that is to say, Herbert anticipated that Dan would leave him and saw that he loved Megan. So his reaction was to steal Megan's actual physical HEART, and give it to Dan as an offering to force him to stay.

He vaguely explained that he was about to baby trap him with it, to which Dan agreed because of his blind love for Meg, and his blind love for Herbert, and because, in the words of Bruce Abbot, "no one will ever get rich overestimating Dan's bad taste."

(This could maybe be because the world of Reanimator uses weird sci-fi logic where the heart contains the person's personality or life or whatever, and it'd actually bring Meg back (even though these movies seemed pretty brain-focused thus far), in which case, pretty good manipulator leverage! nice job, Herbie! Otherwise, its either because Herbert knew Dan would like this weird creepy gesture of love, or because Herbert thought this weird creepy gesture of love was a normal and good idea, and coincidentally Dan was that same wavelength of out-of-touch freak as Herbert, because they're just meant for each other or something. What I'm trying to say is that shit was crazy. Herbert could have done a much more cut and dry baby trap. He could have reanimated some random kid, forcing Dan to stick around and protect it. That would have been its own special kind of fucked up and is probably a good fanfic prompt. But noooo, Herbert had to do the most psychosexual, convoluted, batshit, traumatizing, bloody, gory, and frankly unnecessary declaration of love that could be achieved by one little scientist with nothing to his name but a little green potion and every mental illness. I for one think it was a fantastic idea.

A massive cake, silly and messy (but full of love) homemade party decorations, and party hats that nobody really wants to wear.

It feels like Christmas Day with the amount of presents you received from her alone, not mention the rest of the hotel staff

She really wants it be perfect for you, especially considering how special you are to her, so if there are a few bumps along the way, it can get to her, just give your favorite princess some reassurance and a “thank you” and she’ll be fine (:

Vaggie

Vaggie would do something on the larger scale, but she also doesn’t want to bombard you, so she settles for more of a happy medium.

She’ll decorate your room in the hotel while your out, nothing to big, but it’s enough to stand out. Maybe a banner and balloons of your favorite colors? And a smaller sized cake that you could easily eat by yourself

Gift wise, she may get you a few small things, she’s not good with gifts unless she knows you extremely well, so depending on how far you are in your friendship they might not be the most mind blowing gifts, but you still like them!

Angel Dust

His first instinct is grab you and go out and party and get higher than the moon, but he knows that’s not everyone’s thing, so he goes to you for a decision

Anything you want, activities, gifts, whatever — Whatever you want for the day, whatever you wanna do or buy, he’s got it covered

Angel, like Vaggie, may not always be the best at gifts, as he doesn’t always think of it in time, due to his tight schedule, but he will try to get a half-day off of work to spend the day with you!

Definitely the type of person to shove the birthday cake in your face (as long as he knows you won’t take it the wrong way)

Alastor

Alastor doesn’t want to show that he cares too much, incase of showing signs of weakness, however he does do a little something for the special day

He isn’t too good with personalized gifts, but he does know how to be a gentleman

You’ll just happen to wake up on the day of your birthday and see a small box on your nightstand, which holds a pendant inside

feel like im having a DA2 experience again where I really liked it and was in my little "this is good" cocoon where i played it many times only to emerge from underground and find everyone else hated it (i mean ive found the other da2 cicadas since but at the time it got really slammed). i've been really enjoying DA:TV so far ( lol tho obvs have notes) here's an early thoughts review, may be a bit spoilery, def rambley, trying to stay vague on stuff still (i think i'm about half way maybe? im trying to not look things up and doing it blind on my first run through. it's hard to tell b/c i went hard on all the side quests and am now way over level for the msq)

