part two to this | angst | part three coming soon...
later that evening dinner was served and simone was bathed with her pjs on as she settled into the couch under a mountain of blankets holding her tablet while face timing simon who answered on the first ring with a smile that was reserved just for his little girl.
"hello, princess. i miss you already, are you all for bed?"
it hurt hearing simon talk so quietly like that and seeing him so torn up made your heart sink to your stomach and all the way down to your toes like a weight on fishing line. "i am! do you think you can you come over for dinner? mom made your favorite!" simone asked.
from where you stood in the kitchen you heard the silence fill the video call as you glanced down and sure enough you were making what you were so used too, even after months of the separation you were still doing things for him to make his life easier.
simon mulled the question over his head, and while he does respect you, his daughter wanted to see him and that came before anything.
"tell your mum i'll be there soon, i love you."
simone hung up her tablet and put it in her cubby before running to the kitchen, her lips tugged into a bright smile as she clapped her little hands together. "daddy is coming for dinner!" she announced.
when you and simon had separated she had asked if you still loved her daddy and without a second of hesitation you told her you always would no matter what but she was too young for the rest of it.
she came closer to stand by you, her arms wrapping around your legs as you bent down to kiss the top of her head earning a glare so similar to simon's. "my hair mommy! i want to look pretty for daddy!"
you couldn't help but chuckle a little and crouch down to her height as you took hold of her hands. "baby girl, you are the prettiest already to him, why don't you put on a dress then?" you suggested softly.
simone skipped off to her bedroom down the hallway as you finished up dinner feeling a soft flutter in your belly, like butterflies while you waited for your date to show up, but in this case it was your husband.
when he had flat out refused to sign the papers you thought about using one of the fighting moves on him that he showed you but instead you left your shared home with your daughter.
simon truly never felt like his nickname until the first night being alone without his girls giggling and doing each other's makeup, now it's just silence that keeps him awake, it was all overwhelming.
ten minutes later simone came strutting from her room complete in the princess attire, the glittering crown she wore matched the array of purples in the dress and the plastic shoes as well. "is he here yet?"
"not yet baby, i'm sure he will be soon though. do you still have that card for him?" you asked while setting the small dining room table up for three, the image was enough to make your heart flutter.
perhaps you and simon could work this out.
the card simone bought in the store as you shopped for dinner was something she hasn't been able to stop talking about since then nor could she stop bragging to everyone at the store about her dad.
she zoomed to her room then back to the kitchen holding the white envelope with a grin as she bounced back and forth unable to hide the excitement even though she just got done spending a weekend with simon, he truly was her hero and number one, same for you.
to pass time you cleaned up while simone got on her tablet to watch an episode of her show before asking you were simon was.
an hour passed and no calls or texts, dinner was now cold and you were irritated and disappointed. heating the food up you ate in silence with simone who kept glancing at the door with sad eyes.
you wanted to punch simon in the throat for getting her hopes up and you wondered what it was that kept him from coming over because you knew that him seeing simone was the most important thing to him.
another phone call and more unread texts later you finally helped simone out of her dress and into some pjs before tucking her into bed and reading a story. "why didn't daddy come? does he love us?"
her question made you tense as you perched on the side of her bed, simon and love could be like oil and water sometimes, his version of love was never something like this so he tried his best.
"of course, he does honey bug. i think he got caught up into something which happens, he loves you so very much sweet girl."
her blue eyes watered before flowing over down her cheeks as she clutched the rainbow teddybear simon gave her a few months ago.
even at her tender young age simone was beyond smart.
"why can't daddy live with us?" her question wasn't aimed to hurt but you could feel the physical pain bloom in your chest then your throat formed a lump as you fought back the tears as well.
you cleared your throat and brushed her hair back. "it's a lot baby, ok? just get some rest and tomorrow is a new day." you told her and kissed the top of her head before standing up.
making sure her nightlight was turned on you had to fight off the torrent of tears that threatened to break like a dam as you listened to simone sniffle and bury herself deeper under her blankets.
once the door shut with a soft click you quickly made it to the living room and tapped at the screen, each one a flame adding to the raging fire building inside you from simone being stood up.
as much as you hated to say it you were used to it, from the beginning of the relationship there were enough missed dates and anniversaries to fill years old calendar you were sure but you love simon enough to over look all of that, none of it mattered.
that is until you had simone and while it was just you at first you couldn't stand to see your daughter go through the same feelings or have consuming thoughts of whether he'll come or not.
voicemail. again.
you dropped on the couch and rubbed your face before dialing john's number.
voicemail.
soap, same thing.
taking a steadying breath you pushed aside the what-ifs that you've battled for years and tried to keep calm. why the hell isn't he answering his phone? you kept repeating over and over again.
then finally, kyle answered.
"kyle...hi, do you know where simon is?" you asked immediately, not even giving the man to say hello or anything, suddenly your mouth went dry waiting for his answer. "kyle? hello?" you pressed again.

‧₊˚✩. ˚. ♡ ☁︎
To this day…you and Yunho’s BIGGEST regret in your relationship…is and ALWAYS WILL BE….agreeing to go to the christening of your friends’ 6-month old baby boy.
Everything was beautiful. The ceremony, the cathedral, the way the baby nestled into Yunho’s arms so naturally, and reached out to play with your bangles with such curiosity and wonder. It altered both of your brain chemistries, and you weren’t sure if it was for the better or not.
Your friends didn’t help either, saying things like “Parenthood would look so good on you two!” and “I can’t wait for your baby shower invitations.”.
How could they…….
After you pushed your meetings back to later in the week. After Yunho gave his team a free day when they could’ve been in the office perfecting the play-through on his new game before its release. Two very busy people with very busy work schedules, and you carved out time to come support your friends and their son, and they pay you back with…….
BABY FEVER?!?!
You and Yunho planned your futures out to a T. Go to university, get your respective degrees, join a company that you interned with, work your way up, become the boss, get married, honeymoon in The Maldives and spend your paid vacation days in The Swiss Alps.
Starting a family was definitely in there somewhere, but everything fell in line so well that it got lost. You’re at the top of your games…Yunho, figuratively and literally, with his gaming company being the best in the country and all…and you became the creative director for a top cosmetic brand. It really was all good. But it was lacking. And you both felt it. Ever since that christening.
You felt it every time one of your work partners went on maternity and paternity leave. Every time there were children in the offices on ‘Bring Your Kids to Work Day’. Every time Yunho saw posts or videos of kids around the world dressing up as characters he helped create. Every time your homegirls would send you milestones of their babies taking their first walk, or biting into a lemon for the first time. You two worked hard and accomplished everything you wanted to, everything except starting a family. It resonated for days after that christening.
For Weeks.
Months, even.
The energy around the house shifted. Yunho would steal glances at you as you did the simplest of routines, imagining your belly being round as you sip your favorite tea in the kitchen, waddling from room to room barefoot and pregnant. And you’d watch attentively as he’d play his video games, envisioning a child full of joy as he teaches them how to defeat their first villain. After a while it got to a point where neither of you would hide it. It became all too real, too wanted. And why not? What was stopping you two?
Everything was green lit once you and Yunho put it into the atmosphere and finally discussed it. You both were just about ready to start baby proofing the house and nothing even happened yet, becoming more proactive than you already were. Tracking apps were monitored, routines were tweaked, and everything seemed to be doable…but your work schedules…your jobs were the biggest obstacle. Just when could you slip away for a bit to see each other? When would be the right time to make a ba-
“Hey, I’m picking up my kid so we can go to lunch. I’ll be back in 2 hours!”
Your Editor in Chief pops their head in your office briefly before heading down the hall to the elevator, snapping you out of your rambling thoughts.
…………..Lunch Break.

