until i was 11 i didn't really care or know about anything on the internet except google images. like my biggest hobby was typing 'puppy' into the google image search bar and just scrolling through the pics of puppies. i did this with kittens also. i also did this with aragorn from lotr. i could scroll on google images forever. sometimes i'd find websites through google images, usually lotr fanclubs where people made graphics of pippin and merry being in love. unfortunately this all changed when i became best friends with a new kid in 6th grade. she showed me youtube. then i found myspace. then facebook. then tumblr. then twitter. fanfiction.net. I became the reason tumblr and f.net was banned in my school. youtube was the gateway drug, tho. wish i could still be searching 'puppies' and 'kittens' on google images . i grew up too fast </3

I think we as a society should bring back brotps. I think we should be weirder about characters being friends the same way people are weird about ships. Make those two characters who interacted once or twice besties. Make it difficult for them to get rid of each other even if they want to. Go nuts

I think people should be allowed to sleep in the same bed in a non sexual and non romantic way. I think cuddles can happen non sexually and non romantically. I think most acts of affection are non sexual and non romantic until you make it sexual or romantic (other than the obvious things like actual sex is sexual)

and guys my age stop by to tell me I remind them of their aunt, of their grandmother. This is a compliment and I take it as such. They confess to having tried crochet once, and I smile. They get back in line for the bathroom.

I'm knitting in the corner at a party and a queer woman sits on the floor next to me, arranges her skirt, and smiles up at me. (I try not to blush.) She asks me all the questions on her mind about my craft and I answer them, hands still moving. We swap yarn sources. She doesn't stay, but she knows where to find me.

They pretend to be checking in on me, which is sweet, but I can see the relief in their eyes the moment they stop performing for a house full of people. They sit down and tell me things and all the while they never take their eyes off my hands.

The party has wound down and I'm still knitting and the hosts, two guys in their twenties, thank me for "helping to curate the vibe." I had no idea that's what I was doing.
