Omega when she gets to jail and realizes that she now has to big sister four other children. One of which is nowhere near her age.

Going to try and condense some more serious thoughts about these episodes down below so I can avoid spoiling someone as much as possible and not post a dozen times. I don’t want to miss tag any one of those.

Jex/Jek?? I can’t completely remember his name, but the mirialan kid is for sure not going to trust her at all. Can’t say much for the pantoran kid since they haven’t shown much of them so far, but Eva is going to love her.

I think the mirialan kid is definitely going to be skeptical of Omega’s prior knowledge of the facility, Emerie, and why they’re there. Although he might overlook these things hanging on her promise that her brothers will get her, and in turn them, out of there. I can’t help but wonder what Omega and the others will think after about a week and there still not being a rescue. (These two are assuming that she will be placed with the other force sensitive children. Although she may be moved since her blood actually works for project Necromancer)

Crosshair is definitely going to hear it from Hunter. ESPECIALLY after he threw Hunter’s past failure to keep her out of Tantiss in his face. What I think will weigh on his conscience more though is the fact he thinks she’ll be alone this time. In a way she definitely will, but I have no doubt that he realizes he was probably the highlight of her day. He was probably the one thing that kept her hopeful even if he tried to talk down on her and get her to leave. Yes, she had hope that Hunter and Wrecker would find her, but she also needed someone there with her. A familiar face and not someone who just revealed they were your sister out of the blue. Her situation has changed, but Crosshair doesn’t know that. The Crosshair guilt is going to be so real in these last episodes.

Switching gears, CX agents are always a cool and interesting topic for me. While the identity of CX-2 isn’t usually as engaging, I have to say that I’ve drifted from the standpoint of “there’s no way that’s Tech” to “it’s a possibility” over the course of the last two episodes. I’ve seen some fun ideas for who it is otherwise. Personally, I think that they’re probably just another copy paste man with no autonomy anymore.

ANYHOW! I haven’t seen anyone talk about it much, but the scene with Hemlock reviewing the CX agent data and the capsule has me thinking a little harder on their creation/conditioning. The way Hemlock talks about the other operatives as well. “The others aren’t ready to join you” (paraphrasing) seems to show that after the mental conditioning through obviously brutal means, it takes a load of time to physically condition the agents. Seeing as CX-1 was most likely initiated around the same time as Crosshair (I choose to believe that they were near each other’s tables which is why they’re familiar), that took around five months to half a year. In that time span there had to be a lot of soldiers who Hemlock saw fit to be “reprogrammed” but we see very few operatives throughout. This means that if they make it out of mental conditioning, physical conditioning is most likely very dangerous and often times fatal. I’d like to draw attention to the capsules as a part of that physical conditioning. There were several capsules that Hemlock was observing, along with the foggy one that is most likely that new Huyang-lookin-ass operative. If these capsules are the final stage of physical conditioning, it adds meaning to CX-2’s first line, “Why have I been activated?” (Once again paraphrasing). Although the capsules could be for something else entirely.

Also a bit of a gripe, why in the world do you need a new secret-secret operative, Hemlock? You have the commandos, and then the first X troopers, now the CX’s, and what? You wanted a new one? I can’t tell if this man is an overachiever or just way too absorbed into the advanced trooper rabbit hole. Also for you Tech theorists, it’s kinda suspicious that he makes a new version of agents isn’t it? Almost like there’s something…deviant about him?

Completely side tracking here, I really like Phee’s awareness in the station. Yeah she didn’t hear the blaring alarm, but she was in a room where it’d be hard to hear anyways. However, when she got back she felt something was off about the ramp. We’ve seen how slick CX-2 is, so her noticing something is up was a nice touch imo. Also was very appreciative of her caution and readiness with her knife. I love when female characters get to be aware of their surroundings and ready to throw hands if things go south.

In conclusion, thank you for listening to my dump-rambling. I’ve been trying to keep my lips shut so I don’t miss tag anything and spoil it for someone (because I know that I’ll forget to tag everything right). I hope Wrecker is okay. And even if I’m not a Tech CX theorist, I have to admit that I’ve been seeing some fairly strong parallels.

Let's see I have been with The Rookie since day one, actually pre-green light. I followed Nathan after Castle and his next project and saw The Rookie get its green light. So i've been with since the literal jump. Seen all eps for sure more than once haha Think I've rewatched it least 5 times since it started. Thank you for being patient while I took the time to answer this. Life is hard to fit stuff in so thank you. It'll be a long reply lol In order to answer this properly I'm going to do top 5 with an honorable mentions that could span up to 5 cause this is hard LOL Those will be in no particular order. I'll do it for each season. Except S5. I just can't choose S5 down to a top ten.

I love that entire season. But I can do 1-4. Someday I can rank S5 on its own ranking the entire season if you like but for now it'll be this. Let me know if you'd like me to do that in the comments. But for this one Each season has something different to offer for them. So it'll be easier to break it down by season but only going up to S4. Hopefully you enjoy this detailed reply. Anyone is welcome to comment and such too.

Season 1.

1x14 Plain Clothes Day

Hands down this is my favorite episode of S1 for them. It's a very telling episode for them both. Lots of growth as well. Lucy is hell bent to prove herself to Tim. She is nervous but driven to prove to Tim she is worth investing his time in. Her day is a plethora of jitters and mistakes. Tim consistently getting under her skin and rattling her cage. Then at the last minute like a phoenix rising from the ashes Lucy makes the right call. Such a clutch moment that impresses Tim more than he'll ever let on. Doesn't hesitate for one moment checking that man's garage out.

This is a huge step towards her growth as a cop and a person really. Its seminal episode for Lucy. A stepping stone to her confidence and learning to trust her instincts and not second guess herself. For Tim it's realizing as much as he loves to mess with Lucy he wants her to succeed more. He states in the very beginning of the episode how he's had 11 rookies wash out on this day. ELEVEN. He hasn't cared if his rookies have washed out 11 times. Then Lucy Chen walked into his life. Disrupted his life in the best way.

With her incredibly driven sunshine ways he REFUSES to let her be his 12th. Does everything in his ability to keep her from being fired. They have a lot of lovely moments in this episode ranging from messing with her to fiercely protecting her from that tool-bag trying to take her job. The scene outside the captain's office where he has to re-write her eval gah so very good. Overall just an amazing episode of moments and growth for them as characters and as a ship. Another step towards their rock-solid bond.

2. 1x20 Free Fall

What's not to love about this finale? It's the culmination of everything they've been through to this point in the season. We watch how Tim instantly protects Lucy from being infected. At first he's in control of the situation (or so he thinks..) Trying to keep Lucy calm while on the inside he is panicking. Attempting to keep up his tough T.O. act with her. Determined to show Lucy he's bulletproof no matter the situation. That quickly begins the devolve the longer he is in that room.

The more he has to deal with this disease alone the worse it gets. We get a front row seat into protective Lucy. The way she is losing it for Tim on the outside. Doing anything and everything to get him out of there. This is the first time we get to see Tim trust Lucy emotionally and not hesitate. Not only that but so openly. She has been knocking on the door of this all season.

The scene above is her reward for all that work. The role reversal that happens here is wonderful. Where Lucy becomes the rock. The one to comfort him while Tim is battling with his dark thoughts of suicide if this goes sideways. Trusting her enough to tell her such deep thoughts. Lucy guiding him through those emotions best she can. It's a fantastic way to end the season for them. Lots of earned moments in this one.

3. 1x11 Redwood

Our first Iconic OTP Line Episode. This is where we start to see Tim soften for Lucy. Those sharp edges dulling a bit. We get to watch how he knows exactly how to calm her when she is in a panic. Tim commands this entire episode for her. Distracting her from the moment that needle goes in to chewing out the nurse for not prioritizing her. It was our first glimpse into protective Tim and I was here for it. Excellent introduction to this side of him regarding Lucy. Does the Tim Bradford special where he tells her like it is while showing empathy.

The first time we get to see him care truly care and let her know that he's there. Has her back in a way no one really has before. Lucy is watching her career go down the drain in her eyes. Changing her life forever and is in panic city. Tim doesn't let her be a resident there for very long. This ep showcases how amazing he is at his job and how good Tim is with Lucy. Knows exactly what to do in order to keep her sane.

He spends his entire day distracting her and showing empathy in the process. Ultimately stopping her from going off the razor's edge. It's these moments she has with Tim that shift her POV of him. Why she fights for him like she does. Lucy knows the good heart this man has. That he cares about her as person. That she is more than just his rookie. It's so very good. Producing the line above. *sigh*

4. 1x07 The Ride Along

These early episode are what I like to call building block eps. The foundation that is laid in these are so important. It's Lucy showing up for Tim when he needs it most. Their relationship is in its infancy in these episodes. Being molded into what we see in the finale and honestly the future. Lucy noticing a serious wrong (Isabel taking advantage of Tim's deep loyalty) Not only noticing but not letting him throw his life/career away for it. The line above is EVERYTHING. She refuses to let Tim cross an ocean and compromise his soul for someone who wouldn't cross a puddle for him. The bravery it took for her take a stand I'll always commend her for. How scary it must've been for her to confront him like this. When he was still in his radioactive insanely damaged phase. Tim already meant more to her at this point than she expected. She couldn't stand back and watch him self-destruct for someone who didn't deserve it. Tim is not even close to being used to someone showing up for him like this at this point. It's so very foreign to him.

Not only that but someone putting him in place and knocking sense back into him. Something he comes to learn and love about Lucy. Becomes the fabric of their dynamic really. In the moment he's so angry with her but long term forever grateful she stepped in like she did. That crack in his wall starting to grow a little more. A defining moment for them early on in this season. They had me hook line and sinker after this. I was already low-key shipping them but this added to it.

5. 1x03 The Good The Bad and the Ugly

Another building block episode. A crucial one for them really. I love how their early episodes set them up beautifully for the rest of the season. If not for these episodes you wouldn't see how wonderful the growth is for them both. The episodes that'll be in my honorable mentions are the fruit of these. Because without seeing where they came from how could we deeply appreciate how far they've come? Tim is imploding at a high velocity in this episode. Doesn't care about the collateral damage either. At this point that damage radius includes Lucy.

We truly see Tim as his very worst in the beginning. The beautiful thing is Lucy see's past his hurt into who he is as a person. He is worth getting through to. Also she also see's he is a god damn dumpster fire. One that if she doesn't put him out he's going to take her down with him. You know Tim respects the hell out of her for the scene above. (Not in the moment but in the long term of it all.)

For standing up to him and showing him how selfish he was being. It's what earns her that wonderful scene in the shop afterwards. Where he opens up and tells her about Isabel and a little bit of their history. His way of thanking her for getting his head on straight. Their early stuff is so raw but so good. They're learning how to function together. Usually one of them leading the other more depending on the situation. Start of their wonderful dynamic.

Honorable mentions-Ones I wanted to include cause they're amazing but can only gif the top 5 and one mention ha So it'll be my top ten for each season. They have so many good eps.

1x18 Home Front

So much to love about this one. Lucy busting his chops the entire ep. Get our first glimpse into their playful work flirts. Her challenging him on his personal life and not work for the first time. Standing her ground in that opinion. Like she does best with him. Telling Tim he needs something other than work. Naturally is defensive at first and eventually caves in. It results in the cute paintball moment above we all know and love.

1x19-Checklist-We get another glimpse into what Tim is willing to do to keep Lucy from washing out. I love this episode and how we start to see Tim trust in her decision making skills. Like the woman with the swapped plates. She lets her go and it ends up working out for her. The final scene is the best where he logs OT for her to continue on in the program. Lucy feeling so supported with this gesture. *heart clutch* So good.

1x16 Green light- Our first look into how protective Lucy can be about Tim. Their rank be damned in her opinion. The way she protects and defends him to Detective Murphy is glorious. Not caring she's her superior officer. She is kicking him when he is already down and Lucy won't stand for it. Then Tim returns the favor when she's upset about catching Cole. ‘Grief is grief. It’s a hole that can’t be filled. But over time, it’ll shrink enough so that you won’t fall in every time you take a step.’ His growth in this line is amazing to watch unfold. How he has grown since his whole debacle with Isabel.

1x15-Man Hunt.- We see some more fruit of Lucy's impact on Tim. Him wanting to do more with his career. He decides to go for Sergeant and we all know she is part of that reason. Also we get a glimpse into Tim and his rookie days through Deacon and his 54 connection. Lucy is delighted to get a birds eye view to his past. It's the scene where they're defending the escaped prisoner that's the best. Saying how he refuses to do something he will be ashamed in the light of day. This moment being proof Lucy's impact on him from 1x07. Its beautifully full circle.

1x01 Pilot-Gotta include the pilot. It's what set the table for them. "Officer Bradford gets our hot shot." He sure does. Getting a look into them as characters and where they start off from. It's what hooked me to this show to begin with. Other than just my love for Eric and Nathan at the time lol I saw deep characters with so much potential and I've been hooked ever since.

Season 2. Has an unreal amount of good eps for them did my best to keep it to ten.

