Ur posts about sad zero day things made me think of like.. ik cal burned a lot of his stuff in that fire but what if there was something of Cals one of his siblings has always wanted or admired him for (like I hc that he was rlly good at skateboarding and had a real cool board) and they take it with them whenever they eventually move out of the house :,| like if his parents kept whatever it was of cals for long enough
yes !!!!! this is brilliant
i bet he had some things that he kept, more than andre at least. i feel like he left some clothes, leaving behind the smell of him for a while and a memory of him forever. he definitely left them some stuff they thought he was cool for too !!! i hc him as a skater too and i imagine him teaching his little sister or brother to skate a little before zero day and leaving the board in their room the morning of the plan. he might have also left some music as well or some horror movies; his siblings probably listened to his music and wanted to watch the scary movies w andre and him but they were too young.
also … i imagine them looking through all of his things he left behind and trying to grow up like their cool older brother because they don’t really understand what he did at the time. people at school treat them horribly and make comments about cal all the time.
still, they’re so much different from cal even if they don’t want to be. while cal turned to violence, they turn to the love of their families and memories of the past
his little brother also definitely grew his hair out a little bit so he would resemble cal. when his little brother got braces, cal’s parents thought they were looking at their oldest boy again but realized that they would never see him anymore

sweater
ha-ri gives her a look over, eyes lingering on wu-jin’s sweater as her eyes flick from sun-hi to wu-jin and back. sun-hi flushes under the attention, at the probable assumptions being made. “you must be sun-hi.”
wait, how-? she glances questioningly at wu-jin, who glares at his sister. “uh, yeah. how’d you know?”
she shrugs lazily, leaning back. “just a guess.” she raises an eyebrow at her. “you’re wearing my brother’s sweater.”
dae-su snickers and sun-hi glowers at him. fuck, she can feel the heat sinking into her skin, moving to her ears. she plays with her hair, her thigh suddenly burning where it presses against wu-jin’s. “i was cold last night. he was being noble for once in his life.”
she smirks as he presses a hand to his chest, gasping. “for once? i’ve been noble before!”
“certainly not to me,” she quips, shooting a dry smile at him. he just grins, throwing an arm around her. she stiffens slightly at the act, but he doesn’t react, just says, “ah, sun-hi, you know i’m a noble man.”
she rolls her eyes. “men don’t walk into walls before science like you did last week.”
he blushes before cocking his head at her, grin widening. “you noticed?”
“you walked into a wall. in what world does no one notice?”
“i didn’t notice,” on-jo says, shooting a teasing grin her way.
“it’s a wall! how do you not notice that? blind as a bat, you must be,” she mutters, sticking her tongue out at on-jo, who just smiles back sweetly. “both of you, obviously.”
dae-su smirks at wu-jin. “ah, he’s not blind, just easily distracted.”
“fuck off, you asshole,” he mutters, kicking his leg. sun-hi can’t help but laugh as dae-su yelps, “hey!”, rubbing his shin. wu-jin grins at her, pride lighting up his face, and something in her stomach swoops.
“ah!” mi-jin cuts her eyes at wu-jin. “have you no respect, flirting in front of your sister like a barbarian?”
wu-jin stiffens against her as sun-hi scoffs, rolling her eyes. “ew, we’re not flirting.” ha-ri’s lips quirk into a disbelieving smile as she watches them. “we’re not!” she raises an eyebrow at wu-jin pointedly. “are you flirting?”
he tenses against her, cheeks filling with color at the question. “uh- of course not!” oh god. oh god oh god oh god he was!
she scoots away from him, cutting her eyes at him. “oh my god, you were! don’t flirt with me!”
“i wasn’t! why would i flirt with you?” she stiffens, eyes darkening at the words. wu-jin seems to regret the words immediately as he stumbles out, “that- that came out wrong-“
“oh, go fuck yourself,” she snaps, getting to her feet and stomping over to su-hyeong and collapsing beside him.
“sun-hi, i didn’t mean it that way-“
“if you say another word to me, i swear i’ll hit you in the face with a volleyball.”
“this is better than tv,” cheong-san whispers to on-jo and, credit to him, she probably wouldn’t have heard without her newly improved hearing, but she does and snaps in response, “hey, anyone want to hear about me and cheong-san’s first date?”
he stiffens, eyes widening as mi-jin raises an eyebrow. “you promised never to tell!”
“then don’t say stupid shit thinking i can’t hear it!”
“great, now she’ll be mean to everyone. thanks, wu-jin,” cheong-san mutters, throwing a reproachful look at wu-jin. sun-hi’s cheeks flush as she stares at her hands, clasping them together firmly and pushing her nails into her skin. its one thing to know her temper is a ticking time bomb, but it’s another for someone to acknowledge the damage she causes. especially someone she used to care about so deeply.
su-hyeon must notice because he puts an arm around her as wu-jin protests, “jesus, it’s not like i try to upset her!”
“guys, quit it already,” su-hyeong snaps, squeezing her shoulders gently. “we’ve got enough to worry about, let’s not fight too.”
“but she-!” wu-jin cuts off suddenly. she glances up, curious to see who kicked him, but instead their eyes meet, his eyebrows furrowed as he looks at her. she looks back down, trying to burn a hole into the crescent shaped marks in her skin. “fine.”

When I was young my dad offhandedly told me he thought people treated fish with so much casual cruelty because fish can’t scream.
The words branded themselves across my soul.
As an adult I think he may have been joking. He payed no especial attention to any indignities fish suffered in our household but I could never forget. I saw fish in a different light after that.
Fish kept in tiny bowls, breathing their own poisons, dying by inches. Fish kept in cold tanks, casually disposed of. Fish touted as being short lived when they could outlive the better loved family dog if only they could breathe. Fish casually won and discarded in cheap plastic bags, thrown away a week later.
How they would scream, if they could.

your personal space has never really truly been yours since you’ve started dating him. his muscled arm around your waist when you wake up in the morning, has become as familiar as the sunrise itself. it used to be cute, his warmth a cozy start to the day. but now, it's suffocating, like he can't bear to let you go, even in his sleep.
you shift carefully under his weight, not wanting to disturb his sleep. his breath keeping its steady rhythm against your neck, and you wonder if he dreams of you as you lean in to kiss his forehead gently. he smiles in his sleep, a small, contented expression that almost makes you want to slip right back into his arms.
the sheets rustle softly as you slip out from his grip. you slowly tiptoe across your shared bedroom, craving the simple pleasure of being able to enjoy making coffee alone. the smell of freshly ground beans fills the kitchen, and you lean against the counter, enjoying the quiet morning.
but as your coffee brews, a twinge of guilt creeps in and you can almost imagine when he'll wake up and wonder where you've gone. despite enjoying the well needed alone time, you knew the longing to be close to him will pull you back into his embrace sooner than you'd planned. almost as if in complete sync with your thoughts, you hear a mumble approaching the kitchen, and then his voice, thick with sleep, calling out softly,
"angel cmon back to bed with me, you know i don’t like sleeping without you"
