GRAND BAZAAR IS BAAAACK!! I'm a lifelong Harvest Moon/SoS player and Grand Bazaar means so much to me. All these drawings are from the late 2010s when the game was my greatest source of joy, I did three play-throughs in a row, I couldn't get enough of its cozy world. I don't have the new game yet but I am SO excited it's getting great reviews! I can't wait to draw the new characters!! I admit I'm a little overwhelmed because for a long time it felt like I was one of like five people who loved this game, and seeing everyone talking about it is exciting yet scary for some reason haha.

this one was really funny. "Kobayashi-senpai wa Onnanoko de Shitai"

He says he doesn't want to be a girl, but I think he may be at least partially in denial. However, don't go into this manga expecting it to actually delve into gender or transexuality. It's very surface level and light. It's like 4 or 6 chapters, I think? Kobayashi Fumihiro is a bartender who gets hypnotized while drunk into believing he is a girl. It doesn't seem to work at first, but the next day, he wakes up and finds that he (appears to be) a girl. In truth, it's all in his head. He goes out and starts behaving how he believes that women act. He puts on his sister's clothes and goes to a salon. Then, he visits his coworker to ask what happened. Which was all very funny to me, because... wouldn't you do that first? He just seemed so ready to embrace being a woman. He then confesses its because he wants to experience how women feel during sex. Which is all very stupid because whatever he experiences will all be from his imagination. His coworker Takatsu knows he is hypnotized but plays along.

In the events that follow, Kobayashi goes in and out of the hypnosis, mostly to experience this imaginary sex as a woman. His feelings about women and being a woman seem to get blurry. He gets jealous of women around Takatsu, and sees his imaginary female self as super duper cute. Ultimately this is all in service to him and Takatsu getting together.

Whatever you may think of all that, seeing Kobayashi's behavior change was interesting to watch when thinking about the larger scale of what gender means.

It's hilarious how Sekiro handles FromSoft's staple concept of characters past their prime. It's so different from their other games.

Dark Souls: He vowed to conquer the abyss but was consumed by its corruption!

Bloodborne: Her prayers were meaningless as she transformed into a beast before our very eyes!

Elden Ring: A curse ate away at her until she ended up with more prosthetics than flesh!

Sekiro: He just turned 72!
