Watching Voltron: Legendary Defender for the first time and recording my thoughts
S1-2 | S3 | S4 | you are here! | S6 | S7 | S8 |
_________________________________________
This one is not as long because I literally finished it like two days ago as I write this so the thoughts are still simmering down but I need to remember them before I watch s6
Pre-S5 thoughts
-> I hope we get Keith back, his near sacrifice really scared me at the end of S4. I want my son back.
-> pLEASE let that poor girl get her father back. Oh my lord. Give him back. Pls. I can’t wait anymore. Will the real Sam Holt please stand up? Please stand up?
-> FRICK Lotor I know they’re probably gonna give him some backstory or whatever on him being a good guy but I DOOOOONNNNNNT CAAAAARRRREEEEEEEEE. I do NOT like him and they can never make me. he is EVIL and you cannot tell me otherwise.
->^“but laura-” idc. I don’t trust him. His voice is too American-Psyco-y. He is a little scheming cunty little elf. He’s onto something. He wants something out of this.
->^I will miss his team of lesbians tho. They ate.
->There seems to be a lot of hints towards allurance! I hope they get a good arc. They are very sweet!
-> I hope we see more of Matt! It’s like that one quote from Brooklyn 99. “I’ve only had [Matt] for [an episode and a half] but if anything were to happen to him, I’d kill everyone in this room, and then myself”
—~—~—~—~—~—///////|||||\\\\\\\—~—~—~—~—~—
Post-S5 Thoughts
-> my suspicions of Shiro grew bigger and bigger as this season progressed. I think I have it figured out by now. 🔍🧐☕️
->^Lotor low key ate her up with this
->^i think that’s her main arc: she needs to let go of the thought that all galra are evil (which she has fair reason to do so), as it is a war, and things aren’t all black and white. As much as I hate to admit it, I feel like having Lotor around this season will help her character development.
->^I wrote that at the beginning of s5, I was right, it did help a little (though then they brought up the fact that Lotor was half altean so maybe she just thinks he’s good because of that—let’s hope not)
->They did not, in fact, bring Keith back. Very upsetting.
->WE GOT SAM HOLT BACK!! THE HOLTS ARE BACK!!! THEY HAVE FOUND THEIR FATHER!!!!
->^That was an emotional episode for me. I cried when they didn’t find him in the “prison” thing and I cried again when Pidge ran into the hologram thing. They make me feel so weak. I was so happy when they got him back fr.
-> And then I cried again at the end of episode 3 cus he was like “I decided im leaving, good luck out there, kids”. Bawling.
->Speaking of episode 3… 🔍🧐
->^and episode 4…and episode 6… 🧐🧐🧐🧐
->^🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
->^me rn vs. you guys probably.
->^He’s 1) been listening to everything Lotor says, ignoring the team and going behind their back/without consulting them. And 2) Being uncharacteristically hostile to everyone. I swear I felt like I was reading a really OOC fanfic nearly the whole season.
->^Yes, Shiro is leader-y, but he also (s1-2) tended to listen to his team and have unserious moments. I feel like he’s lost all of that. And I think that last picture is all I need to know.
->(moving on)There seems to be a big focus on Lance this season (yay!) I really hope it’s not for the usual reasons characters get extra screen time (because I would die). I feel like they have been leading him to be the black paladin with how leader-y he has been this season but even if that’s not the case I do still feel they are going to do something really important with him for the next season and I am so excited to see what they are going to do with him! 😊
-> if Keith doesn’t leave the Backyard of Malnutrition next season im going to make myself go inside the show and personally take him out
->/j/j/j…or is it? ☕️🧐 (someone needs to take this emoji away from me it’s made me too powerful)
->WE GOT KEITHS MOM!!!!
->^I was so shocked I literally slammed my computer shut (not that hard, im not a psycho dw)
->^HE GOT HIS MOM BACK!!! I cried after that episode because can you imagine? He just got her back and he thought she was dead/abandoned him for like his entire life. And now he has her back and oh my god I need to open ao3 where are those “first time calling <someone> mom/dad” one shots.
->^AND KROLIA. SHE JUST GOT HER BABY BACK!! Stop im fr crying as i type this. guys. Fuck. I genuinely can’t handle family-related stuff in shows like I will cry so hard. It doesn’t even have to happen on screen my brain just makes the scenarios for me and I obey and bawl my eyes out.
->They are trying to make me like Lotor and Allura together…it is almost working. Almost. I still don’t trust him. And I like allurance better.
->^i just KNOW she was internally kicking her feet and giggling at this. “Then you’re…🤔😯 Half altean 🤭🤭😍😍😍”
->^speaking of that ep, I was sooooo happy for Allura because she finally found a way to still be connected with her dad/culture after having to lose him in s1 and not being able to pilot red in s3, absolutely overjoyed for my best girl!! 🤍🩷🤍
->I absolutely LOVED episode five’s subplots. We have: A-plot) Keith+ his mom going on a mission together, B) Lotor +Allura finding altean stuff in Haggar’s lair, and C) my personal favorite, The garrison trio getting up to shenanigans with a galra robot thing.
->^Later Pala-dudes is my hero, too, lance
->^^Look at those dorks. I love them so much.
->^See this is proof that Lotor is actually Evil™️ and Not Good™️ because he immediately went to violence and trying to fight to greedily get what he wanted while Allura saw the right path and allowed the secrets to be shared with her willingly in this essay I will-
->When is Lotor gonna find out his mom is haggar?? Hopefully s6 cus I can’t take this anymore. the evidence is RIGHT THERE, bucko. Figure it out already.
->If they want me to like Lotor they better work extra hard next season. I’m beginning, BEGINNING, to actually, kinda-sorta-maybe actually like him. BEGINNING! And it is a rough start at that. But im defrosting my built-up dislike for him. It’s a burn slower than 300k words but it’s getting there. They’re gonna hold hands any chapter now.
These are thoughts I’ve been compiling for a while. I will continue to post my thoughts on the tag “laura’s first vld”
I finished Season 5 on 07/13/24. I have not yet started season 6. Stay tuned!
#laura’s first vld#vld#voltron#voltron legendary defender#can you guys tell I like lance. Be honest.#I really think I figured stuff out with shiro. I can’t let you guys know whit I *think* I know but I do. know.#imagine I get absolutely clowned by the next season. and nothing I said happens.#lets not jinx ourselves here#hooray for Sam holt!#that’s all that matters#okay i’ll shut up now#stay tuned

reviewing loki s2 ep4 (major spoilers!)
i was bit hesitant thowards this ep cuz i started noticing how this season parallels the previous one, which went very downhill after ep3 however, i think it seem to get better this time? 🤔🤭 this is so far my fav episode and hopefull they'll keep this energy for the last 2 eps. ok let's get into it:
i don't think this was timed like this on purpose but love how we're 3 days away from halloween and this episode fits with it so well. i could be biased as a horror fan but i loved the eeriness (is that even a term?)
brad you stupidass why are you listening to ravonna when she clearly doesn't care about any of your lives on the time line 😭
ooouu the box scene 😧 not miss minutes' psycho ass smiling like she's getting creepier each ep- also as someone who watches gory movies i expected to see what was left of all the prisoners but then i remembered disney tries to keep shit as "family friendly" as possible altough i am not complaining cuz it's a lot more cinematic to just hear the blood droplets & it leaves space for our imagination!
why does it feel like b-15 is lowkey the true leader of the tva now? i can definitely vibe with that.
"which way, wizard?"
B-15 is strong af for not throwing up at *that* scene but ig she has seen more gruesome sights before.
i just know ppl gonna ship o.b, casey & victor as a poly-couple and i'm a 100% there for it lmaoo
even sylvie calling it "bromance" like miss ma'am's gay radar was going havoc, and her smile when HWR death was mentioned plss🤚 😭
i know sylvie meant well when she snapped at mobius for yk, "not reading the room" but i still felt kinda bad for mobius cuz i can deffo see him as the stress eater-type.
loki mentioning thor !!!!
the parallels between thor & jane and loki & mobius hmmm.....hmmmm...
what sylvie said about anhiliation & starting from scratch reminded me of thanos in endgame, sry baby 💀
well despite of that, still think sylvie is in the middle of her positive character arc/development
we're also witnessing loki's growth !! (notice how in 1x04 mobius told him to grow up?) he's possibly even more mature then he was in the sacred time line but that was due his sctripted fate of being a "loser" that sabotaged him from more rational choices but now he's free to think & do what he wants n i love that for him.
goodbye miss minutes i assure you that nobody's gonna miss yew. 💁♀️
now why did x-5 had to ruin that wholesome moment this badly ><=$^[_=
despite of sylvie & loki not fully agreeing on moral issues and stuff, i enjoyed them working together, it was finally sylvie's turn to show off her magic 😋
loki was so soft & reassuring with victor timely only for him to be spaghettified ?? i knew they'd probs kill him off but i didn't expect it to be such a weird & immidate death 😭 kinda sad cuz i don't think they'll bring that version of him back.
idk how to feel about ravonna getting pruned. not sure she'll get redeemed cuz it's too late for that now but pruning doesn't kill an invidual so it's likely that her story doesn't just end here.
love the soundtrack in this series generally but in the latest episode it's outstanding ! natalie holt truly added her whole 🐱 into this ost 🙏
the cliffhanger is absolutely killing me, i'll have to absorb all the theories until next friday like i fr cannot wait ngfddjfsvbm

