despite assumptions and stereotypes, steve harrington actually doesn’t love dating around. sure, he does it and at the end of the night if someone wants to go a little bit further, who is he to say no? he’s only a man, after all.

which sucks. steve’s still gun-shy from what happened with nancy and tommy and jonathan back in high school. he hasn’t felt this way abt anyone in a pretty long time and it just sucks that eddie’s only interested in coming over at 3 in the morning. steve wants to go to the drive-in and to the state fair and out to lovers lake for stargazing. he wants dates and sleepy make out sessions and movie nights on saturdays.

but steve likes eddie so he’ll take whatever eddie’s willing to give him. he knows it might make him pathetic or whatever, but he’s accepted it. it’s fine. he’s just waiting for the day eddie stops showing up, for the day that eddie looks at him and tells him enough is enough, that it’s been fun and all but eddie’s on to bigger and better things.

saturday nights are the worst. steve knows eddie plays the hideout almost every weekend and steve’s left to sit home alone thinking about what eddie might be getting up to out at the dive bar. he knows what eddie looks like when he performs, knows how beautiful he looks in the low lights. he’s seen the way the audience looks at eddie while he’s on stage, grinding his hips into his guitar. it makes steve’s stomach hurt just thinking abt it. and sure, more often than not, eddie comes crawling into steve’s window in the late hours after his show ends, sweaty and smiling, high on adrenaline. those are steve’s favorite moments, the moments when he gets to kiss the look of triumph off of eddie’s face, when he gets to watch that look get replaced by a look of pure pleasure. but one day, probably soon, eddie won’t come crawling through his window and steve will be left alone in the worst case scenario.

so when a customer at family video gives steve a look, smiling, and asks him if he’s busy this saturday, steve can’t really find a reason to blow him off. the guy—pete—is dressed in a cut up band tee, his hands in his pockets as he leans against the counter, all cool confidence and charm. steve can’t help but compare him to eddie. but steve doesn’t want to be left in the dust when eddie and dustin and robin all eventually leave this shitty little town, so he agrees to a date. what’s one date gonna do? he knows eddie dates, even though they don’t really talk abt it. it’s not like he’s doing anything wrong.

for the first time ever, steve is the one getting picked up on a saturday night. pete rings the doorbell, leads steve out to his beat up pick up, and even opens the door for steve to slide it. steve feels something a little fuzzy in his chest and can’t help but smile as pete gets into the drivers seat. pete starts up the car and pulls out of the driveway. once they turn out of steve’s neighborhood, pete reaches over to slide his hand into steve’s.

“so i heard abt this pretty cool spot. live music, pool, beer,” pete glances over at steve and squeezes his hand. “you in?”

steve’s breath hitches a little. he’s kind of missed this, the promise of a first date, the magic of things just starting out. it feels even better to be on the other side of it, to have someone else take control. he pushes aside the wish that this was someone else.

“sounds good,” he finally responds, shooting pete a small smile. pete grins.

ten minutes later, they pull into a gravel parking lot and steve’s stomach drops. there aren’t that many bars in hawkins and even fewer places that host live music on the weekends. he should have known, really, that the one place they’d end up is the one place eddie’s guaranteed to be on a saturday night.

Imagine after hd reveal, port mafia starts to think back of all tachi’s behavior and words, then it hits them holy fuck this kid has some issues.

But now that they know how young he was when he joined the hunting dogs, they can’t help but feel bitter about that sentence. I think the reason tachi is desperate to follow orders are not only because government shaped him into perfect soldier, but he was desperate for love, affection and approval. Like, his parents told him they wished him dead instead of his brother! That is something sure will leave a scar on a CHILD.

I rlly want tachihara to learn how to be human again with the port mafia. Black lizards and chuuya probably will be the biggest help because, tachi is closest to black lizards-I think hirotsu will be able to be a father tachi never had-and chuuya has been through this. He knows how he’s feeling. Black lizards will be his family, his emotional support. And chuuya will be there, guiding him through the little things-that is normal as breathing to others but so, so foreign for him(them)-and tachihara feel so understood.

