I think the other reason I don't really get into ships as portrayed by fandom culture is that it seems like the mindset is more like. "I want these characters to be in a Romantic Relationship(TM)" instead of "I want these characters' relationship to be romantic"

What I mean here is that, so often I see pairings enacting romance tropes to the point of heavily altering or downright replacing their original dynamic - as if the people behind it only understand romance as a series of checklists to tick off. Couples like to kiss and sleep in the same bed and flirt with each other, so it doesn't matter who the characters are, if they're a couple then naturally they'll do those things, right??

And that's where the whole thing starts to lose me, because I would assume that the appeal of shipping characters is, y'know... the characters? Rather than just, the idea of a couple? If I'm thinking about how it'd be cool for them to be in love, my first thought is always "so how would they show it," because just like everything else about a person, the answer is going to be different on a case-by-case basis.

Maybe the characters involved aren't really into kissing, but they like arranging date activities. Maybe they aren't committed to the structure of dating at all, and just want to be around each other whenever they can. And even if they are the types to like doing traditionally romantic things, that doesn't suddenly erase whatever else they had going on before they started adding that on top of it.

I'm not saying that the more typical romance tropes and activities are bad, just that they're applied kind of excessively, regardless of whether or not they actually work for the characters involved. I want to see my favorite characters having relationships that are true to who they are, not what the stock depiction of a couple says they should be.

You looked down at your cereal, unable to raise your eyes to the perfect couple in front of you. You could feel Wanda and Vision were stuck looking into each other’s eyes, you didn’t need to see it to believe it. You didn’t need to remember that just a couple weeks ago, she’d been looking at you the same way.

“Do you ever think about quitting?” Wanda asked as you looked up at her, resting your chin on your crossed arms over her chest. You hummed as her fingers brushed over the naked skin on your back. Sending goosebumps over your skin as the late August breeze came through the window.

“Not really,” You said, as she locked eyes with you. “Why do you ask?”

“I get that we’re supposed to be helping people and we do,” She said, taking one of her hands from under her own head and tucking a loose strand of your hair behind your ear. “But sometimes I just wish I could just go to a beach somewhere and relax.”

“Kind of like we’re doing now?” You asked with a giggle.

“We’re in the middle of a mission,” She answered, rolling her eyes, a light laughter erupting.

“But we are in a beach house,” You said, running your hands down the sides of her naked chest and starting to kiss a trail up her torso to her neck. “And up until a few minutes ago, I’d say you were pretty relaxed.”

She laughed as her hands found the back of your neck, pulling you up so your lips were just brushing against each other. You looked into her eyes, her pupils dilating just as yours did the same. Your lips collided as your bodies tangled further into the sheets, the moonlight entered through the curtains and you could taste the salt in the air, this was everything you needed.

That had been the best mission you had ever been on. No doubt. Unable to stomach this any longer, you got up from the table, your chair scrapping against the floor. Nobody seemed to notice how heartbroken the scene on front of you made you feel, but you had to tough it out. She is with Vision, you knew she wouldn’t leave him, you were dumb to think that she would.

The heavy silence in the quinjet hung over the two of you as you were making your way back to New York. Neither of you wanted to say anything. You didn’t want to face the fact whatever you had with Wanda over the past month was coming to an end, she didn’t want to face the fact she cheated on the love of her life.

You knew she was working up the courage to say something, but Wanda didn’t want this to end. She felt conflicted, panic rising inside her head the closer you got to New York. Even though you were on autopilot, your eyes stayed glued on the controls and the endless sky in front of you, anything to keep them off the gorgeous woman sitting next to you.

“Y/N…” Wanda started but trailed off, not knowing what to say.

“Don’t,” You mumbled, your voice barely above a whisper. “Let’s stay in this moment a little longer.”

“Why?” She asked.

“Because the second you say something,” You said, heart breaking at every word. “This will end, and you’ll go back to him.”

“Y/N,” She said, taking your hand from the controls and forcing your chair to swivel towards hers, her other hand cupping your cheek. You instinctively leaned into her touch. Wanda’s words were caught in her throat. She didn’t know what to say, her heart split. But her silence spoke louder than any words would. You knew you were right. You leaned away from her touch, turning back to face the sky.

“I can’t leave him,” She said averting her eyes form your face, but not before seeing your wince at her words. Your chest tightened.

“Why not?” You said, jaw clenching. “You can’t tell me this past month, hell this past year, hasn’t meant anything to you.”