The career of the actor Andre Braugher, who has died of lung cancer aged 61, was benchmarked by two performances in police dramas a generation apart. In the groundbreaking drama Homicide: Life on the Street, from 1993 until 1999, he played Detective Frank Pembleton, whose drive immediately made him the anchor of an impressive ensemble cast led by Yaphet Kotto and Ned Beatty. He drew a younger audience with the comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013-21) as Captain Ray Holt, who takes over a chaotic homicide squad and whose intensity again makes him the heart of the show.
Braugher’s deep, resonant voice and seemingly effortless control drew the respect of all he worked with. David Simon, creator of Homicide and The Wire, said: “I’ve worked with a lot of wonderful actors. I’ll never work with one better.” His classical training, at the Juilliard School in New York, made him a regular at the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park, and indeed his portrayal of Henry V in 1996 won him an Obie (the off-Broadway equivalent of the Tony awards).
He brought the projection of the stage to the small screen. Pembleton was the master of “the Box”, or the interrogation room. He explained to his rookie partner in Homicide (played by Kyle Secor), it was “salesmanship … as silver tongued and thieving as ever moved used cars, Florida swamp land or Bibles. But what I am selling is a long prison sentence.” He dominated those small scenes, but the episode Subway, with Vincent D’Onofrio as a character pushed between subway trains, who will die once the trains are separated, was a two-hander whose intensity might have come from the stage of Beckett, Pinter or Mamet.
In Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as Holt, he played it straight in two senses. The adage of comedy being funniest when played straight gained resonance from Braugher’s ability to show the audience with a gesture or line-reading that he, like you, got the joke. But Holt is also gay. His gayness is never an issue, except as motivation for his progress within the police. It was as if Pembleton were stepping into Kotto’s “Gee” Giardello, a black man with an Italian father who was determined to rise in a white-dominated department.
This drive reflected Braugher’s own background. In the tough neighbourhood of Austin, on Chicago’s West Side, both his parents worked for the government; his father, Floyd, was a heavy equipment operator for the state of Illinois, and his mother, Sally, worked for the US Postal Service. He recalled he might have “pretended I was hard and tough and not square”, but he won scholarships to the Jesuit St Ignatius College prep and then to study mathematics at Stanford University, California. After walking into a student production of Hamlet, and playing Claudius, he decided he wanted to act.
Another scholarship took him to Juilliard. He graduated in 1988 and almost immediately was cast in a TV revival of Kojak, as his assistant. His first film role came in Glory (1989); he was so impressive as the educated Thomas Searles, forced to serve as a private soldier in the all-black regiment commanded by his white friend, that Hollywood came calling, but the parts were standard stereotyical roles. His father had questioned how a black actor would make a living, and Braugher later explained: “I’d rather not work than do a part I’m ashamed of.”
He played the lead in a TV movie, The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson (1990), playing Robinson, the first African-American player in major league baseball, who earlier in the 1940s, as a US army lieutenant, had refused to ride in the back of a segregated bus; and appeared in another TV film, The Tuskegee Airmen (1995). He was an egotistical actor in Spike Lee’s Get On the Bus (1996), about the Million Man March on Washington DC the year before. In 1998 he won his first Emmy award for playing Pembleton; he was nominated 11 times, and won his second in 2006 for his role in the miniseries Thief.
After Homicide, he starred as a doctor in Gideon’s Crossing (2000-01), as a cop in Hack (2002-04), as a car dealer in the comedy-drama Men of a Certain Age (2009-11) and as the captain of a submarine which goes on the run after he refuses to obey orders to fire nuclear missiles in Last Resort (2012-13). He had another series of remarkable two-handers in a recurring role as Hugh Laurie’s psychiatrist in House, was a defense attorney in episodes of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and voiced Governor Woodchuck Coodchuck-Berkowitz in the animated comedy BoJack Horseman.
He made the most of supporting roles in films such as Primal Fear (as Richard Gere’s investigator), Poseidon (captain of the sinking liner), Salt (as the US secretary of defense) and most notably as a New York Times editor in She Said (2022), covering the Harvey Weinstein scandal. He also starred in 10,000 Black Men Named George (2002), the story of the unionisation of Pullman railway porters, who were always called “George” by passengers.
Braugher admitted that his career “could have been larger, but it would have been at the expense of my own life”. He lived in suburban New Jersey with his wife, the actor Ami Brabson (who played Pembleton’s wife in Homicide). He said he wanted his three sons, Michael, Isaiah and John Wesley, raised in a “true context”, away from being a movie star’s offspring in Hollywood.
He is survived by his wife and sons, his brother, Charles, and his mother.

hiiyyyy!!!
also, trans HCs??
TELLL ME MORE!! :DDDD
HELLOO!
Gladly. (This will be a very long post btw)
(I know I said this at some point but idk when so sorry if im not answering this properly)
My ftm headcannons:
Peter Parker (Marvel Universe)
He knew ever since he was little
The spider bite gave him free testosterone
He also has adhd (hc) and before getting top surgery would hyperfixate and forgert he was binding
Because of this Aunt May would have to check on him and set timers ect
the scene where Tom's spiderman is like "I'm not a girl I'm a BOY- I mean I'm-I'm a MAN" is pure trans-ness
he's also bi (hc) and really terrified of getting a boyfriend and then having him not see him as a man and is actually a straight dudes
So he only dates girls
(mj/the girl Andrew's one was in love with is mtf [but she doesn't really care about her gender but knows its feminin and calls herself mtf] and always reminds him he's a real man and when he goes "but what if-" MJ hits him with a "well then aren't you saying I'm a man then?" or something)
Luke Patterson (from Julie and the phantoms)
Part of the reason his mom and him fought so much
his parents said that the band made him trans and hanging out with boys was turing him into one
But after he died they saw that he was a guy and dedicated the rest of their lives to helping (especially young) trans folk
He wasn't diagnosed as autistic or with adhd (hc) because he was seen as a girl which gave him problems in having to get his parents to listen to him about both his brain and gender
Hates sleeves = trans
The beanie. No I will not elaborate. He wore a beanie. He is trans.
The way his hair is styled is like it was grown long and cut short instead of grown short and cut to stay that way, meaning that he is very likely to have had long hair and probably cut it short himself
When he became a ghost his soul was a guy so his ghost form became a guy, meaning he had a cis guy's appearance and "biological" situation or whatever
My Name Is Luke. He wrote a song called my name is Luke.
Jake peralta (Brooklyn 99)
Gina helped him come out to his mom
Did you SEE how he looked in highschool? The long hair and earring? Litterally in denial. Plus he was best friends with a girl (not saying straight guys can't have female friends but c'mon)
He wears about 3 layers
He met Rosa in the academy and i like to think that it was transohobic and put him in a dorm with her
she didn't care but was really mad about the academy being transphobic
prison was difficult, but Caleb was also trans and it made it easier (they look down in the shower and jake says samsies, I refuse to belive it's about circumcision and think it's trans instead.)
When Jake came out to Holt they had a kinda father-son type moment and Holt said that he understood and if Jake ever needed anything to come to him
He was still wearing a binder in the first few seasons (screw the scenes where he's shirtless) and the pain is unbearable because he's irresponsible (cue Gina and Rosa basically grounding him and everyone finding out he's trans)
Hiccup Haddock The 3rd (How to train Your Dragon)
He's 15 in the first movie. 15. My boy looks like he's 12
He's not as buff as the other guys his age and in one of the episodes where he's 15 bucket does a painting of him and Stowick and makes him extra buff, Stowick likes it more and Hiccup feels like crap (because he's trans)
Everyone sees him as a screw up and won't even let him ououtside
We never see him shirtless
"But he grows a beard eventually!" Yes but how long did that take him? My guy invented a flaming sword i think he'd be able to get testosterone from sosomewhere.
Kids? Sperm doner! (yes i know they're vikings but they could always just like... yk)
He doesn't have a bulge in his pants
He felt like an outsider and seeing toothless be the only nightfury made him just feel really connected to him
He didn't change his name
When he meets his mom she's obviously suprised but understands what's going on
My mtf headcanons:
Carrie (Julie and the phantoms)
Trevor understood fully because of Luke and asked her if she wanted a new name and what pronouns to use
He sometimes messed up with her pronouns at first but he tries really hard to get them right
When she came out he game her his credit card to buy new clothes with and quickly learned that was a very bad idea
She figured out her gender but was still figuring out her sexuality
She started dating nick as a power move to try and gain popularity (it worked)
She went on puberty blockers at 13 and it meant she was able to get a high voice but still does voice training as well (i dont know much about mtf voice stuff im sorry 😭)
After season one the boys were able to become visible to lifers when they want to be and she and Luke become trans bff's
loves pink
(I'm sorry I cant think of anymore mtf ones mainly because im ftm and those hc come from projecting onto charichters)
Nonbinary:
Oh my gosh I forgot their name 🤦 (from jatp)
(The member of dirty candy who Reggie likes)
Idk. But they are. She goes by they/she pronouns too, and I cant really say much else because they're a side character.
And also MJ from the Tom Holland spidermans is a genderfluid girl
Im sorry im too tired to elaborate any further I will think of more tho C:
[Edited]

