he's a college student here, roommates with atsushi -- they've been friends for two years now... atsushi, though confused at first and offering to call his doctor friend who's "only scary when she wants to dissect you!!" but eventually he decides that it must be true becuz this aku is very different from his own aku though his personality is still pretty cute -- like when they got in a fight and aku slapped his hand away and atsushi said "ow" cuz it hurt and he just stopped and apologized for the whole day -- seemingly surprised that it would hurt him at all

a few days in this dimension though,

akutagawa wakes up in another bed

he's not traveling to another dimension -- he's travelling through multiple dimensions

this one he wakes up in a small apartment, he looks around for atsushi but he isn't there -- he's confused and disoriented and he gets dressed, is extremely lucky that this aku's phone has the same password as his own, and tries to follow this aku's steps int he hopes of gaining some balance

this aku always visits a coffee shop -- it's written into his calendar and schedule

aku considers ignoring it -- but a flash of white catches his eyes and he walks in, and there behind the counter with a pleasant smile

he doesn't know why atsushi turns red when his face unwillingly melts into something at someone familiar or why he stumbles and trips when aku calls out to him (careful not to use jinko when last atsushi didn't have powers and just Stared at him)

he stays at the cafe wondering if its a coincidence that both universes had atsushi this close

he watches atsushi anyway

a day into this universe and then

he wakes up in a warm bed, comfortable, the sun on his skin from the window, a warm body behind him, an arm over his body-

he jolts up

atsushi jinko

blinks awake, sitting up and with him asking whats wrong and aku's eyes land on a ring

a ring on atsushi's finger "YOU'RE MARRIED???"

"uhh yes dear, we're married um are you sick?"

akutagawa does not faint

a week of domestic bliss

and he wakes up to a pleasantly aching body and atsushi sitting on the bed reaching for his shirt

he hides himself under his blanket, face red as the dots connect

and muffled under his blanket he asks if theyre dating

theres a heavy pause

and a few minutes later the door clicks shut

akutagawa pulls himself out of his blanket

lays there

and in a moment of something strange, writes down a note for this dimension's him to ask again

and then over and over again from one reality to another

They have the same sense of humor, we literally see them tell almost identical jokes. They’re both such dramatic showoffs and they both are schemers, they're both the brains of their group (friends v family)

Beause Yakko isn’t as open with his emotions, he’s more sarcasti. But Max has been truthful about what he feels since Goof Troop. It's there on the surface and he communicates and understands in ways that would be SO good for Yakko. They're two sides of the same coin. They are opposites but they support each others weaknesses. Yakko wants so badly to make people laugh, and it’s so important to him to do so. His self worth is connected to it, but Max doesn’t like his laugh and suppresses it. It practically writes itself. So yeah, there’s all the fun WB/Disney forbidden lovers, but it works off a dynamic that would already work really well. That's why I like them so much

Yakko being happy is a the first part, but having the Warners brought into the family by Goofy Goof, the man with so much understanding and love to give, who GETS kids, and has always let Max be a kid and help him through it, his appearance through Yakko amd Max knowing each other gives the Warners a positive adult figure in their lives who will be there to support them instead of criticize them for being "too much".

Yax isn't JUST about Yakko and Max, it's about the connections these kids make that starts with the eldest opening himself up. It's about learning the world around them isn't just filled with people who want them locked up.

The world is also filled with people who embrace their weirdness and energy, and who will guide them. Even if you just like yax as friends, you have to see the potential there is for all of them

The Warners and the Goofs, to have lives grow richer.

And more, with them being from seperate companies, their worldview would be able to grow to incorporate new ideas and thoughts. The Warners aren't very open with their emotions, so a father son duo who have always been open and communicative would be able to show them the benefits of doing so themselves.

Plus, watching the Warner Siblings wreak havoc with a smile, hurting no innocents, would be exactly the type of thing to make Max smile.

He could help do smaller damage control if need be as well, he's been accounting for his and his Dad's Goof Luck since he was born, and for the fallout of his own insane schemes. Adding in the brilliant and mischievous mind of Max Goof to the minds of our puppy children trio is golden.

Propaganda for Huey Duck/Wakko Warner:

Huey and Wakko are classic opposite attrack characters, while also touches of "you're drawn to people who remind you of your family" thrown in. They're both very autistic coded characters (because their shows are cowards and refuse to say the word) but in opposite ways. Wakko is very outside of the norm where as Huey holds himself to a strict set of rules. While Huey adds a bit of routine to Wakko's life, Wakko encourages Huey to cut back, go outside of his comfort zone at his own pace and also relax a little. Wakko reminds Huey of both his siblings, excitable and dramatic like Dewey, and laid back (compared to his siblings) and mischevious like Louie, where as Huey reminds Wakko of his own siblings. A bit more uptight and bratty like Dot, and intelligent and encouraging like Yakko. They also bring out different sides of each other, Wakko can be gross and messy and Huey somehow finds it charming, and Huey can help Wakko see that he's intelligent and creative in his own ways rather than being outshined by his own siblings. They both also have anger issues, and Wakko would be great at helping Huey to feel his anger rather than always keeping it hidden away. He makes Huey feel seen and heard and taken care of because Huey doesn't have to be the Older BrotherTM around Wakko. Basically just opposites attract autistic kids who help each other come into one another.

