell so you may as well take it, as you can speed up time for an ally and give them a d8 to their initiative. Just remember that the spell does take some time to cast!
Oh god Wizards are overwhelming. Remember: you can get more spells if you find them in scrolls, which is good because right now you can prepare more spells than you have. Also if you have the chance see if you can find a Spellshard instead of a spellbook, just to keep the Theonite shard themeing.
LEVEL 13 - FIGHTER 5
Good god Wizard never again. It’s just straight through Fighter now, though it’s not like Echo Knight is an easy class either. 5th level Fighters get an Extra Attack... that you already have.
LEVEL 14 - FIGHTER 6
6th level Fighters get an Ability Score Improvement: max out your Intelligence for maximum damage with your gauntlets and your spellcasting.
LEVEL 15 - FIGHTER 7
7th level Echo Knights get Echo Avatar. As an action you can see and hear through your echo instead of your own senses. During this time you are deafened and blinded and you can see through your echo for up to 10 minutes. You can end it at any time without using an action and you can be up to 1000 feet away from your echo while using this action. Clearly you were just there the whole time, and are telling your allies what you saw.
It should be mentioned that technically you can teleport up to 1000 feet while using this ability, making it great for infiltration. Just saying!
LEVEL 16 - FIGHTER 8
8th level Fighters get another Ability Score Improvement and we’re going to improve our Constitution so that we can get back up when a detective with tuba lungs does a JoJo impression on us.
LEVEL 17 - FIGHTER 9
Level 9 Fighters get Indomitable, letting them reroll a saving throw once per long rest. Reminder that you have two rerolls that you can use on anything with Chronal Shift, and now you have one saving throw you can reroll for yourself. Turn back the clock if you get hit because life isn’t worth wasting seconds.
LEVEL 18 - FIGHTER 10
Level 10 Echo Knights get Shadow Martyr. As a reaction you can cause your echo to teleport in front of an ally you see being attacked and make them take the blow instead. Your echo appears within 5 feet of the ally and the attack is directed towards them, and you can use this reaction once per short rest. Remember to spend the next turn going back in time to save your friend: and don’t get hit when you do!
LEVEL 19 - FIGHTER 11
Level 11 Fighters get an Extra Attack that actually goes above and beyond regular Extra Attacks, so now you have three attacks total! Rejoice!
LEVEL 20 - FIGHTER 12
The final level is the 12th level of Fighter for your last Ability Score Improvement and you’re going to want to increase Constitution again for a 20 health boost at the end of the build.

FINAL BUILD
PROS
Hang on to your hat - A good Constitution modifier and most of your levels in Fighter means a health bar that’s very close to 200, and you have a positive saving throw score in everything except for Charisma with the ability to reroll up to three failed saves.
I'm all there is of the most real - Have I ever mentioned that Artificer is dumb when it comes to AC? 21 AC with just chainmail and a shield being both improved, and up to 23 AC if you get your hands on Full Plate. Even if your DM doesn’t let you wear Heavy armor because “Armorer is OP” a Breastplate will still give you 21 AC if you also use a shield. (18 without a shield.)
Bad puppies! (Good puppies) - You are great no matter where the enemy is with three Thunder Gauntlet attacks in melee range, several spells to use at range, and your echoes to let you teleport around and effectively be in two places at once.
CONS
Smart Cookie - Even though you’re a professor you’re not the most talented. You know hella-lot about History and Arcana but your Perception is about average and your Athletics leaves something to be desired.
Push Block - You’ve got a few too many options in combat with four different Bonus Actions (one of which is one-time use and one of which is only used at the start of the fight to be fair) and Reactions for Shadow Martyr, Chronal Shift,  Vigilant Guardian, Opportunity Attacks from you or your Echo, and reactionary spells like Shield and Feather Fall. The problem with infinite timelines is that there’s infinite options to choose from.
Seconds count - A lot of your abilities have a limited number of uses, and while some of them (Second Wind, Shadow Martyr, Action Surge) come back on a short rest a lot more of them (Spell Slots, Chronal Shift, Vigilant Guardian, Arcane Recovery, Indomitable, Unleash Incarnation) only come back after a long rest.
But infinite foresight means you won’t be caught without a plan, even if you don’t have the Foresight spell. Throw a punch or ten at a zombie cat-girl and then tap out and rest up. And do get your partner out of jail: someone needs to carry your equipment.
