Some teachers had the NERVE to send a mail complaining that too many students had their cameras off during zoom classes and it was SO hard for the poor poor teachers to teach in such conditions. Their understood that we missed chatting with fellow students in between classes but we COULDN'T see how HARD it was for the teachers. (almost verbatim)

Meanwhile poverty hit students so fucking hard, we had record breaking queues at food-donating charities. My classmates were complaining that when their cameras were off it was because they were crying. Some were home, having to share the space with their families (camera = no privacy). Sometimes we could hear disputes in some students households. Others were isolated in small af dorms, lonely as shit (let's not even talk about foreign students who were even more isolated and away from home). Some had poor connection and could NOT turn their cams on. We were all fucking miserable. I got depression, and i sure wasn't the only fucking one, but hey, luckily enough i wasn't fucking STARVING.

But yeah no, those poor teachers didn't get to see the tears on our faces because we were SUCH BAD STUDENTS unwilling to turn the camera on.

the thing is that palpatine was an absolutely integral central figure in anakin’s life for 36 fucking years, and for HALF OF HIS LIFE palpatine was literally the only person he had at all, and no one wants to delve into it and it makes me feel insane. like that is half his fucking life. more than half!!! palpatine was the most consistently present figure in anakin’s life for the fucking majority of it!!!! anakin loved him, anakin trusted him so deeply he could tell him things he felt like he couldn’t even tell padmé, anakin regarded him as a parental figure, anakin spent half his fucking life completely subservient to him to the most horrific degree, and people talk about the manipulation and call it grooming but it feels like very few are willing to acknowledge the emotional depth of the relationship on anakin’s end because it’s icky. every fix it au is just like “palpatine dies and everything is fine forever” and his constant looming presence is treated like a footnote or a generic mentorship or whatever but it’s not that!!! it’s actually so much worse than that!!!! like i need everyone to actually acknowledge the immense emotional weight this relationship has to anakin like PLEASE

Maria Teresa de Filippis, Lella Lombardi, Divina Galica, Desiré Wilson, and Giovanna Amati did not put their blood, sweat, and tears into breaking barriers in real life only to be erased in fanfiction.

Y/N can be the first female driver in decades. Y/N can be the first female driver to race for a particular team. Y/N can be the first female driver to earn at least one point. Y/N can be the first female driver to stand on the podium. Y/N can be the first female driver to win.

But she is not the first female driver in Formula 1.

Don’t take that away from the real women who sacrificed so much to do what many deemed impossible.

but there are those who will look at these atrocities and say their heart weeps for both sides. they cry over genocidal fascists and pretend that makes them enlightened. they accuse those who unilaterally oppose apartheid and ethnic cleansing of extremism. their cowardice and complicity is heinous. never trust someone who will weep for the murderer while the victim is still bleeding out.
