luke castellan x reader — percy jackson and the olympians
Tumblr media
[child of apollo reader, should be gender neutral]
i tried to write a summary but it sucked so: reader is a child of apollo and luke is always hanging around the infirmary with a new injury. you hate it (do you really?)
(this got so out of hand but im so obsessed with luke castellan rn it’s not even funny. like. help.)
warning: like one or two swear words, mentions of injuries and illness, fluff i think
word count: 1.2k
____________________
you’d never been a fan of luke castellan. you knew it, he knew it—hell, everyone at camp knew it.
but a little unfriendliness never stopped him.
children of apollo were meant to be warm and kind all the time, but you’d rather die before being happy-go-lucky all the time like your siblings. you’d rather do your job: healing the campers who injured themselves throughout the days at camp. you’d also rather those campers not include luke castellan for once, but not all wishes can come true.
scarcely a day could pass by without luke coming into the infirmary, or coming up to you elsewhere in camp if you weren’t there, with a minor injury that he insisted needed healing immediately.
“i just don’t think i can continue kayaking with a sprained ankle, y/n.”
“what if it was your knees you skinned? wouldn’t you want to get them healed so you could get back to arts and crafts?”
“if my cut finger isn’t healed as soon as possible i’ll have to sit capture the flag out tomorrow! yes, i know it’s a paper cut. that’s not the point!”
he really was ridiculous.
either way, you had to heal him, technically. at your heart, you were a good person. on the surface, you wanted to punch him. give him something to really cry about.
“y/n, your boyfriend’s here again.” one of your sisters, cassidy, called out to you as you checked the stock of bandaids.
you rolled your eyes, not even bothering to correct her. “what this time?”
“i just have the worst headache, doc. it’s killing me.” luke said dramatically, holding his forehead. the small grin on his face didn’t support his statement at all.
you turned around, eyes wide and face serious, but trying not to smirk. “oh no, you might have meningitis! if it’s the worst headache of your life, we should get to you a hospital so they can do a spinal tap and run some tests.”
the grin on his face faltered as you pulled him to a seat. “uh—“
“lie down. don’t move. i’m going to get chiron.”
he gripped your arm. “no, wait, i think—“
“you’ll be fine?” you turned around with raised brows. “yeah, thought so. drink some water, castellan.”
“but—“
“what? you won’t be able to do sword fighting practise with a headache? big deal.”
“y/n—“
“you need to stop coming in here every time you get bored. we’re not an entertainment space.”
“but, i really do have a headache. like. a migraine.”
you stopped and turned back around, dropping the bandages you had been organising. “oh. shit, i’m sorry. hold on.”
cursing yourself internally, you rushed off to get nectar to hopefully help, along with some painkillers and a bottle of chilled water. when you came back, luke was lying on the bed, eyes closed.
“you okay, soldier?” you patted his shoulder gently.
he cracked one eye open and nodded. “kind of.”
you gently pulled him to sit up. “come on. gotta get some meds in you. eat any food today? drink enough water?”
he shook his head as he sipped the nectar, his eyes squinted. “got busy.”
you shot him a disapproving look and he smiled guiltily. “you need to eat or you’ll die. do you want to die?”
he looked up at you with furrowed brows. “you don’t have a very good bedside manner, you know?”
“then why do you keep coming back here?” you went back to organising bandages, busying your hands.
“i like my doctors prettier than they are kind, honestly.”
you froze your movements and looked over at him. luke was smiling slightly. your cheeks weren’t turning red, you told yourself. they weren’t allowed to. “whatever,” you finally said. “take your meds, drink all of that water—sip it, don’t chug—then get some sleep, alright?”
he nodded, taking a sip of the water. “yes, doc. got it.”
you nodded at him firmly and walked off once he’d taken the painkillers, hoping he couldn’t see right through you.
luke hadn’t been to the infirmary in a week, and you were genuinely starting to get concerned.
every free moment you got, you were staring at the door, or out the window, waiting for him to come in with some stupid injury and even more stupid excuse. but he didn’t.
after watching you pace for the seventh time in one morning, cassidy groaned. “just go find him.”
“i’m sure he’s fine.” you said, wringing your hands. “i mean, he’s probably just busy.”
“just go. you’re stressing me out. i can’t get anything done with you filling the room with your nervous energy. go find your boyfriend.”
“luke’s not my boyfriend.”
“i never said who it was.”
“well, it was pretty obvious—“
“just go!” she threw a bandage at your head, effectively forcing you out the door.
you didn’t even know where he was.
camp was huge, so it took you around twenty minutes to find him, he sun glaring into your eyes and likely burning your cheeks. regardless, you were on a mission. finally, you spotted him in the arena. of course.
you watched for a while until he noticed you, standing in the shade with your eyes squinted in the sun and your arms crossed over your chest. he grinned and jogged over.
“hey, doc. what brings you here?” he asked, sheathing his sword.
your eyes followed the precise movement. “why haven’t you been to the infirmary?”
he shrugged. “i haven’t been injured.”
“didn’t stop you before.”
there was a silence.
then he smiled again. “did you miss me?”
your cheeks burned. “no!” you cleared your through awkwardly. “i just… i get… bored. and you… keep the monotony away.”
“you missed me.”
“i did not miss you.”
he leaned closer, rocking back and forth on his feet. “you missed me.”
you glared up at him, but couldn’t fight the tiny smile that forced itself on your lips. you shook your head, pressing your lips together tightly. “nope. didn’t miss you.”
“well,” he shrugged. “guess i don’t need to tell you that i did actually just hurt my hand while training, huh?”
you frowned. “are you aware that consuming as much nectar and ambrosia as you seem to want to will cause you to burn to a crisp?”
“i don’t need godly food if i have you as my doctor.” he smiled cheekily, clenching his fist then wincing. “seriously, though. it hurts.”
“aw, poor baby.” you pouted, leaning forward and placing your hand on his and trying to feel if there was any injury present.
before you could do anything, his fingers had interlocked with yours and he was stepping closer to you.
you looked up at him, heart pounding and cheeks burning. “what are you—“
“i don’t know what we can do for a date around here, but i’d love to take you on one, doc.” he said, his voice uncharacteristically soft.
you froze, heart fluttering. butterflies danced in your stomach. you found yourself nodding before you could stop yourself, smiling. “okay. yeah. take me on a date, soldier.”
“yeah?” he smiled, squeezing your hand. “great! i’ve been trying to work up the guts to ask you for weeks now. also, can i kiss you?”
“i’ve been trying to pretend i didn’t want you to ask me for weeks.” you said, stepping slightly closer to him. “also… yes.”
his free hand cupped your cheek and his lips pressed to yours, soft and sweet.
you wondered why you ever said you didn’t like him.

