the funniest part about coming to mha late, was I knew bkdk was extremely controversial and had seen some of the discourse about from the outside, so when I finally decided to watch it I was shocked to discover just how much of the plot revolved around izuku having a huge crush on kacchan

you should tell your friends what I look like, riz gukgak.
#fantasy high#fantasy high sophomore year#fhsy#riz gukgak#baron from the baronies#fh class quangle#class swap babeyy! bard!riz that's whats goin on!#I really need tags for these now I think lmao#ask to tag#I feel like this should be tagged something. but I dont know what#in my brain after the initial kidnapping class swap baron's thing is every time riz keeps his story abt them up in front of his friends#they get a little bit closer. they send him pictures of where they supposedly are n stuff#theres a scene in my brain only of kristen and riz on top of the van and kristen is like everything kinda sucks rn can u tell me abt baron#cause what you guys have is so nice and beautiful. and riz almost doesn't but he ultimately can't deny kristen a little peace#lmao I feel like dipping into baron stuff with the class swap is like showing my whole ass online again I just. I'm a#horror person before all else... I cant stop myself. canon baron is Great and Cool but that is kind of the thing. for a horror thing theyre#Too Cool. I think cool is kind of the neutralizer of scary. when a monster is a certain amount of cool it overrides the scary#and now u just have a Cool Monster#its so fucked for bard!riz this year bc he doesn't have an office (he's mooching off the school wifi from the AV club room lol)#so there's no buffer between adventure and home life. so baron just shows up in the strongtower apartment lmao#sophomore year bard!riz looks like a slasher protag so I just leaned into it I guess. he gets a mr. x if mr. x is made up by leon kennedy#well. its worse actually. they can show up where he is at any moment theyve proven this. but they dont#they choose to punish him slowly as he lies to his friends instead. baron is mr. x if mr. x is made up by leon and also a bitch#I think its gonna pop up if class swap baron ever speaks in a comic I do but their voice comes from like. inside their hollow face#it sounds like it's a lot deeper in there than that skull should be#tbh what I have rn is kinda like a bag of loose pieces that Can fit together into something great but I dont have the energy to#really sit down with them yet lol. Im doing this inbetween other things#it comes or it doesn't! it's fine. funny how today's bad comic day also. I wont say this is for bad comic day bc all my comics are#flawless and beautiful and perfect and awesome and beautiful and the best#but u should. if u havent drawn a comic today or at all ever u should draw a comic

Something I really love about the Silt Verses is how, in a world of gods and monsters, how grounded Faulkner's trauma [and relationship with his father] is. Especially as the season moves on, and the stakes amp up [and up] its so unexpectedly piercing to be presented with this exploration of childhood abandonment/negligence, inter-generational trauma, the indignities and stress that comes with unexpected elder care/early onset Alzheimer's. You're so locked in to these grander, more abstract concepts that your defenses are down! Mine were, anyway. TSV is so good at cutting its grand, complex plotlines with simpler [but not shallower] gutpunches, and it just grounds the whole thing.
#the silt verses#other moments on the list#[the list being small but emotionally devistating grounded moments]#include: the lights coming back on in the aftermath of the strike during hayward and carpenters conversation#and you just. intuit the devistation#after all that. after all the fighting and protest. the lights come back on. you can HEAR the screaming in the silence#Faulkner's whole elder care thing with his dad#where he has to reckon with him as a person who made mistakes#and put his own resolution aside to take care of a man he had complex feelings for#also the Faulkner's dad/trawlerman connection is crazy to me its crazy#oh you want to worship the god with the garden do you faulkner#you want to be this gods enterpriter and favorite#what did your father do again?#oh also the god rocket scene#where we are put in the place of a sacrifice#the claustrophobia! the fear! the tinned patriotic speech! the narrowing down to a needle point of the overall themes of the story#the fucking microcosm of it all!#all the sandwhich shop scenes#the whole hotel episode#charity in the pub running for her life because CARPENTER reappears#also love how interconnected everything is#both carpenter and page knowing von#running back into charity#fantastic writing all round it's all so fucking TIGHT my god#the prose is killer the pacing is killer the acting is killer the STRUCTURE is killer#its just a fucking masterclass of storytelling like its just. GREAT#top to bottom.#like the sheer skill involved in making something like TSV#on all levels#is incredible I really do admire it