imagine she begs someone to give her their shift and it doesn't take much bc they'd all love a free night off when they usually don't get one. she'd gradually get a little annoyed as the day goes on and she starts feeling the exhaustion of the long day set in and they haven’t been by yet. it’s the only thing keeping her going through the long shift. she's skating around looking for their car every time she takes an order out, but it's getting close to closing and it's slowed down enough her and the other carhop are taking turns with the orders to even out tips. she’s starting to regret asking to swap shifts when its thirty to close and she hasn’t seen them.

the other carhop happens to be a formula one fan a formula one fan, so all day reader had to listen to them complain ab missing the race as they watched it on their phone and narrated the exciting parts to the whole place, shouting whenever someone did an overtake or whatever. reader was too busy thinking about her boys to notice the similarities in the names. she caught their names when she delivered their last orders, repeating the names lando and oscar for the rest of her shift so she wouldn't forget them, but somehow she doesn't connect the dots when her coworker is shouting that oscar retired and that lando got a podium. then lando and oscar are there and she doesn’t know its them, she doesn’t rly have a way of knowing they’re there unless she happens to take their order out, and this time the other carhop takes their stuff out while she’s entering another order or making drinks. then suddenly the other carhop comes in and freaking out about the two formula one drivers in the drive thru and she’s like, seriously? you call them high performance athletes and they’re eating this shit?

she’s soo making fun of them and joking ab how their trainers are going to punish them, until another order comes thru and she has to pause her jokes to take the order out. she realizes that the formula one drivers she’d been poking fun at are in fact the two boys she’s been waiting on. the two that have been showing up in pajamas every day are now in race suits and grinning like idiots. she recognizes them instantly from the stories her coworker has told and photos she’s been shown, and is seriously disappointed bc theyre dating. she was fairly certain at least one of them was flirting with her, like sonic food kinda sucks, so why would two pretty foreigners come to the same shit hole fast food place in their fancy car when they could definitely afford the fine dining in the city?? because she’s there of course. or that’s what she told herself until she saw them holding hands or one of their hands on the other’s thigh before they noticed her approaching.

she tries not to show the disappointment but they’d notice something is off and ask her whats up and she tries to just say she’s tired from working all day and oscar’s like, “well didn’t you work this late the last few days?” and lando adds, “yeah, we’ve been coming back to see you and you seemed happier yesterday!” and she’s suddenly blushing and doesn’t know what to say because she was right! she was sooo right! but also confused because they’re definitely boyfriends? why are they going out of their way to see her? she’s thinking too hard on it and can’t think of a response. oscar takes her silence as discomfort, and tells lando to stop being weird because now she thinks they’re crazy stalkers. she’d giggle and say its okay, that she knew they weren’t coming for the food but that she doesn’t know why they came for her considering they have each other. lando being soo smooth and saying “you could have us too, if you wanted.” and oscar’s like, “again, lando. coming on too strong. she’s gonna think we’re weird.”

she totally does think they’re a little weird, but in an endearing way, like, two formula one drivers coming in for a midnight snack and thinking she’s so pretty they have to keep going back and spend hundreds of dollars on food they’re going to throw away at the hotel just so she’ll bring it out to them? certainly weird, not something she ever thought would happen to her, but then her shift is over and she’s climbing into their backseat while completely disregarding the critical rule of never getting in a stranger’s car.

her coworker who is a fan watching her shamelessly flirt w them and then get in her car after clearing out her locker and swapping her skates out for shoes, absolutely in shock that those two drivers are the two men reader has been giggling over for days.

Any tips for an amateur writer? I've been writing a pmd:eos fic series on ao3 that's been getting praise, but I still feel inexperienced

Yooo pokemon mistery dungeon explorers of sky? Hell yeah best pokemon game to make fanfic of, easily. its an absolute BANGER Ok i got a few pieces of advice for ya, i don't mind sharing! 1 - One of the most important ones for me personaly, is to know and understand yourself and your own style of writing. By what i mean its like; you get an idea for a story, or a concept. But knowing your writing style, your capability to write scenes, and even the characters in question, do you KNOW that you can write this story? Its actually pretty important; Because writing takes up a LOT of time and effort, and if you just start blanking halfway into it, you'll have wasted so much time with a story that you don't exactly know how to do. I personaly have so many ideas, but i only execute on the ones that i am aware i can work on, and would know where to take, even if the idea is small. (For example, i had an idea for writing a fic of rarijack but only when theyre older, after the events of FIM. I started writing immediately because i knew exactly that i could do it; and am already 25 pages in and might finish today, heh) 2 - Write horizontaly, not verticaly. by that i mean; don't start at the beginning and work from there, consider all of your story's structure before you even start, act 1, 2, and 3, and its most pivotal moments. Much like you would sketch a drawing before lining and coloring, its important as hell that you are planning all your setups and payofss in advance, all of the arcs and character progression in tandum and stuff. This applies well to the first advice too! Don't be afraid to make an ugly ass sketch of a story, as long as youre aware that this is indeed a story you can make. Make the skeleton before adding the meat, and only after do you add the makeup. And as you write, more ideas will come to you! 3 - This one is more for my own, personal taste, but never be afraid of writing multigenre! By that like. If you're writing romance, dont be afraid to put action, if you're writing drama, dont be afraid to put a moment of comedy here and there; stories are infinitely more interesting when they're not just one note, not just a single tone! And the readers would absolutely be delighted on having moments of respite or shock, it keeps them on their toes. 4 - This one is hard to execute, and i cant give examples that arent long, but like. None of your scenes and sequences should be just what they are in the surface. Like; A character knows something that the other doesnt, or the audience knows something that neither character knows, or the underlying conflict is constantly clashing silently. A short example i can give is a scene in on of my fics in which a character was being asked about her past, and she spoke ernestly, but every once in a while i'd add a "She lied" after the information she provided; And i didn't need to add anything else, that in itself is enough for the audience to understand and consider why this character is doing what shes doing, and just that simple little thing added an really interesting layer to the simple conversation. Essentialy, there's no reason why a conversation should *just* be a conversation in your stories, and there is no reason why you should have filler for the sake of it. Pacing is important, and you can make every single scene and chapter on your story interesting, nothing stops you but you! The "She lied" thing is specialy important, because you don't have to treat your audience like babies. I didn't explain why she lied, because if any reader was paying attention, they'd understand completely, everything would simply click. A character can sometimes say something, and all you need to do is write the tone of their voice, and the reader can already connect the dots, or even something as simple as describing a facial expression or body language without explaining why it is what it is; It makes your story more engaging! I have a million other advice, but i felt like these were the most important ones i specificaly could provide. Good luck!

