1. While yes, Sally loves the color pink, it isn’t actually her favorite color. She doesn’t have one. She loves blue, green, purple, all colors.

Ooook, so when i first watched this episode, i was PISSED & really disappointed. I still think 13x09 would have been a better midseason finale, with 13x10 being the resolution for the midseason premiere. Ultimately, I think it set the groundwork for more insight on why Pascal doesn't want to get attached to 51. It feels like he's committed to not building bonds here & I think it has to do with whatever happened in Miami. The question is, will we ever find out?
Stella & her little moments of encouragement to Ritter really meant a lot to me. It gave me hope because it felt like they were acknowledging the baby conversation without acknowledging it if that makes sense. Stellaride is solid she just needs more time & that's fair. I'm choosing to trust this process & hold onto S12 because it was beautiful for Stellaride & Newman is partly to thank for that, so I believe S13 will give us what we want & need. Time will tell, but I'm holding onto the lines she said to Ritter about Dwayne.

What if Casey is dating Andy Dardens little sister who comes back to Chicago to replace gabby Dawson when she left Chicago.
Y/n had to leave Chicago to take care of her two nephews Griffin and Ben. She and Casey decided to have a long distance relationship but he visit his girlfriend as much as he can do.
It is the Stellaride wedding and y/n are coming back to Chicago to be there for her best friend and for Severide who is like a brother to her. Y/n has some news for everyone that she tells them about before the wedding.
Y/n is moving back to Chicago with her two nephews and she can finally take care of them in there home city.
Casey is gonna propose to his girlfriend in the evening of the wedding when they are alone. But there is one problem.
Gabby shows up at the firehouse the day before the wedding. Casey doesn’t care that his ex wife is in town and that she will be at the wedding.
But y/n feels uncomfortable when gabby is in Chicago seven if they used to be best friends and partners on Ambo 61 before Leslie Shay started at firehouse 51.
Y/n are best friend with Sylvie Brett and they where partners on Ambo 61 before she moved to Portland.

Matt Casey- Home Pt1
Things were obviously tuff after my brother Andy's death. Heather my sister in law got a DUI and ended up in prison for 15 months. During that time I looked after hers and my brothers kids, when she was released Heather took Griffin and Ben to live away in Florida. She suddenly stoped phoning me and anytime I would phone her I was cut off. Eventually I was blocked. This was heard on me because all I wanted was to speak to my nephews. Matt and Gabby got divorced then I started dating Matt.
Then one day Griffin appeared on mine and Matts doorstep telling us how his mom keeps moving him around and now is in prison again. Of course after a lengthy conversation Matt and I made the decision that I'd moved in with Griffin, Ben and Heather until I know that she can cope again.
I was gone for a long time, but Matt and I made it work doing long distance. He would also come and visit me any time he could, but it's tough. And unfortunately Heather kept getting into trouble, so Matt suggests that the kids just move in with him and I, that way Heather can sort herself out and the kids would have a stable environment. Plus with Gabby leaving I was offered to become PIC of ambo 61. I'm not just coming home because of that, it's also my best friend Kelly's wedding.
I walk into the fire house holding on to my nephews hands hoping to surprise everyone. Of course Matt and Kelly know I'm coming home, but they think my flight gets in later
"Geeze, thought I'd at least get some banners for my return"
"Babe?" Matt looks over a little shocked "thought I was picking you and the kids up later"
"Eh flight changed"
"No it didn't you said you wanted to surprise everyone"
"Thanks Ben"
"YN. It's good to have you back" Herrmann pulls me into a hug which is followed by everyone else
"YN thank you for coming back for the wedding"
"Well that's not the only reason I'm back" I say replying to Kelly
"Well don't leave us all waiting" Brett encourages
"Well I'm coming back permanently, Ben, Griffin and I. I'm gonna be the PIC of ambo 61 again"
"Yes!" Gallo fist bumps the air
"Bless our saviour"
"Oh thank god" Brett hugs me again
"What did I miss?" I chuckle
"The person who replaced you temporarily, well she's not the nicest"
"Emma just creates a lot of drama" Gallo replies for Capp
"She's been after the PIC job since you left"

"Right we best get you guys fed. You hungry?" Kelly asks me and the kids
"I'm starving" I reply chuckling. The kids follow Kelly to the kitchen while I get stopped by my very handsome boyfriend

"Just glad your here and staying" he places his hands on either side of my face and presses a kiss against my lips
"Oh Errm sorry to interrupt" we break apart and see Emma "was just coming to collect my things"