You reverse your sedan into the space next to him before hoping out and swishing towards the driver’s door, knocking softy. Your ears perk up at the sound of r&b playing and a silent laugh escapes you. The dark windows of the door lower, revealing Yunho in the driver’s seat, fully reclined with the top buttons of his shirt undone and the silver crucifix you adorned him with for your anniversary gleaming.
“For a second I thought you were backing out on me.” He smiles at you, his voice deeper than usual, evidence of a brief stolen nap. “Traffic was hell, I would’ve been here in half the time otherwise.” The door unlocks and you climb in, grazing over Yunho’s body as he adjusts the driver’s seat sitting up slightly, he grabs ahold of you to help you straddle him and closes the door back behind you. And like clockwork, you lean in, beginning your onslaught of abuse on his lips.
Snaking your hands into Yunho’s hair, he moans, deepening the kiss, his tongue dancing ever so eloquently with yours. “I missed you.” He says breathlessly between kisses, “You saw me this morning before I left boo!” You tease him, fixing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose that slid down in the midst of your passion, “That’s too long.” He pokes his lips out, and you console him with light pecks to ease his playful angst. “You’re so needy, you know that right?” “And you love me for it.”
Yunho starts to undo his shirt more, a sinister smile on the corner of his lips as he looks you over. “Come here,” You lean into him, your hand placed against his bare chest, the rock on your wedding band a flashy contrast to his skin. “Lift up for me baby.” You lift off of Yunho for a second as he helps you readjust yourself, now straddling one of his thighs. The pinstriped black skirt you wore for work today riding up your thighs. You let out a huff, immediately feeling the pressure of Yunho’s toned thigh on your bundle of nerves. Your black tights and panties not serving as any sort of buffer to the sensations. Your pussy lips spread apart feeling the course texture of his slacks. You let out a staggering sigh, reality finally setting in what you were about to do. “That’s right, you’re gonna ride me and come all over my thigh, and thennn~” Yunho begins to rock your hips back and forth on his thigh. You lurch forward, your right hand immediately planting on the interior wall of the Rover, “Damn, feels good right?” “Yeah, yes it does. Fuck.”
You place your other hand on his shoulder, stealing support as you rock onto him quicker, a few front strands of your freshly done soft locs coming undone from the high pony you put them in this morning, to his delight. Yunho enjoyed the sight of you working yourself on him, he loved how neat you looked before you climbed in the suv with him, and is obsessed with the thought of how disheveled and fucked out you’re gonna look when he’s done and you climb back out. Fuck, it’s all he’s thought about since you mentioned it in the texts. He couldn’t wait to get his hands on you, to touch you, to feel you, to fuck you, to ruin you, to caress you, to make love to you, to put a baby in you……finally.
You watch Yunho as he closes his eyes, deep in thought, mindlessly guiding your hips against him, as if he’s immediately feeling all of the pleasure that you are in that moment. You begin to rock against him quicker, an impending climax moments away. Yunho opens his eyes, watching you as your moans get louder, less polite, more shameless. You lean your head forward trying to compose yourself as much as you possibly can in this situation, and he smiles at the sight. “I’m close………..fuck, I’m close.” Your hand now caresses his face as you lean your head on his shoulder, hunching him like a bitch in heat. “You’re close?” “Yeahhhh~” “Fuck, you’re gonna come all over my thigh like that?” “Yeah!” “Yeahhh, just like that?” “Yes! Yes! Just like that!” Yunho bounces his leg softly as you continue to rake against it, riding out your high as a warm dampness spreads on his designer slacks. He moans at the feeling, damn near coming untouched just from witnessing your pleaser unfold before him.
You steady your panting for air. Embarrassed, you pat at the wet spot you left on your husband, “I did not expect that I-“ “I did, you’re ovulating.” Yunho caresses your cheeks fully heated with shame, and kisses you, laughing into the kiss. “I don’t think you understand how hot that was, don’t apologize my love.” He gestures to the passenger seat, helping you off of him and guiding you there to sit tight and catch yourself for a second. He then leans the drivers seat back fully again, stepping over it to sit in the spacious middle seat. He unbuttons his shirt the rest of the way before removing his glasses, tossing them somewhere far in the back seats. He holds one of his hands out to you, patting his thigh sharply with his other, ordering your immediate presence.
You crawl over the front armrest and take Yunho’s hand as he helps you towards him. You start to kneel down in front of him and he stops you, “Nooo no, no, none of that today.” “But I really want to.” “I knowww, and you do it so well, but we’re kind of on a fixed schedule.” Yunho gestures behind you to the time on the soft glowing screen on the dashboard. You sigh in agreement, “I wanted to get you ready too.” “Oh babe,” He begins to undue his belt buckle and pants, his fully hard cock slapping against his lower abdomen as he slides his pants down lower freeing him. “Does it look like I need to get ready?” Your mouth waters, his cock glistening as precum trails down the tip, and you moan at the sight. “Oh my God.” He laughs at your eager demeanor, “Come here baby,” he pats his thighs again signaling you to straddle him once more, your legs on either side of him cushioned by the materials used to adorn the luxury car seats.
Yunho hikes your skirt up higher, sliding his hands underneath to trail down your sheer-tights-clad inner thighs and up to your panties. Your breaths were short, shallow, hesitant. You closed your eyes as Yunho felt you up, getting you worked up again in the process, unbeknownst to himself, or was this all part of his plan? “These weren’t too pricey, right?” He pinches at your tights, “No they weren’t, why?”
****rrrr-rrrrrr-rrrrrrriiiiippp!****
You gasp as you feel the force from Yunho ripping your tights right down the middle, smacking his shoulder. “They weren’t pricey but they were my favorite!” “Shhh, I’ll buy you 10 more.” You lean your head on his shoulder, pouting…until you feel his slender hands move your panties to the side. Your breath begins to get shallow again, feeling his warm tip slide up and down your wet folds. You moan involuntarily, “Awww, come on baby I haven’t even put it in yet.” “I knowww, I don’t know what’s wrong with me today.” “I do,” You feel him slowly push into you, leaning your head back as you cry out. “This cunt was just waaaiting to get fucked, because today is a little different than the other days,” He picks up his pace, fucking up into you steady but firm, “Today your pussy is a little bit more needy for me,” the recoil of your ass sending vibrations through your lower body as Yunho’s movements are relentless. “Today you’re gonna let me get you pregnant.”
And there it was. Your brain immediately shuts off. “I’m gonna fuck you so good, and so hard-” “Unnnnhhhhhooohhhh my Godddddd!” “Yeahhhhh, yeah let me hear you baby,” You grip the disheveled collar of Yunho’s shirt, completely at his mercy, taking what he gives you. “I’m gonna cum all in this pretty fucking cunt and get you pregnant, I’m gonna make you a Mommy.” “Yunho Please! Pleaseee~” “Please what my love?” Yunho lifts your chin up to meet his gaze, your dark brown eyes staring several miles into his own, communicating beyond a frequency that sound couldn’t even capture in that moment, and he understood every bit of it…but figured it would be fulfilling just to hear it fall from your lips, “Pleaseeee? What.” “Please make me a Mommy~” In seconds, he snakes an arm around your waist, pulling you flush against his chest as he drills into you. “Ahhhhhh!!!!” The sound of your screams, bounce off the interior of the car, and you pray that the seats absorb it all.
“Yesss, yes! Let me hear you Mama. Fuckkkk let me hear you!” “Fuckkkk!” “Uh huhhh~ Fuck! You sound so good taking my dick like this! Ughhhh~” You both were a mess, fully enraptured in pleasure and no longer prisoners to time. You place your forehead against Yunho’s now eye to eye as he continues to lean into you with force, your breathing syncing with his, both chasing your highs. “You’re gonna cum, aren’t you.” He asks you with dark eyes, almost as if it wasn’t a request. Suddenly you’re whimpering against his lips, “Yeah you are gonna cum, you’re close, so close for me.” “I’m-“ “I’m gonna-“ He mocks, imitating your whines, “You’re gonna what, cream around me and take this cum like a good little wife?” All you could do was gasp at his sharp remarks, “You’re gonna cum for me like a good little wife? Hm?” “Yeah!” “Yeah? You’re gonna take my fucking cum like a good fucking wife?” “Yes! Yes! Ye- Yes! Yes! Yes!” You gush around him, repeating your words like a mantra against his ear. He returns the favor, “Good Girl” replaying in his surprisingly vulgar vocabulary as he finishes inside of you. You collapse against him for some time. Aligning your heaving chest with his as you both come down. Clammy from the altercation. You swivel around some assuming it may help with the progress, and he moans a little.
“What are you doing?” Yunho laughs at you endearingly, watching you be an unintentional menace. “I don’t know I just thought it might do something.” You giggle some, lifting off of his softening length with your combined messes drooling out of you and down your inner thighs. Yunho takes it all in, shaking his head in amazement at the fucked out state of you. Just as he imagined it, better than he imagined, even. Staring him down, you study his body language, how he looks subtly exhausted but not TOO drained. Almost as if on a bodily timer, your temperature starts to rise again, “You’re plotting.” you narrow your eyes at him. Sucking in a sharp breath between teeth, Yunho helps you up, only to place you over the front armrest.
You squirm as your stomach and breasts make contact with the cold leather. “See I KNEW you were plotting!” “Oh hush, don’t act like you’re not excited.” Yunho makes light work of your tights, pulling off and discarding what was left of it, and sliding your panties off of one of your legs in order to spread them further apart. Your breathing catches at the gust of air that hits your pussy. Yunho’s cock inches away as he works his hand over it. He reaches his hand around holding it out to your mouth, “Spit.”, and you oblige him. He continues to work himself hard again, one hand bunching your business skirt up your waist, exposing your bare ass. His hand slides down to caress it, before landing a harsh smack, resorting back to soothing over the stinging spot. All marks undetectable on your brown skin, he lands a few more smacks on both cheeks, knowing he’ll be safe. You jolt and whine at the barrage of sharp pain and he leans down to pepper the side of your face in kisses, rubbing your attacked spots to soothe the pain.
“Don’t forget to breathe my love.” You didn’t realize you weren’t until he mentioned it, immediately offloading a heavy breath. Yunho clicks his tongue as he braces one hand on your shoulder to hold you in place, fiddling with the bunched up hem of your skirt. Your body stiffens as you feel him use his fingers to collect your cum and push it back into your pussy. You shudder in pleasure, still recovering from your last high, not too far from another if touched too much. You feel him shift behind you again as his cock teases its way past your entrance one more time. “Mmm, You wore this skirt on purpose Mama?” He glides into you with ease, bottoming out effortlessly, and you sink into the armrest, your moan resembling that of a pornstar’s. “You knew you were gonna see me to get this pretty pussy filled, Hmm?” Yunho immediately picks up the pace, keeping his hand firm on your shoulder, guiding you back onto him. “Ooooohhhhh~” “Yeahhhh? You wore this skirt because you knew you were gonna get knocked up with my babies? Huh?” Yunho’s words started to slur as they turned into shameless moans, “Yeahhh~ keep moaning for me, it’s just us here, keep going, I wanna hear youuu~” even he started sounding pornstar-like, it was music to your already ringing ears.
He began to pound into you with fervor, your tits now hanging over the armrest, bouncing violently as you grip the seating of the driver’s and passengers seat to avoid going headfirst into the dashboard. “Oh fuckkkk I’m gonna cum again, shit- shit- shittttt~” Yunho plants a foot on the flooring of the suv to steady himself as he leans flush against your back, engulfing you. “Yes, yes, yessss~ come inside of me pleaseeee~” Your final plea sends him over the edge, ultimately setting off a chain reaction that makes you cum around him all over again.
You shudder with each thrust as he slows his pace gradually before coming to a complete stop, staying in the same position as he bear hugs you from behind over the dashboard. You laugh to yourselves as you match your breathing once more, an exercise you both had been doing since the start of everything. Thank God workers at Yunho’s job actually took advantage of leaving the facility for lunch, or else your windows definitely would’ve been knocked on. Sure, the 5% tint helps, but you’re sure the car rocking would’ve given enough away.
Yunho peels himself off of you and helps you up, sitting you down next to him in the middle seats. You lay your head on his shoulders, the both of you visibly fucked out, his shirt open and hanging off of one shoulder with a button or two missing, crucifix chain crooked yet still sitting proudly on his chest, even after such a sinful act, your soft locs fully down, and splayed along and running down the side of Yunho’s torso, your skirt and his pants still undone, your blouse surprisingly still somewhat presentable. You both sit in solitude and enjoyment of each other for a little while. Yunho looks down at you lovingly, watching as you pull your phone out to do something. “Are you doing what I think you’re doing?” “Letting the Editor in Chief know that I’ll be out of the office for the rest of the day? Noo, I couldn’t possibly…” “Oh well that’s a shame…” You look at your husband, waiting, “Because I told the team to take the rest of the day off.” THAT’S why the deck looked so lifeless. “I can’t believe you set me up!” He peppers your face in kisses one last time.
“Alright, let’s get out of here, we defiantly need to change. We’re celebrating tonight.” “Tonight? Forrrrr?” “For theeee…..you know…..” Yunho gestures towards himself then your stomach, and you grin knowingly. “The lunch rush?” “Exactlyyy, the lunch rush.” He says before pulling you in for one last kiss. Yunho helps fix up your appearance before assisting you out of the Range Rover and back into your car. Kissing you for the last time yet again. “I’ll be right behind you.” He starts back to his vehicle, looking over to you, “Oh, feel free to put me in your schedule whenever you have an hour or two for lunch. Just to make sure it takes.” Yunho winks at you, getting back in the car as you both leave work for the day.

The Art of Dragon Age: The Veilguard preview pages Part Two, under a cut due to spoilers. Preview pages come from Google Books.
[Foreword]
[Part One]
In Inquisition you had your advisors in the war room. We liked the idea of bringing the whole team in with you and the opportunity for friction it provides.
Part Two: Joplin
Top: Solas continues to taunt you and guide you through dreams. Middle: The suggestion of romance at sea. Bottom (1): Solas is nearly triumphant, but you reveal that you know about the last elves. Bottom (2): A stealthy, aquatic infiltration in Tevinter. Text: Story Art – After Dragon Age: Inquisition shipped, and all the DLC was complete, we focused our full attention on the sequel. It was going to have a fantasy spy theme, which was eventually modified to “covert commandos”. We were travelling to a new part of the map to hunt down the most dangerous man in the world. The beat boards continued. As the story started to take real shape, we asked if the artists could be moved into the same room as the writers. We could then get real-time updates to the story and create quick storyboards. Previously, most people working on the game didn’t know the full story until all the pieces had been put together in a take-home build (months from shipping the final game). For the first time ever, we could show the whole team what the story was intended to be near the beginning of the project, rather than the end. The biggest benefit of this was that the story could received feedback from a wider cross-discipline audience and could then be iterated on more than ever before. This also helped unblock the art team in an unprecedented way. Being able to look at the whole story in one glance meant that we could begin to prioritize our efforts. For example, we could tell which locations would feature most heavily, so we could spend more time designing their architecture, props, and clothing. It also forced us to do quick first-pass designs without overthinking, knowing that later we could come back and refine things if they changed. This method also takes a lot of pressure off and prevents things from feeling “overbaked”.
Top: The team is at its lowest. Middle: Sparking an uprising. Middle (2): Ghilan’nain is defeated. Bottom: In a dream, Solas is furious with you.
Top: You meet with the Archon of Tevinter. Middle: You stop Solas’s ritual, but something (or someone) escapes. Middle (2): Elgar’nan. Bottom: The patchwork team doesn’t get along at first. Bottom (2): Exploring the Anderfels.
Top: Solas reconstructs the lyrium dagger from the idol. Middle: The team discovers the body of Elgar’nan’s Archdemon. Middle (2): Ghilan’nain. Bottom: Tranquilizing himself, Solas recloses the Veil around himself and the Blight.
Top: This sequence was an early fail state. Solas succeeds in his ritual, life as Thedas knows it comes to an end, and the ancient elves return. Middle: Storyboards had played a critical role in the development of Inquisition. We wanted to integrate them into our process even earlier. To that end, we created an interactive storyboard. Starting with the early drafts of the story, we sketched it all out, including any major choices. These boards were then stitched together into a playable choose-your-own-adventure-style game. It meant that years before the real game was up on its feet, an early draft of the entire story could be played from beginning to end. This was invaluable in receiving early feedback from the team and planning out what visuals would be needed to support the game. Bottom: A rather covert entry into Tevinter remained a consistent element in the story right to the end.
Top: Rook and a team track a mysterious idol to a black-market auction. Middle: You’re not the only team that has been tracking the idol. Bottom: The remnants barely escape. Text: While we worked quickly, these sketches helped reveal where to best spend our efforts later. It turned out we spent far more time in particular locations. Some factions were over- or under-represented. In one case we discovered a unique creature that would have taken ages to build but would have only appeared for ten seconds before disappearing forever (it was cut).
Middle: These quick sketches are often used to approve new ideas as fast as possible. In this case, exploring a “hidden in plain sight” meeting place in a Thedas nightclub. Bottom: Icons from the interactive storyboard, where you could decide whether your Inquisitor had disbanded or preserved the Inquisition, and whether they stood opposed to Solas or not.
Top: Solas reaches out to Rook in dreams. Middle: Exploring new sections of the Deep Roads. Bottom: With the help of the Wardens, you defeat Elgar’nan. Text: After a round of feedback, the story was revised. For the next batch of drawings, we added more polish. This helped us design the game before designing the game. At this stage, we weren’t too precious about anything, so we could make visual design decisions quickly, purely to tell the story. Many designs made during this stage remained largely intact.
Top: A version of the deserts of Nevarra. In this case, trying something with very high contrast: white ash and sharp black obsidian. Bottom: The eastern Tevinter town of Ventus. This Tevinter location is a little less oppressive than the megapolis of Minrathous. You can see the hanging gardens, and in the background are magical statues keeping Arlathan Forest from encroaching any closer.
Top: Another fail state was that if you couldn’t find a way to block Solas from your dreams, he would be able to kill you remotely. Bottom: Solas lures his greatest threats to one location and wipes them off the board.

The ship was a great backdrop for the interpersonal conflict of the team. We enjoyed thinking about how to make it unique, like including the collection of curiosities seen above. We also liked including the idea that Isabela procured it for you, but as a fixer-upper. Nothing like a scrappy but lovable ship to call home.

⤷ more information about story: here.