i think he guards wanting to execute them and the 'crucification' and the trucks would lead to like. an alternate ending to the event? i think the server wouldve gotten reset no matter what but if they didnt work together to escape we wouldve gotten to see the final activity. is anyone else bummed about no 'crucification of an inmate' i was so curious about that. who was it going to be. why. how would that have unfolded

yeah i assumed everyone was going to be killed as they were treated that way with the last meals and stuff. so i’d say it was definitely planned to kill them all off. the why part is a little complicated because as we know cucurucho sent them there for a “vacation” but its… a prison. and the guards and officers all work for the federation so going off of the assumption here that the plan to execute them all the prisoners was ordered and or approved by cucurucho or one of the federation higher ups then that means cucurucho sending them to the prison was a planned death sentence. he wanted to get rid of them at that point right? it also leads me to wonder why the guard chose to help them escape because reasonably you could make the argument of oh after days of them there the guard out of the good of his heart set them free knowing they’d meet a deadly end but i wish we knew more about that guard in particular. though i guess theres a sort of grateful part of me we dont know the full story so we can theorize and try to connect any dots possible. i always go back to the why kill them all now? but my mind firmly sticks to the well theyre a failed experiment answer. i think thats the most likely reason. they were being disposed of. i remember them being called the last batch so i wonder if this is how it always ends. IF THERES MULTIPLE ISLANDS WITH THIS SAME EXPERIMENT RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME. then is this prison and that inmates crucifixion how it always ends? is that how they get rid of the failed batches of experiments?

theyre enemies plain and simple, they hate each other, its a beautiful show to watch of them absolutely disgusted by the other but forced to interact [ IF ONLY THEY GOT MORE FUCKING SCREENTIME TOGETHER JESUS CHRIST ] anyways its the angst potential, hawks dirtying his hands just to get into the league only to then betray the entire league </3 hawks dirtying his hands just for the sake of the mission for the sake of dabi letting him in because that WAS his only contact so hes the one hes "closest too" dabi the evil motherfuck toying with hawks, making him do all the things he hates and knowing what hawks is truely doing. they hate each other in canon plain and simple they dont care if neither one dies or not. hawks even STILL views endeavor as an equal even after all hes done (whether or not you think its valid is up to you i think that hawks needs a LITTLE MORE TIME AND SPACE to rethink the whole "yeah no enjis cool now hes alright :D" shtick.... personally i hate it i just want him to be a little more..... now heres where the dots connect though through fandom genius. now when dabis first introduced hes blue and emo and firey and dramatic (theatre kid) mentally unwell, tired yet manic, daddy issues supreme, body horror circus party, the whole palooza. we ALL been known, his daddys a top hero who made him a top villain. and now hawks, who was an enigma at first, man too fast for his own good, red, arrogant, laidback, yet serious and calculating, heart of gold underneath all of that dirty work with a like for trashy preppy outfits. at first it was just the enemies to lovers, dabi hates endeavor and heroes, hawks admires him to the sun and is one of the best heros... AND THEN WE GET HAWKS BACK STORY. hawks. hero. raised by a villain. if the red and blue, sun and moon, emo/goth and jock, FLAME AND FEATHERS, if those parallels werent enough the father issues sure will! dabi, hero father made him a villain, hawks, villain father made him a hero. the amount of parallels these two have was fuel for the growing fire.

FIRE IN WHICH IT WAS FANON. fanon dabihawks is BEAUTIFUL. the best and probably only light dabihawks will ever shine in 😀😀😀 < gripping horikoshis neck even thought nothing will happen but angst for these two. slightly shifted canon compliant with some queer writing and spicing up the characters a SMIDGE, making them more fit to how they ACTAULLY ARE (in my very (not) humble opinion horikoshi you dont know your own characters like we do) all of that is the mountain of fanfic tropes. we already have enemies to lovers but add a little bit of that battle for dominance play and sexual tension, heavy flirting and fuck buddies OOO BOY. they play and they bite and hawks is number one pretty boy and charms his way past dabi "probably hasnt been flirted with in his life," OR dabi being the brat and attention seeker he is and pushing hawks buttons before dabi gets put in his place. hawks turned genuine lov member because then thats where he sees the TRUTH. or hawks still killing jin but REGRETS IT TO THE MAX and dabi finds him a little after and hawks begging for forgiveness. the league was his only true family but hes been a hero under the commission for so long that killing him was second nature until he realizes. rehabilitation after the war and dabi being captured and hawks still visiting him wherever dabis being held. if you make them even a LITTLE BIT GAY it literally makes things more tragic than just "lets hate each other even though we're walking parallels"