Tumblr media
"Do you think it's bleeding? It feels like it's bleeding." Bucky groaned, rubbing the back of his head.
"Oh please, you're fine." You mumbled from the couch, clutching your lower abdomen while holding your breath as your cramps started to get worse.
This morning you'd woken up to the most painful cramps you've ever experienced. You assumed that they were pre-period cramps, and tried to go back to sleep. However, a few minutes later, you felt Bucky's hand on your shoulder gently shaking you awake. You mumbled five more minutes, before trying to go back to sleep.
"Love, wake up," he whispered, glancing down at the dark stain on the bed, "You're bleeding, doll."
Suddenly awake, you quickly opened your eyes and turned to look down at the crimson stain on the bed. Groaning loudly, you put your head in your hands. You normally got your period on time, though sometimes it could be a day or two late. It was rarely ever early. You weren't supposed to get your period for another 4 days, and yet here it was. You felt embarrassed, but fortunately that feeling didn't last long as your body started to cramp up again. You whimpered loudly, while clutching your stomach and struggling to breathe.
You struggled to sit up, as the cramps were somehow starting to get even worse. Bucky quickly put one arm behind your back, and held your hand in his, to help you sit up. You quietly thanked him before turning your gaze back down to the stain, and cursing silently, "I'm so sorry, bubba, I wasn't supposed to get my period yet. I didn't mean to ruin your sheets."
"Love, I'm not mad at you. You have nothing to be sorry about, it's okay. I'm sorry I had to wake you up but we've gotta get you cleaned up." Bucky kissed your forehead, before getting up and leaving the room.
He came back a few minutes later with some towels, a water bottle, and some ibuprofen. He handed you the ibuprofen first, which you gladly took before washing it down with some water. Then he helped you get up carefully, holding you gently in his arms as he lead you over to the bathroom. He put the towels down on the counter, then walked over to the shower to turn on the hot water.
"Alright, doll. You take as long as you need in there, okay? If you need anything, just shout and I'll come running. I'm just gonna go clean up in the room, okay?" Before you could even protest, he left the bathroom to take the sheets to the laundry.
You stepped out of the shower after a while, already starting to feel a bit better. You noticed Bucky had left a pair of his sweatpants and his favourite hoodie on the counter next to the towels. There was also a bag of supplies on the ground, with different feminine hygiene products, a heating pad, some painkillers you were definitely going to need later, and some other essentials. After drying yourself off with the towel, you got dressed quickly and decided to go check on Bucky.
You found him downstairs in the kitchen, pouring hot water into a cup. Walking over to him, you noticed a familiar sweet smell coming from the kitchen. That's when you noticed a fresh batch of his painfully-delicious pancakes sitting on the counter. You put your arms around his waist, pulling him closer to you. He turned around, and pulled you into his arms gently, being careful not to hug you too tight in case you still have cramps.
You helped him carry the pancakes and the tea over to the living room. You sat down in front of the TV and started flipping through the channels. Bucky picked up your fork, and started feeding you small bites as you settled on what show to watch. Eventually, breakfast was over and you were cuddled up on the couch watching titanic. You've only seen the movie once and you found the ending sad, but you never cry at the ending. Until today. It seemed like your body was determined to make you miserable today as you wiped the tears that were streaming down your face at a fast pace. You hoped Bucky wouldn't notice that you were crying, especially just because of a movie. You glanced over at him and noticed he was straight at you, and trying to stifle a laugh. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't contain his laughter anymore. He got up from the couch, still laughing, as you glared him.
"Screw you, Barnes, it's not funny!" You picked up a pillow from the couch and threw it at him, but it only made him laugh harder.
"I'm sorry, love, I couldn't help it!" He chuckled as he picked up the pillow and threw it back on the couch next to you. "I didn't think you were one to cry at movies like that. It wasn't like one glistening tear either, doll, you were nearly sobbing. Don't get me wrong though, it was adorable!"
"You jerk!" You picked up the pillow again and threw it at him but it missed him once again. As he bent over to pick the pillow back up, you picked up the remote this time, and launched it at him. Unfortunately, this time it actually hit him.
"Ow, what the-" He got up, rubbing the back of his head, "That actually hurt, doll, what was that?"
"The remote" You mumbled, trying not to laugh.
He glared at you before bending down to pick up the pillow and throw it back at you. Although he didn't mean to, he threw it pretty hard and it hit your stomach, right as the cramps decided to make a comeback. He quickly apologized and walked over to you to make sure you weren't hurt too bad.
"Just go get me the pain-killers, doofus." You mumbled, laying down sideways, clutching your lower abdomen.
He got up and made his way to the kitchen, still rubbing the spot at the back of his head, the one where you threw the remote at.
"Do you think it's bleeding? It feels like it's bleeding." Bucky groaned, as he continued to rub the back of his head, checking for any blood.
"Oh please, you're fine." You mumbled from the couch, clutching your lower abdomen while holding your breath as your cramps started to get worse.

Sandwiches
Summary: Dan’s delayed coming home from winter testing. Emmy’s in bed. Fluff.
March 2019
The flight from Barcelona to London wasn’t long, but Dan was exhausted. Two weeks of winter testing meant his brain was mush in a good way. The car felt good. Not great, but he was comfortable. He could work with comfortable. But then there was a delay so they were diverted to Gatwick and it was a pain getting through. But finally after far too long he was getting his bag and getting into the taxi with Blake.
Emmy hadn’t replied to his landed text so hopefully she was actually asleep for once. She never really slept when he was driving, even in testing when it was safe. But then they were in the taxi and he put his phone away so he didn’t smile stupidly at it and give everything away. Having his manager and one of his best mates living next door to his girl was awkward for so many reasons. Especially this one.
“Talk to you tomorrow, Mate? Well, today?” Blake asked and Dan shook his head.
“Day off? Weekend off, fuck it. When’s the next thing I actually have to do? Sim work, right?”
“Sim on Monday yeah.”
“Fuck it. We’re off this weekend. I’m gonna spend it sleeping and stretching.”
“See ya.”
The driver pulled back onto the road until Dan got him to stop beside the 24 hour shop. “Just here, thanks.”
“I thought you were out further?”
“My girl’s in his building and we’re keeping it quiet for now. We’re all friends.”
“Good luck.”
It was a ten minute wait to make sure Blake was actually in his place before Dan started the minute walk down the street. He spent the time productively and picked up a bouquet of flowers for Em. They’d very carefully ignored Valentines Day, unwilling to have that conversation and let his heart be broken if she didn’t feel the same way he did. So instead it was purple and yellow tulips that he had in his hand while he climbed the three sets of stairs to get to the tiny attic apartments.
Opening the front door by pushing in the one spot guaranteed not to squeak, the first thing he noticed was the chill in the air. A quick glance at the crap storage heaters showed they were supposed to be on, but there was no heat emitting from them. Fucking landlord too cheap to fix it even when Dan had called multiple times after Em had. She’d repeated the story about how the handyman taught her how to use the heaters instead of checking them one too many times, her “I was using them in uni halls and I was warmer then, Danny!” filling the air.
Sitting in the middle of the table was a beeswax wrap covered plate and a bottle of water. Pulling the wrap off he discovered the BLT sitting there on crusty bread. His girl always left him something if she was going to bed, crisp bacon and tomatoes that were well insulated to stop the bread going soggy making him so happy. This was home. The way no matter what was going on Em made sure to have a sandwich waiting for him to get back to her if he was due in at night. For the first time in too long there was someone who cared about him just because she liked him and that was magical.
He finished eating and took a swallow from the bottle before capping it and wrapping his arms around himself to keep the heat. It was quick to brush his teeth and run a cloth over his face to get the worst of the travel grime off. But finally he pushed open the bedroom door to see the best thing. His Emmy was curled up on the side of the bed he usually slept on, a black and yellow hoodie on to keep her warm in the March chill. Her arms were wrapped around the Jigglypuff plushie he’d bought for her in Japan the year before and she was so peaceful it nearly hurt him to have to get her to move. He pulled his clothes off quickly and pushed the starry night duvet out of the way so he could slip into the bed.
“I’m back, Emmy. It’s just me,” he murmured as her eyes opened and a grin spread across her sleepy face.
“Missed you.”
“Missed you too.” He kissed the top of her head as she curled up against his chest and tried to get comfy again. A moment later he felt her shuffle and watched as her hands moved her hoodie up.
“What’s up?”
“Wanna feel your skin. Know it’s you. I-“ She was cut off by a yawn. “The hoodie made me think you were Jigglypuff but I’m too sleepy.”
“I’ve got you. Hands up for a minute.” It took less than a minute for him to pull her hoodie off and throw it across the room, leaving her bare skin pushed against his as they curled under the blankets and got warm again.
“Nigh-night Danny. Tell me about testing tomorrow. We’ve got time.” Dan watched Em’s eyes close as she curled in tighter, their legs tangling together. They were flying to Australia in a couple of days to spend time in Perth before Melbourne and he couldn’t wait. It was two and a bit weeks that he got to spend almost entirely with Em curled up beside him with his family there. In the quiet of the night he could admit it to himself. He couldn’t wait to spend time at his home race with the woman he was in love with.