⤷ word count: 3288.
Life is like a butterfly, ephemeral, beautiful, and above all, fragile. You watch people stumble on the pavement, your face reflects subtly in the glass of the window, fortunately people aren't able to see you from the outside, you'd like to warn them about a small incline in the pavement, you yourself have stumbled there many times before realising, you close your eyes and laugh until your cheeks hurt, not out of mockery, but out of shame at imagining how many people have seen you stumble.
The shop manager snaps her fingers in front of your face to get your attention, you cough and pull yourself together, you see a gleam of curiosity light up in her hazel eyes, you smile at her and tilt your head to the side subtly, she understands the signal and watches a wanderer trip and fall, she covers her mouth with both hands to stifle her outrageous laughter.
You stop yourself from laughing along with her, she has a contagious laugh, sometimes you can't help it, you turn and walk away and leave her amused at the window, you take the cloth off your shoulder and scrub the counter and the till. You've been working in the flower store as a general service assistant for eight months, you weren't looking for a job, but Gloria, the manager and owner of the store, needed a handyman to help her, you were passing by and stopped to look at the flowers, she asked if you were new in town and if you didn't have a job yet, you even thought about tricking her and saying you didn't need a job, but you were honest and when you answered her, she grabbed your arm and dragged you inside, since then you've been working for her.
You're not used to spending a lot of time in one place, there's a huge target on your back, so you're always leaving without looking back, but after getting to know Gloria and the city better, you couldn't leave. You went behind the counter and leaned your arms on it and laid your face in the palm of your hand, you pulled up the sleeve of your blouse and looked at your wristwatch to check the time, in a few minutes Gloria's children would arrive from school and you would be alone in the store.
Tonight you're going to accompany Gloria to an art exhibition, she's shouting from across the store so that you don't forget the promise you made her, if you accompany her, she'll buy you that expensive perfume from her sister's perfumery, you couldn't let that opportunity slip away. You hummed, you haven't been on dates since you were young, before your life turned into the hell it is, you used to go on dates with your old boyfriend, in the past you arranged a date with him and then it all happened, you couldn't make it because of the circumstances and he was furious. Thinking about it makes you uncomfortable.
You shake your head to clear away the painful memories, you haven't seen or heard from your boyfriend for ten years, you don't even consider him your boyfriend anymore, after all, years have passed, he could be engaged to someone else by now. You tap your nails on the counter when you imagine him with someone else. Your bad mood disappears when Gloria comes in to excuse you from work. She announces to you that she'll be leaving early so that you can both get ready to go to the exhibition.
"So... see you later."
Your expression changes from water to wine, your face becomes brighter, the strange thoughts that were running through your head disappear completely. You give Gloria a tight hug and say goodbye, you've arranged to meet her in front of the store at 20:00hrs, you check the time on your wristwatch, it's 17:30, you have enough time to get ready. You go skipping down the street, but the tension in the air makes you stop abruptly, you feel like you're being watched, but when you analyze your surroundings, there's no threat around.
You're always on the alert, not least because your clan has been hunting you like an animal for years. However, paranoia has already made you make mistakes, and you don't want to make mistakes tonight, you have a date! You shake your body and slap your cheeks to dispel this feeling, you tell yourself that nothing bad is going to happen tonight. For a moment you look up at the dazzling late afternoon sky, there are no clouds covering the stars and the setting sun because it's summer in Brazil, but there are a few puddles of water in the street because it rained in the morning, the weather is really crazy here, you can experience all the seasons in a single day.
You greet some familiar faces along the way, the children in the street come to greet you and you offer them warm hugs, you tell them to wait for you, whenever you can you bring bread and sweets for the children, because there is no adult to look after them. Your house is in the middle of a dirt road, not far from the city, but far enough away that if anything happens you'll be able to hide your tracks, the house is old and small, but it's much better than some places you've lived.
You walk for about fifteen minutes until you reach the house, the feeling of being watched comes again, you pass through the gate of the house and look back and to the sides, there's nothing there, but when you reach the door of the house you freeze when you don't hear the characteristic click of the lock. The door is open. You frown and swallow, whoever is behind this door is skilled enough to escape your enhanced senses. You're not human, so whoever is watching you is skilled enough to bypass your vampire sense of smell.
You open the door slowly, there are lots of weapons scattered around the house at strategic points, you just need to pick one of them up. You close the door behind you and look for clues in the hallway, there are no signs of a break-in, no footprints or even traces of someone having been there, but you're not convinced yet. You take off your shoes and grab a dagger hidden inside the umbrella holder, walking on tiptoe and sneaking around the walls, you look from side to side and change position several times.
You search the whole house twice as a precaution, there's nothing, and you're beginning to think that your paranoia is getting the better of you. Yet something tells you not to drop the dagger. You never go against your sixth sense, because most of the time you're right, you close your eyes and stand facing the bedside table in the living room, you take a deep breath and wait, if there was someone there, surely that person would appear. But to your surprise no one has appeared. You feel frustrated and relieved at the same time, you go up the stairs and into the bathroom with the dagger still in your hand, you start getting ready for the meeting, you promised yourself you wouldn't be late and you're going to keep that promise.
You've chosen the best outfit you have, it's nothing fancy, but it's the most beautiful dress in your small closet, it's long with short cream-colored sleeves, there are some birds embroidered in blue on the chest, you've put a checkered belt around your waist as an extra accessory, because the only jewel you have is the reliquary you carry around your neck. You don't normally wear heels because it's difficult to run in them, but today you made an exception. You look at your watch and it's almost time to leave.
You go downstairs excitedly, singing and twirling around, you go to the kitchen and fill a basket with bread and some sweets you've ordered, in your haste you forget your dagger on the counter. Suddenly, a strange presence hovers around the house, you stop abruptly in the middle of the corridor and wait for the other person to attack first, you spin on your heels ready to punch the intruder, but you are blocked by an invisible wall and the basket of bread falls with the impact. Your eyes glaze over in a mixture of surprise and confusion, you know that not many people know your weaknesses, but there was a certain someone who was highly capable of doing it: Satoru Gojo was the name of that person.
"Hello, Y/N." He greets you with a cynical smile. "Long time no see."
"YOU!" You vociferate with your jaw locked.
You're very close to each other. However, before he can speak, you take a glass of acid from your pocket and throw it at the barrier, it's useless, but it gives you enough time and space to get away from him and think clearly, you take a wooden dagger from behind a painting on the wall, a gun would come in handy now, but you were too far from the sofa to pick it up. You can't defeat the great Satoru Gojo, you don't have the power to do it, even if you are good at the art of killing, the Six Eyes are the real stone in your shoe. No matter how skilled you are, you can't escape those eyes.
"How the hell did you find me here?"
"Glad to see you too." He keeps his attitude unassuming and calm, but he's not happy that you've become so strong and skilled, the last time he saw you, you wouldn't have even noticed his presence. "Aren't you going to say hello?"
"Why are you here?" You remain impassive.
"You really don't know?" He raises an eyebrow, as if you've asked a rhetorical question. "You gave the elders of the four clans, including mine, a lot of headaches, so the old men finally gave me permission to come after you."
You wrinkle your nose, this man has come all this way to kill you, you just don't know when or how, you turn your gaze to his face, he's so serious wearing that pair of blue glasses with square lenses, it's ridiculous, but you can't judge him, since you hid the pair of custom-made sunglasses he used to wear, back then you harbored deep feelings for him and decided to keep that pair of glasses with you as a souvenir. It's funny that people who are very close can go from people who know each other to people who don't know each other anymore. A lump forms in your throat and it's hard to breathe, despair takes hold of you, like a spark falling on a pile of straw. You don't want to go back, you like it here, your new life, without curses or evil sorcerers, but you also don't want to be hated by the people you love.
"It's no use trying to run away." He warns you, and it's amazing how his every word sounds like a veiled threat, he takes a step forward and you step back. "But I'm not going to kill you."
"Not now..." You mumble, laughing scornfully, you don't believe him, it's in your face, you step back and take a good look at him, he's wearing expensive clothes, but too simple for his taste, he's also aged in recent years, he turns his face away when he feels the weight of your gaze, strangely uncomfortable. "If you're not going to kill me, what have you come here for?"
"To take you, of course." He sounds as if he's stating the obvious.
"Of course." You shake your head in agreement, you're still laughing. "Of course..." You lean on the wall of the house and laugh until your stomach hurts.
"Is this some kind of joke to you?"
"Of course!" You repeated again with false enthusiasm. "I'm not going back with you, not over my dead body. But you wouldn't kill me even if I hurt you, right? The merciful Satoru Gojo, the man who doesn't get his hands dirty, not even when faced with a murderer." You sneer at him, and he doesn't like it one bit, the last few years have turned you into a cynical and suspicious person, maybe he was telling the truth, but he didn't say anything about hurting you. You hold the dagger steady and point it at his face. "Only one of us is getting out of here today."
You'd kill him without hesitation if you could, he knows it, but you're not interested in a fight, if you knew how much his power has grown while you've been away, you wouldn't be pointing that knife at him. You're also aware that it's a losing battle, you can't win even if there are ten of you, so you decide to use the only card up your sleeve, your own life, you point the dagger at your neck, it's a risky move, but if he still has feelings for you, he'll let you go.
"You wouldn't do that, you're bluffing." He doesn't seem very confident that you're going to kill yourself, after all you value your life so much that you've been running away for years, so you've pierced your neck superficially, but enough to make it bleed. "You crazy suicidal bitch, don't you dare!"
His reaction gives you a little confidence.
"LET ME GO!" You shout.
"I CAN'T, OKAY? PLEASE STOP THIS SHIT." He runs his hand over his face and then through his hair, making it messier than usual, he tries to get closer, but you push the blade even deeper into his neck, he grunts and bites his lower lip. "Stop it, please, I just want to talk." He stutters, his voice laced with tears.
The last time you met, he was so angry that you couldn't recognize him, yet now he looks much more like the boyfriend who loved you deeply than a hunter. You shake your head in agreement and take the dagger out of your neck, blood spurts everywhere and ruins your dress, but it's not serious, you're not stupid, you would never hit a vital point, you just wanted to scare him a bit so you could get away. Satoru suddenly approached you and put pressure on your neck to stop the bleeding, you barely feel any pain, you're used to getting hurt. You're not a sorcerer to use RCT, but you were able to heal yourself, you'd like to remind him of that, but this is the first time you're interacting with him after so long, and he was being so careful that you didn't want to stop him. You watched him throughout, his eyebrows furrowed and his mouth slightly curved into a pout, he was so sexy.
You frown, strange (and obscene) thoughts come to mind, without realizing that he's watching you make these faces and mouths, the next thing you know, he's got his face very close to yours, so close that you can feel his uneven breathing touch the skin of your cheek, he looks at your lips and then into your eyes, you get goose bumps, feelings that you've repressed all these years burst through the door of your heart like an avalanche, you stagger backwards with your face turned to the floor.
Your mind is in chaos, you're distracted for a second or two, but long enough for Satoru to seal his soft lips to yours, the sweet, calm feeling of a chill in your belly, your first kiss after ten years apart. His fingers tangle in your hair and close in an inviting grip that has served to bring the two of you even closer together. He forces you to give in and make room for the real kiss to begin, he explores every corner of your mouth and rubs his tongue against yours in an obscene way, he leads the kiss in a way that you can barely follow. Before breaking the kiss completely, he runs his tongue over your lips as if to show you that he's close enough to invade your mouth again.
You choke on your breath and feel feverish, you were willing to risk your own life to get away from him a few minutes ago, but now you're here in his arms, at the mercy of his desires.
"Stop." Your throat is burning. "Please stop."
He doesn't comply with your request and advances again, so you block his lips with your free hand, he smiles and licks the back of your hand, your face turns red up to your ears, it's humiliating how he's able to mess with you and how your body simply doesn't obey you when it comes to him. However, it's so cute for him to see you so shy (resistant), it reminds him of the first time he fucked you, you were so innocent and vulnerable. Satoru wonders if he could repeat the same feat if he pushed you a little harder.
"I TOLD YOU TO STOP." You push his face away from yours, leaving him at a safe distance, you lower your head and face your feet, luckily your hair is long enough to cover your reddened face. "Say what you want and let's get it over with."
Satoru finally accepts that you're not going to give in anymore, so he takes the dagger from you and throws it a considerable distance away, he's afraid you'll hurt yourself again, you stand in an awkward silence for a while, until your heartbeat normalizes and you come to your senses. With great difficulty you look at him again, but instead of that seductive look, he's slumped and playing with his fingers, a clear sign of anxiety.
"You didn't come to kill me." You feel the air get heavy and his face turns grim after you come to this conclusion, you've never seen him like this before, only when Toji killed Amanai, you frown and hold his blouse with both hands. "Something's happened, hasn't it?" You click your tongue on the roof of your mouth. "What's wrong? Why are you here?" He laughs nervously, you've always been very clever. "Don't be quiet, you were very talkative just now."
His body is shaking, but it's not the cold that bothers him, whatever he's hiding from you affects him to the extent that it makes him shut up, and Satoru Gojo never shuts up, not even when his life was in danger did he stop laughing and babbling about how strong he is. But now he seems like a different person, completely different from the idiot you've lived with for years, and an idiot like him doesn't change so easily, he just becomes more arrogant over time. He turns his face to the floor and bites his lower lip, hesitant to tell you the truth, his heart races in anguish and you shake him, ripping his glasses off his face, at which point you see dark circles under his eyes and watery eyes. You become anxious, but before you could shout at him, he opened his mouth to answer you and you didn't know how to react, because it wasn't the answer you were expecting.
"I didn't come here because of the elders or whatever nonsense is going through your head right now, I came here because... I'm so sorry, Y/N, your sister... she disappeared."
Life really is a butterfly.