I think the idea of them questioning everything they knew about him also is super interesting. Because they all saw him one way (reckless, brave, a lil dense sometimes), and everything is different when he comes back.

There’s a level of ‘was this all an act’ that takes a bit to get over. But at the end of the day, it’s still their Tachi, just a different side of him. Personally, Hirotsu specifically wouldn’t mind the quiet if he wasn’t worried out of his gosh darn mind.

Also, he 100% picks up on just how much telling Tachihara he’s proud of him affects him when Tachi isn’t trying really hard to act unbothered and cool.

Chuuya just assigning him self reluctant older brother even tho it was fully his idea. Verlaine’s kinda there too, but he doesn’t really know how to approach him in a way that won’t scar him for life (again) so he kinda just follows him around occasionally like some kind of depressed French cryptid.

This is 100% more terrifying than if he just approached him bc Tachihara fully is aware that he’s been stalking him and is convinced he plans on assassinating him.

Context: since wars defined the timeline Hylia had planned what happened was a thing called a “timeline collapse” when that hyrule experiences sort of a majoras mask moment where the sky turns red and rocks are crashing down and it won’t stop till every single person in that era is dead. Since Lana defied hylia too (CIA was killed almost immediately after the war), any person high in power associated with the war would be puplicly beheaded, (with the exception of the knights) but just before her beheading hours before the era of wars was to be collapsed, Lana informed link and Artemis of a pocket dimension she had made, because she knew the whole time that this would happen, so just as the world is abt to end Wars and Artemis escape through a portal Lana made using the last of her power. It was sort of a weird version of hyrule with only the castle, an empty castle town,and the battle maps on floating islands connected by littler islands. It’s only wars l, Artemis and the animals there. There is a sky but it’s more of a muted bluish purple, the knight is still the same though.

so for the longest time, the chain had never been to wars era, and when they finally do, this is what they see, strange isn’t it?

Twilight barely saw Warriors quickly snatch the back of Wind’s tunic to prevent the sailor from walking straight off the little island they’d wound up on, he was too busy staring at everything else.

What he saw… It all felt empty. Destroyed and decimated, vacant and abandoned. He’d seen plenty of ghost towns, especially in Wild’s era but this was like nothing he’d ever seen before. They were in the sky, that much was obvious, but unlike Skyloft which stood grand and magnificent, full of life and the love of their goddess, this place seemed dead and ready to plummet down to the ground below. The ground that Twilight couldn’t even see because of the thick clouds and dark, hazy air.

A castle stood on a larger island a short ways away from them, oddly pristine and beautiful surrounded by the nothingness that expanded to the sides of them. This wasn’t Skyloft, not even the potential ruins of it. Twilight wasn’t even sure it was really Hyrule, given the odd purple tone of the sky above.

“Wh- Where ARE we…?” Sky whispered, no doubt unable to stop himself from drawing the same comparisons to Skyloft that Twilight had.

Of all the things he’d been expecting, Warriors’s grimace followed by, “My era”, was not one of them.

Time whipped around with something similar to anger in his eyes.

“What do you mean by that?” The old man demanded.

“A lot…” The captain paused to sigh. “A lot’s changed since you’ve been here, Sprite.”

“Where is everyone??” Legend asked, wildly looking around.

Uhmmmm that’s actually something I ask myself a bit !!!! I’m not exactly sure what’s the best way to go abt the moon, I think (adult, regular) Xelqua doing it would make the most sense…

He possesses Grian after taunting him through the void/Boatem hole for awhile, making him distressed and a little bit crazy. Xelqua breaks the server code, and then pulls the moon, perhaps ? That’d get the attention of the Watchers, such chaos. (Plus the imagery mimics Majora and Ocarina, I like that.)