Pancakes Household: Chapter 9, Part 12
Time for Eliza's birthday!
Tumblr media
For reasons you'll soon read about her style change happens sporadically over this part
Tiana's thoughts will be in brackets for communication
Bob: She’s asleep, it took a while but she’s snoring now
Eliza: You do a good job with her Bob
Bob: I guess. I just feel like she deserves the world and I fall short
Eliza: Hey, you never fall short to me or our older kids. Tiana will be no different. That's just your gloomy side trying to throw you off. Now, care for some birthday celebration
Bob: But your birthday isn’t until tomorrow
Eliza: Is it? I guess I’ll go to bed by myself then
Bob: *laughs* No you don’t! Come back here, let me treat you
As normal Eliza doesn’t need much convincing to join her husband in bed.
Tumblr media
3:30am and Tiana wakes with a start. What is she doing here? This isn’t the crib it’s… the playmat? How did she get here? Sounds like a pile of poop to her. To emphasize this she poops her diaper in angry infant mode.
Eliza: Good morning Tiana. Mother's just come to check on you
Tiana: *coos in grumpy* (wakeup time is the worst, what's so great about being awake)
Eliza: Now I’m afraid daddy seems to have come down with Starey Eyes so it’ll be you and me against the world today
Tiana: *coos in still grumpy* (daddy was going to show me cooking)
Eliza: Hey there miss grump, you really don’t like wakeup time do you? I guess we’ll have to find something fun to do
Tumblr media
Eliza scoops up Tiana and blows a big raspberry on her tummy before carrying the grumpy infant to her ensuite. Tiana angrily fusses all the way but doesn't have enough coordination to flail out of Eliza's grip.
Eliza: Now Tiana this big thing is called a bath and here we have a seat, just for you. How about that
Tiana: *coos curiously* (is it comfy)
Eliza: Let’s take off your- oh you used your diaper, lovely
Tiana: *smiles* (it's warm in here, I think I'll pee)
Eliza nestles Tiana in the special infant seat and fills the tub with warm water and bubbles, constantly checking the temperature. Tiana smiles as Eliza tickles her nose and she tries to pat at the bubbles. When she is all clean Eliza gets her dressed and feeds her a bottle.
Tumblr media
Bob may be feeling awful but feels like he would be a failure as a chef if he can’t make his own wife a birthday cake. Despite his head screaming at him and generally feeling dizzy he goes through the motions of cake making, luckily all the past bakes help him do the process pretty quickly given the circumstances. Then he rings in to let his boss know he’s ill before adding candles and heading back to bed.
Tumblr media
Onyx: Happy Birthday mother! I thought you were going to have a party
Eliza: Your dad isn’t well so I decided to cancel
Onyx: Make a wish mother
Eliza: *laughs* okay, here goes
Adulthood has reached Eliza! In celebration Tiana grabs her feet for the first time and Onyx gives Strawberry a loving pat.
Eliza: Good luck for the exams
Onyx: Thank mother but I don’t need luck, I studied
Eliza: That’s my kid!
Onyx: See you after school Tiana
Tiana: *coos questioningly* (where is sibling going, sibling not leave me) *cries*
Tumblr media
Eliza: Oh Tiana, it's alright. Onyx will be back later, yes they will
Tiana: *sniffles* (mother promise?)
Eliza works on some tummy time with Tiana who learns how to roll onto her back! Strawberry is impressed. Eliza settles the infant on the mat for a nap and goes to grab a late breakfast. She eats it on the couch while talking to the dogs. Not the birthday she imagined, but one that she doesn’t mind. Hopefully all this time at home will help her be full of energy when she returns back to work.
Tumblr media
Eliza is happy to spend the main part of the day cleaning while Bob rests up. Once Tiana has finished her nap Eliza begins a dance workout. Soon enough she has to stop however as Tiana has begun to sparkle while she plays with her toys.
Eliza: Are you going to have a milestone honey
Tiana: *giggles and coos* (I am mother so you don't need to trade me)
Eliza: You’re laughing! Oh that’s adorable! Daddy will be impressed, yes he will
Excited at her daughter’s progress Eliza decides to give a game of peek-a-boo a go. Unfortunately Tiana worries her mother has disappeared and bursts into tears.
Tiana: *cries* (Mother is gone! Why did she leave me! Did I do something wrong? I was trying hard for her and daddy)
Tumblr media
Eliza: Oh I’m sorry! Mother is here, mother is here
Tiana: *sniffles and coos* (promise to never leave me again mother)
Eliza scoops Tiana in her arms and cuddles the infant close until she stops sniffling. The pair are practicing sitting when Onyx and Fergus arrive home.
Eliza: How was the aquarium
Fergus: Fine, I've got homework. See you and Tiana later
Tiana: *coos and wobbles* (so this is sit)
Onyx: Mother, great news, I aced my exams! Again! Can we maybe talk about getting a horse now
Eliza: That’s it Tiana, keep your head up. Oh I don’t know Onyx, the household is pretty full
Onyx: But mother-
Eliza: Darling if you look outside does it even look like we have room for a horse
Onyx: *points* Yes it- OMG MOTHER
Eliza: Oh dear Tiana, your sibling is pretty loud when they want to be
Tiana: *giggles* (Onyx is funny)
Tumblr media
With a chorus of thank you’s over their shoulder Onyx races outside where they spotted the foal Eliza had purchased for them.
Onyx: Oh you are pretty. What shall I call you? Hmm, I know, Maelstrom! Yeah, that’s a good name
Maelstrom: *neighs* Hi
Onyx: Oh how rude of me, are you hungry? Do you want some milk
Maelstrom eagerly grips on to the bottle Onyx holds for her and guzzles away.
Onyx: You know, I wanted a horse but a foal is even better. Now we get to spend more time together! I know I have cheer and school and stuff but I’ll be your best friend, I promise
Maelstrom: *neighs* sounds good to me
Tumblr media
The foal spent the evening running around the property having a good time. Unfortunately the exploring took its toll and Maelstrom began to feel scared. Hearing the change in general noises from their bedroom Onyx went to comfort their new foal. Maelstrom was skittish from the new big world but with love and affection returned to being happy. Looks like Onyx is a natural.
Tumblr media
And at midnight Bob felt well enough to put in some dad time. After giving Tiana a cuddle he knelt down and practiced sitting with her.
Bob: And up we go, how is that huh
Tiana: *giggles* (I up for daddy)
Bob: Who’s the cutest infant in the world? Is it you? Is it you sitting
Tiana: *giggles* (I am cute)
Bob: Alright and back down we go. Wait, what are you doing honey? Eliza!
Eliza comes rushing into the nursery in time to see Tiana roll from her back to her tummy all by herself. Bob is overjoyed and Eliza gives Tiana a snuggle, telling her how proud they are.
Tumblr media
That’s it for this chapter of the Pancakes. With 3 new additions (4 if you count the dust bunny) the household is now running at maximum size. I didn't get as much done with the teens as I had planned but hey, can't make real life not happen. Thanks for your patience and support readers!