“Y/N, I love him,” She whispered, her voice cracking. “I don’t feel that way-”

“Don’t tell me you don’t feel that way about me,” Your voice was cold, the anger behind them rising with every word you said. “I’m the one who comforts you when you’ve had a bad day, I’m the one who’s always on your side, the one you think about when you close your eyes at night, I know because you talk in your sleep. I’m the one whose name you scream when you can’t catch your breath. Don’t tell me you don’t feel that way about me.”

“I want you, Y/N,” She said, turning your chair to look at her once again. She was standing in front of you now, her hand cupping your cheek, forcing you to look up at her.

“But you love him,” You said. 

“But I want you,” She repeated. “Isn’t that enough?”

Her lips touched yours in a soft and tender kiss, her forehead resting against yours as she looked into your eyes. You would take anything you could get. Anything she could give you was enough.

“Wanting is enough,” You said, tilting your head to connect your lips once again. You felt her smile through your kiss, Wanda knew she loved you, she’s known she loved you from the first time you helped her fall asleep after a nightmare, but she also loved Vision. This only made things hurt more.

You placed you cereal bowl in the sink, when you turned back around, your eyes went straight to Wanda who was still preoccupied with Vision, her nose scrunching at something he said. You felt the hot anger erupt, rising from your chest to the tip of your ears. You clenched your jaw and started making your way down to the gym, deciding to burn off this anger.

“We have to stop doing this,” Wanda said, panting underneath you as you came up from under the blanket, to kiss her lips. 

“Why?” You said, looking into her eyes. Even in the dark room, you could see her pupils change size as she ran her thumb over your cheekbone. You turned you head into her hand, kissing her palm.

“I can’t keep doing this to him,” She said, her hand dropping from your face, as you propped your head up on your hand, laying on your side to face her. Her eyes were stuck on the ceiling.

“Then stop,” You said nonchalantly. Her eyes filled with tears and she blinked them away, turning her head to you. And you knew. “This is the last time isn’t it?”

Her hand made its way onto your cheek once more, but you flinched away, getting out of bed and putting your clothes back on. You heard her call you name quietly as you made you way down the dark hallway.

You loved her, she loved him.

You delivered blow after blow on the suspended boxing bag. The anger slowly dissipating as you started sweating. You kept punching the bag, feeling relief after each blow. The relief slowly turned into a heavy feeling pressing down on your chest, squeezing your lungs so tight your breath started coming out more ragged than necessary.

You didn’t realize you were crying until a sob shuddered through your body. Your punches kept getting stronger, and the pressure kept building as more tears streamed down your cheeks. Your body shook as you moved towards the bag, punching it faster and faster. 

You hugged the sandbag as it swung towards you, causing you to stumble backwards, sobs still raking through your body. Your legs gave out as you slumped onto the floor, head hanging low as more tears dropped onto the mat.

The way Wanda lovingly looked into Vision’s eyes frozen in your head. You closed your eyes and shook your head, trying to get the image out of your head. 

But the only thing slipping away were the distant memories of Wanda’s body against yours, tangled between blankets as the late summer breeze wafted in through the windows.

You loved her, and you couldn’t do anything about it. You felt like you lost something that was part of you.

So you sat there, your breathing returning to normal, as your cheeks started to dry. 

She wasn’t yours to lose.

She never was.

so, i've been rewatching teen wolf bc apparently netflix hates us europeans and it will be removed on may 31st and here are a few of my opinions TM

scott is actually a very good main character. listen, i got into this fandom when i was older, so i probably don't understand why there is this trend of hating scott, but he's a valid MC! he shows an example of positive masculinity that is honestly so refreshing to see in modern media: he's kind, compassionate, always optimistic but not stupidly so, has an amazing relationship with his mum AND his friends, he's not afraid to show emotions and cry. honestly a very healthy, albeit traumatised, young man. yes, he did stupid stuff for the girl he liked, and yes he misjudged a few situations, but please, remind me, how old is he supposed to be? 16? 17? 18? yeah. i did worse things at his age.

scott and stiles come from working class families!!! they have money problems!! it's honestly so refreshing to see teenagers discuss money in a supernatural/fantasy tv show. it doesn't usually happens and I've found it refreshing because it's something that usually happen between irl teenagers.

