I sometimes think about and ponder on how Bruce is such an overprotective yet mostly well meaning parent towards Dick. Yet Bruce is also the type of parent who fails to realise that their kid has grown up and can look after themselves and doesn’t need them for protection and guidance anymore.
Dick and Bruce are both control freaks but for different reasons. Bruce is a control freak because he thinks that as long as he is in control of the situation that means he can protect the ones he loves from harm or losing them altogether. Because when his parents died he had no control over that. He felt powerless that he couldn’t do nothing to prevent it. Even though he was just a helpless little 8-9 year old boy who could do nothing but stand there watching helplessly as it played out before his very eyes.
While Dick is a control freak for the opposite reasons to Bruce. He needs to stay in control of himself and not let others tell him what to do and values his freedom his independence if that makes sense. All his life even with his own parents he was excepted to do as he was told, like how most children do. He wasn’t listened to in his own mind he felt responsible for his own parents death depending on the version it was because he didn’t tell them about stranger threatening Mr Haly or in some tellings he wasn’t listen to by his parents. He had no one to turn to really and much like Bruce he was just a powerless little boy. Who nobody truly heard, Dick Grayson to the world was just a child and therefore had no voice.
The only person who truly heard Dick’s voice was Bruce Wayne who saw himself in the young boy and knew the only way to save this boy from becoming like him was to get him his justice and put Dick Grayson parents killer behind bars. He became like a second father towards the young lad, family, the dynamic duo crime fighters of Gotham. Which is why Dick was able to heal and move on mostly from the loss of his parents because unlike Bruce. He had someone to fill the void that was lost when his parents died. Bruce Wayne the Batman because like a father to him a second father, in a way he was Dick light shining hope in the darkest part of his life. It’s so important to Dick development as a character and without it he wouldn’t be the same person he is today and it’s also so important that Dick time as Robin was a pretty happy one as well.
Both Bruce and Dick saved each other just by becoming each other new family. Bruce didn’t need anything from Dick all he needs from him is to just exist to remind him why he does what he does.
So imagine the hurt Dick must feel as a young adult. That his second father who heard his voice and listen to him all those years ago. Is now not listening to his voice really anymore or respecting his decisions as a young adult a man in his own right. While it comes from a place of good intentions. Dick cannot help but feel he is still seen and viewed as just a little boy by him and the crushing feeling of never truly living up to his expectations and the shadow that the Bat casts onto him. When will he ever be good enough to finally be taken seriously by him as his own man. Dick coming of age story is about finding one self in the world and crafting out his own legacy and what being a superhero means to him and him alone.
While it wasn’t Bruce intention, he did in fact put pressure onto Dick even though he doesn’t want him grow up to be like him. He values him so highly and he is glad that he grew up to be a much better man than he will ever be. He loves his surrogate son so much but with that comes fear. Like any parent he cannot help but worry for Dick future and the decisions that he makes as an adult and he will state his opinion on what he thinks of said decisions Dick makes in his life. He didn’t approve of Dick dropping out of college which caused some tension between the two of them for a good bit.
I always found Batman #330 original released in September 11th 1980 really interesting because of how Lucius fox and his son Tim Jace fox comes into play in that story Bruce compares himself to Lucius while Tim to Dick and how he cannot understand why would in he in Bruce’s eyes be throwing away his future. So when Bruce is talking all this nonsense to Tim he wasn’t actually speaking to Tim rather it’s the things he wanted to say to Dick.
Dick probably understood at that point that this was never about Tim or the thugs rather it was about Bruce who took out his own frustrations with Dick by projecting them onto Tim and the thug members. The themes and parallels to a father that being Lucius and his son Tim to Bruce and Dick within that comic book story makes it so painfully clear to me. It was about a Father who was upset with his son life choices for his future and only wants what is best for him even if he isn’t going about it in the best way possible.
The biggest hurdle for Dick and Bruce relationship as surrogate father and son is miscommunication and how the other isn’t willing to listen to the other. Bruce is the parent who always think he knows what is best which is not always the case which leads to him fighting with Dick all the time because he is blinded by the idea that his adult son might know better then him and stubbornly refuses to budge on that for a stupidly long time.
#Batman#Late night random thoughts and rambles#Just to be clear I am kinda mostly pondering about Bronze Age and pre crisis Dick and Bruce.#But I am also pondering some modern comics as well such as Batman/Superman world finest comics and world finest teen titans short comic.#dick grayson#bruce wanye#I think about them a lot in my head rent free maybe it because I see a lot of myself in Dick in a way who knows.#Then again Bruce reminds me of both of my parents in some way and well them being overly smothering and overprotective at times.#In that way I definitely feel Dick Grayson pain in wanting to seen as grow ass man and not be seen as just a child in my own parents eyes.#meta#Batfam#The scariest part of growing up is letting go of the rose tinted glasses of your parents is to see them as just regular people with flaws.#I could make a joke about how for some strange reason Batman always has to be right in a situation and is never truly allowed to be wrong.#nightwing

New gravity falls Fic and Au idea - “Rewind the Timeline”
Start note: First of all, I must be stopped. I’ve made too many designs for Bill and story ideas. TOO MANY!!! If I am found to be unoriginal with this one, then I guess the world does work as Plato had thought it to be. This Alternate Universe plot will be a sort of Frankenstein’s monster of pre-existant ideas, put in a blender to produce a sort of terrible yet interesting mix.
With further ado, about the plot:
Au name: Rewind the timeline
Summary: After sojourning at the Theraprism, Bill is sentenced to reincarnation as a humanoid creature with an enormous lifespan. However, his “a different place, a different time” part of the deal was upheld seriously. Therefore, instead of being sent to Gravity falls in the future, Bill gets yeeted (isekai’d?) into the wilderness of post-colonial America that has barely gained independence 20-ish years prior. Naked, without powers, and under the form of a naive child with unnaturally bright yellow eyes with slanted pupils. He must now survive by his own means, living “on and off” with the human society through decades until he meets the Pines.
key elements:
+ Bill takes up various identities, becoming a professional liar
+ Bill doesn’t age as normal humans do, therefore he stays young-looking for long periods of time. And it obviously freaks people out.
+He’s a “cuckoo baby” -> infiltrates families for the sake of survival. +Since he had his memories intact, he effortlessly excels at studies and would be considered a genius for his time, but doesn’t want to attract attention, so instead he acts like an irritatingly uncooperative student who gets into arguments with his professors.
+Experiences human vices of all sorts (indulges into drugs and alcohol) and commits a shitload of murders throughout centuries.
+Meets Stanford and Fiddleford in college and becomes their 3rd roomie.
+Bill helps to bring Stanley back and make him and Ford reconnect, then becomes Ford’s “College sweetheart”.
+Fiddleford grows to instinctively dislike Bill after finding evidence that he may not be what he claims.
+Fiddleford found old newspapers articles, old photographs and books with Bill’s faces in them while doing a research project in college, he got unseasy and told Ford about his findings, but that caused them to have an argument and they “broke-up” a while after they started working on the portal for Bill.
+Later, Bill still convinces Ford to make the portal, but -> Ford gets sucked in during the testing part when Stan is present.
+Bill feels remorseful but powerless so he goes into hiding, up until Dipper and Mabel arrive in town.
+Weirdmaggedon has very slim chances of happening/will happen much differently than expected
Bill’s human design for the story (a prototype):
End note: Let me know what you guys think! This would be a crazy short fic for me to write once I get the time, but what’s even crazier is that I made the whole plot (plus some designs) all within to two hours. 😳
#gravity falls au#gravity falls#bill cipher#stanford pines#stanley pines#fiddleford hadron mcgucket#human bill design#human bill au#Placeholder AU name : RewindTheTimeline#bill x ford#fanfic writing#Inspired from listening to American murder ballads#I don’t know if Bill would be better or worse as a human in this particular situation#He’ll probably be worse than he was before reincarnation ngl#This fic idea is the polar opposite of my previous one#RewindTheTimeline AU

Not sure if you have done this before, but thoughts on Itachi?
Hi there! Uf, tough question with a lot of chances of bringing us hate, but, let's be brave! As a very obvious disclaimer, please bear in mind that you can love a character and still justify none of its actions. And that trying to understand what led someone to do something is by no means equal to trying to justify them.
Itachi committed a monstrous action exterminating his clan, there is no denying that. Still, I refuse to dump all the blame on him because he was used as a mere tool to fulfil the genocidal plans of Konoha's oligarchy. This issue was extensively discussed before in way more eloquent ways than I ever could so, I will just point out that Itachi was a traumatized child, educated in violence, trained for violence and encouraged to master his talent for violence by literally everyone in his life. Violence was his only tool, the only thing he was good at, and the only means to solve problems in the world he lived in.