Back when that Moon episode first went up, I remember a lot of non-hermitcraft fans watching it like wtf is happening in hermitcraft ?? I imagine the Watchers are like that Lol.

Usuallyyyy Xelqua would help a distressed Grian out, but it doesn’t take much for him to figure out this is the one that started everything. Xelqua can see his player code and see he’s a Watcher, and can figure out the rest by context clues, so he’s just gotta mess with him. He’s still a Watcher after all, that divine sense of justice… But he does also rationalize that he IS helping Grian, these players don’t even know what he is ! Mumbo and Pearl confront Xelqua the most I think, both knowing exactly what Watchers are.

This does lead to the Watchers finding out where Grian is, and I don’t know all the details but Xelqua does fight with them and the Hermits. Aether and Flora end up there as well, since Grian was their responsibility, it’s only fair they’re alerted and asked what they want to do with him. If it were only Flora, she would’ve taken his eyes, other Watchers agree, it’s a pretty common thing to do to Listeners, but Aether gets final calls with Grian and she’s not gonna do that 😭

Otherrr stuff…. They (hermits or watchers or both) get Xelqua expelled from Grian (I have no details here), and then he escapes through the Boatem hole, a few Watchers probably go after him but it’s rly not a good idea. I think Grian and Aether get to talk. The moon is still going to fall and destroy their server, they still have to leave, Grian still has to have some sort of consequences for what happened, and he’s still exiled. They talk for a long time, Grian drags it on, almost afraid to go back and explain himself to the Hermits, he can see it clearly in his head, they’ll want to exile him too, then he really won’t have anywhere to go-

The Hermits do not exile him, he was just panicking a little bit. He’s genuinely surprised when they include him in their server escape plan. The rest goes how it goes. Tho Grian has to explain himself to them later.

The Hermits are however also banned and exiled from Watcher domaines by extension.

Xelqua follows them to s9, staying undercover for awhile just watching, they really are interesting to him. He scares the shit out of Grian when he finally decides to show himself, but ! No possession this time ! Promise !

I don’t know if any of that is lame or disappointing or not, I haven’t seen s8 in a long time and it’s something I’d like to rewatch and check other POVs, so this is just what I imagine right now, it’s probably the most difficult part of the AU for me AUGH

I think neither one is the 'hunting down' type (Shidou or even Barou, however...) - but Kaiser, in my opinion, will not hesitate to utilize his fame. The media will most likely smear you - and maybe even turn on you fully once Kaiser drops a few calculated words. Everyone will speculate why you left like you did, will try to analyze yours and Kaiser’s relationship until they’ve found a plausible reason. You’re better off ditching the internet or the media all together for a little while. As for Kaiser, would he ask you for forgiveness, knock on your door one night or just straight up snatch you up? Oliver doesn't have the same tools available to him - not that he isn't famous, just not as much as Kaiser - your break-up will probably be picked up by some tabloids and fans online but it won't make the waves it does with Kaiser. But forcing you back with his influence is not his style, anyways. No, Oliver will make you take him back. Willingly. I think he'd grin and bear the ‘break-up’, on the outside. He won't lose his cool over this, even though it's bothering him a lot. He'll throw himself into his work, his team, keeps that laissez-fair attitude as if his life depends on it. I don't see him as the type to come up with an intricate plan to get you back but he'll let you cool off a little and bets on your poor, little brain smoothing things over for him in retrospect. He won't pick up anyone during this time to get back at you or to make you jealous - he'll be on his best behavior, won't be mentioning the 'break-up' anywhere, won't utter a word of contempt into your direction, won't even go out to party that much. For his standards, he's turning into somewhat of a golden boy - but it really is just a ploy. To make you see how much you've changed him. To make you see how heart-broken he is. Due to his charade, you’ll probably think yourself safe - until he turns up at your door one day, with the biggest apologetic smile on his face. It’s so jarring, it actually stuns you into silence. He’ll show you just how much of a talker he can be - for hours and hours he’ll lay it on thick, won’t spare a single, oh-so-sad detail. Talia Fenrir would be this cold rough guy who has a soft side and the soft side is a overprotective motherbird lol. Like he’d easily toss you to the side if you’re not apart of Avidity. He will not hesitate to raise his fist and beat the shit out of people. He would do anything for that validation after all, and one of those things is look like a strong and feral guard dog. Stern, cold words bro… he won’t think twice about berating you and stuff - he won’t take bullshits from outsider. But within Avidity, regardless of your status, he’s really maternal… :3