i don't get sterek. really, really don't. maybe it's bc i've watched the show through a gen z lens (meaning the media and the culture (read: THE INTERNET) when i watched the show were influenced more by gen z than millennials' values) but i really don't get it. and the age difference makes me uncomfortable. (same thing with parrish and lydia, SHE'S A MINOR DUDE, there's a reason people don't like cops istg) SOMEONE EXPLAIN STEREK TO ME PLEASE

in fics stiles and scott's personalities are often swapped: stiles is the caring one, the pack mum, scott is the one with homicidal tendencies. like, my dudes, the fact that scott is a GOOD person through and through is the reason he's a true alpha. also the reason we, as viewers, like stiles is bc he's sarcastic and more morally ambiguous than scott (not really, but you get it, he cares more about himself and his immediate friends, the others can die, scott instead want to save everyone period), it's like taking away the thing that makes stiles stiles

malia and stiles were SO cute, i didn't expect to like them so much, but when they broke up my heart shattered

stydia is everything i want in a ship and i will not accept any criticism on it, it's literally one of the only straight ships i like. you have the slowburn, the malewife x girlboss trope, the he fell first but she fell harder, the mutual pining. it literally checks all of my boxes

isaac was such a cool character and he and scott had an amazing dynamic, like come on, they had something going on between them

kira is a badass. that's it, that's the comment. i like her so much

derek's development is one of the best. i couldn't stand him in season 1, but in s4 he became one of my favourite characters. but i think this has more to do with the fact that they aged him up? he was supposed to be in his early 20s in s1, but then they aged him up in s3? well, anyway, i liked how he literally wised up, stepping into the role of a teacher and guide instead of a leader, it suits him so much better (and i'm sure it's less stressful)

peter is such a charmingly evil bastard. i hate him, but i love him at the same time.

thiam is the best ship in the show, i don't care if it's canon or not. i've read airplanes, it's canon to me

we would've liked (simped for) s5 theo more if he had the same haircut he had in 6b. he was just stupidly hot.

And seeing as you live in the absolute psychedelic fever dream that is New York City, something is always happening.

So you normally opt for stay in dates.

And, believe it or not, he actually prefers them. He always feels like the world is falling apart so being able to lose himself in your presence and whatever activity you guys are up to really helps ground him.

Another thing about dating Casey is he actually doesn't prefer kissing over other acts of physical affection.

kissing always feels sloppy and insincere to him.

His love language is acts of service but if you really want physical touch he prefers to hug you or cuddle you.

He likes being able to feel like he's protecting you and you feel so small in his arms like that.

It also makes him feel like you trust him. Not many people do, so the fact you are letting your guard down around him makes him feel like he really did do something right.

Overall, he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but he really loves you and always tries.

03' Casey:

This man has a bit more of a concept of reality than 87' Casey does. Not much smarter, just a bit more grounded.

That being said, he still has the same sweet heart.

He will take you where ever you want to go and do what ever you want to do.

He's not a huge fan of indoor dates though, they make him antsy. He always feels the need to be moving.

That being said he plans the best activities. He will take note of things you like and are good at and make will make sure to incorporate it into the date in some way.

Like 87' Casey, 03's love language is acts of service. He likes knowing how he can help you and enjoys seeing you relaxed.

Unlike him though, 03' Casey lives for your kisses.

Before that, eh, I honestly don't take the cartoon too seriously in a shipping perspective. If people like Kick x Jackie or Kick x Scarlett - good! It's their business, not mine. (In regards of Kick being a kid and Scarlett being a teen - it is kinda icky as their original ages, but most fanfics I red that include Kick x Scarlett are aged up a bit so it's not that bad. And eh, their age difference is like what, 2-3 years? That difference is nothing when you're adult)

OK NOW PART 2  FOR REALSIES

Them as a couple :)

1. They still fight. Pretty often. Now, however, their fights are more like play fights and they usually end with both of them giggling under their noses.

2. Kendall used to be quite jealous in the beginning of their relationship, but soon realized that her only "opponent" on that front is adrenaline. She already accepted that "Yep, I can not compete with that, sorry."

3. (I'm gonna put my "Kendall writes novels in secret" hc everywhere, yes) Kendall quite frequently gives Kick really cool stunt ideas and then asks him to tell her everything in detail. She hasn't told him about her hobby and everytime Kick asks why she has such cool stunt ideas and why she needs extremely detailed retelling afterwards, her reply is always "Y'know... Research..."

4. They are pretty good team when they are working together but don't leave them alone. They'll distract each other by flirting and get no things done.

5. Their dates are rarely normal. Even a simple walk in a park could end up with them in a middle of shark infested lake. Kick's doing usually. But their dates also rarely end in a disaster because Kendall prepares for almost everything.

Most of her clothes are waterproof for example.

6. Kendall sometimes calls Kick overly cute pet names just to mess with him a bit. She knows he doesn't like it but oh, the feminine urge to frustrate a man. Playfully.

7. The actual pet name Kendall has for Kick is "Tiger". She wanted to call him "kitten" but c'mon, it's too cute. She just made "kitten" more awesome.

