A Tup from @trudemaethien’s excellent fic Edeemi, Baby, One More Time that I drew back in May! I didn’t have a Star Wars tumblr at the time and wasnt planning on posting it anywhere so I forgot about it until now, but I had such a fun time playing around with lighting effects and his expression!

I really love their mer universe and I’m especially fond of Tup’s POV in this fic. It’s such a good job of expressing the confusion and frustration of communication barriers and reasonable, best-intent misunderstandings between all of them, while still leaning into the positive aspects of discovering the world and representing it from slightly different perspective than people normally take 10/10 highly recommended

The quick answer is yes.

Purebreds have stronger instincts across the board, and two together have more of a risk of things getting out of hand since they're perceptive to so much more than just regular alphas and omegas. If we go back to when the reader punched at alpha, it was said she was reacting to Simon's emotions. So she was affected by Simon because she can pick up on those subtle changes like Simon can. That's why Simon can read the reader so well and notices so much about her. I touched on this a bit in chapter 23 and I'll be going more in depth with it in chapter 25, but the reader isn't quite as aware of it as Simon and she's particularly susceptible to losing control because she doesn't even know she can utilize or control those heightened instincts. She never learned how.

So yeah, that's partially why things got so feral and primal between them.

I need to go insane for a second cause I was in the middle of writing when I completely mentally sidetracked. (Sorry if someone has already brought this up round here.) Why the heck is Pen even carrying the diamond ring during the last fight with him?

Pen is likely lying about being 'opposed to marriage' because of it's exsistance. I assume it's universally agreed on that the diamond ring was likely to be an engagement ring if it was used. Cause what else would it be, he only drops it if the builder romances him. He likely can't marry due to the mission (maybe a citizenry issue too?).

That ring is not something you can get your hands on in Sandrock, so it's likely imported from somewhere else. Meaning that he ordered it sometime before the invasion. Wether it was direct, through the Mysterious Man, or other method, does not matter. The obtaining of it was likely a consious desion.

Why does he have the ring on him post first jailing?

Maybe because he spends it blaming everything on Miguel, he thinks he might get away with it all still. That there's still a possibity that it all works out and he's not seen as the bad guy. That the builder still believes in him. But that all comes crashing with the invasion.

Why does he have it on him during the invasion?

The invasion happened due to interception of the frequency. When you get up to the Starship ruins, they are trying to quickly extract the engines and leave. The Duvos group might have been nearly finished with the mission when the interception happened, so had to quickly speed up the main part due to it.

So, if the interference never happened, does that mean Pen was planning on proposing as the mission completed and see if the builder would come back with him to Duvos? If the builder says no, then oh well, he tried. Mission's complete so time to head home either or.

After that, why is he still carrying it when he's up in the ruins?

Maybe he forgot about it, carrying it around on accident.

Could be a sentimental thing, which doesn't really sound like a Pen thing.

So... Maybe he planed on quickly going down to Sandrock to ask once the soldiers are due to leave. Since communications are down, someone would have to go and give the order manually. That would give the opportunity to ask while there was still time.

He's hoping that the unlikely possibility happens. That the builder changes sides at the last possible moment. That he can have both.

lord its so dark in here the sahara desert of tsaritsa content you are like a shining oasis. your characterisation of her compels me & mihoyo would be hard pressed to top it imo.!! caaaaan i humbly request yr thoughts on her first meeting w a reader of any kind, or maybe even multiple kinds (sagau, sagau god au, isekai, etc) if you so desire...

it really is like a desert here. being the fan of a character we aren't getting until the last damn nation is driving me up a wall but i will persevere bc if nothing else i support morally bankrupt women in media. we r in a severe drought over here but i do my best. unfortunately nothing i say is ever coherent so pull out your translation notes its abt 2 be messy

also this got out of hand but thats bc first meetings w the tsaritsa are tricky to write + a LOT of her characterization lies in deeper exploration then just surface level yknow...NOT A DIG AT YOU this is just my excuse for rambling. gently pats the tsaritsa she can hold so much complexity i do not have the word count to delve into it completely :]

gonna talk cult au for a bit here though because that's 99% of my content. and honestly? she thrives in sub au's of the cult au like villain au + imposter au. it's basically made for her. i mean, early days, the imposter au had been going around for a little while but one of the first few ideas was the Fatui taking reader in so like. it kinda technically actually was. pretty sure cult au Tsaritsa popped up because of the imposter au. a lot of it's writers kinda left though which. man am i getting old or.

anyway.

there isn't much of a chance her first impression is all that positive. at best it's usually neutral, imo, but rarely if ever positive. specifically because i view the Tsaritsa as someone who isn't as fanatical as most of the acolytes typically are towards the creator. she's not exactly going to worship the ground you walk on unlike a certain geo lizard. which is partially why i think she thrives in the sub au's i mentioned.

imposter au, for example. she meets you at your lowest. there's no gaudy extravagance or pampering from the acolytes waiting for you because your own acolytes have turned on you. for all intents and purposes you aren't a "god" at all. which is why i don't think she meshes well with normal cult au reader. the Fatui are made up of outcasts, basically, and imposter au slots right in just perfectly. you're weak, at your lowest, when you meet the Fatui in the imposter au. and the Fatui can help you, too.