Post-Talia Fenrir would be those rascal alternative older brothers that has a homoreotic relationship with his ‘best bro’ and is in a band like in those coming of age movies. like the “cool” kids with the skateboards that wears oversized hoodies but instead of that it’s this 6’4 biker (like those with a battle jacket and listen to classic heavy metal/rock and a bandana). He’s more aloof and sassy, a bit sarcastic too. It takes a lot of work for him to be this soft lol. They do bicker and pester one another at times. And it looked like Fenrir is one of the only few that can get under Aventurine’s skin. It’s a funny thing because Aventurine, yk, he never thinks of himself as anything good of value but there was just something about Fenrir that he can just look at him and be like “yeah this dumbass im better than him”.

For Fenrir, he has been detached from humanity for so long, so his interest in Aventurine, in someone to his eyes “so human” is what life is to him. He’s learning of the shielded emotions, the stories, the humanity, the interests and decisions of Aventurine, he’s learning what “human” is like from Aventurine. Even if Aventurine considers himself the worst subject for that matter, loving Aventurine is the most interesting thing to Fenrir. (totally not putting merci into here)

I saw the ask in regard to apparently BTs are saying that all the focus on rg means he's leaving? I haven't seen anyone say that on either side so a strange one huh!

But it was more your comments in terms of pushing for Tommy to replace Eddie as lead when Ravi is right there and I just wanna say I agree! And I have seen many bucktommy shippers including myself pushing for Ravi to be main cast. He absolutely should be and deserves it and is an absolute darling angel and I love what he brings to the whole dynamic!

My biggest hope for Tommy is for his to be recurring much like Karen! Speaking of, there's another character I'd love to be main cast and who I think is ahead of the queue in front of Tommy to be main cast. Heck I'd love if all of them got to be main cast but, as much as I love bucktommy, I definitely can see there's an order to who should be main cast and don't want any 'queue jumping'

One other thing I want to out out there as food for thought, is that on both sides I see a lot of discourse thrown out through anonymous asks of 'oh the bts are saying this' or 'the buddies said this ridiculous thing!' And something I would love both sides to seriously consider is... did they really? I finished the Natlan archon quest a couple days ago and wanted to share my thoughts + my Capitano art dump/ screenshot sketches cause he’s so fun to draw and literally my favorite character rn alongside bill lol :>>

Anyways, I even tried making my own version of what Capitano might look like w/o his mask even though I think he looks amazing with it on (I’m aware the scars may not look as accurate as they should but it was a trial and error for me so please don’t hate too much :,)

okay okay. So, by nature of how they’re formed, all gas giant planets (such as Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) have rings around them. Because of the gravity of these planets, these rings are slowly being drawn into the planets and crashing into the atmospheres. however, they’re getting replenished by asteroids and comets that are drawn in by their gravitational pull. (sometimes these objects collide with debris in the ring system and make more debris).

Now, onto the interesting bit. Most people don’t know that all the gas giants have rings, but everyone knows about Saturn’s brilliant rings. The reason why Saturn’s rings are so much bigger and more prominent isn’t 100% known, but the most popular theory is that, not only were the rings recently replenished, but they were formed due to an object around the size of Saturn’s moon Titan (which is v close to the size of the earth) being destroyed and broken up. (Titan is another really really cool satellite/moon but I’ll leave that for another post askshxhsjdghsbzjshs)

Now, one more fun fact for you but this time about black holes because I’m actually incapable of talking abt space without bringing them up.