8. Kicks pet name for Kendall? "Fireball". Kinda based on her fiery temper and "Kendall" sounds like "Candle" and candles are lit up with fire.

10. Jackie wasn't fond of the news that Kick and Kendall started dating to say the least. However after some time (and stalking)(Jackie is deranged <3) Jackie absolutely stopped getting between Kick and Kendall. Why?

She started obsessing over Kendall too.

11. Kinda ironic but hand holding is their most frequent way of pda. And the most unconscious one too. They just kinda reach for each other from time to time and it's so casual that you won't notice if you're not paying attention.

12. Communication is their biggest problem because

  - Kendall has some social perception issues tm

  - Kick is as naturally good in extreme sports as he is clumsy in a topic of relationships

They have an extremely messy fights sometimes but both are stubborn and sometimes see their relationship as a challenge so "We WILL figure it out >:("

They don't realise but their relationship gives them both character development 👍

13. If you mess with Kendall, Kick will pick a fight with you. 25% is because hey, don't mess with his girlfriend. 75% is because "Listen, she WILL ruin your life. You're better off with me knocking you down a peg or two"

14. This hc contradicts canon a bit but I just think it's cute so screw it - Kick doesn’t blush. Well, not really. He does BUT only his ears turn red. And he wears his helmet 24/7

While his family, Gunther, Wade and Kendall have seen Kick without his helmet, only Kendall knows about this.

15. Kick, even before they started dating, realized that "Kendall is boring" is nonsense. He already knew she can match him in acrobatics when she's following his lead but then why this girl knows how to make an actual sharp knife out of potatoes? Why she can sleep through math test and still get a perfect score? Why does she knows the names and layouts of some undocumented and pretty dangerous places in Mellowbrook? How did she reach that point when she can tell an obvious lie to an adult in power and they will believe her no questions asked? Why does she knows how to operate a submarine? Why does she knows the exact names of parts in a motorcycle? (It's normal for him to know but why does SHE KNOWS?) (She reads a lot :) )

Kendall joked that she "expected the unexpected" when they started dating but never realized that it was the same for Kick.

16. Kick taught Kendall to rollerblade. (Yes, Kendall joked that she wanted to know how to do it so she can beat Kick in roller derby "fair and square") Kendall learned pretty quickly but kept pretending that she didn't so she could spend more time with Kick.

He knew btw.

Harry Potter Rec Fest Day 13 - Over 100K

I so appreciate the dedication that it takes for someone to write over 100K words; I think even my M.A. thesis topped out at 30K (with much academic padding). I've read a ton of long fics so there's probably some recency bias here for @hprecfest day 13, but I've also tried to share a couple different pairings ...

Blood Magic (Podfic) written and read by houseofthehebrideanblcks and thestralsofspinnersend Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 334,676 Length: 33:05:11 Rating: E

@thistlecatfics already said all the things about this fic in their recommendation for the podfic the other day, and said it in a much lovelier and more eloquent way than I ever could. I guess I came at it from a different perspective though - as someone who is very lucky to feel not too traumatized by life or struggling with addiction or mental health (not a brag, just context), I got to see inside the brains of people like that and feel great empathy for them. Isn't that what art should do - put you in the shoes of different people and make you see the world differently? This is a slow, beautiful story of down-and-out Draco AND Harry heading toward something like peace and love, but it's a long road to get there. Also featuring endlessly patient counselor Luna, supportive Ron & Hermione, and lots of magical creatures.

The podfic is also really well done. The authors recorded it as a podcast originally. If the 33 hour single file on InternetArchive isn't really your speed, you can get the podcast version here, which includes their commentary after each chapter. Maybe not for everyone, but I found it interesting as a companion piece to hear their writing process and talk about trauma, treatment, and recovery in their own lives.

This fic is so interesting. I had gotten a little burned out on Dramione before listening to this fic and this fully resparked my interest. I don't want to give too much away, but it's a mystery, a time travel adventure, and a romance. All the characterizations are very real, even though there might be more than one characterization of some of the characters. Can I use character more times in one sentence? Ah, and the twist at the end!!! *Chef's kiss*

I didn't think a hockey AU would be for me, even though I kinda like hockey. I was tempted by the prospect of Everyone Lives (TM) and I'm so grateful for it. This fic is beautiful, the development of all the characters, both canon and original, is incredible. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I sighed, and when I was done, I wanted to start reading it all over again. At the time, it was newly finished and a sequel was on the way. I've been waiting for a nice vacation or sick day to reread it and its sequel, Vaincre. @lumosinlove has created a wonderful world and I just want to see the characters play around in it forever. I haven't listened to the podfic, but I'd encourage everyone to give it a shot!