Mushy May Day Twenty-One - Can't Stop Laughing
Notes: After a rough day of touring everyone is in a foul mood. Who knew a flock of ducks would be the thing to cure it? Prompt list by @forlorn-crows. See prompt list here
Word Count: 480
Read on AO3 or below the cut
It’s one of those days on tour. The type that drags on and on and is still not over yet. The type where everything that could go wrong does. And maybe it’s not as bad as all that. There have truly been only a few minor inconveniences: construction on their way to the venue making them slightly late, the catering company arriving even later, inexplicable equipment issues that only got solved at the last minute.
The ritual went great, all things considered, but everyone is on edge. By the time they finally head backstage after bows everyone, ghoul and roadies alike collapse where they are. Water bottle provided by the thankfully sympathetic venue staff help to get everyone back on their feet and packed up but the foul mood hanging in the air is still like a ticking time bomb.
The ghouls and Copia have piled into their bus. The ride is silent, everyone too annoyed and tired to attempt small talk and risk setting each other off. They’re headed to the hotel and more than ready to collapse when the bus suddenly slams on the breaks. It’s sudden enough to be jarring, sending a couple ghouls hissing and the rest grumbling. The grumbles turn to confused murmurs as the bus stays still and then the engine cuts off.
Copia walks up front to talk to the driver while the ghouls impatiently glare out the windows. When Copia returns he sighs and rubs a hand over his face.
“I’m sorry my ghouls. We had to stop because there's a bunch of ducks in the road.”
Eight pairs of eyes blink back at him in confusion.
“Ducks?” Cirrus asks, unimpressed.
“Sì. Quite a few of them…” Copia trails off as someone starts to giggle. “Eh, Dew are you alright?”
Everyone looks towards Dewdrop who is indeed laughing, his shoulders shaking in mirth.
“After everything today it had to be fucking ducks.”
That sets everyone else off and they all start laughing at the absurdity of it all.
Copia catches his breath enough to say he’s going to ask the driver how long it will be but then Aurora and Phantom exclaim in sync that they want to go pet the ducks and everyone is laughing again.
Copia convinces them to stay on the bus but lets them come to the driver’s cabin to see the ducks which of course spurs on everyone else to want to see them too. By this point the ducks are out of the road and swimming is a small pond by the side but everyone has to have a turn sticking their head out the window to look at the ducks before they’re able to get back on the move.
They eventually do, the mood now much lighter. They get back to the hotel without any more issues and happily collapse. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I don't know why but I felt absolutely horrible for most of today. It honestly scares me. Like I just want everything to be okay in my body. I want the person I'm growing to be okay. But I feel horrible so I am also just scared. We go to the doctor tomorrow so hopefully they can give me some answers or comfort?
Most of today was still good. I tried to push through how bad I felt to enjoy my day with James.
I didn't sleep good. I almost threw up a few times last night and hurt my throat. When James got back they tried to take care of me but I was just really upset. It wasn't fun.
I woke up a lot. And when I woke up this morning I just did not feel good. I would get up and took a shower and tried to feel better.
I really liked my outfit. James would come lay with me for a little bit. Helped me chose shoes and I chose these orange loafers because I need to break them in and we had a few minutes of laughing and being silly trying to get them on my feet. They actually would be really comfortable but would cause a blister on my left foot. Ouchie.
We decided we would go to breakfast at a pancake house we haven't ever been too. And then we would go to the zoo. Then errands. And even though it was a little rainy and drizzly it would actually be a really nice time.
The pancake house has terrible vibes. It was very classy formerly a club? The layout was very bad. But the food was actually really good. James got a coconut waffle and I got avocado toast. My only bad thing was the soda was a bottle and not a fountain soda but I lived. And I really enjoyed my breakfast.
We were overhearing the conversation next to us. About a tattoo shop and James didn't say anything until we left but one of them was a football player??? Neat!
After brunch we drove over to the zoo. And I'm so glad we went today. We had umbrellas but we barely needed them. The drizzle was pleasent. And we got to see so many amazing behaviors from the animals!
We were mainly there to see the otter, Nora, before she moved to Virginia. But we saw so many other great things.
We started with the penguins. The volunteer over there chatted to us about the BMI and how he wants to donate some neat stuff he has. And then we meet inside the penguin building and one of the penguins was in the water and I was running back and forth with him. It was great.
The flamingos were fighting?? Just yelling at eachother. So many animals were out and about and it was awesome.
At the monkey house we got to see so many chimps up close. And at one point they all yelled and the two babies went to their mom's to breast feed?? It was so special to see that.
We were surprised how many squirrels were in the outside lemer enclosures eating their food and the lemers looked so concerned.
When we did finally make it over to the otters we had to run back and forth to catch them but finally one of them swam up to the tank and twisted around and it was an amazing encounter. Just so wonderful. I felt really lucky. And I was excited that James got to see them. They love the otters.
I was losing a little steam. But I held it together. My stomach was not feeling good but I was still having fun.
I liked seeing the snakes and frogs and bats. We went to look at the goats and pigs and alpacas. And then we decided that we had seen just about everything and headed out.
The walk out was a little hard on me because it is uphill. And the rain had picked up. But James held an umbrella over me and called me a princess. I love them so much.
We got out of there after stopping at the gift shop. Didn't get anything. But we did stop at the big sign outside when another couple asked us to take a picture and they took ours. It was very sweet.
Another couple asked us if it was a good time in the parking lot and we told them to make sure they go see the otters. And then we were off again.
My feet hurt very bad. I kept my shoes off in the car. We had made a pretty solid list for target. And when we got there we did a pretty good job just sticking to that list. Some toiletries. Some food. Some hangers for James's hats. I was starting to not be able to hold it together anymore. My stomach isn't hurt to much. It was time to go home.
When we got back here we brought everything inside and I came upstairs to lay down. James would bring me some candy. But soon I was fast asleep.
I woke up not feeling much better. Eating dinner would help a little. But I was just absolutely feeling bad today. James would hold me and try their best to help. I would get very upset with them later when I was asking for something and they weren't understanding and then I felt really bad for getting so mad.
I would take a bath. And it helped a little bit I still don't feel good. I really hope tomorrow they can give me something or at least reassure me that I just have to power through.
I'm going to go brush my teeth and try and sip water. And hopefully fall asleep easy.
My appointment is first thing in the morning. I am not going to lie. I'm very scared that something is wrong. But I really hope that it's a positive appointment. Send me good thoughts. I love you all. Good night!

Is it lights out yet?
Tumblr media
Yes, it’s Albert. No, that’s not his usual hair style. He had a rough day. We both did. He spent it “On Alert”. I spent it sick with a rather rotten bout of POTS. (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome for those not familiar with the alphabet soup 😁) Dusty would alert any time my heart rate was elevated. Mostly this was helpful. Though him having a fuss because you’re vacuuming and moving furniture wasn’t all that helpful at times. He was sweet and caring but I really don’t think he could tell the difference between the two.
Then comes Albert. And when I’ve said he’s scary smart, I don’t mean rabbit smart. I mean I’ve had him a little over two months. I haven’t even started to work on medical alert skills yet. We are working on basic communication commands. We’re throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. He’s mostly gotten the marked ones at 50% or better:
Hungry? *
Dinner *
Munchies (various greens) *
Water *
Treat *
Back up *
Stay *
Stand up (for a treat) *
Stay *
House in *
House out
(Giving his world names from various toys and the door to his house he likes to swing when out to the fence of his playground and his tunnel and even his stuffy George.)
(Learning that to make humans move we don’t bite their feet!) *
As you can see, communication goes both ways! When he’s out, I feel like an auctioneer for about the first fifteen minutes he’s out as I name everything he touches with his nose. Then my voice gives out.
Today was the fourth—yes fourth—time he’s given an alert. The first time I wasn’t really sure what he was saying. The second time took quite a while to connect. The third time was a moment of hmm let’s watch this. Well it’s certain. Albert isn’t identifying a heart rate. He’s identifying when my salt levels are off!
People with POTS have difficulty maintaining proper salt and liquid balances. I always joke that everyone has a super power, just some are really dumb. Mine is the ability to drink about 40 ounces of liquid in five minutes flat. And not get sick from it. Can’t get blood from my arm? I can fix that! Just wait five minutes and try again.
It took two salt pills (Vitassium), a medium bottle of Gatorade (not the gallon one), and two bags of popcorn over the course of the day to finally balance it. Oh and Gatorade when you can’t taste the salt in it tastes seriously nasty!!! And if that sounds like a lot of salt. It is. And because I hate Gatorade there’s lots of tea too.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better! (And I haven’t even been out in the stupid heat dome centered over my stupid state!).

I'm lowkey disappointed in myself because i've been snacking around the whole day but atleast all i've eaten was cucumber, paprika, cream cheese and hummus. Also i had coffee and i'm actually feeling okay rn. I almost finished my 1.5L water bottle, took my meds, worked out, cleaned up and showered so ig today was very productive but i feel a small relapse coming up and i LOVE IT. Hopefully i'll finally lose weight and tomorrow i'm less than 58,9kg. Wish me luck i'm trying my best.