the combat system is a little jarring at first and i still miss at least being able to switch to and play as party members if your character dies (instead of the god of war style of full wipe), but i've gotten used to it (it's more annoying for boss fights, regular combat it's very zippy and fun). the targeting at least on controller is kind of annoying sometimes- i'll think i'm pointing at one enemy only to have rook turn and fire at nothing or companions to hit an add instead of a boss. I wish we at least had more control over how it queued who it was hitting. some of the arenas are obnoxious design wise - there's bosses that teleport to you and they give you like a tiny little box to dodge around, not the most fun. i do like that you can punch way above of your weight class sometimes which reminds me of DAO a little bit (like how you'd just wander into a fight or hit a gong and be like oh no, those enemies have skulls over their heads, oh well YOLO). sometimes it doesn't work out but when it does it's very satisfying. It's nice to be able to conquer something mechanically even underleveled (smol fromsoft vibes) Having always been a big fan of the strange composition parties (i.e not just war/rogue/mage), i like that this is now even more viable (and not just me being cheeky "we're having a leather party!" of all squishy rogues). but like the main thing about bioware games is the companions/interpersonal shit and i'm enjoying the heck out of that .i only do main quests to get more side quests from companions (or more side quests in general so we can troll around for more banter). i like petting griffons (and cats and dogs) and playing games with manfred*. I wish the gift system was more interesting like DAO or DA2- i was so excited to see it again and then it was a little disappointing to have them barely react when you get them stuff.

my current fave party are rook and the poison boys (emmerich and lucanis) since they're a rogue too and we just stack necrosis, bleeds and other elemental effects on things till they disintegrate. i like the lighthouse, it feels much cozier than skyhold. I love that you can just wander up to companions having convos and awkwardly eavesdrop. I do miss the little interactions/quests you could get with cole esp*** i think the animations are a little lack lustery? Idk there's something with the face model morphs that sometimes feels weird but the voice acting is strong enough that I don't notice too much. i do miss some of the more bioware-y cheeky things like item descriptions or weird notes near random silly environmental tableaus (there's a little but i just want to read all the notes! there's some in the grey warden areas where i was just like WAIT I HAVE QUESTIONS but there was no plaque about them T.T). where are the stacks of cheese (i do appreciate the fereldens love cheese jokes tho and harding getting so excited when someone says something nice about ferelden) i was esp bummed that there were no random things to read in the black emporium and it's all codex entries instead (that's my favorite tiny bit in DA2 where there's junk you can click on and xenon says weird shit to you). i also wish more had been done with accents of npcs- like i wish all the antivans had similar accents or your crow rook had an antivan accent, stuff like that (having a lot of "ferelden" generic british accents everywhere is disappointing. takes you out of the immersion a lot) My biggest gripe is probably the pacing - I wish it had more horror/mystery pacing like dao and da2 had- the reason we're all scarred by the brood mother is b/c the build up to that was so so creepy (also the necromancer bit w/hawke's mum in DA2). They gave us time to be unnerved or afraid and I do feel the evanuris reveals have been a little rushed so you can't really feel that worried about them (some of the side quests get close to this but still not quite there**). I wish they'd let them breathe a bit more instead of rushing from one giant world changing event to the next. Some of the reveals have been not so great- like lore that the fandom has poured over for 15ish years explained in one line?? i wish there'd been more build up of rook as a character too, maybe even a time skip from a prologue to finding solas kind of thing. the first trailer made it seem like that's what was going to happen but then it in media res'd us in a strange way. the first 10 hours of the game are probably the weakest imho, it took it a bit to get rolling and feel more natural. I appreciate that the first major decision doesn't really let you scum save for it (bit of a jump scare for me lol).

I also don't really need this much varric anymore, i kinda wish we had a different narrator if we have to have one. He feels really awkward to just have there and not doing anything(and not just kill off or have something happen to him? he got stabbed by the dagger and harding only touched it is what i'm saying). at least let him get better pjs and slippers or something Idk it does feel like bits of previous iterations they were working on are still there and they don't completely serve the plot well. And ofc there's the decisions not meaningfully carrying over thing- which is a huge bummer. But in reality they've never been good at that- the characters from previous games we see in new games don't really carry through their plots/arcs that much (it's more like cameos or they're a new person now) and the world states are usually effectively the same just with aesthetic faction swaps. I was sort of hoping we'd get some solavellan SOMETHING but it doesn't look like we will get much at all past the stuff in minrathous. i feel like if they were going to only include the one choice it really should have had more impact on the story. (i am also still a clown and want to talk to solas constantly still even tho he has no reason to talk to my rook at all, i do not care, i love a sad woof. i wish we could just casually visit him in the fade. i wish we could switch to lavellan and visit him in the fade, idk something. need more gareth david-lloyd pls) the interpersonal character decisions have been the only ones that mattered much and then only within the constrains of their own games- the bigger world changing stuff is usually the illusion of choice. It would have been nice if they let us have one protagonist carry through but i can also see why they liked changing it up and felt stuck in that format. tl;dr: i'm really like it for what it is but it's def got flaws. Parts of it feel super polished while other bits do not- i think knowing how game dev works that they had to make decisions on what was going to get prioritized and some of it works while others not so much. I wish the pacing was better for sure but i love the characters/companions which is generally what bioware is best at. sad it won't get meaningful dlc, i don't really care about mass effect 5 tbqh. So far I like it better than inquisition for the most part- it feels like a bigger/more polished DA2 in a lot of ways if that makes any sense (with similar budget/pacing issues, but the environments are more fun). as i mentioned in my other post, i really appreciated the trans/non binary inclusion into the story/cc tho. like that can't be discounted, even if the rest of the game has issues. (all the holes in the narrative make me want to do fan art and fan fiction tho so idk, maybe that's an okay thing. maybe dragon age is best at inspiring us to sandbox around in it)