Adam and Lucifer have been a sort of friends with benefits, thing, for a few months now. It had been a while since he’d come back as a sinner.
They were both trying to play it casual. Sneaking around cause it’s supposed to be casual and Lucifer didn’t want Charlie thinking it was a thing and getting excited only to be disappointed before (when) they stopped, cause it was casual so obviously they weren’t going to be forever.
Even though Lucifer was caught giving Adam a t-shirt as a gift, and they both lied and said it was Adam’s birthday. Even though he doesn’t have one.
They hung out on not dates. It wasn’t a big deal.
And when they have sleep overs, Lucifer just portals one of them back to their own room in the morning. Nice and easy
But that morning Adam looked rather cute asleep, and Lucifer figured he could just go down and maybe get some breakfast and bring it back up for Adam and him. Have a little breakfast in bed.
He grabbed his shirt and pyjama bottoms off the ground.
They’d stayed up late the night before. They fucked yeah, but also the season finally of their tv show was a two parter and so they had curled up in bed to cuddle as they watched it. He was a little groggy.
Lucifer wandered down to the kitchen yawning.
“Mornin’” Lucifer muttered as chipper as he could be given how tired he was.
“Uhh, morning, dad.” Charlie smiled but it was a little tight around the edges.
His own smile wavered as he wondered if everything was okay.
Lucifer got down a coffee mug and poured a cup. He’d need the caffeine. They had a not date that night.
The opera house was showcasing a collection of Tchaikovsky’s best work and Adam was excited to go. Heaven’s version of the music had gotten a little boring after a while, according to Adam, but the one in hell was a little more theatrical and in Adam’s words, “fucked a lot harder”.
Adam had had ways around the parental locks up in heaven meant to keep things more pg. It made his band rather popular for more than just having him in it. But he was enjoying that he could just see shows and things without needing to skirt rules that dumbed things down or made it nicer for souls.
Lucifer pulled down a second cup.
It was good that they did have some music tastes in common. Rock wasn’t strictly Lucifer’s genre of choice but he did like some of it that Adam introduced him to. And he recognized some pieces just having heard them and not realized.
Adam got so excited about things like music.
His eyes lit up and he had so much fun. It was good to see since he’d been so miserable when he first fell.
After a while they commiserated together over shared pains. One thing had turned into another as one glass of wine turned to another. Soon they’d kissed.
Weeks later they did it again.
Then again.
Then they went to the movies where they entwined their pinkies in the dark and leaned a little against each other. Afterwards they went back to Lucifer’s room. In the morning Lucifer opened a portal to Adam’s room so no one would see them.
“Uhh, dad?”
Lucifer startled. He’d forgotten the others were there. “Hmm? Yes, sweetie?”
Charlie tapped her nails nervously against her own mug. “You, well, you poured two cups of coffee.”
Shit.
Shit. Shit!
Fuck.
“Oh. I guess I spaced out.” He gave a hollow laugh to try and mask his mistake as a different sort of mistake. “Must be a two cup day, good thing I already have two.”
Lucifer tried to leave but he bumped into Alastor as he turned, barely keeping the coffee from spilling.
“Why, good morning, your majesty.” Alastor gave a mock bow of his head.
He rolled his eyes and almost pushed past Alastor, because like hell he was going to go around the fucker. You moved for the king, not the other way around. But Alastor spoke before he could keep going.
“How sweet of you.” Alastor might be all smiles but his eyes never agreed with his mouth. “Bringing Adam coffee in bed this morning? I assume you’re in your room today.”
Lucifer nearly dropped his mugs and his jaw. “Wha-“
“After all, you two didn’t stay in his room.” Alastor moved out of Lucifer’s way but Lucifer couldn’t take a step.
He clenched the mugs and there was a slight crack as Lucifer gripped too hard.
“I do appreciate it when you stay in your room. I can’t hear your activities through the wall I share with him when you both retire to your suite for the night.”
The mug dripped hot coffee over Lucifer’s hand through the cracks.
“Oh dear.” Alastor’s tone mocked. “Was it supposed to be a secret? I assumed you two were telling people. Seeing as you’re wearing the shirt you got him for his birthday.”
Lucifer looked down at the Duckysaurus shirt he’d picked up off the floor and his face lit up like a bonfire. It hung loose on him. There was no way he could try to claim that he bought his own, but he tried to stammer through an explanation he didn’t remember the details of anyway.
“And the two coffee mugs?” Alastor pressed.
“I-“ fuck!
Fuck!
Fuck!
FUCK!
What had he said? What was it? He closed his eyes, pressing them together. Trying to remember.
A hand covered his. He opened his eyes and Charlie was looking at him.
“Dad. Maybe we should talk in private.” She lead his hands to the counter to put down the broken mugs.
As she hooked her arm in his and as she dragged him away he could head Vaggie ask Alastor why he did that.
“Perhaps I wasn’t clear. I can hear them through the wall!”
The trip up to Charlie’s office was quiet. She didn’t look angry, but she didn’t look happy either.
“Sit.” She let him go and he sank into one of the overstuffed chairs in her office as she leaned against her desk in front of him.
It cut too close to home and reminded him of being scolded by the other angels back in heaven, and she hadn’t even said anything yet.
“Is what Alastor says true?”
He opened his mouth and shut it again. He flushed and looked away, covering his mouth to try and hide his embarrassment.
“So yes.” Charlie sighed. “I’ll have a talk with Alastor about outing other people’s business then.”
She gripped the edge of the desk hard and he winced as her nails dug into the wood.
“Char-“
“It’s none of my business. If you wanted me to know, you would have told me.”
“It’s not-“ he started. Lucifer rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at his rubber duck themed pyjama bottoms and bare hooves. He muttered more to himself than speaking to Charlie. “It’s not serious or anything.”
“You don’t have to-“ Charlie pushed herself away from the desk and moved to the window. “It’s not like you and mom are going to get back together. I’m just... I don’t know.” She wrapped her arms around herself, she look to the ground.
Lucifer got up from his seat, “Charlie.” He didn’t want to move. Fear twisted in his heart.
What if she reject his attempt to comfort her? Rejected him?
He took a step and reached for her.
She turned and hugged him tight.
Lucifer wrapped his arms around her. Burying his face in her shoulder.
“I just didn’t want to get you excited for something that wasn’t going to work out.” He pulled her closer as his face started to burn and his eyes started to water. “He’ll leave one day. And it’s better not to get attached.”
She squeezed back just as hard. “Oh Dad.” Charlie said sadly as she pulled back to look him in the eyes. “You love him, don’t you?”
“What?” He laughed. Lucifer wiped away an errant tear as his slide down his face. “No. That would be-“ He took her hands in his and looked away. “Stupid. Really stupid of me.”
Charlie pulled him back into a hug and squeezed him until he thought he was going to pop.
Lucifer hugged her back.
“Love is never stupid.” She said into his ear. “Come on. Tell me about Adam.”
He laughed but those stupid tears were back. “I don’t know what to say.”
“Anything.” She pulled him to the window seat and they cuddled. “I just want you to let me in a bit.”
Charlie rested her head on his. “You live here now, but you’re still a million miles away. You’re here.” She squeezed him, “but you’re not here.”
“I’m sorry.”
When did his little girl get so big? So observant?
“I don’t mean to be.”
“I know, dad.”
The lapsed into silence for a bit. Just enjoying each other’s company before Lucifer spoke.
“He’s nice.” What could he say? “He’s brash. And swears like a sailor in a storm. But he’s fun. And Adam can be thoughtful too. He doesn’t care if anyone knew about us, it was just me. He snuck around for me.”
They talked and Lucifer kept finding more things to say about Adam. Things that annoyed him and made Charlie laugh. “Vaggie does the exact same thing. Seeing them together. It’s funny, it’s like he’s her dad.”
“That stumpy walk when they’re mad!”
“Oh and how they both go, ‘babe’.” Charlie giggled.
Lucifer snorted a laughed. “Ohhh! The drill sergeant voice.”
“Listen up maggots!” Charlie tried to impersonate Vaggie.
“Yeah!” Lucifer was having a fit of laughter. “That’s totally them. I took Adam to a concert and some fucker tried to mug us. Adam had him doing push-ups. “Fifty more, maggot!” It was so hot.” He flushed realizing he just called Adam hot in front of Charlie.
She breezes past it though. “So you guys go on dates?”
“Not dates. But we hang out. Alone.” He put his on his knees and kept wiggling his hooves together. “Like going to the movies. Concerts. We get dinner.”
“Those sound like dates.”
Maybe they were.
“He’s not staying. Adam’s trying to get back to heaven. We can’t be together.”
“But you want him to stay.”
Lucifer nodded.
Charlie’s fingers brushed through his bed head. He could feel her twisting small strands together and braiding little pieces of his hair. Lucifer let her play with his hair in the silence.
“Have you asked him to?”
“He hasn’t.” Adam spoke up from the doorway.
Lucifer jolted as he was startled.
Adam was shirtless and just in the sweat pants he wore as pyjamas. His chest was hairy and his stomach chubby, it was hard not to just sink into the harsh man’s soft body.
“Adam-“ Lucifer went to get up but Adam gestured for him to stay and Adam came to him.
He took a seat on the other side of Lucifer. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you about something.”
A hand took Lucifer’s.
“I talked to heaven. Told Sera I was going to keep working on my shit, but that I wanted to stay down here.”
“You did?” He asked hesitantly.
Adam nodded. “Actually. Charlie got me in touch with a therapist and I’ve been going once a week to talk about crap that wouldn’t be fair to lay on my kind of boyfriend’s kid to help sort out. Shit about Eden and Eve. Crap about falling and shit from heaven.”
Pulling the hand to his lips, Adam kissed it. “I figured if I wanted this to work I should probably work on the shit that drove Lilith and Eve away.”
“If-“ Lucifer couldn’t take his eyes off their hands. “If I asked you to stay…”
“Are you asking?”
He bit his lip, the fear of rejection trying to harden his heart. Lucifer nodded.
“I’d love to stay.”
“Excellent to hear.” Alastor interrupted the tender moment. “Can I assume you’ll be moving into Lucifer’s room? Or better yet, his house. I’ll help you pack.”
Adam smiled even as Lucifer swore and Charlie gave a sharp, “Alastor!”
“Oh no, Al. My dear grandchild. I’d say it’s much too soon to move in together. But I think we’re likely to stay over with each other much more often.”
They both fake laughed and Alastor turned to Charlie. “I’d like to change rooms.”

This was supposed to be a funny bit about a neat t-shirt I saw that said duckysaurus and had a dino rubber duck on it.

never judge a book by it's cover II Beth Mead x Vivianne Miedema x Reader
masterlist I word count: 1321
a/n: dear readers, this pairing was quite a requested one, so we hope we've met your expectations.
warning: mentions of injuries, but despite that topic a whole lot of wholesomeness and fluff. <3
“Beth, Viv tried to call us.”, you noticed concerned after you looked at your phone. A few minutes ago, Renee ended the training, and the Arsenal team felt more optimistic than it had in recent times.
“She did? Weird, she knows we had training. And she hates calls.”, Beth frowned.
“Yes, it must be important.”, you replied before playing the voice mail your other girlfriend had left. Viviannes frustrated and sad voice filled the changing room. It was in stark contrast to the current joyful and happy atmosphere.
“Hi girls. I know you’re busy. Just wanted to let you know that the team doctor checked on my knee again and it doesn’t seem to get better. I’m off to do some more scans now but he said another surgery might be inevitable. They want to operate as soon as possible. No big deal, just wanted to let you know. Enjoy your training.”
“Oh no, poor Vivi. Love, you know what that means, right?”, the blonde sighed heavily.
“Yes, of course.”, you told her. Clearing your throat, you turned around to face one of your Australian teammates. “Uhm Steph, sorry, we can’t go on our usual coffee walk with the dogs later. Beth and I need to drive to Manchester because Viv needs us right now.”
“Sure. Everything, okay?”, Steph asked alarmed.
“No, Viv puts her brave face on, but she likely has to go through a surgery again.”, you explained with a heavy heart.
“Tell her we’re all thinking of her.”, she responded empathetically.
“Okay, we’ll.”, you promised her.
“See you soon, Steph.”, Beth waved at one of her best friends.
“Bye girls, take care.”, Steph replied.
Your girlfriend and you didn’t waste time, you quickly got everything you needed for your lover and when drove all the way up to the North in a bit over four hours.
Both your hearts pounded hard against your chests, once you rang at Vivianne’s appartement door in Manchester and waited for her to open it. You couldn’t know in which state you’d find her.
“What are you two doing here?!”, the Dutch woman exclaimed surprised while kneeing down despite the pain to hug the dog who wiggled her tail excitedly, clearly thrilled to see her again.
“Looking after you!”, you answered patiently.
“I can handle that I did it before.”, Vivianne clarified as the brunette slowly stood up again.
“Yes, but you don’t have to handle it alone.”, Beth reminded her softly, wrapping her arms around the taller forward.
“Exactly, we’ll be there for you if you like it or not.”, you added, joining their hug, turning the Dutch’s footballer’s cheeks into a soft pink.
“You didn’t have to come.”, Vivianne stated seriously.
“But we wanted to, you stubborn woman.“, Beth huffed with annoyance but her eyes softened at the sight of her girlfriend.
Vivs eyebrows knotted together: “Who are you calling stubborn? You didn’t even call back to ask how the scans went. You just packed your stuff and drove here!“
You shrugged, trying to calm the situation with an innocent smile: “We just knew that we had to be here.“
With that, you marched past her into her living room that you had helped decorate a few months ago.
Vivianne shook her head: “You’re two idiots.“
“Yeah but we’re your idiots.“, Beth smiled and gently bumped shoulders with her as they followed you.
“Yeah, you are.“, Vivianne confirmed with the hint of a laugh in her voice.
You stopped in front of the sofa and started to unpack the bags you and Beth had packed earlier.
“Plus, we got Myle, your favourite snacks and the new book from that author you love. So basically everything you need to start your recovery.“, you told her.
A bit overwhelmed, Vivianne took in the pile of sweets you created on the coffee table. It took a few seconds until she spoke again: “That’s sweet of you.“
“You’re welcome, Viv. So, what’s next for you?“, you asked, sitting down on her sofa.
“For one, it’s surgery and then rehab again.“, she sighed as she sat down next to you.
Beth calmingly laid a hand on Vivs thigh: “When is the date for the surgery?“
“In a few days so you can’t stay here for that.“
As soon as she had finished, Beth and you looked at each other with silent understanding.
You frowned: “You don’t want us to be here for the surgery?“
“You have training.“, the dutch player replied like the answer should have been obvious. And maybe it should have been. But not when Beth and you were determined to be there for your girlfriend.
“Yes but Renee would understand if we would skip one.“, Beth argued which was met with a determined shake of Vivs head. “But I don’t want you to pause your lives for me.“
You barely stopped yourself from rolling your eyes at her typical stubbornness: “It’s not on pause because you are an important part of our lives.“
She considered you for a moment, silently.
“Yes, everyone would understand.“, Beth nodded to emphasize your point.
Another short break until Vivianne finally admitted: “To be honest, girls, I’m a little scared…“
Taken aback, you bit your lip. It wasn’t often that your girlfriend was open about her emotions.
Beths hand slipped into Vivs, her gaze softening: “You don’t have to be. We’ll be here for you and support you every step of the way.“
“What if I’m not coming back from this?“
“You’ll. You’re a fighter.”, the blonde said in a tone which left no room for doubt and was full of certainty.
“And you two will be there? I know I can get.”, the Dutch woman started.
Before she could add anything, you interrupted her gently. “Of course we’ll be.”
“Promise.”, Beth continued solemnly.
“Okay, thanks.”, Viv let out a relived sigh.
“Cuddles.”, you offered.
“Okay.”, she agreed with a half-crooked smile and opened her arms for you both to cuddle into one of her sides each.
“Do you feel better?”, the English player wanted to know.
“A lot. But still you shouldn’t have come.”, the Manchester city football player mumbled.
“We’re not starting with that again.”, you groaned.
“Yes, shut up and be happy!”, Beth demanded laughing.
“Let’s read out to each other with Viv’s new book. Beth could you..?”, you suggested.
“Make some special Meado hot chocolate? Absolutely.”, your girlfriend exclaimed thrilled.
“You guys know I hate the attention.”, the Dutch forward pouted.
“We do that’s why we’ll focus on fictional characters now. Can you already smell the hot drink?”, you tried your best to distract her.
“I hope Beth doesn’t burn the milk again.”, Viv looked worried into the direction where the scent of hot chocolate came from.
“Have a little faith in me!”, Beth yelled.
“I do. Usually.”, the forward assured the other striker quickly who returned with three cups of warm beverages.
“Okay, fine. I won’t argue with you.”, Viv laughed.
“The cover is really awful though.”, you commented while flipping through the pages of the newly acquired novel.
“You’re not supposed to read the cover.”, the dark-haired woman clicked her tongue.
“And not judge it by it’s looks?”, you raised an eyebrow at your lover, you knew exactly to what she was alluding to.
From the outside you looked very tough with your tattoos and muscular built. Because of your outward appearance people were quite intimidated by you until they got to know the human behind the looks. There was a soft and gentle side to you other persons were surprised to find.
“Of all people you must know that looks can be misleading.”, Beth reminded you with a wink.
“Can we read now?”, Viv threw in impatiently.
“Sure.”, you chuckled and began to read the first lines of the new book. While you were aware that the best love story lay right next to you, listening to every word you said.

