He had a relatively smooth birth with his whole family present. His nursery is right next to his big brother Parker's room. The family couldn't be happier about this addition!

For the ask, Joe doesn't normally cook or bake, except for Tea's bday so happy bday Tea, hater of cake lover of pies (and Joes) Joe wakes up at like 3AM so she can't stop him from making her something. i totally understand the preference for the sound of concatenative vocal synths vs deep learning based ones (dl i find is often a lot weaker than concatenative, even in voicebanks meant for powerful singing. although they can also be more tonally expressive in ways concatenative struggles with. but of course sometimes you just want the metallic sound which is easier to get concatenatively compared to dl's more autotune-y noise) BUT i do often see people say its because theyre worried about more same-y sounding tuning from the auto pitch creation functions which i get but also it does make me giggle a little because have you forgotten the endless plug-and-play war going on from the past 20 years. have you forgotten the millions of untuned covers uploaded every day since the dawn of vocal synthesis. have you forgotten the autopitchwriter debate. the more things change the more things stay the same <3

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory spoilers:

(This is relevant to Star Wars I promise lol)

The ending of this season just makes Tech’s death that much more frustrating!!!

Like we, the audience, knew Brooklyn was alive, because that’s the way the story was set up. That’s the story we, as humans, like and understand and crave. We didn’t know when or how she was coming back, so it was still a surprise! And she lost an arm in the attack, so there were consequences! None of the tension or emotion was lost because she’s actually alive.

It just parallels Tech’s death so perfectly…except that in Chaos Theory they actually went with the story that both made narrative sense and satisfied the audience. There was still genuine pain and grief for her through the whole season, making her ‘death’ impactful (haha we didn’t even get that for Tech, so it was pretty much meaningless 🙃), but they’re still bringing her back into the story. It doesn’t feel forced or juvenile—it feels like the way the story is supposed to go.

It just feels like a kick in the teeth coming right on the heels of the end of TBB (mixing my metaphors a little lol) because yeah. This. This is exactly what I wanted: we get Tech back. He’s changed, irrevocably, but he’s back.

There just doesn’t feel like there was any point to Tech’s death except to hurt the audience—and it barely has any impact on the in-world story at all!!! A couple of almost throw-away lines over the whole third season. We don’t even see Crosshair finding out what happened.

TL;DR

The ending of the first season of Chaos Theory is exactly what I wanted to happen with Tech, and there’s no reason we shouldn’t have gotten him back.

My actual favorite fairytales are ones having to do with curses, getting turned into a beast, or accidentally/willingly/any-reason-ly marrying a beast or demon or monster. Prince Lindworm is one of my most favorite-est favorites. I had a pet corn snake at one point who I called Prince Lindworm (his real name was Slinky though). finished my soul hackers 2 replay yyayyy. i bought the story dlc and i liked the sidequests, the superboss was kinda disappointing though, not for gameplay, they were incredibly difficult, but like. i expected at least a little lore or nana involvement in the end and there was neither which was sort of odd.

I was tagged by the very lovely @kirschewine and I figured "why the hell not?" So I have a bit of a Shakarian fic coming up, provided I can find the right voice for my Shep and Garre-Bear. I also like doing bits and can't write chronologically so hear y'all go. No warnings as of yet.

"You were dead." Vakarian said as if this were explanation enough.

"I got better," Shepard cracked as she leaned against the viewfinder of the Citadel beside him. "What does my untimely demise have to do with you putting down someone you used to call a friend?" Cerberus had been generous enough to upgrade her hearing to such an extent that she could hear the fine-tuning of turian subharmonics. She had no idea what they meant, and had no intention of embarrassing her friend by asking him to translate, but she could hear them. Right now, Vakarian made a quiet noise between a tiger's chuff and the bellow of a crocodile.