Digital diary 2024.11.30.
Today was exhausting. I had a math exam that i wasn't too prepared for, my mum didn't closed the lid on my water bottle and my notebooks and tissue papers got wet. Thankfully i didn't bring my phone and there was a radiator i could dry my stuff on. I finished the exam my notebooks are a bit bend but, they are dry. At home thinks weren't any better. I thought my cat Pici died (he was) but, wasn't his usual self. He doesn't have any visible scars but, he is acting cold and distant. My dad gave him milk to make get a bad stuff out of his body. Hopefully he will litter and gets back to his warm, friendly self. The baby chickens are almost but, they are still chirping all the time. I think one of them is a rooster and other is a chicken. My mom made pancakes. We did some prize winning games. I asked her if, she could take me to see Wicked (if, it comes out) because, she didn't want to see it with me and my aren't into musical or non-hyper masculine things. Wicked will premier on December 5. in another county, but, i don't know when will Wicked come out to the cinema close to me. I wrote two pages but, i will maybe drew a bit today too. Tomorrow i pack up for literature/grammar class and watch Édes Anna again or read about it.
Feeling: A bit exhausted 🫠

I MISSED YOU TOO BAKERY ANON !! i’ve been okay !! just going to school and work so nothing that exciting, just very busy busy so i’ve only really been online during night BUT it’s helping me decrease my screentime so it’s kind of good!!(but i do miss being chronically online with everyone else<//3
i’m sorry things have been stressful for you, i’m manifesting better days for you right now :(( things might seem hard now but they’re going to get better eventually! it sucks that your chef keeps taking away your class time from you but hopefully you’re able to catch up eventually. take things one day at a time and everything will be okay <3333 something that helps me organize a bit when i’m stressed is to write it down in my memo pad so that i can visually see the things i need to do, and !! crossing things out seem so rewarding so i get a bit more motivated to push myself a bit! (BUT don’t push yourself too hard bug please just prioritize yourself over anything <333) i also hope your english teacher is lenient and understanding of your situation, if it gets too much though i definitely suggest just talking to them just so that they can be a bit more understanding of you being behind in everything
IM GLAD YOURE ABLE TO STAY HOME TOMORROW YIPPPE!!! take all the rest you need and cool down! your week sounds so so stressful right now so it’s definitely good to take time for yourself!! <33333 i hope your day tomorrow is better than today, i wish i could literally fly over to you and take some burden off of your hands </3333 (im NOT a good baker nor am i really a writer but i will try!!) but it sounds like you have a good support system with you so im really glad for that <33333 cheeseburger macaroni actually sounds good and interesting?? i’ve never tried it heard of that before!! but comfort meals are always the best!!

I’m still chronically online but not like how I was over the summer </333 I hope work and school let up a little bit so you can relax and have some free time soon <333
I’m manifesting good days for you too mango anon <3 you deserve only the best in life. I’m hoping I’ll be able to catch up on everything tomorrow 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ after much needed sleep. I literally came home and slept from like 3-9:30 and almost just went back to sleep. Instead I made myself food and now I’m awake lol. My motivation is complaining to my friends about things I need to do and them going “okay so do it.” (In a loving way). I’m gonna try my best not to push myself too hard!!! Yeah, my English teacher is pretty lenient. He doesn’t really take points off for late assignments but I keep forgetting to turn my stuff in bcs you have to email it to him instead of there being like a “submit” button or anything. He’s chill. Slowly but surely I’m catching up to where I need to be in my classes.
My mother giving me Mother Mandated Mental Health Days is my saving grace during the school year. I drag myself upstairs and she goes “mental health day tomorrow?” And I nod my head and go to sleep. I’m gonna sleep so much tomorrow omg- I thought about going to school but I’m just so tired </3 come on over!!! I’ll make you fruit bars and we can have a game night!!! <3333 I usually stress bake but we don’t have anything at home to bake so </3 one day very soon I will stress bake. Cheeseburger macaroni is as it sounds! Macaroni with hamburger in it. We get the Hamburger Helper but I also like doing it with velveeta Mac n Cheese. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Yes cheers 🥂 (<- fizzy apple juice) finishing off my water bottle right now and about to get another one. Awww <333 I’ll read your rants or rambles anytime too <333 ooh!!! That sounds so good!!! Pretzels my beloveds <333 I hope you enjoy your snack <3 I LOVE YOU TOO MANGO ANON <33333 also bro, what do you mean message is too long??? Do you see my replies to you??? /lh Yap sessions are never too long (tumblr cuts off DM messages at like 747 words </3) but yap all you want. I will happily respond, yapping is my favorite pastime. Manifesting good days for you too <3 I’m getting better about being nice to myself! You make sure to be kind to yourself too mango anon! We all love you so much!!! <3 Thank you for thinking I’m kind and warm, I’m legit gonna think about that forever now thanks <3
You’re so beach coded omg. Sorry, I really like the beach so you remind me of the beach. It’s a calming place for me like the waves and the sand and stuff. Idk you just remind me of the beach and like hunting for seashells. Thank you for checking in everyone and continuing to be a positive presence in everyone’s askbox. I love you mango anon, please take care of yourself too <333 and you’re welcome anytime in my inbox so feel free to send an ask in whenever! <33

September 1, 2024
The first day of September, and a Sunday.
I'm not really sure why I haven't been journaling as much. I wonder if it's because life has calmed down somewhat. i currently have no crush, no awful work drama, and no dog to foster/dogsit.
this weekend (i'll start from yesterday) has been pretty chill but also pretty productive.
saturday, i met up with lana, sov, and matt k at a pickleball court in altadena. we were awful, me especially, but we had a good time playing pickleball. afterward, matt and i got brunch at a cute spot in altadena, and i went home for a bit before heading out again for volunteering at the VBA's, half poop patrol, and half socializing.
This morning church was out of session as it's Labor Day weekend and i met up at the VBAs again, this time to join the "Happy Tails" hike, where I carried water bottles, filled doggy water bowls, and scooped up 4 large poops. it was nice to be out hiking, taking in some Burbank views, chatting with people, and seeing how happy the dogs were to be out of the kennel.
the rest of today has so far been pretty chill. I did some dishes, took out some trash and recycling, put up the new blinds and threw out the old ones, and took out some of marilyn's yard waste. i also watched some Brooklyn 99, which has been really funny and I've found myself on two separate occasions literally booming with laughter, even though i only half-watch as I play dumb games on my phone at the same time.
other things that have brought me a sense of joy/peace: listening to music i liked earlier. a newfound "discovery" and appreciation of kim gun mo. back to listening to The Read podcast and during a walk, which I haven't taken in a long time. reading. currently reading Love in the Time of Cholera and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people alternately.
i just feel calmer, less desperate. i'm not texting grace y constantly to see how she is, in a sense, to see how "we" are. i don't go to BJ's as often to drink and stare at the waitress who i will never date or have anything to do with. i eat fewer pounds of pasta at one time, and today, i've eaten on fruit and am planning on eating another. i've also been very recently watching less Youtube, whereas before i watched for literal hours a day and would fall asleep to it, mostly the "downfalls" of celebrities, whether real or of the youtube/tiktok variety.
this friday-monday i'll be going to portland with lana, and my birthday will be later in the month. i have currently no plans but will likely get sushi with lana, and treat myself to a massage, especially as my left shoulder has been especially stiff.
things feel weird with lorena, grace y, and especially ant, and i'm just about completely estranged from grace h at this point, but it's fine. it's not pulling at me today, although it was about two days ago. i'm trying to separate myself a bit from my feelings, and trying to have it have less of an affect on me.
tomorrow is the labor day holiday. i'm supposed to take a morning walk with my mom, and then LD will come over with her dog and we'll make firestarters for camping and then hang out for a bit, as kaelynn is likely out of town, having just started a job that puts her every week in san francisco.
on occasional i also read a book about Borderline Personality disorder to learn more about it and hopefully pick up some tools to not let it control me.
things i want to look into more in lieu of endless youtube: pickleball: rules and techniques yelp: engaging enough to get 2024 elite status things to do in portland
hoping this feeling lasts.