So, black holes are formed by really really really massive stars dying. Stars die in a variety of ways depending on their mass, and maybe one day I’ll make a post going more in depth, but basically what happens is most stars become red dwarfs and eject their outer layers forming planetary nebulae, and a very small amount of stars are so massive that they go supernova.

What usually happens is that, after the explosion, a supernova remnant (a nebula) and a neutron star are left behind. Neutron stars are still incredibly massive, but they’re also really really small (like, diameter the size of a city small), which means they’re really dense. Anyway, the gravity of these things is immense.

But, an even smaller amount of stars, are so massive that a really weird thing happens with the neutron stars left behind.

But let me back up a couple steps and introduce you to this idea of an escape velocity. The escape velocity is the velocity (speed) needed for something to escape and objects gravitational pull. I won’t bore you with the details of Earth’s gravitational pull (I also don’t know it off the top of my head lmao).

Another thing to know is that light is the fastest moving thing in the universe (as far as we know). You see it talked about in sci-fi all the time “faster than light travel.” It’s also the reason we use light years as our primary measurement in space.

But that small percentage of neutron stars? The ones from that very very small percentage of incredibly massive stars? The escape velocity is so high that not even light can escape. And that’s why we have black holes. They’re essentially this incredibly dense and incredibly massive object that not even light can escape.

One more fact about black holes: every single spiral galaxy has at least one supermassive black hole at its center. The fun thing? We don’t know how those black holes were formed, because they’re too massive for any singular star to have formed them. Anyway, I’ll wrap up here.

I think the concept is interesting removed from the original way it came to be. I really love the idea of like a campy late 70s-early 80s slasher movie. So in an effort to take this and actually make some sort of like lore for it I want to like talk abt characters and settings and stuff

Characters:

So far the only characters I’ve seen consistently pop up are Alaine, Maxine, Danny, and Cole

-Alaine: our deuteragonist with Maxine, good Christian girl stereotype, homoerotic undertones with Maxine, severe anxiety and paranoia issues (tragically unexplored by the movie), definitely very buttoned-up look (glasses, sweater vests, the like), turns into our tragic hero for the film, ultimately killing the killer but dying in the process

-Maxine: our other deuteragonist, bad girl stereotype, also homoerotic undertones with Alaine (definitely more obvious tho) (very Jennifer’s Body w/the 2 of them), very goth-y vibes, sort of eggs on Alaine’s anxiety, smoker, sort of a temptress figure for Alaine

-Danny: Our killer, part of the friend group with the other 3 characters, comes off as sort of this cool jock (footballer) guy and is mainly friends with them cuz he’s Alaine’s childhood friend (the forced heterosexuality between them is tragic), a bit annoying and overbearing, kills mainly due to the fact that Alaine won’t like him back (and the internalized homophobia he’s dealing with but they don’t talk abt that even tho it’s so obvious)

-Cole: stoner stereotype, him and Danny have something gay going on between them (also tragically unexplored) mostly chill guy and our doubter for the film (doesn’t believe that this is actually happening until it’s too late), tragically dies in Act 2 (Danny not realizing who he killed until it’s too late)

I like to imagine it’s very Scream-esque, so masked killer, killer is part of the friend group, takes place in high school, etc.