2x11 Day of Death

Naturally this iconic episode is my favorite of S2. How could it not be? This is a massively seminal moment in their history. It's where they go from border-line friends to bonded in a way no one else will ever understand. We watch Lucy fight tooth and nail to stay alive. She is so resilient because she knows Tim is on his way. He won't let her die. Won't Let Caleb win. Her immense amount of faith is beautiful. Knowing that he will get to her in time. Not a doubt in her mind.

We watch Tim race against the clock to rescue her. The pressure and anxiety mounting through out the entire episode for him. Like a weight on his soul he refuses to put down until she is back. We get to witness how much Tim has come to care about Lucy. See the depth's he will go to get her back safely. Also get to see a darker side to him. Which I wasn't totally opposed to seeing in order to get to her. (and wouldn't mind seeing again. tbh) 'Today is your day of reckoning. I am responsible for a life that is in jeopardy, and I will do whatever I have to, to save her.' *fans self* That man is on edge from the moment she goes missing till she is in his arms above.

First actual relaxing breath he takes the entire ep. You see how his body slumps against her in relief as he holds her. How deeply worried he was and won't let her out of his sight afterwards. We all know that man slept at the hospital all night and didn't take his eyes off her until she woke up. To make sure he was the first face she saw. That final scene in the hospital a beautiful look into the deep bond they've formed at this point. I love them sfm. Where we get our next Iconic OTP Line. 'You know me so well. Too Well.' Amongst a flurry of heart eyes and emotions.

2. 2x12 Now and Then

What I love the most about this episode is how Tim steps back. Let's her get taken care of by someone other than himself. Control Freak Tim Bradford hands the reins over. Because her recovering is more important than his ego. The growth I can not. He see's a blind spot within himself that he can not help out with. So he heeds Nyla's words when she approaches him about taking her on. He watches anxiously from afar wanting not to over step the entire episode.

Lucy is hurt he doesn't let her ride with him right away. She is confused and her emotions are all over the place in this episode. Rightfully so. We get to see once again how much Tim cares about her. The way he's asking everyone around her how she is. Even asks Nolan how she is really doing. You know that was hard for him to do. We get to the end of the episode and this glorious scene above. Tim sharing a piece of his past to heal her present.

You can tell he so desperately wants to take on some of her pain. That if he could he would. Still shouldering the weight of her being taken being on him. Trying to give her some hard won perspective. This is his way of saying he's so proud of her, he misses her, hoping him sharing his past brings her back to him. Brings Lucy back to being his sunshine human. Not the angry resentful one he see's in front of him. It's a beautiful scene for the both of them. The sweet smiles when he tosses back the ring. My damn heart.

3. 2x13 Follow Up Day

Another Iconic moment in S2. This season is full of them. Ground breaking moments that drive them forward as a ship. He's passed his Sergeants exam. Hooray. Lucy is SO DAMN PROUD when they get the news. It's the thing he's been working toward since the beginning of S2. He's offered a Hollywood post. One that he can have quickly. A prominent position for him right out the gate and yet he hesitates. Why you ask? Well he's a little too attached to his current rookie that he pretends he isn't attached to. (While dating her best friend might I add. Something I would forget regularly in this season)

Lucy reminds him why he wants to stay around and not leave yet. She challenges him, supports him and believes in Tim in a way he's never had before. Has unwavering faith in him. He says he's not done training her yet. When really he's not ready to let go of the influence she's had on his life. Heart eyes galore. She is more important than moving up atm. I love it.

4. 2x02 The Night General

The beginning of Tim's quest to study for being a Sergeant. It starts off as Tim torturing Lucy with reading his out of print book to him. What starts out as him enjoying making her read it turns into so much more. Lucy quickly turns it around on him. Because well Lucy. Decides on specific segments to have him recite back. Quickly annoying him and he loses this game fairly quickly. It's during this studying we find out Tim learns a certain way. That he must be in motion to absorb the material. (Me too love) He doesn't take this news in stride very well because it's Tim.

Lucy goes above and beyond to apologize for upsetting him. She spends what I assume is any free time between shifts recording the book for him. Not only does she do this she reassures him that it's ok to learn this way. There is no shame in it even compliments him because of it. Telling him its why he excels at being a cop. I

I just adore this moment so much because she builds him up and encourages him. Never once letting him feel shame for how he learns. Lucy taking care of him in ways Tim can't even comprehend atm. He is overwhelmed by her support and empathy. Can only muster a really loaded 'Thanks.' Such a lovely building block for them. Also welcome to the sweaty gun show above *fans self*

5. 2x08 Clean Cut

Ahh the protective Lucy episode. We get to see how far Tim will go for Lucy in this season. The audience also gets to see how far Lucy is willing to go to protect and defend Tim. Just like in 1x16 she charges head long at a superior to defend Tim. Refusing to let anyone sully his name or character. From the moment their shop hits that woman's car she goes into 'Protect Tim mode.' at all costs.

Hell raining down on anyone who gets in the way of her clearing his name. Eating anyone trying to stop her from righting this wrong she KNOWS is a wrong against him. Tim is so defeated and resigned after it happens. He's not going to defend himself so Lucy takes it on herself to do this. The ferocity is noticed by Tim. Why he lets her lead the questioning against the shady BF.

Lucy breathes life back into him that they could overturn this. That unshakeable faith she has in him. Refusing to let him give up on himself. It's the way she builds him up and won't let him think any less of himself I adore so much. After it's reversed and he gets his award she's a proud wifey. Even throwing back his own words at him when he thanks her. Eyes full of love. It's fantastic full circle moment for them.

Honorable Mentions

2x19-Q Word

As I've said earlier S2 is chock full of goodies. Tim learning the place he still holds in Lucy's life. He is her GO TO. A place he thought he had lost in 2x11. He gave up having that spot in her life because he no longer felt worthy of it. That he was given his shot and he blew it. Lucy not for one damn second thought he forfeited that. She was more upset he wasn't engaging with her about this than anything else.

Lucy does her best to relieve him of his burden. Of the guilt he continues to feel. To let him know it was NOT his fault. That his opinion is one of most value to her. The very opposite of what Tim thought of his place in her world. It's a good episode. One of the best parts above. Lucy applying some salve to his guilty soul.

2x06 Fallout

Lots to love in this ep. Tim trying and failing at 'being nice' to Lucy while she goes through her emotions about her ex. To him tapping into his actual soft side for her. The genuine side. Them facing a bomb threat and Lucy getting to unleash all her anger about her ex's wedding Such a good scene.. With a little of Lucy throwing his words back like no one else can. Lastly ending with them deciding to spend their last moments on earth together drinking booze. Damn good ep.

2x10-The Dark Side

Ahhh the pre-DOD episode. Where Tim spends the entire episode being over protective of Lucy and not sure why he is. All he knows is he doesn't like this guy sniffing around her. His cop gut screaming at him with a mixture of jealously and actual worry. The whole episode is one giant foreshadowing for the following episode.

2x14 Casualties

Tim background eps are always my jam. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this man and learning of his history. Getting a little look into his life in the service with Mitch. Also the intro of their fur-baby Kojo and how very unready Lucy is to care for him. We get our next Iconic OTP line 'Some things matter more.' A moment which is such a prominent scene for them. Good precursor to the moment they share in 2x19 as well.

2x01 impact

The premiere got some real good stuff. We see how Tim reacts so very poorly to Lucy protecting him. Regressing them both with his flour bomb moment. HIs anger coming out in everything he does with her in this episode. Lucy taking it at first then reaches her boiling point towards the end. Basically hands him his ass in a way only Lucy Chen can. It's glorious. Turns him around so much he brags on her to Grey later on about her jump after a suspect. 'Of course she did. I trained her.'

Season 3

3x09 Amber

Ahh my fav ep of the season. This episode has so many good moments. Lucy with her list for a 'healthy parting.' How she is determined to make her last day a big deal with Tim. Where as Tim is also determined, just in the opposite direction. Because if he talks about it he's going to have to face her leaving. Which we all know he does not want to do. Fights her on it most of the episode. Until something serious happens. Then Tim finally gives in to distract Lucy from the stressful baby scenario they're currently in.

Takes care of her by letting her do the bloody list he's trying to avoid. They have a lovely moment of reminiscing over Plain Clothes Day. How far Lucy has come since that moment. The amount of confidence she had gained. Learning to trust her instincts fully. Something Tim saw in her day one and wanted her to hone in on. Lucy then brings up UC and Tim saying she doesn't have what it takes. it leads into the most iconic moment of the episode. Where she "pretends" to have feelings for Tim.

Sending Tim into an ABSOLUTE panic till she can't take it anymore and breaks into pure laughter. Wounding his pride severely in the process of proving her point. We get two epic moments in this episode. The parking garage scene is lovely. A culmination of the last year of so. How far they've both come. His last eval being one that brings them full circle. Lucy's flour bomb finishing off the nostalgia. The heart eyes galore in this scene and its topped off with them calling each other by their first names. Starting a new chapter with this wonderful moment.

2. 3x14 Threshold

I LOVE this episode so much. It's why it's number 2. This episode is the culmination of Lucy's fast track UC training with Harper. Lucy chomping at the bit to prove herself. A VERY anxious Tim observing from the outside. The flirty flirt we get in the car makes me squee every time. Little bit of Tim and Lucy truly coming out in that moment. The touching is everything as she communicates silently with him about what's going on.

Then we get this moment above. Where they are blatantly flirting and checking each other out. Especially Tim. Man could not be more transparent in his attraction to Lucy at this point. The elevator gaze before they even talk. *fans self* Shameless flirting, praise from Tim and to top it off Tim is the one to ask Lucy to save him a dance. I remember going out of my mind with excitement when I saw this episode. Look at them above. My god the UST in immense and I love it so very much.

3. 3x06 Revelations

The episode where Lucy begins her interest in UC. It's a ROUGH episode for Tim for a lot of reasons. From his PTSD about Isabel with Mack showing up to seeing Lucy put in harms way. We see the protective side come out fiercely in this one. He doesn't even try to tamp it down. Especially in front of others. i.e. the entire OP room LOL Tim battling past demons and losing terribly. Seeing his favorite human put at risk isn't sitting well with him. His panic at losing her or possibly getting hurt making him lose his mind.

Lucy just wanting him to be proud of her. For showing an interest outside of patrol. To be excited she got put on an OP because she kicked ass on the fly. Impressed Harper enough to green light her. His approval and opinion meaning the entire world to her. When he doesn't she is so very discouraged. That's what makes the moment above so important and amazing. Tim putting aside those demons and letting her have that approval and praise she earned ten times over. Because at the end of the day this OP was about her and not him. So he puts her first with the lovely moment above.

4. 3x11 New Blood

Where we see Lucy be utterly CONSUMED by jealously and insecurities. Tim gets his new rookie and Lucy is excited at first. Then see's Tim isn't treating her anywhere near how she was treated in the beginning. He's being nice, letting her drive, buying her coffee, being soft and empathetic. All things she had to drag out of him kicking and screaming. I've said this before but Tim was her first real 'puppy' with massive success. It was a lot of work though for her to have the relationship she has with him now.

Then this Katie Barnes comes in and gets it all in one shift. Lucy is losing her damn mind most of the ep. Watching from afar with massive jealously. Poor Jackson has to listen to it most of his shift LOL Comes with the bestie territory though. By the end of the episode she see's Tim filling out her paperwork and lets Tim have it. What I love is he doesn't get mad at her for it.

Doesn't reprimand her just quell's her insecurities. Explaining why he was training Barnes the way he was. Then seals the scene with the lovely line above. Lucy is absolutely beaming when he walks away. Full of so much joy and happiness she can't contain herself. He thinks she is one of the best rookie's he's trained and lets her know it. Saying maybe one day Katie could be as good as her. *sigh* So good.

5. 3x01 Consequences

Their first marriage episode of the season. Where Lucy is on Tim like white on rice. Her confidence and self esteem shines through out this season and this is the starter episode of it all. The way they go through Nolan's house together is fantastic. She challenges Tim the entire time with her own cop gut. It's so fun to watch the back and forth.

They go from cute banter to Tim being a fierce protector when they have to go see Rosalind. Tim tries to prevent her from going in. Wanting to shield her from this monster. Lucy refuses says she can handle it. Rosalind just see's someone she can play with. Tim attempts to hold back. Not interfere and tries to keep Lucy steady. Then loses it when she taunts Lucy with her barrel song. The official title of 'Fierce protector.' is born in this moment. Such a good episode for them beginning to end.

Honorable Mentions

3x02 In-Justice

I adore this ep because it is one giant flirting session. The scene above alone is proof of that. Tim just sitting back and enjoying the Lucy show. Setting up a game he knows she is going to absolutely crush. (and does) They're legit flirting in front of their call for like two minutes before they disengage and Lucy works her magic. Also we get to see how soft Tim is for Lucy and gone for her with her car. Telling her to get over until Caleb PTSD in brought into the picture. It's then he caves instantly. Also the introduction of their pseudo daughter Tamara. Lucy's 'puppy.'

