Are you serious about hating Aang? I know his writing goes to crap after ATLA, but he's so sweet in the show!

I'm dead serious. The way his character progresses through the post series canon is not a departure from his character in ATLA. Where he ended up by LoK doesn't surprise me at all. To paraphrase Pulitzer Prize winner, Kendrick Lamar, I hate the way that Aang walIks, the way that he talks. I hate the way that he dress. I hate the way that he sneak kiss. Let Katara's fist catch a flight, it's gon be direct.

I hate the way his people pleasing Nice Guy act is rewarded. I hate the way that the entire relationship between him and Katara centers him. He is never ten toes down for her. He's never ten toes down for any of his friends. I hate the way that his not even considering an alternative way to stop Ozai is treated like a virtue. Like he's too pure to notice how the war has affected the world around him, and especially the people he claims are his friends. Aang is one of, if not THEE worst protagonist I've ever encountered. And yes, ultimately it all boils down to the writing. That's literally all he is. If he had better writing, he would be a different character. How would I feel about that version of Aang? I don't know. He doesn't exist.

Something they really never touched on enough in the final arc of Bleach is this fun point of contrast where through Sklaverei Quincy can subsume hollow elements into themselves, but it's considered a grotesque "corruption" where as Shinigami have the ability to incorporate hollow elements into themselves and achieve some degree of harmony if they're willing/able to go through the ordeal of actually confronting that corrupt reflection of the self. And it's a dichotomy that really should have been better explored, just as a cosmology and fight logic thing, but also via Ichigo specifically.

It would've made a lot more sense than the nothing horseshit we got about his Quincy side. It would have made much more sense for his struggle in this arc to be between the difficult and scary choice to face his literal inner demon, or take the shortcut of being absolved of his sins by an outside force. You can attain enlightenment through self reflection and Understanding(the "-kai" in shikai and bankai), or you can welcome Yhwach into your heart and let him wash the sin away. The original sin: Knowledge. Give him your hollow powers so you don't have to deal with them. Don't worry about what happens after that. Not your problem anymore. Isn't that nice?

Take the sin of knowledge away, take understanding away, take bankai away, take the evil with it, rid yourself of your hollow, your dark side, your flaws. On your deathbed, as you face down the terror of loss and unfulfilled desire that threaten to turn you into a Hollow, give yourself to God and let him save you. Take him into your heart and let him suppress that evil, let him lift the burden of sin from you. Give the sin to him. Give him your identity, give him your darkness, your weakness, all the markers of identity(mask) that could become power(sword), let Yhwach give you the power to overcome your shortcomings, and in return give your power back to him when you die.(or when he just decides to take it back by ripping it out of you) Let Yhwach become a collection of all that repressed sin, of the innate dark sides that every good christianQuincy denies actually exists in their heart, let him take it away for you, let him be your martyr. And when he takes the hollow from you, let him become an amalgamation of all that darkness, all those hollows, all that sin --The ultimate shadow self, of all selves, a dark god. Because he's not the soul king, he's just an offshoot of it, its orphaned shadow, cast out a denied just like all those potential-hollows that make him up; A negative reflection, a shadow under the light of god, an absence of divinity, A Devil?

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

Part of me wants to make an AU where Shen Yuan never breaks the OOC lock, or at least breaks it WAY later. I want to see the shenanigans and loopholes he pulls on the system to get his way. He's a clever guy who can strategize and argue like he will die on ANY and EVERY hill, and he DID manage to twist things his way before the lock was lifted. I want to see how far he could GO.

Shen Qingqiu: Obviously the scum villain, upon finding out the little beast is an excellent cook, would keep those skills for himself. He wouldn't share or allow another peak lord or disciple to benefit from it!
