Hi! As an aspec usamerican, it's definitely a scary time to be in the US right now—I dont want to minimize that, definitely take whatever precautions you need to be safe. But even with all the scaremongering and anti-immigrant rhetoric happening, there are people here who will welcome you. There are people actively working to protect immigrants. There are people who will ask where you're from because they're curious and friendly, and not because they're trying to figure out if you belong. There are plenty of reasons to be scared right now, but there are also plenty of people who want better for this country. I hope you stay safe and that the moving process goes as smoothly as possible 💕

As "hard mode" as I'm getting into, I'll be blunt, I'm white af and French, on top of things, so aside from being queer, I don't think I'll be as victimized as other immigrants may be – just the whole typical immigration crap that everyone has to go through, but aside from being queer and planning a queer marriage, I don't think I have grounds for people to make it extra difficult for me. Of course I'm cautious because I'm hyperaware of the risks. But still. Overall, pragmactically speaking, I'll feel safer if I can have both the possibility of visiting my loved ones in Europe, AND the security of actually being able to be with my partner. (Also, tbh, the influence of the US over my country is such that if things aren't looking good in the US, I have no doubts that it'd trickle down to my country as well, as sad as it is.)

For what it's worth, I'd also be moving to a blue state, and my partner says that that's at least a bit safer just for that, so that's also a bit of a relief.

Regarding people asking where I'm from, yeah, I don't doubt it'd come from curiosity more than anything else. But that still doesn't sit well with me. If EVERYONE is asked where they're from on a regular basis and that's just the norm, then sure, that'd be alright. If I alone get asked where I'm from because "Ooooooo foreigner interesting" and I get labeled as "other" and become more of a toy or an object of projection to people who were born and raised in the US, rather than an actual person that lives in the US as well, it still wouldn't feel great. Doesn't matter if they think they're being nice, it's still a bit dehumanizing if that's the reasoning. So yeah, I definitely dread that. I'll just have to see I guess.

Undercover Lapdance - Chapter 1

Fandom: NCIS

Pairing: Gibbs x reader

Frustrated, Gibbs stood in Director Shepard's office and reported:

"Jen, we're at a dead end with the case. The only thing we know for 100 percent is that the owner of the nightclub is innocent."

Gibbs groaned annoyed and frustrated, and paced up and down in front of Jenny's desk. That wasn't his thing at all. He had used every trick he could think of, but nothing led to solving the case.

A Navy lieutenant had been shot in the backstage area of ​​a nightclub and was found the next day by the cleaning lady, but no one in the club claims to have seen anything or to know the lieutenant.

According to Ducky's initial examination, the body had not been moved. That meant that the place where it was found was also the crime scene.

And this is where things got complicated.

No one claims to have heard the shot. This was quite possible with the guests of the club, as the music was usually quite loud in nightclubs and the staff area was heavily soundproofed.

In addition, the table dancing that this bar was known for drew all the attention of the guests.

The backstage area was off-limits to guests, but with a little planning it would have been quite possible to go in and return to the guest area unnoticed.

To make matters worse, there were private rooms where individual guests were offered a lap dance for a fee.

In one of these rooms the victim was sitting on the chair with three holes in the back.

It was obviously a devious murder and the circle of suspects was quite large. It could have been any of the people present that evening.

But Gibbs' instinct told him that it must have been one of the employees.

The security staff had waterproof alibis. The owner of the establishment, Mr. Albert, too. Confirmed by his entire family, he was suffering from diarrhea, since the early hours of the evening of the crime and was not even near the club. This meant that the two bartenders and the dancers were the only remaining suspects.

In the case of the bartenders, there was a security camera that proved that they were standing behind their bar and serving the guests during the crime.

So the only suspects left were the dancers, and they were far too intimidated to say anything.

It was infuriating, but they were still left with a body and no clues.

While Gibbs listed the facts so far, he marched up and down in front of Director Shepard's desk the whole time, as he always did when he was annoyed and frustrated and the investigation of a case was at a dead end.

“He drove me crazy with that before,” she thought in frustration and tried not to let it influence her, but she only succeeded mediocrely. 

“We have to get the dancers to talk somehow,” the investigator thought out loud.

Then Jenny suddenly had an idea…

“Yes, that would be really good!” she thought. Excited about her idea, she began to smile and then said:

“We'll send someone undercover to gain their trust and find out what they know.”

Jethro stopped abruptly. He looked at her thoughtfully, but also as if he was about to have her committed to a psychiatric hospital.

“You want to send a colleague undercover as an erotic dancer? Are you serious?” he replied, making it clear through his tone that he thought her suggestion was completely absurd.

But Shepard stuck to her opinion: “The dancers can go anywhere. And so an agent could go anywhere too - including the dressing rooms.”

Jethro had to admit that this argument was not to be dismissed.