He was given an impossible choice and he had to decide quickly and under duress. He was gifted, but still a child, and thus immature. He had obviously no capacity or possibility to solve such a conflict. He was given a choice of killing his clan quietly or risking a catastrophe that would lead to his brother's death (or, rather, he was straight out threatened with the assassination of his little brother by the village's leadership). Now, I of course believe such things were nonsense and that the uprising of the Uchiha didn't necessarily have to lead to a war. And, even if it did, there were plenty other means to avoid it. I also would have taken my brother with me and run, let hell unleash or whatever, before harming a single member of my family. But I am not a manipulated child soldier growing under a military regime that has traumatized me with war and brainwashed me since birth, so, what do I know.
I think I also take issue with Itachi being solely and mainly blamed for the massacre, because it personalizes in him an oppression that was systemic. The leadership of Konoha was determined to exterminate the Uchiha and had been establishing the bases for a genocide for at least two generations. The Uchiha had been racially profiled, discriminated, denied of civil rights, physically segregated, kept under surveillance, relegated to a specific job, and pseudoscientific theories had been formulated to justify their inadequacy for leadership as an excuse to exclude them from political decisions and important roles in the village they co-founded. Tobirama's political heirs in the council happily proposed a genocide with petty opposition form the highest political authority, with the sole excuse of keeping all power to themselves. Using Itachi, a member of the oppressed group, to do the dirty job for them, is just an additional level of atrocity. Having Itachi embody all the evilness is, I believe, a misinterpretation of the whole issue here and also kind of victim blaming.
In this line, I would like to point out something that I believe is important: Itachi won nothing from the massacre. He obtained no privilege, no reward at al. He remained excluded and powerless, he took all the blame and all the bad consequences, suffered an illness in silence and with no help from Konoha, and died as a villain getting nothing in return but hope that his brother would survive the vultures that would be forever after him. While the orchestrators of the genocide kept their power and privileges and took no damage, and even got to have the sole survivors of the Uchiha serving them like loyal pawns. I think it is easy to figure out who is really to blame and who is just an alienated useful tool.
Having said that, I don't think he was retconed, but, as a criticism for the creators, I believe they overdid his evil phase a bit. There is little justification for the torture he inflicted on Kakashi (I am not too sorry for him, I just think that 5 minutes of genjutsu torture would have been enough for Itachi to maintain his bad guy cover, he didn't need 72 hours unless he had a true personal reason for punishing him) or for torturing his little brother twice (I can see he wanted to make sure he was hated, but there were other ways, he certainly went too far). No wonder some fans believe he was retconed taking these things into account. I can only interpret that, after all the violence he went through, Itachi was sort of desensitized to it. Still, he left his brother, the person he loved most in the world, severely incapacitated (only Tsunade was able to heal him, and Itachi couldn't have foreseen that she would go back to Konoha. Had he not enough experience with Tsukuyomi and severely underestimated its consequences?). There is little explanation for this.
Now, what I find really curious and disappointing here, is that the narrative could never allow Itachi to acknowledge that the Uchiha were right or, at least, that the genocide was unjustifiable. But he is a good guy so, of course he has to show remorse. So, he is certainly suffering from what he did, he loved his family and feels extremely remorseful. But, for being so clever, he regrets absurd things. "I tried to do everything alone", well, Itachi, you were alone and that was not your fault. Is not like you could summon your anbu colleagues and propose a poll to decide what you should do with Danzo's orders. "I was arrogant", like, when did that happen? "I treated you like a child", well, because, he was a child? "I should have involved you, you could have changed the Uchiha" really? involve a 7 year old child? sure he would have been able to convince his family to just endure, why not. All so he wouldn't say the quiet part out loud. Konoha was a genocidal regime and the sole wrong thing here was annihilating the Uchiha, which he did because he was given no choice and, as a child, he was incapable of finding another way. That was probably asking too much of this story, where the military dictators are basically the good guys and their moral is sacrificing their family for the state.
Another funny thing I would like to mention is how Itachi talks about the Uchiha in the edo tensei arc. I talked about this before, but it is as if he was fed and believed all possible nonsensical Uchiha-hating stories:
I understand the message we are trying to convey here. The Uchiha were power-thirsty mean people, see, the genocide was justified. But it doesn't make sense. Assuming every person has two sharingans (Danzo and his sick experiments aside), there is zero possibility for that "endless reworkings" situation. Also, the Uchiha needed a jutsu to keep themselves humble and honorable, because the izanagi was so dishonorable (we only saw it used once in a repetitive, sick way in canon, and it was by Danzo, but whatever). As if the Uchiha are the ones that need to keep their humbleness in check because they have tendencies to do megalomaniac things like hoarding power, accumulating and trading with mass destruction weapons, carving their faces in stone, or commissioning crazy big statues to commemorate their victorious fights. Even when stating that the Uchiha created a jutsu themselves to solve a problem they had among themselves and that never threatened any outsider, they are presented as some irrational, greedy people.
So, in conclusion, Itachi could have been wrong and biased, but he very clearly did not want to be the execution hand of a genocide, he did not hate his clan and he deeply loved his family. But sadly, we have to admit, he was strongly manipulated by Konoha's nationalistic bullshit and died twice with intact and convinced loyalty for Konoha. There is no denying that. However, I take issue when he is framed as a soulless Konoha bootlicker, because he was ready to leak any information he had on Konoha should they do anything to Sasuke, ready to help enemy nations and unleash the war and bloodshed he was trying to avoid with the massacre. He was canonically doing everything to ensure Sasuke's safety, not for Konoha.
In summary, for me, Itachi is a complex character whose contradictions are left unresolved in the narrative because the deranged moral of the story is, sadly, that there are circumstances where a genocide can be justified. And still, I can't help but love this character, mostly because Sasuke loves him so greatly. And Itachi was ready to give up everything for Sasuke, even Konoha and the whole ninja world. I like to believe that this is evidence that the "will of fire" cult didn't win completely with him, and that, ever after betraying his clan, he still kept some of that unfathomable and unconditional love for his family that Konoha could not tolerate in the Uchiha.

Thinking about survived Order 66 Plo Koon AU
What I saw, Kel-Dorian often worked as a bounty hunter or something like that due to their strong judgment of the right and wrong.
So what I am thinking in my headcanon sandbox: Plo acting as a retired bounty hunter. And like "what is Jedi? I didn't hear of them. Of the lightning from my hand? It is Kel-Dor ability no need to worry :)"
Wolffe is by his side as a... colleague? Or successor?
Some people think it's odd that Kel-Dor and clone like human wandering around and got suspicious.
"I knew it! You guys not just some bounty hunters teaming right?"
"You Kel-Dor adopted human! I never thought any Kel-Dor clan would accept other sentients as their family!"
"Excuse me what"
Wolffe feels strong responsibility of protecting Plo because he never deserved this and he still feels guilty(despite how many times Plo told him it was not) so he often acts in front.
But since he was naive and honest clone(be honest, Wolffe is not good at lying and he is softy despite his sass) Wolffe often caught up in troubles in civilian and underworld life. In this case, Plo steps front and negotiate or talks about troubles.(thank you and not thank you Micah for always dragging his naive friend to underworld)
Wolffe feels frustrated and powerless when this happens.
After Malevolence, he always feels bad when he can't act in front. It means his brother will suffer instead of him.
Wolffe sometimes thinks, if he was not here, Plo would be more easily live and hide under Empire's hunting.
He doesn't know that when he is fallen asleep, Plo often strokes his hair, and recites Jedi Code in his mind to send his never-ending grief and regrets to the Force.
One day, Wolffe didn't come back to their hideout till late evening.
Plo: I knew that one day he will get lost, like other children.
And half true, because Wolffe got kidnapped by underworld criminals.
The kidnappers recognized Wolffe has same face with the clone troopers, and he was deserter from Empire. So they thought if they get him and make him talk about the army information, or just send him back to Empire for reward. Or just sell him to slavery, because clone troopers also known as a great soldier and worker with no worries about someone would try to find them.
What they didn't know, that there was one Jedi who was tracking them for one clone they trafficked.
Lightning. Because why not. Plo couldn't use his saber because it was too dangerous for his and Wolffe's hide, but instead he uses his Electric Judgment to knock down kidnappers. He frees abducted peoples and finds Wolffe.
Wolffe, who was tortured and hurt because he tried to protect other young slaves.
And Wolffe tells Plo that it was too dangerous and meaningless. That it was too risky too use his Force tactic to rescue one clone.
And anyway Plo gathers Wolffe in his arm and goes to their hideout.