3x04-Sabotage

The fruit of the last couple eps coming to fruition. Lucy having Tim revisit something he did on her first shift. Confronting him about how he treated those gardeners. Not only that but the impact he had on them through his actions. This brings Tim's defenses immediately up and he snaps at her. Trying to defend his actions because he is feeling defensive. He does a poor job of it and shuts down completely. Reason being he's ashamed of who he was then and Lucy bringing it up hurts in a way he wasn't expecting.

We get to see our boy go through some serious growth. MASSIVE growth really. I could not be prouder of him for it. For not shutting down for the rest of the day. Letting Lucy know he was wrong and what he can do so it never happens again. Love this ep for the Tim growth, Lucy calling him out and letting him know how proud she is of him. It's such a good moment/ep for them.

3x07 True Crime

I personally LOVE the documentary episodes so much. The reason being their banter is the best part. Their chemistry is on full display for all to see. Lucy owns Tim's ass in this one. Shoots down all his cocky comments. He is also all heart eyes whenever she isn't crushing him with her words ahha. Light hearted fun ep for them.

3x08 Bad Blood

Good ep for Tim telling her like it is when he's trying to avoid it like the plague haha Emmett breaking up with her over text. Lucy doesn't handle it well. She self destructs till Tim does what he does best and gives her some solid perspective. Helping her finally solve the 'Why' behind her break up.

3x05 Lockdown

Tim and Lucy being a united front against Doug is the absolute best. How Tim comes tearing into the station after Stanton and Lucy has to stop him. Then Stanton is an extra ass and Tim then has to prevent Lucy from hurting him. The way they have each other's backs always gets to me. They spend the entire episode this kick ass duo determined to protect Jackson. I love it sfm.

Season 4 another super hard one for me but top ten helped.

4x09 Breakdown

I'm sure some of you thought I would choose 4x22. It follows this one pretty closely but I ADORE this episode. It's my favorite for so many reasons. Lucy has a day off and how does she spend it? With Tim and his sister redoing his childhood home. Totally normal 'Friend' status there. Nothing soulmate level about that at all....Then they spend the episode chasing down his father's sordid past. This is due to a gun they find in the wall. Not only that but how heavily Tim leans on Lucy during the process.

Let's her take the lead and trusts her to handle portions of it for him. Like interrogating his dad's former mistress. Then we get this GLORIOUS scene above. Hands down my favorite hug of their's. Tim confronting his father and walking out feeling nuclear in his emotions. He is radioactive from that interaction and so very hurt. He explains what his father did to Lucy. He's so disgusted and hurt.

Then he is NEEDING Lucy to know he isn't his father. That the Tim tests don't make him like his dad. He is on the verge of tears as he says this to her. The most vulnerable we have ever seen Tim in general but especially with her. Lucy jumping into action and gathering him up in her arms. Comforting him, letting him know he is NOTHING like him. Tim sinks into the hug. Wraps himself entirely around her. Letting her hold him up emotionally. It's here we see the last of his wall crumble to the ground never to be rebuilt again. This was the ep I knew we were headed towards them getting together. All time fav ep.

2. 4x22 Day in The Hole

So much to love in this episode. From their daughter getting her ‘first’ car to finding Tim's bizzaro world double 'Dim' LOL Also the introduction of Juicy aha It's so good I can not. Lucy getting beyond excited to get Tim all dressed up for his UC mission. Especially with the tattoo's. Then when Juicy gets involved so does Lucy. It's AU Tim and Lucy and I was dying. Lucy breaks his brain in more ways than one above. The way she stuns him with her UC background for their characters LMAO He stumbles on his words and shifts like his pants are getting little tight for him heh. They haven't even kissed yet.

It will forever crack me up his reaction. Also the hilarious lead up to the kiss. How nervous and awkward they are. 'Well that's romantic....I wasn't trying to be romantic.' LMFAO. Clearly Timothy.... Eric and Melissa's chemistry on full display in this moment. Then the way Lucy just grabs his face and the kiss above happens. How they instantly melt into each other. Like why haven't we been doing this the entire time? You can see Tim ready to seriously deepen the kiss above. The pre-tongue action going on. Hot damn. I remember having to rewind it making sure what I was seeing was real.

The hilarity that ensures when Tamara walks in is so so funny. Never not cackle at this. Lucy's 'Oh!' and Tim is stumbling over himself to get out of there. Makes me laugh just writing it. The awkward 'Good jobs' and pointing. I'm dying. Tim's epiphany in the hallway is the best. Can no longer run from how he feels anymore. That kiss unlocking why he's felt the way he does. The awkward way they interact at the station. Both hiding in their vehicles waiting to find the courage to come out. Gah such a good finale leading to an incredible season 5.

3. 4x12 The Knock

Another episode on the road to them ending up together. They are at soulmate level territory in the scene above alone. The entire episode is fantastic. 'Personal space I don't know her' is the theme of this episode for them. From this 'date' to their case. Where Tim lets her take the lead. They're right on top of each other in that hallway scene when Tim is asking her POV on what they should do.

The beach date is one of the best parts. I don't know how both Ashley and Chris didn't just get up and leave. It's so obvious Tim and Lucy are the ones on a date. Chris and Ashley just happen to be there. The way they flirt the entire time, the inside jokes, the way they know each other so deeply. Their intimate connection on full display.

It's the lack of space I adore so much. That magnetic pull of their's. Never be over Gerald the goat. The way they lovingly stare at each other after he's told the story. The only ones laughing are them. To think either of them (Chris and Ashley) actually thought they had a chance against their bond. Such fools. I would've been highly threatened after that display. Something so intimate about knowing someone on an emotional level like they do. Height of their soulmate moments in this one.

4. 4x18-Backstabbers

Gah this episode be still my damn shipper heart. Lucy getting annoyed she isn't getting any recognition as Tim's aide. Naturally at first Tim pushes against it. Gives her crap for asking for it. Little bit of Old school Tim coming out in this scenario. But we see by the end of the episode him cracking for her. Like he always does. Tim cashing in on the dance he owed her from 3x14. How these two don't know they're in love at this point I couldn't tell you. Blows my damn mind.

The fact that he gives up recognition for her to have it. To further her career and telling her he wants her to be successful? Gah not to mention the heart eyes in this moment. Lucy is beaming brightly like a Christmas tree at this gesture. Tim is so so gone for her by this point it's oozing out of him. If you watched these two above with no context you'd think they were together. Everything about them says how in love they are. The entire scene is one giant I love you/in love with you moment. Tim I don't do weddings Bradford tearing up the dance floor with his girl. Gah I can not.

5. 4x01-Life and Death

The premiere is so very very good. Tim offering her a safe space the moment they get some time alone. Especially after hearing how heartbroken she is. How she can't go back to her apt without Jackson right now. The way he gives her a safe place to crash land into. I love it sfm. Then we get the gloriously intimate and beautiful hug above. The one that sparks the flame between them. One they've been trying to keep at a low flame roaring into an inferno. Their emotions and closeness ramping it up to a level neither is ready for.

The chemistry in this moment is out of this world good. Both being smacked in the face with the growing UST between them. Lucy going for it but it being shot down by Wesley's call. Gah such a good way to start an amazing season. Then Lucy spends the rest of the episode worrying about him from the other side of the world. Letting him know that worry until he makes it back. Such a good premiere.

Honorable Mentions

4x07 Fire Fight

This scene alone is why it's my first honorable mention. Phew lord. The fiery UST in this scene. HOT DAMN. The brazen way they're both looking at each other. This is totally platonic friendship right here....The intense gaze gets me in my shipper feels. Then Tim gets his wits about him a bit before sassing her. Telling her the mic is too high. Her ripping it right off and his face LOL They're so married it kills me. I do love the way she bosses him around in this scene and afterwards when he's in the car. She's projecting jealously entire time.

4x06 Poetic Justice

Oh you know just another episode where all they do is compete and flirt. Not caring about anyone else around them while they do so. Because they can't handle their emotions yet. So they intensely channel it into flirting and competitive things instead. I love these idiots so much.

4x08 -Hit and Run

I LOVE this episode for the Tim background alone. We get the introduction of his sister Genny. Who I love sfm. Lucy of course eats up her being there. She THRIVES on any morsel of info she can get on his background. Lucy is enjoying herself till his dark childhood is brought up. His sister is there to sell their childhood home and he doesn't want to be apart of it. ""Wha-what do you want? Some other family to just cuddle up under the broken plaster where dad slammed my head against the wall?" Ugh my heart. My boy. But it's such a good episode in full for Tim. Also for Lucy getting to meet his sister.

4x14-The Long Shot

This is a great episode for Lucy. We get to see more about her background as well. Finally finding out why her mother is the way she is with her. Her deep digging revealing her father isn't her real father. How much she struggles in this episode emotionally. We get to see how natural it is for Tim to be there for her. Not an ounce of fight left in him to stay out of her personal life. This is just part of who they are now and it's such growth I can not stand it.

4x16-Real Crime

Another gem for the documentary series. If you think they were married in this last one they double down on this one. The amount of cuteness, sass and marriage moments is primo in this one. 'Can I be interviewed alone?' LMAO The epitome of Grumpy x Sunshine. Lucy having the time of her life while Tim is a grumpsaurous. Their dynamic gives me life haha I adore this entire episode for them.

S5 I adore all it's own. If you want a ranking from 1-22 I can do that but I can not choose. Hurts me too much to do that LOL but here are my picks for 1-4. Once again thank you for being so patient on my reply. This was a hefty ask to answer thank you for asking me :) I hope you enjoy the answer.

Ch 109: Random thoughts (part 2)

The amount of cuteness! What a harmless kitty! Does he look like a criminal to you? He is so innocent! He is no criminal! Such innocent face hadn't and won't ever comment one single wrong thing in his life! ♪

Look at him. Little mew mew. That's what I call the guy who is really truthful and says whatever he has in mind. A guy with no secrets as he puts it. ☆ you're keeping some huge facts to yourself still, am I wrong? Should we 'question' them to get an answer?

The 2's reaction though... it's so funny.

Wow. So now it's not only Tsukasa who made some kind of Akane expression but Hanako too.

Tsukasa's words about his assistant...

I wonder if Nene caught any meaning behind it? Her wish stands in sharp contrast with sakura's wish? For sakura's wish to come true, her own wish of living is no more? For her wish of staying alive, sakura's wish is no more?

Would she recall a thing of this sort?

And question her fast made 'wrong' conclusion of their 'talk'.

I will have hope she would. She won't forget it like she forgot Tsukasa is a yorishiro and didn't recall it or thought of the fact one day it will be his turn when he took her to destroy No.1's OR that moment Tsukasa said he needs the yorishiro destroyed for sakura's wish to come true. at least think of your own life span 'wish' Nene.

It feels kind of funny when I see something like 'Tsukasa goes all the way when he works on granting a wish'. That's true but... it's not like what he is doing there is only for her sake. He said a part of the truth but didn't voice it all. That's the catch. He has his 'own' motive out of doing what he has been doing so far.

Speaking a bit further into it, neither Hanako (now or ch 96) nor the keepers (Teru being a Minamoto for that matter, who knows lots of secrets behind the school) paid real attention to sakura being mentioned, unlike No. 6. I wonder if that means she is directly involved with appointing 'him' as a mystery only? Or if she has some kind of past interaction with him or him case in a way since she is aware of his story with Sumire and was the one in charge from behind the scenes of the No.6 yorishiro situation.

It feels the other mysteries don't hold any ties with her ruling over them or whatever or even know her? And having Tsukasa mentioning her, he must have known better than to do that if it will attract unnecessary attention for a one in her 'position'. Hmm....

This thing... uhhh... this boy... this boy... this boy... he gives me lots of work. ♡ 3-2-1... let's go...

Have to say... Tsukasa's deal with the clock had me laughing a lot... it feels like he hates it... or even... it feels more like despise really. He wants the clock to be blown to smithereens. Wooh! Maybe since it gave both him and especially Amane a hard time.

We can start with a yorishiro destruction, leading to a brilliant boundary 'falling apart' wonder if he is curious to see what will happen once he is destroyed with Hanako's boundary

So while Amane was trying to fix the clock he was thinking: how would it look when it's destroyed into tiny pieces? Showing that almighty face? ♡ ........

Following that line of thought, I can understand Tsukasa in this issue but...

The thing I wonder about now with Tsu-clock relationship, is apparently his want to have Nene using it to time travel. Why did he tell her about the usage of the clock when he wanted it destoryed even since back then? What did he want to accomplish in there? Nothing was shown to be done on that regard. And... I think he really might not actually care much to use the clock to have Nene time travel, he has the nowhere space under his command and already used it to make Nene do so. So... the clock is not really needed! Expanding the image a little bit... the 'clock' keepers...

Perhaps he has a thing against them themselves. I wonder what they may have done to get him to feel that way...

