I’m actually super proud of this piece, I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone to do something dynamic & complex with hopefully a somewhat interesting composition, and I really worked hard on it. I’ve been feeling kind of down on my art recently tbh, like I’ve stagnated a bit, and this piece really helped me to experiment a bit more & try out some new brushes & techniques. Can’t wait to experiment & draw more soon! 🩵

The fact that DC isn’t capitalizing on the Billionaire Romance potential between Bruce in Clark is criminal.

It has all the markings of success. Tall, dark, brooding love interests that’s richer than God but has a tortured soul? Check. Small town protagonist who’s in over their head but too in love to care? Double check. Complicated family and/or workplace dynamics that could pull the couple apart? Triple check.

Superbat is like an Ana Huang book on steroids; I know I’ll never see it actualized but DAMN is Bruce and Clark’s dynamic perfect for it…

yes, it's true that nature and the universe are uncaring and unspecific, and that is terrifying. i have lived through some of the unfairness - i got born like this, with my body caving into itself, with this ironic love of dance when i sometimes can't stand up for longer than 15 minutes. i am a poet with hands that are slowly shutting down - i can't hold a pen some days. recently i found a dead bird on our front porch. she had no visible injuries. she had just died, the way things die sometimes.

it is also true that nature and the universe are uncaring and unspecific, and that is wonderful. the sheer happenstance that makes rain turn into a rainbow. the impossible coincidence of finding your best friend. i have made so many mistakes and i have let myself down and i have harmed other people by accident. nature moves anyway. on the worst day of my life she delivers me an orange juice sunset, as if she is saying try again tomorrow.

how vast and unknowing the universe! how small we are! isn't that lovely. the universe has given us flowers and harp strings and the shape of clouds. how massive our lives are in comparison to a grasshopper. the world so bright, still undiscovered. even after 30 years of being on this earth, i learned about a new type of animal today: the dhole.

chance echoing in my life like a harmony between two people talking. do you think you and i, living in different worlds but connected through the internet - do you think we've ever seen the same butterfly? they migrate thousands of miles. it's possible, right?

how beautiful the ways we fill the vastness of space. i love that when large amounts of people are applauding in a room, they all start clapping at the same time. i love that the ocean reminds us of our mother's heartbeat. i love that out of all the colors, chlorophyll chose green. i love the coincidences. i love the places where science says i don't know, but it just happens.

"the universe doesn't care about you!" oh, i know. that's okay. i care about the universe. i will put my big stupid heart out into it and watch the universe feast on it. it is not painful. it is strange - the more love you pour into the unfeeling world, the more it feels the world loves you in return. i know it's confirmation bias. i think i'm okay if my proof of kindness is just my own body and my own spirit.

When my partner was in high school, they were friends with pretty much every queer girl in their small town rural school due to not being an asshole and also not yet knowing they were queer, but not Acting Like a Man™ because, frankly, most of the boys at school were complete dumbasses and they didn't want to be like that.

This means that, inevitably, they were caught in the middle of some good, old fashioned lesbian pining. They were the common denominator between Girl A and Girl B, the friend the two had in common. Girl A would come to them and sigh about Girl B and how pretty she was and how she'd never want to go out with her. Girl B did the same about Girl A.

And then spring break hit.

The thing about my partner is that they were born near the school cutoff date, so they're old for their grade. When most of their friends were 17, they were 18 and able to do things that legal adults can do. Such as rent hotel rooms.

So Girls A and B come to my partner saying they want to go on a trip together over break, but they're both still 17, so would my partner please rent them a hotel room and they'll pay them back? And my partner, being a good friend and knowing that their parents were assholes, said yes.

See, the thing is. It had been months of my partner being stuck in this wlw pining vortex. And they were completely in charge of the hotel booking. They looked at the booking request for two separate rooms. And they made a choice.

One room. One bed. Booked, paid for, reservation number passed on to their friends. And then all they had to do was sit back and wait.

Day one of the trip, my partner gets a frantic call. It's Girl A, on speakerphone with Girl B. The hotel had made some sort of mistake, they only had one room booked, with one bed!

"Yeah, two rooms were too expensive," says my partner, lying through their teeth. "I thought you'd be okay with sharing, since you two are friends."

"Betrayal!" neither girl yells because they're both standing next to the object of their affection.

"Haha, yeah, thanks," they say instead before hanging up.

Anyway, they came back from that trip dating. As far as my partner is aware, neither is aware that they fully orchestrated "only one bed" on purpose out of self defense.

There’s several de-aged Danny prompts, but what about de-aged Jazz. Most agree she’s very liminal after all, so who's to say ghost things won’t affect her too? 

So imagine with me, Jazz gets hit with something, and she is now child; maybe even baby. Danny panics, flees with his emergency bag alongside the other three in Team Phantom. So now they’re four teens with a very small child on the run. Four teens and a small child who have run into several heroes. 

Heroes who are all very concerned.

listen I know it’s kind of corny and inaccurate to act like every single person in the dc universe knows each other and is besties but it IS endlessly funny to me to follow the web of connections and see how many degrees removed from each other everyone is.

like look at the arrowfam okay. ollie and dinah are together, ollie is homoerotic best friends with hal, dinah is homoerotic best friends with babs. roy is dating dick, has a kid with jade, and is basically an adoptive father to both grant emerson and rose wilson. connor is dating kyle and is constantly followed around by eddie fyers. mia is friends with a lot of the second gen teen titans kids, had an on-again-off-again thing going on with steph for a while, and is currently dating sienna. emiko is besties with courtney and some of the other recent teen titans. sin has a small army of protective aunts from the birds of prey. the real question is how far does it go before ollie puts a cap on the number of people who are invited to family brunch on sundays