one very popular and loved aspect is red tailed hawks avian hawks and not just his fierce wings. THIS ADDS TO THE MOUNTAIN. youve got a multitude of bird facts like torpor, nesting, cloacas if youre into that, preening, MATING HABITS. hawks being a spy to the league only to see how open they are to their members quirks. spinner and his lizardness needing warmth and insects and shedding and togas fascination and need for blood ( not quirk reasons shes mentally ill but there are healthy ways to get blood so) hawks seeing the league being accepting open AND welcoming to when we dont see ANY OF THAT in his hero work??? especially with dabis inside knowledge of how shit the hero system is with quirk discrimination??? youve got so much to work with here JUST from the aspect of making hawks a hawk mutant. he likes how shiny dabi is with his staples and piercings, he loves the natural warmth coming from him (even if dabis skin is cold), hawks lowkey loving the smell of blood from dabis scars (bird of prey) dabi helping hawks be open to the more avian side of him, he imprints on him and dabi becomes mate in hawks mind, IN TURN hawks showing dabi that even the most shittiest of origins, you can still do good, hawks knowing full well that quirks sucks (molting season, talon clipping, wing care, the overstimulation of senses like sounds hawks has become numb to) and he coaxs that little burning fire thats still in dabi, that he can still do good (dabi said that killing innocent people drove him mad in a negative way so he doesnt enjoy it) two broken souls from quirk discrimination finding solace even with all the shit hero AND villain society treat them. this leads to, along with those above, hurt comfort, slow burn, mutual healing, mutual pining, sunshine x grump, girlboss and malewife, overly affectionate x touch adverse, old married couple, sacrifices too much x sacrifices too little, romantic virgin x romantic confident, annoyed x annoying, gets into fights x patches them up, OBLIVIOUSNESS TO THE MAX, idiots in love, domestic husbands ETC ETC (and the more kinky spicy aspects when it comes to bird genes and a fire quirk)

what makes them even JUCIER is if you make the commission EVIL. EXACTLY WHAT DABI HATES AND DESPISES. another common trope is to make hawks be lowkey abused by the commission hence the whole child soldier thing but hawks has been living with then his whole life so its like, fine for him. dabi being his savior, dabi showing him the league can be his true family, dabi, a villain, being hawkss hero. hawks, who would get his hands dirty just for the sake of justice, shows dabi true heroes are still alive. hawks being an avian mutant adds to the juice because if it was just hawks with fierce wings well you could paint it as just the child soldier BUT WITH THE HETEROMORPH youve got commission being absolute JERKS and forcing hawks to mask his avian-ness, forced to endure people touching his wings left and right, forced to not perch, forced to have them preen his feathers in the way that society views as "perfect," clipping his talons, making him live in a boring ass apartment because "hawks heroes dont care about sentiments, you have to be presentable and collecting 'shiny things' isnt herolike," the league being the EPITOME of quirk freedom, hawks finding solace in the league because hes actually able to be himself and being a heteromorph isnt SHOULDNT be bad, dabi being able to polish his old big brother instincts and take care of hawks nurse him back to help and free him from his bird cage.

SPEAKING OF BIRD CAGES, another beautiful fanon interpretation is DABI HIMSELF BEING A PART OF THE LEAGUE BEFORE HIS REBIRTH. OW. youve got friends to lovers and all the fluff that comes with it (as much as it is being in the commission) dabi and hawks growing up together in the commission only for endeavor to pull dabi out and hawks loses his one true best friend :[ dabi and hawks not knowing how to socialize with other kids but between dabis temper yet caringness and hawks being shy yet a determined bastard, they click LOVINGLY. they bond over shitty fathers (hawks not knowing the extent to his idol OR you can change it up and have hawks despise endeavor secretly but the commission knows hes adored endeavor so he has to suck up the urge to MAIM and KILL the flaming bag of shit because at the time endeavor aint "changing" and he acts EXACTLY like hawkss birth father.) hawks imprinting on dabi his first real friend, taking care of each other through the commissions pains and abuse, sacrificing themselves in order for the other to not be punished. MAJOR ANGST WHEN IT COMES TO DABIS DEATH and hawks loses his spark and throws himself into training to distract the howling pain of his bird side and instincts as he lost a flock member (and potential mate), ONLY TO FIND DABI ALIVE YEARS LATER. the angst of reconciliation to see your love turn yo the darkest sides (dabi being a villain and hawks being a hero both of who they respectively hate) the angst of dabi knowing that without him the commission successfully brainwashed hawks to the point of betrayal on their side and hawks knowing his old beloved is now on the side in which he has to take down and kill (his old beloved truely did die if this is the path dabi went to) THE FRIENDS TO LOVERS TO STRANGERS TO ENEMIES AND BACK TO LOVERS. the amount of aus/canon divergent situations you can put these two from those three things TOGETHER or SEPARATE/SOLO, soulmates, quirk accident, princess carry, found family, exes to lovers, role reversal, fantasy au, royal au, cyberpunk au, dystopian, apocalypse, sickfic, honeypot turned non sexual intimacy, highschool au, civilians au, quirk swap, body swap, arranged marriage, actual genuine married couple, kindergarten au, amnesia fics, time travel, time travel fix it fics, space au, star wars au, pirates and mermaids, and the wonderful beautiful amount of crack/crack treated seriously is UDGODLY. hawks pranking endeavor, the lov and hawks playing video games, trophy wife dabi, watching disney movies, coming out at the worse times, "HAWKS/DABI WDYM YOUR FUCKING A VILLAIN/HERO," one or more of the todorokis (minus endeavor) being in the league and dabi hating it but hawks loves it (adores shouto, loves and is terrified of fuyumi, gets along w natsuo, DABI YOUR MOM IS A FALLEN ANGEL), dabis mom being in the league and is a better mom in canon and dabis like what the shit or this is my mom fuckers touch her and your burnt and hawks is like but what about affectionate touching (hugs, headbumps etc), hawks learning to build a pillow fort and experience actual good childhoos activities, dabi walking in on hawks (and maybe spinner and toga) indulging in his avian-ness for the first time, dabi cooking for hawks, hawkss nesting habits, gift giving