"No course not" she smiles but I can see how fake it is
"Come on let's grab something to eat" Matt wraps his arm around my shoulders and we head to the kitchen

"Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3 , ambo 61. Structure fire 336 Arlington"

On the way home the taxi driver starts to drive passed where the fire. I notice Emma outside getting shouted at, but no Matt, Stella or Sylvie
"Hey can you stop a minute?" I ask and get out
"Hey. Boden things ok? Where's Brett?"
"Inside. Woman's giving birth and Jacobs left her"
"Chief send me in?"
"What. You don't start till...."
"I know but if someone's giving birth up there Brett's gonna need help, please?"
"Ok go"
"Ok boys I want you to stand over there with Chief Boden. Ok don't leave his side"
"Ok" the boys leave the car while I run into the burning building
"Brett? Kidd? Casey?" I shout running up some stairs
"YN?" I hear Brett yell and follow her voice
"Holy shit" I notice the room on fire
"She's crowning" Brett tells me "YN give me the bulb suction" I hand her what she needs while I tend to her wound on her shoulder "ok big push" Brett says. Thankfully we hear crying from the baby
"Ok Kidd Casey carry her out. Brett you got the baby?"
"Yeah"
"Ok when we have them in the ambo I want to put oxygen on the baby just in case as well as the mother. Let's go" I grab the bag and follow the others out. When we get outside to safety I hear Emma getting told to clean out her locker
"Welcome home YN" Brett smiles giving me a side hug once the baby was in the ambo having oxygen thanks to other paramedics that just arrived.
We arrive back at the firehouse, everyone excited for my return when I see Gabby. My old best friend
"Hey" she smiles and Matt and I
"Hi Gabby"
"Well this is awkward" Mouch mumbles earning a nudge from Gallo
"I'm not here to cause drama. Just here for the wedding"
"Errm it's good to see you Gabby. Matt I'm gonna take the kids home. I'll see you later" I give him a kiss and leave the firehouse feeling a little uncomfortable about Matts ex being here. Yes we were once friends and yes ok I'm the bitch that dated her best friends ex husband, but doesn't mean that I'm not a little worried.