Seriously, Amane's whole deal with the clock (and maybe 'deal' with the keepers themselves?) is ....... I still can't get rid of what Tsu said to Nene about the future and past blending together in that festival. So... what if Amane got to actually 'do' something, resulting in what Tsukasa talked about, yet the keepers 'kaku' turned back time anyway and made whatever he did go to waste? Or maybe something across these lines... something serious happened back in time, right?

It makes sense. He despises this unfair word and sees it not needed, so whatever factor to keep it up and support it is equally unworthy, unneeded.

A world that holds people back from doing what they want and to be who they are with its unfair rules is better off broken. Especially, when it's a matter of a person who means the world itself to him.

In this case a world let's say. Hmm, who loves fireworks? I hope he'll be getting the fireworks he must be waiting to see. ~ if we were to assume the world will get 'destroyed' in the literal meaning creating such a 'view'.

Speaking of Tsukasa's wants to do/see things... this arc has some nice stuff included...

He fantasized about creating an artificial human ever since he was a child and got to see it as 12 y.o Tsu even before creating it, and granted created him in the future as yorishiro Tsukasa. Same goes for the clock, 12 y.o was interested to see it destroyed and granted got that as yorishiro Tsu. I wonder if back in the time he was still 12 y.o Tsukasa he also got to see/know the clock will be broken in the future some way or another like he came to see Mit 2.0 (let's take the glimpses of the future he told Nene about as a possibility). Maybe it was yorishiro Tsukasa instead who knew the clock will be destroyed in the near future...? This boy has some further knowledge into things so I like to keep that in mind. ☆

I do wonder if he has any other things he looks forward to in mind. Amaze me, Tsu. ~

Ahem, back to the 'court'...

So, the keepers made the judgment of having Tsukasa to be 'guilty'. For real? Only Tsukasa is guilty? What a funny court, what an idiotic court. Why aren't they so smart? Seriously, I was hoping to see the keepers much smarter than this! Like, just simply, the 4 guys in there, NONE of them actually made the action of breaking the clock, yet... the guy who did it is... apparently not guilty, nor the one who led Tsukasa and the guy to do it in the first place. What a joke of a court. So, the table turning on them at the end is a well-deserved result. Kinda funny, it felt as if the whole 'order in court' and the court itself... was never 'ruled' by them at all but actually 'him'. He left things go by assumingly as they want but he was just waiting for the moment to turn the table upside down. How sly of him. He is truly something, huh? No wonder he was having fun at the start of the chapter. What a force he is.~

Their suggestions feel to represent some stuff, actually... Akane.. 'feeding'. Just imagining how powerful these owls would get out of it. XD

Kaku... well...

WOW, Tsukasa! Do you plan to put Kaku to use somehow? lol wonder if kaku regretted his last words like no. 3

Cool to see this thing referenced once more in a way. I'm so weak to this sly smirk Tsuuu!!! The confident gaze!!! Uhh!!!

Wonder how was Amane feeling in there. I mean, sheesh. I wonder if he himself wanted to go wild on the keepers. Seriously? You don't know who you're saying you want to feed to the owls or turn into a gear or turn to dust. That's his moon and yorishiro mind you. How dare you say such things and intend to harm his precious prize possession.

My, cool Tsu is something to get me... she came to him by herself. Now, I think that's what I call one great mastermind, 'ruler' and the master of his 'games'. He played with them all and made them his puppets, that's so funny. He targeted their clock, yorishiro, then them from the start. ♪ He already had things figured out, everything was held in the balm of his hand. ☆

I mean, I have to say I've been wondering how will he take things after ch 108, but here we are.

Depending on Tsukasa's words after taking Kaku down, I have to say he proved his nimbleness, and being one intelligent strategist. ☆

It sees he had 'targeting the keepers' in mind for some time, and was waiting to take action, and little Mirai gave him the opening he needed. ☆

I wonder when that came to his mind, after singing with Nene, he wanted to go back to searching and was annoyed with Mirai's tickings. He got captured, then assumingly had to get 'free' with Nene's help and later Hanako's. Here I will stop, was he acting all along to be 'weak' by any chance?

Let's see... Mirai's 'seal' doesn't hold anything on him, it's either it doesn't affect him at all or it did, yet he can break free whenever he wants but 'decided' to look weak. So, he was acting or pretending to be vulnerable. Was he testing if Amane would come to save him by any chance? Was he going to actually save himself and Nene if that didn't happen? He let Hanako get captured just like that so his plan will succeed wizard Tsu vibes I'm telling you, what a mischievous lil bro. hehe oh... if he let Hanako get captured too so it would look like a small game of you didn't free me so I didn't help you. we're alike in the situation! pffft. what a fun soul

He can use Kokujoudai, and can master his OP strength. What a lie you told Nene Tsu. It can still be the truth, at that moment he was under the effect of the seal for real, but in the court he simply broke free. Anyway, some slyness lies in there. Even Nene is not supposed to know he is not actually 'weak'. How careful. He doesn't show anything to you, unpredictable. Always this way with his plans. The inside of his head. ~~~~ So Tsukasa, huh? ♡ ~

Now I know why. You amazing boy, you only give up limited access into what's inside of your head. No one gets you better than yourself. Me and myself.~~~

Cause you're not smart enough to catch up with his level of smartness. Try harder to understand him and how his mind works you self-proclaimed I read minds girl. ~ I will have to give him an extra point if what she said has a sense of truth and even with such powers, she can't read into him. Admirable. ☆

In the meanwhile, I'm siding with this guy! ♪

Going back to the chapter... I'm laughing Hanako really didn't need to set Tsukasa free. He can take care of it himself. Even without his sly move of making little Mirai move the time of his handcuffs forward. He will get what he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants. ♪

Hmm, he is admirable. Fascinating. Who doesn't love a mind like his, or a smile like his? Or even some strong gaze like his? We have a guy so capable and full of himself right there. Love his fast way of acting and dazzling confidence! Easy on me, Tsu! ♡ ♡ ♡ speaking of his physical speed again, I will have to remind myself he still had that thing around his ankle. and that by itself is...

Uhh, fangs... his sweet sweet fangs... sly smirk... boy!!! ♡ goodness, past + present Tsu will seriously have me spinning around myself. Hey! Don't look like you're working together to me! I can't survive one, how about 2?!

Thinking that Yako is a foxie... between her and Tsu... who is the real fox? ♪ it's funny thinking the fox took her down first, now.

Funny, Tsu showed me all the animals I associate him with in one chapter. first a cat, then a fox and later a powerful unmerciful tiger never to be underestimated or messed with. Wow. ☆

Hmm, he still kept his words of 'gentle with girls' huh? Even though she wasn't 'gentle' with him now or even back then, he didn't harm her really. Just had koku hold her. Wonder if that will keep up once he turns his focus to look for the yorishiro in her.

As for Kako, I dooo wonder if he previously intended to start with him, moving time back will be annoying. And, just maybe... a payment for embarrassing and making jokes of big bro earlier? Or again... is there a chance Tsukasa despised not only the clock but the keepers on a personal level in the past (and now)? Hmm...

Hanako's shout to Tsu to stop, I wonder if it was out of his fear for Tsu's well-being and safety or actually the other way around, he somehow saw what happened with No.3 coming and shouted at him to stop. He knows how powerful Tsu is, right? Looking at it either way is cool, one he sees Tsu powerful, the other he is concerned about the safety of his precious Tsu. ♪

Tsu being 'impossible to control'... I find that chaaaarming about him! He is free-willed! A force moving his own way, thinks his own way, sees things his own way, follows his own beliefs and works things out his way. Truely Fascinating. ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

However, I will have to say I used to believe if there is a person Tsukasa will listen to, it will be Amane. that's how the story made me think, chapter 108 too, and the magic AU kinda. 'wonder what's the inside of a ghost is like/wizard' Tsu -I saw him a lot in Tsu this chapter!- was a force no one stood a chance against until Amane called him and he acted like a good little boy I had it in me Amane can tame him… but… it seems it's to a certain degree, too. When Tsukasa wants a thing for real, he won't back down even if Amane told him to stop? Hmm… I find that charming, too. And it's still cute when he listens to Amane… uh… both ways are nice! ♡ ♡ ♡

So, was the ticking Tsu heard coming out of little Mirai's clock only or also her 'inside' as well? Kako seems to have these 'tick tock', and back in their first arc, wherever Mirai goes there is also ticking. Do they also 'tick tock' with their clocks? Never expected the keepers to be this kind of creatures. Hmm... wonder if they work like robots and can get fixed? I see Tsu might have interest in there? Some experiments? They feel similar to artificial humans in a way? But maybe he won't be too interested?

The ending!

I wonder if Tsukasa is referring here to Akane or little Mirai? Akane was naturally standing near Tsu and it seems he is looking at Tsu but Tsu is looking ahead of him (not at Akane who is beside him), perhaps at captured Mirai? Hmm...

It's worth mentioning it looks like he went for the first clock keeper in charge aka kaku, then following this pattern, he'll go for the second keeper aka: Mirai. Then the third aka Akane.

I see she has a potential of having the yorishiro within her.

So, I wonder together with Tsu what's the inside of Mirai is like!

As for Akane... will he try stopping time? Instead of holding his clock he is holding the little hammer? Won't work on him, Akane. You saw that. Unless little hammer has other uses beside that seal or attacking? Does he intend to free Teru? He is the one who sealed him. I wonder if he can free Hanako too, since he wasn't the one to seal him, but rather Mirai.

Teru... to think a meeting between him and Tsukasa was so waited by the fandom... what was his reaction to seeing Tsukasa just going that way before his eyes? His definition of 'Evil spirit' shins in there. Mr. Teru??? How are things going by you? I think he may seem far more dangerous to you than Hanako you're chasing? Now, if Teru knew Tsu is Hanako's yorishrio... I assume that won't be good news for hanako, for many reasons...

I wonder if AidaIro intend to have something go on between the 2? Now or on later stages. They never paid much attention to each other this chapter, beside the time Tsukasa commented on Teru.

I do wonder how the next chapter will 'play' out, will they have a some kind of fight with Tsu? Hmm... maybe things will take a whole different turn for Akane and the rest, maybe Tsukasa as well. Anything can happen. ..........

Just having the possibility of 'the yorishiro might also not be within any of the 3' is funny. You might need to come up with a second back up plan Tsu. Will that be the case?

If things came to an end with the past and future keepers gone... and the yorishiro got destroyed... I wonder what would come of Akane's 'contract' with them. Will he be free? Return to be a normal human with no supernatural abilities? Will he feel happy to finally be free? I mean he showed he was tricked into working for No.1 and was furious about the fact. I wonder how he'll react, especially when things might come to his promise of healing Aoi's hand, as a normal person he really can do nothing I think? Hmm... his feelings might be contradictory somehow... ..........

My mind even decided to have the thought of 'what if we can repair the keepers'. Thinking about Mit 2.0, he can regenerate by eating weak supernatural representing the way he is made. The keepers seem to be like 'robots'? If their pieces were to be replaced or put back efficiently together somehow, would that bring them back in shape? or even, what if kaku was smart and careful enough to previously put a replacement in his place? I need to see the keepers being a threat. I want to see how much of a force they are. While I do want to see Tsukasa having his victory, it will be fun to see him overcomig a few hurdles.

Hmm... anyway! The conclusion we got out of the chapter simply is...!