Victoria Holt
Biographical information
Full Name: Victoria Holt
Alias(es): Nerium Nightshade
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Lesbian
Status: Deceased
Age: 60 (season 1)
Birth: 1953
Race: Human
Cause of Death: Electrocution
Nationality: Dutch
Origin: Holland, Netherlands

India (formerly)
Holland, Netherlands (formerly)
Profession(s): Scientist
Affiliation(s):
Switch Laboratories
SOMBRA
Profile
Height: 5'4" Age: 60 (season 1) Weight: 137lbs Eyes: blue Blood: A+
Hailing from the Netherlands, Victoria Holt was the owner of Switch Laboratories. She had strawberry-blonde hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. She wore a simple red dress, an orange lab coat, and a DNA pattern scarf.
Synopsis
Victoria was the victim of A Shock to the Team.
She used to own Switch Laboratories, a lab that, on the surface, was working to cure diseases. But behind the scenes, they were creating custom poisons to kill people. Victoria and Gustave were the only ones aware of SL's true intentions; the rest of the employees thought they were doing good work.
But unknown to Gustave, Victoria worked for SOMBRA, who also funded her operations. SOMBRA was using Victoria's poisons to "weed out the weak" but killing their enemies. Because Victoria's poisons were so unique, it would appear like people died of natural causes, such as a heart attack or stroke. She also sold her poisons privately on the black market, and no one traced these murders back to Victoria.
But Nathan eventually discovered Victoria's devious plans. He learned the truth while autopsying one of the volunteer test subjects. After realizing that Project Elysium was killing people on purpose instead of saving them, he contacted his grandfather, the Director of U.N.I.T at the time. With the agency's help, they destroyed the lab and research, arresting many of the employees.
But Victoria fled with SOMBRA's help and vowed revenge on Nathan for his betrayal. She couldn't believe after everything she did for him; he would stab her in the back. She gave him his sight, helped with his education, gave him a job at her lab, and that was how he repaid her?!
She stayed a free woman for many years as she evaded U.N.I.T. Victoria tried to recreate her work, but without the data, she couldn't do it. And then she realized that Nathan would be the key to helping her. He helped U.N.I.T. confiscate her work and was sure he would have remembered the formulas and know how to recreate them.
So, Victoria contacted Gustave, who was now out of prison, and the two tracked Nathan down to Grimsborough. They also found other old employees of SL, but no one wanted anything to do with them. But the two were persistent and tried to restart their work in a secret lab hidden underneath an abandoned iPear store Gustave owned.
Victoria even went as far as to threaten Nathan's son Avi. The coroner agreed to go with her to the lab so that she wouldn't hurt the boy, but once there, he attacked Victoria, knocking her out. He tried to destroy the work inside but found no files, so he fled before she woke up.
But Nathan knocking Victoria out would make it easier for Gustave to murder her. Gustave was angry when he saw that Victoria had failed to get Nathan back. He knew he could get the coroner to cooperate with the right incentives, and if she were going to be useless, he wouldn't risk her ruining his chances at a better life.
Gustave strapped Victoria to a chair and hooked up jumper cables to it and the shop's electric panel. With a flick of a switch, he turned on the shop's sign and electrocuted Victoria in the process. He left her burnt corpse inside and began formulating a plan to escape Grimsborough, taking Nathan with him.
Story Information
First appeared: A Shock to the Team
Trivia
The name of the case she was a victim in, A Shock to the Team, is a reference to the pilot episode (A Shock to the System) from the cartoon Static Shock
The SOMBRA connection was a change I made after I edited my first story, The Case of The Criminal, in 2021
She sold her custom poisons on the black market under the disguise of Nerium Nightshade
She wore a mask when making sales; the most common ones looked like skulls

Allura is a rising star in the top fuel dragster circuit, taking up her father’s mantle after his fiery death during a race with quintessence-injected fuel. Allura knows racing can be lethal. But between competing against her father’s rival and once-friend, Zarkon, and dealing with his arrogant son Lotor, she barely has time to consider the types of danger she’s in.

With Lotor's comet ship destroyed and his crew dead and gone, Lotor's been captured by the Voltron crew, and is suffering through injuries compromising to his form. He's at the mercy of Allura and the others, and slowly, secrets that were once hidden under lock and key come spilling out about his history, and more importantly, things crawling under his skin. Or, will Lotor prove to be the blackest sheep of them all?

His existence brings to light an even greater conspiracy than Team Voltron could have imagined possible.
Rites Of Passage M 20,110
A story about Lotor's first captured Alliance ship. Told from his pov. Language warning, sex, violence and an unhealthy amount of the Crown Prince's famous ego.

Perdu M 40,652
He did everything they'd asked of him. He had fought a war that had not been his to begin with because it was the right thing to do, because at the end of it all stood the promise of returning to his family. He was done. He wanted home. What he did not expect was for a man obviously just as lonely as him to join him on the journey. A man willing to listen, willing to understand. So many possible realities and so many ways that it could go wrong. Or maybe just right.
Gone With The Fallen Leaves M 51,577
The longer Lotor stays with the team, the more Shiro begins to dream of what seems to be his past. It makes his life even more complicated.
Temporary Accommodations T

Lance makes the mistake of telling his Mom he has a boyfriend coming home

Where People Go To Die M 48,805 SERIES
Lotor mistakenly believes that Lance, acting as a spy for the Galra, has killed Keith, and invites him to return to the Empire with him. Team Voltron uses this to their advantage. “You finally get to return to your real people, Blue Paladin. You no longer have to run around with those…scumbags? Is that a term they use on Earth to describe the lowest filth they can think of?” Recognition seemed to dawn on the Blue Paladin’s face. “Oh! Right—well, I’m…not quite finished with my mission,” the Paladin said, returning his bayard to his side. He bent down and yanked up the Red Paladin, “I, uh—have to get rid of him myself, you know? Make sure he’s really dead and all that. Put him somewhere where no one will find him and be able to revive him.”
Shadow Of The Past T
When Lance is thrown through time, he finds himself one year in the future, in place of the Lance that should be here. He finds his team to be remarkably familiar, yet distinctly different. They have more scars, a better grip on the whole saving the universe thing, and over a year’s worth of teamwork to bind them together. But the weirdest part? Keith seems to be a lot more touchy with him. Not that he’s complaining… much. The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance’s places and restore them to their original timelines. But despite the fact that they’re still his friends, Lance can’t help but feel a little out of place among a team that’s been through so much with a Lance that just isn’t him. And it doesn’t help that the team is on edge around him, refusing to tell him anything for fear of influencing and changing the past. Things get even more complicated when they have to rely on the team in the past to complete the switch, leaving Lance to little more than sit, wait, and attempt to fill in his future self’s shoes.
Ghost Of The Future T
When Lance is thrown through time, his future self from one year ahead is transported to the past in his place. This Lance is faster, stronger, and markedly more mature. Not only that, but he's distinctly more intuitive about his teammates and A LOT more touchy with Keith. The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance's places and restore them to their original timelines. Things only get more complicated when the Future Lance can't seem to remember where he was when the switch happened, and he refuses to reveal anything about his own time for fear of influencing the team's decisions.