And tugges Wolffe in warm blankets and gives him warm soup. And water.
After Wolffe is calmed, Plo tells him his honest mind. That actually he is doubting that they could fine any Jedi survivors, or even if there are any other survivors at first. And after Jedi Order's fall, Plo felt like he lost his whole life's purpose, that was meant to serve the Force and greater goods.
But Wolffe was still there, and he found his first new purpose for his life, to protect this young soldier and help him learning to survive the real life outside the army life. And with that, when he finds many others who are in danger, he could help them even after Order's fall, and he was grad to be alive thanks to Wolffe's existence.
Wolffe just keeps weeping silently while listening Plo's talk. And Plo had to give him more water to prevent dehydration.
Stay hydrated everyone.
Peoples who got freed kept their secrets, for the Jedi who saved them. But anyway the rumor spread to underworld, that there was one Kel-Dor with iron arm who striked to trafficking hideout and fried criminals and released slaves.
Ahsoka and Rex in Rebellion heard that rumors with newfound hope.
Wolfpack in Empire army heard that rumor with burning desire to hunt down their commanding officers who betrayed and left them.
That's all for now. Thank you everyone have a nice day.

I’ve been waiting for Ango 😈😈
Anyway, can you please do Ango (and any other bsd guy) with a s/o that’s REALLY and I mean REALLY tall, like 6’10.
If you don’t think that’s a good idea or it’s not interesting just disregard this. Have a good day/night! <3
Oh my god I came here to write the bsd men in bed but sOMEONE HAD TO GIVE ME NEW INSPIRATION AHAHAHAAHAH
Absolutely.
As a short bitch myself... I'm so happy to imagine being tall.
A Small Problem
Ango Sakaguchi X Reader
Ango, in his infinite wisdom, had fallen for you, his darling, his other half...
But that was only apparent to you and him. The near daily comments on your 1-whole-foot height difference made him more than insecure.
Ango had never considered himself tall nor short to begin with, being at a good, solid height of 5'10.
He was tall to most women, and average to most men. It was a good balance.
When he met you, it was online. You spoke, sometimes for hours, into the early morning after he finally got off of work. After three months of dating, he was certain, with one-hundred percent of his soul, that you were the one.
Within the next month, he'd emptied out his savings into buying a ring for you, a suitable house, and redecorating said home into a cozy place fit for both you and the possibility of a small family (or pets, let's be real).
Finally, in your sixth month of dating, you'd gotten the unexpected funds to fly and see him for the first time.
Overwhelmed with joy, Ango had absolutely no reservations about finally meeting you, overjoyed that he would finally get to put that ring and that house to use.
When he met you, he was dumbfounded, jaw slack with shock for just a moment. He couldn't believe you were so... tall.
For a moment, you worried that he found you unattractive, but those worries washed away as the most delighted, sweetest young lover's smile broke onto his face, like six months of pure love expressed in one fleeting moment.
His biggest worry at the time was, how was he supposed to be the big spoon?
He wasn't embarrassed to take you around town, showing you off to everyone he knew.
You never took him as someone into PDA, but he regularly rested his head on your shoulder.
While he may not have judged you for your height, others did. Many of his coworkers laughed with what he was certain was envy of his catch, but hurt him deeply nonetheless.
When you accepted his proposal, he was monumentously happy, putting himself through hell and back to arrange a wedding as soon as possible.
However, through all of this happiness, you saw that something dampened his spirits, just slightly, as well.
After discovering that he was treated poorly because of you, it nearly broke your heart. You knew you had to help him in some way, making a point to give him extra snuggles and kisses, knowing he wasn't quite ready to open up about it.
There were times when he did cry with you. He wasn't used to being made fun of, and even more than that, he felt powerless over the situation. He loved you more than the world itself, but he also couldn't leave his work, and who's to say his coworkers at another job would treat him any better?
You start making jokes about his coworker bullies as if he were a small child needing reassurance, likening them to small children who couldn't handle a man and his partner.
It makes Ango feel tremendously better to have you on his side, comforting him. There was a time when he wondered if you saw him the same way, as weak and small in comparison to yourself. But you? You treated him like an equal. And that's all that matters.
Keep joking with him, keep loving him, and you won't have a problem.
"I've got a small problem, my love."
"Oh? And what's that honey?"
"You." ♡♡♡

holllly shit. time for a speedround:
What's the maximum amount of time Erena can sit still with nothing to do?
(edited in, i straight up forgot to answer this one) A while. Midas has caught her blare witching in the corner several times. Usually it's because she's fucking around in people's dreamscapes, but sometimes she's just chillin. 70/30 chance.
2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?
genuinely? incredibly hard and it's usually just Midas who can. Manically? VERY easy.
3. How do they put herself to bed at night?
Nightmare freak doesn't need to sleep, but Erena would read every night before going to bed, or she'd climb up to her roof and stargaze if she was struggling to fall asleep.
4. How easy is it to earn her trust?
Insurmountably difficult. The last person she trusted made her worse.
5. Her mistrust?
Her default is to be skeptical of everyone's intentions, even when proven otherwise. Her mistrust is given freely.
6. Does she consider laws flexible, or immovable?
Laws of nature? Laws of the land? She died and came back as a Night Terror, anything is flexible with enough rage.
9. Does she swear? Does she remember her first swear word?
Yes, but sparingly. She doesn't need vulgarity for people to listen.
10. What lie does she most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt her?
That she's a Cleric, here to help and heal all. It doesn't haunt her in the slightest. She knows it was dishonest and cruel, but it was means to an end.
11. How does she cope with confusion?
Rage and interrogation.
12. How does she deal with an itch found in a place she can't quite reach?
Unfortunately, she barely has any feeling in her physical form. However, means no itching ever again <3
14. What animal does she fear most?
There isn't an animal she fears, but she hates raccoons.
15. How does she speak? Is what she says usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
Depends on how in control of the situation she is. She's normally rather calculated in her speech, even going as far as to conceal her accent. She's methodical and purposeful. However, the less control she has, the more unpredictable she becomes.
16. What makes her stomach turn?
The depths of the void, and the churn of warping reality.
17. Is she easily embarrassed?
Yes, but the mask helps her conceal it.
18. What embarrasses her?
The heroes. They're shockingly good at tripping her up, fatally and comedically.
20. If she was asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would she do so?
Answered in this post!
21. Why does she get up in the morning?
Why does she keep going instead of moving on? She wants them dead. She wants all three of them dead and she wants her life back.
22. How does jealousy manifest itself in her?
She's snide and passive aggressive.
23. How about envy?
She'll take it from you.
24. Is sex something that she's comfortable speaking about? To whom?
Respectfully, I'm not going to open the conversation of if/how the ghost can participate in Activities ™
25. What are her thoughts on marriage?
Generally just something symbolic and not all that important in her life.
26. What is her preferred mode of transportation?
Horseback, although horses are too skittish around her now.
27. What causes her to feel dread?
When she's powerless.
28. Would she prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?
Yes. She lives one constantly.
29. Does she usually live up to her own ideals?
Absolutely not, why do you think she keeps going?
31. Who is she most glad to have met?
Midas. She grew up with her family, but Midas remains the only person she can trust.
32. Does she have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke?
She doesn't do small talk, but she normally would ask people about how well they were sleeping while she was lying about being a Cleric.
33. Could she be considered lazy?
Absolutely not, girl has horrible work-life balance. Bloodlust 24/7
34. How hard is it for her to shake a sense of guilt?
Concerningly easy.
35. How does she treat the things her friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?
Before she died, she would try to be interested, but she was never really good at pretending to be interested. Now she simply does not give a flying fuck </3
36. Does she actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into her lap?
It was never something she sought out, and it did very much wriggle her way into her head.
39. How easy is it for her to ignore flaws in other people?
She actively picks at them, like barely healed scabs and pushes deep. One of the best ways to make nightmares.
41. How does she feel about children?
Erena loved children, now they're just in the Illusionist's way.
______________________________________________________________
B) What inspired me to create her?
Necessity! We were starting a new server and I wanted to play one of the major villains, so me and my friend started brainstorming and slowly came up with stuff that could translate well into the game. I picked phantoms to be a main source of inspiration and he picked spiders :] C) Did I have trouble figuring out where she fits into her own story?
Honestly, not really. She felt very organic and pretty simple for me. I hadn't worked on a villain in a long time, I had an unused design that fit her pretty well, and I realized I could connect her to another character as a fun surprise for everyone playing with us.
D) Has she always had the same physical appearance, or have I had to edit how they look?