*side note, i am surprised at how much i like emmerich like holy shit what a lovely soft nerd of a man! going to have to play through a few times and romance him and also bellara for sure (romancing lucanis this time round) i find myself shipping my companions with each other more than i normally do too. I just want them to be happy! I wish they'd let us have polyamory, like i could see little polycules in this squad so easily. i need to give bellara hugs and lucanis head pats. taash deserves head pats too, but my rook will need a ladder.

**i am going to cry if they do with the griffons what i think they're doing with the griffons. like straight up, feeling like it was a cursed wish to have them now T.T *** do we think the caretaker is cole? the character design makes me wonder (like the hat/silhouette is very cole like but maybe not. maybe i just want it to be cole lol) there's def characters i want to see show up that aren't going to and then bioware is like "what about this fan favorite??" and i'm like "eh".

solomon + general romantic hcs

✎a/n: im actually so obsessed w solomon i had to cut myself off writing these bc they became noticeably longer than the ones ive done for everyone else so far

Solomon is the world’s biggest tease. He’s also incredibly observant and too smart for his own good, which means he knows your every weakness and loves to use them against you. It’s just so fun for him to see you get so pouty and beg him to quit, and he can’t help but make up arbitrary rules for his own satisfaction, such as swearing up and down the only way he will stop is with a kiss

He never gives you what you want right away; he’s always drawing things out for longer than they need to be, withholding touch or affection and offering only tiny little slivers in the meanwhile only to bask in how much you beg for him, upset he won’t give himself to you. He’s such a sadist, honestly

Teasing aside, Solomon is one hell of a reliable man. He has his mysterious ways which, as close as you become with him will always remain, and somehow always knows when you need him the most. He’s always managing to turn up at the second that he’s needed most knowing just what to do, thanks to his quick thinking. Even if he has prior commitments or has his hands full, you can always expect him to take some weight off your shoulders

As your only other fellow human in the devildom, Solomon worries about you a lot. You’re a quick learner and have more than enough pacts with some powerful demons to keep you safe, but he can’t help but think about your safety every moment he isn’t with you. Expect lots of gifts from him in the form of protective charms and items

Solomon is slightly similar to Lucifer in the role that he takes in your relationship; while he’ll always bend over backwards for you, he leans toward the assertive side. The way he sees it, it’s his job to keep you safe, and being around as long as he has he’s much more experienced than you, not to mention a powerful sorcerer. He’ll tell you what to do, but in the form of advice and genuine worry, while leading you by a firm but loving hold on your waist

Dates back in the human world are a must; catching Solomon up on current events and the past few decades is something the two of you enjoy thoroughly. There’s always something new to share, but it’s familiar enough that you still bond over your shared human experience. Back in the human world, you run about excitedly, pointing out all of your favorite things and rambling on about all that he’s missed, and while he doesn’t exactly retain every detail he’ll always the way you smiled so happily

When Solomon kisses you he takes his time. He’s a bit of a romantic, his surprisingly soft hand supporting your chin with tender care, keeping you close to him and guiding you just where he needs you, his other secured around your neck. There’s hardly any distance between you, and you have even less time to breathe before diving back in. Kissing Solomon is overwhelming in every sense of the word, all of your senses tingling with excitement and the desire for more. You can never be close enough to him to be fully satisfied and it’s frustrating, but it brings a spark to your relationship