im actually going to tear into totk’s dragon’s tears/ memories rn bc i remember feeling distinctly unsatisfied with them when i got all of them so im just going to write some general bullet points about them, about what i dislike or maybe what i do actually like about them, leaving out both master sword scenes and the mummydorf one because i’m here to talk about the stuff in the past not that

- off the bat (i play this game in english btw so all of this is based on the english text and translation i am aware some stuff is slightly different in other languages) im not really a fan of how the descriptions of all of the tears is just a literal description of what happens?? i think my issue with it is that some of the text is a little bit too in depth, as in it just tells you literally everything about the scene. this might be nitpick-y but i personally dont like it

- what’s up with zelda saying ‘but that must mean...!’ at the end of the scene. is it suggesting that she’s made the realization that rauru and sonia are the first king and queen of hyrule? because they literally tell her that like ten seconds before. i guess it’s suggesting she’s realizing she’s in the past but... idk the texts says ‘she’s left startled by a suspicion that she’s heard those names before’ yeah theyre the first king and queen of hyrule?? they tell her that. they tell her their names and that they are the first leaders of hyrule is she just now connecting the dots that she’s in the past? that’s what the next cutscene implies. but all of the surrounding dialogue and the description don’t suggest that that’s what she’s realizing i feel like this was kind of muddled in the translation

- why did sonia elbow rauru he was just standing weird he didnt say anything this isnt a nitpick im just confused. is it because he’s not being very empathetic towards what zelda’s going through? she elbows him and then she goes and talks to zelda why even elbow rauru. ordinarily you elbow someone like that if you mean for them to go do something why elbow someone if you’re going to do the thing you want anyways

- why doesnt zelda offer to help with the purah pad or anything like that. what happened to her sheikah tech fascination from botw. not even as someone actually familiar with the technology who could give mineru some points as to how it works

- what are sonia and zelda doing behind rauru when he shoots that insane fucking beam at the mulduga swarm they’re clearly doing something with their stones but like... are they amplifying rauru’s power somehow?? what do time powers have to do with the beam of light i dont- what were they doing please the text description only mentions him using his powers so are sonia and zelda just... supporting his powers? idk man

- dragon tear #5 is a whole can of worms with its worse-than-oot reenactment of that one scene from oot. why the focus on sonia and her tear btw. i mean yeah she dies to motivate rauru and zelda but like. why not aim for the new girl who probably doesn’t know how to use it as much and is probably more likely to be separate from the king who can shot insane lasers. im really not a fan of this scene for how strongly the game sides with rauru and zelda being passive and judgemental but ganondorf is literally the best part of it there’s a lot of character in just how he picks up his sword and stands up to leave

- putting memories 6 and 7 together just because of how there was just. no fucking care put into the idea of zelda learning to use her time powers. memory 6 zelda talks about wanting to use her time powers and sonia gives her tips on how she could use it and visualize the use of it and then in memory 7 she can just use it perfectly with great control and timing. why even bother talking about her nothing yet understanding how to use it when the very next scene she just uses it like it’s nothing. how much time has passed we get nothing to show us zelda trying to practice this power just. nope. she’s good she can use it perfectly. also more awkward dialogue sonia saying ‘what a picture zelda paints of him’ as she is. looking directly at zelda. change the line to like, ‘what a picture you paint of him’ she is literally looking right at zelda so why would she say it like that

- generally i feel like memory six should have been before 4 and 5 (4 being where she uses some power to... support??? rauru and it being before memory 5 so that there isnt this weird break in between the memories concerning ganondorf.) memory 6 does not have anything to do with memory 4 or 5 so just put it earlier so there isnt a weird shift in focus between the two big ganondorf scenes

- good god they introduce the idea of sonia and zelda being aware of ganondorf using a fake zelda but theres literally nothing about it having been a problem or them having experience or like. anything. they just TELL you that they know and suggest that it’s been like. a thing for a bit??? also obligatory ganondorf’s face model rigging is fucked comment he’s still the best part

- the pacing of these memories is just weird in general, memories 7 and 8 being separate but the same scene is strange when other memories are long as fuck but cover one event each, plus theres clearly barely any passage of time between memories 7 and 8 it almost feels like they were split up to fill space or just because otherwise it’d be... too long? man idk

- ‘queen sonia needs you!’ girl she is DEAD good fucking luck doing anything to help her

- ganondorf’s horse and its armor both look sick as fuck i really wish you got to see more of it outside the memory it appears in