She went through some very different designs before I decided to revamp an old character design for a D&D PC I never used. Since then, she's gone through some designs as her story evolved, but that's been it! Pretty straightforward thankfully.
E) Is she someone I would get along with? Would she get along with you?
Absolutely not. She haunts me most nights as it is.
G) What trait of hers bothers me the most?
Yes. (real answer is her inability to let go. for her own sake.)
H) What trait to I admire most?
No. (real answer is her confidence. she knows who she is, she knows what she wants, and she will get it.)
#holy fuck i got this notification and my mouth fell open that's SO MUCH DUDE.#you're insane. i say that in an only slightly concerned way#thank you for the questions it was a chill way to spend my night decompressing after work#tempuiocs#illusionist

Another heir - Chapter 4
« Are you spying on me ? »
Draco Malfoy story
Draco Malfoy x Ravenclaw
Warnings : Spoilers Harry Potter saga
—————————
Helena shifted her weight, feeling the cool night breeze against her skin. She turned to Draco, a thoughtful look in her eyes. "So, what's on your mind? What's keeping you up at night?"
Draco hesitated before replying, his voice quiet. "My father."
Helena nodded, understanding that he wouldn't say more. She decided to share a piece of her own story instead. "I lost my father two years ago. He was very sick. Ever since then, I've had a hard time sleeping, but walking around at night helps me clear my head."
Draco glanced at her, his expression hardening slightly. "I suppose you're happy my father's in prison. After all, he was at the Ministry at the end of last year."
Helena shook her head slowly. "I'm not happy, Draco. I understand that it's not easy for you. But I know that just because your father is where he is, it doesn't mean you're the same person. We are not carbon copies of our parents. You are your own person, Draco. I understand that you miss him, but you shouldn't let others—or yourself—define you by his actions."
Draco looked at her, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. He seemed to be processing her words, the tension in his shoulders easing just a little. "You really believe that?"
"Yes, I do," Helena said softly. "We all have our own paths to walk. You can choose to be different."
For a moment, the two stood in silence, the only sound the rustling of leaves in the wind. Helena could feel a shift in the air, a tentative bridge forming between them.
"Thanks," Draco finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll keep that in mind."
Helena smiled gently. "Anytime, Draco."
They stood together, gazing at the stars, finding a shared solace in the quiet of the night.
And so these late-night meetings became a ritual. Each evening, they found solace in the Astronomy Tower, gazing at the stars and engaging in quiet conversations. Draco remained distant in his responses, but he couldn't deny that he appreciated Helena for not judging him as the selfish, arrogant son of a Death Eater. He valued her presence, even if he couldn't fully express it.
Draco found himself questioning many things. Helena's acceptance and understanding were a stark contrast to the expectations placed upon him. Yet, he couldn't forget the mission he had been given. The internal battle of his emotions was intense, tearing him between loyalty to his family and the glimmer of a different path.
For Helena, these nightly talks were a rare opportunity to open up about her own struggles, especially about her father. Draco, in his own reserved way, understood her pain without showing pity, which made her feel less alone. His empathy was subtle, but it was there, and it meant the world to her.
As weeks went by, their connection grew stronger. They exchanged discreet smiles in the corridors and at the dining tables, a silent acknowledgment of their shared secret. Their friendship, if it could be called that, remained hidden from prying eyes. Helena appreciated these moments of vulnerability and camaraderie, and Draco found a small respite from his burdens.
Their bond was a delicate balance of unspoken understanding and mutual respect, blossoming quietly in the shadows of their nightly rendezvous.
One evening, Helena arrived at the Astronomy Tower earlier than usual. She needed a moment alone. The previous night, she had been haunted by a dream of her father, watching him take his last breath while her mother pleaded with him to fight and stay. Helena stood powerless at the foot of the bed, the scene replaying over and over in her mind. She had woken up with a start, disoriented and sorrowful. The day had seemed interminable.
Desperate to distract herself, Helena attempted to work on her astronomy homework, but she couldn't focus. She was trying to locate the Gemini constellation when she heard footsteps behind her. Draco had arrived.
He quietly sat down beside her, observing her for a moment before asking, "What are you reading?"
Helena sighed, a hint of frustration in her voice. "I'm trying to do this stupid assignment, but I just can't focus."
Draco took her assignment from her hands, glancing at it. "You're already looking at the best constellation."
Helena looked at him curiously. "Why do you say that?"
Draco smirked slightly. "Because it's my sign."
Helena laughed, the tension easing a bit. "Mine too."
Draco's smirk softened into a genuine smile. "Well, let's see if we can make some sense of it together." He started pointing out different constellations in the night sky, using the telescope and charts from the tower. He explained the positioning of the constellations in relation to one another, his voice calm and steady.
"Look, here's Gemini," Draco said, adjusting the telescope for her. "And if you move just a bit to the left, you can see Taurus."
Helena leaned in, following his directions. "Wow, I see it. That's incredible."
Draco nodded, then pointed towards another part of the sky. "And over there, that's Orion. It's one of the easiest to find because of the belt stars."
As they continued, Draco's knowledge and passion for astronomy became apparent. Helena found herself not just learning, but genuinely enjoying the process.
At the end of their impromptu lesson, Helena looked at Draco with newfound appreciation. "I didn't know you were so good at astronomy."
Draco shrugged modestly. "My mother taught me a lot when I was younger. It's always been something I enjoy."
Helena hesitated for a moment before asking, "Did your mother choose your name because of a constellation?"
Draco nodded. "Yes, she did. She always loved the stars and the stories behind them."
Helena's curiosity piqued. "Can you show me where it is?"
Draco smiled, pleased by her interest. "Of course." He adjusted the telescope and pointed it towards a specific part of the sky. "There it is, Draco. It's part of the constellation of the dragon, Draco."
Helena peered through the telescope, marveling at the sight. "It's beautiful," she whispered. "I can see why your mother chose it."
Draco nodded, a hint of pride in his voice. "She always said it was a strong name, fitting for a Malfoy."
Helena looked up at him, her eyes reflecting the starlight. "It suits you," she said softly. "You're strong, Draco. Even if you don't always feel it."
Draco looked back at her, his usual guarded expression softening. "Thank you, Helena. That means a lot."
Draco, sensing that they were on a night where the conversation could be deeper, asked, "Helena, why couldn't you concentrate earlier? You excel in all your subjects."
Helena looked at the sky before responding. "I had a nightmare about my father, about his last day. I've never told anyone the reasons for his illness. It's something that gives me a feeling of sadness and also of revenge."
"Revenge? Why?" Draco asked, genuinely curious.
Helena looked at him and, after a few moments, decided that Draco might be one of the few who could understand, even if what she was about to say might make him feel bad about his family. She took a deep breath and began to explain.
"During the first war against Voldemort, my parents were part of the Order of the Phoenix. One night, during a battle against two Death Eaters, one of them, Evan Rosier, cast a curse at my father that he couldn't dodge. It was an infection that grew slowly. At first, everything seemed fine, but no treatment was found. About three years ago, my father was admitted to the hospital. He stayed there for a year, but no cure was found. My nightmare was about the day the infection finally took over."
Draco listened intently, his expression serious. He could sense the weight of her words and the pain behind them. "I'm sorry, Helena," he said softly, genuinely feeling her pain.
Helena nodded, appreciating his sympathy. "It's been hard. I guess that's why I find comfort in the stars. They remind me of him, of the times we spent together before everything changed."
Draco looked up at the night sky, his thoughts conflicted. He understood the burden of legacy and the pain of losing a parent, even if their circumstances were different. "Thank you for sharing that with me. I know it can't be easy."
Helena gave a small, sad smile. "Thank you for listening. It's been a long time since I talked about it."
Draco and Helena said their goodbyes, sensing that their conversation had reached a natural pause. Helena knew she needed rest; tomorrow would be her first class with her ancestor.
Returning to the Ravenclaw Tower, she paused before the imposing door that led to the common room. The bronze eagle knocker seemed almost to watch her as she approached. It posed its riddle, and Helena, accustomed to the practice, quickly solved it, allowing her entry.
The Ravenclaw common room was a circular, airy space filled with the soft glow of enchanted lanterns. The walls were lined with tall, arched windows that offered a breathtaking view of the night sky and the surrounding grounds of Hogwarts. Bookshelves brimming with ancient tomes and modern texts alike stood against the walls, while cozy armchairs and elegant tables were scattered about, inviting students to study or converse.
In the center of the room stood a grand marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw, her serene gaze and regal bearing inspiring wisdom and calm. Helena walked over to the statue and gazed up at it, feeling a familiar pang of longing and pride. Her father's words echoed in her mind: "You are the rightful heir of a proud family legacy. Your strength comes from your family and your convictions. Always fight for what you believe is right."