He probably has really cold hands. Like, REALLY cold hands. He’s always using them to spook or startle you, sneaking up from behind and clasping his ice cold palms against your cheeks and watching you squeal. He has cold feet, too, and you have to beg him to wear socks after he touches you with them in the dead of night and it stirs you awake

If anyone wants you to wear their clothes, it’s Solomon. I mean, out of everyone he probably has the most normal wardrobe anyways! He’ll even buy some more average human clothes just to see you wear them, never deliberately asking but always trying to tempt you by dousing them in his scent and leaving them out in the open. He feels almost prideful when you’re lounging about in his t-shirts, eager for people to see you clad in his attire and know you’re his

You’re probably the only person that can convince him he is not the gourmet chef that he thinks he is, and that’s simply because he feels so warm and fuzzy inside when you spend late nights in the kitchen together, teaching him to cook your favorite dishes

Often, these late night cooking lessons end up being dance lessons. He takes his hands in yours and smiles softly for you, asking you without words for a dance to the distant song from your playlist. Solomon has two left feet though, and is constantly stepping on your toes and losing his balance. It’s one of the only times that you see the experienced sorcerer lose his composure, and surely a core memory of your relationship

a/n: i was never a kita girlie but im watering my neighbors plants and thinking...

to be kita's little wife is to live the most relaxing life ever. I think kita is a little more traditional in the sense that he never wants you lift a finger. that's what he's for. years of labor in his family's rice fields have toned his body, the muscles strong and taught under skin that's warmed from so much time spent under the hot sun. your wedding ring is an heirloom, given to him by his grandmother the first time he brought you to visit her. at first, it was difficult to adjust to life away from the city-- the quiet sometimes more deafening than the constant whir of society. you slowly came to appreciate the change in pace. you've had more time to think, to develop yourself without the constant influence of others and to love who you have become. kita is always there with firm reassurance if the latter becomes clouded by any errant thoughts.

you start each day by waking up when your body deems that it has had enough sleep. kita's already gone-- he always is by this time. he's in the fields before the sun has crept past the horizon, prepping for the days work and doing preliminary tending. you stretch your body, easing your way through your morning routine without rush or worry. you slip on a flowy dress, a must for keeping cool in the hot summer, before heading to the kitchen. you pour yourself a cup of the tea kita left for you and grab a piece of bread to munch on while you walk to the garden. the watering can is a familiar weight in your hands as you pick it up, some of the cool droplets splashing against your legs. it’s a refreshing sensation when the sun beats down as it does now, the clouds sparse. you pick a flower for your hair, matching it to your outfit. once done watering the plants, you grab a woven basket, a wedding gift from one of the nice ladies from the village. you fill it with various vegetables and fruits, grabbing what is ripe and centering your lunch plans based on what nature has provided you with today.

the record player in your living room croons out an old jazz tune as you slice tomatoes. you hum along and there’s a sway in your hips as you add them to the pan. this is the sight that greets kita as he enters your shared home. his footsteps thud, strong and intentional. “hi darlin’” he greets, leaning in to kiss you. sweat drips above his brow, evidence of the work he’s done. “smells delicious.”

you both enjoy your meal at the table, chatting about your plans for the day and the places you want to stop this weekend on your biweekly trip to see osamu. kita is always steady with his supply, never late and never passing the task on to the delivery boys who take the rice to the other customers. this is a trip he cherishes, a chance to connect with his old teammate (teammates when atsumu finally stops by) and it has become a little tradition. osamu always makes you your favorite onigiri, warm and ready the moment you arrive, bellies empty after the long drive. you watch the sunset through the windows of his little shop, and take a walk with his wife before it darkens completely. “let’s leave the boys to themselves, I wanna have a little girl time with my favorite friend” she says, ushering you out. it’s a bit unexpected, you four usually spend the whole time together catching up.

you suspect she brought you out to discuss kita’s birthday plans. he’s turning thirty and you had expressed to her that you wanted to do something special. that’s why you’re stunned when she starts off giddily with a “so, how far along are you? you’re absolutely glowing and it’s not the summer heat.”

you pause, taken aback. “what? I’m not pregnant, what do you mean?” you’re not. you’re definitely not… right?