In order to form Voltron though, Lance will have to learn to accept and trust Keith as a member of their team. To make matters even worse though? Keith is also pretty damned cute.

The Stars Are Shining Red And Blue T 1,620
Akira Kogane was known for five things in the Western Sector of the American Empire:-His eyes, a shining unnatural indigo that was no doubt the effect of layered mutations-His knife, sharp and with deadly accuracy, known to leave marks and often mistaken as a sword in some accounts of his escapades-His scar, running down his left cheek, story untold.-His hair, white as snow and obviously dyed, but iconic nonetheless. And his ruthless behavior, his inability to feel, to empathize, to understand when to stop. People feared him because he wasn’t afraid to cross boundaries, and that was just how he wanted it.
Chase It Down T 11,529
The helmet was taken off in one smooth pull and Leandro’s retort dried up on his tongue. Akira’s helmet hid….a lot. Like the shock of snow white hair that was half up, half curled around his shoulders as long, choppy bangs fell gently over his forehead. They almost obscured the annoyance that reflected in eyes the color of dusk from a rooftop and thick eyebrows furrowed, contorting an unfairly symmetrical face into a grimace that only further accentuated his handsome-scratch that-beautiful features. Leandro’s eyes, raked over the long tan scar that started from the bottom of Akira’s left cheek and ended just below his eye, an unnatural marker of some past struggle that shocked Leandro with such a powerful wave of familiarity, he could feel his body start to sway. Swords clanging in dim hallways, lips pressed to healing skin, fingers brushing hair back, ocean salt and wildfire, red and blue-The last thing saw before falling forward was Akira’s gorgeously angry expression quickly shift into one of concern as he ran forward to catch Leandro’s collapsing form.
Ride Or Die NR 6,377
“Let's get out of here while that dude’s still distracted with his stab wound, ” Akira grabbed Leandro’s arm hastily.
“You stabbed him?” he asked, genuinely shocked that Akira managed to land a hit on him. Akira nodded as he dragged Leandro to the back exit as quickly as he could.
Akira turned to face Leandro,“My motorcycle is parked in the alley next to the restaurant to the le--”
“Hold up! Go back like, 3 steps. You have a motorbike?” Leandro interrupted.
Akira raised an eyebrow, “Yeah, so?”
He shrugged, “That’s hot.”
Akira choked on air as blood rushed to his cheeks, “Okay, that's enough out of you, fugitive.”

Beacon NR
An emergency mission to answer a distress call wasn’t unusual. The urgency in Allura’s voice wasn’t necessarily unusual, either—she was very much of the mind that Voltron was obligated to answer every single distress call brought to their attention. Being the defender of the known universe came with a certain number of responsibilities, after all. But seeing the pinched, pale look on both Allura and Coran’s faces when they converged on the bridge was unusual. "The universe is vast even in terms of those planets still yet beyond the grips of the Galra. But…. the distress call came from the Terra Firma Quadrant.” Earth.
The Price Of Victory T SERIES
As a Galran Prince, Commander and Druid Acolyte, in an Empire steeped in magic, violence, deception and betrayal, Lotor is conversely one of the most powerful yet powerless beings in the universe. But when Lotor has finally achieved his wildest dreams and the universe is at peace, the pillar he has built his life around is cruelly snatched from his side. Now, in an unlikely alliance with the Red Paladin, the two seek to regain all they have lost. If anyone had ever told Matt Holt that he’d become not only an alien abductee, but a modern day Helen of Troy, that his face would one day launch a thousand ships, with an alien Prince leading the massive armada, he’d have asked to analyze whatever drugs they were using for his biochemistry thesis. But that was before he was made a slave, before the enigmatic Prince Lotor rescued him and became Emperor, before four of the Paladins of Voltron were betrayed and imprisoned, and Lotor and Keith came to save them. All Matt had wanted was to be reunited with his family, to finally go home, but now the Earth is threatened with annihilation because of it

Stay Of Execution T 2,875
When the Altean Empire rose to power, Empress Allura converted the Galran Royal Guard into her personal hit squad. Movie Review: “John Lennon: Murder without a Trial”
There’s an unseemliness about “John Lennon: Murder without a Trial” the film that begins with people adjacent to the Beatle’s last day getting their 15 minutes of attention and ends with the movie makers offering what’s tantamount to a mitigation hearing for the man who murdered Lennon Dec. 8, 1980, outside the Dakota building in New York City.
Based on public records, including previously unseen crime-scene photos; and interviews with eyewitnesses, Lennon’s friends, psychiatrists, detectives, prosecutors and attorneys for the Beatle’s confessed killer, the three-part Apple+ documentary narrated by Kiefer Sutherland begins with “The Last Day” and directors Nick Holt and Rob Coldstream allowing Dakota employees, cab drivers, New York City cops, hospital staff and others to talk about their interactions with Lennon just before and after the shooting.
“I just thought it was so tragic, that was the only time I got to meet him,” a retired Roosevelt Hospital nurse and Beatles fan says of Lennon coming to her ER after being shot.
This unfortunate quote illustrates the voyeuristic vibe that permeates the film, as when a cop on the final episode - “The Trial” - states proudly that he was the only detective on the case who did not read “The Catcher in the Rye,” the book Lennon’s murderer carried with him to New York.
In any event, “The Trial” finds the killer’s childhood friends, a former girlfriend and his ex-pastor talking about what went wrong in the gunman’s life while defense attorneys stress he was mentally ill when he committed the heinous, attention-seeking crime. To the directors’ credit, they do give former prosecutors the opportunity to dispel that notion and argue prison is where the killer belonged and still belongs.
Which leaves Episode 2 - “The Investigation” - as the only one of the 35-minute segments that doesn’t cause the viewer to recoil. But anyone who cares about Lennon and/or the Beatles enough to watch “Murder without a Trial” is unlikely to learn much beyond the fact that the person seen hidden under a jacket in contemporary footage that purports to show Lennon’s murderer being escorted to a court hearing was actually a decoy used to prevent a revenge killing. We know Nixon and the FBI tracked Lennon years before he received his Green Card.
Those who lived through Lennon’s murder and its aftermath will be jolted back four decades via the announcement on “Monday Night Football” and archival news footage of vigils, Ringo Starr navigating a scrum to visit Yoko Ono at the Dakota and Paul McCartney’s tone-deaf comments to British media as he learned the news. But you could probably find that video elsewhere and the 90 minutes needed to take in “John Lennon: Murder without a Trial” would be much better spent listening to Lennon and/or Beatles music of your choosing rather than sitting through this creepy, not-very-revealing documentary.