Echoes of Home: 51 - Steve ("Sam")
Echoes of Home: FFXIV AU OC – WoLs on Earth
Coming from over a year in a world where sleep is sort of recreational to the world I know where circadian kicks in makes it a bit rough to shift sleep schedule on the fly. It took a while to get to sleep in the afternoon. Never been the sheep-counting type. I tried cataloguing things in my head...pets, mounts, NPCs...finally dropped off in the midst of my Triple Triad cards.
Tsu'na worked the register that night, sans hat and coat. People looked at her, sure, but not wolf-pack staring like the other time. Maybe it was the Hartmans, maybe Sam, maybe me...or maybe she's just that personable. She never needed to smile fulltime like she was that night, and she was doing it well. My magnificent miqo'te was magnificent.
I hated to abandon her to the wolves, but she seemed to be doing okay, so around 11:00 I headed out to see Sam. Even if he didn't see me.
He had the back door of the Pit open when I got there, which made it easier to get in. Ninja Stealth gets a little iffy when it comes to doors, and we haven't had enough occasion to practice here to see if it works like Douglas Adams' SEP field. Gatherer Sneak seems to, but we don't usually have doors in the woods.
His truck was parked near the door. It seemed he was restocking. I got a glimpse of an invoice on the bar detailing purchases for one S. Daniels, The Pit (so not just a nickname), Wyatt OK. My first intel gathered. I was so proud.
I watched him move kegs from his pickup into his back room, watched him make a last circuit of the bar before killing the lights, and finally watched from the back of the truck as he locked up the bar, got in the front of the truck and drove us off.
Sam Daniels does not appear to have a brother named Jack, or a son named Jack, or a dog named Jack. I don't know if that was a missed opportunity or responsible parenting. He does have a wife, or at least a cohabiting female, who was asleep in the bed when we arrived. He also has a goldfish (who may or may not be named Jack), which was convenient for me, because after he went to bed I could read by the aquarium light.
He didn't go to bed right away. He got himself some water from a filter pitcher (interesting choice for a bartender) and settled down on the couch to watch CNN (interesting choice for small town USA). He may not be a scholar, but he's not an idiot.
The old, yellowed PC in the spare bedroom looked like something bought because Everybody Has One rather than something used for fun. The parts of the room that weren't the desk and chair were heaps of boxes and piles of stuff. I didn't have a lot of light to see by, but it looked less like hoarder chaos and more like abandoned projects...folded fabric, folio books and the like. As if this was the room where dreams went to die.
Sam finished his water and his news intake and went to bed, leaving the fish and me to socialize. I waited for a while until his breathing was audible and rhythmic before moving things to the fish tank to read.
Not that there was much to read. No convenient stack of mail by the door. An electric bill on one end of the kitchen counter, addressed to Samuel Daniels. No junk mail I could find sent to Resident or Occupant, though there was a flyer from Community Baptist Church for "Our Neighbors".
No bank statement. No purse. Nothing lying around that would tell me the name of the woman. Maybe in the bedroom, but I admit to a squeam about going in there with them, especially if the light was poor. Which was annoying, because I felt an itch to know coming on. I made a mental note to add night-vision goggles to my wishlist.
There was a small stack of magazines on the floor at one end of the couch...People, Cosmo, Vanity Fair. None of them had mailing labels (stupid itch), which meant they were bought from somewhere. I didn't remember seeing magazines at May's, but I hadn't been looking.
No books. The Hartmans didn't have many, and the library was small, but I wasn't used to not seeing any. Maybe again in the bedroom.
I looked around as much as the aquarium permitted. It wasn't sparse, or spartan, or utilitarian; it was just really...tidy. The furniture was old and the place felt lived-in, but there wasn't a lot of life filling the space. Which just made me itch more about the wife...sure, maybe all of Sam's life was at the bar, but what about hers?
Spying and burglary weren't really a thing in FF14, so I didn't have a lockpicking skill. Elder Scrolls Online had a lot of it...I was breaking into places all the time in that game. Might be nice if I could drop into an ESO world for training. In the meantime, if I left I couldn't get back in until someone opened a door, which might be at least six hours later.
