From the moment he saw you he was stunned. you were exactly his type. It was like you came from straight inside his head and decided to come to life hand crafted and made for him- but we all know that’s not how it works and he’s a bit dramatic

It really didn’t take him that long to introduce himself as he’d saunter over to you with a lopsided smile

“hey I don’t believe we’ve met, I’m sure you already know who I am by now” he said pointing to the shirt that said ‘the champ is here’ “ but allow me to officially introduce myself”

You thought at that this bastard was so cocky that you simply just laughed and walked away. You laughed at him? The world wrestling champion? Now that simply couldn’t slide

Of course this filled him with determination to get you to really see him. Taking every chance to talk to you be it passing in the halls, after promos and matches to even one time he kept trying to have a conversation with you while you were on the way to the bathroom

You gotta hand it to the guy, his dedication was admirable.

I’d like to think you of course were oblivious

When trying to have simple conversation with you didn’t work, being his normal funny self surely would right?

He’d do all sorts of crazy stupid shit to grab your attention. Pulling stuff like walking up to you with a bra on and modeling it like some poster girl, or better yet this other time where he was putting on the best impressions he could muster ( some could say he was making fun of them) of wwe superstarts ( specifically Randy orton) and while it did make you laugh, Randy stood behind him the whole time and didn’t let the poor guy know he was hearing the whole thing

Of course when he turned around color drained his face and he was hightailing it outta there yelling ‘c’mon Randy it was just a joke no need to scowl you’re gonna age your face 30 years!” And he said so laughing the whole way right out of that situation

Chaos really erupted after that but it got your interest in him and it got your attention.

People definitely started whispering about it, not that cena was shy about being into you.

People like triple h & r truth were spreading around cenas rumored feelings for you around the locker room saying things like ‘ isn’t John acting a little strange ? I think he’s got the hopeless romantic act or something going on’

Of course since the company was so big, this was going to start spreading EVERYWHERE. People saying all sorts of things even at one point it got spinned to make it look like YOU were the one who had a crush on HIM.

He’d be really upfront about it if someone asked though.

“ hell yeah I am attracted to them! And I’m first in line if they’re single.”

He did not play when it came to stating how he wanted a chance

It was laughable and kind of cute really

Nothing was too embarrassing for him. Not constant rejection or any of the whispers

Of course if you were really not interested cena is not disrespectful enough to keep pushing your boundaries, he’s very respectful to those around him. Especially people he feels are closer to his heart than others

HOWEVER IF you do show him interest? He’s cranking up the volume 10000%

The smooth walk up to you, stupid pick up lines and the whole nine yards seemed to be a daily routine

He would NOT have any type of flirting or anything with other people if he had a crush

Unless of course if it was for a storyline or something but I’d like to think he’d be a little hesitant

Definitely feel like if his heart is leaning towards someone it’s all or nothing. He doesn’t really betray his own feelings or loyalty even if you weren’t together yet

ahh elizabeth vandiver's lectures pointing out a heartbreaking moment in the odyssey i wasn't even aware of:

telemachus addresses eumaeus the swineherd as atta (ἄττα). in my fagles edition it's translated as "old friend", but as vandiver points out, atta has two meanings: it can be used as a familiar-but-respectful form of address to an older man (which is how telemachus uses it), but significantly it's also baby-talk for "father", parallel to papa/dada. it's what telemachus WOULD have called odysseus growing up, but now telemachus refers to him as xenos, a visiting stranger/foreigner.

like imagine. odysseus is in disguise as a beggar, it's the first time he's seen his son since infancy, and one of the first things he hears telemachus say, to another man, is "daddy, who is this stranger?"

Can I please have an order of time traveling Stiles but with a twist.

Stiles is in the present time, and is a spark training after Deaton after his mother died and he never knew his father . One night in the clinic he gets attacked and so he runs the nemeton and begs it to take him somewhere safe.

It boots him years in the past, to the Hale dynasty right in the middle of Derek Hale bride choosing ceremony.