If you had asked me the ratings of my two out of three of my favorite novel-length Drarry fics yesterday, I wouldn't have thought the answer would be T, but apparently it is. This story, along with Away Childish Things, rewired my brain. I love the pace, I love the development of both boys' characters, I love the ancillary characters both old and new. It's just a perfectly told story. Although I should be encouraging you to go listen to my podfic on AO3 or Spotify, I can definitely also recommend the reading experience. Don't skip the adorable author's notes containing the adventures of the author's dog and grad school woes (relatable).

Tron '82 > Legacy, but idk if that's an unpopular thought loll

What that makes Legacy's story go from good to great is all of it's various companion pieces�� The Flynn Lives ARG, The Next Day, Betrayal, Evolution, Uprising, etc etc. The best thing about the Tron franchise is how it uses so many different mediums (and technology that viewers interact with in different ways!).

The Flynn Lives ARG, to me, is still the most ingenious thing that has happened to this franchise. Is it a little sad that the deeper aspects of Alan and Sam (and sort of Lora and Roy)'s characters get sidelined to something that average movie-goer isn't going to seek out? Yes, extremely. But the ARG is such a treat for fans that I'm genuinely surprised that Tronblr of the 2020s doesn't pay any attention to it. There's so much character and world building, and so many little, little easter eggs— I think the ARG deserves so much more attention!!!!

Evolution does more for the main program characters of Legacy (Clu2, Quorra) character development than Uprising does 😭The existence of Abraxas makes Clu more sinister because we see him purposefully going behind Flynn's back, and as dark as it was, Quorra's personal losses almost felt more heavy in Evo than Uprising since Anon and Quorra work together through the game. But I'm also very biased because I liked Evo's story so much lmao

admittedly I have gone back and forth on this one a lot over the years. because I generally (obviously) love 82 to bits and it is my favorite part of the whole franchise. but at times I have questioned if Legacy is narratively the Better Movie(tm). and at the end of the day I think it's somewhat hard to compare because they're telling pretty different stories, once you get past the surface level sucked into cyberspace plot. 82 has a warmer fuzzier view of the potential of technology in the right hands compared to Legacy, which in my interpretation leans more into the idea that family -- human love and connection -- supersedes the more "alien" program way of life. 82 wants you to like the programs and see them as people just like us, whereas Legacy has more of a Basics kinda suck and only the more human ISOs are worth anything approach lol. and I think there's validity in both those takes, and I think the times and environments in which they were created has a huge impact on how they view and approach technology. but. yeah. 82 wins for me on its more optimistic hopeful vibe alone.

2. The Tron EU (extended universe not European Union)

100% agreeeeeeeeee. I sometimes catch myself lamenting the fact that it's such a small franchise, but when you add up all the comics and games and the ARG (Flynn Lives ARG light of my life we will get to you in a moment xoxo) and the show there really is a lot! honestly throw ElecTRONica in there too, there was lore there. half the reason I have such a hard time even recommending the movies to people is because I want to be like okay but you also need to watch/read/play all of this please you don't UNDERSTAND

the way Tron has been handled by some many creators and creative teams is honestly just.... really beautiful and special to me in the most unironic sense. it sucks that the mouse has never given the franchise the trust or the resources to grow, and I hate that so many projects are soured by this air of something being ripped away from people who clearly loved it and wanted to do more. but that love is so undeniable in all these bits and pieces of the franchise. there will always be people who love Tron as much as we the fandom do, and I would rather have a hundred of these one-off passion projects like Uprising or Identity than a bunch of soulless blockbuster movies

3. ARG my beloved <3

I really can't even articulate everything that the ARG is to me, and I wasn't even involved when it was ongoing. when I was just getting into Tron after Legacy got the home release, a good chunk of the ARG sites were still live, and I remember digging into all of it and being amazed and obsessed. I still have the wiki site where everything is archived bookmarked. there's so much good background in there. and Roy! ROY!!!!!!! and the big reveals in The Next Day? OUR little operation, ISOlatedThinker???? I am not and will neve be normal about it, and it's sad to think the current iteration of the fandom doesn't know about or acknowledge it as much