But there was absolutely nothing to do until someone got up. I couldn't sleep there...I might get tripped over. Or heard...Tsu'na's never said I snore; Sam should probably not be the person to tell me.
So I slipped out, leaving the door locked behind me. Sam's porch light was on, showing me a mostly empty yard, but there were some trees at the edge of the light range. I went out to the trees, then went out further until I couldn't see the porch light any more, then just a bit further. I got out the camping kit, set up the tent, and crawled in.
The sleep I got earlier helped, but the unexpected exercise degraded me. The snooping plus the camp setup, plus waiting for Sam to turn in, had eaten a couple hours. I didn't know how long Sam would sleep, but I needed to be up before him, so I linkpearled Tsu'na about the new schedule, set an alarm for five hours and conked out.
And woke, not to the alarm, but to metal banging. "Hey! You in the tent! Get out here!"
I unzipped the tent and peered out. There was Sam, a shotgun in his right hand and a tire iron in his left. He blinked and stared at me. "Steve?"
I blinked and stared back at him. "Sam?"
"The fuck're you doin' here?"
"...Trying to sleep?"
"Next to my house!?"
I looked blearily around. Yes, I could in fact just barely see his wood-paneled house out there beyond the trees. Which meant he could see my orange nylon tent from his front porch.
The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal is known to be so stupid that it thinks that, if you can't see it, it can't see you.
"That's your house? I didn't know."
"Then what are you doing here?"
A random neuron fired. "Looking for sumac."
"...Sumac."
"Yeah, it's a bush, grows around six feet…"
"I know what sumac is!"
"Okay, well, Tsu'na said she wanted some for an herbal thing, and the forest service maps said it grew around here."
"And you went looking for it, what, at night?"
"It...got me away from her. She was being kinda bitchy. I think it might be her time of the month."
(I couldn't tell if she was amused when I told her about this. "I was a prop?" "No, my love, I was making excuses. You were an alibi.")
Sam sighed, and let his gaze wander around the trees. 'You wanted to hang out, whyn'cha just come to the bar?"
"I didn't know this was your place! I saw the porch light, thought it'd be a good reference point in the morning."
"This is weird. You know that, right?"
"Kinda weird, yeah."
He looked at me. I looked at him.
I gestured to the gun. "Shotgun?"
"Problems with squatters."
"Gotcha. Look, lemme pack up the tent and I'll be on my way…"
"You want breakfast?"
"Oh, I couldn't impose…"
"Pack up the damn tent and come to the house."
"Yes, sir."
The tent came with a shoulder tote, which I stuffed it into, because of course I didn't have an extradimensional pocket for it or anything.�� I lugged it up to the house, knocked on the door and was greeted once again by Sam. I stepped inside to find the woman awake, sitting on the couch, and absorbed in the TV.
"This is my wife, Dolores. Dee, this is Steve from the bar. He's who was in the tent."
Dolores blinked and looked up at me. "Why's he camping next to us?"
"He was out at night, got lost and parked at the first house he saw."
She kept staring at me. I was reminded of Snuggles and Cat TV. "You could get yerself shot doing that."
"Thanks…I'll keep that in mind."
She studied me a moment longer, looked at Sam, and turned back to the TV. I was clearly Sam's to deal with. And my novelty just didn't compete with Oprah.
I followed Sam to the kitchen. "Seriously, you don't have to…"
"Dee woke me, I woke you. We're both up, so we might as well both eat. How do you want your eggs?"
"However you make 'em is fine."
He gave me a pointed look.
"...Over-medium?"
"Hm. So however I make 'em?"
"Is fine."
Scrambled was fine, especially with toast. He set the plates down and sat across from me. "Find any sumac, then?"
"Honestly, I wasn't trying that hard."
"She like this often?"
"Depends on the circumstance."
"An' the time o' the month?"
"Well, yeah. But I think she's been a bit edgy sometimes here. New place, new people, new ear and tail issues…"
Sam nodded. "Spoke with some o' the regulars 'bout that. They kinda like her, ya know…cute lil' thing like her that can throw 'em around. The ears an' tail just give her…whatcha call…"
"Mystique?"
"Was gonna say character, but sure. They think of her as part o' the bar, part o' them…and they can get kinda territorial. Sure, they fight sometimes, but no one comes in an' makes a mess o' their bar, ya know?"
I smiled. "So she's got herself a home."
"Oh, hell yeah. Ain't it like that at the diner? Joel said he an' Hazel been talkin' to people."