“I’ve got an eye for this, and i’m never wrong so don’t bother trying to keep it a secret! this is so exciting!” she exclaims, but her smile falls when she sees the look of surprise on your face. “oh, did you not know?”

you can’t be pregnant. but wait, when was your last period? you were just late, right? kita had been talking about giving you a baby, had been desperate in his attempts recently, but it hadn’t worked that fast, had it? you had only stopped using condoms a little over a month ago! but as she looks over you, sure in her assessment that maybe she could be right. 

“are you sure?” you ask, tentative. you don’t want to get excited yet. you don’t want to start dreaming and making name lists and thinking about nursery colors or how amazing of a father kita would be. not yet.

“I’m positive. your skin seems lit from the inside out. I’ve always been able to tell faster than most, and I have never been wrong in my guesses. we can get a test on the way back. I can be there while you take it. imagine the surprise on their faces. osamu’s gonna be mad he didn’t knock me up first.” she giggles

a smile forms on your face at the thought. a palm against your belly, you let yourself truly fall into believing the dream of creating a little family with kita. of bringing into the world the fruit of your love, of raising a child in your small home, small feet padding across the wood. you grasp her hand and pick up the pace eager to get to the store and grab the tests.

kita nearly faints when he hears the news.

könig loves christmas. perhaps it's his central european upbringing, but he finds the spirit really comforting and reminisces over all the traditions from his childhood. he's not particularly into the 'white christmas' thing, he much prefers a christmas adorned with a little sense of spooky and will relate aaaalllllll the krampus myths to you by the light of the fire. just to see if he's able to scare you because he's mean

his favourite part of christmas is the food. the warm, home-cooked meals. the spices and seasonings that have you feeling toasty and calm well after the embers die out. he is truly impressed when you make a batch of pfeffernüse, and he surprises you with a bottle of his! own! mulled! wine!

he hands it over looking so proud of himself. a big cheesy grin on his face as he's already grabbing two glasses, so he can get your reaction to a taste test.

and he of course hits the nail on the head. it's delicious. he should be proud of himself!!

as for gift-giving, he struggles a bit when getting you gifts. as per usual, christmas always sneaks up on him far too quickly, and all of a sudden there are five days till he's supposed to give you something and he hasn't thought about it, much less started shopping.

but, he pulls it off!! success!! you watch as the space under the tree slowly gets filled over the course of the week. his gifts for you finally joining your gifts for him.

he pampers you, naturally. how could he not? generally steers to all the things that are going to make you feel pretty or expensive, because he wants you to feel like you look good, too.

buys you expensive-smelling perfume he swears you mentioned in march, skin-care you might have brought up in may, a book or two he thinks you told him about in july, a pair of shoes you raved about in september, a dress he saw in november that reminded him of you, and more.

he really does stun you with how much he remembers, and the fact that he did almost matters more to you than the gifts themselves. he puts so much thought into what he gifts you, and then has the audacity to ask you if it's enough. if you like them.

you pounce on him, knocking his stupid little christmas hat off and sending him backwards, dragging you with him. you giggle and cover him in kisses, mumbling in between them how wonderful he did. that you love it. he lights up, squeezing you tighter.

he stops you for a moment, saying he has one more thing.

pulls out a little box from his pocket, and drops it into your hand. watches with delight as you pop the lid and see a customised necklace, with a little pendant that says "K." on it. you get a bit teary, and ask him why he got this in particular for you.

he tells you it's so nobody mistakes that you belong to him.

Poker, i hardly know her

I remember really liking this ep, like it used to be one of my faves for S1 and I don’t know why now haha i mean its a fine episode. We get some solid scenes with Shawn and Henry. Theres a good chance it was just because of the ending lol idk

Henry walks into Shawns office and immediately starts digging into him. You can see Shawn visibly deflate; it’s kind of heartbreaking. But Henry’s love language is criticism. He offers improvements and chides because thats his way of helping, and showing interest. Im not saying thats good, just that the fact he digs at Shawn the most is likely because he cares the most about him. I’ll get into it more as we learn about their relationship and how henry develops in the series.