Like s1 e3 return of the champion and the implications of Shiro’s amnesia of his time as a gladiator like he doesn’t know what lengths he was driven to he doesn’t know what he did all he knows is that other prisoners are afraid of him and his reputation and that he hurt his friend on his first day and the contrast between his conscious behavior as leader versus the reputation as champion gladiator like the fears that must haunt his mind and that his flashbacks are so clearly awful and uncomfortable but Useful oh so Useful even when they take him out of battle for chunks of time and like how strong is the mental link do the kids pick up on his flashbacks or just the stress. Just like how awful it is that he must be comforted that at least his trauma is useful in fighting to protect the universe. To hope for flashbacks to tell you an enemy’s weakness. Also the dynamic with Pidge in that episode like the kid you’re now the guardian of thinks you hurt her brother and maybe you did- you don’t remember enough to defend yourself - but you have to work together and even override her determination to protect her bc you lost two Holts you cannot lose this third one, the youngest one- and like he did remember and was able to explain why he hurt Matt and that reassures Her, but still, to know bloodthirsty was the reputation you cultivated and little else….
Also “you’re as anxious as me” Shiro lines of all time to me
The v*ltron brain rot which had barely barely left is back full force. Season one is simply everything to me. Season of television hand crafted for me personally.
#Voltron#vld#SORRY I NEEDED TO RANT WHILE WATCHING#shiro is simply everything to me#this is a grammatically bad stream of consciousness bc it was ether type this or flap my hands for the duration of the episode

H&M Documentary Review: Episode 6
I watched this while angry that Argentina won the World Cup so I’m already in a bad mood lol sorry if the bitchness was running wild
(my commentary in italics)
- Harry: “we are on the freedom light” shut up
- “It felt like they were running” shut up
- talking about Tyler Perry now
- he sent Meghan a letter before the wedding, they never talked and then she called him crying in Canada???
- Tyler saying Diana was thrown to the wolves after the divorce
- Now he says what the institution did to H&M is the same ‘abuse’ as what his mother faced in a physically abusive relationship because they took away their money and security to force them to come back.....no they did that because they were no longer working royals NEXT
- like this man literally admits to not knowing anything about the royals and now he is talking like is the expert be for real
- “They just wanted to be free and be happy” they’re not prisoners of war gosh the lack of awareness is wild
- “No one knew you were there” yes they did for someone so obsessed with the media did you miss the daily mail articles about y’all moving to LA
- wow paparazzi can take pictures of you from hundreds of feet away? If only there was a property where that was not allowed and somewhere your children go run free without being photographed......somewhere like Windsor maybe?
- they’re going hard on the Mail.....seems a bit silly to piss off one of Britain’s largest tabloids like this but oh well
- talking about her miscarriage
- Harry blaming the miscarriage on the Mail.......this man is something else
- btw the story her friend told on the miscarriage is different than what Meghan wrote about it.
- the editing in this doc is weird as hell, it goes from them talking about their causes, to Meghan’s reaction to the BLM movement in the news to this random montage of home videos of them?
- Meghan saying Harry’s so fun after he makes the most unfunny joke I ever heard. No one laughed.
- James Holt either shut up or use the braincells God gave you challenge
- saying the journalist who releaved the bullying allegations ‘admitted’ to doing it right before the Oprah interview is another half-truth in this doc. He did it because the victims wanted their story out there before H&M could probably twist the whole thing and play the victim.
- institutional gaslighting????? harry shush and stop bringing up the diana comparisons ever two seconds I am tired
- they recorded themselves reacting to the Oprah interview
- Meghan saying she thought most people would focus on what she said about dealing with depression and mental health issues.....girly there’s no way that’s true be serious
- ‘Beyonce just texted’ and Meghan justs reads the text out loud lmfao
- Meghan reacting to the BP statement after the Oprah interview and Harry shows Meghan a text from William on his phone to which she says ‘wow’
- Meghan looking at travel arrangements for Harry to go back to the UK after Prince Philip died because that man is incompetent
- something about Harry being ok being filmed non-stop after his grandfather died is weird to me but whatever
- Harry reading the statement he wrote in Philip’s honor is so tacky to me bitch have some respect
- ‘He went quietly. He went peacefully’ aham
- Harry says William and Charles were focused on the same misinterpretation of the situation
- “I’ve had to make peace with the fact that we’re probably never going to get genuine accountability or a genuine apology “ BITCH BE FOR REALLLLL
- “My wife and I we’re moving on” YOU CALL MOVING ON???? TALKING ABOUT IT NON STOP?????
- Harry says he sees a lot of Meghan in Archie and a lot of Diana in Lili. Nothing from the Windsors then huh
- TYLER PERRY is Lili’s godfather???? is this common knowledge or what I swear I did not know about this
- also pretty sure the public still doesn’t know who Archie’s godparents are?? But the celeb gets announced like this, got it (also does this mean she was baptized outside of the Church of England?)
- btw they are showing quite a lot of footage of Lili now, before it was all Archie
- NOT EUGENIE GIRLLLLLL (I hope William yelled at her about this too)
- Meghan’s lawyer talks a LOT of crap for someone who is a lawyer and knows she can’t just say shit without proof. Implying that William told Jason to send in a statement to harm Meghan’s case against the Mail without any evidence is shady girl
- Meghan “it’s your brother, I’m not going to say anything about your brother but it’s so obvious” again girly show me the obvious evidence then
- Meghan says her niece Ashley is back into her life but like why did she even leave her life again???? Its the big bag palace to blame once more?
- By the way, it’s interesting that they try not to show Lili’s face but Archie’s is no problem.
- Meghan saying their kids now get to have moments out in the world and travel and sorry to break it to you luv so do the Waleses
- Harry saying LA is one of the places Diana would have lived eventually???? bro
- Nacho saying Harry always wanted a more normal, simple life why didn’t he leave the family to join the army then when he had the change? Also, what’s simple about a $15 million dollar mansion in Montecito?
- there’s so many footage and pictures of Harry and Meghan out and I genuinely wonder who took those like do they get the children to do it?? a professional photographer??
- Meghan read the speech she read at the wedding and it was written in that fancy caligraph of hers and the whole thing was so cringey
- (do you think they did it for the first time in that tent in botswana)
- the constant montages of the home videos with some crappy song in the background makes me want to scream
- “in response to allegations that Mr. Knauf submitted a voluntary witness statement in connection with the Daily Mail litigation with the consent of Prince William’s office, a representative for Mr. Knauf sent the following statement: ‘these claims are entirely false. Mr. Knauf was asked to provide evidence by both The Duchess of Sussex and Associate Newspapers” LMFAO TELL THEM JASON (Meghan’s attorneys then clap back that they didn’t ask for a statement and he did not remain neutral in the process because he was working for the Cambs this is so dumb and so easy to proof like why are them doing all of this)
I’M FREE!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY FUCKING LIFE!!!! (this is about the doc and the world cup by the way I’m glad both are done)
Anyway, this doc is boring and full of inconsintencies and this could cause no harm to the family whatsover although it will be HILARIOUS if they get invited to the coronation and actually show up. 0/10 do not reccomend.