Helena took a deep breath, drawing strength from the statue's presence and her father's encouragement. The weight of her heritage felt lighter, more manageable. With a renewed sense of purpose, she turned away from the statue and made her way up the spiral staircase to the girls' dormitory.
Entering the dormitory, she found the room quiet and peaceful, her fellow Ravenclaws already asleep or quietly reading in their beds. She slipped into her own bed, pulling the curtains closed around her. The soft, familiar surroundings of her dormitory brought a sense of comfort, and she allowed herself to relax.
As she settled under the covers, her thoughts drifted back to her upcoming meeting with her ancestor. She knew it would be challenging, but she felt ready to face it. With a final glance at the night sky through the window, she closed her eyes and let sleep claim her, the words of her father lingering in her mind like a protective charm.
The next morning unfolded normally. Helena arrived at the breakfast hall with a smile, accompanied by her best friend Lena. She nodded to her friends from Gryffindor and offered a barely noticeable smile to a certain Slytherin.
At noon, as she was about to enter the Great Hall for lunch, Harry stopped her. "Can we talk outside, just the two of us?" he asked quietly.
Helena raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Sure, Harry. What's on your mind?"
Harry took her by the arm and led them both outside the main entrance, making sure that nobody was in sight. They sat down on a bench near the side of the Great Hall's walls. From there, they had a beautiful view of the mountains, the Black Lake, and, of course, the boathouse—the place where every first-year student first discovers the castle.
After they sat down, Helena turned to Harry, encouraging him to continue with his questions.
Harry glanced around before replying, "How's the start of the year been for you?"
Helena shrugged, trying to keep the conversation light. "Everything's fine. Classes are going well, and it's good to be back." Helena stopped, and looked at Harry who had a strange look on his face, so she continued "But I feel like there's something else you want to ask."
Harry hesitated, then took a deep breath. "I've seen you on the Marauder's Map a few times in the evenings, wandering around the castle. It got me a bit worried."
Helena's heart skipped a beat, but she kept her expression neutral. "Are you spying on me, Harry?"

hi sophie! after this week’s episode, what did u think abt gerri? shed been kind absent for the first two and this episode starts with logan wanting her out. i was kinda relieved to see the siblings brought her in to help deal with all that but im wondering where that leaves her. by far it wasn’t the focus of the episode but i found it very interesting the looks and interactions between roman and gerri post roman trying to fire her and logans death. im low key worried shell get stuck in the super sidelines like what happened w marcia post s2.
Hi! And god, yeah, I feel for Gerri a lot. She's really been put in an impossible situation, not just since Logan fired her through Roman (although I imagine that'll be at least temporarily swept under the rug as the family navigates the events around Logan's death), but really since she was made Interim CEO in the aftermath of Kendall's coup in the s2 finale. Her stepping up and into the role was what she wanted, of course, but I can't imagine she had any concept of how much that would shift her dynamic with Logan from close counsel to effectively an enemy.
It would never have mattered how much she toed the company line or bowed down to Logan, her taking the seat he clearly views as his throne and the place as even temporary heir was never going to work out for either of them. Logan's power within the family and business comes from his position after all, and while I imagine the ultimate intent was always to get rid of Gerri (the glass cliff has been well talked about around this show, and applies almost equally to Gerri and Shiv), even that temporary loss of face is the sort of pill Logan would rather choke on than swallow.
It's interesting to think about it in the context of her relationship with Roman, because I do think Logan was more offended by being blindsided by it than he was the fact that Roman and Gerri had some sort of relationship. He doesn't seem to mind his children having intimate relationships with people in his counsel - Shiv and Tom obviously, even if he ended up in counsel after the fact, but also I'd argue Kendall and Frank who have a quasi father-son relationship - but the difference is he knows the ins and outs of those and wields his own power in them. He uses Frank on Kendall, just as he uses Tom against Shiv, but if he didn't know about Gerri and Roman, it made him powerless in controlling that dynamic.
Making Roman fire Gerri was two birds with one stone. It was his way of ousting Gerri from her seat on his throne, but also his way of re-establishing his own dominance over his children's relationships with the - so to speak - King's Court which is made up by the inner circle.
Gerri's obviously felt burned by that, which J Smith Cameron played so beautifully, but her refusal to engage emotionally with Roman in the aftermath of Logan's death is a really interesting shift. It juxtaposes pretty nicely against the way Tom comforted Shiv and Frank comforted Kendall - king's court advisors the siblings are both technically also on the outs with - but I suspect also points towards Gerri's intentions. She wants to stay on as CEO, which means re-establishing the line between her and Roman is crucial. Currently, she still has the power, she's still got her seat, in theory, she hasn't been ousted, and the power shift in the s3 finale has limited Roman, Shiv and Kendall's power. If she's going to keep what she has, she can't really provide pathways to power for the heirs, y'know?
What that actually looks like though from here on out is anyone's guess, but I don't think she'll be sidelined. If anything, I think she's more likely to become the leader again of the Court with Karl, Frank, Karolina and Hugo, especially as she marks a continuation of power that no longer exists.
I don't know though! What do you all think?
#j was so great in that ep#she was so right to shut roman down but also it was brutal#they're such griefstruck kids#gerri kellman#gerri x roman#hbo succession#gerri + logan#i also do suspect gerri and logan had a thing in the past#which further muddies all the waters for those dynamics#succession 4.03#succession spoilers#succession meta#welcome to my ama

Hi, it's Secret Identity!Alastor AU anon again because I really love talking about Alastor potential that I know the real show will never showcase satisfyingly:
I basically just thought, why not let The Radio Demon & Alastor identity dichotomy be a little more Wizard of Oz & Oscar Diggs yanno? While no, he isn't powerless and could still theoretically still punch above his weight class, he wouldn't do so without great risk, and would generally go to great lengths to reduce the risk while maximizing the gains. Less raw power, more tricks, strategies and staging, every trick in his playbook is one he knows how to use well and adapt on the fly. A balancing act on a knife's edge. The Radio Demon would sorta be regarded as kinda like, either the guy that can help you out for a price or the roving boss fight that's gonna bulldoze you hard (sometimes because you pissed him off, sometimes because you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, could be anything for all the public knows), but until you're there in the moment you have No Idea what The Radio Demon's whims or intentions are towards you, and your best hope is to just avoid them, if you can.
Another thing about animal survival strats, is how lots of animals (prey and predator alike) will make themselves look bigger than they really are to discourage and ward off predators from trying anything funny, same concept with Alastor building up the Radio Demon's reputation and legend. The Radio Demon, terrifying, mysterious and untouchable, a voice on the airwaves, a half-remembered song, either your salvation or your doom. Kinda like fae rules in a way or something? Not to muddy the lore, no actual fae stuff, just the metaphor. Less Black and White morality and more Blue and Orange nuanced personal codes that make no sense but to the person themself pls lmao.
Also idk, I saw a post that mentioned that Alastor would've been better suited as a Peryton (a maneating bird-deer monster, even though it was made in 1957) instead of a closed-culture thing. He doesn't need wings either, designwise as to not infringe on Husk's silhouette, maybe he lost them as a result from a injury from an old fight? He's probably had plenty of those and not all of them were winners, he's made mistakes despite his best efforts probably, he could theoretically be hiding whatever's left of them under his jacket with padding and magic, similarly to how people headcanon he hides his tail with his jacket. Like... He's been in hell a while, and was involved and present for a great/relatively long upheaval of Hell's sinner's power structure, and if he's not untouchable, that means he's got the scars to prove it (and the ones that gave them are, probably no longer around). Idk, I could see that his allying with Charlie & her hotel project (and thus by proxy, Hell's Ruling Family, even if Charlie is having some issues with her dad, she's still Lucifer's daughter ffs) works twofold as building up the Radio Demon's mythos more, shooting for the moon, and Alastor trying to get a little more security for himself, some breathing room from something perhaps? Or who knows, maybe he's just actually tired (he wouldn't show it or spin it like that however).
Also, even though I know Alastor is in hell for a reason obviously, but I remember when the 'Day in the Life' comic dropped and I found it interesting that he just kinda, saved that sheep lady just because, no favors or repayment asked either, he just bodies the butcher guy (butchers the butcher) and then walks off. It could be an interesting layer, especially if it was an impulsive spur of the moment thing. Also Charlie & company's limited interactions with The Radio Demon through proxies & the Radio & his broadcast shows, and then a different but still reminiscent regular interactions with Alastor himself and vice versa. And I dunno, maybe it could spin out into something like, Alastor directly interacting more regularly with Radio Demon interests & other people AS HIMSELF while ALSO playing the part of the Radio Demon starts the blur the lines a bit over time.