a mutual exchange, really. the Tsaritsa sees a tool she can use to one up the rest of the nations and especially Archons, and she has no qualms about you using her and the Fatui in turn. you both want something out of it, after all. whether you just want to be safe from the rest of the acolytes, or you want revenge, or whatever else..she'll give you the power to fulfill it, and she gains the strongest piece on the chessboard when all is said and done.

the best way i can describe the first meeting is "practical", i suppose. she sees an opportunity in you. the ultimate gamble. because if she "saves" you, and you dont trust anyone else because they tried to kill you, well..she holds all the cards, doesn't she?

but the Tsaritsa, imo, is just as capable of being just as fanatical towards you as anyone else. she just won't worship you as the creator. but as yourself? clawing your way back to your divine power and taking back what belongs to you? the Tsaritsa is, to me, a character who's character flourishes in long-term fics more because she changes a LOT between "just met reader" and after having been with reader for some time. she's practically apathetic at the beginning but a lot of her character, in my characterization, shines through LONG after the first meeting.

Their positions aren't just similar, they're reversed. In "I Will Be Okay", Via is on the floor and Stolas's shadow is standing up, looking down on her and reaching a hand to her from above, which she swats away. At the end of Sinsmas, Stolas is kneeling on the floor, with Via looking down at him from above, and her hand resting on Stolas's, which she pulls away from.

AND THE PARALLELS AND REVERSALS DON'T END THERE

From what I could see, it seems like there's only one instance where the parallel doesn't totally apply.

i kinda struggle to manage lore that. happens outside of my blog thru multiple sources due to the fact my inbox tends to stay Busy™️.

in regards to people wanting to join in with canon blogs, i want to be polite when i say that it's .. gunna stress me out further. :(

nobody's fault, i am kinda picky w my lore (despite being about 85% accurate i Guess) and naturally bad at managing external sources and blogs, and having more other blogs popping up tends to make me worry about discrepancies with details and external plots and developments that i haven't "approved" of myself. it's why i keep to my own blog often as well </3 makes it a hell of a lot easier to manage things

from this point forward, i'm gunna have to (sadly) shut the door on people making More canon blogs for my blog— you can still send in cool anons, ofc :3 thats far easier !!! the actual dsmp failed to communicate and i do Nawt want that happening here (even on a far smaller scale LMAO)

i'm swamped with tryna write q as best as possible yet currently a bit too busy worrying to Actually write. so unless ive really set up stuff w you, i'll probably stick to my own anons / already set up blogs 2 interact with and such for the most part. big big sorry!! What do you think as Hermione's career would be post battle of Hogwarts? To me her being minister for magic really doesn't make sense. She does not have patience or tact to wade through murky waters of politics 😭😭

So hard to say! The Trio are so, so young when we leave them, I find it almost impossible to project their futures farther than a few years out. The job that suited me at 17 would be radically unsuited to me now. That's why of all the Trio, Ron's ending strikes me as the most realistic — he jumps straight into the save-the-world business again, burns out, realizes he's actually Done The Fuck Enough, Thanks, and pivots into a low-stress career where he gets to see his family a lot. Feels accurate! The others are weirder to me because they do seem to just... pick a lane and stay there.

With Hermione, you could spin her a couple ways. You could say that she leans into her bookish side and does research or teaching, which is not my preference for a couple reasons (namely, I don't think Hermione would like academia as a profession; she finds her classwork interesting and enjoys intellectual validation, but she'd be stifled and wasted in a DPhil program, and she'd be infuriated by the administrative politicking of your average higher-ed faculty). You could say that she gets disaffected with politics and ends up as a barrister or a lobbyist of some kind, but if anything that requires more political finesse, because you don't actually have institutional power, you're just handling the people who make decisions and trying to persuade them of your goals. This is not Hermione's preferred method of influence. She's not even particularly good at persuasion, she just happens to be smart enough (and right often enough) that people take her ideas seriously.

Or you could say her brashness fades with the years into a softened flavor of tell-you-like-it-is honesty, which some politicians actually do successfully trade on; as we see in British politics today, you don't have to be all that charming or clever to get ahead, you just need to be really driven and well-connected (which Hermione completely is; she fought shoulder-to-shoulder with the first postwar Minister and her bestie, the Literal Messiah, runs the Auror Office.) But I don't know if Hermione especially wants to be Minister, after the war. She's just watched years of horrendous bureaucratic incompetence plunge the country into a violent civil conflict. She's had not one, but two Ministers of Magic try to bully or shame her friends into complicity with fascism. Her view of government is... likely extremely dark.

But Hermione also isn't the kind of person who sees her life as a quest for happiness. Babygirl has a savior complex that makes Harry look selfish. (She basically kills her parents — yeah, obliviating is a form of murder, #changemymind — "for their own good," and justifies every batshit, vindictive, mean-spirited move she ever pulls on the grounds that it "helps" one of her friends.) She is a mean, lean, dragon-slaying machine, and she needs a dragon. After Voldemort, the Ministry is the no. 1 threat to muggle-borns and non-wizarding Beings. As a war heroine with basically infinite political capital, I'd be surprised if she didn't try to do something there. That said, Hermione is so vivacious and dynamic that she could potentially grow in a hundred different directions; it's possible that all of this, while true of her at 18, becomes completely inaccurate by 22. That's why I'm not too fussed about any particular fanon interpretation.