“And who would be able to take on the job?” he asked doubtfully.

Jenny grinned broadly: “Oh, I know someone. A friend of mine who works in the research department could do it.”

“Who?”

“Y/N.”

Gibbs' eyes widened in astonishment: “Y/N? Really, Jenny? Sweet little Y/N? You would throw her to the wolves!” He couldn't believe it.

This was exactly the reaction the director had expected from him, because everyone who was confronted with Jessie's natural talent for the first time showed it.

With a knowing and mischievous grin she simply replied: “Yes, sweet, always happy, innocent Y/N... believe me, she is not as harmless as she seems.”

He just shook his head in disbelief: “Good. If you think she can do it…”

He snorted and shrugged his shoulders “we don’t have any other choice anyway.”

Jen was thrilled, she had won.

“Okay, you clarify it with the owner of the club and I’ll call Y/N. We’ll meet in the gym in half an hour with Y/N, Mr. Albert and Tony.”

Just imagine:

You're dating a guy and 6 months in, everything's going well. He's really sweet, he takes you out to dinner, buys you your favorite books and new ones you've been meaning to get to, even being able to practically read your mind the way he just knows when you're hungry or thirsty. He just seems to be such good boyfriend material.

A while after, he sees you've not been putting as much effort into looking like a guy, even going so far as to wear feminine clothes and not correcting people when they call you by she/her pronouns. You've noticed the little glint in his eyes and the mild looks of irritation, but you've never thought to bring them up.

You don't question when he tells you you've got a doctor's appointment and that he'll take you. You don't question when the doctor supplies you your first dose of testosterone, nor do you realize that's what's in the "vaccine" your boyfriend swears it is. You don't question when he needs to run by the pharmacy and comes back to the car with a bag of supplies. You're none the wiser when he gives you your following doses in your sleep, waiting until you're unconscious to inject the needle into your fat.

When your attitude doesn't change in the first few weeks, still attempting to keep a hold on your femininity despite the growth happening between your legs, he decides to take some extra measures. Now, while you're asleep, he's slipping headphones on your head, allowing subliminals to fill your mind. This seems to help, so he continues to do so, even going so far as to put you into trance while you're awake and make you forget what he would do just as you come to. He starts off easy, just reaffirming the triggers he's set and putting it in your brain that you are indeed a man, but he increases the intensity more and more every day, setting in desires to be used like a man, to be seen as a man. Unbeknownst to you, when these little thoughts creep up in your mind throughout the day, you have no clue that they're because of what he's doing.

It eventually gets to a point where he's done some convincing without influence to let him try out anal with you. Even with his less than ethical methods before, he knew it needed no convincing on your part this time, and he takes care of you so nicely, having all the supplies to properly prep you for it all. Just like everything else, you have no clue this wouldn't be the first time, not that you're aware of at least.

He slips inside you with barely any effort after some prepping, surprising even you as he starts off slow. You can't help but feel like this isn't the first time you've done this, that you two MUST have done something before. Even in your moan-filled bliss, you can't help but beg the question. His rhythm stutters for a moment, almost pausing before pretending like you didn't just ask what you asked. You insist, even stating through moans that you're pretty sure he's done something.

He grabs your throat suddenly, pounding into you ruthlessly. "Of course I did. But I'm surprised you even remember." As your eyes widen, about to argue, you barely get even a word out before he's pressing more on your arteries and making your head spin from the lack of blood flow. He growls into your ear:

"I don't want to hear a word out of that mouth about it. You may be pissed, but I had to do it. You need to start acting like a man. You lost the right to your own body when you decided that you were gonna pretend to be some fucking girl and ignore the reality in front of you."

Despite the still lingering anger and shock at the revelation, the way he fucks up into you is way too much, causing that still foggy brain of yours to give in despite it all, to just let him use you like the little fag you are. He whispers one little word into your ear, and although it doesn't send you into trance, it makes what he says next all the more enticing and convincing.

"Doesn't this feel good? To be used like the stupid whore you are? To be guided like this? To be shown your place?"

Today I want to share the joy that Reading A Newspaper has brought me recently (yesterday).

Because you see, it's not very often that I can read a several pages long good quality feature on a band that I'm something of a fan of, considering that until last year at best, all and any musical favourites I had were next to unheard of in the, let's call it, professional music business. And said feature also gave a few mentions to the one and only fav band of all time which I'm also still not used to being able to read about in my language (because it only happened like 5 times in total so far anyway, but still). And I can buy the newspaper in my local store in this minuscule town and find Sparks inside, like wow, it really is My Sparks, in this real life physical newspaper that I just got. This was like a belated but very epic christmas gift for me and I'm not kidding.