alpha charles, gang leader courting omega max, who works in a small flower shop. charles lied to max about who he is, pretending to be a businessman.
they are dating almost a year and everything going pretty well, until max overhears some concerning conversations between charles and his "secretary". max is shocked and needs answers. he found very disturbing evidences, that his precious charles, who loves fighting with his cats for last piece of pizza and babying leo so little dog barely walks outside of apartment by his own paws, that this man leading gang, and everyone knows this, except him. suddenly he feels unsafe in a big house, charles owns. everything feels fake.
max was given an opportunity move to another place, to help owners of flower shop open new markets, so he immediately takes this opportunity and plans his escape. he took what he bought by his own money, leaving every gift charles gave to him. max watched too many films to know, that later everything could went down for him, if he takes anything. but he took leo with him. max' heart couldn't handle his sad whining, while omega was frantically collecting his and cats staff. he left that evening, right before his alpha usually coming home.
charles was confused when he didn't hear usual noise, when he came home. he thought that maybe max went for a walk with leo, but cats also were super quiet and never been seen. then from confused he immediately went to panic, when he saw a paper on his kitchen table. this was a letter from max, where he said, that he left gifts and everything charles bought him here, that he took leo with him, because he scared for his wellbeing, that he couldn't live with him anymore and that please don't try to find him. charles is heartbroken and couldn't understand what happened since yesterday. his house feels too quiet and ring that he bought burns in his pocket.
max settling pretty good in his new life in a new place with cats and leo. omega little bit scared, always looking behind his back. after some time, max made peace with fact, that charles is a criminal and after some digging into himself, omega thinks, that he would have been okey with it, if charles was honest from the beginning.
despite what max wrote in his letter, charles trying to find his omega, if not for a relationship, then for a closure. what he didn't know yet, that max left with only one present from him.
max doesn’t want to acknowledge that fact that he’s pregnant. he’s confused and worried. omega thinks that he wouldn’t be able to provide a stable home for a baby. but life goes on, cats love cuddling on his baby bump and leo always sitting under his arm, quietly sniffing his stomach from time to time.
one day everything feels wrong for max. in the morning he can’t shake feeling that somebody is following and watching him. and the customer, whom max never knows, seems really familiar. omega was relieved when his shift ended. but the closer max got to his home, the more anxious he he became. cats unusually quiet and leo didn’t happily run to him. then max sees him.
charles stands there, looking at ultrasounds of their baby. alpha looks like he didn’t sleep for past months. charles quickly turns, once he realised that max is there, making omega whines and tightly wraps his arms around baby bump. alpha looks defeated, when he sees how much max looks scared. he begs max to listen. he apologises for not telling the truth and for scaring him. he can’t stop apologising and talking about how he would disappear from max’s life if wants to. max stands there in shock, he still hugs his bump by one hand, while slowly taking alpha teary face in other. that shuts charles immediately. baby blue meets light green. they are staying in silence, looking at each other.
then max starts talking. he profusely apologises for not communicating with alpha, and overreacting so much. charles wants to interrupt, but max puts his hand on his mouth. omega says that when he learned about his real job, he was scared that charles trapped him, and would hurt him at some point, if max ask him. so he left. this leads to another round of tears from alpha.
max puts charles’ hands on his bump, and baby immediately starts kicking, instantly recognising his dad. they both laugh at this. they need to have serious and long talk but they gonna be okey. because they have each other again.
ps from anon: i don’t know what it is😭 i wanted to write a little idea but it kept getting bigger and bigger😵💫
Aww I know Charles is a gang leader and probably has done some very questionable things but the idea of Charles getting home and it being empty and him not knowing why is so sad 🥹🥹
I could see why Max would be scared though, especially because his alpha has not been truthful. And he took Leo too because he was worried about him 🥹
Charles would be the most protective alpha dad!!
This was great anon <3

Ok, for the x reader requests
Brothers finding out that Reader's biggest fear is demons? Maybe a few months into the exchange program, after they're friends/dating, it just comes up someway and MC's just like "oh yeah I'm terrified of yall"
Like, nothing in particular caused that, they were just always scared, even before the exchange program.
Ty :) also drink water
haha this is cute! thanks for the request, please enjoy~~
Lucifer
Lucifer would have already gathered from your reactions/side comments/looks of terror that demons were one of your fears. In fact, he would definitely use it to tease you until you realize that he knows. And even when you find out that your fear is revealed, he wouldn't stop. Maybe it's because he knows that, despite the fright, you care deeply about them all.
Mammon
When you casually mention to Mammon that you've always been scared of demons, he tries to act like he knew all along. Of course he didn't, but it's fun to watch him try to act tough and scary. Still, you notice that after that point, he gets a bit more protective of you - pulling you closer when you two are walking around the Devildom.
Leviathan
Levi doesn't bother to take his eyes off his videogame when you mention your fear of demons. Instead, he kind of huffs out a laugh, and asks why you would be scared of them, since most demons are 'super lame'. You laugh along with him, and go back to playing your game.
Asmodeus
"Is that so, dear?" Asmo asks as he brushes your hair back. You had just confided in him after a rather difficult day that your fear of demons has been acting up lately with all the walking you have to do alone to and from the Academy. When you tell him, he immediately drops his lip balm and hair brush, grabbing your hands and consoling you. He tells you that that won't do, that you're too beautiful to feel anything but confident as you're strutting through the streets of the Devildom. After his comments have you laughing off your worries, you two go back to your spa day.
Satan
You had planned to tell Satan about your fear of demons later in the day when you two were going on a picnic date. It had been something you were meaning to tell him for a while, as your anxieties truly flared up when Satan would get angry at his brothers, start screaming, and turn into his demon form. You knew that if you told him about your fear, he would try to act more reasonable around you, but you just kept putting it off, worried that he may get angry, or yell at you or make a rude comment. But when a stray cat ran up to him, and he crouched down with the brightest smile on his face, petting the kitty as it purred under his hand, you knew that he had a truly good heart, and that your fears were unwarranted.
Beelzebub
Beelzebub nodded intently when you mentioned to him that you had always found demons terrifying. It had just casually come up in your conversation, but he had immediately started listening when you broached the subject. With a look of sadness in his eyes, he told you that he was sorry if he ever scared you, and even when you told him that he didn't, he promised to always protect you and treat you gently. Then, he asked if you wanted a bite of his chips.
Belphegor
Belphie chuckled to himself when you told him you found demons scary, almost as if it was a joke. "Really?" he asked, and when you nodded seriously, he leaned in closer, his sleepy eyes and crooked smile calming you. "We aren't that scary, you know. Most of us are pretty stupid, anyway. I mean, you've met my brothers." You two laughed, and he grabbed your hand as your worries drifted away.