I was wondering if you had any tips for creating a writing blog?

thank you so much for the support! hopefully what I include is at least somewhat helpful!

first, i think it's important to note that a lot of my success comes from the circumstances surrounding the startup of my blog. i began to write for obey me during 2020, with my first work getting posted around may. this is important for two reasons: not only we're we in lockdown, leading to an insane increase in engagement from 2020-late 2022, but also since the game released in dec 2019, I was one of the first people to write for it, thus meaning I was filling a niche that had in increased demand. my point in this is to say that I attribute a lot of my success to these factors, and not necessarily to any actions that I took or inherent talent lol

also note that these tops are based in my experience and experience only, not in any science or data!

general tips:

don't expect to blow up overnight! i've been writing fanfiction since 2018 and i only started gaining traction in late 2020 haha. and in that time, don't be afraid to just throw stuff at the wall until you find something that sticks. set boundaries! if you get to a point where people are being demanding, unkind, leaving hate, asking for too much, doing anything to rub you the wrong way, shut it down. thankfully I've only had to do that like twice (as usually my followers are lovely and understanding), but it's important to remember this is your blog and your rules

writing tips:

play around with style, tone, themes, elements, etc until you find your groove. my works do span stylistically, thematically, plot-wise, etc, but commonly they're lighthearted and sweet, as I find that's what I like to write the best. find what you like to write the best! edit edit edit! once you're done writing, read through it once or twice to find typos/stuff you don't like, then when you move it from wherever you're writing (as I do not suggest writing in tumblr) look through it again as the new format and sizing will allow you to catch more. then, if you're still unsure, wait overnight and look through it again the next day before posting. but it's also not the end of the world to have typos if you get constructive criticism (given in a kind way ofc)... it's in your best interest to at least evaluate your work before deciding to take it or not. don't just dismiss it. reflection leads to improvement! when I first started writing I didn't even put dialogue into different paragraphs and without some nice comments who knows how long that might have lasted lol if you're struggling with writing block or can't seem to finish up a piece, give it a break. don't keep kicking a dead horse. I've had pieces that I start and don't come back to until like 9 months later lmfaooo

technical tips:

blogs that are centered around 1 (to 2) fandoms tend to do better. this is because ppl don't like to follow creators if there's also a bunch of random stuff appearing on their dash in between works. this is why I utilize sideblogs (i tend to post obey me and haikyu (to a lesser degree) on this one, and i have one for batman, one for another book series, and one for more personal poetry and stuff) a good and aesthetically pleasing layout is going to really go far. if you're blog and works look professional and attractive, they're going to pull people in. what this means is to come up with a blog theme/layout that is unique and fits the vibes of you and your writing, have a unique pfp (so not one of the of tumblr ones), and make sure your works are organized with a clear layout that's standard across your blog (this also helps create a 'blog identity'). feel free to look at mine for inspo obv or as you scroll through popular blogs/tags try to pick out elements that you'd like to incorporate. tagging is your best friend. i always start with the most important/broad ones (i.e. #obey me, #obey me game), then go into relevant relationships (i.e. #mammon x you, #mammon x mc), then characters (i.e. #mammon obey me, #obey me mammon), then anything else. this order can be changed if you have trigger warnings, which i'd say to put first. also, do not spam tag or tag thing's that aren't related in an effort to gain viability as that will actually make people less likely to engage. as with layout, try to standardize your process/blog specific tags so they create a 'blog identity' (such as my #leviawriting or #from: levi tags) be kind and interactive! if people leave you nice comments, respond to them! answer asks, have conversations, make new friends! this will make your experience much more fun and bring a lot of joy, and also make people want to talk to you

Myleth had been buzzing with excitement to ask you how your afternoon with the king had gone the previous day. She had come to find you at dinner but you had fallen into a deep sleep a short while after Thranduil had returned you to your room so she had left you to rest. The next morning, however, she shook you awake early, unable to wait any longer. She had been watching closer than you had even realised and had gotten it into her head that something with the king had changed since you arrived. Just like Legolas, she had picked up on... something. Something was changing and it certainly felt like a good thing.

Myleth admired her king. He was good to his people. He cared about his realm, the forest, and everything in it. Over the years, she had watched him shut himself off, but everybody in this kingdom knew about the king’s past. They knew about the loss of their queen and the darkness that descended not only over Mirkwood but the palace itself. Things were not as they once were and the Woodland Realm was quite a lot more isolated than it used to be many long years ago. She knew many wished for those days to return, even the prince.

You rose from beneath the blankets, rubbing at your tired eyes, as Myleth woke you with a tray of toasted bread and jasmine tea, which you had never drank before but was incredibly floral and sweet. It soothed you inside and out and you were soon wide awake and readying yourself for the day ahead. Myleth’s questioning both amused and embarrassed you in turn, but what made you flush bright red was the excited squeal she let out when you told her that you had been invited to dine with the king that evening and this time you had agreed.

You turned and stared at her with wide eyes, shaking your head at her. She only chuckled back at you, waving a hand. “We must find you something to wear.” She said, moving to the little wardrobe and looking through it. A moment later, she huffed to herself, finding nothing there that satisfied her.

“I could just wear that.” You gestured to the first thing that you saw, shrugging as you turned to continue fixing your hair for the day ahead before picking up a piece of the toasted bread and turning back to Myleth.

She was looking at you as if you had suddenly sprouted an extra head. “You cannot wear that to dinner with the king!” She exclaimed, shaking her head before she waved you off and moved for the door. “I will find you something suitable and be back in time to help you get ready.”

Before you could say anything more, she was gone. You shook your head, chuckling to yourself at the big deal she was making this out to be, and then you turned and picked up the book you’d grabbed from the library the previous night and finally opened it up to start to read. After the afternoon with the king, you most definitely had not had the attention span to read a single word.

Myleth, true to her word, returned an hour before dinner. She found you still tucked up on a chair, many chapters into the book already by this point. You had spent the day devouring it, even forgetting to go to lunch, to keep your mind occupied. As much as you were trying to not make it out to be a big thing... you had to admit that you were nervous. Legolas had not returned from his patrol in the woods yet, you knew this, so it would just be you and Thranduil and even despite how well yesterday seemed to have gone, you were still unsure exactly what to expect. Things could switch up at any moment, you had learned that already, but you found yourself hoping that it didn’t.

The dress Myleth had returned with looked far too grand, too expensive. You had never worn such an item of clothing in your life. Truthfully, you didn’t think you had even seen such an item of clothing in your life. It was the type of fabric that only the rich could afford and wear, at least where you came from. The little farm where you lived with your father didn’t pull enough gold to provide as much necessary food some seasons, never mind pretty dresses.

Myleth helped you dress and then sat you down so she could put a few braids into your hair. Often, you just tied it back with a ribbon, and you wondered if maybe too much effort might be going into one dinner but you reminded yourself that he was a king and he probably had certain expectations. What did you know about dining with royalty, after all?

Just as Myleth’s magic fingers ceased working on your hair, there was a knock at the door and it opened to reveal Galion standing there. He offered Myleth a smile and then turned to you. “I have been sent by King Thranduil to fetch you.” He explained, smiling kindly at you. Myleth pulled you onto your feet and practically pushed you out of the door and down the hall. You glanced back at her as you followed Galion in the direction of the king’s chambers and she gave you a little wave before she rushed off to find Elros, to tell him all about this new development.

Thranduil turned when the door to the dining room that he shared with his son opened. Galion bowed and announced that he had brought his guest. Thranduil saw something pass over your expression at the word guest and he knew it was probably because you now were confused about your role here in his kingdom, having come as a prisoner, but he was distracted from these thoughts by the sight of you. His gaze took in your dress and your hair and the nervous expression that you were doing your very best to hide. He could not recall the last time he had thought a mortal beautiful but that was the word that echoed in his mind when he saw you. Thranduil recovered quickly, collecting himself and dismissing Galion with a nod of gratitute before turning back to you. “I am pleased you could make it.” He gestured to the seat near him, indicating that you should sit.

You were curious as to whatever it was you had seen flickering in Thranduil’s gaze as he’d looked at you but it had passed too quickly for you to really study it and maybe you had simply imagined it, after all. You moved to sit down, ignoring his choice of words, as if you would have been busy or something. You were his prisoner, you were always available... though you felt recently that you were being treated more like a guest than a prisoner. Had been for a little while, you supposed, and you didn’t feel totally trapped anymore, though you still longed for the outside... and to see your father again.

Banishing those thoughts from your mind before the melancholy could settle in once more, you offered him a smile, reaching for the drink that had been placed in front of you by a servant before they had left the room to fetch the meal Thranduil had called for. “Thank you for inviting me.” You said politely, just wanting to find something to say. The events of the previous day were still filling your thoughts and you felt a warm feeling coursing through you as you looked at him over the rim of your chalice.

“Did you get the chance to start that book?” He asked, slender fingers closing around the stem of his own goblet as he brought it to his lips. The sweet wine warming his very blood. You looked at him, a little surprised that he had even remembered you had grabbed a book before retiring the previous evening, and surprised that he had thought to ask. “Uh, yes... though I will admit I did not get around to it until this very morning.” You told him, glancing down at the table briefly, feeling embarrassed but uable to pinpoint the exact reason. Maybe you did not want him to figure out that you had been thinking about him instead and had found yourself unable to concentrate on reading.

Thranduil said nothing about it, merely smiled kindly at you and turned his attention to the meal that had appeared thanks to the servants, who scuttled off through a curtain again, leaving their king with his unusual dinner guest.

Dinner passed as the two of you settled into a conversation that was surprisingly comfortable and easier than you would have guessed it to be. Neither of you talked about the previous day but you asked him about the library, if he had really read all of those books and he chuckled at your amazement when he told you that he had indeed.

“I have never even seen that many books, let alone read even a fraction of the amount you have in that one room!” You told him.

“Well, I expect you shall work your way through them quickly enough.” He smiled, refilling his wine. “You are quite the voracious reader.”

You smiled, popping some more food into your mouth. You hadn’t been aware he had been paying that much attention to notice just how much you liked to read. He seemed incredibly interested in the fact that you read at all from the first moment he’d seen you with the book in your hand, reading out loud as he awoke from his poisoned wound.

“I am far more used to being ridiculed, not encouraged.” You admitted out loud, the words slipping out before you could really stop them.

Thranduil looked at you curiously for a moment, frowning. “Why is that?”

You looked back at him with a little shrug. “The people in my village... they think me strange.” You felt embarrassed to admit it out loud to him and usually you could brush it off but if you are told something often enough, you are usually inclined to start believing it.

“Strange?”

You nodded. “Mostly because I read, or at least that is the main reason they give. Whispering and laughing.” The only thing you missed about the village was your father and your farm, most of the other people in it were no great loss to you. “I once tried to teach some of the village children to read a few words and I was practically chased out of the square and threatened to never try again.” You shook your head. “The men think I get too many ideas in my head and that is not good. For a woman. Especially just a foolish farmgirl. You know.”

Thranduil shook his head because he truly did not know. He held no such beliefs that the women folk should not engage in things such as arts and bettering themselves, taking part in things they simply enjoyed. He did not even believe that only the men should be the ones defending and fighting, Tauriel being a prime example of such. “Your village sounds rather terrible.” He said.

“It is almost as lonely as your palace.” You replied without really thinking and then you looked up at him with wide eyes, shaking your head. “I... sorry...”

Thranduil didn’t say anything, simply moved past your slip, steering the conversation elsewhere but the truth was... it was lonely. He was lonely. It had not always been this way, he hadn’t, but the tragedies of his life had only added up. While some, such as Elrond of Rivendell, may have come out the other side of a lifetime of losses, Thranduil did not seem to fare quite the same. He shut himself off and the rest of the world out. He even kept his own son at arms length which he sorely regretted but it felt like too much time had passed and he could not go back and change it. Not any of it.

However, he could not dwell on it, it would do him and his people no good at all.

After dinner, Thranduil led you through the winding corridors back to your room and bid you goodnight, leaving you to your thoughts. Myleth had passed you both in the corridor on the way and she had given you a secret little smile that caused you to blush right down to your toes. Thranduil acted like he did not notice but you felt like he might have.

The next day, on your way to the dining hall for lunch, you were surprised to find Thranduil walking towards you. “Ah!” He stopped in front of you. “I had hoped to catch you before you left your room.” He said.

“Is something the matter?” You asked, frowning with concern.

“No, no.” In truth, he was a little frazzled due to having expected Legolas and his company back that very morning but there had been no sign. Still, he knew that it was too early to fear the worst. There were all sorts of possible reasons for a delay. “I was wondering if you would like to take lunch with me. In my garden.” He paused before hurriedly adding. “I thought that perhaps you might be missing the fresh air.”

You were quite taken aback but you smiled and nodded. “That... that sounds lovely. Thank you! Uh, my king.”

“Please.” He said, turning and gesturing for you to follow him along the corridors in the direction of his private gardens. “You may call me Thranduil.”

Your footsteps faltered at these words and you stared after him in disbelief, a bewildered smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you forced your feet to move again, following after him as he disappeared through the doorway that led to his own chambers.

With his back to you, it was easy to conceal his own smirk as he fought the urge to turn and see the look on your face.

Tetora: Aahh…! Uwaah, don’t go that way, main character!

There’s a monster with a clenched fist that got sealed up a thousand years ago! As soon as you go over there, it’s gonna put a buncha holes all over your body ssu!

It’s not too late to turn back! MAIN CHARACTEEEEEEER!

―― Hm? Did I get a message on my phone ssu?

Wah, I got distracted by my phone and the movie kept playin’! Hold on, lemmie pause it…

Ugh, who is it? I was in the middle of really interestin’ part…

Wait, it’s from Anego? What is it? I wasn’t supposed to be workin’ today.

Umm. “Good work today. There is an urgent meeting about the matter we discussed the other day. Do you have time today?”?

The thing we talked about the other day was… the weekly magazine? Well, I guess I’ll find out if that’s it once I get there. Umm... “I’m… on… my way… ssu…” [1] …there.

Sigh… I guess I’ll just leave the rest of this movie for another day huh~.

Kuro: Hm? Aah, it’s Tetsu. What a coincidence.

Kuro: What is it? Ya seem to be in a good mood. Somethin’ good happen?

Tetora: Hehe, I was just thinkin’ that it’s been a while since we walked together like this~ that’s all.

Kuro: Hm?

Tetora: See, Taishou already graduated from school, right? We haven’t been able to walk home together after club activities ssu.

Plus, even when we end up workin' together, we always end up leavin’ by ourselves.

Kuro: Hahah, now that ya say it, that’s definitely true. Tetsu used to follow me around a lot at school.

Tomoya: Ah, Tetora and Kiryuu-senpai. Good work today.

Kuro: Oops, were ya waitin’ for us to come? Sorry for bein’ late.

Tetora: Really sorry for makin’ you wait ssu!