4. Evolution v Uprising

I feel ya. don't get me wrong, I love the Uprising cast, but I was never completely in love with how the show handled the pre-established characters. like I was saying before I didn't like how Uprising made Clu a more detached / distant villain, so having him be a more direct bastard in Evo worked better for me. and Quorra ugh :( she really loses everything over the course of the game, and I think it makes her character in Legacy so much more poignant knowing that she went through all of that but was still so hopeful. Abraxas was such a good, tragic, fucked up antagonist. and Gibson oughhhhhh. again hard to say what would have happened in a second season of Uprising (pour one out), but Evolution is so deliciously bleak in a way the show never completely got to be. Uprising is mostly dark because we know or can infer what's going to happen, because we know where canon ends up. but Evolution has more of an opportunity to show us the dark and horrible things that went on after the coup, and it's a carries a little more weight as a result. rip Anon you will always be famous

Mark: If you're wondering why this cutoff, it's because the only thing I could stand my phone on was like this— it's kind of an indented suitcase, so it's kind of this [pats the suitcase] is just there for. Reasons. I wanted to let you know, I haven't been uploading videos for about a week now. Originally, that was because I was out of town working on movie stuff "TM". But I found out earlier this week, just a few days ago, that my uncle passed away. So, I was not prepared for that — obviously no one is prepared for that — but I was literally not prepared because I wasn't home, I wasn't home, you know, so I had to take care of some things first. And now I'm gonna be going to Cincinnati to help make arrangements and help, you know, the rest of my family with that. And I know I've gone for extended periods of time when I was working on movie stuff — that I just basically haven't said anything because I was so hyperfocused — but this is one of those times where I really wanted to let you guys know what was going on. You know, I know there's The Plan and stuff like that, but none of that really matters when there's something important to take care of. So I'm going to take care of that and I'm not exactly sure when I'm gonna be back; it just depends on how much time I need to be out there. And obviously — I know a lot of people are gonna say it — but obviously, I am not gonna focus on trying to get back to making content or working on other stuff, so these things take precedent and these things need to be, you know, taken care of. And, you know, family is so important so I would never want anyone to, you know, prioritize work over that. So I'm definitely not gonna do the same either. And I wouldn't in any other circumstance. I watched Disney's Robin Hood tonight, and here are some of my highlights:

This movie is so FUN. Even as an adult who has seen this movie so many times I laugh out loud multiple times when watching it

Prince John being fooled by The cross-dressing Robin Hood and little John because he cannot fathom the idea of Female robbers

Everything about their heist is fun- but especially kissing away the ring jewels, the entire conversation between Robin and prince John, Prince John's reflection in the ball, sir Hiss being stuck in a basket and the thieves colliding when running out with their bounty

We're really shown how wicked the sheriff is, stealing coins out of the cast of a cripple, the birthday gift from a kid and a beggar

Robin is very good with kids and gives the birthday boy a bow, arrow and even his own hat

Turns out both Marian and her Lady in waiting Kluck are also terrific with children and their little playing with the children is absolutely adorable

Marian having a wanted poster of her beloved in her room is so funny to me, I cannot get over it.

Robin being a horrible cook because he is thinking about his lady love 😍

The cartwheels he does when he hears that the winner of the archery competition will get a kiss from lady Marian!❤❤👌

Also he has zero chill during the competition. Someone with brain cells might think that he should mess up a couple of the shots to be more inconspicuous, but not him.

Cleaving the sheriff's arrow with his own is a Legendary TM moment though

The little turtle cheering for his dad was adorable. I really enjoyed the looks of all the contestants too!

Robin and Marian's love confessions when he's been found out 😭

Little John is literally saving the day multiple times during the aftermath of the contest while wearing a crop top. Also him just vibing with the prince, or "PJ", is a testament to his acting skills.

After the fight breaks out Robin and Marin agree to marry, where to go for their honeymoon and discuss their future number of children (robin:"We'll have six children". Marian: "no, a dozen at least") They both have zero chill and are so hot for each other, it would be sickening if i didn't love it so much

Lady Kluck literally being Player of the Game during the fight, every single thing she does is a win

The entire fighting sequence is a joy from start to finnish

The song "Love" while Robin and Marian just walk around in the forrest talking and being well ... in love 😭😍❤

The scene with the warerlillies, fireflies and the flower-ring while they gaze into each others eyes is the textbook definition of Romance

Much of the animation in A Phoney king of England is borrowed from earlier movies, but I like the little game I make of trying to remember wich animations are from which movie

I also like Friar Tuck's little theatre setup and Robin using his bow as a, well, bow when playing the violin

The song becoming such a hit in the town that Prince John raises the taxes even more, resulting in several people being put in jail (The jail part is not a favourite but the song being a hit is)

Friar Tuck absolutely losing it when the sheriff steals from the box for the Poor in his church.👏👏

The double take Robin does when he hears his friend is to be hanged on the morrow, first out of character then in character as the beggar.