Sometimes all you need is a little love
At 5, you were loved. Your mum and dad adored you. Everything was about you and your parents. They worked hard, and in return you got to fulfil your dream of being a footballer.
At 8, things started to change. Sundays that were usually filled with church in the morning, and Barcelona games in the afternoon slowly started to disappear.
Your mum and dad were fighting. She was looking frail, unwell, a shell of herself. He looked angry, distant, with marks on his arms, coming home smelling like cigarettes and flowers. It was a weird smell, it would linger in the air for hours to come.
Gone were the days when they would both come to your football. It was one or the other, sometimes even none of them.
At 10, you found her. Hanging. You just sat there, watching her. Eventually going to the neighbours you thought you knew. Turns out they moved out and there was a new family. An older lady, Eli. She let you come inside and called for help while distracting you with cookies and her white fluffy dog.
From that day, things changed. Your father’s love became less and less. His violence and drinking became more. He had a new girlfriend every other month. Barely lasting the entire calendar month.
By age 12, La Masia came knocking. A full scholarship was on offer. It was your dream. Something you and your parents had worked hard for, together. Expect now it was just you. Forging your dad’s signature, you dropped the forms back off. Transferring to their academy the week later.
La Masia was hard. Harder than you expect. Maybe it was because things at home were worse than ever before, your dad lost his job, the random woman continued however now there was random men added into it. Home wasn’t a safe place for you or anyone in that case.
At 14, things hit an all time low, bruises and marks were becoming harder to hide with your promotion to the Barca B team. They were all so close to each other, hanging out after training, getting food or going shopping, their weekends were all spent together. But not with you. As much as they tried you shielded away from it. School and football were the two things that matter - there was no time for anything else, no time to worry about anything else.
The closest thing you had to a parent was the lady across the hall, every few days there would be a plate of food at the front door when you arrived home. On Sundays it was a bigger meal, you’d divvy it out so it would last a few extra days. The limited money you did have was given to your dad, you’d keep some of it but it wasn’t enough for the bus fare and food. It was one of the other.
Every morning you would make the one hour trek from your home in Mollet del Vallès, using that time to do your homework, study plays or rewatch games, sometimes even catching a few more minutes of sleep. Every evening, after training you’d stay and help pack away the equipment, sometime just relishing in the warmth of the facility, the endless hot water, the feeling of safety.
One night, after missing the last bus, you hide in a supply closet. Knowing there was no way you’d get home that night, you huddled around the spare clothes and clean towels. It oddly was one of the best sleeps you’d had in years. The constant security that would walk around the facility made you feel safe.
After that initial night, there were many more nights of sleeping at the facility. Was it the best idea? Probably not, but it was the safest, and the warmest.
15 was when things really changed. At some point, your dad just stopped coming home. He’d be gone for days at a time. This time though, he was gone for almost three weeks. You bloomed in the silence. The apartment was clean, airy, in contrast to the dark, stuffy air that usually resides.
On Christmas Eve things came to ahead. There wasn’t much food left. A few eggs, some bread and some cereal. No milk, vegetables or anything fresh. Biting the bullet, you made your way across the hall to the older ladies door. She had told you before that if you needed anything, to just knock. So you did, rocking back and forth on your heels, you were shocked when the door swung open and none other than Alexia Putellas, captain of the Barcelona Women’s team, 2 time Ballon D’Or winner, was standing there with a smile on her face.
“Hola pequeña, are you ok?”
“Oh, um, hola? Is Eli here?”
“Si, come in.” You stood there for a moment, staring at her, “mami a pequeña is here for you!” Eli, the nice, caring older woman was Alexia Putellas mother. Of course she was.
“Neña! To what do I owe this visit?”
“I am very sorry to interrupt and be rude, but I was wondering if you had any milk I could please have? My papi has gone away for a bit and forgot to leave some money.”
“You’re alone? You’re no older than 16?” A smaller but almost identical person chimed in.
“Si. I am 15”. A shy nod was all you could muster, the energy you previously had disappeared.
“Well where did he go? Are you alone for Christmas?”
“Uh, um a work trip? Si, si, a work trip! He will be back at some point, I’m sure.” It was a lie, a terrible horrible lie and everyone in that room knew. All three older women shared a look.
“Here is some milk Nena. Do you want to stay for dinner?”
“No no that’s okay. Thank you for the milk, I will give you money when I get some!”
“Nonsense dear. It’s just milk.”
Silently you grabbed the milk and started to walk towards the door, leaving the three women staring at you. Eli’s eyes expressed sadness, Alexia’s were confused, she knew you from somewhere but she couldn’t place it, Alba was bewildered, she remembered being 15 and there was no way in hell that Eli would’ve left her home alone, but especially not over the holiday period.
“She is a good girl. She studies hard, she’s at La Masia. Always very polite but something is off in the house.”
Alexia’s head whipped around, “she’s at the academy?” Eli nodded, “how does she get there? it’s a 40 minute drive and she’s not old enough?”
“I don’t know Alexia, tonight was the most she’s spoken to me since she came asking for the ambulance when her mami died.”
“That was her?” A nod was all alexia received. For the rest of the night they were all silent, you went to bed with a small amount of food in your stomach. The 8 pieces of French toast were enough to get you through until the farmers market opened on the 26th.
A dread washed over you the following afternoon when there was a knock at the front door. Opening it slowly, and only half showing your face, Alexia and Alba (you learnt her name after googling Alexia), were standing there.
“Hola pequeña. Mami asked if you and your papi wanted to join us for dinner?” Alexia voice was firm, almost as if there wasn’t room for you to say no.
“Um, sure. My papi isn’t back yet, but what time does she want us?”
“Now-“
“An hour-“ both girls spoke at the same time. Alba wanting to give you time to do whatever you needed, but alexia wanted you father to show himself. Unbeknownst to you, she had reached out to the La Masia staff and a few of the younger girls.
Vicky and Martina had told her the little information that they knew. You were young, talented and a hard worker. You’d catch the bus to and from training, never really talking to anyone and certainly never hanging out with them. They’d offered to help you with your homework, Vicky realising very quickly that you were both in the same grade despite you being two years younger. Both Vicky and Martina felt that there was something off, never seeing your father or anyone supporting you at games, not even at the international friendly with the under 17s that you’d been called up too.
“Okay? How about half an hour?”
“That works. See you soon pequeña!” Alba grabbed her older sisters arm, pulling her away from the door. You slid down the back of yours once it was firmly closed. You needed to think of the perfect lie. Maybe you could say he was too tired, or stuck in traffic. No that wouldn’t work, if he was stuck in traffic they’d wait. The truth wasn’t an option. There’s no way you could just blurt out that you didn’t know where he was.
The dinner was uncomfortable, the food was delicious but the unasked questions were making a lot of tension. You didn’t miss the way Alba and Eli continued to glance at you, or how their eyes went wide when you asked for more. This definitely cemented that something was wrong.
The loud clattering of Alexia’s fork and knife, stopped you from shoveling more food in your mouth.
“This is ridiculous. Pequeña, where is your papi?”
“Don’t know.” You spoke nonchalantly, putting more food into your mouth. Confused looks where thrown around. Eli’s head slowly reaching for yours and taking the fork, “sweetheart, what do you mean you don’t know?”
“I don’t know. He could be stuck at work, or in traffic or asleep.” I shrugged. It was a semi decent lie.
“Does he leave for long periods often?”
“No. It’s usually just a few days.”
“Where does he go?”
To get high, to fuck hookers, to steal, “work trips.”
Thankfully the subject was dropped as Eli gave you back your fork. It didn’t feel like Christmas, no gifts were exchanged, no decorations or Christmas movies. It felt like a Sunday after church, all that was left was a trip to Camp Nou to watch a game but that wasn’t going to happen. Not now, not ever again.
Eli sent you home when a lot of leftovers, ignoring the comments from her own two daughters that they would’ve liked to have some too. It was enough food for at least a month. You’d eaten plenty at dinner so the need for food tomorrow would be less.
The following week was a blur. There was only two training sessions and school was off until after the New Year. Your father had yet to make a reappearance and due to the holidays, you were hiding in the house so you wouldn’t have to see any three of the Putellas women and answer questions.
It worked, for three weeks, until the night you had planned to sleep in the same storage room as usual. Alexia appeared, fresh out of the shower.
“Pequeña? What are you still doing here? It’s late.”
“I lost track of time. I was studying.”
“How are you getting home? Is your papi coming?”
“No. I’m catching the bus.” You felt guilty lying to her, but it was the best option. No one would get hurt this way.
“Let me drive you home. It’s late and you really shouldn’t be catching the bus.”
Before you could argued, she’d grabbed the straps of your bag, dragging it and you along to her car. It was an awkward 40 minutes. Her car was much more comfortable than the bus, warmer and safer. You were still on high alert, especially when she was asking you questions.
For the past five years you didn’t let anyone get close. It was easier that way. You didn’t have to explain the tiredness that was evident on your face, the random bruises that happened, the obvious weightless from the lack of food.
From that moment on you silently agreed to keep everyone further way. You had to be more careful, no more roaming the halls after training. No more asking Eli for milk, or bread, or anything. Leaving extra early in the morning or as soon as training ended. No more being vulnerable.
The day of your 16th birthday was supposed to be a good one. However your father had other plans. You’d been training with the senior team due to some injuries and then needing players, Jona had told you last night he would play you after halftime. A senior debut on your 16th birthday.
That night you’d come home so incredibly happy only for it to come crashing down when your extremely intoxicated father decided to start a fight over the lack of money. He didn’t stop hitting you for what felt like hours. You weren’t sure if you passed out from the pain or from the exhaustion but you knew the following day it would be hell.
The house was littered with used needles, smashed and empty bottles, and it smelt of cigarettes and stale booze. Your arms and legs were covered in bruises as well as a shiner on your face. That one would be the hardest to cover. it took an hour and large amount of makeup before you were confident about leaving the house. The bruise was mostly covered. You didn’t think it was that obvious though. The looks you received on the bus, and even as you walked through the halls, didn’t make you question your makeup job.
True to his word, jona put you on in the 75th minute, subbing Salma off. It was electrifying, a rush you’d never felt before. Then game ended with a win, of course, there was a lot of praise from the older girls. Mario was incredibly impressed and offered to work with you more if you were interested. Something you immediately said yes too. Your bubble was burst when Alexia came over to tell her Eli was there and wanted to see you.
The moment you were within arms reach of Eli, she could tell something was wrong. So could Alexia’s girlfriend, Olga, who she had just introduced you too. After chatting a bit more, Eli demanded she would take you home, making you hurry to gather your belongings in the locker room, forgoing a shower as you didn’t bring makeup to re-cover the bruise on your face.
“Olga you need to help her with makeup.” Alba joked before hugging her sister goodbye. Olga and Eli shared a concerned looked.
“Why is she wearing make up?”
“Mami she’s 16. Teenagers wear makeup all the time. It doesn’t mean anything.” Eli shook her head, there was something wrong but she didn’t know what or how to ask you.
“Ale, keep an eye on her yeah?”
“Olga she’s fine. She’s just a teenager.” Olga’s eyes pleaded with her, “si fine. I will watch over her.”
Two weeks later things came crashing down horribly. You’d been moved into the senior squad officially, that came with perks. More money was the main one. It would only be a few months until you’d officially graduate high school, that meant you could pick up a part time job as well as football. What you didn’t account for was your father.
When you walked in the door you were greeted with a random lady and a little boy, no older than 3, your father was very quickly shoving things into boxes and taping them up.
“What’s going on?” Neither of the adults spared a glance at you.
“I’m leaving. Thea and I are moving to Madrid.”
“I can’t leave papi! The season is still going and i haven’t finished school yet!”
“Good thing you weren’t invited then.” The last scoffed, flipping her son to the other hip. Your eyes were wide. Not believing what you were hearing.
“Tomorrow, the moving truck will be here. You need to be gone by then.”
“Wait! Where will I go? You can’t leave me here!” You yelled after them as they left the apartment. No longer caring who heard or who saw.
“You’re not my problem anymore. I couldn’t care less about what you do or don’t do.” He turned to leave, “you could do the world a favour and hang yourself like your mother did.” With that he was gone. The apartment was mostly empty.
You found the two biggest bags that you could carry. Filling one with all your football stuff, the other with you clothes, the few jumpers of your mothers that you had left, a sleeping bag and pillow. In your school backpack you packed your laptop and all the school work, plus your important documents (birth certificate, photo IDs, passport.)
Though you had no idea where you would go, you knew you’d figure it out. What you didn’t account for was Eli. of course she would notice the moving vans, and the lack of you.
Every second night you’d leave the training facility, set on finding somewhere that was semi safe to sleep. Even though it was the start of February, you knew the beach would be ok. There was enough light to keep you safe, you also had a little knife you stole from your father along time ago.
The last morning before it all went to shit, you were sitting with your bags, still in your sleeping bag, watching the sunrise. Barcelona was quiet at this time of the morning. A few runners or cyclists around but other than that it was peaceful.
“Pequeña? What are you doing here so early?” A semi familiar face dropped in front of you, startling you out of your thoughts. Unable to talk, you just stared at her. “I’m Olga, Alexia’s girlfriend. We met a couple of weeks ago. Do you remember?”
I nodded, she continued on, “what are you doing here? Did you sleep here?”
“What? No! No I just like coming here in the mornings!” I hurried to get up, quickly shoving my things back into my bags, that’s when the knife dropped on the sand, right in front of Olga. We both stopped and stared at it.
“Pequeña-“
“I better go. Enjoy your day.” I quickly picked it up and all but ran towards the bus stop. My thoughts were spiralling. She was going to tell Alexia. I wouldn’t be allowed to play, I’d be sent away somewhere else.
Training was hell. No matter how much you tried to avoid Irene, Marta or Alexia they always appeared. It didn’t seem that Olga had told Alexia or that anyone else knew but it was only a matter of time. All you needed was a few weeks, just to get through the Copa de la Reina final and then you could figure it out.
Thankfully the week went fast and the game on the weekend was a success. There were no more run ins with Olga, or any of the captains of the team. You went as far to complete ignore Eli, Alba and Olga after the game. Quickly running into the locker room and showering before anyone else.
It was harder to hide in the facility after home games. It was busy with trainers, medical staff, admin staff, basically everyone but you figured it out. It was a restless sleep, the close call with Olga playing in your mind on repeat.
Unbeknownst to you, Eli had mentioned it to Alexia at their usual family dinner post match.
“Nena moved.”
“To where?” Both Alba and Alexia’s head shot up.
“I don’t know. She didn’t say anything. I heard her papi say Madrid. I’m assuming she isn’t joining since she’s still playing here.”
“I’ll find out.” Olga knew in that moment she needed to come clean about finding you on the beach. Clearly you didn’t have somewhere safe to stay. Later that night, when it was just her and Alexia cuddled in their bed she did just that.
“I saw Nena at the beach the other morning.”
“Likely place for her to be. She has mentioned loving the beach in the past.” Alexia dismissed what Olga was saying, not particularly understanding why that was important.
“No ale. I think she slept there. She had a sleeping bag and heaps of stuff.”
Silence encapsulated the couple. “I’ll deal with it.” was all the captain said before rolling over and going to sleep. Expect, she didn’t sleep. She played through every interaction she’d had with you, every imagine of you in her mind. You looked tired, the light behind your eyes was gone, you had fully retreated back into your shell, barely talking at training or games, only answering questions when directly asked.
Something was definitely wrong, very very wrong. Enlisting the help of Irene and Marta and Olga, they would find out exactly how wrong it was.
It was evident when you came into training that you hadn’t slept, the truth was that the beach no longer felt safe. Not after that creepy man was watching you. Staying at the facility every night wasn’t an option, neither was staying with a teammate. So you stay at the train station all night. It was relatively safe, but the thought of that man kept you awake.
You’d gotten half way through the day when you snapped. Usually you’d try and stick to Caro or Keira’s sides. Caro because she was quiet and Keira because she couldn’t exactly understand you and you couldn’t understand her. Unfortunately the gym groups were assigned differently today, meaning you got stuck with Mapi, Pina, Patri and Cata. The group of people you hated being around the most. There was never a quiet moment, they were always loud. So incredibly loud.
It was after Mapi had ruffled your hair for the third time that you mumbled for her to stop.
“We can’t hear you gallina. Speak up.” Patri laughed.
“I said, don’t touch me. And don’t call me gallina.” Your patience was thinning, and fast.
“Cheer up gallina. We are just playing.” Mapi went to ruffle your hair again, your hands landing on her chest and shoving her back into Cata.
“I said don’t fucking touch me Maria!” Everyone stopped, turning in horror to see the scene unfold. Tears welled in your eyes, you bolted as fast as you could.
“Nena-“ Ingrid tried to grab your wrists but you dodged her.
Alexia, Irene and Marta all stopped what they were doing. It was extremely unlike you to be so aggressive and rude. No matter how shy you were, you always used your manners. They all shared a look before following you to the locker room.
You rushed through the locker room trying to get your bags packed as fast as possible. You had no idea where you would go, but you needed to get out of here. Far away from the sympathetic looks of your teammates. You were so far in your own head that you didn’t hear the cleats on the floor or the door to the locker opening.
“Nena? What’s wrong?” Irene’s hand on your shoulder startled you.
“Nothing I’m fine. I need to go.” You shrugged her hand off you, putting your backpack on and grabbing your duffle that contained your pillow and sleeping bag.
“Please let us help Nena. We want to help you but we can’t if you don’t let us.” Marta spoke up next, as you looked up you saw that Alexia was standing between you and the door, the only route out of the locker room.
“Please move. I want to go home.”
“Home? Where is that Nena? It’s not in Mollet del Vallès. I know that much.”
You squeezed your eyes shut and took a deep breath, yelling at your captains was a horrible idea, truly horrible. Even in this mental state you knew that, “I do not want to be rude Alexia, but it’s none of your business. I come here, I train, I play, I do as I am told, I don’t make trouble or do anything wrong. Please let me leave.”
Alexia looked troubled. You needed help, that much was clear, but you were right. You did everything that was asked of you, never complaining or whining about it. She looked to Irene for help, Irene simply nodded and alexia moved.
“If you need help, somewhere to stay, you have my address and you know where Mami is.”
A curt nod was all she received and then you were gone. As fast as you could walk without causing any attention to yourself. You spent the next few hours walking around. When it was dark and late, the train station was where you headed. It wasn’t until you were comfy that you realised you grabbed the wrong bag. You left your sleeping bag and more importantly your phone charger at the training facility. There wasn’t much that could be done now, you just had to wait it out.
As you walked into training, you could feel everyone’s eyes on you. You were late, never have you been late before. The lack of proper sleep, nutrition and your body always on high alert was getting to you. By the end of training you were exhausted. Barely having the energy to walk into the locker rooms to shower. Usually when someone was late without giving a proper warning, they’d run laps. No one told you to run laps so you didn’t.
A few days later, at the beach, Olga saw you again. This time you looked worse than before. She made her way to a local bakery, getting water, coffee and something for you to eat before making her way back towards you and hoping you wouldn’t run off.
“¿Niña? Can I sit with you?” She startled you, that much was obvious but you nodded and she handed over everything she bought.
“Why are you here?”
“I like the beach.”
“You’re sleeping here?” She could tell you were scared, it took a while for you to reply.
“Only sometimes.”
Olga nodded, the silence settling over the both of you. “Let me take you to training?”
The drive seem to take forever. It was uncomfortable, Olga wanted to get more information out of you, you wanted nothing more then to be swallowed into a black hole.
“Niña? If you don’t have anywhere safe and warm to stay, please come to mine and Ale’s? We won’t be mad, or disappointed. We want to help you. Okay?”
You gave her a small nod, moving to wipe your tears and get out of the car. Unbeknownst to the both of you, Alexia was in her own car a few metres away watching the whole thing.
It took a day for Alexia to coax all the information out of Olga but when she finally did, she was heartbroken. The thing she had hoped wasn’t true, was in fact true. You were living on the street. Sleeping wherever you could, your papi had left you to fend for yourself. It’s not that you were doing a horrible job at it, but it was obvious you weren’t eating or sleeping enough.
The night of the El Classico is when things went truly horrible. Alexia had told Irene, Mapi and Marta what had happened but any time they tried to talk to you, you literally ran away.
The streets of Barcelona were well and truly alive. The Madrid fans had left the Johan feeling annoyed, angry and disappointed. Anyone would when their team lost 7-0. It probably wasn’t the smartest idea to sleep on the beach that night, but there truly wasn’t anywhere else. The train station would’ve been worse, the facility wouldn’t be quiet until after midnight, and there was no way you’d go to a teammates house.
You’d only just drifted to sleep when you heard the group of guys approaching. They were drunk, that much was obvious. Pretty quickly you woke yourself up, but you didn’t dare to move. Maybe they would just keep walking. Your back was facing the sea, and them but as soon as they laid their hands on you, you turned around.
“Oye, it’s the Barca puta.”
“You’re the reason we lost.”
“We should break her legs!”
The fear set it. As soon as the hits started, they ended. Not only had they assaulted you, but they had stolen your school bag that contained your laptop, water bottle and phone charger. It look a while for the pain to become tolerable. you could recognise that you were bleeding, your ribs hurt, along with your arm, head and leg. You were scared and alone.
Abandoning the beach, you made your way to the one place you could think of. The two women who had urged you time and time again to let them help you, you had refused but right now you needed it more than anything. With the help of your phone maps, you managed to get to their apartment. It took a lot longer than it should have, having to stop every now and then to take deep breaths when the pain was too bad.
You weakly raised your fist to the door, the energy was zapped out of you. It felt like forever before someone answered.
“Hol- holy fuck. Alexia! Come here neña. Let me help you. ALEXIA!” Olga answered the door, annoyed that someone was knocking so late at night. The minute she opened it, she wanted to cry. You were stood there, bloodied and bruised. Seemingly out of it, looking so small and frightened.
She starting leading you to the kitchen when alexia finally came, “what? Oh my god, pequena! What happened?”
“Hurt.”
“Where hurts neña?”
“Head bleeding… arm broken, I think… maybe ribs… leg too. Stole my school bag.” Alexia was freaking out, the usual calm, stoic captain was on the verge of tears.
“We need to call the police Olga! And mami and Irene and-“
“Ale stop. Neña, drink this yes? Alexia is going to get the first aid from the bathroom and we are going to clean you up. We will need to take you to the hospital, but that can wait for a few minutes.” She gave alexia a pointed look while she opened the water bottle and helped you drink.
Their apartment was soft. Very homey and not clinical like you imagined. There were photos of Alexia and her family, Olga and hers, then of them both. There were plants scattered around, a few awards here and there but not many, the one thing that seemed out of place was the dog bed and toys.
“Dog?” Olga’s eyes followed yours, confused as to what you were asking.
“Nala. She died last year but we haven’t been able to get rid of her things.”
“Sorry”. Alexia arrived back with the first aid kit, phone to her ear and a lot less panicked but a lot more mad. that stressed you out, Olga picking up on it straight away. Things moved fast from that point. Alexia and Olga cleaned you up the best they could but ultimately decided that you needed the hospital. It was all a blur. One minute you were in their apartment, the next you were in a hospital gown sitting in a room.
Alexia was non stop pacing, you sat there, wide eyed waiting for her to say something.
“You can say it.” You whispered.
Both girls stopped and looked at you confused, “say what pequena?”
“I told you so’ or ‘you should’ve let me help’, whatever you have planned just say it.” You could no longer look at them, staring down at the floor. You missed the look of heartbreak sweep across both their faces.
“No no pequena. This isn’t your fault. None of this is your fault. There’s no ‘I told you so’ to be said. You came to use when you needed help, we are here now to help that’s all that matters. Okay?” Alexia slowly reached out to wipe the tears from your face.
“I’m sorry.” That was it. All three of you were holding each other crying. Time seemed to blend into one second. You got stitches in your eyebrow and on your leg, your arm was in fact broken and a cast was put on. The doctor seemed to talk and talk, none of the words making any sense. It was until you saw the two police officers standing outside that you seemed to snap out of it.
The doctor left the room, seemingly to talk to the police officers and give them a run down. Olga noticed how on edge you were very quickly.
“Hey, neña, they are only here to ask what happened okay? You aren’t in any trouble.”
You stood up quickly, grabbing the bag with your blood stained clothes, “no I need to go. This was a mistake.”
“Go where pequena?”
“They are going to take me away! I don’t have anywhere to live Alexia! Papi left. He got rid of the house. Mami is dead. I have no where so I’m going to leave before they can take me.”
“Neña no.” Olga moved to block the door. She is small. You could take her, you thought. “You’re staying with us. They aren’t going to take you because you have a home, with us. You will stay as long as needed.”
Alexia and Olga hadn’t exactly had the conversation about it, but they both seemed to be able to read each other’s minds. They were going to take care of you, love you like your parents should have. Sure you’re 16, almost an adult. But everyone needs a parental figure, no matter the age.
“No. You two have your own life, I’m not your responsibility. I can take care of myself, I have been for years.”
“But you can’t neña. You can’t get an apartment, or a phone plan, or your drivers licence. If you’ll let us, we will take care of you.” You were considering it, really considering it. Having a proper bed, proper meals, somewhere safe? It sounded like heaven.
“It won’t be easy pequena, it’ll be hard. For all of us. We’ll have to learn to trust each other, and learn how to live with each other but it’ll be worth it. You can decorate the room however you want, we will buy you whatever you need.”
Before the could continue, the police came in. It took a while to answer all their questions. You could see Alexia and Olga holding hands tightly, wincing slightly when you go into detail.
“What about my school bag? It has all my school stuff and my laptop?”
“We will look for it, but there’s no promises it’ll be found. Do you have somewhere safe to stay?”
“With Alexia and Olga.” You could visibly feel the tension leave both the women. The officers asked Alexia and Olga to step out with them to talk, you took a few moments to gather your thoughts. How had things changed so much. You were just a kid, yet you were forced to look after yourself like you were an adult. You wanted to be vulnerable, to have someone take care of you. Sometimes all we need is a little love.
Maybe in time, things would get better.