- everything about the original sages honestly sucks. they aren’t characters they’re just walking macguffins. they have no names and are not relevant or mentioned or make any appearance until they are needed by the story. why does the zora sage talk about getting word about the attacked gerudo village in this scene when like. they’ve all met up and have clearly. been together for a bit. when she gives them the news it’s clearly the first they’ve heard of it... but... why would she wait until this moments to give this info unless for the benefit of the player watching the scene. why does the ZORA sage have this news and not... the gerudo sage?? what’s with the masks. they’re all made of zonaite or whatever sure theyre gifts from rauru but like. i hate that it kind of denotes them being subservient and lower than him and the zonai. honestly i really hate this scene in general mostly because of the uncomfortable showing of how rauru absolutely holds power over them and despite them being leaders as well they are expected to be wholly blindly loyal to him. rauru only gives them these stones when he needs their aid and they swear loyalty too him soon after but you also see that sonia and mineru have stones, too, so they’re clearly withholding these things despite it being kind of reasonable for him to give each race their own secret stone as further proof of their pact? there is so much shit to be said about the imperialistic themes or whatever in this fucking story and i really hate it

- i do kinda like how the next scene shows you that the one rock in the corner of that first hidden room in the forgotten temple is sonia’s grave

- zelda’s phrasing and description of how she and link found ganondorf is weird to me ‘he’s still alive’ ‘he lives on’ girl that was a mummy. he was not moving until you got there. he’s undead at best as far as you know. this is def a nitpick but eh. also the reliance on link is a... bit odd when zelda does not actually know that link is safe until she gets the master sword. its fine but still. also her shell-shocked expression after rauru talks about her being in the past for a reason is a bit... it doesn’t fit her emotion it’s kind of similar to the expression she had when sonia was killed

- the memory about the imprisoning war starts with practically the whole story up until now being repeated back to you by mineru with a decent amount of bias on mineru’s part and while it’s fine because of some of the extra stuff you learn but it does a lot more telling rather than showing when it comes to the actual imprisoning war and... idk the whole thing about their ‘fight’ kind of falls flat when you don’t actually see any fighting you just see that the sages have gotten their asses beat. i think it would have been a little interesting if in the god-awful repetitive sage-awakening scenes they had actually showed you the og sages fighting ganondorf instead of just. slow-mo freeze-frames for whatever. once again ganondorf if the best part of the scene

- the rest of the memories are fine idc

i get the feeling that the japanese-to-english translation was either all-around rough or somehow rushed, because some of the phrases in the game as well as some of the dialogue is really awkward and... could have been better. i don’t know how it works but it feels like a lot of it was very literal, direct translation and no one at noa thought that it ought to be tweaked just a little bit

these memories also do a fuck-ton of telling rather than showing and it really is like they don’t really trust you to connect the dots, and some of it does come off like they either didn’t want to make more memories or ran out of time or something. i felt like the memory of ganondorf just summoning his monsters and riding on his cool horse could have been a bit longer to actually show us the forces of hyrule fighting him and having a hard time with it

a lot of the character animations doesn’t have a whole lot of personality to them, ganondorf is the character who had the most distinct and interesting movements. rauru and sonia had their... singular movement (rauru putting a hand to his chin and sonia taking zelda’s hands) and zelda was kind of just... standing around and reacting to stuff, and neither mineru nor any of the other sages had any really interesting animations asides from mineru’s coughing fit in memory 16 (plus her reclining chair that was a nice touch). very few of their movements really express anything about the characters besides some really baseline values or traits.

the ordering of some memories is kind of odd, the excessive flashbacks in memory 17 are a bit much, the telling rather than showing, the sometimes awkward dialogue, a lot of the scenes are characters just... talking at each other, you don’t actually see very much of hyrule in the past or any characters beyond the main four, and it really did nothing to actually get me to care about these characters at all.

everyone was talking about how suspensful and unsettling it was so i was excited bc the few secinds i saw from the trailer james mcavoy looked pretty menacing

but i watched it last night and like,, barely anything happened. youd think it would be a kidnapping or house invasion type movie but not at all the main family gets invited to a house w ppl they met on vacation,, like theyre kinda there willingly and they realize oh yeah we barely know these people

the bad family acts kind of weird for most of the movie, the MCs really only realize james mcavoys in-movie family is dangerous in the last like 20 minutes of the movie like

when i tell you nothing happens this whole movie HAHA like i checked the run time at one point and realized there was half an hour left and i was like wait what it ended so fast lmfao

its rated R and idk why either. i think from the swearing but usually R thrillers are for violence... the violence was SO tame. and that sounds weird to say but idk show us exactly how twisted and evil he can be. all he did was act a little overbearing and space violating

the title doesnt really make sense either. i know why its named that (smth james does OFFSCREEN in the movie) but he never said "speak no evil" in the movie or any mention alluding to it and other than connecting the dots between the thing he does and the title (which i just realized btw) it doesnt make sense at all

so i like to imagine that my ovenist is an absolute simp for the other four but he’s not as obvious about it bc like he’s a very affectionate person towards friends so before the polycule is formed the lovers dont pick up on the fact that he would do ANYTHING for them

HOWEVER the lovers are soooo incredibly obvious that Terry (my ovenist) is like ‘wait. wait do they like me like that. all four of them ???? my love is reciprocated?!?!?!’ and very casually freaks out about this realization to his friends (his friends that consist of other gpgp characters and some characters from another game cuz the brainrot is strong LOLOL)

ive mentioned before that Keh becomes a massive simp when he realizes that he fell in love w the ovenist, he is the most obvious

like he’s always giving gifts to them and complimenting the ovenist cuz Keh noticed that the ovenist’s love language is words of affirmation and also he’d do anything for the ovenist

and like. Terry notices the sudden 180 in attitude n is like 👀🤔 until one day he’s hanging out w his friends and Keh is there, and he’s being a lil mean and Terry just looks at him like >:( and tells him to not be mean and Keh actually listens and stops

and Terry’s like ‘oh he’s in love with me’ cue screaming into pillow after everyone leaves