Settings:

I think building off some of the scenes that ppl talk abt is a good idea cuz some sound interesting to me

-High School: the main setting of Act I, where we meet the core characters and see multiple character interactions of the 4 discussing the killings, very stereotypical high school

Subcategories if this setting include: Hallways (specifically next to the lockers), Under the Bleachers, a Classrooom, and the Lunch Room

-Alaine’s House (specifically her Bedroom): her bedroom is very pink and child-like to represent her naivety, but is usually cast in a yellow light to emphasize her paranoia and the looming threat, we see this a couple times, but mainly in the scene where she’s getting ready for the party

My favorite scene from this is the scene where Maxine comes through her window to pick her up for the Bonfire, and ends up tempting her with a cigarette as she sits on the bed, Alaine comes over and takes up her offer, in an effort to relieve her anxiety/paranoia, and we see Maxine shotgun smoke into her mouth, until Alaine starts coughing it up, breaking the (homoerotic) tension

-The Bonfire/The Woods: the main area of Act II, where the infamous woods scene comes from, the core four r invited to the bonfire (Danny gets the invite for them since he’s popular) and there, the first body is found in the woods, hanging from a tree, stomach slashed open, and organs spilling out, as screams pierce the air, rain starts pouring in and the bonfire is doused, leading to ppl scattering in woods, including Maxine and Alaine together, and Cole, separated from the 2

A tense chase through the woods ensues, following each of them separately not knowing who the killer is following. We see the bodies of a handful more bodies scattered throughout the woods as the groups stumble upon them, various arms, legs, and heads severed, and always the stomachs slashed. We also see other ppl who look like they’ve been beaten, as ppl started attacking others, not knowing if they were the killer or not (emphasizing the paranoia themes)

The best scene is when we finally see the killer catch up to Cole, where they start fighting (and the killers chainsaw gets tossed to the ground) and it seems like Cole is winning until he’s stabbed in the stomach. We see the killer get up grab chainsaw to finish the job, but as he comes back and the rain stops, clouds parting to reveal moonlight, Danny recognizes Cole, breathing out his name, dropping the chainsaw again, and desperately trying to stop the bleeding. Recognition flashes in Cole’s eyes and he reaches up to cup Danny’s face, bringing it close (as if they’re abt to kiss), and he whispers ‘Danny?’ Before the light fades from his eyes 😩😩😩

-The Carnival: This is where the final Act takes place for the most part, this is a handful of months after the bonfire/woods scene (set nebulously during early spring) Danny invites Alaine for a date there and she says yes, but ends up showing up with Maxine, he is enraged, but ultimately still tries to take her around. There’s a bit of a montage of the 3 of them doing things together, mainly Alaine and Maxine, while Danny sulks, but eventually Danny gets Alaine to go on the Ferris wheel with him alone and tries to kiss her, which she rejects, and runs away from him with Maxine

He ends up going to the car and getting his murder gear intending to kill her (and various other carnival goers). He kills the Ferris wheel attendent first, spurring a mass panic. He searches for Alaine and Maxine, killing multiple ppl on the way and find them where they fight and the 2 escape to the games corridor and hide behind one of the stalls.

This part killed me, when Alaine grabs the bat from the stall and tells Maxime to wait there, kissing her on the cheek!!!! And then she goes after him in the House of Mirrors and starts smashing the glass as she sees him in like a culmination of her paranoia!!!!! And then Danny over powers her and slashes her across the stomach like everyone else and says ‘You should’ve loved me, not her, i could’ve saved you from all this.’ But she fucking grabs a shard of glass and like stabs him in the heart and says ‘It would’ve saved you too??? LIKE???? And the directors say it’s not canon smh,,,

But it gets even worse cuz like Maxine comes and find her and Danny’s body and like cradles her and like Alaine softly touches her face one last time and fucking does in her arms 😩😩😩 AND THEN IT ENDS??? Insane behavior

please forgive me bc even though i won’t be planet of the apes posting i WILL be apes posting which i think is arguably worse

i am like so obsessed w learning abt apes rn. which is probably bc of how much i’ve been enjoying the planet of the apes movies but also they’re just interesting in general. so here are my thoughts

1. ok so i literally just learned the difference between an ape and a monkey just a couple weeks ago (most notable difference is that *most* monkeys have tails and no apes have tails) but it’s still a pet peeve of mine when there’s a youtube thumbnail that’s like “monkey reacts to [whatever human is going]” and it’s literally a shot of like a gorilla or chimpanzee or something. but also im a hypocrite bc i still use those terms interchangeably in my head