baby brother!Charlie getting wood late at night and coming to wake you up for help because hes just so horny for you its pathetic and he doesnt know what else to do with himself
oh how i love you brother!Charlie
im french kissing your brain pookie <3
hey, ignore that it's mid-november, here's a halloween post
genderfucked reader, im indecisive
cw: somno, incest (WAHOO), dubcon but everyone's fine with everything, of course one of my first works back is part of the sibcon charlie au (as far as i know, created by @moistcl1tikal-ao3 )
he couldnt stop looking at you all night, your cute little whore-for-halloween costume hugging you just perfectly. but he had to save those thoughts and memories for later!
except later did not happen, he crashed as soon as he laid down on his bed after the parties and events you dragged him to so you could show off your cute, nerdy lil bro
so, naturally, he woke up about 2 hours later with the hardest boner of his life the month. all because he kept dreaming of getting to touch you under your booty shorts
poor boy was still too tired to wanna deal with it though! so he tried to go back to sleep, deal with it in the morning, but he couldnt get comfy or stop thinking about your head between his legs
plan a failed, time for plan b: choke the chicken
he tried so hard, looked up all his favorite pornos, his favorite pictures of you, a pair of stolen panties, he pulled out all the stops :/ and it just made him ache and throb more for you
so final plan, the riskiest plan, wake you up and beg on his goddamn knees that you aren't too grumpy
he knew you werent the nicest person ever when you got woken up, especially when somewhat hungover, so he tread with caution
even got a towel, pillow, snack, and bottle of water for you :(
busts out every petname in the book when he tries to shake you awake
"sissy.. sis? brother?? dearest sibling??? bubba???? 🤨 you alive motherfucker???" the shaking picked up speed and intensity, no longer worried about you being mad, just half convinced you passed away in your sleep
"geddafuqouddaherecharlee" you mutter, smacking him away but still rolling over for him to join you, thinking he had a nightmare or something
charlie slid into bed behind you, careful to not make any sudden moves, worried he'd say or do the wrong thing and ruin his chances of getting some tonight
he talked to you sweetly, gently, with purpose, he was making amazing points
"i dunno if i'm allowed to ask or if only you get to initiate but i'll do all your chores for a month if you help me out here..."
he waited
nothing happened
you were out COLD
so time for his impromptu new final plan: beg for forgiveness not permission. he tries to rationalize it! you've never rejected his advances before, you're insatiable, this is probably something your into! maybe just being in your bed and surrounded by the smell of you can help him get there
so he stole some lube from your bedside table
it was so absurdly cold that he of course made a very manly sound (screamed like a mouse would) and jumped a bit, enough to wake you up again
so you turn to charlie, terrified because what the fuck was your little brother possibly experiencing to shatter everyone's eardrums at 2:33am
and you catch him, cock in one hand, other hand covering his mouth to avoid making more noise, but you already caught him slick-handed. and if you weren't so exhausted you would absolutely jump his bones in an instant, but the hangover was already kicking in so while seeing your younger brother trying to jerk off to you in your own bed would usually light a bonfire in your gut, this was more like a backyard fire pit sized one
so, being the amazing older sibling you are, you chuckle and coo at him, inching your hand towards the one on his cock
"awww my poor baby brother cant get off without me?" you fake a pout as your hand finds its way to cupping his balls, massaging gently
"pleasepleaseplease, need you so bad, needed you-needed you all night" he begs and involuntarily bucks his hips into your hand, eyes glued shut and hands fisted in your sheets, overcome with pleasure
he doesn't see or i guess hear or feel you shifting to be closer to his dick, or he just doesn't acknowledge it
but he sure notices when you grab the base and flick your tongue over the tip
"you're too cute" is the last thing he hears before being overrun by pure ecstasy as he finally cums when you take him fully down your throat, thank yous pouring out of his pink, bitten lips
his hands fly to hold your head in place, you let him until you start gagging
he lets go and starts profusely apologizing and thanking you
"you can make it up to me if you want.." you say seductively as you lay on your back and spread your knees just enough to get the point across
@th3-circus @xoxoave @jschladderall @manticore-fangs
im not dead which is shocking to everyone im pretty sure.. anyway here ya go <3

One Month Post Confinement
There was silence throughout the fortress. You had come here for closure after waiting for so long. Jihoon had agreed to accompany you to the confinement chamber, you were going to need the support. He assured you that Joshua, Dino and Minghao would also be present, to ensure your safety and comfort.
Arm in arm, you and Jihoon walked down the spiral staircase that led to the underground levels. You tightened your hold on Jihoon’s bicep as you made your descent, uncertain of what would greet you.
The dim, torch lit corridor welcomed you with stale air and the hum of warding magic. Jihoon stopped you before moving any further.
“Remember we can take this slow. Don’t feel pressured-”
“It’s okay, Jihoon.” You took a deep breath. “I waited enough, I’m ready.”
With a nod, Jihoon continued to lead you down the hall. As you marched forward the three other Arcanist’s joined you. Minghao was the first to notice you, the Diviner bowing as he met you.
“It’s nice to finally meet you face to face.” Minghao smiled as he held out his hand.
You grabbed his hand and offered a soft shake. He gently flipped your hand, palm side up and traced over the lines.
“Did anyone inform you that your Psyche would be categorized as Fortis?” The Diviner continued to study your palm.
“Minghao, not now. Wait until after this- then you can tell their fortune.” Dino said, half annoyed.
“Are you ready, Sage?” Joshua asked as he motioned toward the cell door.
You simply nodded your head and with that, Joshua opened the warded cell. Your heart rate spiked as you listened to the mechanisms within the door unlatch and click. Slowly, the door opened with grinding stone echoing throughout the hall.
Kneeling in the center of the cell was Jeonghan, pale and exhausted. He lazily lifted his head and grinned as he locked eyes with you. Carefully, you relinquished your hold on Jihoon and approached the Siren.
“Hello, Sage…” Jeonghan’s voice rasped out, clearly dry and starving.
“Hi, Jeonghan. I see they’ve been treating you well…” You replied, keeping your tone even and calm.
The man before you chuckled. “You joke now, Sage. Sooner or later, I will be out of these confines…”
“We don’t intend on letting you out.” Joshua said with a hardened expression.
“Emphasis on later then.” Jeonghan smirked to himself, clearly enjoying the attention. “It is nice to see you, Sage.”
“The sentiment is not shared…” You groaned.
“You know, you always spoke like her. I knew the second I met you…” He giggled to himself, delirious from malnutrition.
Dino placed a hand on your shoulder, but you ignored him.
“Wow- You’ve really gone off the deep end while here…” You scoffed. “I don’t know what I was so worried about. This is just sad.” You turned to Joshua. “That’s all the closure I needed. It confirmed that he’s in here and I’m free, so- Lock it up.”
Joshua recast the ward and the door began to close. You got one more look at his face, bright brown eyes, dull in the lack of light, staring at you.
“Oh~ Just you wait Sage…” The Siren laughed to himself. “We’ll meet again…”
With those final words, the door was sealed. Joshua sighed, clearly annoyed by just seeing Jeonghan. Dino gave you a quick squeeze around your shoulders as a job well done and Minghao offered his arm. You graciously accepted it and walked with him. Among the dull surroundings Minghao looked like a beacon, cloaked in white garb. There was a certain elegance to his step as he guided you back upstairs.
“We should all gather here in Diamond Hall proper. Enjoy some tea, Wonwoo could use the company.” The Diviner spoke in a modulated tone, his voice soft and pleasant.
“I was going to ask, how is the old man?” You spoke lightly, trying to keep the mood positive.
“He’s doing very well.” Dino answered. “Still a bit weak and can’t- or- shouldn’t cast any spells, but he’s on the mend. I estimate a full recovery in another month or so.”
“Damn- That blade really did a number on him…”
Minghao clicked his tongue. “Ah- Wonwoo is strong.” He patted your hand reassuringly. “He’s bounced back from much worse.”
The five of you journeyed to Wonwoo’s quarters. His room was a mess, Dino had created a makeshift workstation for himself and Soonyoung must have spent quite some time here if the crawling ivy is anything to go off of. The green leaves grew all along the headboard of his bed and hung from the balcony. You smiled at the change of scenery, it had been a few weeks since you visited.
The Archivist was napping, Cosmos at his side, her head laying on his lap. A yellow eye opened and watched as you all entered. Gently, she nudged Wonwoo and mooed softly to stir him awake.
Wonwoo opened his eyes and squinted in your direction. You approached his nightstand and grabbed his glasses, lightly placing them on his face.
His eyes lit up in recognition as he saw you and the others. “Oh- Good Evening, Sage. What are you all doing here so late?”
“Minghao said he wanted to have tea with everyone here.” You replied, speaking softly due to the Archivist sensitive state.
A soft smile parted Wonwoo’s lips as he looked up at you. “That sounds wonderful. What blend did you bring with you, Minghao?”
Everyone enjoyed a blend of chamomile and rose petals, a calming tea for a silent evening. It was enjoyable and relaxing, you felt safe and whole here with your friends. You knew that no matter what happened, the friends you made along the way were now your family. Even if some of them liked to stray and felt as though they didn’t deserve kindness. You made it your mission to have it so everyone felt loved. It was the least you could do after everything that happened.
Seungcheol had planned in advance his departure from this world. When he thought about it in that way, it seemed dark, so he decided to just call it a vacation. He had messaged his family about his situation. That he wanted to visit the city, go and see the sights to take his mind off things.
It was a well crafted lie. Everyone knew Seungcheol needed to take time for himself, that he needed to decompress. The only problem was that he was leaving this Earth, this world. He was going to be far away with no way of getting back. Minghao did tell him that it was a risk, that he might not even make it to the other side, but it was a risk he was willing to take. Seungcheol would do anything to his friends again, his found family.
He still had a few more months. December was just around the corner, but he had to be patient. His interactions with Minghao were scattered, far and few in between, but it was enough to take the edge off. The Diviner would tell Seungcheol stories of how Seokmin did everything in his power to recreate photos from his past life . That he needed to get every detail correct, so that he would never forget what his friends looked like. Minghao told him he kept the photos on the wall his bed was against, so that he could fall asleep thinking of his friends, that they would hopefully visit his dreams.
Minghao did warn Seungcheol that his other friend, Sage as they call themself now, did not remember him yet . The Diviner warned the other that memories could be lost, but he and another Arcanist were working on a spell to help him retain core memories. Minghao could not guarantee anything, only that he would try his best and that a successful spell would be a reward to them both.
Seungcheol was ready.
He wasn’t going to back down.
He would finally be whole again.
Our sky is a beautiful thing. In the morning it is a dull blue, As it becomes day it turns vibrant, Dusk is all oranges and purples, While the night sky is a deep indigo. Clouds can obscure its beauty, But it’s still there, Patiently waiting to show itself once more.
Fallin' Flower Vol.2 coming soon
Co-Author Notes:
I'm going to shamelessly plug myself here because I am an attention whore :D If you wanna read somethings that I've done, check out my master list here
Hi guys :D It's me, @wooahaeruby your lovely cowriter. I hope everyone enjoyed the first installment of Fallin Flower. It was a labor of love for Doahae and I am very proud of him for finishing it back last year on Ao3. When I started posting my own work on Tumblr, I knew y'all would eat it up so I cross posted it for him here.
Now, I'm going to be honest with you. I have no idea when Fallin Flower 2 is coming out. No idea.
TBH, both our editor and I have been joking like "When will Fallin Flower 2 return from war?" for so long so... Yeah, I have no answers for you. But...as you know, perfection takes time and effort.
HOWEVER, I have heard from Doahae, that he was....writing yesterday. I have no idea what that means. I have no checked in because we instead watched Deadpool and Wolverine yesterday (and played Overwatch, don't asked).
Here is a screenshot of our groupchat confirming it. Enjoy
Honestly, I'm hoping I can get him to talk to me about FF2 because there were so many ideas brainstormed then we just never talked about it again lmao
For now, this is goodbye, and an end of a current era in the Fallin Flower Realm.
IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS OR WANNA CHAT ABOUT FF1, YOU CAN SEND ME AN ASK ON MY TUMBLR! I'M ACTIVE I SWEAR.
To join a tag list, please comment on the Fallin' Flower Master List!