Top 5 Jake in love with Amy moments and Top 5 Amy in love with Jake moments
BESTIE THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG POST
TOP 5 JAKE IN LOVE WITH AMY MOMENTS (not in order)
THE FUNERAL: this is sort of obvious, Jake was ready to give up his job just so he can be with Amy even though they had been in a relationship for 6 days??? he was definitely in love with her and just wanted to be with her
CHASING AMY: this entire episode he was such a supportive boyfriend, him setting up practice tests for her, remembering all the little things about her, the callback to the bet episode where we find out that Jake has been in love with her since the the bet ep, Jake saying that she can't be afraid of being successful because she's too good for that??? Amazing. Spectacular. So in love with his Ames.
THE FUGITIVE PART 1 : the line "your happiness is way more important to me than winning some stupid bet" just shows how much he cares/loves about her
Also the fact that he started reading Harry Potter only because Amy liked them so much is also just amazing.
TRYING: "Amy we are a family, you and me" NEED I SAY MORE HE IS SO IN LOVE
HALLOVEEN: this is also pretty obvious. The only thing that kept him sane through his prison experience was planning for the heist which we know is a proposal to Amy! The scene in locker room where Jake is handcuffed and Amy is going on about how she knows him so well that he has lost the ability to surprise her, then later on the in the episode he surprises her by proposing? Him admitting that she is the best detective? Even though we know from an episode in season 1 (Operation: Broken Feather) he has always considered Amy as the better detective!!! Kudos to the writers for giving us such a perfect episode.
+ special mentions
MAXIMUM SECURITY: I'm sorry his line, "I'm the one that's not tough enough to be in here watching the woman I love, unarmed, locked up with all these murderers, it's just too much for me" yeah. YEAH. Jake peralta did that. I loved the fact that Jake didn't make Amy take herself off the case but he took himself out of the situation as he was the one who was not able to handle seeing her in danger.
HE SAID,SHE SAID: this episode though. Jake learning that Amy's previous captain thought he deserved something after he helped her become a detective? His reactions in the scene were so good, I could feel the anger, pain, sadness radiating off of him through the screen. Him watching a netflix documentary on feminism? YES PLS.
ALSO THE FACT THAT HE JUST KNOWS WHATS THE RIGHT THING TO DO AFTER HE LOOKS AT HER FACE? EVERYTHING THAT SEEMED SO COMPLICATED BECOMES EASY?
TOP 5 AMY IN LOVE WITH JAKE MOMENTS:
GREG AND LARRY: Amy was spiraling the entire plane ride wondering if Jake is safe or not. Her worrying on what if she doesn't get to say I love you SO MUCH. she is very in love with him your honour.
THE CRUISE: Amy being the first one to say I love you? Amazing. Her helping Jake to try to catch Judy this entire episode, she could have just told Jake to ignore him but she knows how important this is to Jake so she helps him.
THE GOLDEN CHILD: the way she is so protective of him also the line "I spent my whole life trying to beat David at something, but when you were I'm danger, I just didn't care anymore. All I wanted was for you to be ok" she loves him so much :)
HONEYMOON: how she stood up against Holt when he called Jake selfish? Season 1 Amy could never. Jake being like I don't wanna get mad right now because he knows Amy is worried about Holt bUT then Amy is like screw that. So yeah a top tier moment.
THE BET: I know this was the episode where Jake fell in love with Amy but I think this episode also showed us just how much she knows, cares, respects Jake. Also the look she has on her face when she finds out Jake could have called for the night shift team to handle the stakeout and continue his plan of embarrassing her BUT HE DIDNT. So yes. She is very in love with him and she is also very in denial about it in this episode.
CRIME AND PUNISHMENT: the fact that she was willing to wait for like what 14 years??? The fact that she won't give up on him and would continue fighting against Lt. Hawkins. If that's not being in love with someone I don't know what is.
+ special mentions
SHE DOUBLE TUCKED FOR HIM
BOYLE-LINETTI WEDDING: she appreciated the fact that Jake was willing to help her out with her case even though he didn't need to. The look between Jake and Amy at the end of this episode was just a chef's kiss.
A MOMENT FOR BOTH JAKE AND AMY BEING IN LOVE WITH EACHOTHER:
THE LAST DAY PART 2: the fact that they are willing to do anything for each other. Them in the last two episodes hit different. You can see how much they have grown and made each other better over the years and yeah Jake willing to take a step back from work and being ready to take care of Mac so that Amy can achieve her dream? Amy saying that he doesn't have to do that cause she knows how much he loves his job,her always being surprised by how sure of everything he is? Little does she know it's because of her ;)
So yes, that concludes my rant about these two idiots being head over heels for each other.

Please let Kim and Adam’s absolute sweetness and devotion to each other in this episode be an indication of proportionally how much Adam is going to lose his mind when he finds out that three people in his unit have allowed his wife to be terrified thinking her would-be murderer is out to get her. I don’t even care if all Kim’s PTSD is off-screen until the next Kim-centric episode. I’m living for that moment. I make no apologies for my love of Protective!Adam. 😭
Oh Anon. ANON.
I have a fic mostly plotted around this (which was around Burzek being together anyway so like yes vindication and yes I am the living embodiment of the Holt meme rn), but like.
We saw how much it hurt about Sal. Adam’s known him since he was a kid, they’re close.
But Voight has been like a Dad to Adam. He’s trained him, he’s spent time with him. He’s saved Adam’s back, Adam was willing to go to prison to save Voight from it. We saw all of this. We saw how much being the mole hurt Adam.
Jay’s betrayal will sting, especially with Jay’s PTSD history that Adam knows about because of the break room couch moment. Haileys is gonna hurt like hell, she’s one of his best friends.
But Voight hiding it? Voight hiding that Kim and Makayla have been safe this whole time? Adam is going to want to burn the city to the ground and Paddy will act the shit out of it.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 5 Retrospective
Finished season 5 rewatch a few days ago. Season 5 was an eventful year for the show, on and off the screen. Off screen the show got cancelled on Fox, had a huge public outcry over the cancellation which included several celebrities, and then got picked up by NBC all in 48 hours. It was an exhilarating time as a B99 fan. Lot of stuff happened on screen as well, Jake and Rosa were in prison, team got them out, Jake and Amy got engaged, Rosa came out as bisexual to the precinct and her parents, Holt was in the running to be NYPD Commissioner, Amy became a Sergeant, and then Jake and Amy got married. Eventful season to say the least. Its also my favorite season of the show.
Honestly, this season is about as close to perfection I felt with a season. In other seasons there are at least an episode or two which I felt were meh or problematic. Season 5 is near flawless. I think Return to Skyfire is the weakest of the episodes but its still pretty fun. There are several episodes of season 5 that all rank in the top 10 B99 episodes in my opinion. The show also takes some risks with a couple of experimental episodes. There are episodes with a lot of heart, there are episodes that absolutely hilarious, there are ensemble episodes, there are two hander episode. some excellent new guest stars, and many great recurring stars.
I think the two prison episodes are pretty interesting. Tim Meadows as Caleb is absolutely amazing. He is so likable and low key hilarious that the fact that he's a cannibal who eats children always feels like a dark surprise. He and Andy Samberg make for a fun duo. The first of the two episodes is particularly fun. The show doesn't hesitate to show the danger of Jake being in the prison, especially the situation he finds himself by the end of the premiere. The show does connect one story to the next pretty seamlessly with the end of the Melanie Hawkins story connecting the the Seamus Murphy story which then connected to the Holt commissioner story. There are also a couple of really good experiments in experiments and story with The Box and Show Me Going. The Box is B99 at its most confident. Apart from Gina very briefly at the beginning and Boyle very briefly at the end, the entire episode really hinges on only three characters. Jake, Holt, and Sterling K. Brown's Dr. Davidson. Its a brilliant showcase for all three actors and all three characters. I believe Brown got a Guest Actor Emmy nomination for his performance and he's brilliant as the smarmy Dentist who really is in control for majority of the episode. Braugher and Samberg were old pros with their dynamic at this point and this is fantastic Jake and Holt episode because you completely get why Jake wants so badly to prove that he's right in front of Holt why being cast as the screw up and the idiot in the interrogation frustrates him so much because we know how much Holt's approval means to him. We also see why Terry call Jake his best detective back in season 1 because of how he riles up Davidson to get the confession at the end and getting the approval of Holt that he wanted. Its an incredibly satisfying episode and one of the show's best imo. Then there is also 'Show me Going' which is a surprisingly tense episode in which nothing tense actually happens on screen. The episode does a great job working with the fact that the only knowledge the squad has is that Rosa is on the scene of an active shooter situation. Basically we are in the same situation as the characters. Since all the characters are on edge, so are we. The show does a nice job balancing humor and recognize the danger of the situation.
The season has probably my favorite B99 episode and definitely by fav B99 Halloween episode with HalloVeen. Whereas the last three Halloween episodes were predictable or spoiled from the promos, this one actually threw a genuine surprise. I knew Jake and Amy would get engaged some point in the season, but I expected it to be on the much hyped 99th episode. Instead it can much earlier with HallowVeen and its a delight from start to finish. Its great to rewatch the episode because you pick up little signs that Jake was a bit more desperate to win than usual. First when he says that planning for the heist is what got him through prison time, and then when he says to Boyle that he has to win this time and this heist is way too important. On first watch, these details just slip by as regular overzealous Jake but they have additional poignancy on repeat. The actual proposal moment is handled beautifully in a very peraltiago way where it is both funny and romantic, with Charles' reaction being the cherry on top. There are quite a few strong related episodes that follow. The Venue being a fun return with the Vulture, Two Turkeys being a TWW reunion with Smits and Whitford returning as Amy and Jake's fathers. Its a better Thanksgiving episode than the previous season Smits appearance. Bachelor/ette party is another glorious episode with wild, fun shenanigans with Reginald VelJohnson appearing as himself. Jake & Amy is a very typical wedding episode where everything goes wrong but its perfect in all the right ways. Its heartwarming and sweet. You get more examples of how Jake and Amy are perfect for each other with Jake knowing the inside and outs of how Amy stresses out, and then ending on a wonderful B99 wedding with Fred Armisen returning to make a cameo appearance as Mlep(clay)nos. The episode was designed to work as a series finale since the potential for cancellation was there and while it leaves the season on a cliffhanger about Holt's job, its the sort of cliffhanger that we could have interpreted positively if the show hadn't gotten picked up by NBC.
The 99th and 100th episode of the show were also memorable. The creators chose to acknowledge the 99th episode in a way that most shows acknowledge the 100th episode, in true 99 style. Its a full ensemble episode barring the absence of Chelsea who would return on the 100th episode. Its a typical road trip episode which kickstarts the Holt commissioner storyline. It also is the episode where Rosa comes out as Bi to Charles. This was obviously a big story for Stephanie since she is bi as well and she championed this story. It gets explored in further depth next episode, but Stephanie Beatriz gets to do some of her best work in these two episodes, showing her vulnerability without losing her toughness. Game Night honestly feels very true to not just coming out as Bi to your parents but true to any child who has to confess something that would be against their conservatives parents' values. I think Game Night is a fantastically bittersweet episode and Danny Trejo is brilliantly cast as Rosa's father. The episode positions him as the parent whose reaction Rosa is most worried about and I love how they show that while its difficult for him to grasp the concept bisexuality, he comes around to accepting it and accepting Rosa. But the episode is still bittersweet with Rosa's mom not having come to terms with it. Its also an excellent Rosa and Jake episode where we see Jake endure incredibly uncomfortable situations to help Rosa. Its a characteristic that helps make Jake so endearing that he's willing to cross all limits for his friends.
There are lots of fun and hilarious episodes in between. Craig Robinson shows up as Doug Judy in The Negotiations which is another fun ep. Kevin and Jake get a great episode dealing with their dynamic in Safe House. Rosa and Amy have some fun in White Whale as the Sleuth Sisters. Pimento returns in Gray Star Mutual for some more crazy shenanigans. Gray Star Mutual also has my favorite cold open of all time with Jake leading a suspect lineup in a rendition of 'I got it that way', totally forgetting the crime that he's got the lineup for. Its pitch perfect and I've lost count of how many times I've seen that cold open on youtube. It basically has its own fanbase and introduced so many people to B99. We also get to see Naseem Pedrad as Jake's sister Katie and the end up having a cute dynamic. David Fumero shows up in The Puzzle Master. There are also pretty funny episodes dealing with some serious subject matter such Jake dealing with his own doubts in his ability to do his job after Prison in Kicks and Holt dealing with gambling addiction in Bad Beat. All handled very sensitively.
All in all, this was a fantastic season for the show. I had a blast rewatching it and it ended the Fox era in spectacular note. A 9.5/10. Now on to season 6.