2. chimpanzees are fucking crazy. maybe this will be a bit about planet of the apes bc why’d they switch the personalities of caesar and koba 😭😭 like were they tryna bring up a nature vs nurture debate or WHAT bc koba was stacking up BODIES and not in a sexual way. which might sound weird until you realize that bonobos (aka koba) settle all their problems with sex. two bonobos want the same piece of fruit? sex. two bonobos having an argument? hug it out. two neighboring bonobo societies? the meetup is fucking obscene. chimpanzees on the other hand will literally create organized groups and if they see a lone male they will beat the shit out of him. infantcide is also rlly common (against neighboring societies i mean, chimpanzees live in a polygynandrous (or however tf u spell it??) to avoid that problem). also did u know that bonobos were originally called “pygmy chimpanzees” bc they looked so much like a smaller branch of chimpanzees we just thought they were the same species? i literally thought that koba was a chimpanzee too lol

3. gorillas are literally chill as hellll. take what im saying w a grain of salt though bc i’ve only done research on chimpanzees (in my defense it was for an assignment ok im not THAT obsessed) but i think it’s so cool that they’re not only aware of how strong they are but that they know how much force to use around smaller animals so they won’t hurt them. im explaining that horribly but basically let’s take koko as an example. ill get into the ethical issues w koko later but basically she was a gorilla born and raised in captivity that was taught sign language and there was one handler that she spent ALL her time with. she was also fed a human diet but that’s beside the point 😭😭 she was like 300 or 400 pounds (something like that…) and like even when she got excited when she was playing or leaned on her handler to give her a hug she was SO gentle about it. i think there was only one instance i saw where her handler was like “gentle, koko, gentle” but i think that’s when koko was little. also, her obsessions w kittens was cute but it did make me anxious watching her hold them. not cos i thought she’d crush/hurt them, just cos it reminded me of that kid that invades a kittens personal space until that kitten snaps, which koko was very much giving

4. with that being said, i don’t believe koko could actually talk. i get that if gorillas/apes in general could speak english they probably would just say “i would like food, please” but to me i feel like koko signing that she wants food is the same as when my dog used to wake me up and tug at the seal of her dog food. like, koko is absolutely communicating her needs, but she’d do that with or without sign language. also, the handler does do a good job of explaining kokos vague signs and assigning more complex meaning to them. like, do i think koko was smart? absolutely! do i think she needs to know human language to be smart? no. also i read something that was like “research about teaching apes asl has been declining recently” like.. yeah. i sure hope it has. like i’m not gonna sit here and say that koko was abused or whatever bc at the end of the day the only thing i know about her handler (aka penny) is that she was a fucking weirdo and bought michael (kokos bestie) and another female gorilla through some SKETCH poacher, but idk how she treated koko specifically. i do think it’s fucked up that koko spent her whole life basically alone though, esp since gorillas are such social animals. i think we base so much worth around if an ape is smart “like a human” that we ignore the fact that gorillas will never be human and humans will never be gorillas. again im not explaining this well but even though we’re human that doesn’t automatically mean we’re gonna be better caretakers for a literal gorilla. also about koko wanting a baby… girl i have no doubt that she did and i think it’s rlly sad that she never got one. but at the same time i think it’s so funny that her handler was like “we negotiated hella with other zoos but they just WOULDNT send over a male gorilla” um yeah girl prob cos you’re sketch as fuck… just a thought

5. anyway enough about koko. orangutans are so chill. like the chillest. maurice is my fav ape from planet of the apes and its literally cos he says so much yet so little. male orangutans have fatty cheeks but some males choose not to have them so i convinced my family that raka was a female orangutan. idk why they literally didn’t care one way or another so that was kinda fucked up. they’re also the epitome of solitary creatures they kinda only meet up when they wanna reproduce.