Derek is absolutely confused but takes this as a sign from the goddess that this man is to be his, and to be honest he doesn’t want to marry any of the girls brought before him. Peter is absolutely ecstatic to have a spark in the family. Stiles is so confused to see his favourite history figure standing over him. Stiles gets adopted by captain of the guard Stilinski, whom he shares a scary similar likeness with. 

Cue Derek trying to woo a very confused stiles with a language barrier. Honestly stiles is such a little shit whenever anyone his pissing him off he switches from English (which everyone is slowly picking up on) to polish. (Jokes on Derek, stiles has been dying to fuck him since he found his picture in a history book)

And stiles is trying to save Derek from his untimely and tragic death. The Nemeton that sent him back is the same one on Hale lands and is cheering him on. Everyone is in awe of the mythical figure who can talk and lecture the deity tree.

Unfortunately for Derek because stiles is not officially his others are allowed to approach him. They get him gifts and things so Derek being Derek, goes out and hunts a mythical beast and brings it to stiles. Stiles freak the fuck out (in happiness) because this mythical creature is super useful in potions.

I would also like a side of strong menace stiles, Wolfy and possessive Derek. Just overall everyone is absolutely in love and impressed by stiles thanks. maybe omegaverse??

Now I can’t decide if they are soulmate separated by time, or if the nemeton really liked the Hales and wanted a happier ending and when it saw stiles was like ooh freebie, or the nemeton was bored and was like “this would be funny”

the callum / runaan dynamic is so funny bc like. out of nowhere your daughter has a boyfriend who happens to be the most wildcard character you imagine she could find - human (mind you you're currently in the process of unlearning all your racial prejudices), magical, and a government official in addition to all of his other Emo Personal Lore - and they're the most beautifully devoted but also most painfully public affection-displaying couple you've ever seen and the guy also kind of freed your soul from purgatory plus you love and trust your daughter so basically you just kind of have to Deal With It. yet it would seem he's determined to make that as difficult as possible because he is the biggest fucking dork you have ever met in your life and it seems you are the only person who is bothered by this because your husband is amused, your daughter thinks he is the greatest thing to ever happen, and the dumbass himself attempts to show you some respect but also apparently refuses to stop being cringe so now you must continue on with your life while this loser teenager does your daughter in the room next to yours every night and you can't do anything about it because oh yeah you killed his father

What if during the years Luo Binghe was in the Endless Abyss, Shen Qingqiu not only knelt at the sword mound, but he also started planting white lotuses around the Peak?

It would start slow, just a few lotuses appearing in places they hadn't before, but they were so sparse that no one really took much notice. If they did, who would complain? It was just a flower and a lovely one at that. Their Shizun surely wouldn't mind the sight of them. He had been so distraught after the conference... Best to not trouble him with something so inconsequential.

Slowly more and more of those lotuses began to pop up, spreading to every lake and pond on the Peak. That couldn't be an accident. Never had lotuses grown on Qing Jing Peak before. Perhaps their Shizun commissioned An Ding to plant the lotuses, but for what reason they didn't know. Their Shizun had developed more of an interest in beasts than flora, but even that passion was smothered by his grief. Whatever the reason for the flowers, they must be special.

It wasn't until Ning Yingying informed her shixiong that she had been assisting the Peak Lord in cultivating the lotuses, hoping that it would ease his troubled heart. He had lost his most favored disciple and even after a year, their Shizun still knelt every day at the sword mound when he wasn't avoiding the memories haunting him on the Peak (though they would never speak of such things around their Shizun out of courtesy).

And so, they said nothing about the lotuses. If gardening and caring for the flowers that overtook their lakes and ponds brought comfort to the grieving heart of their Shizun, who were they to rob him of it? He was still in mourning, but when they did chance at seeing him caring so tenderly for the blossoming lotuses, they could see a little bit of that old light return to him, even for just a moment.

At some point, even the common people in the surrounding villages began to whisper about the widow of Qing Jing Peak, endlessly beautiful in his mourning amongst the tall bamboo and pure as snow lotus blooms.