literally please give Battison a Dick Grayson in the Batman Part II.
The first movie was about Bruce's journey from not wanting to be Bruce Wayne, to realizing that he does in fact need to be Bruce Wayne, and that Bruce Wayne can be a force used for good just like Batman. Logically then, the second movie should explore the next immediate question on the table: okay, he needs to be Bruce Wayne. So who is Bruce Wayne? What kind of man is Bruce Wayne going to be? Bruce still feels defined by his trauma of his parent's death. Bruce Wayne still feels defined by his parents' shadows, by his father's legacy. He still feels defined by his grief. How does he make Bruce Wayne be something different?
Dick Grayson would serve as the PERFECT device for Bruce to discover who he can be. Because Dick Grayson is literally just a young Bruce, and Bruce sees that instantly (it's why he takes him in in the first place). So throughout the movie, as Bruce tries to help Dick process his grief, he's inadvertently processing his OWN grief. Dick Grayson unknowingly helps Bruce process his own trauma, and through their developing relationship shows him that Bruce Wayne can be more than a recluse, a failure, a man drowning in his own head- he can be a protector, a friend, a parent.
When Dick points a gun at Tony Zucco's head, Bruce talks him down, and all the words that he gives him are words he had wanted when he was a kid and his grief was fresh. Even though they're gone, you're not alone. I understand.
BATTISON NEEDS DICK GRAYSON TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP OF HIS CHARACTER GROWTH.

Wandering my hallways and pacing around my home thinking about Final Fantasy XV and its myriad examples of the core cast casually dehumanizing themselves for the sake of what they believe to be something greater. Ignis has perfectly fine vision but wears glasses to correct to 20/20. "When you can't focus, I focus for you." All of Episode Prompto. Ravus seeing his sister's death as a tragedy, not just because she's dead, but because she's dead and she doesn't even get to rest. The repeated imagery of getting closer and closer to Noct's destined goal is literally him trying to hold very still and not flinch as he lets a sword hit him. The goddamn ending. The game is not in conversation with this theme. These are things that are true to the characters and they cannot imagine a world where they are not. I'm climbing on the walls.

I know majority of people think “haha Nick does stupid shit and Judy has to keep him in control” which don’t get me wrong is a funny trope, but I like to think canonly it’s the opposite.
I’m not saying Judy does stupid shit on purpose or for no reason, but she is very case-focused and will stop at nothing to finish her job, even at the risk of her own safety. Girl puts her life on the line multiple times throughout the movie and arguably if it weren’t for Nick she would’ve ended up dead. He is much more concerned with their safety and making sure they both make it out okay from dangerous situations.
So yeah, Judy is just as capable of putting her life at risk, and Nick is the only one actively keeping her alive

k, i need to ride mechanic touya ๐·°(৹˃̵﹏˂̵৹)°·๐
ugh just our hot tatted, hands dirty from car oil mechanic touya (*/ω\) imagine that he’s your third mechanic that you’ve gone to see about car problems and you’re practically done with all the bullshit you’ve been fed from other car shop dudes. you’re so riled up about all the issues you’ve had with your stupid car that at first you don’t notice how hot he is. but touya notices how adorable you are despite you being snippy as he asks the standard questions of ‘what’s wrong with it’ and what you’ve been informed by prior mechanics.
now mechanic touya is not a miracle worker; he’s just a guy that knows the ins and outs of car maintenance. so he gives it to you straight that your car is indeed a piece of shit but it’s a piece of shit that he can at least make drivable. the diagnosis he gives you is not as bad as you were told before so you visibly relax as touya goes over the costs and he gives you a date to pick up your car which is his closing time of his shop in just a few days.
when you look over the invoice, you note how he cut most of the costs. “you sure you did this right?”
mechanic touya says that it’s not a big deal, just don’t go to any guy except him from now on. maybe it’s the gratefulness that you won’t have to sell any organs just to cover the costs but you notice how fucking fine he is and bashfulness kicks in. “i’m really grateful… thank you. but i really should pay you in full for all you’ve done.”
so mechanic touya tells you, “well baby, if you really wanna show me how grateful you are. come help me test the new shocks on my car.”
and then you’re bouncing on touya’s lap in the backseat of his red convertible bmw 325i. the top is put down so that you don’t hit your head and he’s telling you what a cute little thing you are and how lucky you are that he was your third consultation. your head is dizzy with all the filthy words he gifts to you and you chase your high. mechanic touya makes himself comfortable and leans back to enjoy the show, his car bouncing slightly with your movement. it’s when he calls you a good girl that has you whining and then you’re hanging onto him, begging into his ear to call you a good girl again.