Destiel Chronicles
Vol. CII
It was a love story from the very beginning.
The Bad Joke and The Scoobynatural
(13x14/13x15)
Hello there!!! This time I'm gonna talk about one of the most OOC episodes ever and one of our favs episodes Scoobynatural. I put them together bc one was so bad I needed some fresh air. Hehehehe.
Let's start!
So OOC that hurts...
Episode 13x15 "A Most Holly Man" was written by Dabb but also by Robert Singer.
This episode was odd, with easy bad jokes, and OOC. It also had Wincest subtext, and it was very messy.
If you rewatch the entire season, this episode seems to be out of context. If they've wouldn't put the search for the element they needed for the spell, it could have been passed as an episode from another show.
I could write more criticism, but let's just talk about little pieces of dialogue that worked as clues, I'm very sure it were put by Dabb (even if I dislike his writing) more than Singer.
The three elements the gangsters wanted to get were:
Incense: Is used by christian rituals to elevate prayers and gifts from the parishioners to God. This could be speaking of Chuck coming in the next season.
Chalice: The chalice represents sacrifice for christianity. The Holt Blood of Jesus Christ that have his life for humanity. So, is talking about a future huge sacrifice. It could be taken for Dean and his Mal'ak box or Castiel in 15x18.
Skull: it's related to death, and it could be speaking of Mary Winchester death in season 14.
Another little take from this episode was this little piece of dialogue:
MARGARET: Oh, don’t thank me yet. Greenstreet has all the trappings of a gentleman, but… I would advise caution.
Okay subtle, but not that much. The last name is a combination of two words GREEN and STREET, it's obviously related to Dean, and the quote after this 'has all the trappings is a gentleman, but... I would advise caution." It's obviously talking about AUMichael!Dean.
A brief comment about the Wincest subtext... We had Sam flirting with Margaret and Dean showing signs of jealousy, it could be taken as annoyance, but, because is Singer involved, I would say it was intentionally written to be Wincest subtext. And after this we had Dean flirting... Super out of character, with a brunette... With a lame excuse... Unnecessary. But it worked to make this time Sam the jealous one. Connecting the drops, my dears...
Dean has faith again and the distracting rubbing lips...
In this episode we can also rescue another good points as Dean declaring he has faith. Remember at the beginning of the season he was lost and faithless, I ask myself what could happen to make Dean to recover his faith???
Oh yes, Cas is back.
Then the rubbing lips... We had the same gesture from Cas in the previous episode, so, I wrote two entire metas about how Dabb team used the hands to show foreshadow. So I truly thought Dean and Cas would kiss... Hehehehe. It could fit perfectly, but nah.
This episode also talked about how a priest, a righteous, a saint man, was trying to get the most precious thing for his community.
Trying to get back the most important thing he had, willing to make any sacrifice for it, it's the same would lead Dean to say 'yes' to Michael. When Lucifer kidnaps Sam and Jack.
(This could be just nice because family, and because Dean raised Sam, so Sam represents a son and such, but, because is Singer... Wincest again.)
Another piece of dialogue I found is the following...
FATHER LUCCA: (...)And what your brother’s doing, it’s a good thing.
DEAN: Yeah, or a stupid thing.
FATHER LUCCA: Or both. Many times, they can be the same.
This is telling Castiel's name, Because Dean is always asking him not to do stupid things.
Another foreshadow was Father Lucca talking about Lying is wrong, is a sin. This was the preamble to one of the most revealing episode that will bring Chuck back. The episode in which Jack erase the ability of telling lies in the whole world population.
Dean's cave meaning and visual narrative.
Episode 13x16 was full of symbolism, and is one of my fav episodes.
At first, we had Dean fighting against a huge green dinosaur, practically a monster in green. Just like the Squirrel/Godzilla in one t-shirt we'll see in episode 14x04, is representing DEAN, his inner photography of himself. He sees himself as a monster.
Everytime we see SCOOBY-DOO in Supernatural, it's related to Dean's innocence and purity. Those qualities on him will be the key to release him from his emotional prison in season 14.
Visual Narrative in Dean's cave
Let's talk about the Dean's cave. When Dean says to Sam "Be like Elsa, let it be," he's referring here to the most deepest feelings and fears. Elsa released what she had tried to repress her entire life, her powers. And once she accepted what she really was, she was really free.
This will happen to Dean too, the process had just started. Now that he got Cas back, and now that deep inside he had accepted he can't live without the angel, he will slowly be able to embrace his bisexuality, to accept who he really is. The climax of this metamorphosis it's gonna be describer through the whole season 14. It's the birth of Healing!Dean.
Dean's cave represents that. First of all I want you to know that the Dean's cave had been made to watch movies with Castiel. It's subtextually displayed by the location of the two couches and the color of the lights in front of them: RED AND BLUE. Those are Dean and Castiel's places. That place had been built to share time with his angel.
Gif credit @out-in-the-open
Fred and Daphne were Dean's bisexuality representation.
Mostly than Dean having a crush over the two characters (openly with Daphne and repressed over Fred) both characters were representing Dean's bisexuality (just like Pamela and himself in Rocky's bar and his friend and the waitress in 15x07).
When they had to team up (just like in 14x04) we had Sam and Vilma represented the insight, the intelligence. (Just like Sam and Sam). Castiel pairing up with Yaggy and Scooby, the innocence and the talking dog, the most precious thing for Dean. (Remember Dean would take a bullet for that dog, that's why Cas was compared several times in season 12 with a dog, and that's why Dean follows him anywhere to keep him safe after suffering his lost).
Gif set credit @gentleman-demon
Finally, the bisexual team Dean with Fred and Daphne. In one opportunity Dean asks Daphne what does she sees in a man. Without mentioning she loves ascots, what this symbolically represents is Dean asking to his female side what she really likes to see in man. And we have Fred related to blue color, as a switch mirror with Castiel. Also because Daphne describes the perfect man as STRONG AND HONEST. Which are characteristics related to Castiel.
Castiel's entrance a la 4x01 and the dinosaur in love
Castiel enters in the mansion the same way he did in 4x01, stormy, mysteriously, and bright.
Immediately after his entrance, we had this weird dialogue...
DEAN: It's a book we're writing. Yeah, about...killer stuffed dinosaurs. It's called...
CASTIEL: "The Killer Stuffed Dinosaur in Love."
FRED: Huh. Great title.
SCOOBY: Yeah. Great title.
"It's a book we are writing " this is very meaningful Because, the book they're writing despite the one Chuck is writing, is Team Free Will, but... We are talking about DESTIEL. Dean and Cas are writing their own story... Why? Because when they mention the title of that book is... The KILLER (Do you remember REGARDING DEAN? another brief appearence of Scooby Doo and Dean's innocence? In which Rowena told him he was a killer? So yes, Dean sees himself as a killer, that's why the image of a monster, a green DINOSAUR, and huge Godzilla Squirrel... But this KILLER GREEN DINOSAUR has a very important characteristic HE IS IN LOVE. DEAN IS IN LOVE, as he confessed in 14x12.
Do I have to explain how writers connect d Castiel's first entrance in 4x01 with this book they're writing as they go? The book is named DESTIEL.
Jealous!Castiel and the little scared ghost boy
I loved the scene in which Daphne freshly confesses Dean grabbed the ghost by the thigh and immediately Cas shows his jealousy over that.
Gif set credit @tearsofgrace
But There's another almost at the end of the episode in which Dean mentions his affair with the Cartwright Twins and Cas asks about that, and Dean's face is priceless. Because if CAS would just represent a friend to him, he were absolutely explaining to him what happened with those twins, but he didn't. Why? Because Castiel is not just a friend. Castiel is Dean's love interest. So... Better not to talk about it.
Gif set credit @sssssssim
But let's jump over the symbolism of the trapped child ghost.
BOY: I'm not. I never wanted to hurt anyone. But the bad man, he makes me.
CASTIEL: The bad man?
BOY: His name is Jay.
I want to point here we are inside of Dean's head as you've noticed so far, so... Velma is Dean's intelligence and reason, and is linked with Sam (just like in episode 14x04 in which we had the scooby-doo box opening the locked door). Yaggy and Scooby are the innocence and love, part of Dean and linked to Castiel. And Daphne and Fred are Dean's bisexuality. But There's another huge character inside of him THE MONSTER. The monster, the one he has to defeat, is represented by JOHN WINCHESTER'S TOXIC HERITAGE AND AUMICHAEL, they're part of his toxicity, his rage, his violence. The little ghost here is all the good inside of Dean, his childhood, his innocence, but the bad man who obligates him to kill, it's his inner monster. So this is a war between TOXIC!DEAN and HEALING!DEAN as we will see in season 14.
BOY: When I died, my soul was tied to a pocketknife. My dad gave it to me. It meant everything. When Jay found me, he used me to...Sometimes, I get so angry I break things, hurt people.
John Winchester's toxic heritage implies the GUILT. So, Dean's soul is tied to that GUILT. Jay represents AUMichael here, when AUMichael finds this tool, the guilt, he uses it against Dean to control him. The boy says he gets angry, he breaks things and hurts people. He's describing perfectly Dean's toxicity. His violence. We will see it in this season but also, at the end of season 14.
To Conclude:
In episode 13x15 we had a very OOC bad episode, but with a few clues for foreshadows.
Episode 13x16 was a travel through Dean's innocence, inner thoughts and repressed feelings. It's a preamble to Healing!Dean season and how Dean will be able to break free from his emotional prison, defeating his inner monster.
Hope you liked this meta, see you in the next one!