"Because your death was what brought me to Omega, and to him, in the first place." He replied without tearing his eyes from the skyline. Shepard said nothing after the fact. She waited for him to continue if he wanted. "I tried to do things the way you taught me," Vakarian began after a quiet sigh. "And for the most part, things were going well. Pallin didn't have to lecture me, we were doing good work by cleaning up Saren's mess. But then, the Normandy went down. After you were gone, all anyone wanted to do was forget what happened and move on with their lives. Things got...tense. The Council wrote the Reaper threat off despite being right there. They were right fucking there and they just dismissed it, dismissed you." His voice, both tones, trembled with anger. "I'd had enough. So I left and I headed to Omega and I formed a team, just like you did. We wanted to bring at least a little bit of hope back to the galaxy, but you saw how that ended." Shepard continued to keep silent, but lifted a hand to rest on her friend's arm. He didn't acknowledge the touch, but he didn't shy away from it either. He sighed again, deeper than before, a low and mournful keen thrumming in his sub-vocals. "Ten good people dead and gone, and all of it because I pushed them too hard." His mandibles clicked to his jaw and his head bowed. "All because I tried to be what you were to all of us, and failed." Shepard didn't know why, but something urged her to grip his shoulder and make him look at her. When he did, she surprised not only him, but herself as well by wrapping an arm around the nape of his neck and tugging him down to hug him.

"You goddamn idiot," she muttered into his throat. "You goddamn reckless, idealistic seven feet of dumbass turian." Vakarian wasn't sure why she was hugging him or calling him an idiot, but he wasn't about to question her either. "You didn't fail shit, Garrus. You had a bitch ass coward sell you out and then you nearly died with your team. Sounds like you got me down perfectly, buddy."

This show's first season came out as I was adjusting to PTSD and watching what Jinx experiences, when she's triggered, was such a strange comfort. And you're right, they perfectly show that her murderous tenancies are the problem, not her mental illness. As someone who has struggled with mental health problems for most of my life as well as the stigmatisation and exclusion that often comes with it, Jinx has always felt like a fantastic exploration and representation of those things. We need more characters written like her.

I am once again screaming over the way they portrayed Jinx’s mental illness in Arcane.

The blackouts?? Jinx referring to her current self and past self in third person, as if neither of them are really her??? The fact that her biggest trigger is being/feeling alone???? I mean, every scene or, at least, almost every scene where she’s by herself, she has an episode. It’s consistent; shit doesn’t just happen at random or because it moves the plot along, and the way her episodes happen is also consistent. She has habits. Mylo’s always the devil on her shoulder; she sees images in her art style; she hears voices that change from whispers to noises so loud she can’t hear herself think, and it all scares her so much that if she has a gun in her hand, she always shoots.

Idk, I just think it’s nice to have some accurate representation of what this shit looks like.

hello, i made a deal with god and so i watched one (1) episode of shameless today after my 2 month long ban from the shameless factory. here are my thoughts on 10x8

first things first, i fucking called it i called a mickey ian marriage for spousal privelege from testifying against each other like 4 fucking seasons ago, yes it was for a different thing but i called it none the less

i feel bad for mickey bc he has problems with not feeling like anyone loves him (fuck u terry!!!) and ian hesitating to sign the marriage license after realizing they didn't need to to stay out of prison must've been just like hell for him i'm so sorry

i also totally understand why ian's hesitant about marriage!! his parents are........you know. his sister got married once after knowing a guy for like 4 hours, had a messy divorce, got engaged to another guy at the divorce lawyer meeting, then the wedding got called off moments before the alter bc her fiancee had been using meth again for months without telling her. like, that's not a great endorsement for marriage. it's a big deal i get it, but maybe step outside the marriage license office to have this conversation lol

although i'm not surprised mickey punched ian about maybe not wanting to marry him for all of the above reasons, you can't be punching him mickey!! when yall were teenagers and just fought everyone it was like, yeah okay, they're dumb teenagers who just fight everyone, but you're adults now! use your words mickey! if you want to wife him up you can't be punching him jesus christ

i also thought this was a pretty good lip episode. he's kind of wanted to be a dad for a long time and i think he's pretty good at it, helping taking care of 4 younger siblings really helped you out man