Eichi: Don’t worry about it. We were the ones who called you over so suddenly.

Tomoya: Plus, we only just got here ourselves, so please don’t worry about it.

Kuro: ‘s that so. And? Why’d ya call us all out here on such short notice?

Eichi: Anzu-chan, could you hand out those printed copies to everyone?

Tetora: Hmm? What’s this for ssu? It looks like a bunch of comments from SNS……

Eichi: That’s correct. It’s a collection of the fans’ opinions after reading that weekly magazine that was brought up a couple days ago.

Tetora: The weekly magazine?

Ah, Taishou. The thing about the weekly magazine wasーー

Kuro: Aah, no need to explain. Hasumi explained that to me a bit. That was the thing that had a bunch of complicated stuff goin’ around, right?

But I thought Tenshouin and the Lil’ miss said not to worry ‘bout it since it wasn’t that big of a deal?

Eichi: We did, but…

Tomoya: Uwaah. What is this…

Tetora: ? What’s the matter, Tomoya-kun?

Tomoya: The fans seem really upset. There’s a bunch of really rough feedback…

Tetora: Eehh!?

Eichi: Yes. It seems I underestimated how much this issue would affect our fans.

Apparently, fans of idols from various agencies got into a dispute over the content of the article. The situation ended up causing a flame war.

It seemed to have been over something small at the beginning. But now, it sparked into something that goes beyond what the article in the weekly magazine was talking about.

In the span of a few days, the situation has quickly spiraled out of control.

Good grief… I truly was not expecting this. I never thought the fans would get this upset about something we decided wasn’t a big deal…

Tetora: But won’t this just go away after a while?

Eichi: You would think so. But at the rate that this is going, it’s going to take a very long time for this to settle down.

This goes past disputes over the contents of the article. The fans are even bringing up past grievances. At this point, they’re just lashing out at each other.

Of course, both agencies have decided that we cannot overlook this situation.

I called everyone here to ask you to brainstorm ideas on ways we can improve the image for our respective offices.

Erm, hello!

I am an aspiring writer. I have these stories in my head that I love and want to write about. But when I try, it's the absolute worst shit I've ever seen in my life.

Sorry, what I'm trying to ask is, any tips for younger writers who have no idea what they're doing...?

Hi! I have no idea what I'm doing ever, but I'll try to answer as best as I can. I'll start with generic advice, then say what works for me specifically. Sorry this got so long.

We're all kind of fumbling through life. The writing habits that I have have come from three sources:

a) hearing what other people do and building from them. I'm always in one writers group or another (currently I'm in a local writers group, and I'm regularly involved with two different NaNoWriMo groups in November, one locally and one virtually) and I've picked up a lot from them

b) a metric fuckton of trial and error. Because while part (a) is great some of the time, most of the things that work for other people don't work for me. I can't set a strict schedule at the same time everyday. I can't edit for a long time after I write.

c) NaNoWriMo (see link) helped me SO MUCH. I don't think everything can be written that way, but in terms of getting a handle on your own voice, preventing yourself from stopping to edit, and letting the story flow on its own, NaNo is amazing. It's a great starting point. Editing can come later, once the words are done on the page.

If you're unfamiliar, it's a (totally free) event that happens in November every year where everyone tries to write 50,000 words of a brand new novel in the span of one month. That's 1,667 words per day, so there isn't much time to stop and edit as you go. You just keep going. It's a competition against yourself rather than anyone else, to see if you can accomplish the task. It's also a community based event, so you can commiserate with other writers about the bad and celebrate with them about the good.

They have smaller events in April and July, but to really get the feel of it, November is when it's a party (or a rollercoaster, either way). I went to write-ins in cafes, bars, grocery stores, on the subway, etc. The event is a whole vibe, and now they have in person events again (they paused for covid). If you want to stay virtual, they have that too!

And as for what works for me:

This most certainly wouldn't work for everyone, but it's my current strategy:

I think best when I'm in motion. By far. So most of my storyboarding I do while walking or driving, and I dictate into the notes app on my phone.

I do most of my dialogue this way too, because speaking it out loud makes it feel more like a conversation and more natural. I won't dictate the narration, but I'll include action tags. So it comes out like "Anthony: *flings door open, eyes wide* what in blazes are you doing??" (I add punctuation later)

Then when I get home, I often have several thousand words of notes to work from. My notes file for my last fic was 30k words, almost all of which had been dictated. It's a lot. It might sound daunting.

But it was done while out for a walk or drive, so it felt easy and effortless. And then when it came time to actually write, I got 48,000 words of a first draft done in 8 days (about 15k of which was just copy pasted from the outline. The whole time it felt like cheating and using guidelines to write the actual story, but it was all my original work, just done at different times.

Keep writing as an exciting treat rather than a chore.

I've started to create little writers retreats for myself. My friends and I rented an AirBnB for two nights this winter, where the entire goal was reading and writing. Sure there was sitting around the fire talking and eating good food, but we built it up so that the writing was the exciting part. It worked SO WELL. We did writing activities together too, not just staring at a word doc. We did character studies and made little AUs to imagine our characters in.

A friend and I took a six hour road trip for another writers retreat too. We spent the 12 hours (RT) in the car talking about our stories and characters. We'd started with dozens of prompts so we'd have enough material, and we never ran out. Then we took rest stops at gas stations and restaurants and did little 15 minute writing sprints. It really got me fired up. I wrote 6,000 words over the two days of that retreat!

Keeping writing fun can be big things (my sister and I did a writers retreat like that in Hawaii) or little things (I always treat myself to a donut and a coffee on Sunday mornings and then have a leisurely morning in the cafe writing).

I can't say if any of this will work for you, because I can't even say whether it'll still work for *me* in a few years. But I hope it's food for thought!

Anyway this is like one million words long so sorry about that, hope it was interesting.

alright layer 7 first day impressions! (played each layer twice more or less so not first impressions but still I just need to get my thoughts out. do not expect anything good, I'm just stream-of-consciousness rambling.) major detailed spoilers under the cut!

7-1: oooh love the blood painting with violence aesthetic, it turned out so well. mannequins are really fun! bit confusing to navigate but I think that was sort of the point, given the layer name. loved the lore in the book

and then the minotaur. (nice house of leaves reference!) took me a while because I was out of practice and I fell off the platforms a lot but ough great lore, there. love that we got more details about minos, as tragic as it was. and the phase 2 at the end of the level genuinely startled me! anyway whoa, really strong start to a layer

7-2: cool to start with the gutterman right off the bat; finally, I am forced to learn to switch fists. really liked the gutterman design and lore, and the guttertanks were a nice surprise, also. the timing whiplash things were a bit tricky, because I suck at platforming, but I got the hang of them faster than I expected. I died a lot in the room with the stalker. the whole war aesthetic with the warheads and the sort of industrial aesthetic was really good, and I thought the bomb was a great addition. also seeing the earthmovers in the distance and bullets flying across the sky, very intense aesthetic, very fitting. also, cool level design, I the part where walls fall down in front of you! very cool! just got a bit confused about navigation in some places but it was intuitive enough, and easier to find my way around than 7-1

7-3: holy shit the beginning made me really emotional. the trees were so poignant, and they look beautiful also. interesting way to do a key hunt sort of thing, too. the little gates were a nice aesthetic touch, also. seeing the demons and the war machines fight was really interesting (and also made the fights easier when I was starting to get physically tired, haha). great use of the dual wield powerup also. fantastic ambiance overall, very evocative. the tree imagery and accompanying music is stuck in my mind

7-4: I love it when a boss is also the level! good shit! the platforming here was fun for me, which is cool, because I'm not always big on it. really solid industrial aesthetic throughout the level. loved all the greebling and the signs and stuff; curious to know what the japanese text on the signs translates to. was a bit unsure where to aim during the security system fight, but thankfully marksman revolver helped me figure it out. the rising deadly liquid freaked me out at first because I hate timing challenges, but thankfully that didn't end up being an issue at all. loved the level layout overall, really got the impression I was clambering into a giant war machine, which was a blast. the heart boss itself was so-so for me because I'm not a big fan of spinny arena-spanning things like that, but the healing opportunities with the idols were nice, and parrying the projectiles really helped me a lot! the timer at the end was also a bit nerve-wracking but gave me ample time, and it was extremely worth it to jump out of a giant exploding war engine. felt really badass. and the lore implications are fascinating, I need to think a bunch because whoa. the fact that humanity just lived on those for a while is very interesting

overall thoughts: bit of a difficulty jump, but once I got used to things again, the difficulty was at a good level, to me. and these levels were really fun and interesting! I need to actually find the secrets and secret encounter etc (only found one by accident so far in 7-1), but I'll leave that for later. holy shit, I'm so happy, though, what a great new set of levels!

“Starting With Care” based on Genesis 2:1-3 and Matthew 6:26-34

We're going to start with the bad news: you can't control anything.

Or, at least you can't control anything important.

You can't control how long you'll live, what the quality of that living will be, what illnesses or injuries you will endure, how long your loved ones will live, if or when traumatic events will occur, nor how they'll be responded to.

I was recently a part of a conversation about suffering led by a medical professional who – rather appropriately I thought – was worried about the fact that patients sometimes assume their suffering is God's punishment. I agreed with him that this is just not TRUE, and it is awful to think that you are both in pain and that you deserve it. But, I am also aware that if pain and suffering aren't a punishment from God, another option is that life is a crapshoot and there isn't any meaning to be found in it – and for a whole lot of people that's MORE uncomfortable than thinking God wills it. Because if God's punishing them, or teaching them a lesson, then the suffering AT LEAST means something and maybe even has redemptive value. But if it was just a random thing, and it could have happened to anyone and just happened to happen to them – well, for a lot of people that's WORSE.

Because then it is entirely out of their control. If God is punishing them, then IF ONLY they'd acted differently, then they could have prevented this from happening.

Right? It is an awful theology, but the human desire to pretend we have control is really quite powerful.

And, let's be honest, we can't control things but we can …. impact probabilities, right? Cancer is MORE likely if you smoke, if you don't exercise, if you don't eat well. Even better, you aren't likely to get hurt falling off a rock wall if you don't attempt to climb a rock wall. Right?

That said, once I broke a toe because a container of chili fell out of my freezer and landed on it. No rockwalls involved. Another time I sprained an ankle horribly – at the ski mountain – on the INDOOR stairs when I was grabbing lunch. Probabilities aren't guarantees.

I find some comfort in the Matthew passage that tells us that worrying and trying to control the uncontrollable is in human nature. This one isn't a modern day problem and we don't have to blame the 24 hour news cycle, smartphones, or social media. This is a human problem. We are aware enough of the uncertainties of life to worry about what may happen.

Jesus seems to recommend not worrying about the little things – about eating and drinking and finding clothes. Which, funnily enough, were exactly things that most of his audience was worried about most of the time because he was speaking to people who often didn't enough enough food, or drink, or a change of clothes.

In the face of their daily struggle for survival, Jesus says,

“Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

And I get his point. Life is vivacious, nature takes care of itself, hoarding is unnecessary, and truly no one is as beautiful as a flower. But also, I don't get his point. Because it sounds a whole lot like saying, “Sure, there is a system of oppression out there that took away your family's land and livelihood, and now you are hoping every day to get hired back to work the land so that you can afford to eat tonight, and sure you are likely to die soon of malnutrition, but don't worry about it, God will take care of you.” And, while I TRULY believe that God does want to take care of everyone... well, deaths from malnutrition HAPPEN so it seems like that “promise” isn't one that often works out.

Compassionate people don't say to starving people, “don't worry about food.”

So, what the heck is Jesus doing?

I think I did a bad job in picking this passage, particularly that I didn't look at the verses PRECEEDING these ones. Namely, “No one can serve two masters for a slave will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” These lines are a big deal in the Bible. For a world in which people thought being wealthy was a sign of God's favor, it really turns the tables. This passage encourages the poor while challenging the wealthy. And it is placed before the bit about the lilies of the field.

And I wonder if Jesus is at this point talking to wealthy people. The ones who DO have enough to eat, but are worried about it anyway. The ones who do have clothes, but fret that they're not enough.

And I wonder, too, if Jesus is doing one of those really deep teaching things where he is saying to the poor - if you work together you'll have enough, but when you have enough don't worry about getting more like the rich people do. Trust in each other and God, don't horde.

Furthermore, I think maybe Jesus wants those who are oppressed to look up long enough to see they system that is oppressing them, and that it isn't God's will. God made a world of abundance, PEOPLE are keeping each other from accessing it. Part of the problem of trying to survive is that you can be so pre-occupied with it that you don't notice you shouldn't have to fight that hard.

God made enough. It was true then, and it is true now, just as it is true that people died of not having enough then and people die of not having enough now. God made enough, people have distribution problems. And I think it's OK to worry about the distribution problems.

I really appreciated this week's essay from We Cry Justice. I'd like to read a little more of it to you:

God creates human partnerships. In short, God created a system whereby all material and emotional life is tended to. So if we are to be fruitful and multiply – if we are to add to creation – the systems we create must extend the provision of care.