6/26/24
I saw a pain dr yesterday. The office was super fancy. I felt a little awkward, but the provider was very nice and did a good exam.
Yesterday I had a killer migraine toward the end of the day. Yay for migraine medication.
I also didn’t vomit yesterday, which is a win.
I’m still waiting on the pharmacy to fill my nausea syrup. I should call ask wtf? (Just called it didn’t come in the shipment yesterday, they said the soonest it would be there is Friday if it shows up. 🙁)
Tumblr media
My gf made some peanut butter oatmeal cookie dough, so I baked some today. They are yummy. I forgot to press down the first batch.
I woke up with sore elbows, which maybe cause the dr manipulated them yesterday. Tramadol is taking care of it.
Sunday was hydration day, so my stores was having a sale of all water bottles $24.99 and less for $6. I got a new one for less than $5 cause I got an employee discount. I’m drinking more water cause of it. I’ve also discovered my pouch doesn’t like plain water, but I found Gatorade packets that are sugar free and my pouch loves them. I do live in Az so I need to stay hydrated.
Tumblr media
My gf ordered me vomit bags off of amazon. I’m glad for those actually I can keep them in my purse too.
I have to admit the new powder I’m taking and the Reglan are helping, I can handle more stuff. I wish I could take the reglan with every meal instead of twice a day. I don’t see the GI doctor till October now. They scheduled it for me, which is fine with me.
I have to admit I sometimes wonder if IVIG infusion weekly instead of every two weeks would help me. If I did it weekly I would probably start doing it at home. I mean I already have Tony (that’s my port).
I was thinking today if my stomach stuff gets worse will I need iv feeding through my port? I know some of my conditions will get worse, like my RA and my autoimmune disease. But will I figure out how to deal with and treat my nausea and vomiting. I maybe cause I’ve had two stomach surgeries. I sometimes wonder if it would be easier to just get my fluids via Tony. Then I won’t have to worry about if it will make me sick. I consider it a win if I don’t vomit that day. And it may happen today.
My behavioral clinic called me today. Saying I have to get labs done. I live over an hr away. I don’t wanna go there just for blood draws. They filled all my meds.
I have 8 meds at the pharmacy waiting to be picked up. I will get them tomorrow, when I go shopping.
I think I will vomit today, but stomach is hurting and I’m making a lot of saliva. Vomit bucket ready. Do I take another Zofran and risk getting more nauseous. (I’m taking one the sick feeling is starting to subside, but hopefully this don’t make me more sick. It some times does).
I just took some more tramadol. I’m starting to feel pain.
I’m also a little upset cause I want my nausea syrup.

Wreckless - Barbeque and Smores

Emmett
When I get back, Finnegan is sound asleep on the couch, one arm hanging off and the blanket all askew.
He's not just napping, he's sleeping hard.
I'm halfway though putting the groceries away, not that there are all that many, when I hear 'Quincy' coming from upstairs.
Rhys.
Quincy is outside so I give him little shout and he heads upstairs.
When the groceries are done there are two very sleepy boys on the couch.
I sit and pull Finnegan against me.
"Wanna go upstairs and nap awhile longer?"
He obviously needs it.
Rhys hears and answers with a sharp
"No," that cracks me up.
Finnegan doesn't answer, just buries his head against my chest and closes his eyes.
Two minutes later, Rhys and Quincy are up and outside and Finnegan may actually be asleep.
"Darling?"
"Need another minute please."
His words are heavy with sleep and a bit slurred, I can tell he's groggy.
"Sure."
I'm happy to sit here and hold him for lots of minutes.
We hear a big splash and that rouses Finn.
"Pool," he mumbles.
"Yeah but you've got all afternoon. There's no rush."
I wonder how washable those markers are and if Rhys will soon only be decorated with freckles again.
They're adorable but he may be upset to lose his colorful sleeve.
I've decided to get a shell along with Finn if he goes tomorrow.
It just feels right.
"Okay. Thank you, Em. Sorry I'm so out of it."
"Just be careful, I'll be out soon."
He's perched on a chaise when I make my way out and drinks about half of his big cup in one go.
I'm pretty sure he's a bit dehydrated.
It's probably contributing to his lethargy and I need to make sure he drinks plenty this afternoon.
He's not used to getting so much sun and it's really hot today.
"Rhys is a great diver."
Finnegan is staring at him wide-eyed.
I noticed at the beach the other day but he's right, he is.
He's doing some really cool twists even though we don't have a diving board.
He just runs about four steps, leaps a bit higher than seems possible and hits the water in all kinds of cool ways.
"Where'd he learn to do that?" I ask Quincy.
"He dove in college. He was an NCAA champion one year, weren't you, bunny?"
"Yeah, like to dive," he says, panting as he pulls himself to the edge.
No wonder the boy naps.
I need one just watching him.
I hand Finnegan his bottle again and he sips it.
I need to offer it to him more often.
"Hey Emmett, find everything at the store?" Quincy asks.
He specifically requested some spare ribs and I know that's what he's wondering about.
"We're all set. Hamburgers, hotdogs and spare-ribs. I got macaroni salad and some chips too, plus some strawberries and grapes. And for the grand finale... stuff for smores."
I also took Quincy's advice and found Finnegan a travel coffee mug so that he can drink coffee without an open mug.
It's Rehoboth beach themed so more fun than a normal one and hopefully it'll help keep him in headspace on mornings he wants or desperately needs, coffee.
Rhys shouts
"Yay," and Finn smiles at me.
"Nice Emmett, we're set. Thanks. What time do you want to eat?"
Rhys says 'Now' but Quincy just rolls his eyes at him.
"Are you hungry yet Finn?"
"No, wanna swim first. Maybe later," he says and that's that, Finn is awake and ready to go.
He runs over, grabs the beach ball and jumps into the pool much less gracefully than Rhys does.
Water splashes everywhere.
"They may charge you to refill the pool," Quincy teases.
He goes in and comes out with a beer for each of us that he brought over earlier.
It's one I haven't had before and is really nice.
"Thanks."
"Least I could do, man. Nice of you to let us stay. Rhys is over the moon that he gets another night and I'm not hating it either," he teases.
"Monday comes soon enough and I'll be back at it."
"I know what you mean. Hope this heat breaks, working outside in this is no fun."
"Eh, it's better than when it's cold. We start early in the spring and some days, when it's 35 or 40, your hands get so cold that you can't hold the damn nails. I'll take hot any day, especially since I'm the boss and can come up with some errand to run that involves AC."
He's so funny.
He seems very real and those are the kind of people I do best with.
I don't do well with pretentious, nose in the air folks.
I hope Finnegan's parents are okay.
At least it's on a computer so worst case, we may have some technical problems.
I'll have to set up a code word with Finnegan ahead of time.
I decide to take a swim and the boys gang up on me, each has a water gun and they're squirting me like crazy.
I don't mind but they think it's the funniest thing in the world and are laughing their faces off.
It's a very good way to spend an hour.
Quincy fires up the grill and we eat one of the best meals I've had in months.
He's a pro and after dinner, I regret not asking him for some tips or watching while he cooked.
Maybe he'll take pity on me sometime this fall and we can go to their place for a Barbecue lesson.
Afterwards we have s'mores.
I haven't had one in years but they had a big display set up at the grocery store so I was forced to grab marshmallows and graham crackers.
I figured two littles might enjoy them and I was right.
They're roasting marshmallows by the dozen, it seems and keep feeding them to Quincy and I.
I've had three s'mores and three more marshmallows and I think Quincy has had even more.
I'm ashamed but also not because they were good.
Finn has chocolate in the corner of his mouth so I pull him down onto my lap and help clean him up before declaring that I can't eat another single thing.
The boys are almost as full as we are and decide to float around on the rafts instead of swim.
They're playing a game that involves when they can and can't push off the wall.
Apparently there is no paddling allowed and they're trying to chase each other.
'It's a very slow pursuit... trivial, even... I crack myself up.'
Eventually Quincy declares that it's time for Rhys to get ready for bed.
It goes as well as you can expect and by the time they're heading in, Finn and I decide to go in too.
I straighten up the kitchen and living room a bit and as we turn to go up the stairs it is obvious that those two are going at it.
Finn smiles at me and races up.
I decide right then and there to play with his voyeuristic streak a little bit.