(In the swedish version Trigger, who is suspicious of the beggar remarks that "han har en räv bakom örat" lit. trans ="he has a fox behind his ear" which means that he is up to something. I thought it was a fun pun considering Robin is a fox)

I view the whole breaking into the castle sequence each Christmas (as is tradition) but I always forget how much from the movie they cut out of the Christmas show

(The whole sequence with Robin masquerading as Nutsy, John freeing the prisoners and about half the fight/flight when they escape is cut from the Christmas show)

Trigger being unable to properly secure his crossbow is a great running gag. He calls his crossbow "gamla Bettan" in Swedish- probably translated: "Old Betsy". I wonder what he calls it in other languages?

And each time I watch I lament that Robin gets too greedy, just leave that last money sack that the prince is cradling in his arms!!

Robin (and little John) turning around to fetch the little bunny is so in character and kinda heartbreaking because Robin almost dies

Robin is really fearing for his life - especially in the burning tower

Robin's face after his escape and Skippy claims that he could've swum double the distance

Was the ending rushed? Yes. Do I care? No.

Throwing my thoughts regarding the Good Omens leak (tm) into the void 👀👀👀

(Note, I'm not including the actual leak below the cut but I AM discussing the contents, so do not read if you don't want to be spoiled.)

I DO think the kiss is "real" or at the very least between Aziraphale and Crowley (as opposed to a shapeshifting scenario). Admittedly, this doesn't totally rule out that one or both of them is imagining the whole thing but I'm trying to stay positive here! This is based on details in the leak itself and the context of how the leak happened, but I'm also a clown who has lived through Supernatural and the Magicians, so what do I know really! Anyway can't believe my life for the past few days has been a blurry Amazon screenshot and my last few remaining braincells 😂

Okay, so in the leak Crowley is grabbing Aziraphale by the lapels. We've seen this before in the wall scene, so we KNOW that this is something Crowley does - Amazon has also singled it out to the point you can watch it as a separate clip on YouTube (at least in the UK you can!) Incidentally they've also uploaded a video that calls Aziraphale and Crowley "Couple Goals" within the last year. Make of that what you will lol

There is also the fact that I think a lot of people have missed given that the leak was buried so quickly (RIP I saw the original video before Amazon even deleted it) - it was taken from a Pride video with the tagline of "iconic [queer] kisses." Good Omens was also credited by name at the end of the video! If the kiss is a fakeout or something similar would they have really greenlighted something like this??? Yes, it's entirely possible that some poor intern just added every clip of two men or two women kissing that Amazon has the rights to, and I'm not saying that they would be aware of any context either..... but it had to be approved by someone, somewhere, surely?

I'm going to point out that even if it is a "fake" kiss, if Aziraphale and Crowley are imagining it then that has certain implications too ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

I also think it's very significant that we're returning to the 1940s in the show, given that it's apparently been stated on record that this was when Aziraphale realised he loved Crowley...

And finally...... It's very sad that we even HAVE to discuss this, that even with the kiss right before our eyeballs we're still finding ways to convince ourselves that it's not real or it won't happen or that the context will spoil it. I'm actively trying to NOT do this but I'm still doubting a little, it's ridiculous 😔

Wedding ask game! Can I ask your 1 & 24? ♡

Of course! <3 These will all be for my tav, Morrigan, and Gale

Wedding, or something else? Wedding! Morrigan never actually had any particularly strong feelings about marriage previously. Her parents were poly and weren't married to each other or their other partners, certainly not in any official capacity, and it was never a big, important thing within her druid circle. It seemed potentially nice, something that had its place, but not a necessity or something she thought about much. However, when Gale proposed she said yes without hesitation. She'd never been a Romantic TM like he is, but she realized she really liked the idea of declaring their love and dedication in some sort of formalized way. Plus it was clearly important to him, and she's always happy to do what makes him happy.

The night before The night before they're both giddy with excitement. Gale briefly (and somewhat reluctantly) floated the idea of sleeping separately and not seeing each other until the ceremony, but Morrigan wasn't interested, saying that she saw no point in spending that time apart leading up to a ceremony specifically dedicated to them choosing to spend their lives together. Gale was only too happy to agree, so they spent the afternoon making final preparations, and that night lying in bed, grinning like the smitten fools they are, trading kisses and words of excitement. Gale has a couple bouts of nervousness - as usual he wants everything to be perfect - but Morrigan is there to remind him that as long as they're both there, the wedding happens, and people have fun, then that's a success. Neither of them gets as much sleep as they probably should, but the wedding will be in the evening so they have some time to sleep in, and it's worth it to spend those extra late-night hours enjoying their mutual excitement.