Alastor doing a lot of this shit in the name of survival and the assurance of security, rather than boredom, could be interesting? Constant state of fight or flight, the stage never ends, maybe this was a mistake. The terrifying ordeal of being known, one of the things that could be called back about the comic but changed, instead of being so known and fear that people flee him on sight, what about Alastor keeping everyone at arm's length unless he's set & planned the scene to a T, usually a fight or a dealmaking or whatever, but would generally keep to himself unless it's Radio Demon business. But with the Hazbin crew, he really doesn't have that option with how it was set up, and now has to play another part he hasn't really played since he died up on Earth, himself (while also playing the Radio Demon in the background). Idk, somethingsomething potential?
An aside thing bc idk where to put it, I kinda like the idea that Sinners are just as mortal as hellborn but with maybe a better wolverine xmen but magic healing factor to keep the stakes of death and fighting in hell an actual threat instead of, 'oh who cares, nobody can really 'die' unless it's 'angel weapons' or dramatic enough.'
Okay this wasn't supposed to be that long but it kept going, and it meandered in even further AU, also like, idk if it's too fuzzy, this ended up being semi-stream of consciousness plot hook/char progression setup practice written at 5am lol.
Definitely love all of this, and I'm super into the idea of Peryton!Alasator because they're incredibly cool and massively underrated, but I've got to throw out the obligatory reminder that Wendigo aren't a closed culture thing. Controversial yes, closed culture no. That said, Vivzie's still full of shit to say "Oh, he's got Wendigo elements!" when she's clearly just latching onto it because Wendigo = spoopy. Man's literally as far as you can get from Wendigo country without standing in the gulf.
Everything else about this? 10/10, good shit.

I've touched a bit about it on Discord but yeah, about your green-eyes theory: what if the Clam doesn't suck the life out of green-eyed humans, but it gives all its power to them? Can you imagine? It would be even worse than Nell!! Or if Frederick has so much knowledge (even if it's only 1 time in a blue moon), he would be able to guide the Pastel Princesses to their Mom's homeland :'D ! (among other things)
-> this already touched in discord actually, and first of all I am really sorry to put off on halt for too long and decides to let go perfectionism of long post and trying to summarize instead. Here my Answer: I could totally imagine it! New AU of Oracle!Frederick [imagine blondie Apollo, the greek god of prophecies - that's what I imagine him will be like TBH]. Oracle!Frederick with the power of the Omniscient Clam now has 'unlimited knowledge' that could answer any question each full moon night (like a werewolf curse?) which make him kinda lost his sanity and becomes 'enlightened' to answer the asker at that night, and at the end of the QnA session he living up his 'little prince' final scene of 'convulsed as he's like dying' - which might be worse than Nell's convulsion, but fortunately the Rose (Gwen) could calms him down given the time. So there's the gist of Oracle!Frederick, he'll give answers to eager to be cured or much needed cure (like Abbi, Renée, Sally) and leads the Pastel Family to their mother's homeland but with good intention of civilization exchange [remember Lilyth's Diary part 1? the Islander hope Jack gives new knowledges but as he's not bright - welp - but this time probably?!]
TIMELINE SENTENCES OF THE ORACLE!FREDERICK
During cleanup scenes after big conflict resolved, Frederick that princess carried awaken Gwen to escape meet Jack with the Clam outside
the Clam somehow gives off it's power to Frederick (how it transferred could make him truly a plant boy by giving wreaths of laurels in his head like Apollo)
Leland taking over the Clam but found out it's lost power, the Clam as powerless (except still could communicate) mocked him
starting by Gwen, everyone starts protecting Oracle!Frederick espc the CPC
CPC invites Frederick to be their official newest member, the night the Clam could give answer is the same night of his Slumber party
Everyone declines the offer of Omniscient chance, instead encouraging Frederick to understanding his power more
including Nell, which have chat about how similar they are as used to be locked up and have premonition ability ~ which for Frederick to be truly safe is him being an Oracle should be hidden and he should life normally doing what he wants
what Frederick wants is the same with what everyone encourages, living ordinary but happily with people that cares him espc Gwen. Although he still want to help others and as being Oracle with unlimited power, he could now help the CPC members find the cure of their curse although with limitations the same as the Clam
the conclusion end: Frederick learns that his power as Oracle like the Clam, which he used to help people secretly in safe Haven of CPC in the Pastel Kingdom - but the after effect when using the Clam power is like the little prince scene each time he's using knowledge to answer the asker, he'll look as is he's dying.. which where Gwen and others there to Calms him down to sleep.
in the far/near future Frederick 2ill be the wiseful king that living up his meaning name as a "peaceful ruler" - with curse problem kinda fixed while his existence is a well-kept secret, he living normally as possible, together with Gwendolyn and the family they build together
#cursed princess club#theory#Oracle!Frederick#I am sorry for putting off quite long there#Also hope it quite satisfying answer there?

ROSE MOON: HISTORY, INSPO, AND THOUGHTS.
RoseMoon has been a gigantic part of my life and art journey. It's my personal project, and with the help of my friends I've been able to further advance the story. But RoseMoon has grown up with me, and I doubt it will stop anytime soon.
But all that mushy gushy stuff aside I want to go through some of the ways RoseMoon has grown, not only artistically, but lore, length, character and world building, all that good stuff!
It went through a lot of phases, but here's the highlights!
RoseMoon first started with me around 10 years at the time making a silly little cat oc. Her name was Star, a warriors cat with blue fur red eyes and big fluffy wings.
I was weird as a kid...
Star quickly became a human and I NEVER stopped drawing her, I gave her friends, siblings, a partner and some issues.
Up until year 7 when I discovered the lovely realm of MYCTS. Ranboo, Turbo, Tommy, Dream, Snapnap, I was OBSESSED. My art had moved from digital to traditional, and granted, it still kinda sucked.
Fanart helped me improve a lot.
Just before year 8 I discovered The Owl House and made more OCS with inspiration from the cast.
Thus, Sasha, Melody, Grey, Aspen, Dreki, Valarie were born. At this time Star had grown into a full kickass demon assassin. Then I made her a guy. And that was Mio (then Ronnin) My oldest oc by far!
I moved halfway through year 8
It was a lot for me, but I dove headfirst into making the first chapters of RoseMoon, then called Serenity. It was a huge comfort for me.
Serenity was about a shape shifting assassin named Ronnin traveling through universes. He got stuck in the demon universe and got taken in by a demon Valarie and a little dragon named Dreki.
Ronnin made friends with an energetic boy named Greyson and a Kind yet scary girl named Melody, and made enemies with a prince Aspen and his demi-god friend Alistair. Ronnins main goal was to get back to his human friend, Sasha.
Then I found ROTTMNT, which heavily influenced my style and the world of my OCS. It was much similar to RiseTMNT but different.
No mutants or Yokai, just demons and humans living separated from each other in an underground and above ground city, both much like Boston and New York mashed together.
Sasha reappeared as Quinn.
After the suggestion of my friend I made Melody, Mio, Grey, and Dreki adopted siblings and Quinn their honorary sister, I later just changed that to their adopted sister.
Aspen was now the Apprentice of a god in the form of a wolf named Plush.
Then one day in school I was bored, my art had steadily improved the past years so I designed a new OC
Cal.
At first his father was just a mean old man who kicked him out to live with his sister and niece, Sam and Lily and he stayed like that for a while.
After creating Cal I overhauled the entire story, keeping most characters relationships the same but further expanding on the Gods, the world around them, their lore, I did a lot of world building in this time. This was partially fueled by a trip to Arizona which inspired me a bit.
I decided I wanted the minor antagonists to still be Aspen and Plush, now aided by an Anxious snake named Adelia and a prissy and arrogant Kitsune named Zeph. But the major antagonist was Cals father. A cult leader who was possessed by an evil thing, and he wasn't the first.
The cult dated back to before Plush became a god and lost everything. For Almost 50,000 years this thing was trying to become the one and only god, to take power and control of everything, for no reason. And the Gods are powerless to stop his influence no matter how hard they try. So the death goddess sends Plush to control the situation until they can find a permanent situation to the thing. Few things remain consistent, the topic of Gods, Family, Faith, and Assassins.
And that's where RoseMoon stands now.
Melody, Quinn, Mio, Grey, Dreki, Aspen, and Plush have all grown with me so much. But there is still a lot of work to be done.
As for now...
I'm very happy to announce that I've officially started working on the first few chapters of RoseMoon! I'm very excited to be finally writing all my characters after years of development!