Today was a pretty awesome day. Honestly I don't have too many complaints except I was tired and it was hot. A lot of today was great.
I fell asleep really fast last night which was really nice. And I wish I got to sleep longer but I was pretty well rested. But I was very tired when I got up. I woke up at 7:15 and I did not want to get out of bed at all but I knew I had to. Last week Ann had said I didn't have to come this week if it was too hot if I didn't want to but then she texted me yesterday that she wasn't feeling well and that she was wondering if I would take over today and of course I said yes because I care about her and I want to make sure that the market is going well. And so I got up and I got dressed and I wore this jumpsuit which is great except for some reason even though usually women's clothings have fake buttons this one all the buttons down the front are real and it gaps like crazy so 5 seconds before we needed to leave I took the whole thing off and I ran it through the sewing machine. I did not change the thread on the sewing machine so there's just black stitching going down the front now. I'm going to rip it out at some point and put something that matches a little bit better but it has to be sewn down or it would drive me insane. And I really like this jumpsuit so I want to make it work.
I was not in the best place emotionally because I was so tired. But James got us out the door only a few minutes late and we didn't forget anything which was nice. We stopped for breakfast and everyone who was working in the McDonald's was literally a teenager and was so confused at every question and it was a little funny. But we got our food and it was fine even though the hash brown was a weird shape. And then we were at the market.
James helped me set up. It was already very hot and Anne was not feeling great and was going to be leaving by 9:00. But she stayed for setup and everything was going okay. No big disasters. No one being terribly annoying with their vehicles. I got all set up and then I just started knitting.
And I would finish my ball of yarn. I still need six more squares to finish the whole thing. So hopefully I'll have that done tomorrow and then I can start sewing the rows together. And I'm really excited. Just think the gradient looks very cool and I'm excited for this project to be done and to start working on my next one. I have no idea what that next one will be but I'm excited.
And I'm surprised at how good I did today at the market. Because I was not feeling it. I tried my best to stand because I always do better when I stand. I don't know why that is but standing up makes me sell more things. And people were really nice and I had some really nice interactions. A child from last year and the year before, Rosie, who had bought a bear and named it Farmer Bear, came back for the first time this season and I was so excited to see her because she's going to be turning four next month and her mom and her dad and her little brother and it was just so nice to see them. And while she wanted to buy the other bear that matches her farmer bear, except farmer beer has a pink nose and this one has a black nose, mom said no bears this time. Which is understandable. Instead they bought a sticker and she's going to put on her water bottle for her first day of school and I could cry that's so cute.
And I also had that nice family that always comes and buys things from me bring two of my frogs back that needed slight repairs. They tried to pay me for it but it took me literally 2 minutes to resew the legs So I said it's fine and then they bought four stickers anyway. I really appreciate how much they support me and they made my day very bright by telling me how much they love the things I make.
It was very hot though and all of us were suffering. And we decided that we would close the market early at noon. Bob came out and we had a really nice long chat about metal casting and getting sunburns from welding and just he's such a nice guy. I used to be so intimidated by him but I think he's great. Though he did get upset with me later in the day when he found out we were closing early and I didn't tell him. But I thought he was standing right there when we had the conversation so I feel bad. But it's not my fault!
I'm just glad he still was able to come out and get his lunch before everyone closed up.
James did come out to get baked goods with me. I got my peanut butter pie and a caramel brownie which is excellent. And James got a couple donuts and a cheesecake bar and a key lime pie for liter this week. And eventually they would go and buy a burger from the food truck because apparently they promised on Thursday that they would buy lunch there with them today.
And James said it was really good.
One of the other really nice interactions I had was towards the end when a family came by, a white woman and an Indian man, and then all of their parents. And the white woman picked up one of my bears and was gushing about how it reminded her of her and her brother's childhood toy and she loved it so much but she couldn't decide which one was the closest. So I told her go for a walk do the loop come back. And she did and when she came back her mom was with her and she showed her at her mom was like oh my god it does look like your guys's toy, who was named lammy and Barry. And then the husband was like I'll buy it for you and so I was like okay but then all of a sudden his mom throws her credit card at me and she's like I'm going to buy it for my daughter, her daughter-in-law which was so cute. And then the Indian guys dad who had an amazing turban on goes hey you're only supposed to swipe your credit card 30 times a month! And she said more like 30 times a minute lol! And it was so silly. And it was just such a sweet interaction and I just really loved it.
And then I had someone buy three bears from me for their nieces and nephews and that was great. And I was just having such a nice day and people were great and I was very happy even though it was incredibly hot.
The other real problem was that it wasn't super hot in the pavilion. We were getting a really good breeze. It was warm but it wasn't unbearable but as soon as you left the pavilion It was like so hot that I was worried for everyone in the parking lot even though they were under tents. Like it was painful. The wind though was keeping us cool in the pavilion but was also knocking everything over. I kept having to chase papers and then my stuff was going everywhere and I had to put some stuff away because they just would not stay still. And honestly it made me so tired. I was pretty okay until I had to start running around.
So I was really really happy when noon came around. I took my time putting things away. Jose came over and told me I could take peaches because he had a bunch of leftover. And then Helen gave me a bouquet of flowers to say thank you for introducing her to CJ. And it was just so beautiful and everyone was so kind today. Just a lovely group of people.
After I packed up I went inside to sit with James and give them a break so they could run to the bathroom. And I talked to Deborah who I haven't seen in a while and it was nice to see her. And then I decided that everyone was packed up enough outside by 12:30 that I could leave.
I went outside to tell Stanley that I was heading out and told him not to tattle on me that I was leaving a half an hour early and he said he didn't see anything. And then I left. And I was so happy to go home.
On my way home there was so much traffic in the opposite direction on MLK because of the baseball game tonight so I made sure to note that so when I came back for James at 4:00 I would go a different way. And then I saw a guy asking for change and I gave him one of the peaches after asking if he would like one. And he got the biggest smile on his face and he was like Yes I absolutely would love a peach. And it was just very nice and he had such a nice smile. I hope he's doing okay.
I got home and I brought everything inside and I put things in the fridge. I had bought guacamole again and was very excited to eat that later. I cut the bottoms of the flowers and I broke the bouquet in half because we were going to go to Jessie's graduation party tonight and I would give her half the flowers. And then I took a quick shower and changed and got in bed and slept for almost 2 hours.
When I woke up I was so delirious and so sad that I had to get up. I did not want to go to this graduation party I did not want to drive I was so upset but I made promises and so I had to make it happen. And so I went and had some of that guacamole and a little bit of my brownie and then drank a whole lot of water and headed out.
I had to drive through the city and while there was no traffic people were driving so stupid and I had to be so aggressive to deal with them. And I hate being an aggressive driver but I am also very good at it. And so I was trying not to scream at people and swerve my car around other cars but I safely and in one piece made it to the museum before 4:00.
I got James and switch seats so that they could drive and then we went to Jessie's gathering.
The sky looked very dark for having a 0% chance of rain. And almost immediately after we parked the sky opened up and it stormed for about a half an hour very hard. But we were safely inside and honestly it was a really nice little time. We were only there for about an hour But it was really good. When we got there they were just about to do toasts and little speeches for Jessie and the other graduate, Edgar, and it was really nice and everyone was really sweet and just clearly cared about them both so much. And when they asked if anybody else had anything to say if something was on their heart I was like hey I know I don't know any of you and none of you know me but walking in the space just feels like it's filled with so much love and that's just very lovely and I'm glad that all of you are friends and we were all joking for the next hour about how I just wandered and off the street because I didn't know anybody. But it was really cute and I just loved listening to it and honestly because I'm so emotional right now I could have cried a few times because they were being so sweet to each other but it was really nice.
And then somebody brought ice cream so I got to have an ice cream cone and there was watermelon. There was also a feta orzo salad that I was coveting but I did not have any of because I didn't really want to eat any more salty food but I love federal orso salad so I told James that and they said they will make something for me.
And I did get to talk to a couple people and make a couple little friends. And I'm at another non-binary James and had a lovely conversation with them and I got to talk about camp and a couple other like goofy things about kids being super out and LGBTQ friendly and how it's just beautiful to see but also how goofy they are about it and how I had that weird conversation last year where a child told me that a football player at their school was queerbating because they weren't actively out of the closet. And I'm like it was just you can't queer bait in person that's something that media does. So it was just really nice to be in such a queer space with so many beautiful people that were all clearly just so smart and kind. Plus there was watermelon and that was great.
We left right after the rain stopped. And I was in a much better mood and a much better place emotionally. Tony let us know that he was on his way with Leon and Billy to bring them to our house and we had one more stop so we headed out after saying goodbye. And went over to Jessie's house because she had a new bike for me.
When I say new I mean she found this bike in a free pile on the side of the road and it's small so she thought that it would work for me. And it's about the same size as the bike I have already And it's very cute and it's a Schwinn. It's caliente Schwinn. I'm not sure what I'm going to name it I'm leaning to hot tamale or cherry bomb. But it's very cute and I'm excited to see if it works for me. So James took that off of her back porch and took the wheel off because it's got a quick release and we got it in the car and went home.
We beat the boys there by less than 10 minutes. And I was happy to see them. I got to show off my apartment just a little bit. I knew that they were going to be leaving very soon but it was cool to get to show them some stuff and then they talk sports with James and James gave them jerseys and hats to wear to the game if they would like to and then they were off to the light rail.
As soon as they left I got right into cleaning. I vacuumed I cleaned the kitty litter I cleaned the fish tanks I sprayed down the bathroom I wiped all the surfaces and I was having a great time even though it is entirely too warm in here. I had both air conditioners going but I take forever to really cool down the space. It seems to finally be working though. And I just spent like an hour and a half cleaning and making it nice in here and then I got to work laying out all of my squares.
I decided to do this kind of gradient of the three colors with the black. So it's like a checkerboard gradient and I really like it. I made one too many red squares and I still need six black squares. I'm frogging and old panel that I made with the black yarn that I never used for anything. I have a whole box of stuff that could be frogged honestly but I just grabbed that one and started doing that but then I got distracted and I didn't want to work on it anymore so I pinned all of the rows so that I can just grab them and start sewing them together and hopefully I will have all of that done by the end of camp. Honestly I don't think it's going to take me that long but it is time consuming. So we'll see what happens.
After I did that I chilled for a while and then I decided I needed to set up the beds for the boys cuz I didn't know what time everyone was coming back from the game And I was surprised to find that we don't have very many sheets. I don't know where they all are. I know I got rid of a couple but I didn't think I went crazy. So that's annoying. But I set the beds up best I could. And also we don't have a lot of like cooler weather blankets so I put the ones out that I could find but most of our blankets are made of fake fur so they're very great for the winter but not great for right now.
Hopefully the boys think it's fine. I also put teddy bears on both of the beds so I hope that makes them feel cozy.
Once I finish that I got into a project in the studio fixing my rainbow sandals. I thought maybe since they're basically ready for the trash I could try patching them. Which is something I've never tried before. I have some leather scraps so I cut squares to put around the ball of the foot area because it's cracked on both sides and then I glued and clamped the backs. I don't know if these will be usable at all but I love having just a pair of flip-flops I can throw on when I need to walk down to the car. Which is something I had to do to get the air pump for the air mattress. And that's when I was like I'm going to do this next project. And it was fun even though I got glue literally everywhere including on my stomach somehow.
So then I knew it was time to take a shower. And I took a very excellent shower and it made me feel a lot better. And I put on nice vanilla lotion. And then I did my eyebrows and now I am laying in bed with sweetp.
James just texted me about how bad the Orioles are. I don't know why they're shocked the Orioles have always been bad. But I hope they're having fun. And now I'm going to go back to watching my video and maybe working on my knit squares for a little bit longer.
I hope that you guys had a good day and that you are not somewhere where it is incredibly hot. I hope that you are being grateful and kind. I love you all. Be safe and tell your mom you love her.