Alicante is the second most obvious cuz of his whole tsundere type behavior

i like to think Alicante falls in love during the mother’s day event when Terry helps him reconnect w his mom (in this universe takes place before chapter 4 and 5, which is why Alicante helps with going against Bechamel)

but Alicante just acts in the same way as before so it takes a little longer for the ovenist to notice until Alicante does the whole ‘it’s not like i like you or anything!’ and some teasing from Plant Lady (Alicante n Plant Lady are roommates in this story) which is when Terry connects the dots and cue screaming into his pillow again

3rd most obvious is Bechamel, similar to Keh in that there was a noticeable change in attitude towards the ovenist

its more of a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers story with Bechamel and the ovenist cuz yk. he literally shut her business down (but didnt reveal it to the public) so she’s like upset abt it ofc

but when she does fall in love w Terry, she starts doing stuff for him (her love language is acts of service imo) but she’s not like loud abt it yk? its only when Terry asks Bechamel to help him w a thing and she does it w/o question or complaint that he’s like ‘wait. wait what’ and starts reviewing their interactions over the last few months (cue screaming into pillow LMAOO)

and last but not least, the least obvious (but still pretty obvious) of the bunch, Dr. Price!

he’s the least obvious because like he exudes chadm and charisma, and after they become friends he regularly jokingly flirts w the ovenist and the ovenist is flustered but flirts back

thats their whole dynamic and Dr Price like slowly falls in love with the ovenist, and when he realizes it he suddenly gets shy about the flirting

he still flirts but its not as confidently as before and the ovenist notices and at first he thinks ‘oh no he doesn’t like me DD:’ but when Dr Price starts visiting more often and staying for longer does he have the realization ‘oh he’s just in love with me’ cue screaming into pillow ODHSKDH

played symptoms of deceit a couple days ago and the concept of every character having an associated sea creature was really cool so ofc i had to make my own oc/mc! a sea bunny! i dont have a name for them bc i suck at names but yknow what i have? Lore. ok yapping (and the ship dynamic thing) under the cut because i really talk a Lot.

first of all like i said theyre a sea bunny because i love bunnies so the choice was very clear. their color scheme is entirely inspired by sea bunnies (black white yellow green orange are all sea bunny colors) and a lot of their design aspects like their freckles, fluffy hair, their eyes being dotted, blue blush just like thaumo etc. oh yeah also theyre nonbinary and use he/she/they pronouns all interchangeably. theyre pretty strongly connected to their associated animal but not that strongly.

since sea bunnies have short lifespans i made them chronically ill (theyd have met thaumo at the hospital). they were actually going to die young but thankfully survived, however they still have a really weak constitution and struggle a lot with anything that requires physical effort even simple things. their parents basically began neglecting them as soon as they had another child, leaving them at the hospital to keep them out of sight since they were "a burden." as a result, hes really insecure about burdening others especially because of his illness and weakness. he knows he needs to depend on others for help and hates it. this makes her really reserved and withdrawn, especially since she never had many friends and was even picked on by other kids her age when she was young. if anything, thaumo and the other kid were really her only actual friends as a child.

if i had to say their type, itd be someone they can trust (looks at thaumo and nalis... yeah good luck with that); someone who makes them feel safe and stable because theyre generally really insecure and have huge abandonment issues. she likes people who take care of her without making her feel like a burden but will simultaneously refuse to be vulnerable and ask for help unless she really trusts someone because shes scared of driving them away otherwise; so itd have to be someone who knows her well enough and is perceptive enough to offer help proactively. shes prone to fainting out of nowhere so i like to think that nalis constantly drops snacks at her desk to make sure she has something to eat out of concern for that. i think he would really really love nalis (whether platonically or not doesnt matter) because nalis feels reliable and has this familiar "big brother" vibe about him that makes him feel safe and comfortable. of course, hes also extremely fond of thaumo (thaumo shenanigans aside) because he was his first ever friend and he really cherishes him. so basically: i cant tell you who his favorite is. (i can tell you mine though. its thaumo.)

theyre kinda dense because they have like, no social skills, and so theyd kinda end up enabling the two manlosers love interests without realizing it. hed definitely be horrified when he catches thaumo killing people but he would try to rein thaumo in like a puppy, except he doesnt realize thaumo relishes the attention and hes probably not doing much to help the situation. she also would trust nalis almost blindly, and almost even make up his excuses for him, which just... makes the whole manipulation shit easier for him lol. shes just so socially inept and fond of the two that she doesnt know how to correctly handle the situations they put her in.

oh, by the way, the bunny plushie theyre holding is their most prized possession. it was a gift from their mom when they first got sent to the hospital to keep them company. they were scared of dying alone, so theyd always hold onto the bunny wherever they went, hoping the bunny would be there in their final moments. ofc even after they managed to survive they still held onto the bunny for years because its a comfort item for them. i think thaumo would be jealous of the damn plushie but he wouldnt dare ruin it because he witnessed firsthand just how important it is to them and he wouldnt wanna break their heart. oh and just like sea bunnies they can release toxins when threatened but they almost never do, especially not around thaumo or nalis because theyre scared to hurt them even more than theyre scared of them. they have a degree of poison resistance since they can absorb it for later use.