RoseMoon begins, so look out for little teasers (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

My thoughts on... Captain Marvel 2019 (#6-11) "Falling Star"
So after the first arc I was pretty excited to see where they would take the story next. I really loved what they did with it as it had layed down some pretty interesting foundations. And man they did not waste the foundations they've layed. This second arc was a blast to read and managed to surprise me a lot! So the story picks up with Carol being back on the Avengers and dealing with Malekith who is launching an invasion on earth. Enchantress is part of Malekith's army and Black Widow & Bucky have trouble fighting her. Until Black Widow gets an opening, she goes for it but gets blasted away by Enchantress. But by doing so she sees a vision of the future, one where Dr. Strange defeats Enchantress along with Black Widow & Captain Marvel. Nat quickly calls up Carol and they soon team up with Dr. Strange. As they fight off hordes of Malekith's army, Enchantress arrives. She wants to end things here to prevent the vision from coming true. So she swaps the minds of Carol & Dr Strange, renderring them virtually powerless as they both do not have a grasp on each others powers. It's really interesting because they explore what Carol's and Strange's powers mean to them and how not having them affects them. It was pretty intriguing to see them touch upon that. Nat also made for a hillarious addition to the trio as she grows more annoyed by Carol's & Strange's bickering over figuring out each others powers. They try so hard to learn each other's powers but Carol realizes she doesn't need to try and be like Strange but instead do what she would do. She casts a spell that turns Enchantress' army of the undead against her that forces her to use all her magic to fight them off, which results in the mind swap spell being undone and her being defeated. This is where Carol's adventures with the Avengers end for now and we pick back up on her personal adventures. We pick back up with Carol fighting off some type of organic space ships reminiscent of the monster she fought in the first issue of this run. Things quickly go south as her powers don't work properly and she's a lot more weak to hits. However, a new hero comes to save the day, Star. Honestly I found her really suspicious when she got introduced, she came out of nowhere and had the same powerset as Carol. Regardless Star saves the day while Carol falls down unconcious due to her powers malfunctioning. Luckily Spider-Woman is able to save her in an amazing fashion. I really loved the panel layout and art of how she saved Carol, it was so cool and really showed off her moves. Hazmat is also on the scene to help with the threat. I'm glad she's back as she was a lot of fun in the first arc! After the battle it turns out there were unconcious kree pilots in the organic spaceships, Carol saves them but is aware something bad is going down with her powers and then the kree showing up.
After this she has one of the worst weeks of her life as her kree origins get revealed to the public and and a targetted media campaign against her starts to unfold. I was quite surprised by the pacing here as the way they presented the week was just extremely fast, personally I think it would've been a bit better if they had spent some more time on it. But i think the decision to make it super fast paced makes sense to show how fast the public turned against her. She gets fired from the military and decides to go back to her family home. She really questions whether or not she should still be a hero and if you should be a hero when the worlds hates you. Which are interesting questions to pose. She doesn't get to rest for long as Jessica Drew has invited over some friends to cheer up Carol. It was really fun to see all these heroes just hang out with each other and try to have a fun time. It really helps humanize them and it's just tons of fun to see them hanging around and have fun. Later in the evening when Carol is alone she gets visited by Minerva, a kree scientist. Now that she knows Carol is half kree she wants to protect her and ask Carol for help to protect her people from excitinction. Carol is suspicious of her as they have a long and troubled history but agrees to help her. Well at least she says she does, she's still very suspicious of her and decides to plant a tracker on her. And from here the story really starts to pop off. As she follows the tracker she comes across a secret lab under New York. Here it's revealed that she was the one making these alien monsters and setting them free in New York. Turns out it was a trap as they find the tracker together with a post it note saying hi to carol and they get attacked by yet another one of these alien monsters. Carol tries to fight it off but her powers keep failing her, luckily Star is there to save her once again. She decides to go with Tony to his lab for a medical check and they finally find out what's wrong. There is a device in Carol's chest that is reminiscent of kree tech. They don't know what the device does, only that it's there. With Carol knowing that's it's kree tech she decides to go back to Minnerva's secret lab to find out more. There she finds Minnerva almost dead with a message taunting Carol. She's able to save Minnerva in time and everything gets revealed. Turns out she was the one who exposed Carol being half kree to the public in order to drive her into a corner and to agree with her. However there was more to it. Minnerva had been working on a way to create a stronger kind of kree by fusing humans with kree dna in the hopes of them becomming superhuman. Lots of people volunteered but all of them were failures. Except one, however the fusion did not grant them powers as Minnerva has promised. So she had to come up with a solution, she infected Carol with a virus. The way this virus works is that its transmit the power of the host to someone else. Carol realizes that this someone else is Star and things start to make sense. Why she lost power, why she was her weakest when Star was around. Honestly it was such a crazy reveal and i just knew something shady was up with Star. However things would get more crazier.
Carol calls out to Star in the middle of time square and they have a stand off. Turns out Star is pretty damn evil and is using her influence to further turn the people against Carol. They start to fight but Star gets the upperhand quickly as she sipphons off Carol's powers. As they fight Carol has a hard time understanding why Star is doing all of this, what her motivations are. Regardless she decides to end things by ripping out the kree device in her chest so Star can no longer sipphon off her. But it's revealed that she has infected the entire city with the virus and is now sipphoning off them. Carol still doesn't get the why and then the truth gets revealed. Star is Ripley Ryan, the journalist who Carol saved and a spent a month with in the Nuclear Man's wasteland. Honestly this reveal was such a shock to me, I did not see it coming whatsoever. Suddenly it made a lot of sense as to how a media campaign against Carol took off so quickly. And also how she was able to manipulate her public image so much. She reveals that she was terrfied after the events in the wasteland. How she didn't sleep for weeks after and the trauma she was experiencing. She realizes just how weak you are in a world like this and that the only solution is to be like Captain Marvel. But she also sees Captain Marvel as part of the problem. She feels like Carol's actions create new victims each day, that her helping people prevents them from helping themselves and growing stronger because of it, that without her people would reach their true potential. I really like these motivations as it's quite an interesting viewpoint to have and it makes sense she has these viewpoints given her past with Carol.
Star continues to overpower Carol until Hazmat joins in to save Carol. She continues to be an absolute badass and amazing addition to this run! Star takes her out quickly and goes back to fighting Carol but gets stopped by a kid standing in front of her. The kid wants to protect Carol but Star pushes her away quite agressively. Carol uses this moment to grab Star and rip out the kree tech inside of her that's allowing her to sipphon them. The day gets saved and Carol has a really touching convo with the kid that protected her. They talk about her being half kree and she finally makes peace with that and accepts that she can just be open about it. It's great character development for Carol as she accepts more of this part that she's kind of trying to hide. The final panels of this arc show Star breaking out of the raft as she apparantly has turned into the reality stone. A pretty interesting change and I wonder what they'll do with that! This arc was amazing! I absoluty loved how you slowly uncover the truth behind Carol's power loss and Star. All of it makes so much sense and Star was a terrific villain. The twist of her being Ripley was so good and made so much sense. I loved how they even hinted at her despise of Carol at the end of the first arc and how that ultimately led to her becomming this incredible villain. Her motivations are pretty interesting. I loved their standoff in times square, it was an amazing fight with high personal stakes. Carol was once again reliving the trauma of her powerloss and Star was dealing with trauma in her own way and I love how they showed these differences in them both dealing with their trauma's and how it eventually shaped their character. Carol slowly coming to terms with her kree side was also really great character development to see although I wished they explored more of her struggle with that. It's part of why I wanted the week of her kree identity being exposed to be stretched out more. But regardless it was great to see her growth from that. I am glad that Spider-Woman & Hazmat continue to appear in this run. They're both amazingly fun characters and they add a lot of value when they appear. Whether it be as comic relief or as a good friend for Carol when she needs it. I also love how this run is able to have a lot human moments where there isn't crazy stuff happening but it's just Carol dealing with life and her friends being there to support her. It's really great to see and grounds these characters that sometimes seem invincible a lot. They may have all the powers in the world but in the end they struggle with all sorts of problems just like us. This comic continues to deliver and surprise me in so many ways. It's been a lot of fun so far and i can't wait what happens next as i'm really getting hooked to Carol and her stories. She's an incredibly awesome character and I'm glad that I'm learning more about her.

I know you said you want to tone down toh posting, but i just wanted to elabarate on the previous Darius ask, it's not negativity, but character musings based on what was implied, so i hope it's ok?
Like, imagine you are Darius, you've been building up your walls and being alone for a long, long, time, possibly decades. And maybe you even used to be a friendly kid, who loved taking up a 'leader' of the friend group role, so initially your new role is foreign for you, but now it is in the past, and you couldnt tell where your personality ends and where your mask begins.