Talk drifted to the shed, and some things about running the bar. Through it all, Dolores (itch scratched) kept her eyes on the TV. I guess that's where her life is now. Though I do wonder about the piles of stuff in the other room.
Sam offered to drive me back to town, as long as I didn't mind a stop at the Safeway out the highway. I found dried sumac there, for appearances. Sam recommended I add a bag of chocolates ("Trust me on this."). We loaded his stuff into the truck and drove toward the diner.
I told Tsu'na the story of my adventure. I think she was trying not to laugh at me. "What is sumac?"
"This stuff."
"And what will we do with it?"
"Put it on pizza, maybe?"
"And the chocolate?"
"Sam said women like chocolate during their period."
"I must thank Sam for teaching my husband about women."
"You've never had a period."
"No, but I like chocolate. If Sam has taught you to bring me chocolate, I must thank him."
So, an all-around educational night. We were both a bit short on sleep, so we went to bed for a couple hours.
As we cuddled under the blanked, she nuzzled close and whispered "sumac" in my ear with a giggle.
I'll probably be hearing about that for a while.

Okay—I really need to know this because it’s been keeping me up all night pookie…This is just my guess! But we can alter the story any way! MENTIONS OF ABUSE (KINDA)!!!
I feel like Chris’s now wife was in one of those situations where she got married extremely young, I’d say about 20-22? Maybe even a little older. But I feel like that’s one reason she was in such an abusive and toxic marriage. Her and her now ex husband were still young, probably had a baby not to long after, and that’s when I think the abuse really started.
It wasn’t long after their little ‘honeymoon’ which was really them just having time off from work and staying home all day. He’d start getting a bit manipulative and toxic, then as you advanced into your pregnancy, I feel like that’s when all of the real serious things started to happen. It would be over the most random and small thing too. She accidentally dropped a glass while washing the dishes? He’d get into his screaming fit, going on about how she was useless while she stood there like a scared puppy, trying her hardest to apologize and defend herself only to be met with a slap on the face.
Ollie was only a year and a couple months when you finally had enough, dropping everything and leaving your shitty husband. You’d spend all day working, taking extra shifts to make enough to atleast put away for a tiny apartment for you and Ollie. Yelling at Redfield all night for him to take your orders and STOP GETTING HIMSELF IN TROUBLE!!!
Chris was born in 1973, technically making him like…51 or something in 2024 😳. (I ❤️ Peepaws.) He’d be 48 in RE8 and around 40 for Death Island. I feel like him and his wife would have an age difference. Let’s just say she got married at 24, + 1 year for the pregnancy with Ollie and how long it took to conceive. 25 + 15 (Ollie’s age basically) she’d be around 39/40ish in 2024? Correct my math and lore if I’m wrong yall…

Correction: Chris is 42 in DI cause it's set in 2015.
If your math is matching right and by the ages of the kids they met sometime in 2011ish, So he'd be 38 and if she got married at 22, waited to have a baby at 24+1 for the pregnancy and 1 more year for the time frame of her leaving Turner (yes her ex-husband gets an ugly name). She'd be 26 when they met.