DEADWOOD DEFENDERS - an au that asks a question literally nobody else has asked: what if things were FREAKIER!

dwd is an au where instead of being picked to become the prime defenders, all 3 of them (and later ashe) are kept in/sent to deadwood so WATCH doesnt have to worry about them, because theyre... a lot weirder

FYI - obviously this all takes place in deadwood, so im leaning a LOT into my own personal speculation and headcanons here. powers have also been toned down because i cant imagine a world with their current powers where theyd be hidden away no matter what this au version of WATCH thinks

william is a lot more dead from the outset, but not as bad as he is at current canon. he also has much less control over his powers and doesnt have ghostshaping. right before dakota and vyncent transfer, one of his best friends cory was reported to WATCH as having powers and because of this, his ghost hunting crew of the unwitness protection program have been reluctant to get up to their usual "fun". also theres definitely still monster attacks but theyre a lt less intense than they seemed to be in canon so nobody really connects the dots

dakotas also more dead!! well not really. but he is Very Aware he was dead for a bit, and WATCH is also very aware. he still had his martial arts training, and turned himself in to WATCH hoping he'd be sent to one of their training programs and get to be a real hero. but uh. WATCH had.. different ideas. and what better use for this kid with very clearly superntural shit going on than as a guide for this OTHER kid with supernatural shit that theyve been desperately trying to deal with!

vyncent is just trying his fucking best here. this version of fauna was a lot more "vengeful spirits" than dragons, and instead of the greats being confined to vyncents head he can see them as spirits and they can possess him, though hes still the only one who can hear them otherwise. WATCH had no fucking idea what to do with him, since they couldnt just toss this guy who doesnt even know what a phone is into deadwood (their favourite dumping ground for things hey dont want to worry about) alone. enter dakota!

when vyncent and dakota move to deadwood, theyre pretty much just.. given an apartment, money, the timetable for the school bus and very little else. however!! WATCH did the bare minimum and sends tide out to check on them every couple weeks or so. officially hes just there for a day to make sure theyre both still nebulusly alive and give them what money they need, check on their powers, that stuff. but unofficially he and dakota still manage to have their father-son dynamic but its a lot fucking funnier when they only see eachother once or twice a month and tide is banned from speaking with them unless its an emergency

"how do they meet?" i hear you ask. well. as far as WILLIAM knows, it was on his first day back after everyone got over him disappearing into the woods for a week and let him go to school again. but in reality he ran into them when he was still trying to get home post cliffdiving incident, looking like he just got mauled, and yelled at them for being in the woods because its dangerous before stumbling off in what was honestly . probably the wrong way. dakota doesnt realise it was william when he sees him in school and vyncent is honestly kinda intimidated by it and also is partially convinced william is some sort of spirit which. he isnt wrong. but he isnt fully right either. or a wereworld, because thats funny. but he isnt sure if theyre real in this world so he doesnt ask. he tries to ask dakota but all dakota knows about deadwood is "its weird" so he just says Yeah probably! and moves the fuck on

ashe is in this too!! since theres no pd in this au, nobody raided harttowa to capture wavelength until much later. while WATCH does still crack down on the operation, he has enough time to get the hell out of there with ashe. but since ashe never becomes friends with them, he gets a LOT riskier with his book and has An Incident. at this point, with watch AND overlord on his ass and his kid running the risk of dying or killing a lot of other people, he decides to move them to the only place too weird for heroes to go: deadwood! ashe is one of the only people who can safely go into the woods without getting horribly killed or changed, likely bc of the books protection. he'd meet william for the first time trying to figure out what the hell is going on, because of course he didnt ask if its ok to go into the haunted fucking woods, and william has to fucking bodily drag him out while explaining all the horrible death that happens there before realising OMG NEW WOODS FRIEND and begins assimilating her into the group

as for plot. um. ask me later. KIDDING ok but im only in the beginnings of one of those. this au is less mnm and more toned down call of cthulu, since thats what deadwood has been compared to a couple times before. mal and the spirit world still feature, but theres a lot more focus on trying to unravel the mysteries of this town and the woods around it while trying not to die or go insane or die worse

well, when I was trying to come up with the name of tommy's city I knew it was by the river and it's a port city so I wanted it to be related to water in a sense, but I still wanted it to sound more medievalish. Val is a shortened form of Vale/Valley, and broek is just me doing a weird spelling of brook. so it technically is just 'river valley'

it was so fun planning out the culture/fashion differences between the capital and the riverlands. like, there isn't a huge amount of difference, but nobility in the capital and along the coastline are usually kept up to date with the latest fashion trends and the like, and also the weather at the capital and along the coast is different than it is further inland in the riverlands. since they don't have the coastal regulation, it gets much warmer in the summer and much cooler in the winter there compared to the coastal cities. so that also affects the fashion trends.

lol thank you I try very hard to keep everyone in character while throwing them into these wildly different situations. I don't know why I have a thing for making jack a royal guard it just fits him, but as I'm sure you can already tell rose!jack is very different from stars!jack who are both extremely different from glass!jack while all still being forms of c!jack. it's a fun nuance for me to play with.

I definitely wanted to show how unprepared tommy is for this sort of court life. he's 13 and bloodline wise isn't anywhere close to the throne. this isn't something he was ever taught to expect as a possibility. once again just emphasizes how much of an out of left field choice this was for sam to make.

eli had the idea for the bit of clingyduo pulling that shit in court. it was so funny I couldn't not include it.

I'm sure you can guess but uh, while he might be a sweet kid now tommy is going to be very different by the end of this fic. :)