After Viggo attempts to sacrifice himself to save Hiccup, Hiccup manages to get him out and back to the Edge and save his life in turn. Obviously, Viggo can't go back to the hunters after they tried to kill him, so he stays with the Dragon Riders. (Or whatever other reason for Viggo to be there you prefer. The how he got there part isn't really the point, anyway:) He and Hiccup become a Thing(tm). It becomes very apparent to all of the other riders that Hiccup and Viggo are madly and truly in love. (However long that takes)

Fluff starts here: Viggo has been trying for a while now to figure out how to ask Hiccup to marry him but can't find anything he deems Perfect. Enter Snotlout, telling Viggo if he wanted Hiccup to melt like yak butter and absolutely say yes, that he and Fishlegs could help play some music after dinner one night and Viggo could Serenade Hiccup with the most romantic wedding song they knew: For the Dancing and the Dreaming. (The song from the second movie that stole my fucking heart and won't give it back.) Which also means there are several secret practice sessions where Snotlout has to teach Viggo the song and accompanying dance. (Could add angst or humor here)

Viggo might initially have reservations, not 100% sure if Snotlout was being genuine, but upon talking to Fishleggs, it actually seemed legit.

Snotlout would be high key offended that Viggo didn't initially believe him, but honestly, that's fair.

Hiccup does in fact melt when Viggo starts singing to him, and when the song ends and Viggo is on one knee with a ring held out to him Hiccup legitimately does not have words for how happy he is and just throws himself at his new fiancé knocking them both over.

Snotlout: *gesturing to the happy couple on the floor, Viggo being smothered in kisses* You see that? That right there? I did that. You're welcome!

So he just grabs harry by the lapels and fuckn goes for it, full on smooching the life outta this poor bastard, 0-100 real quick(I mean full on, he got his leg hiked up around Harry's waist, hand running through the hair, necking like a couple teens in the corner(there is tongue)). As the people pass by and once they in the clear he steps back with his little "khm." and straight face picks up where they left off like nothing happened. Then Harry just standing there absolutely gobsmacked, stuck buffering like asgdfhadha.

Alternatively(slight nsfw), they on a stakeout or something and Harry just being the chatterbox that he is and Kim notices someone coming and is like "oh shit, need to shut harry up before they discover us" And of course he decides easiest way to do that is just kiss him so he can't talk. So he shuts him up with a kiss, something more chaste, like just press of the lips. But it works, Harry clams up. Kim pulls back with his finger to Harry's lips like *shush* and looks over to the danger. Harry nods in understanding, but Kim keeps his hand where it is against him.

idk where this taking place but they in like an alley or something so Kim also has him pinned up against the wall. And like Harry is INTO THAT(tm). So the tension just keeps ratcheting up between them as they keep up eye contact with eachother. And Harry being the little shit that he is decides he's 100% down for whatever is going on rn and decides to escalate, so he gives a little lick. And Kim does his little eyebrow raise like *you for real bro?* And Harry just doubles down and puts his heart into it cause fuck it, shoot your shot y'know? So he basically ends up with multiple of Kim's fingers in his mouth, and starts getting carried away and let's out a little moan cause he just having a good time tbh. To which Kim is like *!!!* and kinda panics cause they trying to stay hidden, so he brings up his other hand and puts it around Harry's neck with a bit of pressure as like a reminder that they supposed to be being quiet. But BIG MISTAKE there cause that's a THING for Harry so he lets out this big ass whimper/moan without meaning to that alerts the people around them. So they gotta hightail it outta there, running to wherever they hid the kineema and then pedal to the medal they escape. 

Turn to later at precinct they doing paperwork/forms about they stuff and neither one has really made any mention of what happened between them, it's getting later to the end of day. Kim casually asks Harry if he'd like a drive back to his apartment cause it's late so he doesn't have to walk. Harry like "sure". When they set out instead of heading in the direction of Harry's though they go opposite and Harry like *???* but doesn't really wanna say anything cause he feels chagrined over what happened, got it in his head that it was all him and he did a bad(tm). 

They pull up to Kim's apartment and Harry still not questioning anything just following Kim's lead, Kim’s like "Inside." no emotion or giving anything away, so Harry follows him up and once they inside he just like shyly by the door not knowing what's about to happen like *is Kim mad at me? gotta be, uh oh*

Then Kim turns on him and is like "I guess I've got to teach you how to be quiet/listen to what I ask/follow orders properly"

*cue like 3k of smut*