…

Within us lies the potential to create and re-create a system that revolves around and produces care, a system where needs are met. We will need each other to do so. We will need to be in partnership, working together to be fruitful and multiply.1

We can't CONTROL anything, although we can do a lot of damage trying. We can, however, be in partnership with each other and God and seek to “extend the provision of care.” We can choose to notice that care is inherent in creation, and that God's care hasn't changed. We can remind ourselves that there is ENOUGH, and that's good. We can remember the lilies of the field – when they're useful – that creation is beautiful and awe-inspiring.

We can remember that things aren't now as they should be, but they CAN get better, that God is working with us to make them better, that we're working together, that many people are in this together. That we want a world where no one has to worry about what they will eat or drink or wear, because the resources of the world are abundant there is enough for everyone – and in the kindom of God the resources are shared with the abundance of God.

It is a dream worth holding onto, and remembering, and seeking. We can start with care. And every little bit helps. We can't control it, but we can shape it. Thanks be to God. Amen

God I have never felt so free.

Ever since I moved into Purgatory Hall my life has changed so much and all for the better.

I could wear whatever I pleased, I wasn't in charge of anyone, I had my own room and the cliff once again just became a safe place to relax.

Simeon and Luke helped through my suicidal tendencies

Solomon helping me how he could, since he's also receiving help from Simeon and Luke

My scars were on show once again and I have never felt more comfortable

Honestly if I knew that moving to purgatory hall would have so many advantages I would have done so ages ago!

I have been so busy with my new life the demon brothers have never even crossed my mind.

The only time it did was when I noticed their pact marks had started to glow more frequently and time to time they burned a little.

I honestly didn't give it much thought, hence I didn't really care anymore.

My magic level went up drastically, it was amazing how much I could learn in the span of a month.

Solomon was honestly a great teacher, at the moment I was practicing a teleportation spell, it was rather hard but I'm getting the hang of it slowly

The small spark of magic slowly spread and spread until it turned into a full portal.

I smiled at it and Solomon spoke

-"Bravo Noah, you never cease to amaze me."- He spoke as he went and stood beside me.

-"Now imagine any place you want to go, go ahead there's no limitations."- He spoke softly while smiling at me kindly

I thought of the room beside this one, Luke's room.

I thought of the formal bed with the fancy design in the walls and the smell of pastries and small materials used for his famous cakes splattered around his room in random places.

The portal turned a soft blue and Solomon gave me the go ahead to go through.

I slowly walked through and closed my eyes as I slowly felt a bit sick from the feeling of the portal.

However when I stopped walking the soft smell of sweet invaded my senses as I opened my eyes and looked around, the room I was just thinking of earlier now being around me in real life.

-"Did you just teleport here?!"- Spoke an excited voice behind me.

There stood Luke who was working at his desk with some complicated homework he was bound to ask Simeon to help him with later on.

A smile playing at his lips as he watched me with sparks in his eyes

I laughed and said yes as he ran to me and hugged me.

He congratulated me and dragged me back to Solomon telling him my achievement while he chuckled at the eagerness of the boy.

Luke exclaimed and said -"let's throw a party to celebrate Noah! This is a huge step in magic you should be very proud of yourself!"- he said with a big smile adorning his face, my heart melted at the sight and I crouched down to look at him better.

-"we can throw the biggest party if you want to luke, you and Simeon get to bake all the treats!"- I said at the boy, he laughed and wrapped his hands around my neck as he gave me a big hug, which I returned.

And so we all spent the day, having fun and learning even more magic, giggling and making cookies, even Solomon tried! (Even though Simeon and Luke protested a lot against it). I ended up having to eat them, I'm pretty sure I have food poisoning now.

But there's the little things, these little deatils they do for me, when I learn a new spell they cleberate and don't care if it's the simplest and easiest of spells.

Their simply proud of me for doing it!

Are you sure about that?

Ah...but alas not everything in life can be perfect.

Since I relapsed my mind has fallen into a very depressive state, hence the residents of Purgatory hall refuse to leave me alone to make sure I don't do anything stupid or harmful.

There's a voice, it's a mix of all the demon brothers voices mixed into one, it's disturbing and has kept me wide awake at night multiple times.

It feeds and feasts on my insecurities and thoughts, how I look on the mirror, what I'm wearing, how I speak, my actitude, my personality.

Slowly breaking me down until I'm nothing.

You flatter me.

The fact it itself has grown a personality in my head does not help.

Each day, my hatred only grows and grows, even with the demon brothers out of my life hearing this damn voice doesn't let me move on.

Talking about them....it's been exactly 5 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, and 8 minutes since I left...

I know because Beel has been texting me everytime it changes, not every minute but every day, every week, every month.

He doesn't say anything else and he doesn't have any malicious intent I'm sure of it.

He's simply waiting for me to come back home...

What is home? Is is the people or the place? The feelings or the memories?

Is the house of lamentation even my home now? Even after I left, especially when the people that hunt my nightmares reside in that house.

I slowly tightened them again, thinking of everything that has happen over the last few months.

The tension has been unbelievable.

Do you know how hard it is, to be expected to go to class and act normal, as if one of your teachers is not only THE Lucifer but also the demon who revealed to the whole house of lamentation your self harm tendencies?

To be buying something for yourself or others and seeing Mammon running around buying carelessly but immideatly freezes the moment he sets eyes on you? Simply sulking over to the register staying deadly quiet, not saying anything or even looking in my direction.

To be playing a video game and be met with the same username I used to stay up all night playing games with immideatly leave once he notices I'm in the game with him?

And that's only three of the brothers! It has been so weird, being out with thirteen for makeup and seeing Asmo, to be picking out a book in a libary and seeing Satan on the other side grabbing the same book, making akward eye contact, one ending in putting the book back and walking away.

To be eating at a restaurant and see Beel's broken face on the other side of the room, watching me enjoy the foods and laughs I used to share with him not that long ago, to see belphie just stare at me through class instead of sleeping, burning holes through my skull.

It's been so hard trying to forget them, and I haven't even been thinking about them until now so what am I doing?!

I sigh and snuggle up to the warm sheets, checking my D.D.D and scrolling through Devilgram only to see new photos of the brothers with Angelica.

It hurt, even if I didn't want it to, knowing that one day not that long ago that was me.

That not long ago, I was the one reading with Satan and Lucifer.

That I was the one to help Mammon with his physics homework.

That I was the one that would help belphegor sleep.

That I was the one they cared about!

To be replaced and thrown like nothing..

I woke up the next morning, groaning and rubbing my eyes, I still felt tired and exhausted, and I could tell there were eyebags under my eyes.

But after what the voice said, I think it's finally time to do it.

I need to confront them about what happened.

Normally I'd be getting ready for school but thankfully it's Sunday and none of the demon brothers have plans on Sunday since it's their 'rest day'.

I slowly put on my leather jacket and turned on my motorcycle, the engine roaring to life, the purple stripes along it's metal body coming to life and shining a bright neon.

I took off into the street and looked around.

It wasn't a long drive so I didn't really need to take my bike but I didn't want to walk in the middle of the day on the side of the street, probably crying my eyes out.

So as I parked my bike infront of the house and put the lock on, making sure to hide it so no one would take it, I made my way infront of the house and knocked, holding my helmet between my hands and looking around whistling and looking anywhere but the front door, anxious about who would answer the door.

I looked around at its old structure and stopped whistling, my shoulders relaxing as I looked at the cracks and light emitting from it.

It's crazy to think I once felt like this place was my forever home.

I got to engrossed in my thoughts and didnt notice the front door opening.

I heard a creak sound and looked infront of me, then looked down a bit to meet the eyes of a surprised Satan.

We both just stared at eachother, me tensing up and getting nervous as I looked down at him, being tall had its moments, right now it was not one of them.

Why did I have to be taller than Lucifer?!

His bottom lip quivered and my brain immediately went to panic mode, I was about to ask what's wrong when I felt his arms around me and his soft murmurs.

-"you're back...oh my lord you are actually back..."- his voice came out as soft and quivering, something I would of never imagined of hearing from Satan.

I simply hugged him back as well as I could and waited for him to calm down before I asked if I could come in

He moved away and wiped his tears, letting me into the house of lamentation, admiring the halls that once seemed so familiar.

-"would you mind calling the rest of your family?..I think it's about time we all talked.."- I spoke softly and walked into the living room, afraid my normal actitude would piss him off or make him give me the cold shoulder.

He spoke rapidly and said yes, exiting the room as he left to look for his brothers

I looked around at the space and remembered all the memories I made in here with everyone.

I looked at the seemingly never ending fire and sighed as I remembered how safe I used to feel in this place.

I drifted off in my thoughts and before I knew it I heard Satan's voice on the other side of the door, not turning to face them as I continued staring at the ember fire.

The door creaked open and I finally turned around to look at their gaze.

I smiled and they all stared shocked at me, some with tears in their eyes.

-"Hi.."- I softly spoke and waved.

This was going to be long.

As I sat around with the brothers, I was drinking some tea Lucifer made for me, they were in akward silence while I was just happily drinking.

Lucifers tea was always a delicacy for anyone no matter the situation.

I took the last sip of my tea and sighed, some brothers tensed up as they saw I was finally gonna talk.

-"I think it's time we talked things through...about..what happened, I'm not really sure where to start so someone go ahead and ask anything, let's just really try to talk and get everything out of the way...okay?"- I softly murmured at them, smiling warmly.

Suddenly Lucifer came and kneeled beside me, reaching out his palm.

-"Can....Can I see?"- he spoke carefully as he didn't look up and meet my eyes, he talked carefully and warmly as if any louder would ruin the atmosphere in the room.

I gave him my arm and he slowly took off the bandages, relived to see how the burns were all healing well.

He looked up and smiled at me, I smiled back at him.

Maybe this won't be as bad as I thought.

It was worse than I thought.

It all started off really nice! They were all understanding and kind!

They were totally different! It was so nice for them to actually listen and apologize to what I've been through all this time!

But then they just had to do it!

They had to mention tHE FUCKING NEW GIRL.

'oh Angelica feels bad and guilty, you should apologize to eachother!' SHE CAN KISS MY BLOODY ASS AS AN APOLOGY THEN!

Why should I be apologizing?! Im the one hurting, not her!

Oh I'm fucking sorry I don't feel sorry for making a girl cry after I burned myself multiple times and relapsed terribly!

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?!

It's fucking ridiculous, just thinking about it gets me mad.

I thought they would be able to understand but they don't!

They still thinking she's the victim after all this time! I gave chance after chance after chance.

And this is what happens when I try to make things right! I get spit right in my face by them!

I become a laughing stock! This is all too much, the voice is growing and I'm not sure I can handle it.

I need a place where I can cool off for a while and forget about this conversation and situation I just had.

-"Do you really want to die?"- Luke's soft voice cut through the silence, he said, walking closer to me, for a second it all sounded unreal because no one has ever asked me such a hurtful question in my whole life.

-"You can't do that, I can't let you do that!"-

-"You can't leave me here alone again!"- his voice shutters and breaks

-"you need to stay!"- he says, raising his hand to cover up his face.

-"I'm sorry.."- I spoke after a few seconds. His face all scrunched up and hurting is wounding me do deeply, against my will, I run back to the other side of the fence and away from the edge closer to him.

Hoping he understands my words.

-"I'm sorry..I'm sorry..I'm sorry..I'm sorry!"-

I cried out, yet I pause, and then, it all clicks in my head.

This boy, this angel of a person, I have finally understood that..

They needed me as much as I needed them! Even after hurting and thinking of myself as not worthy I have finally understood...

That these wonderful people I've met and bonded with, we all deeply care about about the other to lose eachother.

They wouldn't replace me or forget me, because I have truly made an impact, in their life's!

No matter who comes along, we'll always be by each others side, and that thought alone...brings me so much peace..I hug the boy tighter and pull away, wiping his tears away.

-"I think it's time to go home.."- he brings me back in for a hug and we just stay like that for awhile.

My conflicts with the demon brothers are far from over, and their sure to hear about this later, but for now, I'd like to live in the moment.

And ignore everything and everyone around me.

Maybe I don't have to matter in the brothers life's, just mattering in

Expensive Anime Plastic part 2: Two years later

now with 80% less cardboard as risers!

so I've had this as my pinned post for two years now, but it's pretty outdated at this point. my collection has grown a lot in the last two years, and I wanted to show it off! this is my blog and I'll make you look at my plastic toys if I want to >:D

this post is a full tour of my anime figure collection as of June 2024, which basically spans across my whole apartment these days. this is my 11th year in the hobby, so everything you see here was accumulated slowly over that time.