I do find it interesting that Shawn keeps relating to these fuck up sons and feels a level of sympathy for the fathers that have to deal with them. A very clear projection of his feelings with his own father. Which is just sad because what we’ve seen so far, Shawn hasn’t done anything to warrant being such a huge disappointment to normal people. But Henry isn’t normal. He raised Shawn to be a cop like him (narcissism) but because Shawn didn’t become one he’s somehow wasted his life. But instead of Shawn projecting any kind of bitterness to these fathers (this one, and the pilot ep one) we see he’s understanding, almost apologetic. Shawn holds a level of guilt that he couldn’t be what his dad wanted him to be. His bitterness is inward, still hoping to make his dad proud, yet feeling the weariness of years of resentment. In the words of Mirabel, “i will never be enough for you.”

Mmk so vick has known lassie for at least 3 years if she was there for the secret santa debacle of 2005. Im going to figure out her history. Ive made it my mission.

not to go on another crossover brainrot. but consider. dr stone x jujutsu kaisen crossover, w the base premise of ryuusui and kento being cousins.

ikik nanami is a very common surname. but they also both have blond hair, brown(-ish) eyes, and pale skin. Nanami (Kento; sorry im more used to calling him Nanami 😭) also thinks a lot about money once he quits being a sorcerer. Which is obvs meant to talk about real world issues, but also would be in line with Nanami upbringing.

ok this got way longer than i thought, so read more for a major yap session.

Kento is also a really disciplined guy, which fits into the ideals of what the Nanami household wanted Ryuusui to be. Makes him fit perfectly into the Dr Stone world. (also we know ryuusui canonically has a bunch of cousins/siblings he doesn't talk about at all so there's precedent for the family connection too)

On the flipside, Ryuusui has learnt, through real world experience, that he can get anything he wants with enough hard work and money to pave the way. Except jujutsu sorcery. He'll never be capable of that, no matter how much he wants it.

In my mind, the two universes first intersect when Ryuusui sneaks into Jujutsu Tech to see Kento, some time in the guy's second year. Since both universes use the real world calendar, its easy to pinpoint Ryuusui as being eight years younger than Kento.

Nanami Conglomerate isn't a Jujutsu clan. They really are just a regular rich-ass family company, who had a sorcerer randomly. There's some discussion about that. A lot of "damn, nanami's loaded??? why tf can't he get a better hairstylist then" type of shenaniganry.

[Side plot: At that point, Ryuusui isn't the heir at all. (I think if you refuse to let your child into family photographs out of shame, then you are not leaving a trillion-yen company to him) so there's going to be some politicking about on Francois' end to make him heir, with the two cutting a deal for Francois to be his main assistant in everything if they get it done.]

Kento and Ryuusui's relationship is strained, bc Kento has been raised to keep his distance from the black sheep of the family - even tho all Ryuusui has done so far is mess around with the stock market a little bit, so Kento doesn't really get it and talks to him anyway sometimes.

To Ryuusui, however, Kento is like his third-favorite person. (First is Sai, second is Francois) bc his 7-3 ratio technique is very useful for model building and this boy has a talent for sniffing out gifts he can exploit.

So anyway, Sai is off being tutored in economics, moving up several grade levels above his age, and Ryuusui was stuck at the Naval Academy, so he sneaks out to get to Kento, who does not speak about his school and is understandably confused when Ryuusui sneaks in and is discovered by the students.

Gojo in particular is entertained bc at that age he hasn't interacted with many young children before, and he is considering adopting the Fushiguro kid, so he kinda wants to see what he's getting himself into.

Ryuusui is having the time of his life. Everyone treats him so nice! They listen to his stories about his regular life. And then have to take Nanami to the side and break it to him that the entire family was kind of purposefully neglecting these two kids. Which makes him rethink some things about his life and the structures he upholds.

Ryuusui really wants to be a sorcerer. But he can't. So of course he finds an S-tier scientist who may or may not be called Ishigami Senku to science out a solution for him.

Francois - even though I love them with my heart and soul - will also be non-sorcerer here. But armed with cursed tools to defend Ryuusui in case something goes bad on his adventures.

And on top of all that, in the horizon, there looms a Special Grade curse, almost primordial in its age and strength, capable of affecting the entire world in one fell swoop. The Medusa.
