I came across this old piece of mine that originally I did in marker and decided to update it with a digital remaster. I wanted to try and keep a balance between the original style and the sort of modern animation/comic book style that I have been trying to refine. So, how about a 2020s remake of Scooby Doo Where Are You?

I’ve been in the school of thought that if they were to do a proper animated remake of the series, that the tone of the show would hinge a little more darkly than most, kind of what the 2010 mystery incorporated show was trying to do. Though, if we can avoid a “Riverdale-y” approach, that’d probably be best.

Everybody rags on Shaggy and Velma being a lousy couple and like "Yeah! Duh! They were written terrible in like ONE series!" In my opinion, it's still my favorite ship. You want to see some good shelma? Watch the OG Scooby Doo Where Are You 1969 series. Peak couple material right there! They are literally supposed to be a couple according to Ken Spears and Joe Ruby's series bible.

"Scooby Doo and the Book of the Dead" epilogue!

At last, the epilogue is here, and the second installment of "Terror Time" is complete! Watch this space for info on when I'll start publishing Part 3, but fair warning that it probably won't be till the winter. In the meantime, please enjoy the epilogue!

you like shaphne i like you <3 but what do you think about fraphne? i know it is the most popular ship on scooby and some say its basic but i think they are lovely always, and what do you think about shelma? thank you for taking my ask

I like both of those too! Absolutely 0 problem with them (otherwise watching the saga would be annoying don't you think?)

I think the most important thing is loving the characters first, independently of who the story puts them with. I'm watching Mystery Inc for the first time and their version of Fraphne is adorable, plus, it's impossible to dislike Freddie Prinze and Sarah Michelle Gellar's live action version.

There are some good versions of Shelma too. Not in Mystery Inc (what even was that) but Scooby Doo Apocalypse has them as the main couple and it was very fun, or the episode of Be Cool dedicated to truly develop their bond (Shaggy finding out he likes to study, Velma letting herself just eat a damn pretzel and stop worrying).

Independently from ships, what makes Scooby Doo what it is is the friendship of the gang. In fact the books trilogy I never shut up about (Vanishing Girl, Dark Deception and Buried Secrets) is based on Velma and Daphne's complicated friendship after years of not talking to each other thanks to a fight. Friendship is rarely the focus of media so that was great.

In short, I like Fraphne and Shelma too because I'm amazing and I want to enjoy everything

I'm genuinely curious to see who you guys will choose and why; will you pick someone solely based on nostalgia? Will your choice be based on their chemistry with Shaggy/how they bring out a new side of him? Do you just ship them together for no discernable reason? Or do you not care in the slightest about Shaggy's love life whatsoever?

Well, hey there gang! Long time no see! It’s been a little while since I’ve made any Scooby Doo fan art (blame my two college degrees), but after going through the tags and some of my old art, I realized there was a piece that I never finished working on, and since I recently got a tablet and have been practicing my digital art skills. I thought I might finally finish it.  So here is my rendition of a 2020s Scooby gang, based on an AU I made a few years ago.

I wanted to try and keep a balance between the original style and the sort of modern animation/comic book style that I have been trying to refine. Perhaps I will make more Scooby art now that the spark has been relit? Anyways, sorry for the long hiatus and I hope you like what I’ve made!