there was something so intense about stephen staring at thomas during the whole interrogation scene, as if he was attempting to find this "evil" man he had conjured up in his mind. the lies stephen has fed himself over the years about thomas all amounted to this moment, and toward the end, not only did he realize he was wrong about thomas but you can tell he knew they had made a mistake but he regretted it.
the part where he and thomas were alone together, and thomas spoke to him in a calm, casual manner, as if they were friends also showed that. stephen didn't bite back, or reply to him coldly because he knew he'd messed up. and honestly i think stephen would've rather thomas have been cold and cruel to him in their last conversation, over being friendly. because at least there would be some little justification for what Stephen is doing. but nope, it wasn't there. just thomas talking casually, as if they were still working under wolsey.
aside from knowing that thomas was right - without him all things will fall apart, and they do - from a personal level, you can see how stephen realized that this was a mistake. that last part thomas said, about history judging them, and stephen turned it and said that they all would be judged for what they did - specifically for what they did with thomas. oh, he knew, and he knew he fucked up, he knew they all did. he knew it was a mistake, and that they were essentially putting an innocent man to death.
more importantly, as the episode went on, this was a small dick move from norfolk and i think stephen was starting to realize that. just how ridiculous it was, and how he was roped into it as well.
#wolf hall#thomas cromwell#someone earlier mentioned how it seemed like they put their differences aside or at least - let go of that grudge#and i agree with that#and i also think that stephen again - realized just how much he fucked up#this evil mastermind he had conjured in his mind as thomas#was just not who thomas was#and he realized that#he didn't even look mad at the end he just looked dejected#i think he was sitting with the reality that england is fucked#he knows thomas is right - even if norfolk didn't know#he did#so there's that - and there's no backing out of it#on top of that#he put an innocent man to death - and not just any innocent man#he had known thomas longer than anyone else in that room#so that said - their last talk - the walls were down#no poison from thomas#the vicious talks between them subsided#and his tone was calm and casual - as if he was eating dinner with stephen#and through all of that#stephen saw thomas for who he really was#and had to accept that he just put someone who was at a point - a friend to him - to death#because if thomas could be cordial with him after all of that - despite what was to come#then yeah#after all the deconstruction - after all the back and forth - that is how their realtionship ended#stephen putting thomas to death - and thomas speaking to stephen in a friendly - calm tone - and putting aside#years of hatred#and i think - especially as a bishop - that is going to haunt stephen for the rest of his life#anyway - those last moment

how many of you would get mad at me if i said that mulder fucking another woman while wearing scully’s crucifix necklace is one of the most romantic things to ever happen….like, gothically and punitively so….it’s like….well, it’s like…it’s like “aw boohoo he has to get laid because he’s so sad his partner is gone” but like for a person who never allows themself any indulgence or respite or attention, who therefore only has sex as penance. only in blood. and it’s like…yes, it’s self-harm, in many ways, but in many ways it is also confession. crucifixion, as a laying down of sin. bless me father, for i can’t save them, and i miss them anyway. crucifixion as being watched over…when he asked maggie, “why did she wear this?” and maggie answered, “because i gave it to her.”