But well yeah getting to the point now, Franz Ferdinand are starting their tour soon promoting their upcoming new album and they're stopping in Poland too, so there was this whole 14-pages long overview of their whole career, and while I was obviously interested in the whole thing I was most hyped about the fact that there would have to be something about FFS and Sparks there and this brings me to my delighful observation that wow, all of this is so, connected in a way. Like how there are these connections in inspiration and collaborations between many of my favourites that I didn't even think about probably being a thing before, but when I think about it it just makes so much sense. Like how in this interview with Alex Kapranos, the interviewer brings up Talking Heads and specifically Fear of Music, because the new Franz Ferdinand album also has this sort of overarching theme of fear. And it's funny because that's the first Talking Heads album I've ever listened to and still my favourite from them to this day and overall one of my all-time favourite albums. And I guess it shouldn't be that shocking that it'd come up here because Talking Heads were super influential and inspired thousands, but also until now I didn't think about how both these bands share the general direction of creating dance-able type of rock with lyrics that are often on the more reflective and "intellectual" side. And also that album has been recommended to me as the most TMBG-like of theirs so. Wow I wonder why I like it.

Ok there were also all these other things that I want to mention too, so, other miscellaneous points of interest:

In the debut album review, the reviewer said that during Tell Her Tonight Alex sings a lot like Russell Mael, who likes to sing in falsetto. And well I know there's also the Sparks connection in the form of FFS to come later but still, this was such a great SPARKS MENTION!!!! moment for me anyway. But also they got one thing wrong, because it's not that Russell likes singing in falsetto, Ron forced him to sing in falsetto by writing all of his songs in this crazy uper range of notes, and that's a very important detail !!!!!!

And ok I had no idea that Piss Off already existed in some form as far back as 2004!! Or I knew about this and then I forgor. Either way, fascinating piece of information

I need to know more about how these star-based ranking systems work because why would you call FFS an "excellent album" and then rate it 4 stars. Instead of, I don't know, 4 and a half or 5 maybe?? Especially since it apparently has only 2 "weak songs". And I have some major objections when it comes to this too, because we're calling Things I Won't Get a weak track now?? It's just underrated as heck, and that's a hill that I will die on

Also I could never be a music reviewer because these people can fit their whole commentary on one song within one sentence and I feel like I would have to write at least 3 paragraphs on even the least exceptional of songs on a given album before I can feel like I did it justice. I mean, this whole post itself shows how much of a problem this is for me, lol

Also guys were we all aware that FFS turns 10 next yeah. Oh god. Well I need to remember to keep my tradition and preapre a cool piece of fanart for that occasion then. Maybe they should give us FFS 2 to celebrate, I'm pretty sure there'd be lots of interest among the fandom in something like that. Anyway

Well also this wasn't the only article in this whole thing of course and CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, there was a little bit on the Harrison & Belew Remain In Light Tour, which I will also be attending!!! Lots of great stuff is cooking for the first half of 2025 for me musically I can't lie

And also CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, that a year and a half since it was supposed to be released "worldwide" and long after I already lost hope that I'd ever see it in a cinema, they're releasing Stop Making Sense in cinemas over here too. Fucking finally!!! By gods and heavens, that rare moment when you learn about something crucial through a goddamn instagram ad of all places. And then they also reminded me about this in an actual article so well wow. Can you believe this. I can't. So stocked for next saturday when i'm seeing this movie the way it was always supposed to be seen hehehe

Just finished rereading ITNL chapter 2 again

Yknow, it's long felt like a weaker chapter to me, especially compared to chapter 1. It's a Necessary chapter, but it's basically an entire chapter of introspection. Add in the fact that I wrote it in a single day and was half falling asleep by the end of editing it, but pressing onwards anyways bc I wanted So Badly to get it out that night...

The Legato part was the weakest for that. I remember staring at it and breaking my brain just trying to make it sound better before just giving up and posting. But when I worked on my full-fic re-edits about.. a year ago now? A year and a bit. I think it was October ish of 2023. But I focused on that part again, trying to get it up to my standards to be satisfied with it.

Coming back to it after some number of months, my brain relatively fresh, I think I actually did a pretty decent job. Despite being an introspective chapter, it really drives home how Wrecked vash is about it all. I like to say that chapter 1 is like a thesis to the fic, where you get vash's goals laid out pretty clearly (him picturing the things he wants to fix + him picturing his dream of having all the people he loves around a table with him, including Knives. It serves as motivation for him jumping back in time in the first place and it remains his driving force throughout the fic). In contrast, chapter 2 is... almost a secondary thesis. We see his doubt, his fears, his panic. We see the things that he's going to be struggling with throughout the whole fic. His wish to handle it all on his own, as well as how overwhelming it all is to him. Chapter 2 is the necessary second side to chapter 1's thesis, showing the weakness in his own strength and drive.

Idk it's just interesting to me. Having been away from it long enough, I think I really do appreciate chapter 2 after all.