Doggy playdate
"You ready to go Winston?" You asked your puppy.
Your puppy was a golden retriever, he was also a service dog and today was his day off. He wanted to go on a walk to the doggy park around your home.
"Leash please?" You ask.
He takes off in the direction of your bedroom. You watch him enter your bedroom and into his container. He comes back with his leash whole you pack his doggy bag. Today was his day off so you brought all of his favorite toys and treats for him to enjoy.
Winston came and sat in front of you so you could hook his leash onto his collar. You hook his collar and grab his bag and keys.
"To the dog park," you smile wrapping his leash around your belt hoop.
Winston starts walking as you start the short walk to the doggy park. You pass a store.
"Want some water Winston?"
He doesn't answer of course, so you take that as a yes.
You and Winston walk into the store not before being stopped by security.
"I'm sorry but your dog isn't allowed into the store," she speaks.
"I'm sorry, but he is my service dog," you tell her, you pull up his certification on your phone.
"I'm sorry miss enjoy your day," he apologizes.
"It's fine, come come Winston,"
You grab a few water bottles and pay for them. Back to the doggy park. The dog park was across the street, you hurriedly crossed the street making sure that Winston was safe. Into the park you go. You find a vacant seat to place your and Winston's stuff on. You pull out a little bowl for him and pour some water in his bowl. You unhook his leash from his collar and place the bowl on the ground.
After his water break you reach into his bag and pull out his favorite ball and toss it. He chases it and brings it back to you. You see a gentleman walk over to the table with his dog.
"Excuse me, have you seen the bags that were on this table?" He asked you.
"No, I'm sorry it was empty when we arrived."
Winston came up next to you rubbing his head against your thigh.
"Hey buddy, I'm okay, just having a quick talk," you said patting his head.
He settled down and gave you his ball once again, you took it and threw it again.
"Well I'm sorry to be a bother but you think you can help me find it?" He asks you.
He seems like a sweet person, but you were weary of strangers.
"Um, sure," your eyes flashed to some bags next to the table, "are those your bags," you pointed out.
"Yeah they are, I must have sat them on the ground by accident, thank you."
"No problem."
Winston came up and put his ball on the table and started whining.
"Okay, okay, frisbee?" He started to pant.
You flung his Frisbee to him. He jumped up and caught it.
"Sorry miss, but my dog Dodger really want to join, is it okay if we have a little doggy play date?"
"Yeah, Winston needs a little play buddy, he's always working."
"Is he a service dog?"
"More like emotional support but yeah,"
"Oh that's so cool,"
"Yesh he is really protective of me, but I wanted to give him sometime, because he works through the week, so the weekend is for me and him to bond." You smile.
"That's nice, Dodger goes with me when I leave,"
"Leave? Do you work out of the country?"
"Something, I'm an actor,"
"Oh really? What have you played in?" You ask.
"One of my most famous roles is Steve Rogers in the MCU."
"Oh cool,"
"I'm surprised, did you not recognize me?"
"No I did, you came to the park to relax, not to get bombarded by fans, so that why I didn't say anything,"
"Oh well thank you. Dodger time to go. Sorry ms,"
"Y/n,"
"Ms. Y/n we should be getting ready to go. We have a big day tomorrow,"
"Oh well good luck, hope to see you and Dodger again,"
"Same for you and Winston,"
You and Chris wave at each other and you go back to enjoying your day with Winston. Yeah he was just as nice as they said he'd be Hopefully you could do it again with him.