Alright, first up, the detolfs in the living room:

Some thoughts: the BNHA shelf will likely get rotated out pretty soon. I fell off the manga pretty hard a while ago, but I do still enjoy these figures... but when my Haikyuu Kotobukiya scales get here (all four of them 😩) I'll probably try to turn that into a Haikyuu shelf. Jirou, Shouto and maybe one Dabi can take the place of the Haikyuu Nendos on the left side

the Katamari Dipp figure is a custom by sixsculpts on instagram! (topshelf on MFC) they reached out to me when I mentioned I'll probably never get my hands on the F4F Dipp figure, and made the Dipp of my dreams for me 🥰 definitely check out their work if you like customs!

last thing -- I know the bottom left shelf is kind of a disaster. Ike and Alphen just REFUSE to play nice together, with the way they both have big capes and swords that stick out and bump things -_- if it helps, we're usually viewing these shelves at an angle from our couch, and Claude in the back is much more visible from there

as a little bonus, here's what one of these shelves USED to look like before I rotated out these figures:

I decided to pack away most of my League of Legends figures after they laid off my wife 😐 (and several good friends 😐) I may bring them back out once I have more room, but they currently live in the closet. and that's fine, for now.

Next up, my desk in the office:

I put away all my random stacks of MTG cards to take these pictures.

most of the figures here are blind box/prize figures that I won't be too sad about if they get dusty or attacked by the cats (though I do use some boxes to block them from the cats when I'm not in the room). the exceptions are the goth angel, who doesn't fit anywhere else, the light-up Futaba figure and the Cintiq girlie, who simply have to live with my computer and Cintiq tablet. themeing!

some of the pins/keychains/prints here are official, but a lot of them are fan-made merch! some of them are bonuses that came with zines I preordered (including the infamous showtime akeshu zine)

also, since you can see a few of them in the top pic, here's those plushies. I have way more plush than this, but these are the ones that currently live on my desk:

Moving on to the bedroom: ❗❗ Warning: this section contains figures that are NSFW ❗❗ I've censored one of them (because her bits are just OUT and I don't wanna to get smited) but there are a few that are ~spicy~ proceed with caution

(I promise we have books that aren't manga, they're just all on a different bookshelf in the living room!) this doubles as our manga shelf, obviously. we got back into collecting physical manga after moving to LA, since it's easy to make a trip to Kinokuniya and pick up new stuff! mixed in are some older volumes I recently rescued from my parents' house. I'm slooooowly trying to complete TRC, but it's hard to find it these days...

anyway this shelf is kind of a mess theme-wise, since they're mostly just figures I don't have room for anywhere else. especially that top shelf, yeesh. 10th anniversary Miku trying to bridge the gap between horny 1/4 scales and live-service game hell.

long-time followers might also spot the sonic screwdriver, which is the same one I'm holding in the very first post I ever made on this website. please don't go looking for that.

I'm hoping to pick up a third display case (probably second hand, since ikea discontinued the detolf >.> ) but in the meantime they're here getting in the way of my manga.

aside from the LoL figures, I have three others not currently on display: one is Magical Mirai Miku 2017, which is in her box because she's broken 😬 her neck peg got messed up one of the times I packed her to move, so I need to fix that sometime. the second is the 1/4 Yakuwa Nazumi designed by WOOMA, which I desperately want to display but she's ENORMOUS so she'll probably have to wait until I get another display case. and the last is another Miku prize figure, because I clearly don't have enough of those lmao

so that's my whole figure collection! it's a constant work-in-progress, because they keep making cool new figures and I am never satisfied :)

hoo boyo so i'm the small writing human o/ *waves*

thank you for your response and i just took the time to read through your Jacob black's life matters and how smeyer killed him and i found it super interesting. (also it literally excites me seeing the quotes with the page numbers🤤). -----anyway back on track now. so i've always hd a liking for twilight since i watched the movies when they released (i would have been like 10..?) because i generally like the genre it falls in to. back in feb i watched all the movies again with my mum and she owns all the books so i started to read Twilight and pretty much loved it (i'm easily pleased). it took me like three weeks to get through it which is pretty average for me (attention span..) but then when i picked up New Moon i could barely put it down. i read it in 4 days which is the fastest ive ever read a book by a looong shot. i kind of fell off with reading eclipse... it took me almost 2 whole months to get through which just shows.

i think in hindsight one of the reasons i actually love New Moon (book) more than the rest is that there isnt really a 'set in stone villain' (twilight has james, eclipse has the newborns//victoria, then BD has the volturi. i suppose edward is the only thing that could class as a villan that book but thats not my point i think i enjoyed it more because of the time we get to spend with bella and jacobs characters . . . (quick side note that i watched the movies after finishing the books and new moon has no justice i feel like it washes over the effect jacob had on bringing bella "back to life" so much. so upsetting)

anyhoodles. i think i enjoy Twilight to set up B&E, then New Moon to set up B&J, then as you say in the crit Eclipse just kind of forces you to choose. and it makes sense. after just watching the movies i cant see a way in hell anyone would be team jacob---but having read the books its a whole different story. but then again... smeyer.... yeah.

sorry this has been such a long ask and doesnt really have a question involved, feel free to not post a response as i understand it's long:')

as a last note while i think of it i think that Eclipse for me fell off in that i didnt particularly care about what it was doing. i liked reading about bella and edward in twilight and then bella and jacob in new moon and i just didnt really care for most of eclipse. but maybe thats because i fell in love with bella and jacob from new moon and then had the character sabotaged.. heavy sigh. i think it says a lot that ive had a fan art of bella and jacob walking along the beach as my phone wallpaper since i read new moon so that says it all really.

glad you liked the analysis! & the books. New Moon is my favorite too, & i definitely agree with you that part of the appeal is the internal struggle Bella faces. we do get Victoria in the background & the werewolves, but really the whole book is about Bella learning to cope with 1) being a human in a supernatural world 2) her grief of being alone [i.e. without Edward] in this new world. watching her pick up the pieces of her life & build something new & beautiful & imperfect with Jacob was cathartic & relatable - v much a triumph in a series so rooted in the fantastical.

& it's hard to watch Eclipse become this struggle between two boys. because really, it's not about Edward or Jacob. Bella's choice is about whether she wants to give up everything for this cold, "perfect," monstrous, immortal life; or, whether she wants to stick around & build something warm & human & imperfect & finite with Jacob.

by twisting Jacob's character from the symbols of sunshine & values of humanity he represents into a bad-boy supernatural love interest competing with Edward for Bella's affection, it erases some of the characterization that we have come to expect & love in Jacob. because when Meyer positions him as a love interest, he's not embodying the traits as a friend; he's embodying the traits of what Meyer thinks is formidable love interest and rival to Edward: confident, cocky, aggressive, persistent... Jacob becomes nothing more than a 2000s-era (& before) trope of how men in our society "should" act towards women. so, everything we came to knew about Jacob was morphed into this friend/lover hybrid that just didn't work for who he was. he is Jacob...but he is not our Jacob.

(& the movies did him even worse because the "slice of life" B/J scenes we get were mostly cut.)

I'd like to talk about AC2, more precisely how Giovanni traveled so much before the 29th. Google maps says the Travel times are as follows by bike (which I estimate is like a horse) Florence -> Milan 18.5hrs, Milan ->Venice 16hrs 10 min, Venice -> Florence 15hrs, Florence ->Rome 17hrs, and then back to Florence for another 17hrs. In total 83 hours and 40 minutes. That's not counting how long he was in each location. When did this guy eat or sleep in between all this? Fanfic research at the max.

Okay, so I was faced with a similar problem with the traveling Altaïr did in AC1 because he used a horse, sure, but AC1 happened from June to September and the whole hunt for the nine was around July to September so, yeah, nine targets (ten actually) in the span of 3 months is kinda questionable.

WARNING: This post mentions pushing a horse passed its limit and a disregard for the horse’s health. I will include a trigger for animal cruelty as well in the tags to cover all my basis. Again, this is all theoretical and I try not to be descriptive but, yeah, please prioritize your mental health and do not read this if you believe it will be detrimental to you or would make your day worse.

Moving on!

According to this website:

Walk: 6~ish km/hr.

Trot (from a different website): 12 km/hr (although there is a record of 30 km/hr, this is an outlier and will not be added to our guesstimate)

Canter: 16~27 km/hr which is around the ballpark of an average cyclist’s speed (23~29 km/hr)

Gallop: 40~48 km/hr. (which is just below a lot of speed limits)

However, we must also take into consideration the horse’s stamina.

According to this website, a horse can cover the following distance:

Walk: 51 km without break.

Trot: 32~64 km without break.

Canter: 11 km without break.

Gallop: 3~4 km without break.

So if we take these into consideration, you’d get the following before being forced to make the horse take a break.

Walk: 51 km in 8.5 hours before needing a break.

Trot: We will use the average of 32~64 which is 48 km in 4 hours before needing a break.

Canter: For canter, we will use the average of 16 to 27 km/hr in our calculations which is 21.5 km/hr so 11 km in 0.5 hr (30 minutes) before needing a break.

Gallop: We will use 4 for the approximate 3~4 km and the average of 40~48 km/hr which will give us 44km/hr to give Gallop a chance. So 4 km in 0.09 hr (approximately 5ish minutes) before needing a break.

According to this website, the best way to keep the horse moving without tiring it too quickly is to switch between 2 gaits so let’s try and find the ‘best’ combination.

Okay, now, I can’t find a website that can tell me how many hours or minutes a horse needs before changing back to a more exhausting gait so let’s say Giovanni makes his horse switch gaits at a similar time period as the max of the highest speed we’ll have in the combination. Feel free to correct me on this one (actually, feel free to correct me on any of these, I only sat on a horse once and I was a kid so I don’t even remember it all that well).

We will always start with the lower speed to give the horse a chance to ease into the higher speed and calculate the distance they cover in 1 hr.

Walk + Trot: (6 × 4) + (12 × 4) = 24 + 48 = 72 km per 8 hr = 9 km/hr

Walk + Canter: 3 + 11 = 14 km/hr

Walk (0.1 km per min) + Gallop: 0.5 + 4 = 4.5 km per 5 min = 0.9 per min = 0.9 × 60 = 54 km/hr

Trot + Canter: 6 + 11 = 17 km/hr

Trot (0.2 km per min) + Gallop: 1 + 4 = 5 km per 5 min = 1 km/min = 60 km/hr

Canter (0.36 km per min) + Gallop: 1.8 + 4 = 5.8 km per 5 min = 1.6 km/min = 69.6 (nice) km/hr

(I am soooo regretting doing all these calculations. Pretty sure I fucked some of the calculations up so just think of these as guesstimates)

In conclusion:

Canter + Gallop will give an average of 69 km/hr.

A possible more reasonable choice: Trot + Gallop will give an average of 60 km/hr.

We will go pick Trot + Gallop to give the horse a break (sorta). Walk + Gallop is not accepted because, while 54 km/hr is not a bad number, it will be hard on the horse to change to super fast and then walk every 5 minutes.

Now then, before we continue, we would need to specify the distance Giovanni took. Now, it should be noted that the landscape we have today is not the same landscape they would have had during the 15th century. Not to mention, using Google Map’s bike/car directions makes you use roads that may or may not have existed during that time.

So let’s say that Giovanni is hurrying and doesn’t give a shit about the actual roads (or, he’s like me who sees a road and go “nah, we’re crossing this fucking wheat field, sorry NPCs, should have planted rice!”), this would cut down some km on his travel.

To do this in Google Map, you have to right-click on your starting point and click ‘Measure Distance’ instead of clicking ‘Directions’.

Now, using this feature, we have a rough estimate of the distance he traveled if he traveled straight. (Again, this is highly questionable but we’re giving Giovanni the advantage on this one just to give the lore a chance to make sense because Ubisoft certainly ain’t gonna do it)

Florence to Milan: approximately 237 km.

Milan to Venice: approximately 244 km.

Venice to Florence: approximately 128 km.

Using Trot + Gallop’s 60 km/hr would give us:

Florence to Milan: 3.95 hrs travel time.

Milan to Venice: 4 hrs travel time.

Venice to Florence: 2 hrs travel time.

In total: approximately 9.95 hrs travel time for Florence → Milan → Venice.

With these travel times, it can be argued that the horse did not need to take a break the entire time it was traveling (but this would be heavily advisable). If you wish to make the horse take a break (you should), add 1 hr for each.

Now, if we were being nice to the horse and don’t think Giovanni is a ‘some sacrifices must be made in the interest of time’ kind of asshole, we’ll use Trot + Canter’s 17 km/hr which will give us:

Florence to Milan: 13.9 hrs travel time.

Milan to Venice: 14.3 hrs travel time.

Venice to Florence: 7.5 hrs travel time.

In total: approximately 35.7 hrs travel time for Florence → Milan → Venice.

The horses need a break for all of these so I would suggest adding 1 or 2 hrs for each.

Ending Remarks:

Ubisoft made Giovanni Auditore a bad owner of horses to make him a cool Assassin. Also, horses go fast and should be treated with care and respect.

Things to consider:

It’s possible that it would have been faster to take a boat from Venice to Forli then travel to Florence like the reverse route Ezio used in AC2.

Giovanni can cut down his time even further by just letting the horse gallop the entire way and changing horses whenever he can. Of course, this doesn’t take into consideration the health and safety of the horses and the possibility that Giovanni will get a ‘bad’ horse when he changes horses.