(fun fact, my parents were 11 years apart from each other lol)
So if our girl math is girl mathing yes, it be 51/40 (Cradle robber Chris. Jkjk that's not even that big of a gap imo)
Which is hilarious because that would mean she's younger than Claire too... By 5 years. But y'know. People can find love at any age. Plus there's benefits to loving an older man. They know what they want (most of the time)
As for the previous marriage! (CW: Baby trapping and abuse in a varieties of ways) (Also, there's literally no excuse to abuse your partner...)
They definitely got married young, probably met in college and decided to get married after she graduated (he's like a year or 2 older than her). Turner's got some fancy business job that makes him stressed constantly and he's away a lot so she didn't get to see him often.
She's got a degree in Public Relations and knows a few languages as she took elective courses to make her resume look all that more sparkling when graduating. And so she shot high, applying for a lot of jobs (it's about 2006 at this point so the job market isn't that bad) she gets a lot of offers.
She ends up taking some assitant position at a relator office and the market crash is 08 pretty much made her job vanish. So she's unemployed and solely relying on Turner. Which is fine, he's doing well and they have a good income. Nothing to worry about too much. But for ages now they've argued and it got really heated. Got in each others faces. But she loves him so she stays. But her patience is waring thinner and thinner by the day.
She gets pregnant and he's just... Awful. Manipulative and making everything out to be about how this is going to solely affect him. (Even though he most definitely got her pregnant on purpose so she'd have no choice but to stay) But she debates on keeping the baby and eventually Turner tells her she is. Doesn't even let her think otherwise after that, love bombs her because it's noticeable she has one foot out the door. But even after that she's on edge constantly. Flinching at the slightest knock or slam of a door because she thinks something's wrong immediately.
Turner still argues with her, has escalated to calling her a worthless cow by now. Telling her all she's ever been good for was giving him the son she's pregnant with. Eventually he goes away for business and she tries gaining some sense of independence. So she gets a shitty marketing job where she basically calls people all day and gets hung up on. July 2009 rolls around and Ollie's born. Turner makes her quit her job so she can take care of the baby. Complaining about how they can't afford daycare right now.
So she complies... Quiting her job. Things got worse and worse from that point on. This is when the physical abuse starts. They're fighting in the kitchen and Ollie's asleep in his room. Turner comes in from work and they start going at it. Ollie wakes up and starts crying over the baby monitor. Immediately she's going to see what's wrong and the argument shifts to her mothering skills and how Oliver seems to be getting too reliant on her. So she spits back at him about how if she had some help it wouldn't be like that.
Turner slaps her, she's shocked. He actually put his hands on her. He wedges her between the babys bedroom door and his body. His hands gripping her hard enough to bruise. Gritting his teeth as he threatens her. Telling her if she ever talks to him like that again he'll do a lot more than just a simple slap. He let's her go and tells him to shut the baby up.
So she goes into Ollie's room and consoles him and she starts silently crying herself. Realizing the severity of everything now. She can't stay, that was just the first time and if he'd do that feet away from the baby imagine what he'd do in front of him...
So she start slowly warming him up to the idea of getting a job again. To help get Ollie in daycare or even a nanny so they can get out of their apartment and into a house with enough space. Turner agrees, letting her look for a job. She applies for a job as a communications team lead at the BSAA. It sounds like an easy enough job. And she's over qualified. Saving up for nearly a year all while taking countless instances of abuse verbally or physically.
She gets the job easily. Ends up setting up her checks to go into her friends business account and transfer her paychecks into a separate account because she lied to Turner and told him she got a job with her friend so it be "more secure" and less likely to be fired. He buys it. She slowly pulls money out of her second account and hides it in the babies room until he goes on a business trip for work.
Literally packs all their stuff in the back of a moving truck and goes to Bella (her best friend since highschool) begging for the help she needs and of course she takes them in...
She's finally out of that hellhole. Slaps him with a divorce filing not long after. Getting a push from the countless police reports they'd had filed over domestic disputes. No need to wait to separate. But the divorce takes time itself.
She takes night shifts, switching spots with the night shift lead because it's higher pay. The only thing that she hates about the job is the people she has to deal with. Especially with the Alpha team leader who frequently talks over her or orders his men to shut comms off in enemy territory when it's literally her job to relay information. You strictly deal with this Redfield guy only...
Well each team lead needs to join a special meeting with the BSAA'S UN ambassador to go over how each department is doing. So you're all sat around this long table and they slowly introduce everyone as each department or team head stands up and talks about everything. It's your turn, you stand and introduce yourself. Talk about everything that's been happening since your shift change and each teams performance could use improvements. But this absolute brick wall of a guy 3 seats down is just staring... Intensely...
Everyone is staring, they're supposed to when someone's presenting. But his feels different. Almost like you're an exhibit and he's a patron of some kind watching you in your natural habitat. You sit, being thanked by the ambassador as he moves along the table. Eventually landing on the massive guy.
The words "Alpha team leader" leave the ambassadors mouth as this bear man stands up. He's so tall... Built like a buff rectangle... He talks, introducing himself as Chris Redfield.
Of course... His name would be something douchey like Chris. He's just talking and you can't help but dig your nails into your hands he's so irritating. Eventually the meeting ends and you're saying your goodbyes as you leave the meeting room and who's waiting at the elevator.
Redfield... Of course.
You really can't help yourself at this point, this man's been on your nerves for the past 2 months now. You need to say something. So you stomp towards him, pulse beating in your neck the longer you look at him.
"Hey asshole." He turns his attention as you walk up to him. He looks down at you, the size difference being almost laughable as you glare at him.
"H-"
"You got a lot of fucking nerve talking to me like you do sometimes." His eyebrows raise and lips part, about to say something when you cut him off.
"Whatever you're about to say, save it... My job is to relay information to your TEAM, not it's captain. I'm supposed to keep you and your squad safe and informed. You aren't letting me do my God damn job."
You jab a nail into his chest, poking hard.
"I need this job. My money goes straight from my wallet into my babys mouth and I'm not gonna be the one explaining to him why mommy can't feed him because some... Some giant, steroid obsessed... bear looking man can't keep his mouth shut! So do us both a favor, shut the fuck up and let me talk to your team."
You take in a breath and he stares wide eyed and almost amazed by your display of forwardness. The elevator dings next to him as he makes some kind of "um" sound. But you don't care what he has to say, you just push past him and decide to take the stairs down.
Your next shift you come in to your desk to a bouquet of flowers and a hand written apology from Chris himself. At the bottom his phone number is scribbled next to his signature. With a 'P.S. If you ever need anything, don't be scared to reach out.'