Do you think it's okay to completely separate artist from creation? Because I just found out a comic artist I really like is like against Transgender and wants to ignore race and all the bad stuff going on. I really like their work but their beliefs bother me. I dont know if I should continue to enjoy what I use to and separate artist from work, or to just unfollow. I'm not the type of person to try and force my views into others so I'm not gonna be harassing them to try and change their opinion
It depends on how you define ‘separate artist from creation’. Because there’s really two ways to do that. For the sake of this thought exercise let’s all imagine:
You have content you enjoy. You find out the author of that content is a less than stellar person. Maybe they support harmful causes, maybe they’re bigot and refuse basic respect to people different from them, maybe worldviews harm you and others that you love, etc.
Do you:
A) Pretend the author doesn’t exist but continue to consume the content while clapping your hands over your ears and going ‘LALALALALA’ and doing your best to forget who wrote it? Pretend Hatsune Miku wrote it instead? Separate the wonderful characters you’ve come to know and love, tear them from the hands of the author and say ‘they’re mine now, you never had them! I’ve assigned my own, healthier headcanons!’
OR
B) Acknowledge that their harmful worldviews will affect their content, regardless how indirectly... and consume the content anyway, but do your best not to support their views (i.e not following their main account, holding them responsible and not letting them get away with leaning on harmful/racist/outdated stereotypes)?
...
Here’s the thing though - if you picked B, you are NOT separating author from art. You are actively acknowledging that the author IS affecting their art - and aiming to minimize the harm caused through that content. You are already taking steps to protect others, and that does make a difference. That shows that you already know the answer to your own question.
We realistically cannot separate art from artist. Not fully. Nor, I would argue, should we attempt to do so!
In this media-saturated world, we all consume a LOT of content. Realistically, we cannot filter and check ALL of it - or all of its creators - to be 100% sure that we are only following/consuming only the most un-problematic of all people. It’s just not feasible and holding yourself to that standard is unrealistic.
But what we CAN all do is be critical. We can look at something that a transphobic person wrote and ask ‘does this content present harmful stereotypes?’ and we can ask ‘does this storyline have racist tropes?’ and etc.
I’m going to be frank - I consume what could considered ‘problematic’ content. Biggest example is probably Brooklyn 99. The thing is - it’s copaganda! And throughout the show, there are very clear, ill-disguised attempts to gloss over abuse to police power by using quirky lovable characters that are constantly breaking the law but end up as the good guys at the end of each episode! And this isn’t even the point of the show - it’s treated as a non-issue. At the beginning of season 5 they delve into prison system power abuse - but only really make it an issue for the ‘innocent good-guy cop Jake’. The next few episodes after the fact it shows - BLATANTLY - Jake and Holt screaming at and lying to a (Black!) suspect to get a confession out of him. It’s treated as the right thing to do! A quirky idea that good-guy Jake had!
Wanna get psychological whiplash? Watch When They See Us on Netflix and then watch Jake yelling at his suspect in the interrogation room. Ask yourself why those two are different, or why they are interpreted differently. Then ask why they aren’t, and shouldn’t be.
And when I watch Brooklyn 99 I have two options:
I can cover my ears and sing LALALA IT’S JUST A SHOW, I’M JUST HAVING FUN! or I can be critical and practice calling out the blatantly police-propoganda-y tropes when they come on-screen and evaluate the good vs. the bad and ask myself every once in a while ‘is the Good here outweighed by the Bad? Is there content here that I couldn’t get elsewhere?’
In the end, no one can stop you from consuming content. If you want to keep watching/reading - you will find a way. But ignoring the issues, turning away and trying to imagine away the bad parts... will ALWAYS leave you with less than the full picture. It’s far more harmful to pretend that everything is fine for the sake of making yourself feel comfortable than it is to just face it head-on and admit that the author will inevitably leave a part of their beliefs in their art.
When people read my stories - even something as removed as WD!Steven - they will inevitably be coming in contact with MY political views, even if they’re not obvious. And honestly, I wouldn’t want people to separate my art from myself.
I want to make it clear - in many cases, unfollowing/blocking is absolutely the best thing to do. I’ve done that for many creators that I realized were... not good people. But that sort of thing is for you to decide, and so I won’t just tell you ‘go unfollow them!’. It’s way more important that you make this judgement not because of peer pressure - but because you’ve thought about it and made the decision that makes the most sense for YOU.
