Isha’s death was needlessly tragic and completely pointless. And that is the point of it.

Because Isha represents all the children in Zaun who died pointless deaths.

Yes, she isn’t mentioned at all in the next couple of episodes, because neither were any of the other children. Take the overlord’s son who Jayce killed. He was so easily forgotten by the next episode that it took the woman mentioning him in season 2 for me to remember he even existed. But to her she never forgot. She never stopped thinking of him. Not until the very end. Even when the rest of the world did.

Isha is our view into what that feels like. The frustration, the pain, the desperation of wanting her to be mentioned, to hear her name, anything. Any proof she even existed at all. But like the countless others before her, her spark was snuffed out before it could truly begin to burn.

Sevika and Jinx were the only people to truly know Isha for who she was. They knew her dreams, her inspirations, her favorite games. They knew about her bravery. Her rebellious nature. How deeply she admired her older sister. They knew just what a wonderful, sweet, bright little girl Isha was.

And then she was gone, and there was barely a trace she was there in the first place.

Because the world never got a chance to meet her. To be graced by her smile, her excitement, her loyalty and devotion to those she cared about. The world never knew how wonderfully whimsical she could be.

To the world, Isha was another nameless child lost to war. Her existence summed up to a statistic. She had her moment when she sacrificed herself to save Jinx, but even then, she was still just a body on the battlefield at the very end. At least the Noxians gave her a proper burial, which is so much more than the countless others like her were given.

So yes, it is pointless. It’s frustrating. It feels so jarring and sudden and unnecessary and unfair. Because if she had been given a fair shot at life, a world in which she didn’t have to live with the oppression of Piltover and the horrors of war, maybe she would have meant something more.

And that’s why her death is so, so much more important than it appears.

I'm pasting this from a reply I made on an Ao3 comment but it originated in a convo with my girlfriend, so here we go...

I swear being a lightcannon fan is like it's like finding a fucking unicorn, a live fucking unicorn, in your back garden. You scoff at first, that's the silliest thing, there's no way that's a real unicorn, that doesn't make any sense. That can't actually work, right?

But then you squint and nope it's a real unicorn and the more you look at this unicorn the more you realize it's the most beautiful goddamn thing you've ever seen. It's just so perfect, you can't believe you didn't see it before, this unicorn was right there all along.

And then you're babbling at your friends about this unicorn but no-one will believe you and either they roll their eyes at you and call you crazy or awkwardly smile until you shut up about the unicorn, and there's even another subset or two of people who are irrationally angry at you for talking about unicorns, shut the fuck up, that unicorn is not real only my pegasus is real, they just built a monument to it in the town square, and it's better than your unicorn and you should go away and die. And so you're left completely alone, wondering if you're just crazy, if nobody else can see the unicorn, if it's even real or not and even if it is, if you're somehow invalid for liking your unicorn better than that other guy's pegasus because nobody else seems to be able to see it.

Until you find out that wow, there are actually other people out there who not only can see this unicorn, but they've seen it all along. They totally agree with you, that's a real fucking unicorn and it's amazing. And in fact everyone who actually takes the time to check out the unicorn falls in love with it, because it's ridiculous, impossible, but once you know you KNOW how perfect it actually is, how much sense it makes, how RIGHT it feels. It's the best thing ever and once you've seen it, you KNOW, and the only sad thing is that it's so hard to get anyone else to look.

That's kinda the vibe of being team Lightcannon, yanno?

Hi, can u do Vi x Reader. Where Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, and Reader were hanging out at Caitlyn’s place. Reader went to get some food and when she almost came back, she saw few Scottish baby kittens. There were 4 and all of them have light and baby blue eyes. She took them by putting them inside her jacket and to make sure they are warm. When she came back, she slowly open the door and saw Vi, Jinx and Caitlyn hanging out in the kitchen. Caitlyn was about to help her but noticed something moving in her jacket. She said, what is in ur jacket and then Vi and Jinx got curious. Reader said nothing. Vi look her suspicious till she close on her. Reader immediately yelled, they don’t have a mother and Vi open her jacket and saw 4 baby Scottish babies. Jinx jumped excitedly and took one.

It was very weird that you were able to show up out of the blue with like, four kittens

Especially since Zaun is really not a good place for small kitten to roam around

But they’re cute so they can stay

In reality, Cait is probably going to have to take any of the ones you know you can’t ensure that they’ll have a safe home

But for now, all you get to play with some kittens lol

Since there’s one for each of you, all of you get to really focus you attention on one and let them chill and crawl all over you and just explore your place

Jinx already had grown pretty attached to hers, Cait’s kitten liked sticking her nose literally everywhere and running around, and yours and Vi’s were very cutely cuddling with each other while you and her were also cuddling with each other <3

In the end, you and Vi decided to keep one for yourselves while sending the other three to Piltover with Cait since keeping one cat safe, happy, and healthy in Zaun was going to be hard enough

It was really sad to see the kittens go but at least you know they’re going to a place where they have better odds of survival and being adopted by families that can give them the best life!

This show's first season came out as I was adjusting to PTSD and watching what Jinx experiences, when she's triggered, was such a strange comfort. And you're right, they perfectly show that her murderous tenancies are the problem, not her mental illness. As someone who has struggled with mental health problems for most of my life as well as the stigmatisation and exclusion that often comes with it, Jinx has always felt like a fantastic exploration and representation of those things. We need more characters written like her.

I am once again screaming over the way they portrayed Jinx’s mental illness in Arcane.

The blackouts?? Jinx referring to her current self and past self in third person, as if neither of them are really her??? The fact that her biggest trigger is being/feeling alone???? I mean, every scene or, at least, almost every scene where she’s by herself, she has an episode. It’s consistent; shit doesn’t just happen at random or because it moves the plot along, and the way her episodes happen is also consistent. She has habits. Mylo’s always the devil on her shoulder; she sees images in her art style; she hears voices that change from whispers to noises so loud she can’t hear herself think, and it all scares her so much that if she has a gun in her hand, she always shoots.

Idk, I just think it’s nice to have some accurate representation of what this shit looks like.