day eleven - “you’ll be okay”
notes: welcome to day 11! throwing it all the way back this sunday and posting the very first stellaride story I ever wrote. enjoy!

Severide was sitting on the back bumper of the Squad truck, an instant ice pack held to the side of his head. His head hurt, thanks largely to the knucklehead they had just rescued, but he was certain it wasn’t anything more than just a bump and a headache. Unfortunately, Boden had seen and heard the hit and told him, in no uncertain terms, to sit down, shut up, and wait to be checked out by the medics.
All around him, there was noise and activity and while he was positive he didn’t have a concussion, the hustle and bustle of the scene did nothing to ease the hammering ache that had taken up residence in his head.
Trying to ignore the pounding in his head, Kelly focused on the people around him. Squad was loading their tools and ropes back into their truck, the members of Truck were clearing up the scene, and Sylvie and Stella, who was filling in for Gabby for a bit, were checking out the last two accident victims.
Both paramedics looked to be finishing up with their patients and, as luck would have it, Stella finished first and made her way over to him.
“What happened to you?” she asked, quirking an eyebrow.
“Hit my head on the frame when the driver freaked out,” Severide answered, moving the ice pack away so Stella could probe his head. “I’m fine, but Boden saw it happen and told me to get checked out.”
“And you listened? I’m shocked.” Stella commented. Happy with her examination of his head, she moved on to continue her concussion check.
Severide scoffed playfully. “I listen.”
“Mhm.”
Stella continued her examination, going above and beyond and checking more than just Kelly’s head. After all, everyone at 51 knew his habit of hiding and playing down injuries and ailments. Satisfied with her exam, Stella took a step back and gave Severide some space.
Before she could say anything, Boden walked over. “How’s he doing, Kidd?”
“Well, he’s probably going to have one hell of a headache for a day or two but no concussion. He’ll be okay.” Stella turned her attention back to Severide. “Keep the ice pack on until we get back to the station, then you should be good. Take some Tylenol if the pain gets to be too bad and if anything changes or your symptoms worsen, tell me or Brett immediately.”
Boden turned to look at his Lieutenant. “Did you get that Severide? I will gladly send you to Med for a full work up.”
“Yeah Chief, I got it.”
Boden nodded once, then moved away, once again leaving Stella and Severide alone. Severide rolled his eyes at the Chief’s retreat and looked at Stella with a smirk. He sobered when he saw the serious look on her face.
“I’m serious Kelly,” Stella urged, arms crossed over her chest. “Head injuries are serious.”
“I know, and I meant what I said. I heard you and the Chief loud and clear.” Severide said seriously, standing up from where he’d been sitting. “I will tell you or Brett the second something feels off.”
“You better.”
Severide nodded and stared at her for a moment before breaking eye contact. “Squad 3, let’s finish up!”
… … …
Hours later, after dinner had been cleaned up and everyone had dispersed throughout the station, Severide was in his dimly lit office lying across his bed with an arm thrown over his eyes. He had long since given up on completing the paperwork currently strewn across his desk, the pounding in his head too distracting to focus. He hadn’t planned on turning in for the night, but once he laid down, he didn’t want to get up again.
When he heard a knock at the door, he was ready to yell at whoever was there but when Severide moved his arm and saw Stella, he sat up. “Hey.”
“I brought you another ice pack, and some more Tylenol because I know you haven’t taken any more since we got back to the station,” Stella said as she entered his office and sat next to him on the bed. “How’s your head?”
“It hurts,” Severide said. He looked at Stella with a small smirk. “But a very nice paramedic checked me out and told me I’d be OK.”
Stella snorted. “Sounds like you had a great paramedic checking you out.”
“Yeah, she’s pretty great.”
Stella smirked and handed Severide Tylenol and a bottle of water. When he didn’t take them immediately, she quirked an eyebrow at him. Severide huffed out a chuckle and took the pills Stella had given him, setting the water bottle on the floor beside his bed.
Stella cracked the instant ice pack in her hands to get it cold then tossed it to Severide, who lifted it up to his head. When he immediately complied, Stella knew he hurt more than he let on. Kelly Severide liked to play the tough guy but Stella could see through his act. Severide groaned dramatically at the cold. Stella rolled her eyes and stood up.
“Get some sleep,” Stella murmured as she gently pushed his shoulder to get him to lie back down. “You’ll be okay.”
“Promise?” Severide asked teasingly.
Stella glared at him, but there was no fire behind it. “I promise.”

Elsewhere yet, an obese female sits in a wicker chair, her silhouette ball-like against the window. Outside: Grand Couron. The day is turning dim for Sergeant Mack Torson. Hand extended, he approaches. To make sure she *is* dead, more than anything else...

CUNOESSE - The disappointment is palpable -- the red haired thing was expecting something more lurid.

KIM KITSURAGI - "The rest of the clothes have been removed postmortem by scavengers. In order to get to the victim's ceramic armour. Officers are in search of the missing pieces -- removal of the boots is left for Processing."
DRAMA [Easy: Success] - It would be *clever* of you to omit the boots altogether, sire. If you are to *keep* them for yourself -- as you ought to. You have deserved them more than anyone else!

Alright, since I can’t seem to come up with anything good to write, I’ve decided to let an AI generate random dialogue prompts. If you are interested in any of them being part of a fanfic, please send an ask with said prompt. Also, if you have an idea of what you want me to do with the prompt, feel free to include it in the ask. Angst? Happy? Funny? Only writing for Kaz Brekker at the moment, but might do it again for more characters.

Sydari and Teldryn OTP Asks!