“Sit, sit."
"It's fine. I..."
He flushed when Anne took notice of his limp; he'd intentionally spoken lightly of his wound in past conversations, in past correspondences, but for her to finally see the extent of his injury in the present, all while he was in such a state of undress... he felt bared to her but rather than be humiliated, he felt relief.
Anne didn't have to say anything, but she did, "I can massage your leg later if its still bothering you. I don't want it to stop you from enjoying your day," and it was the mere thought of making such an offer that made his fondness for her increase tenfold.
"Hey," he said it quietly, just loud enough to get her attention, "nothing could stop me from enjoying today," and then he was back to passing her a plate from the breakfast tray; Anne was in motion though, risen just enough to fetch her robe and when she moved, with the way the sunlight reflected through the windows, it made the edges of her shift nearly transparent and he could make out every curve, every shape of her body under the sheer material. He could've watched her forever, not with lust, with acknowledgement; he felt a hint of pride, knowing he was allowed to see her like this, so undressed, so unkempt, so unladylike.
“Milk and sugar. Just a dash of both.”
Absentmindedly, he turned his attention to the trays, reaching for the cream and sugar for her tea, going so far as to hover the handheld pitcher of milk above her cup before hesitating,
"You better show me what you mean by a dash."
A dash, a teaspoon, the measurements mattered little in his head; after the months during the w.ar rationing tea and coffee and sugar, to live in abundance of the goods meant he always added extra for good measure. "It's more sugar than tea!" his godmother had exclaimed more times than he could count at the breakfast table, but he didn't care; it was a luxury still even after being home a year.
“Our first meal as man and wife. And hopefully one of many, many more." Startling was the right description and that's oddly how he felt when Anne sighed the words; blinking, he looked up to meet her gaze. She was right. They hadn't any type of reception the evening before. The wedding had been rushed, urgent, his godparents stood in the church before the vicar waiting patiently to sign as witnesses on the marriage license as he and Anne said their hasty "I do"s.
The meaning of all the words uttered the night before and that morning, all the logistics hanging around them suddenly weighed on his shoulders; John didn't regret any of this, but that didn't alter the unexpected changes to other timelines in his head.
He'd only gotten so far as to spread orange marmalade on a scone before the butter knife was lowered to his plate,
"Don't feel you have to answer now, but I... I've intended to purchase property," perhaps now was a poor time to mention this detail, but what time would be considered good? This wasn't like their letters; he needn't curate a perfect response; he could explain himself in more words here and now, "I intended to before, when I first came home, but then the Admiral offered up a room here at Hembury and... well... Nothing will come of it this week, maybe not for months, but know that I want your opinion on all of it. The property-hunting, the land... I only mention it now so you don't settle in too decidedly here."
“It’s settled, then.” She offered a triumphant smile. "We'll go for a ride."
Anne noticed his gentle limp, taking note of the way he tried to bite back the discomfort and pain. It made her heart ache to see him in pain, even if he was well accustomed to such a thing by now. A part of her was tempted to leave it alone, to ignore it for now as to not embarrass him, but she was his wife now. She had vowed to take care of him for the rest of their lives and she would carry out her vows wholeheartedly.
“Sit, sit.” Anne cooed, brows furrowed as she urged him to take a seat. It was early and his body was most likely still in the process of waking up and putting pressure on his knee, no matter how healed it was, ought to have hurt. Frowning, she looked at him and offered, "I can massage your leg later if its still bothering you. I don't want it to stop you from enjoying your day."
I do want children. Her heart soared at his words, but Anne fought to remain composed. Growing old and building a family with her husband was something she dreamed of, but, now that she was married, she realized that what made him happy would make her happy. If he hadn't been eager to have children of his own, Anne would've found ways to supplement the space in her heart. But to hear him say that he wanted the same thing was enough to make her feel weightless. But she didn’t want to appear too eager, so she merely nodded and bit her lip to quell the girlish smile.
“When the time is right, it will happen. Until then, we will carry on as normal. Our normal, at least.” If they spent their honeymoon like most married couples were expected to, a child would happen sooner rather than later, but she didn't want to worry over the logistics. She would make sure to enjoy her time with her new husband as well as she could and whatever came of it, they would face together when the time arrived.
“Milk and sugar. Just a dash of both.” Anne grabbed her robe draped on the back of the chair and pulled it on before sitting down in the chair adjacent to him. Her stomach growled as the scent of the food wafted out from the cloche, causing her to sigh in contentment.
“Our first meal as man and wife.” She hardly realized she’d allowed her musings to escape her mind, tumbling from her lips with a soft exhale. "And hopefully one of many, many more."

I've made it to the 8th season of ninjago and wtf???
Better animation, new haircut, new city, Lloyd's new voice, Garmadon is somehow back in the plot, and Cole actually has charachter developement?????
I have so much to think after two episodes, they got me really hyped for this one :D
#I stopped after two episodes because it was past my bedtime 😅#but yeah I had trouble sleeping#i thought the new haircuts would appear much much later :0#I'm just a LITTLE disappointed#because Cole probably won't get a season for him#while SOMEONES had more than one#I'm craving for Cole screentime#He never gets enough#i mean#I technically have 7 seasons left to watch#I could be wrong#he could have a massive character arc that I will watch over and over for three months straight#Also am I going to mention that there is no transition where Kai and Nya try to bond with their parents? Yes#ngl I was kinda pissed that they were alive and not evil because it's boring now#but as soon as they come back they get ejected from the plot like if it was nothing#I mean if you bring back important people to life you have to make them interact with the people a little#but I'm just ranting at this point l#I don't really care about them#ALSO also Pixal interacted with another person than Zane for the first time in 5 seasons#AND misako has left the party 😎#Sorry I have nothing against her but she just isn't really helpful...#And Lloyd has his first crush and for once I don't find it THAT awkward#Just me being annoying but I really don't like how the romance is brought in this serie#but this time it's actually cool#And the love interest is a twist villain#It only makes it better for me#it adds a little spice 😈#Yeah I got spoiled for that part blame my pinterest feed#potato ranting

#to translate this post: someone liked this post i made (on the upper left) on AUGUST 28 having a moment of self awareness that i was running#away from my whole life and not moving or learni ng to drive or anything. it is now march 8. it has been almost 7 months. and i have made#basically zero progress. and there is nothing stopping me but me. i could read the drivers manual and whatever whenever i want. but i am not#doing anything. and i don’t know how to get myself to start.#purrs#i know it’s a cop out excuse but i truly do think it’s covid. i think being in lockdown for a year and a half made me just let go of any#sense of progress. made me scared to take steps forward. and i mean i did bc i lived on campus for a while after that but it’s like.. EVERY#part of my life is stagnant rn it seems. and it’s not just me it’s my siblings too. we’re all getting older but none of us is trying to move#out or gain our independence in any way and my brother isn’t even looking for jobs even though he needs one. we’re all just getting older#but we’ve lost (or maybe had knocked out of us by covid and our mom being so strict) any sense of moving ipward and spreading our wings.#forgotten we have wings at all. and ive done important things like going on a house tour or traveling with my besties (<3). but i have only#made it to page 8 of the drivers manual and i truly do not want to read the rest of it. i have only been on one house tour and im longing to#move out but how much am i really because i can’t bring myself to schedule another tour and start searching for a new home in earnest.#i just come home every day UTTERLY exhausted and spend all my free time trying to process or rest. and im not making room for myself to use#my wings. and it’s truly terrible. why are we all okay with living like this. my younger self would be HORRIFIED if she saw how much i had a#atrophied since graduating and moving back home. my brighton self would be HORRIFIED. i told myself i wouldn’t and then it’s exactly what i#did. and ik im being harsh and ive spread my wings in some important ways during this time but… these are so obvious. such low hanging#fruit in some ways. bc any 16 year old can take this test and pass it so why can’t i at 24? why won’t i let myself? dont i want a nice cozy#home i make my own where i can eat what i want and sleep when i want and have control over sounds? then why am i not running for it?#delete later#i am wasting my youth i am wasting my youth i am wasting my youth 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 my one precious life 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃#also LMFAOOOOO the next tag on that aug 28 post was that i need to get a new campus id card… guess who hasn’t done that either ♥️

A few months ago, some of you might know if you keep up with this blog, I went to Collect-A-Con LA. It was truly on a whim. Literally the day before my girlfriend and I had just come back from our Europe trip. Normally I'd be so tired and jetlagged but for some reason I was feeling really antsy and energized and just needed to go somewhere and get out of the house.
I found out that Collect-A-Con LA was happening the following day and that a lot of the original Pokemon voice cast would be there. So I bought a ticket, drew/printed up a picture that I wanted to get signed and got up early to drive to the convention center (you have to understand that I hate driving in town and also very much never wake up early). I don't know what possessed me to do this but I'm so glad I did.
I ended up having the privilege of meeting Eric Stuart, Veronica Taylor and of course, Rachael Lillis.
She was masked up, looked tired, and a bit sick. And at the time, I assumed she might've caught a cold over the weekend of the con. I went to her table and she still smiled and gave me all of her attention and time. I paid her assistant for an autograph, gave Rachael the drawing I'd done and she got to signing it. Her assistant said the print I had was cute and asked where I got it. I told her that I drew it myself and that I spent a LOT of my time drawing Team Rocket and other various Pokemon fanart. When I said that, Rachel stopped mid-sign and looked up and squinted at me and asked "are you Kiana Mai"? My heart skipped. I had no idea she knew who I was and was surprised that, given how many Pokemon fanartists there are in the world, she was able to pick me out. I left that interaction so happy and felt so seen. Soon after, I went to get my print signed by Veronica Taylor and while in her line, noticed Rachael had left her table; presumably not feeling well and had to leave the con early. I remember thinking how lucky I was to catch her before she left.
A couple months later, I saw the gofundme that her sister posted, detailing what Rachel was going through for the past few years and her battle with cancer. It put that convention day in such a different perspective for me.
All I could think about was how much she cared about her fans and how in touch with her community she was to go to a convention while being in so much pain and suffering in silence. I obviously don't know her personally, but based on how other fans who've met her, as well as her colleagues have spoken about her, I got the impression that she was an amazing, thoughtful person who cared about the people around her. That was only solidified for me based on this singular interaction a few months ago.
Rest in Peace Rachael Lillis. You've touched so many lives with your voice and so much of us grew up listening you. Thank you for everything!
