Something fun I noticed about Astarion:
So since I am a huge fucking nerd about voice and accents, I noticed that Astarion has a very unique way of speaking. His pronunciation of certain words (ex: when he says "I am" it sounds like "I ahm") sound very Yorkshire-esque (which is also very interesting to me given the general vicinity of Yorkshire to Birmingham, where Astarion's actor, Neil Newbon, is from).
The inflection of Astarion's voice, though, sounds like your typical posh upper class fop. The combination of the two is very much a dichotomy, just like everything else about Astarion and I just think that's neat

Two very unfortunate (or hilarious) things about the german version of the murderbot diaries is that not only did they manage to translate the title All Systems Red as Systemausfall (eng. system failure) when one future installation turned out to be named System Collapse, they also managed to turn Rogue Protocol into Exit Szenario (no need to translate) right before Exit Strategy came out.
#I only read parts of the german translation but some digging through obscure scifi forums#seems to confirm what I stumbled across on wikipedia#also ART is translated as Fifo? Really?#it stands for fieses Forschungsschiff (eng. mean research ship)#I am glad I read the english version but damn I’m curious#apart from the fact that they could have translated Murderbot simply as Mörderbot but went with Killerbot#I don’t mind#comparing translations of stuff is my hobby and a main motivation to learn languages actually#overall I think the translation does an okay job- especially considering pronouns#they handled those well considering german is kind of a very gendered language in that regard#but Chefmodul? being this fluent in english kind of fucked me up because now i have this huge standard i set for myself when it comes to languages that im never gonna achieve again and it makes me feel disheartened and intimidated about start learning a new one
#like im probably never gonna achieve this level of fluency in any other language and thats ok#english is extremely over abundant onlyne theres whole WEBSITED (like this one) with millions of people where over 90% of users post#exclusively in english#all the most famous tv shows and songs and books and youtubers etc are in english#obviously other languages also have all those things but theyre not gonna be as easy to just come by#and youre not gonna be swimming in it. they arent gonna be the norm like english is#so yeah ill probably never gonna be as fluent in any other languages and i need to let that expectation go or ill just be scared forever and#never learn anything else#anyways. i kinda want to start officially learning spanish#as a brazilian thats kind of just whatever like its not hard or Different™ by any means but its gonna be more useful in my day to day life#than something like idk french of mandarin (which i would also like to learn)

Hey guys I've got a question, for curiosity's sake
In light of relatively current events, I'm curious about something, and I wanna put together a list of plot points in QSMP that have been seemingly dropped off for one reason or another. Part of me wants to theorize where some of them were going, but I'm really bad at thinking of things like this off the top of my head without doing a full rewatch, and god knows I don't have time for that. Another part of me wants to try and see if I can piece together what decisions might've led to those decisions, but I'm not sure I'd put that out there, since as I've said before, I'm not a fan of speculation without proof
For example, I'm talking about stuff like SOFIA, Code-Maxo, Luffy and the Eye Workers, etc. Things like that that were clearly meant to go somewhere, but something behind the scenes sort of dropped the ball, or scheduling things came out of nowhere to blindside the people involved
Again, this is mostly just for curiosity's sake. Thanks in advance!!

#keese draws#eternal gales#oc art#oc#fydd <3333333333#he is my bestie I need to get over my fear of drawing him so bad#grips bathroom sink I Will get better at drawing for fun and letting my art be messy and being proud of it anyways#but yeah look at him he is so cute and is so silly and he’s never gone through any traumatic events ever I would never#<- lying lier who lies and loves tormenting it’s ocs#but yeah he’s half alien half human but was raised entirely by his human mom#his alien mom is alas stuck in the cult the two met at rip#fydd doesn’t know abt any of that tho he just knows that he has another mom that his mom doesn’t like talking abt#he loves playing games of all kind but especially loves video games and will play them for hours#not that he has much else to do since he’s spent pretty much his entire life living by a garbage dump in the middle of nowhere#and he’s not allowed to go fuck around in the dump much since his mom doesn’t want him to be seen so he’s stuck at home most of the time#thankfully now he has an adopted sister to play with but he still has viddy game autism#his mom has done her best to introduce him to the various cultures she and his other mom came from but she struggles with it#she was quite disconnected from her own culture growing up and she knows limited amount about her girlfriends home planet#fydd doesn’t mind much rn cause he’s 12 but a certain other older fydd might care a smidge more#fydd does like 60% know both japanese and spanish tho so that’s pretty cool#his mom tried to do regular lessons when he was younger but wasn’t able to keep them up consistently and eventually gave up#mostly because she wasn’t anywhere near fluent in either herself and she had a hard time keeping up with how fast fydd would pick up on it#they still have some books from back then laying around that fydd will pick up and read aloud when he’s bored sometimes#he gets bored of speaking english all the time as his brain is built to pick apart different sounds and assign them linguistic meaning#so reading and speaking different languages is good enrichment for him#his mom doesn’t know this unfortunately otherwise she totally would have gotten him more stuff in different languages to chew on#he does get to learn the language the stalien cast speaks tho he has a lot of fun with that#he alas can’t properly experience most stalien video games though rip#I should rly get to redesigning his human mom again at some point she needs it sooo bad#I mean her whole squad needs it but she’s my favorite so like

I mean I guess…#this was brought on by me drawing the part in my huge self indulgent Eisei and Tamara comic where he talks about his favourite childhood#anime for a reeeally long time#she’s not actually from this era of anime more like 2018/19 iirc#well her reboot she was initially from the 70s so maybe I’ll get really into 70s anime for a second#and then I’ve been getting really into trying to play vns from the 80s and 90s like really influential ones but I don’t know how to actually#get the English versions so I just think about it for a realllly long time#I want to play tokimeki memorial… but apparently the snes version isn’t really like the full release#and I can’t figure out how to get the actual English patch to work#and also I was listening to magical cure love shot for a while and wow the Japanese comments were right this is heisei era as fuck#I actually don’t draw a lot or as much as I used to and I do feel sad about that so I’m very glad this got me to draw even if for two days#I want to master all the art styles that I saw when I was a wee baby in the internet#I’ve got anime down#and the flipnote style kind of I just need to get good at emo/scene art