12. Do they have many heated arguments? How do they smooth things over?
At the very start, they do. Their whole beginning is Teldryn being suspicious of Sydari's intentions and Sydari being mad that Teldryn is being dismissive and not accepting her help. She's also mad at him because he's ostensibly making the whole situation worse and he's damn lucky that Geldis convinced her to work with them instead of against them. Coz she was very close to just stabbing him in the face and getting her payout. If he wasn't such a dick about it maybe they'd have started working together sooner but alas. He's just being a dick.
They then move on to more playful fighting, teasing, and petty disagreements. They do have a pretty nasty fight after Diplomatic Immunity. It's kinda both of their faults for separate reasons. Both of them are withholding important information from each other and it all comes out in an explosive argument that has Teldryn leaving for a period of time to cool off. He comes back but it was heated. A lot of things are said that they both regret and can't take back.
They just end up missing each other too much to stay mad for too long. Though smoothing things over takes time.
14. How do their personalities compliment each other? How do they clash?
Since they both got off on the wrong foot when they first met they take a while before that complimentary part kicks in. Sydari thinks Teldryn is arrogant, stubborn and careless. He doesn't do much to make her think otherwise. Teldryn is certain that Sydari is working against him and is therefore someone to avoid. Geldis is the one who convinces Sydari to consider their side of the story. Geldis has his own plans here but the evidence does convince her that Teldryn isn't all bad. Teldryn has to be made to hear her out and begrudgingly lets her help to shut Geldis up. There's a forced camping situation where they sort their grievances out prior to meeting back up with Geldis. Which he totally planned...totally.
He finds out that she likes to bullshit about as much as he does. He finds her easy to talk to, and vice versa. They both like borrowing objects without permission, it's how they made their fortunes. Taking one really big thing and selling it! Was the big thing in a really dangerous place? Brilliant! Aren't you cool? They think they're cool.
They have similar goals and sense of humour as well as similar vices. They tend to influence each other to do brilliant (read dumb) things. I call them bad decision buddies for a reason. They usually egg each other on. Alcohol makes the shenanigans more fun (stupid and destructive). They work well in a fight and have managed to deal with the more serious issues by collectively ignoring them. They get made to deal with their problems eventually and that's when arguments are more likely to happen. They both have a shitty temper and don't enjoy the idea of compromising. Despite this, Teldryn will still follow Sydari as far as he possibly can until he can't.
21. Who would get into a fight to defend the other's honor? Who tends to the other's wounds?
Teldryn would get into a fight simply because your face annoyed him if he was in a foul enough mood. His moods are better with Sydari around so he's getting in fewer fights. He would get into a fight in order to defend her honour, which would be more likely to happen in Windhelm than anywhere else. She grew up there and it wasn't pleasant. This doesn't bother Teldryn, he doesn't look down on people for that. What does bother him is when it's used as an insult. He won't have her insulted.
Sydari has also been known to clock the odd asshole in the jaw herself. Though she's much more likely to insult that asshole until he's a crying mess. Teldryn knows she doesn't need the help, not usually. He just hates that kind of attitude. It rubs him the wrong way.
Teldryn attracts negative attention from Nords mostly. He stands out because he insists on wearing the most obviously Dunmer-looking armours possible. Sydari would defend his honour if he hadn't already smashed that Nord into a wall and caused a very large commotion.
So Sydari is usually the one left to bandage him up after a fight. She's shit with magic so she can't use any restoration to heal him but he has that covered. Ideally, they'd rope Aphia into healing anything particularly bad but she's not going to take time out of her day in order to fix broken nose number six. He's learnt how to set it himself since it's always the first thing that people seem to hit. It's only set wrong -one time- before he knew any restoration magic.
So Sydari mostly just hands him bandages and potions, applies salves to burns etc. And she tells him off for being so stupid. I think there's an artwork that shows that...now where did I put it.
51. What’s a non verbal way they say I love you?
Sydari likes purple flowers. She's a big fan of how nightshade looks but loves the smell of lavender. So she tends to mix the two together in planter pots and vases. She hasn't told anyone this, she doesn't expect gifts so she gets things for herself that she likes. She likes purple, though she wears a lot of red. Most of her jewellery, which she also loves, has purple stones, the type doesn't matter, so long as it's the right colour.
Teldryn saw a really pretty circlet in Solitude. Gold, three amethysts inlaid in the centre. He wanted to get her something nice before she had to attend that boring party. He wanted her to feel nice. He doesn't buy many things but he sunk 500 septims on that and another 250 on a muffling enchantment so that the circlet was actually useful.
It made her cry. She was happy and he liked that. So he started putting the odd flower in her pack or in a book cover. Things he thinks she'd find pretty. He still gets the same response, every time. It makes him happy.
Sydari thinks Teldryn needs new things. He doesn't own much and what he does own is old, very, very old. She tried to make him buy a new shirt by stealing his, he just stole it back. She's since figured out that he prefers to be given things. Used things. She first gave him a red bandana because he was complaining that his hair was getting in his eyes. It was red, he likes that colour. Orange too.
Then the old elven sword he'd been carrying around snapped in a dragon's skull out near Kynesgrove. Sydari has quite a few blades lying around so she took him to her armoury in Breezehome and let him take his pick.
He chose a light one-handed glass sword with a fun enchantment. Though he's not sure what it actually does. It's lighter than his old sword, and he likes how it sizzles after he stabs something he's just set on fire. He use to have one just like it a long time ago but it...went missing a long time ago. It feels good to have it back.
Sydari is glad she can associate it with someone else.