6. tbh that’s it. i had more to say when i was in my very fleeting lions and tigers era so like maybe im not as obsessed w apes as i thought. but looking back i did type a lot of stuff so i guess that’s just the consequence of being single. i’m kinda like an orangutan that way. also here’s my fav orangutan video bc imagine you’re just a single mother trying to provide for ur family and some fucking freak of nature tries to conspire against u. it’s like the fnaf of the animal kingdom

7. i guess there’s something else i wanna bring up. the original planet of the apes movies focus on three apes in particular: gorillas, chimpanzees, and orangutans. the gorillas are soldiers, portrayed as aggressive and brutish and dumb, which… i get it. guerrilla (aka gorilla) warfare. clever. very smart. i’m still clutching the stitch at my side. then the orangutans are political leaders, which… huh? like i remember in divergent the author was like “it’s best to give power to those who don’t want it bc then they’re least likely to abuse it” but like… that orangutan bitch was so obsessed w keeping the power exactly where it was. and then the chimpanzees being pacifists… what? like idk maybe they were making a joke or something bc they had to know that chimpanzees are brutal asf for no reason. or maybe they just needed to pick an ape to be a pacifist and they chose that one

8. speaking of the movie… the bit where they all worshipped the atomic bomb was crazyyyy. rlly shows u where their heads were at in the 60s. what i think is interesting tho is that the original planet of the apes are rated G (at least where i watched it) and then the new ones are pg-13 even though taylor literally was like “ummm yeah we had a female astronaut with us and lucky for her she died bc if she did survive we all would have had sex with her and made her have all our children.” um… okay! now that i’m thinking abt it modern planet of the ape beastality enthusiasts need to get on the original movies bc there’s literally three separate instances of apes kissing humans! but maybe they wouldn’t like that bc the ape characters are obviously just humans in costumes, which i bet would ruin the appeal for them. with that being said, im done with this rant now

can u believe that i spent like almost half an hour thinking of whst i like abt myself ohmygod my brain was overworking LMAOO

1. tiny mole under my eye :3

i like it bcs it uhh completes me ig? like it completes my looks & its just at the perfect under my eye ^_^ i also have tiny moles on my arms and stomach but that specific one is visible to everyone yk its v cute imo

2. teeth

i had braces when i was like 11 / 12 and used to HATE THEM SM but they made my teeth to what they are today (straight) so i kinda have to thank my dentist for recommending me to get braces . bless u

3. no-judging personality / open minded

LITERALLY people can come and confess to me w whatever (except for like straight up disgusting or weird stuff like anything misogynistic/ pedophilia related stuff /racism etc u get the gist of it) and i’ll sit there be like ‘mhm yup okay go on’ . i think i won’t ever judge someone quickly yk like im actually be interested in what ppl like or what ppl think of, their hobbies & stuff rlly i just like to listen to ppl ramble even abt the smallest of interests or likes ^_^ im v accepting of ppl most of the time unless they make me uncomfy ofc

4. drawing skills / creativity

ngl i dont like most of my drawings but i love how creative i can be!! my drawings end up taking a lot of time and patience but at the end i’ll be like ‘damn i rlly drew that’ (and that lasts for like a day or two before i dislike it . but i’ve heard its bcs u stare at it for too long or don’t see it from someone else’s personal) . BUT also w my writing yk, i can come up with hundreds of ideas at once :3 though sometimes it ends up being a hassle bcs i start way too many drafts and then dk what to continue on ooopsies

5. how helpful i am

i like how helpful i am in most scenarios irl and on social media ! i can give decent advice abt most things (at least thats what my family/ friends have told me along the many years of uni + high school) and i rlly just like to help ppl who need it yk? like i dont get annoyed if someone asks for something to which the answer could be obvious to others—i dont judddgeeee once again :3 i got patience & the need to help others with even the smallest things so yea i like that abt me