But then you befriend this other Coven Head who is seemingly the opposite of you, but you grow close, and maybe you dont even notice it at first and dont realize that you started to actively care (i know many want Darius and Eberwolf to be longtime friends, but i think Eber being relatively recent fits better with the ER interactions?). Then your old school friend comes back into your life, and you start to care about the new Golden Guard too, and maybe there is a possibility of reconnecting with your other friends, and there are even others, who are not close to you, like Raine's students or Hunter's friends, but are involved in your circle, and your world starts to open up.
Then the DoU happens, and you are forced to come to terms with what your friends mean to you just as the world ends. And then the Collector's reign starts. And, eventually you are free, but turns out both the kid you started to care about and one of your best friends you've just started reconnecting with, were possessed by the same man who ruined your life and your mentor's life, and you were powerless and probably never got any closure with that man (because who knows how Belos will go down, but i doubt Darius would be involved). So how you deal with that?
And Collectors game would absolutely be Darius's worst nightmare because not just losing control and independence, but having the Coven Heads as his mindless puppets who exist for his will was 100% what Belos had wanted too (ok, a bit negativity, but the show writers really didnt think about all the implications with the Collector). If we speculate a little deeper than kids cartoon would, it wouldnt surprise if Darius would have tried to close off again, because that's the only way he knows how to deal with trauma, but hopefully with other adults talking him out of it eventually?
To end on a lighter note, i kinda also imagine silly post-finale where Darius is overwelmed with his new found family and social circle. Like, he gets sick and wants a day off, but people keep checking on him and trying to help, so he is annoyed because he can't rest because of them, but deep inside he is like those crying cats reaction images.
Oooh anon I'm eating this up. The horror of Darius finding out about possessed Hunter and Raine is so real. Once again having Belos harm his loved ones horribly while he himself was unable to do anything about it when things were just getting better again after all this time. Tho at this point I'd just want him to get his happy ending after all that's happened already.
This is how Darius stans can still win for him getting significance in the finale (/j)
Also I absolutely do not mind this. The main reason I want to talk less about toh is just that thinking about s3 makes me more upset at the writing than I should or want to be but I absolutely appreciate a thinkpiece like this, especially about Darius, haha.

Big damn personal rant after very little sleep and two large coffees; scroll on by as you like.
I forgive far too quickly and am so hasty to land in a neutral-to-positive mindset, when I need to let myself rage around and actually, be rightfully and righteously furious for a while. Oh, there are many many reasons, all linked with a life history of ADHD-masking and anxiety about taking up space, being seen as uncooperative, uncontained, and god forbid, needing to ask for anyone’s help. Knowing that is still at some distance from actively working at it - and why, indeed, would I want to start dismantling the coping mechanisms that have served me so well and gotten me through seriously awful shit, in the midst of a rising pile of stressors? I don’t have much of a gene for anger, but I do need to up-regulate it instead of letting it fester into bitterness.
This is sparked by the family-viction notice, BTW. I would not want to be the daughter in the situation, who must know that her father has evicted a 12-year tenant with two and a half months notice, so that she can move in. “I don’t feel good about it either,” was the landlord’s protest. I would bloody hope not. I am not remotely interested in arguments that “well, that’s the law.” It is a bad law, unjustly applied and subject to broad overreach from its original intention. There is not a single moral, ethical or reasonable argument to support the way it is applied. I did not ask him to contemplate how he would feel someone doing the same to his daughter, because a) I am too nice and b) I need landlord references, and must grit my teeth on that.
This eviction is the result of the student housing crisis in my city - never mind that I am also a student. Which means I am also dealing with my end of term Grad papers and presentations, getting my 120 undergrad students through their final papers, trying to sort out an unwanted job search/change, AND NOW having to completely dig out and uproot my life, all at the same time. That’s the mental and practical mountain. At the heart of my emotional reaction is the combined sense of being invaded in my home and utter powerlessness about it. Nightmare level stuff. Just after a parkade/car smash break-in, too. (/rant)
I am so easily set off by injustice. I’ll go full Mama Bear on behalf of others, and find resources and supports and case law, dammit. When I am the one affected by an unjust situation, though, my outward reaction is to squirm away from wrathful feelings (silver linings! neutral mind! you should actually thank the person for giving you the chance to grow...real classic victim-brain stuff), and immediately assure people that I’m fine, it’ll all work out, even better than before! and here are the possible solutions I have already found. Heaven forbid I should open the door to my parents’ tendency to grill me very hard for information or try to get me to perform an emotional reaction, just because they need to feel like they’re doing something and are needed. Let alone put any more goop on the shoulders of friends who are also dealing with their own goop.
Before I sign off on this rant I need to point out the incredible depth and long history of a handful of very dear friendships, which have let me stumble through learning to admit when I’m overwhelmed and pissed off and terrified and feeling bruised. The above is not about you. As you know, you’re not people that I need to be “on” for. You’re my people. Huge difference. Difference beyond words. You know who you are, and if it’s possible for me to fling any more armloads of appreciation and adoration at you, well, just tell me where and when.
And yeah, it’ll all work out, even better than before. Already have a pile of possible solutions. Many of them due to the abovementioned friends.

"but do you feel like a young god? / you know the two of us are just young gods / and we'll be flying through the streets with the people underneath / and they're running, running, running..."
AFFILIATION: The Seven of Styx SPECIES: Demigod CURRENT AGE: 28 CAMP YEARS: 2008-2014 ABILITIES: Technokinesis, ferrokinesis (minor, he can manipulate some metal but not in large quantities), and pyrokinesis. Specifically, his pyrokinesis is a rare, seldom seen gift that generally bodes ill. MAGICAL ITEMS: Pyrrha, his sword that he crafted for himself that can handle his fire and direct his flames. Even when not lit, it is hot as molten metal, though still strikes as fully-forged steel. [visual]
His engagement ring, made from gold given to him by his father as a reward after the war. Inlaid with garnet. When he touches the ring and thinks of Snow, hers warms up. Same thing happens to his own when roles are reversed. [visual]
BIOGRAPHY: cw for references of child abuse, forced institutionalization, violence
Life wasn't easy for James Sohr, middle child of the Sohrs, a humble family who came from a modest background. They were, by all appearances, a rather normal family.
Until little Jimmy started catching things on fire.
At first, his father just thought his child had gotten hold of matches. Until the next time. And the next time.
His mother stayed silent, too scared about what her secret affair might mean for her child. So, James never knew why he could do the things that he did. Only that it was bad. Only that it scared people. His father made him swear to stop.
And he did! He had innate control of his flames and kept them secret. Until a monster showed up on the playground and went after his little sister. He used his magic to burn the horrible creature that only he could see to a crisp. His father, who only saw the flames so close to his precious little girl, realized his son was too dangerous to be around normal people.
So, he had his son institutionalized.
It took a few years, James now eleven, before he was able to escape the institution. He hit the road and found his way to camp after being helped by a friendly satyr. At first, he was doubtful and suspicious of this whole thing. His father was a cruel man, his mother far too meek to have had an affair with a god.
Once at camp, his suspicions only seemed to be confirmed. Whispers flew around the camp about a harbinger, the fire bringer...he went unclaimed, and unclaimed, and unclaimed, until, finally: Hephaestus claimed his son. He took on a new name more representative of his heavenly father, in a bid to earn his favor.
Gem settled into his cabin and his family, but soon learned that even amongst his divine half-siblings, he was to be feared. His abilities were a warning, not a blessing. He took to keeping to himself and found others who kept to themselves too.
When he was finally chosen for a quest, he was still uncertain--but over the months, he bonded with his new found brothers. Until everything went horribly wrong. One died and their quest failed. Gem, jaded by this seemingly pointless and traumatizing mission, turned on his father and the gods to join the titans for the last year of the war.
At the last moment, though, his loyalty reared up again and Gem, in the final battle, fought on the side of the gods. Once it was over, he was rewarded for his loyalty, his father giving him a small block of gold to be used as he saw fit.
Unfortunately, the girl he loved didn't fair so well. Snow was instead stripped of her magic and forced to wander the world. Although just reunited with his brothers, Gem was compelled to follow her across the world. Forbidden from helping her, he could at least be her companion. And he was, until he had to step in.
He saw the horrible beast heading towards Snow and he couldn't not do anything. She was unarmed and powerless. He burned that fucking ram to a crisp.
In punishment, he and Snow were separated while she completed her last task. It has been seven long years, but the reunion means the gods have lived their banishment and the two are able to see one another again.
They have one more hurdle to cross before they can be together. Will they succeed or will the gods continue to meddle in their lives?
